Yes, I recommend them. The cgi movies are very close to the older incarnations they don't push very hard with pop culture unlike the live action movies.

I saw "City of Gods" (not the one about kids killing each other in Brazil lol) two days ago. Yeah, that one was actually good.

The style was well translated to 3D. The movie wasn't destroyed by shoehorning current shit in (instead, the story itself is kinda current, the higher costs for flats, moving away from the city etc.). The pacing was really good, although there's always another issue coming up to stretch the runtime which at some point became obvious. The Romans actually use latin quotes like in the comics, which they didn't even do in the older cartoon movies.

The movie actually benefits from 3D.

Everyone was charming, and I loved how they turned Caesar into a diabolic villain who seems to be the only serious guy in the movie.

I have this book in the Alea Jacta Est Series, they are very fascinating. Basically, you take the role of the guy on the cover who's new in the village and wants to be a rock star.

From there on, you puzzle your way through the story, and it continues depending on your choices. Sometimes decisions are made by rolling a die (hence the name), and there are also sub-games in it which you have to win, with their own rules. Plus, there's a pen and paper element to it, with points you add to your stats.

I never understood how you play it, but I was super fascinated by it as a kid, and its really inspiring. Check it out if you can find it.

That reminds me of a comic I read some years ago. I think we even storytimed it on here. Basically, there's a story where Joker lures Batman into a trap and thinks he has killed him so he turns into a normal guy and gets a girlfriend. But he sees the news about batman missing and his memories keep haunting so he has to revert back to Joker. Batman recovers and returns to fight the Joker. I think it was made in the 90's but it was an interesting story.

I also liked Fragments. Feels like shit might actually get serious.

What if the final villain is Steven?

The "YOU ARE NOT MY DIAMOND" + steven doing a leaping shield-rush trailers looked pretty cool though the paired context was misleading, as trailers should be.

Maybe I am too optimistic but "Future" seems like it might fix some of the problems that cropped up in the original series, like Steven questioning how childish/feminine he was, a void growing with Connie so they can't just casually become a tranny all the time, getting taller/muscular/facial hair, pushing away his foster mothers so he doesn't tranny-merge with them so often.

Of course that doesn't stop Amethyst but she's always been the one to molest him his entire life.

Plus we learn Onion is invincible and he is probably the 5th diamond.

They're trying to make a full series out of a children's book that couldn't have been more than 100 pages. Given the amount of shit they're going to have to put in that was not in the short story that they're adapting, why the fuck even bother marketing it as an adaptation?
