Fight! Iczer-1 is a good one I don't see a lot of people recommending.
There are good mecha charts in the chart thread.
Also, before you ask it, the answer is release order. If a franchise has several series/movies you watch them in release order. Except for Gundam and maybe others that's how it is, and the Gundam chart explains why.
