This news commentary got me thinking:

Just one year ago, in March 2019, the director of China’s Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told reporters that, while a virus could emerge at any time, it would not in future cause an epidemic on the scale of Sars. CDC spent $ 100 million to build a reporting and early warning system for the CDC after Sars but they failed miserably. A leaked document from Wuhan Central Hospital this week indirectly confirmed that the early warning system was not activated during the early period of the outbreak. The document showed doctors were under instructions not to report any cases until they had been vetted and approved by their supervisors. They were also forbidden from disclosing any information to the public without permission. Doctors who did speak out in the early days of the outbreak faced consequences. Ai Fen, head of Wuhan Central Hospital’s emergency department, was muzzled by local authorities after raising the alarm without permission at the end of December. Another doctor, Li Wenliang, shared her information privately with a group of medical school alumni and was reprimanded by local police for “spreading rumours”. Weeks later, Li was killed by the disease and was hailed in China as a whistle-blower and a martyr. Official reports have documented that leading experts from China’s National Health Commission made two separate visits to Wuhan, just a week apart in early January, and reported no evidence of human transmission of the virus. It has since emerged that there was evidence of human transmission occurring in Wuhan as early as December.

I found myself thinking about it all day. At one point I realized that it reminded me of the Chernobyl TV series I had recently watched. Another communist government (USSR) had allowed a catastrophe to occur and made it worse because of the way the authorities handled it: protecting the regime in power was more important than the safety of the people. The authorities denied that the catastrophe was happening even though the evidence was in plain sight. I didn't know, until watching the series, that this mishandling very nearly caused a much worse catastrophe that would have made all of Ukraine and beyond uninhabitable. Gorbachev said some years later that this incident caused the end of the USSR.

Synchronistically, a new Kryon video appeared on YouTube specifically about the Corona virus. I have attached the audio part because Kryon's comments seem profound. He also made the comparison to Chernobyl and further said that the Corona catastrophe could bring down the Chinese government and the government of another country when the truth was revealed by whistle blowers. He wouldn't give the name of it but gave a clue: follow the sequence of early outbreaks. My guess is Iran. He also emphasized that the future of humanity is still bright and that the virus would be contained, but like Chernobyl it will leave an imprint on human consciousness similar to a child burning its hand on a stove. Barbara Marciniak also channeled a few weeks ago that the Chinese government will be brought down over this. The truth will come out in a few years, perhaps sooner.

Handbrake does a decent job (50-75% reduction in files size depending), usually try ~720p, if we could upload .mkv could be even smaller.

The reason i got vegas is coz -- somewhere in my files -- i've got some info from an anon on using Vegas to compress files. but can't locate it now, got a little busy and lost track of some things.

Simpler program would probably be better, but i didn't know what to get. two of us are doing videos, the other baker is using Bandicam but looks like it does not support textual overlays. i did the video screenshot of my last bake using snagit--basic but it works.

have also create a lot of instructional materials, just not vids. I would be an impossible "client" bc the way i develop materials is to keep refining everything based on ongoing feedback and insights. Ideally, there would be an app where it's easy to do file reduction and overlays--and which has decent YT tutorials on both.

Unless you have Windows 7-8 or 10 without updating the Windows Movie Maker I've not found a simple one stop program for your requirements.

If you can spin up a VM with Windows 7 Pro it will have the software I think, later it was in Windows Essentials. For adding text it is the simplest I have found.

After the editing I just run the file through Handbrake for compression.

It was included in older version of windows so would have to spin up a vm to use it if you don't already have it.

I had it installed when upgraded to 10 and that is one reason I haven't switched to *nix.

Eventually get another drive and dual boot.

Every time a post is made in a thread, the thread is bumped to the top of the index/catalog on the board. A bump limit only prevents the thread from being bumped to the top of the catalog every time a post is made inside it, but still allows replies. A reply limit is literally a limit to the amount of replies permitted per thread.

Ten tips for notables

from just one baker, opinions may vary.

GENERALLY

1. Maintain a separate Notepad++ file for notables (don't insert directly in the pastebin file).

Enables you to note missing sauce, put in "iffy" notes at the end (waiting for a nom), etc.

2. Post about four times during the bread, (early, middle, last call, final).

Don't stick anything iffy in at the last moment, make sure anons can vet it first.

3. Make notables easy to find with RED TEXT and BOLD.

Especially important if you may have to ghost--next baker needs heavy formatting to locate important info like notes.

4. Link notes to dough post if you have to ghost.

Same reason as above.

DECIDING WHAT TO NOTABLE

4. Look for anon noms, they are usually notable.

"Usually" because shills nom too. So do trolls, for fun. If not sure, either ask for a 2nd nom or say what's missing (often a description).''

5. Look for special reports: planefags, boatfags, Resignations in the News, etc.

Anons seldom nom these, except for RA's stuff if they don't see it in Notes.

6. For noms wo/a description, ask for one.

These are usually anon diagrams, analyses & Q proofs. Hard to evaluate much less write a description. It's the responsibility of the poster or nom-mer to provide one.

7. If there is too much news & bred is fast...

...focus mainly on nommed posts, breaking news (if verified), news re Q concerns (CP, etc.).

8. Check for two things: dates and whether it's been notabled (qresear.ch).

Easy during slow breads, hard during fast ones. Dates take priority. But if you forget, anons or shills will always let you know.

9. Try to thank anons who go above and beyond...

...by including descriptions/titles with noms, looking up sauce for baker, etc. Don't be afraid to talk to anons or ask for feedback.

10. During Q breds, notables are low priority. As soon as you know, search on "Q !!" to find posts, get to the bottom of the bread, and bake really early.

Keep your eye open for baker caps and fully-formatted Q posts w/caps.

It was actually a useful thing to find for myself as well since they removed it.

It is the video equivalent of MS Paint.

Simple to use.

When a list of tools/utilities is compiled will add some that I use which may not be widely known.
