Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has been ordered to testify before Congress by the House Judiciary Committee, which has accused the corporation of lying about its private labeling practices to cover up possible antitrust violations.

In a letter the committee sent to Bezos on Friday, the e-commerce behemoth is accused of making "misleading, and possibly criminally false or perjurious statements" in previous testimony before the judiciary. Citing Amazon's sworn testimony that it "does not use any seller data to compete with [third-party merchants]," the committee contrasted those claims with a recent Wall Street Journal investigation that, having interviewed 20 Amazon employees, found the opposite to be the case.

Asking Bezos to testify "on a voluntary basis," the committee hinted that it "reserve[s] the right to resort to compulsory process, if necessary." It reminded the CEO that a request for "documents and communications related to Amazon's relationship with sellers, including…use of third-party sellers' data" made seven months previously in the course of the committee's antitrust probe had not been satisfactorily fulfilled.

The letter slammed Amazon for exploiting its dominant role in the e-commerce market to "appropriate the sensitive commercial data of individual marketplace sellers" and using it to compete with them directly. It noted that the activities alleged in the Journal article are "bolstered by other investigative journalism, as well as the preliminary findings of the European Commission," which launched its own antitrust probe against Amazon last year.

The company did not just deny using third-party sellers' data once, the committee reminded Bezos – its executives made the claim multiple times, both in written and spoken testimony, accumulating quite a potential pile of falsehoods.

In a letter to Attorney General William Barr earlier this week, Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) demanded a criminal antitrust probe of Amazon, citing the same Wall Street Journal investigation. He accused the corporation of using "predatory and exclusionary data practices to build and maintain a monopoly."

Amazon is already the subject of multiple federal- and state-level investigations and is also being probed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) – as are Facebook, Apple, and Google. However, Bezos is the only one of the 'big four' tech CEOs who has not previously testified before Congress. The executive accused of making false statements is Amazon's associate general counsel, Nate Sutton.

Despite the many probes targeting the mammoth tech corporations, however, punishments have been few and far between – in the US, at least. Facebook was fined US$5 billion last year by the FTC, and Google was ordered to pay US$170 million by the same body for violating children's privacy on YouTube.

The First Amendment lawyer famous for Citizens United has taken up arms against a new foe: all-mail voting.

Jim Bopp, Jr. filed two lawsuits in federal court this week — one in Nevada and one in Virginia — to stop officials in those states from mailing out ballots to everyone on the voter rolls, not just those who request them.

“I don’t use the word ‘voters,’” he says, “I use the word ‘people on the registration rolls’ because many of them are ineligible to vote. They’re not voters. They’re people that are on the registration rolls that are ineligible to vote.”

As the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the nation, Democratic officials and activists began pushing states to switch to voting by mail, eliminating in-person voting altogether – and probably permanently.

But organizations that have spent years reviewing the voter rolls in many states estimate that more than 20 million of the names nationwide are duplicates, people who have moved away, are deceased, non-citizens or felons who have not had their voting rights restored.

“Democrats have been trying to register everybody in the country and then fight purging the rolls of ineligible people, and now they want to mail ballots to every single one of them,” says Bopp.

“It’s just like, talk about the most massive fraud scheme in the history of America. Makes Tammany Hall looks like a bunch of pikers, or the Pendergast Machine in Kansas City look like they didn’t even know how to steal elections.”

Earlier this month, Bopp filed a brief in New Mexico on behalf of the organization True the Vote and individual voters, whose votes could have been canceled out by the votes of ineligible voters if the court sided with plaintiffs — county clerks who wanted ballots mailed to everyone, not just those who’d requested them.

“What the parties request this court to do here is little else than pure anarchy that robs both the legislature and the eligible, registered voters of New Mexico of the authority and protections afforded each under the New Mexico [Constitution] and the United States Constitution,” the brief reads.

Bopp argued that the rights of voters were “imperiled” by the plaintiffs’ request and that the plaintiffs have attempted to “entice” the court to “utilize the national emergency created by the COVID-19 virus as a guise to usurp the constitutionally delegated authority of the legislature and overrule and replace current election laws with robust protections against voter fraud with a court-created scheme of mail-in balloting.”

