CH A) Corinthia Hotel. 5-star hotel at the junction of Northumberland Avenue and Whitehall Place very near the Hungerford railroad and Jubilee footbridges on the Victoria Embankment. The building, opened as the Metropole Hotel in 1885, was used by the Ministry of Defense during both World Wars. During World War II, the building provided office accommodation for the Air Ministry and Ministry of Defense. It is the MoD's former presence that earned the building its reputation of 'spy HQ' for the British Secret Service. Records state that Room 424 was the first home of MI9 and its sub-division, the Special Operations Executive. It also became the holding point for one of the model planning beaches for the Battle of Normandy.

Befitting of a building with this heritage, there are a number of tunnels and passageways under the road which lead to and from the hotel. B) Canada House. 5 Trafalgar Square, London SW1Y 5BJ. Built in 1827, this prominent building fronting Trafalgar Square, became ‘Canada House’ in 1923. Over the years as Canada’s consular and diplomatic functions in UK expanded, these services became dispersed across several buildings. In 2013 Canada announced its plan to consolidate all its diplomatic and consular functions into one central location. On February 16th 2018 Q posted a picture from a London Traffic Cam by Embankment Station [https://qalerts.pub/?n=784], the image was of London traffic and Big Ben. The File Name of the picture was NSA_Traf_CAM_LONDON2847.png. 9 minutes later Q posted a stringer warning to the UK of a possible car attack.

3 Months later on May 20th 2018 Q posted a series of 3 pictures [https://qalerts.pub/?n=1423] from the same traffic camera which was rotated through 3 positions. Q was telling us this camera has a field of view from the Corinthia hotel and up the Victoria Embankment towards Parliament.

2 months later on the 27th of July 2018 Q reposted one of the previous pictures with people circled [https://qalerts.pub/?n=1720], this was tentatively identified as Lisa Page, lover of disgraced traitor and FBI goon Peter Strzok.

Q revists the theme again on February the 18th 2019 when Q posts 3 more pictures of the Corinthia hotel from the same camera [https://qalerts.pub/?n=2797] indicating that the couple may have been staying there.

17th May 2018 Pictures

On the 17th of May Q posted a series of pictures from two locations in London and several locations in China, there is likely a connection between the two. An anon posted a theory which Q quoted indicating that the theory was on the right lines. The China pics were of pallets of boxed technology (possibly secure satellite phones that operate on a Chinese satellite), the Foxconn factory and an airport with a Chinese plane at a gate. The theory suggested that China were supplying secure communication devices to the cabal so that they could communicate without sigint (Signals Intercept) by the NSA. The London connection is through Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the lovers were secretly in London (perhaps arriving by boat on the Thames to avoid official record of the visit) and being surveilled by the Q team the whole time. The theory stated they were either collecting or distributing these communication devices for other cabal members, Q also posted a picture from the plane and an Owl and the Space Shuttle.

In post 1405, which is the first of the 17th of May series, Q posted a picture of a red London Routemaster bus, Q also posted a Winter Wonderland picture of 2 peoples legs, The Red Bus picture was titled Fsurv_londonps1.png, Presumably someone in the picture is of interest, its likely this picture was posted to inform the person who is being surveilled that they were being watched. The Cool Britannia giftshop has similar archways to that of the temple on Epstein Island and the Aleppo Bathhouse Hammam Yalbugha.

Britain Wants Ukraine's Minerals Too

When U.K. officials signed a 100-year partnership with Ukraine in mid-January, they claimed to be Ukraine’s “preferred partner” in developing the country’s “critical minerals strategy.”

Yet within a month, U.S. President Donald Trump had presented a proposal to Ukraine’s President Volodymr Zelensky to access the country’s vast mineral resources as “compensation” for U.S. support to Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Whitehall was none too pleased about Washington muscling in.

When Foreign Secretary David Lammy met Zelensky in Kyiv last month he reportedly raised the issue of minerals, “a sign that [Keir] Starmer’s government is still keen to get access to Ukraine’s riches”, the iPaper reported.

Lammy earlier said, in a speech last year:

“Look around the world. Countries are scrambling to secure critical minerals, just as great powers once raced to control oil.”

The U.K. foreign secretary was correct, but Britain itself is one of those powers, and Ukraine is one of the major countries U.K. officials --- as well as the Trump administration — have their eyes on.

It’s no surprise why. Ukraine has around 20,000 mineral deposits covering 116 types of minerals such as beryllium, manganese, gallium, uranium, zirconium, rare earth metals and nickel.

The country, whose economy has been devastated by Russia’s brutal war, also possesses one of the world’s largest reserves of graphite, the largest titanium reserves in Europe, and a third of the continent’s lithium deposits.

These resources are key for industries such as military production, high tech, aerospace, and green energy.

In recent years, the Ukrainian government has sought to attract foreign investment to develop its critical mineral resources and signed strategic partnerships and held investment fora to showcase its mining opportunities.

The country has also begun auctioning exploration permits for minerals such as lithium, copper, cobalt and nickel, offering lucrative investment opportunities.

Media narratives largely parrot the U.K. government’s interests in Ukraine being about standing up to aggression. But Whitehall has in the past few years stepped up its interest in accessing the world’s critical minerals, not least in Ukraine.

