I think they have 1 more movie to go. The plot is still a complete fucking mess but I like it because it keeps on referencing obscure side materials and plot points that were never expanded upon in the first 2 seasons of Adventure. We got to see Omnimon, Alphamon, Jessmon, and Rasielmon fight in the most recent movie and somehow Toei managed to make it the least interesting fight in the show so far. Meiko was a fucking mistake and she pretty much ruined any hopes Tri had of being good, that being said I am still going to watch rest of the show because its fucking digimon and I love digimon.

Pokemon also has more girls, with quite a few being good looking. Digimon is different because the characters in it actually have personalities.

I blame the deletion of the official Digimon room for the drastic decline in non-oWo characters. Even though it was riddled with cancerous furshit from day one, there were always certain in-groups of players who kept the spirit alive. I'm certain the room's mere existence and position high up in the list, motivated people who'd otherwise never thought about making a Digi-char to remember the show/franchise and try their luck.
That, plus in recent years Pokemon seems to increasingly co-opt what differentiated Digimon from it back in the day. Things like talking main partners, mega evolutions, and so on. Those are I think also factors not exactly helping in people's decision to come back.
Having a fractured fanbase, who all prefer their own favorite incarnation of the franchise(not that it's a bad thing in general) doesn't, either. Add to that a generic furry appeal attracting lots of notoriously gay furfags only interested in a character because of their design, and the generic preference of people to have girls fuck girls with what amounts to a superior version of a strap-on, and suddenly the question why it appears that there are so many faggy players appears quite obvious.

I actually don't mind Tri that much. Mainly because it one of the more decent Digimon anime series to come out in the past decade. Xros Wars had potential, but it really fell off hard in my opinion. Especially in the middle of the series near the finale.
As far as I'm concerned, the last good Digimon series was Savers (and to a lesser extent, Evolution X) before Tri came to be.
Digimon hasn't particularly had stellar writing in the past few years anyway. Disregarding the video games. Those are usually pretty great.

Xros actually was pretty alright and even enjoyable.
It was pretty simple, straight forward and had little character arcs for the monsters, which was a nice change. (Not including Young Hunters which is utter trash.)
The designs were very mecha, which isn't what I really like, but I actually enjoyed watching it.
Tri instead is pure fucking trash, 70% of the screentime is wasted with mons/girls doing cute things or eating shit while the plot keeps bothering them trying to do their trivial ass normieshit and meiccomon has fullblown aids.
There was nothing enjoyable in it for me in any way.
As far as I am concerned Digimon has been dead since Tamers, with a short revival during Xros Wars and hype for Tri.

And fuck yes, the designs for Xros Wars is my shit, nigga. Like, as someone who's a legit mecha connoisseur, that's what attracted me in the first place.
Also another thing I like about Xros Wars is Taiki and gang. They're really fucking relatable. They feel like children and they don't try to act fruitlessly mature like most of these main cast characters do. Sure, they all have a sense of responsibility, but it's not uncomfortable towards the point where they're trying to shoehorn character traits. Everything that happens to their personalities are lowkey built upon; and that's something I hadn't seen since Savers.
Now as for Tri, I see you. Shit can be sort of unconventional for the people who aren't really outside people. Since apart of the anime medium and the people who enjoy digesting anime content aren't usually the most outgoing. So teen drama like that isn't exactly the best. Usually it's better to approach series like Digimon with fantasy drama. Like they did in the original Adventure and somewhat 02.
But since I'm one of those outside ass niggas, I do like me some baseline conflict. Shit speaks to me, that's why I'm feeling it so much.

Yeah hey, that same Arurri here. I play my character as a huge asshole, and it usually translates to being pegged as an ass OOC too.
Digimon's fucked in many ways, and it doesn't get much worse than the fandom on F-List. The whole Digimon room being deleted from being a main room fucked a whole lot of shit up for everyone, and the main players that tried to keep the room mostly active just moved on and went to other fandoms or do RL things.
Other issues about it were already talked about, from Mei and the shit she does, as well as that even with all the tittymons, anything that isn't from Tamers or Adventures gets little to no good art for people to bait folks with, and the lack of any good rooms for Digimon to just fuck around and fuck in doesn't help either.
A constant problem with Digimon has usually been the fucktards and the lack of a welcoming atmosphere, and I don't think that's gonna change anytime soon, so I just don't bother much with any actual Digimon rooms anymore. I don't think anyone else should either, unless you want either an empty room, or want to deal with Meicoomon and her repeat plot bullshit.