The Supreme Court of New Mexico sided with Bopp and denied the request for ballots to be sent to all names on the rolls.

But now the push is on for all-mail voting in the November presidential election, as well. About a half dozen state have already legalized it.

“They are bringing suits all over the country to impose it through court orders,” says Bopp.

“All-mail. Their ideal is all-mail.”

All-mail voting is not the same as absentee voting as voting absentee involves the voter requesting an absentee ballot, usually by mail, with a signature.

Some states have more stringent requirements than others. In Kansas, for example, people requesting an absentee ballot are required to send a copy of a driver’s license or State ID with the application for an absentee ballot.

“Part of the problem with this discussion is, we are familiar with absentee ballots, and that does involve quote mailing a ballot, end of quote,” says Bopp, “but there are numerous safeguards, the most important of which is the prior application. You have to apply.

“You have an audit trail, and all sorts of things. And that’s why a lot of these Democrats and liberal activists don’t like absentee ballot,” he says.

“They want wholesale mailing out without application because it eliminates half the fraud protection.”

CoVid19 = flu?

You telling me that all these labs, test developers, scientists, ect. Are passing off a test for influenza as a test for corona virus?

That's screwed up. And implies significant collaboration withing the scientific community.

I know I have seen product inserts for both molecular and serologic tests that show specificity for covid19, even when adulterated with flu a/b and other coronavirus strains. I have also seen patients tested that were positive for flu/ negative for covid and vice versa.

It seems more likely that Covid19 is real, is a corona virus, is no worse that the usual flu/cold, and is treatable with drugs that are effective on flu because they are both RNA viruses and thus have some similarity.

In 2016, Sofie Karasek was photographed holding hands and touching foreheads with Biden at the Oscars, where she stood alongside 50 other sexual-assault survivors during Lady Gaga’s performance. It was a moment that soon went viral, and was described then by the Post as “powerful.” But in the Post’s report published this week, Karasek says she believes that Biden violated her personal space.

Karasek is also a sexual assault survivor.

All Coll says she was made uncomfortable by Biden’s unwanted touching at a 2008 reception. He squeezed her shoulders and complimented her smile for an amount of time that made her uncomfortable.

You can also add a number of women and children who might have accused Biden of inappropriate behavior, but we still have countless videos and photographs of Biden touching them in ways that are wildly inappropriate and make the recipients noticeably uncomfortable.

Obviously, not all of these allegations rise to the level of assault. But these are not Republicans coming forward to accuse Biden. These are Democrats and women we can assume are at least left-leaning.

What one can glean from these eight allegations and all those videos is that even in full view of the public, at best, Biden has an appalling sense of entitlement when it comes to touching, caressing, and even kissing women.

And if this is how Biden behaves in public, one can only imagine what goes on when the Creep Veep believes no one is looking.

Flu drug used in Japan shows promise in treating COVID-19

Doctors find "clear evidence" it improves coronavirus symptoms.

A drug used in Japan to treat influenza seems to be effective at treating the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19, according to news reports.

The antiviral drug, called Favipiravir or Avigan, showed positive outcomes in clinical trials involving 340 individuals in Wuhan and Shenzhen, said Zhang Xinmin, of China's science and technology ministry, The Guardian reported.

"It has a high degree of safety and is clearly effective in treatment," Zhang said Tuesday (March 17), The Guardian reported.

Developed by Fujifilm Toyama Chemical, the antiviral drug is being manufactured by Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical for treating influenza viruses. Last month, the drug reportedly received approval as an experimental treatment for COVID-19 infections, Pharmaceutical Technology reported.

Patients in Shenzhen who had tested positive for COVID-19 and who were given the drug got a negative virus test back four days later, as a median (half showed a negative test earlier and half later than four days). That was compared with a negative test about 11 days later, as a median, for patients not on the drug, according to news reports. In that same trial, lung conditions (as shown in X-rays) improved in about 91% of patients taking Favipiravir, compared with just 62% who weren't taking the antiviral drug.

In the Wuhan trial, the drug also seemed to shorten the duration of a patient's fever from an average of 4.2 days to 2.5 days, according to Pharmaceutical Technology.