Nusrat Ghani, a trade minister in Rishi Sunak’s government, held at least 10 meetings on the subject of critical minerals in 2023 and the first half of 2024, government transparency data shows.

Among the companies she met were giant U.K. mining corporations Rio Tinto and Anglo American, and arms exporter BAE Systems and military aerospace lobbyists, ADS.

It is not clear if Ukraine was the subject of these discussions but one other prominent firm Ghani met to discuss “mineral supply chains” was Rothschilds, which has extensive interests in Ukraine.

Ghani held a discussion with the Paris-headquartered global advisory firm in April 2023 while her successor Alan Mak did so the following year in May. Mak met the firm “to discuss Rothschild’s critical minerals work,” the data show.

The corporation was invited to the 2023 Ukraine Recovery Conference held in London and is a member of the U.K.-Ukraine Finance Partnership. It has also been the main adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance since 2017.

Rothschilds, on whose board sits former U.K. National Security Adviser Lord Mark Sedwill, has no less than $53 billion invested in Ukraine.

Writing recently in Unherd, researcher Sang-Haw Lee quotes a senior Labour figure saying the U.K. was involved in extensive negotiations for the whole of last year relating to securing exclusive access to Ukraine’s minerals, but that adequate government support was not forthcoming.

Some other meetings have crept into the public domain. Last April, two prominent U.K. parliamentarians met one of Ukraine’s largest mining investment companies in London to discuss “British-Ukrainian partnership in the field of critical minerals mining.”

BGV Group, which has investments of $100 million in Ukrainian mining projects, held discussions with then energy minister, Lord Martin Callanan, and Bob Seely, then a Conservative MP who sat on Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.

The company is seeking investors for its graphite and beryllium projects and said in a media release that “Ukraine has all the prerequisites to become one of Britain’s main suppliers of critical minerals crucial for advanced technologies and the green energy transition.”

“As Ukraine’s ultimate European ally, the U.K. could leverage its strong position within NATO to help secure mining sites and transportation routes”, writes Andriy Dovbenko, the founder of U.K.-Ukraine TechExchange.

A Russian captain of the container ship which crashed into a US oil tanker in the North Sea has been charged over the death of a crew member who is missing and presumed dead.

The Solong’s master Vladimir Motin, 59, of Primorsky, St Petersburg, in Russia, will appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with gross negligence manslaughter, Humberside Police said.

Filipino national Mark Angelo Pernia, 38, is presumed dead after going missing following the collision between the Solong ship and the US tanker the Stena Immaculate just before 10am on Monday.

Frank Ferguson, head of the Crown Prosecution Service Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, said: “We have authorised Humberside Police to charge a Russian national in relation to a collision involving two vessels in the North Sea off the east coast of England.

“The Portuguese-registered cargo ship, the Solong, collided with the American-registered oil tanker, the Stena Immaculate, just before 10am on Monday, 10 March 2025.

“Filipino national Mark Angelo Pernia, 38, died.

“Vladimir Motin, 59, from St Petersburg, Russia, who was the vessel’s captain, is due to be charged with one count of gross negligence manslaughter.

"The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are now active and that he has the right to a fair trial.

“It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."

A statement from Humberside Police said: “An investigation by Humberside Police supported by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) into the collision between a tanker and a cargo vessel in the North Sea, off the coast of East Yorkshire, has resulted in a man being charged, reports the Mirror.

“The captain of the Solong vessel, Vladimir Motin, 59 years old, of Primorsky, St Petersburg, Russia, has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter and been remanded in police custody to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court tomorrow."

It continues: “On Monday, 10 March, Humberside Police received a report at around 11am that a collision had occurred between the two vessels, resulting in one crew member being reported missing. Extensive searches were carried out by HM Coastguard to locate the missing crew member, now presumed deceased. The family are being supported by specialist trained officers and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”

The Stena Immaculate is still at anchor at the point where the collision happened, which is about 12 miles off the East Yorkshire coast, near Withernsea. The Solong drifted south of this location, to a point where it could be seen off the Lincolnshire coast.

Earlier today, chief coastguard Paddy O’Callaghan said the vessels are “stable” and salvors have boarded them both to continue damage assessments. He said: “There are now only small periodic pockets of fire on the Solong which are not causing undue concern.

“Specialist tugs with firefighting capability remain at both vessels’ locations. Regular aerial surveillance flights continue to monitor the vessels and confirm that there continues to be no cause for concern from pollution from either the Stena Immaculate or from the Solong.”

Mr O’Callaghan said: “The UK Health Security Agency is also assisting in the response, and continues to advise that any public health risk on shore is deemed to be very low. The UKSHA will keep risk assessments under continual review as further information becomes available.”

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB), which will lead the safety probe into the incident, has said that the Solong “altered course” at about 1.30am on Monday, as it passed to the east of Longstone lighthouse, on to “a heading of approximately 150 degrees”, which is a south-east direction.

The crash happened eight hours and 17 minutes later. The ship was travelling at about 16.4 knots, the MAIB added, the equivalent land speed for which is 18.9mph. The Solong frequently travelled between Grangemouth in Scotland and Rotterdam and regularly used the route it took on the day of the collision, the statement added.

