This is by no means comprehensive, and I invite everyone to make further suggestions. Before we get started, I want to make it clear that this is not by any means an invitation to raid a site or 'take it over'. Not all sites and not all mediums of play are created equal and some foster unfortunate amounts of shitters, autists, normalfags, and other brands of stupid, but let's not destroy whole sites on our own justice, yeah?
Furthermore, the primary goal here is to escape F-list. This isn't an indictment of F-list itself, which has some useful features, it's more of a desire to spread out and get away from the overpopulation. I'll be describing the various Sites with the following criteria:
>Is Erotic Roleplay technically allowed?
In short, how much wolf-whistling and sneaky shit do you have to do to actually play there. Ideally we're looking for "Allowed", but "Not prosecuted unless reported in PM play" is also admissable.
>How useful is the site?
Clunky, badly-designed forums can still have merit, but ideally one seeks to have similar or better usefulness to F-list.
>Profile or Request Thread
Primary drivers of play. On F-list and some other sites, one builds a profile, often around a single character and perhaps situations for that character to inhabit or participate in, on some others, you construct a thread describing preferences and desired situations instead. It's not far apart, but it should be noted that Request Threads are, in fact, threads on a forum - therefore on many middling to low-pop sites, everyone gets a decent amount of exposure.
>Signing up
What's the process?
>Administration, Poz, and cliquedom
How much does one have to toe political lines in out-of-character sections? Are there users or players who weild admin/mod powers and thus should be tread around lightly? Is there a cult of persona, or overly popular users who could weild such power? Inherently, of course, a Post too long. Click here to view the full text.