The drug is specifically made to treat RNA viruses like SARS-CoV-2; these are viruses whose main genetic material is RNA, rather than DNA. The drug stops some viruses from replicating by crippling the enzyme (a substance that gets chemical reactions going) called RNA polymerase, which builds RNA. Without that enzyme intact, the virus can't duplicate its genetic material efficiently once inside a host cell, according to an article describing the drug that was published in 2017 in the journal Proceedings of the Japan Academy, Ser. B, Physical and Biological Sciences.

However, the drug seems less effective in patients with severe symptoms. "We've given Avigan to 70 to 80 people, but it doesn't seem to work that well when the virus has already multiplied," a source from the Japanese Health Ministry told the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper, according to The Guardian.

As Business Owners Face Jail for Staying Open During Lockdown, ‘High-Risk’ Child Rapists Set Free

Orange County, CA — Over the past two months, non-violent inmates have been released from prisons across the country in an attempt to prevent massive outbreaks behind bars. Some law enforcement officials have raised concerns over releasing people in jail for marijuana possession, but they’ve largely been ignored thanks to common sense. However, law enforcement sources in New York and California are justified in their concerns as dangerous “high-risk” child rapists have been released.

The number of guards and inmates testing positive for COVID-19 continues to rise across the country — though deaths remain low. As we reported in March, it was only a matter of time before someone who is not exhibiting symptoms brings it in to one of the many prisons across the country. As the multiple cruise ship outbreaks illustrate, once the virus enters a closed space, it explodes and not just on the cruise ship.

Across the country, jails have been moving to set prisoners free. In LA county, inmates with 30 days or less on their sentences were set free. Sheriff Alex Villanueva stated that the department will also limit arrests to only dangerous suspects, decreasing the re-entry level. Also, anyone with a bail of $50,000 or less is being let out.

In New York, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said low-level offenses that don’t jeopardize public safety will not be prosecuted at all during the coronavirus outbreak. Authorities are also moving to release certain demographics from the prisons as well.

In Greece, New York, however, officials announced in March that they will be releasing child rapists, raising concerns among many. And now, Orange County, California is doing the same.

On Tuesday, residents of Orange County were issued a warning by District Attorney Todd Spitzer, letting them know that seven registered sex offenders who he said were “high-risk” were recently released from custody.

KTLA reports, Spitzer said the convicted men spent “just days” in jail instead of the six months required by law for those registered as sex offenders. Illustrating the reckless nature of such a decision is the fact that all of these violent sex offenders had also been charged with cutting off their GPS monitors or tampering with their tracking devices.

The DA called the men “the most dangerous kind of criminal and the most likely to reoffend.”

“These are not the kind of people who should be getting a break,” he said.

“It is not the court’s responsibility to control the jail population by releasing these dangerous criminals back into our communities,” the DA said. “The residents of Orange County deserve to have the peace of mind that registered sex offenders are being held accountable and not just let out the front door of a jail by a court commissioner who refuses to follow the law.”

On top of the court knowing these men had convictions for tampering with their ankle monitors, all seven of these men have violent criminal records, and five of the seven have been arrested for criminal sex acts against children.

This is the exact same thing that unfolded in New York in March.

As TFTP reported in March, multiple sex offenders were released from the Monroe County Jail as part of a statewide order coming from The Department of Corrections and Community Services– or DOCCS.

Just like in Orange County, the release of the dangerous rapists perplexed even the chief of police.

“It doesn’t make any sense. If you could present an argument to me that makes sense, I’m willing to listen. But this doesn’t make any sense,” Patrick Phelan, the Greece Chief of Police, said.

The inmates were moved to the Holiday Inn Express after the DOCCS was ordered to release low-level technical parole violators. But as stated above, these are not ‘low level’ offenders.

As WROC points out, among the inmates known to be staying at the Holiday Inn Express are four registered sex offenders. Three of whom are registered as level 3 sex offenders and are deemed by New York courts as most likely to re-offend. All three of the level 3 sex offenders staying at the Holiday Inn Express have been convicted for the rape of minors.