Nicola Sturgeon has announced she is entering her final year as an MSP. The former first minister will join 18 other Nats in throwing in the towel at Holyrood, having spent nearly three decades at parliament agitating for the break up of the United Kingdom.

She leaves behind her a legacy of division and failure. Scottish Tory deputy leader Rachael Hamilton summed up the feelings of many when she said: "Nicola Sturgeon has been the most divisive Scottish politician of the devolution era."

While the spectre of Operation Branchform continues to hang over the one-time SNP leader, she will be hoping to carve out a lucrative career as her years on the political frontline come to an end. She will release her memoir this summer and has already notched up TV appearances on the likes of Loose Women and, memorably, ITV's general election coverage last year.

Sturgeon, 54, has been well paid for her stint as an MSP - and all at the British taxpayer's expense. The Scottish Express crunched the numbers and, even when erring on the side of caution, we can reveal that by the time she steps down next year, the Glasgow Southside MSP will have been entitled to almost £2.7 million in salaries and pension payments.

Even taking into account the fact Scottish ministers have voluntary opted to accept their ministerial pay at 2009 levels, Sturgeon will have trousered an estimated £2.4m from the public purse. The figure does not include her expenses over the years but does includes her first ministerial pension payments since 2023, payments that will continue even after she steps down, at which point she will also be eligible for an MSP's pension.

Sturgeon entered parliament in May 1999 and remained on a normal MSP's salary, which at that point was set at 87.5% of an MP's pay, until May 2007 when the SNP won a historic victory. She was immediately handed a place in the Scottish Cabinet - and a bumper pay rise - under her former friend, the late Alex Salmond.

In 2009, ministers effectively 'froze' their ministerial pay, although Sturgeon still took home nearly £100,000 a year. In November 2014, she became first minister, a position that would see her become, in theory at least, the highest-paid politician anywhere in the UK.

Her pay dropped to a basic MSPs income after she stepped down as FM in March 2023. MSPs will be handed a bumper £2,311 pay rise in April, meaning Sturgeon will step down on a salary of almost £75,000. During her time as a backbench MSP, Sturgeon has spoken in just six debates.

Commenting on her departure, Alastair Cameron, chair of the Scotland in Union group, said: "Like all SNP First Ministers, Nicola Sturgeon’s obsession with independence ruined relationships, damaged the economy and led to the neglect of all devolved policy areas. Her legacy is a divided Scotland.

"Future leaders should abandon the constitutional focus and instead prioritise the things people really care about like schools, hospitals and jobs. Ms Sturgeon's resignation from frontline politics presents an opportunity for Scotland finally to move on from years of divisive and destructive nationalism."

WEF Demands Global Ban on Homegrown Food to Meet ‘Net Zero’

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is demanding that global governments enforce bans on members of the general public growing food at home in order to supposedly lower “emissions.”

The globalist organization claims that homegrown food contributes to “climate change.”

The WEF argues that banning homegrown food will help governments comply with their targets for meeting “Net Zero” by 2030.

In order to comply with the WEF’s “Net Zero” targets, governments must drastically reduce “carbon emissions” by 2030 and completely eliminate them by 2050.

According to so-called “experts” behind a recent WEF study, researchers apparently discovered that the “carbon footprint” of homegrown food is “destroying the planet.”

As a result, the WEF and other globalist climate zealots are now demanding that governments intervene and ban individuals from growing their own food in order to “save the planet” from “global warming.”

Globalists insist that allowing citizens to grow their own food will undermine efforts to meet the goals of the “Net Zero” agenda as dictated by the WEF and the United Nations (UN).

The research indicated that garden-to-table produce causes a far greater carbon footprint than conventional agricultural practices, such as those on rural farms.

This research, conducted by WEF-funded scientists at the University of Michigan, was published in the journal Nature Cities.

The study looked at different types of urban farms to see how much carbon dioxide (CO2) was produced when growing food.

On average, a serving of food made from traditional farms creates 0.07 kilograms (kg) of CO2, according to the study.

However, the WEF-funded researchers claim that the impact on the environment is almost five times higher at 0.34kg per portion for individual city gardens.

The paper’s first author Jake Hawes, said:

“The most significant contributor to carbon emissions on the urban agriculture sites we studied was the infrastructure used to grow the food, from raised beds to garden sheds to pathways, these constructions had a lot of carbon invested in their construction.”

The study recruited 73 urban agriculture sites around the world.

Those farms included some in Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The researchers say they conducted a comprehensive life cycle assessment on the site’s infrastructure, irrigation, and supplies.

Hawes and his teammates grouped urban agriculture sites into three categories: individual or family gardens, including allotments; collective gardens, such as community gardens; and larger, commercial-orientated urban farms.

The researchers also found other factors that they claimed are “hazardous” when it comes to impacting the alleged “climate crisis.”

Poorly managed compost and other synthetic inputs contribute to “global warming,” they warned.

They further advised that fruit was 8.6 times more “eco-friendly” when grown conventionally compared to in a city.

Vegetables, meanwhile, were 5.8 times better for the environment when left to the professionals, they claim.

Moreover, two-thirds of the “carbon footprint” of allotments is created by the garden itself, as per their data.

