I didn't like this show all that much but I actually recommend you watch the subbed TV version instead of the DVDs because they use better music for the EDs. There's a lot of good openings and endings in this show and for some reason they fucked it all up when they did the DVD releases, they mixed a few of them up and removed some good songs I think. Picture related.

Hm, I looked around and I couldn't find the TV torrent anywhere because I got it from bakabt which is private now. I guess just let me know if you're interested in it and I can upload it to mega or something. In any case, the torrent above should be what you were looking for.

Fight! Iczer-1 is a good one I don't see a lot of people recommending.

There are good mecha charts in the chart thread.

Also, before you ask it, the answer is release order. If a franchise has several series/movies you watch them in release order. Except for Gundam and maybe others that's how it is, and the Gundam chart explains why.

All the works you said are pretty good, but it just looks like you want realistic nihilist shit. Hard to find, since manga is made to sell and no one wants to be sad (you freak), but I'll try.

Read Inio's other work. He's a nihilist at heart, so everything he does has this "it's nice to die" undertone.

Also a couple of works by Furuya Minoru are sort of depressing.

Freesia was fucked. I need to reread though.

Saikyou Densetsu kind of? Personally it's the only thing by Nobuyuki I can say I like, and for good reason.

Sekai Oni was almost made to be in this genre, but it's entirely far gone from the "realistic" part. Involves fighting odd demon creatures by people who have 'Alice in Wonderland Syndrome' (which is a real thing).

Bokurano is a twist on the "kids piloting machines to save the world" trope, similar to NGE. Obviously unique in its own way or I wouldn't even recommend.

Anything by Dowman is just great, for some reason he was my first though when I saw the ones as reference. mainly Voynic Hotel.

Helck also doesn't really fit but i don't care: read Helck

Wolfsmund translation schedule is fucked, so if you want to read it, just read up to where it is and assume it got cancelled.

Wombs is looking FANTASTIC, I stopped reading around chapter 10 because it was getting weird and I wanted to wait to binge it. Since the translators are still catching up to the finished manga (28 translated vs 43 finished), it looks like I'm still waiting.

If you just want to cry, there's a few.

Onnanoko ga Shinu Hanashi for one. Simple story, but fucking deadly for your tear ducts.

Sundome I really fucking liked, but it's ENTIRELY dependent on you. It's ecchi comedy until you realize there's a good story behind it.

SWWEEET is anything but.

Spirit Circle is done by my personally favourite author (Mizukami Satoshi), and this one is almPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

I'm not looking for an anime, but rather, a youtuber who used to analyse anime. He did quite a few videos on Neon Genesis Evangelion, including one titled "Understanding Evangelion" and an analysis on Asuka. He also did a review on Angel's Egg at some point and a top ten list which included Texhnolyze on it. I've tried looking him up on youtube and Google, but both proved fruitless.

Other particular elements from his videos included his obese cat (I believe it was orange), and he would drink coffee/tea.

Was hoping anyone would know it, it's about a female music club president dating her kouhai.

It was light and fluffy, the artstyle was fairly cute. From what I recall there weren't many chapters translated, I think I saw it on /a/s manga thread almost a year ago, though it could have been from elsewhere. I doubt it's actively getting translated, but I'd still really like to read what was there again.

Go to anichart.net and find some shit that looks interesting and torrent it from horriblesubs.info.

>No bowling ball eyes

>No cardboard cutout mode when expressing emotion

>No screaming everything that they're about to do

>No egregious/out of place boob/panty shots

>No social retardation that would never fly in real life

>No miraculous Mary Sue powers

Self-awareness/irony does make any of the above ok.

Examples include:

Seirei no Moribito

Monster

Tokyo Ghoul (season 1)

One Punch Man

Attack on Titan

Cowboy Bebop

I legitimately watch it for the story

Ergo Proxy

>Doesn't look like anime, doesn't sound like anime. Not just an exceptionally transparent dub, even the OP/ED made me think it was American first time I saw it. Looks like something right out of Liquid Television from the '90s, complete with edgy pretentiousness, but in a good and slightly sarcastic way.

Texhnolyze

>Essentially Ergo Proxy, but more edgy, more intense, and somewhat tighter written, in exchange for less humor.

Big O

>By the best of the anime studios from Batman: The Animated Series, looks and feels like a slightly cheaper BTAS with a dash of 2000s Cartoon Network. Which makes sense, since it was commissioned bespoke by CN's Toonami block.

Mushishi

>In spite of its setting's intense Japanese-ness, it contains virtually no typical trappings of anime, instead drawing primarily on traditional Japanese culture, in both stories and visual style, with a very subdued characterization for the cast.

Obligatory:

Legends of the Galactic Heroes

Record of Lodoss War

Spice & Wolf

>My favorite examples of how anime has been be the best use of TV to tell long, intricate novel adaptations perfectly. Even the BBC's miniseries adaptations haven't gotten this right.

As far as I know, this drawing belongs to a deleted scene from the Virtua Fighter anime series. There's zero information about it on the net, but time ago I saw it being auctioned as an official frame from the Virtua Fighter anime. This surprised me, because I watched the entire series and I never saw a scene like this. Maybe it was included in the original Japanese version but deleted in the Western dub? Maybe the original Japanese version didn't use it either? I was going to send it to Censored Gaming as an idea for an upcoming video, but first I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on the subject. Thanks in advance.
