Japan to Be Culturally Enriched With 300,000 Bangladeshi Migrants

Citing the “attractiveness” of Japan for Bangladeshi migrants, the Japanese authorities have announced a grand plan to culturally enrich the lamentably homogenous homeland with a third of a million Bangladeshis, with much more ambitious proposals in the pipeline.

“The government has intensified preparations to send huge numbers of skilled manpower to Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) category, as Japan faces an ongoing shortage of qualified manpower.

The Japanese government has set a target to recruit [820,000] foreign workers across 16 sectors under the SSW category by March 2029.

Experts and officials believe that if Bangladesh prepares effectively, it can supply up to 40 percent of this demand that is more than 300,000 workers.

Previously, Bangladesh had the capacity to send workers in only six of these categories. Now, the government is working to develop skilled manpower for all 16 categories.

Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Chairman of the Japanese Studies Department at Dhaka University described Japan as an attractive destination for Bangladeshi workers*.

UAE Slips Hidden Oil Tankers Through Straits Of Hormuz

While conventional wisdom, especially after Trump's counter-blockade of Iran's blockade, that the Strait of Hormuz is completely blocked, the reality is that the UAE is now running loaded crude tankers through the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz with transponders switched off - just like sanctioned Iranian ghost fleets in the pre-war period - just to pry loose a fraction of the oil bottled up in the Gulf.

According to shipping data reported by Reuters, industry sources, and satellite tracking, Emirati state-owned energy giant ADNOC and willing Asian buyers have moved at least 6 million barrels of Upper Zakum and Das crude out of the Gulf in April alone via four tankers. While that’s a drop in the bucket compared to pre-war exports, it proves participants are willing to roll the dice with Iranian drones and speedboats to unlock trapped supply.

At the same time, other Gulf heavyweights Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar have largely thrown in the towel. Saudi Arabia is rerouting via the Red Sea where possible. Only the UAE is playing an occasional round of Russian roulette through the world’s most critical oil chokepoint.

Dark Fleet Playbook Comes to Abu Dhabi

Emirati tankers are sailing with AIS trackers deliberately shut off, the same tactic Tehran has used for years to evade U.S. sanctions. One VLCC, the Hafeet (managed by ADNOC’s own logistics arm), loaded 2 million barrels of Upper Zakum on April 7, slipped through the strait by April 15, then did a ship-to-ship transfer to the Olympic Luck outside, which delivered it to Malaysia’s Pengerang refinery (a Petronas-Aramco JV).

Oil trader pockets reported $125 mn on suspiciously well-timed Iran bet – media

The alleged trade came shortly before reported progress toward US-Iran deal to end the war, raising suspicions of insider information

A massive crude oil bet placed shortly before reports of a possible US-Iran peace deal sent prices crashing and fueled suspicion of insider trading, after the position reportedly generated a $125 million profit in just over an hour.

According to market commentary platform the Kobeissi Letter, nearly 10,000 crude oil short contracts were placed around 3:40 AM (07:40 GMT) on Wednesday “without any major news,” describing the roughly $920 million position as unusually large for that time of day.

At 4:50 AM, Axios reported that Washington and Tehran were nearing an agreement to end the conflict and resume negotiations. Oil prices plunged more than 12% within two hours of the report, turning the short position into an estimated $125 million profit before the price later rebounded, the platform said.

During the US-Israeli war against Iran, prediction and traditional financial markets were flooded with suspiciously well-timed bets linked to airstrikes, ceasefire announcements, and diplomatic developments.

According to The Guardian, traders placed more than $1 billion in seemingly prescient wagers, including an $850,000 bet shortly before US strikes against Iran and around $950 million in oil futures hours before Trump announced a ceasefire in April. AP reported that the ceasefire announcement alone generated more than 413 million predictions and over $100 million in wagers across prediction markets within days.

On March 24, the White House reportedly issued a warning to staff against using insider information on the Iran war to trade on financial markets. This came a day after US President Donald Trump ordered a five-day pause in planned strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure.

News outlets, citing market data, later reported that around 15 minutes before the abrupt announcement of a policy shift, futures markets saw a surge in trading activity. More than $760 million worth of oil futures contracts reportedly changed hands in under two minutes. Several reports also said three Polymarket accounts collectively earned over $600,000 after correctly anticipating the timing of the ceasefire with Iran.

Thomas Massie Says Trump Intimidated, Retaliated Against GOP Rep ‘Over Epstein’

Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie claimed that President Donald Trump retaliated against his GOP colleague for demanding transparency around the Epstein Files.