Nevertheless, they insist that people should be limited when it comes to keeping plants inside their homes, as well as growing food in their gardens.

Urban gardeners used to have no qualms about greening their indoor spaces.

For one, this reduces city living anxieties and emotional stress.

Also, being able to take care of plants inside their offices and homes could be part of interior design and a slight improvement in air quality.

However, climate alarmists are not going to give city dwellers peace of mind.

According to the WEF researchers, greening indoor spaces can also come at an environmental cost.

They cite “carbon emissions” from the trucks that transport plants, plastic pots, and synthetic fertilizers.

These, they said, are made from petroleum, and the harvesting of soil components like peat can “tear up slow-forming habitats.”

Susan Pell, the director of the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C., downplayed the narrative.

Pell argues that members of the general public should at least still be able to grow potted plants at home, even if they can’t buy them.

They just need to consider the “environmental harm of indoor gardening,” she claims.

The news comes amid a growing war against the food supply to supposedly fight [the] “global warming.” [scam]

As Slay News reported, 14 major American cities have set a “target” to comply with the WEF’s green agenda goals by banning meat and dairy products by 2030.

The agreement also seeks to ban private car ownership and place other restrictions on public freedoms to meet the WEF’s “Net Zero” goals.

The U.S. cities have formed a coalition called the “C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group” (C40), which has established an “ambitious target” to meet the WEF’s goals by the year 2030.

To fulfill the “target,” the C40 Cities have pledged that their residents will comply with the following list of mandatory rules:

“0 kg [of] meat consumption”

“0 kg [of] dairy consumption”

“3 new clothing items per person per year”

“0 private vehicles” owned

“1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person”

The last remaining pilot who took part in the Battle of Britain in the Second World War has passed away at the age of 105. John A. Hemingway, the last known survivor of the Royal Air Force (RAF) pilots who were pivotal in the fighting, passed away in Dublin, Ireland, the RAF announced.

Known as Paddy, Hemingway flew Hurricane fighters during the crucial air campaign that occurred from July 10 to October 31, 1940.The battle was a turning point in the war as RAF pilots prevented Adolf Hitler’s Operation Sea Lion, a planned invasion of the British Isles.

The RAF had just 749 fighter aircraft against the German Luftwaffe’s 2,550. Despite being outnumbered, the British pilots succeeded in holding off German bombers and securing the air space above Britain.

Winston Churchill, the then-Prime Minister of Britain, acknowledged the valor of the RAF pilots during an address to the House of Commons in August 1940. In his tribute, Churchill stated, “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

Throughout World War II, Hemingway flew missions over France, Britain, and Italy,surviving being shot down four times between 1940 and 1945. In July 1941, he was awarded Britain’s Distinguished Flying Cross for his bravery in combat.

The death of Hemingway comes as some fear the potential of a Third World War amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. President Donald J. Trump aims to end the conflict and has explicitly told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky he is gambling with World War Three by resisting a ceasefire.

UK Judges Rule That Docs Revealing Close Ties Between Disgraced Prince Andrew and Alleged Chinese Spy Yang Tengbo Must Be Released in Two Weeks

Another week, another damaging report brought Prince Andrew’s alleged corruption to the forefront of British public opinion.

A London tribunal has ruled that private documents of the correspondence between Andrew’s top adviser and an alleged Chinese spy must be made public in a fortnight.

Dominic Hampshire, an aide and close friend of the Duke, had to submit a witness statement after Chinese businessman Yang Tengbo was expelled and banned from the UK.

The Telegraph reported:

“Mr. Yang was forced to leave the country on national security grounds in March 2023 and unsuccessfully challenged the decision at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission last year. UK authorities have alleged that he formed an ‘unusual degree of trust’ with the Duke and developed relationships with politicians to be ‘leveraged’ by China.”

Yang denied all allegations, stating that he never did anything unlawful.

Media organizations have demanded that key documents in the case, including Mr. Hampshire’s statement, be released. And now, three judges ruled on Friday that his statement, and some commercial information related to Yang, is to be be disclosed.

“In a 25-page judgment, Mr. Justice Bourne, sitting with Judge Stephen Smith and Sir Stewart Eldon, said: ‘Substantial parts of the witness statement contain material which cannot possibly be said to be confidential, such as information about Mr. Hampshire’s background or about how he came to know Mr. Yang. There are also comments about Mr. Hampshire’s work with the Duke, which might seem embarrassing or indiscreet, but they are not such as to give rise to the inference that a legal duty of confidentiality attaches to them’.”

“The judges also ruled that commercial information relating to Mr Yang’s business dealings could be published. They said: ‘There is substantial public interest in reporting of international trading activity involving UK companies and in any involvement of any member of the Royal family in that activity’.”

All the documents must be provided by April 4.

A convicted pedophile has escaped deportation from the UK to his native country of Pakistan after a judge ruled that he would face “inhuman or degrading treatment” there for being an alcoholic.

The man was released from prison after serving sentences for sex offences, but was subsequently charged again after assaulting a teenage girl.

The Home Office issued a deportation order, however, the guy successfully appealed it using the European Convention on Human Rights whilst serving another one year sentence in prison.

His legal representatives argued that without proper treatment for his addiction in Pakistan, his “uncontrollable” alcoholism could worsen and potentially lead to “further suffering.”

