Don't bother looking at apps, android and other products, ads from search are still the vast majority of google's income, over 90% IIRC

At the same time google is officially the biggest advertising agency in the world, by a wide margin

I've heard people say this before, but I disagree. For starters: if you've ever really read the movie credits you'll find that a lot of people have done a lot of different things that you may have missed on first sight. For each element in a TV-show (basic start is differentiating sound from video & start focusing on the sounds that are played with the video that's output) there's a lot of depth that define those parts of the production. Eventually you'll start to learn the techniques how elements are manipulated inside of shots, and see that everything is built to support a dramatic narrative. I think that the production focussing on dramatic narrative makes it easy to have such a passive experience. Everything is made to seem as natural as possible inside the narrative frame. But the narrative frame is not the interesting part of the show, its the conception of the narrative and the supporting elements, since that too is fully created by the production (even if the star of the show is telling a "true" story). Eventually TV will never be the same, and each program will have its own format which makes it interesting even when at first it seemed some kind of shit show

Nous (adj. noetic) in Orthodox Christianity is the eye of the soul. Just as the soul of man, is created by God, man's soul is intelligent and noetic.