Massie told Tucker Carlson in an interview Wednesday that Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert was taken into the Situation Room and urged to remove her name from a discharge petition, which would force a vote on releasing the Epstein files. Boebert was just one of four Republicans who signed onto the petition, joining 214 Democrats to force a floor vote.

After Boebert refused to tank the vote, Massie said Trump vetoed a bill that would allocate critical resources to residents in Southeast Colorado, many of whom are her constituents.

“They took her into the Situation Room and tried to whip her into taking her name off of the discharge petition over Epstein,” Massie said. “And then the president vetoed a bill that would have brought water to a large portion of Colorado, over Epstein.”

The bill Trump vetoed was the bipartisan Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act, which would complete a 130-mile pipeline to deliver clean water to tens of thousands of residents in Colorado. This is one of just two bills Trump has vetoed in his second term.

“At this point its not just about Lauren Boebert,” Massie said. “Why are people in Colorado deprived of water because their representative wants to expose a sex trafficking ring?”

Saudi Arabia Blocked ‘Project Freedom’ by Denying U.S. Access to Bases

Two unnamed U.S. officials told NBC News on Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s “Project Freedom” — the plan for American military forces to safely escort commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz — was “paused” after less than 48 hours because Saudi Arabia denied the use of its airbases to protect ships from attacks by Iran.

According to NBC’s sources, the Saudi government was “surprised” and “angered” when Trump announced Project Freedom with a Truth Social post on Sunday afternoon.

Trump said he was acting in response to requests from “countries from all over the world” who were “neutral and innocent bystanders” to the conflict between the U.S. and Iran.

“For the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these countries that we will guide their ships safely out of these restricted waterways, so that they can freel and ably get on with their business,” the president wrote.

Trump dubbed the initiative “Project Freedom” and said it would begin on Monday, only a few hours after he wrote his Truth Social post. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it was ready to support the effort immediately, as part of America’s commitment to freedom of navigation.

“Our support for this defensive mission is essential to regional security and the global economy as we also maintain the naval blockade,” CENTCOM commander Adm. Bradley Cooper said on Sunday.

CENTCOM’s statement suggested Project Freedom was an extension of an initiative announced by the Department of War the previous week to “enhance coordination and information-sharing among international partners in support of maritime security in the strait.”

“Project Freedom is defensive in nature, focused in scope, temporary in duration [and] with one mission: protecting innocent commercial shipping from Iranian aggression,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said on Monday, announcing that two ships had already passed through the Strait of Hormuz under the protection of U.S. destroyers.

Hegseth said Iran “cannot be allowed to block innocent countries and their goods from an international waterway.”

“Iran is the clear aggressor, harassing civilian vessels, threatening mariners from every nation indiscriminately, and weaponizing a critical choke point for its own financial benefit,” he said.

On Tuesday, Hegseth praised the success of Project Freedom at a Pentagon press conference, and said “hundreds more ships from nations around the world are lining up to transit.”

“As a direct gift from the United States to the world, we have established a powerful red, white and blue dome over the strait,” he said.

“American destroyers are on station, supported by hundreds of fighter jets, helicopters, drones and surveillance aircraft providing 24/7 overwatch for peaceful commercial vessels — except Iran’s, of course,” he said.

Later on Tuesday, President Trump suddenly announced a “pause” to Project Freedom, ostensibly at the request of Pakistan, which has been mediating talks between the U.S. and Iran.

Trump said the pause was “mutually agreed” to and justified by “the fact that Great Progress has been made toward a Complete and Final Agreement with Representatives of Iran.”

According to NBC’s sources, the real reason for the pause was that Saudi Arabia indignantly informed the U.S. that its Prince Sultan Airbase could not be used to support Project Freedom, and U.S. military aircraft would not be allowed to fly through its airspace to participate in the effort. This would have removed the air support Hegseth described as integral to the operation.

The U.S. officials allegedly said Trump placed a call to Saudi Arabia’s de facto chief executive, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), but it “did not resolve the issue.”

“Other close Gulf allies were also caught off guard; the president spoke with leaders in Qatar after the effort had already begun,” NBC reported.

Raid at Open-Air Drug Market in L.A.’s MacArthur Park Results in 18 Arrests on Federal Charges and Seizure of Massive Stockpile of Fentanyl

Federal agents raided an infamous open-air drug market in Los Angeles, California, Wednesday and seized a massive amount of fentanyl at the residence of one of the arrested individuals.

“Today, we begin reclaiming MacArthur Park from criminals and drug addicts to return this public space to the citizens of Los Angeles,” First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli said in a statement.

“Together with our federal and local law enforcement partners, we are executing multiple arrest and search warrants targeting those who are distributing drugs in and around the park.