Respondents on X expressed disbelief at the UK justice system, with many pointing out that there are people currently serving longer prison sentences for spicy tweets.

What happens to him in his own country is his own problem.

‘Kafkaesque’ --- UK Police Arrest Parents over Complaining About Their Daughter’s School in WhatsApp Group

British police have been accused of acting in a “Kafkaesque” manner after they arrested the parents of a nine-year-old girl over complaints they made about her primary school on WhatsApp.

Following a five week investigation, in January, Hertfordshire Police arrested Maxie Allen and Rosalind Levin in front of their daughter and placed in cell on suspicion of malicious communications, harassment, and causing a nuisance on school property over comments they made online about the Cowley Hill Primary School in Borehamwood, The Times of London reported on Saturday.

The dispute between the couple and the school is said to have began in May of 2024 when Allen questioned the process to replace the head teacher after the previous head had announced his retirement. The following month, the chairwoman of the school governors is claimed to have sent the parents a warning over causing “disharmony”.

The school reportedly went on to ban Allen and Levin from entering the grounds, demanding that they only communicate through email. The couple attempted to convince the school to lift the ban through numerous emails, noting that their nine-year-old daughter suffered from epilepsy.

The couple were also allegedly accused by the school of making “disparaging” remarks about the school and “casting aspersions” in a parents’ group on the WhatsApp messaging service, prompting the school to contact police. In December, the local police are said to have told the parents to remove their child from the school, which they ultimately did in January.

However, a week later, police turned up at their doorstep and arrested the parents in full view of their daughter. They spent the next 11 hours at the station before being released around midnight, according to the paper.

Mr Allen, a producer for Times Radio, a digital broadcaster owned by the same group as the Times of London, told the paper that the school’s tactics were meant to “silence awkward parents” and accused the police of a “massive overreach” by arresting them.

“We’d never used abusive or threatening language, even in private, and always followed due process,” Allen said. “Yet we have never even been told what these communications were that were supposedly criminal, which is completely Kafkaesque.”

Levin added that she thought her daughter had died when the police came to her door, saying that she “could not think of any other reason why six police officers would be at my door”.

Heartfordshire Police ultimately chose not to take any further action after the arrest. A spokesman said: “The arrests were necessary to fully investigate the allegations as is routine in these types of matters. Following further investigations, officers deemed that no further action should be taken due to insufficient evidence.”

A Cowley Hill Primary school spokesman said: “We sought advice from the police following a high volume of direct correspondence and public social media posts from two parents, as this was becoming upsetting for staff, parents and governors.

“We’re always happy for parents to raise concerns, but we do ask that they do this in a suitable way, and in line with the school’s published complaints procedure.”

The case has been cited as yet another example of the waning speech rights in Britain. The encroachment against freedom of speech in the UK was highlighted the following month after the couple were arrested by U.S. Vice President JD Vance during a speech at the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Vance warned that freedom of speech “is in retreat” in Britain and Europe and proclaimed that the greatest danger facing the continent comes from “within” rather than countries like Russia or China.

Third Former Rotherham Police Officer Arrested Over Child Sex Abuse Investigation

A former police officer accused of raping a teenager in child-sex scandal town Rotherham has been arrested, the third such arrest in the investigation so far.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) announced a former police constable of the South Yorkshire Police was arrested on Monday. The former officer, a man in his 50s, is suspected of raping a teenage girl in the town of Rotherham in 2004.

IOPC spokesman Emily Barry said the investigation into the South Yorkshire Police is being conducted by the South Yorkshire Police under the Office’s direction, and that they have received complaints against police officers from six women. This new arrest pertains to the sixth and latest woman to come forward, she said.

Barry said: “These complaints are being handled sensitively and thoroughly investigated and a third former officer has now been arrested. At the end of the investigation we will decide whether a file of evidence will be referred to the Crown Prosecution Service to consider criminal charges.”

As previously reported, two former police officers were arrested on suspicion of child sex abuse last year. One of those former officers, a man in his 60s has been arrested twice over the course of the investigation in relation to separate allegations, including alleged child sex abuse against a victim between 1997 and 2002, and indecent assault against two other girls between 1995 and 1999.

A second former officer, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of “sexual assault and misconduct in public office and one count of indecent assault in connection to incidents that reportedly occurred around 1995-1996.”

the alleged attacks took place while the Rotherham-based police officers “were both on and off duty”… The arrests follow the IOPC’s Operation Linden, one of its largest investigations ever, which investigated the actions of South Yorkshire Police around the mass rape of children in Rotherham. The IOPC was moved earlier this month to deny it had attempted to bury its findings, or that it had been told not to investigate senior officers, characterising these whistle blower claims as “completely inaccurate”.

An estimated 1,400 young girls were sexually abused by predominantly Pakistani gang members in the town, the Jay and Casey reports found.

New UK Internet Policing Law Targets US Online Forums

Online forums based in the United States that rely on First Amendment protections are getting caught up in internet regulations in the UK, where they now risk being blocked under recent legislation.

Hailed by the British government as the world’s first online safety law, the Online Safety Act (OSA) became law in October 2023, but the duties related to the regulation of so-called illegal content took effect on March 17.

