I was always curious about the LL initials in Superman's life, what's the story there if any?

I have some amendments to the characters in mind:

> Screentime is an active /pol/ user and chronic masturbator

>B-Negative is an edgelord who ruins every D&D game he is in with his murder-hobo antics and by turning every session into an ERP

>Safespace is the equivalent of one of those harem protagonists who tries unsuccessfully to show solidarity with them- all he wants is that tight virgin puss but the only attention he gets is from old women and midgets

>Snowflake is an e-girl with BPD with seven paypig accounts and a virtual army of simps ready to defend her virtue

>Trailblazer is an adult diaper lover and furfag

Not all current Marvel is anywhere near this bad. Immortal Hulk is good, Cates's Thor is good so far, there's been good Daredevil runs lately. Not saying it's a great period in Marvel history but if you let hucksters like Scriver tell you it's all New Warriors and Iceman tier then you're gonna miss out on some pretty decent stuff.

I'm sure there's other inconsistencies but that's all I've got off the top of my head

But those things are established in more than one issue first? Unless the author is schizophrenic (which would show), it's strange. Written by a committee? Renamed characters from somewhere else?

Hell yeah, love to see another CrossGen fan. Best comics of the 2000s hands down. That guy who replied in your cap is correct except that I'm pretty sure story 1 is the Crossgenesis special, not CrossGen Chronicles.

Definitely don't stop at those series though. Ruse, Sigil, Crux, El Cazador, The First, Way of the Rat and The Path are all out of this fucking world excellent. Only in-continuity series that were meh were Route 666, the Silken Ghost WoTR spinoff, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and all of those had bright spots.

I'm gonna be making an issue by issue reading order for the main continuity stuff from CrossGen in the near future if you're interested in reading it all in order (it's all on readcomiconline if you're not aware of that). I've read it all in order before going by release dates with a couple things shifted around cause of some plot elements and it's an amazing ride, although one that's very sad by the end. Stupidly didn't keep track of my order cause I figured there was one out there somewhere but there isn't. I'll post it on here if and when I'm done with it.

Also got legit scripts for the unreleased issues of Negation War (that crossover event they were releasing when they went bankrupt). Pretty underwhelming frankly, at least compared to the quality of those first 3 years of CG but I can post those too if anyone would like.

In real life industrial pollution is typically the result of careless greedy cost-cutting measures. In Captain Planet the "Eco-Villians" deliberately destroyed the environment because they just thought it was hilarious, making money was always just a side thing. Some of their plots didn't even involve making any fucking money at all.

Everyone on /co/ is whining about more or less suble political messages in cartoons, or that cartoons nowadays lack the balls to show darker content. Meanwhile this happens in a cartoon named Afred J. Kwak, which I grew up with:

>Alfred's parents and all of his siblings die in a hit and run by two corrupt businessmen who are distracted while driving, and afaik never caught in the whole series.

>One of Alfred's schoolmates is an obvious gypsy analogy Magpie who keeps stealing stuff, but everyone accepts his apologies (even the judge during a trial), because he's a Magpie, and stealing is what he does. He later looks like a gypsy stereotype.

>Alfred saves the whales by leading a protest with them.

>One of Alfred's friends has an inner conflict, because he has the chance to be the captain of a modern, huge ass fishing ship which is a well paid job, but that ship destroys the ecosystem, which shows that it's not a one-sided topic.

>Alfred hides illegal black duck immigrants at home and uses his influence to get them a visa.

>One of the illegal immigrants had to flee his country because he's a Malcolm X type of character, and in his 3rd world home country there's early 1900s American racism between geese and black ducks for some reason.

>Alfred falls in love with his daughter. She's a constantly jealous bitch.

>One of Alfred's former schoolmates is a white supremacist goose.

>The goose is openly racist against black ducks.

>Alfred's crow bully, named Dolf, tries to get rid of the immigrants by winning (another) election. He later breaks out of jail after an attempted mass murder and takes Alfred's GF hostage.

But the best part:

>Alfred's school bully Dolf the crow is scared to end up being mocked, because he's only a half-blood crow. He paints his beak black since it's yellow to hide it. As a kid, he swears everyone will fear him.