The complaint’s affidavit alleges that Mallaly Moreno-Lopez, 31, and her boyfriend, Jackson Tarfur, 28, both of the Westmont area of South Los Angeles, “serve as the, if not one of the main sources of supply of fentanyl powder and methamphetamine distributed in the Alvarado Corridor and MacArthur Park, generally on behalf of the 18th Street Gang.”

Moreno-Lopez and Tarfur hand-delivered narcotics to the Alvarado Corridor near MacArthur Park for stashing in storefronts and subsequent distribution to street-level drug dealers. Moreno-Lopez and Tarfur use their Westmont residence as a stash location for illegal drugs prior to delivering them to MacArthur Park.

Law enforcement also identified Yolanda Iriarte-Avila, 40, of Calabasas, as a source of supply of methamphetamine for Moreno-Lopez, via Iriarte-Avila’s boyfriend, Jesus Morales-Landel, 33, of the Exposition Park area of South Los Angeles, who is a street-level drug dealer in the MacArthur Park area. Iriarte-Avila uses her residence as a stash location for subsequent drug distribution.

Dozens of Green Party Candidates Investigated over Alleged Antisemitism: Report

According to a report from the Daily Mail, over 30 Green candidates for local councils are being investigated by their own party amid accusations of widespread antisemitism within the far-left party run by Jewish-heritage London Assembly Member Zack Polanski.

The issue came to the fore last week after two Green council candidates, Saiqa Ali and Sabine Mairey, were both reportedly arrested on “suspicion of stirring up racial hatred” over alleged antisemitic social media posts.

The left-wing Labour Party, which has been bleeding supporters to the more radical Greens, is said to have produced a dossier of social media posts by 25 Green Party candidates, supposedly including a string of “harrowing anti-Semitism, dangerous conspiracy theories and appalling comments supporting Hamas.”

Meanwhile, Green leader Polanski, who has openly courted the UK Muslim vote, was revealed to have liked posts that accused Prime Minister Starmer of being on the payroll of Israel and high-profile Jews.

In the wake of the recent apparently antisemitic mass stabbing attack in Golders Green, London, Polanski came under heavy criticism for sharing a post which claimed that Met Police officers were “repeatedly and violently kicking a mentally ill man in the head” while attempting to detain the knifeman.

The post drew the ire of Met Police chief Mark Rowley, who described it as “inaccurate and misinformed commentary” while describing the heroic actions of the officers as “nothing short of extraordinary”. For his part, Polanski accused Britain’s top law enforcement officer of interfering in the elections by publicly denouncing his post.

Regardless, the incident appeared to have seriously damaged the rising leftist star’s sheen, with a YouGov survey finding that Polanski’s unfavourability rating rose by a staggering 8 per cent following the Golders Green attack, to 47 per cent, compared to just 22 per cent favourable.

Prime Minister Starmer was withering in his criticism of the Green leader, saying on Friday: “You have to make a decision in that split moment according to the situation as you understand it to be. And for politicians to wade in, as Zack Polanski did, is disgraceful. He’s not fit to lead any political party.”

Controversy surrounding the Green leader continued on Tuesday, with The Times reporting that he had falsely claimed in 2022 to be a British Red Cross spokesman while running for a leadership role in the Greens.

Speaking on the BBC’s Today programme on Wednesday — the day before voters head to the polls for local elections across the UK — Polanski admitted that he had used “the wrong word” when describing his role with the Red Cross, which appears to have amounted to hosting fundraisers for the charity.

Mr Polanski’s past has become fodder for his opponents and the British tabloids, with the London Assembly member reportedly previously claiming that he had the ability to increase the size of women’s breasts through the power of hypnosis.

While he claims to have been “misrepresented”, the BBC revealed that in 2013, Polanski told BBC Radio Humberside that there was “anecdotal evidence, at least, of a growth in breast size” as a result of his hypnosis technique.

Commenting on his opponent’s latest scandal on Wednesday, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage quipped that perhaps Mr Polanski is a “fantasist”.

US Releases New Counter-Terrorism Strategy, Calls Europe an ‘Incubator’ of Migrant Terrorism

Yesterday, the Donald J. Trump administration released its new Counter-Terrorism Strategy, a document that, along with the recently-released National Security Strategy (NSS), outlines the new priorities and concerns for US officials.

The new document unleashes fresh criticism of Europe, after the NSS said the continent faced ‘civilizational erasure’ due to unchecked mass migration.

“US President Donald Trump’s administration accused Europe of being an ‘incubator’ for terrorism fueled by mass migration, in a new counter-terrorism strategy unveiled on Wednesday.”