The law requires online platforms to implement measures to protect people in the UK from criminal activity, with far-reaching implications for the internet.

Gab, an American social media network, positions itself as a champion of free speech.

Gab CEO Andrew Torba said in a March 26 social media post that the UK government has demanded that it submit to “their new censorship regime under the UK Online Safety Act.”

Gab---which has no legal presence in the UK—was informed in a letter from UK regulator Ofcom on March 16 that it falls specifically within the scope of the law and must comply.

Under the OSA, sites that allow user interaction, including forums, must have completed an illegal harm risk assessment by March 16 and submitted it to Ofcom by March 31.

Ofcom warned that noncompliance could result in enforcement action---including massive fines of 18 million pounds (more than $23 million), or 10 percent of a company’s annual revenue—or even court orders to block access in the UK.

OSA was designed to ensure tech companies take more responsibility for user safety.

Under the act, social media platforms and other user-to-user service providers must proactively police harmful and illegal content such as revenge and extreme pornography, sex trafficking, harassment, coercive or controlling behavior, and cyberstalking.

Gab has refused to comply with the OSA.

“We will not comply. We will not pay one cent,” Torba said.

In a statement to The Epoch Times, Gab said that this “law operates outside their jurisdiction.”

Gab’s lawyers said that their client is a U.S. company with no presence outside of the United States.

“The most fundamental of America’s laws---the First Amendment to our Constitution—ensures Gab’s right to provide a service that allows anyone, anywhere, to receive and impart political opinions of any kind, free from state interference, on its US-based servers,” they said in a statement last month.

In 2018, Gab was cut off by payment processors after 46-year-old Robert Bowers allegedly posted anti-Semitic comments on the platform just hours before shooting to death 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue.

“I was horrified that this terrorist, this alleged terrorist, was on our site,” Torba said at the time.

Gab also refused to comply with legislation in other countries.

The company claimed it received a data request from the German government concerning a user who, in 2022, made a comment that was deemed offensive by a German politician.

“This comment, which referred to the politician’s weight, has prompted the German government to demand that we hand over the user’s data so they can identify and potentially imprison them for up to five years,” Torba said at the time.

Gab has also been banned from Google and Apple app stores, as both require apps to enforce strict content moderation policies.

Web forum Kiwifarms said it also received a letter from Ofcom.

The platform is now blocking users in the UK because of the legislation.

British users are now greeted with a message:

“You are accessing this website from the United Kingdom. This is not a good idea. The letter states the UK asserts authority over any website that has a ’significant number of United Kingdom users’. This ambiguous metric could include any site on the Internet and specifically takes aim at the people using a website instead of the website itself.”

The unsigned message added that the situation in the UK is “now so dire I fear for the safety of any user connecting to the Internet from the country.”

The law has already affected dozens of smaller UK websites, from forums for cyclists, hobbyists, and hamster owners, to those supporting divorced fathers.

European pharma companies warn Trump's tariffs could expedite shift to US

FRANKFURT/LONDON, April 8 (Reuters) - European pharma companies warned the European Commission president at a meeting on Tuesday that U.S. tariffs would expedite the industry's shift away from Europe and toward the United States.

Pharma trade lobby EFPIA, whose members include European pharma giants Bayer (BAYGn.DE), Novartis (NOVN.S), and Novo Nordisk (NOVOb.CO) said it had called on EU President Ursula von der Leyen to push for "rapid and radical action" to mitigate the "risk of exodus" to the United States.

Pharmaceuticals were exempt from sweeping tariffs on U.S. imports announced by President Donald Trump last week but he has said they will face separate tariffs.

EFPIA said the EU needs to change its regulatory framework for the industry to make it more conducive to innovation and strengthen Europe's intellectual property provisions.

The demands were not new. EFPIA has repeatedly warned that Europe's pharma sector will lose out to increased competition from the United States, China and emerging markets if the EU does not amend a proposed revamp of laws governing the sector.

"Now with the uncertainty created by the threat of tariffs, there is little incentive to invest in the EU and significant drivers to relocate to the U.S.," the EFPIA statement read.

A statement from the commission said Novo Nordisk, Novartis, Fresenius, Sanofi, Bayer, Gedeon Richter and Ipsen Chiesi attended the call.

Further, the statement said the industry raised "strong concerns" about the wider impact of U.S. tariffs on global supply chains and medicine availabilities in Europe as well as regulatory barriers within the EU.

The industry also pushed for simpler "procedures for clinical trials and digitalisation of the European health system, as well as for protection of intellectual property. They urged ambition and speed with upcoming initiatives … notably the EU Biotech Act," the statement added.

Biotech lobby Europabio, the European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs and generics trade group Medicines for Europe also attended the meeting.

Europe and the United States have interconnected supply chains for medicines. The United States depends on medicines partly produced in Europe that bring in hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue.

EU medical and pharmaceutical product exports to the United States totalled about 90 billion euros ($97.05 billion) in 2023, according to the latest Eurostat data.

European pharma giants have recently been expanding production facilities in the United States.

The United States is the biggest pharma market by sales for big pharma companies, both U.S. and European headquartered ones. Sales in North America accounted for nearly 50% of world pharmaceutical sales in 2021, compared with nearly 25% for Europe, according to EFPIA.