>Both characters have a strange Xavier/ Magneto rivalry.

Alfred didn't know who killed his parents, he didn't even see the car, that's the tragic thing. But I found that weird too. Maybe they planned it, but it was never finished. I found it especially weird that some eeevil capitalists killed them, who have no point in the show except they are evil because money. That was really weird. Some messages come across as manipulative, while others were handled fine (my personal highlight is the Dolf dictatorship arc, but I doubt kids wouldn't understand how the events could take place IRL).

And as you say, that also troubled me. The black ducks are instantly accepted. That would have been a chance to show them dealing with the culture, or being looked at funny, considering they are literally the only immigrants in the whole town. Besides that, the chick made me hard as a rock as a kid, same with Alfred's mother. Man, porn ruined me fast.

I found many of the filler episodes weak, and I especially skipped the whale rescue arc, since it made me roll my eyes. You can't just go out there and… you know… save the whales. Or the ocean, just by stopping one corrupt guy.

It had a way too simple world view at times.

What I absolutely love is the German dub, because Alfred is dubbed by a Dutch woman. Sounds adorable. Kinda strange though that he always talks like that, from kid to adult. Overall style and SFX are very cute.

Hank (the mole) saw what happened but it's never explain if he tried to do something besides taking care of Alfred which is weird because the series always paints him like a man that stands against any kind of injustice and was friends with he father. I mean, the capitalist eventually get arrested but for something complete apart of the murder, don't know what the message with that was.

The whale arc is not that bad, yes it doesn't really makes sense than in a word where fish can talk like any other person this ones are hunted but then you have gems like the alien episode, but I do agree with you: the Dolf dictatorship is the high point of the series, shame that nothing else gets to top that but then again I read that the creator wrote the overall plot of the 52 episodes while he was driving to a concert so I guess that he was running out of ideas.

I only have hear the original Holland and Spanish dub but for I can tell for what you say, it seems that Alfred always has this child like voice.

There's a difference between showing social issues in a way that makes you think and preaching that someone is bad if they don't think the same as the show's writers.

A good example is Star Trek. ST:TNG and ST:DS9 had all the "six gorillion" sentiments buried in the Bajorans and their oppressors, the Cardassians. It was usually well done and didn't leave me feeling like I'd be harangued by activists. Compare with STD, which just says "You're shit for oppressing everyone, you evil white men! Also, fuck you, our Klingons are baroque and hideous to teach you not to make assumptions about culture or beauty," like we all didn't love the original and second-generation Klingons more than any other race.

The Last God is an upcoming series from DC's Black Label delving into horror and dark fantasy. The ancient gods existed before the world came into being with none more sinister than the titular survivor.

The aesthetic of the concept art kind of reminds me of games like Dark Souls, Bloodbourne and to some extent Castlevania.

So do I, I remember there being a graphic novel published by IDW called Monocyte which was based on two races of immortals warring over the remains of an entropically dying world.

A war disrupted when an angel Azrael sends a necromancer to bring death to the deathless.

If you like or even love a certain type of medium or genre then why should you feel the need to deconstruct it?

If you don't like or even hate a certain type of medium or genre or don't like certain aspects or tendencies of it then why should you feel the need to deconstruct it? Just ignore it and move to a genre or type of medium you like or offer your own take on it in a constructive way.

Maybe it's done when the author likes the medium or genre but believes it can be better, so he points the most common blatant flaws he believes should be avoided.

Ok, fair point.

But imagine if there was a show you liked and someone shat on it by either having a character from another show torture them because of reasons involving hatred/jealousy/butthurt, OR, say, had a female adult character from the show torture a little boy from that same show until he cried.

If "Neither" wasn't an option, would you rather make a revenge fiction of the adult female/character getting their comeuppance in a way that starts a cycle of revenge (sort of like how Walter Sobchak did https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCcKBcZzGdA&app=desktop&persist_app=1 except Larry may slightly get affected), OR would you just channel that shatting of your character into a version that at the very least has a less meanspirited ending?

> You're not willing to form a studio? That is a very, very bold move

I don’t need to studio because it’s a waste of time. We already got the tech to help pay me directly, release it at my own pace, and communicate with those who I want to work on it.