IDF confirms death of Hezbollah Radwan Force commander in Beirut strike

The IDF killed Ahmad Ghaleb Balout, the commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, in a precision strike in Beirut’s Dahiyeh neighborhood on Wednesday, the military confirmed Thursday.

One of those passengers, a Swiss man who had returned home with his wife, tested positive for hantavirus on Wednesday, authorities said.

That patient was initially taken to a Zurich hospital and tested negative for the virus — which can lie dormant for up to eight weeks.

He was apparently just one of many expedition passengers who decided to hit the road during the Dutch vessel’s two-day stop in the British territory last month.

Argentine investigators now believe that a Dutch couple was responsible for bringing the virus onboard, after picking it up from rodents while visiting a landfill during a birdwatching tour in the city of Ushuaia days before the ship departed from the Argentine port on March 20.

Both husband and wife are now dead.

There is one hole in this theory: Authorities previously said that the area and the surrounding province of Tierra del Fuego had never recorded a case of the hantavirus.

Though usually spread through rat droppings, the World Health Organization said a rare strain of hantavirus that can spread between people — the Andes virus — is the culprit behind the Hondius outbreak.

The WHO said national governments have begun contact tracing the patients, but experts say there is unlikely to be widespread infection from the outbreak — because hantavirus isn’t nearly as contagious as, say, COVID-19.

“It requires large saliva droplets from talking to people. Close, person-to-person spread,” said Ali Khan, dean of the College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, one of the top infectious disease research hospitals in the world.

He added: “We’re probably looking at more than a ‘Hello, how are you?’

“[The first victim’s] wife was infected. The doctor who spent time with him. Maybe prolonged conversations over lunch or dinner. It shouldn’t be casual conversations that started this.”

However, there are fears that the contact tracing has started too late. Passengers who left the boat were only informed of the terrifying virus outbreak days ago, according to the traveler who spoke to El Pais.

The passenger claimed that the WHO didn’t begin contacting the escapees until three days ago, despite the first passenger getting sick on April 6.

That patient, a 70-year-old Dutchman, died on April 11 — almost two weeks before the Saint Helena stop.

That is what was happening in the room Perry Stone described in his April 27 video, whether the men running it called it a war game or not.

Stone said an unnamed friend had told him a small group of pastors with large platforms had been quietly gathered to hear “some men in the United States government and others” share concerns about a coming federal disclosure.

The pastors were warned, on Stone’s account, that the announcement could lead believers to question their faith and drive non-believers to clergy looking for answers. Greek-American billionaire John Catsimatidis confirmed on X that the meeting had taken place.

Pastor Alan DiDio echoed the account on his channel. A separate Reddit post on the UFO forum reported a third pastor had been told privately, simply, “Disclosure is coming.”

The pastors thought they were being briefed. They were being tested. Their reactions, their language, their level of alarm, the way they would later describe the meeting to their audiences, all of it was data. The war game was about them.

The pastor who proved the point

Larry Ragland proved the point within a week.

The YouTube preacher took the briefing he had received, or had been told about secondhand, and turned it into a viral clip in which he claimed a sitting Republican congressman from Missouri had said on speakerphone that the coming disclosure would unmask the beings as humanity’s true creators, that Jesus was their invention, and that the Bible was their invention.

The congressman was Eric Burlison, who has spent the last two years as a leading congressional voice on UAP transparency. Burlison did not deny dialing in. He denied the rest, sharply, on X.

By Wednesday, Ragland had recorded an apology. “I want to make it very clear,” he said, “that Eric Burlison did not say those words. Those were my words, and I want to own it, and I want to apologize directly to Congressman Burlison.”

The apology was the right thing to do. It also confirmed exactly what the war-gamers needed to know. Hand a sensational frame to a pastor with a YouTube channel, and within 72 hours he will have inflated it, broadcast it, named a congressman, gone viral, gotten caught, and apologized.

The base will absorb the spectacle, the cable shows will move on, and the actual disclosure, when it arrives, will land in a country that has already been inoculated by a week of pastor-on-pastor noise.

Anna Paulina Luna, who chairs the House task force on UAP transparency, called the surrounding coverage people spinning stuff for clicks. She was not wrong. She was just describing the desired outcome.

This is how the simulation succeeds. Not by recruiting reliable allies. By identifying gullible amplifiers, feeding them just enough to fly with, and watching the discrediting cycle do the rest of the work.

By the time the documents drop, half the religious internet has already been embarrassed by the conversation, and serious questions about establishment-clause coordination, briefing authority, and ethics rules will be drowned out by recriminations among Christians about who said what to whom.

The credentialing was never the point. The credulity was the point.
