Well it depends if the differences are physical or mental. Robots don't have to be like Data or Seven from Star Trek, all 'that is illogical' and 'affirmative'. They can be just as human as an actual human, often with a Pinocchio complex added on top.
Physical differences aren't that difficult either, it's little different from playing any non-human character. You just have to keep the differences in mind.

I'd say focus less on stiff robot speech and focus more on stiff robot thinking. As a simulated intelligence, they work in much stricter patterns, with less mental shortcuts and less intuition. If you ask a robot to do something, it will do it the exact same way every time until it's told explicitly to make an exception for something.
They're also much worse at taking contextual clues. For example, a robot working as a waitress at a bar is asked for a cider, and brings the customer regular, non-alcoholic cider without picking up on the fact that someone at a bar would of course want a hard cider.
So really, it's kind of like playing an autistic person

You may not like it because it's loli-centric. Basically the idea is a population of humans are in transit to a new home and a virus wipes out almost all of their women. The only woman who had a genetic immunity to the virus was a young girl, and it becomes clear that if they want to repopulate they basically need to treat her as a full-time breeder, and train her to prepare for such a life. Also to maintain genetic diversity she needs to fuck as many different people as possible.. I like it because it means that people who would normally be averse to fucking an underage girl are basically put in a position where they have to. I can see it going in a direction where their morality degenerates and they turn into crazed hedonists down the line.

That's ok, I can just make twists on scenarios until I do like them. This one still works for teen girls, not just lolis, for example.
It also works is historical or fantasy situations, not just sci-fi. Lost colonists, last remnants of a near-extinct creature, etc.