>So you're here as a writer and organizer, not as an artist? Also do you have any experience in making animated shorts or series?

Nope. I’m a first timer. Like I said, this is an INDEPENDENT work done mostly by me. Just as a way to sort of break into storytelling. It’s something I made a long time ago, and this is just the way I prefer to tell it. I don’t guarantee one of the best stories ever, or a completely original plot, but it’s something I WANT to tell. It’s not meant to be perfect.

So you can at least some parts of it to be enjoyable. Whether it’s the Mad Max world where people with crazy ass powers run around, the personalities of the characters, or the music, I don’t really care. I just want it to be badass as hell.

That is terminally ambitious for a first time director.

I suggest you start with very short stuff. Do 5 minute or less shorts. Even a 10 minute pilot is too much in most cases.

>studio is a waste of time

Forming a studio is a complete opposite than waste of time. There are huge amount of work efficiency benefits coming from bunching up in a studio, even if it's temporary for short projects. In my experience, even quasi-studio with 5 dudes in a garage can double the speed of animation stuff done, especially if you want to supervise/art director on everything. You could save months per project, maybe even weeks per episode

>If I decide to continue making more films/stories, I hope that over time, themes from my first project will be apparent in my later work.

In theory it's a good plan, but in practice, you rarely use your previous stuff in later works, because your previous and especially your first material is usually complete garbage by the time you accumulate experience.

Do you have a working pipeline?

I write from my heart. I have many ideas for short films/short series that I want to tell, because there’s some things I want to get off my chest. That’s what I want my work to be defined by: releasing painful emotional experiences.

>Forming a studio is a complete opposite than waste of time. There are huge amount of work efficiency benefits coming from bunching up in a studio, even if it's temporary for short projects.

No. This project is going to be made without a studio. Period.

>Do you have a working pipeline?

Pay a few freelancers to make the rough scenes, pay the others patch it up. Etc.

Besides, the example I posted is, if I remember correctly, a young, edgelord dwarf who shaves as some sort of fuck you to the old dwarves due to his being treated like shit for being a congenital fuckup. Like a young jew trimming his curly things to piss off the elders of zion traditional jews.

Not yet ripped: "Mal Tournée !" (Bad Turn)

>Daphne wakes up after a monumental bender. But no time to gather all her memories, she has an important meeting to attend. Except that when she gets out of the house, she quickly realizes that something is wrong: everything that reminds her of sex from near or far materializes before her eyes! And bad luck, she has a badly turned mind… Very badly turned. Whether it's a slit that turns into a vulva, a pole into a penis, or a grandmother's two-way phrase into a torrid embrace, her entire environment seems to have turned into a psychedelic adult film straight out of a disturbed brain. Between excitement and incomprehension, Daphne will have to survive her day and try to understand where this strange illness comes from…

>The "Porn'Pop" collection is enriched by a new original, whimsical and sensual one-shot, concocted by a trio of French authors: Clotilde Bruneau for the script, Isa Python for the drawing and Scarlett for the colour. A free and daring comedy that puts all fantasies in the spotlight, revisiting Sigmund Freud's libido in a pop sauce.

Pretty mediocre indeed, and overly reliant on HB references even if most of them were just quick visual gags. It didn't even have that solid of a focus. People say it's a Blue Falcon movie featuring Scooby-Doo, but frankly even he didn't have that much focus. It was more a Dick Dastardly movie than anything, he's the only one with a clear motivation and character arc.

The trail hasn't gone cold. If you just search around a bit you shouldn't have much trouble finding us.

Anyone else read Cancertown? It is a story about a man with a brain tumour which allows him to see what he views as a hidden layer of reality.

His companions in Cancertown (name of the other world) range from whimsical faeries to nightmare fuel and in the 'real world' they consist of a combination of the homeless and the mentally ill.

Think Hellblazer meets Through The Looking Glass and Dream Quest of The Unknown Kadath and you are there.

He was on Shock Waves a couple months ago and he was open about his writing process being going in blind and seeing where the story takes him. Which almost never leads to good endings. Just look at King. Bunn seems like a genuinely cool guy and has a clear knowledge and love of horror but he's not a great writer.