The European Commission proposed counter-tariffs on Monday of 25% on a range of U.S. goods, including soybeans, nuts and motorcycles.

Minority Report: UK Government Developing 'Murder Prediction' Program

The UK government is in the process of developing a system to predict whether people will commit homicide in the future.

What could possibly go wrong with that?

The idea is the literal plot line of Philip K. Dick’s dystopian story ‘Minority Report,’ where individuals are arrested before they are able to commit crimes thanks to a ‘precrime’ predictive policing system.

It’s the exact same thing, minus the mutant human precogs. In reality the program will be much more boring, using ‘algorithms’ to churn through data and spit out results.

Given that the data will presumably include spicy social media posts, which are now being punished with prison sentences in the UK, you can see where this is going.

The UK government is developing a ‘murder prediction’ programme which it hopes can use personal data of those known to the authorities to identify the people most likely to become killers.

Researchers are alleged to be using algorithms to analyse the information of thousands of people, including victims of crime, as they try to identify those at greatest risk of committing serious violent offences.

The scheme was originally called the ‘homicide prediction project,’ but its name has been changed to ‘sharing data to improve risk assessment.’ The Ministry of Justice hopes the project will help boost public safety but campaigners have called it ‘chilling and dystopian.’

Scunthorpe’s Chinese parent company has said the site is hemorrhaging money due to tariffs and rising energy costs

The British government has opened the door to nationalizing the last primary steelmaking plant in the UK in an emergency bid to keep its blast furnaces running.

According toBritish Steel’s owner, Chinese company Jingye, the Scunthorpe plant has been operating at a loss of some £700,000 ($916,000) a day, affected by President Donald Trump’s 25% tariffs on steel imports into the US, massive CO2 emission fees, and high UK energy prices. The factory’s parent company reportedlyturned down a £500 million offer from the British governmentto keep its blast furnace “virgin steel production” working.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer recalled lawmakers from Easter recess to pass an emergency bill that would allow the UK to step in and take control of any “steel undertaking” at risk of stoppage.Such a recall of parliament has not happened since the Falklands War in 1982.

“The Secretary of State may do anything for the purpose of securing the continued and safe use of the specified assets [of] the steel undertaking”in the event the assets “are at risk of ceasing to be used,” the bill passed on Saturday reads.

Starmer said the government had stepped in to protect UK steel manufacturing.

“All options are on the table to secure the future of the industry,” he said in a statement on X on Saturday.

Jingye retains ownership of the plant as of now, but nationalization is a “likely option,” according to State Secretary for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds.

The UK is currently looking for a company to buy and take over British Steel, according to the BBC.

In a statement to the British state broadcaster, Reynolds said that themarket value of the business was “effectively zero” and the UK taxpayer would have to shoulder the steel plant’s £700,000 a day losses.

UK Supreme Court Delivers Major Blow to Trans Lobby --- Rules ‘Woman’ Only Refers to Biological Females

The United Kingdom’s Supreme Court has ruled that the term “woman” refers to a biological female.

The case, which was originally brought by transgender-skeptical feminists against the regional Scottish government, sought to establish in law whether the word woman referred to a biological female or included people who identify as such.

“The unanimous decision of this court is that the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 2010 refer to a biological woman and biological sex,” Patrick Hodge, deputy president of the Supreme Court, said as he delivered his judgment on Wednesday.

“Therefore, a person with a Gender Recognition Certificate in the female gender does not come within the definition of a ‘woman’ under the Equality Act 2010 and the statutory guidance issued by the Scottish ministers is incorrect.”

The Labour government accepted the ruling, stating that it had given “clarity and confidence” for women on the issue of single-sex spaces.

“Single-sex spaces are protected in law and will always be protected by this government,” a spokesperson said in a statement following the ruling.

Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch, a former equalities minister, hailed the ruling as a “victory for all of the women who faced personal abuse or lost their jobs for stating the obvious.”

“Saying ‘trans women are women’ was never true in fact, and now isn’t true in law either,” she said.

Meanwhile, Maggie Chapman of the Scottish Greens and a member of the Scottish Parliament, denounced the decision as “deeply concerning” and “a huge blow to some of the most marginalised people in our society.”

She added that trans people were now “deeply anxious and worried about how their lives will be affected and about what will come next,” she said.

The ruling is a devastating blow to Britain’s aggressive trans lobby, which has sought to redefine what the term “women” and grant transgender women access the exact same societal and cultural rights as biological females.

Similar to the United States, Britain has seen an explosion of transgender identification and surgeries over the past decade.

An analysis carried out in November 2023 found that the number of people identifying as transgender had risen five-fold since 2000, with a large proportion of them going through with genital mutiliation surgeries to try and reflect their new-found gender.

To overcome this, the Open Justice UK team started a crowdfunding campaign and has raised over £100,000. So far, they have submitted 33 court transcript requests; 14 have been partially approved and 5 rejected, including one by Justice Jonathan Rose who claimed releasing the transcript would be “contrary to the public interest.”

Last week, Conservative Member of Parliament Katie Lam confronted Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips in Parliament over Labour’s diluted promises of local grooming gang inquiries. It went viral. Some of Ms. Lam’s revelations came from the transcripts Open Justice UK had obtained.

The Man Forcing Open Britain’s Buried Grooming Gang Files

Some may not have heard of Adam Wren. But he and his team have done more for grooming/rape gang survivors in a few months than entire government departments have in years.

Adam runs Open Justice UK, a small but relentless outfit pushing for transparency in the courts. In just a few months, his campaign has triggered the release of dozens of long-buried grooming gang trial transcripts.

His mission began in January, as public anger resurfaced and the Labour government made fresh promises of local inquiries. It was then that Adam noticed something odd: many key court transcripts still weren’t public. So, he started digging. What he found in many cases wasn’t a web of national security concerns or legal gag orders -- but unpaid fees.

If you want either all or part of a court transcript in Britain, you must pay for it. The records are accessible -- but they come with a price.

Adam highlighted one case in a recent GB News interview: a rape survivor who was quoted £7,000 to obtain a trial transcript. That’s not a typo. Seven thousand pounds -- for someone to access evidence of the abuse that happened to them.

So, Adam launched a crowdfunder. It exploded. Within weeks, Open Justice UK had raised over £100,000. Then came the real work.

Adam and his team mapped 450 defendants across 90 separate grooming trials. They cross-referenced names, charges and outcomes, identifying which transcripts had been sealed, redacted or buried.

They’ve submitted 33 transcript requests so far. Fourteen were approved -- partially. Five were rejected outright. None have been released in full.

But those five rejections were revealing.

One, in particular, caught national attention last week. Justice Jonathan Rose refused to release the full transcript from a 2016 trial at Bradford Crown Court, where twelve men were convicted for the abuse of a 13-year-old girl in Keighley.

For context, Bradford has long been a hotspot for some of the country’s most insidious grooming/rape gang cases. Underage girls were abused while living in children’s care homes -- a place you’d expect to find not just protection, but over-protection, if anything. In another case, a 13-year-old girl was exploited by as many as 100 men.

Rose claimed that releasing the transcript would be “contrary to the public interest.” He added that doing so would be inappropriate “in the context of the public debate now taking place in general concerning cases such as this which are said to be part of a currency of offending in this city and elsewhere.”

It constituted one hell of a word salad. But basically, public debate is apparently a problem. Transparency, thus, is not allowed.

Adam called the decision “ridiculous.” He said the court censored key information. Others suggested Rose did so to control public conversation.

In a recent article, Adam and Melisa Tourt, a policy communications specialist on the Open Justice UK team, revealed more about the issues they’ve encountered with other requests.

Earlier this year, they submitted two identical transcript requests -- one to Sheffield Crown Court, and one to the Central Criminal Court (aka Old Bailey) – each relating to grooming gang convictions.

Sheffield approved the request without hesitation. The transcript is now being processed.

But the Old Bailey refused. Their reason? The case “involved child sexual exploitation” and would be subject to reporting restrictions to “protect the anonymity of victim(s)” -- despite those same conditions being present in the Sheffield case.

Another obvious refutation: if anonymity is the issue, redact the victim’s name. After all, when these trials were being conducted, any member of the public could sit in court and hear most proceedings in full.

The whole system is corrupt (IMO), it needs changing. Politicians need to be held accountable for their words and actions, not just a public "humiliation" through media, then moved on to a cushy job with a nice salary.

I also think we need to punish those that say they are doing something for "the benefit of the country". Why not for the benefit for the people of the country? Every time they mention "for the benefit of the country", the people of the country suffer. It's almost like doing it for social credit, they look good on the world stage, they toe the line, they can keep their masters happy, keep money (debt) flowing into the country.

Keir Starmer U-turns to say trans women are not women after Supreme Court ruling

Keir Starmer no longer believes trans women are women in the wake of last week’s landmark Supreme Court ruling.

The prime minister has previously said that “trans women are women”, but asked to repeat that statement on Tuesday he pointed to the judgment, which ruled the term woman referred to biological sex, saying it had “answered that question”.

Downing Street later confirmed the U-turn. Asked if the PM still believed that a transgender woman was a woman, his official spokesman said: “No, the Supreme Court judgment has made clear that when looking at the Equality Act, a woman is a biological woman. That is set out clearly by the court judgment.”

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch accused Sir Keir of peddling a “shameless work of fiction” over his U-turn.

She added: "Labour now says that they know what a woman is and that transgender people should use services and facilities designated to their biological sex. They've never said this before. This is a U-turn but we welcome it."

His comments came just hours after the equalities minister Bridget Phillipson said trans women should use male toilets, adding that “services should be accessed on the basis of biological sex”.

Later she praised JK Rowling after she was asked in the Commons about the Harry Potter author, a long-time campaigner on this issue.

She said she paid “tribute to all of those women”, who included Ms Rowling and the swimmer Sharron Davies.

In last week’s long-awaited judgment, the UK’s highest court confirmed the terms “woman” and “sex” in the 2010 Equality Act “refer to a biological woman and biological sex”.

Asked about the issue on Tuesday, Sir Keir said that a woman was an “adult female”. And, in his first public comments since the justices’ decision on 16 April, the Labour leader said he was “really pleased” with the clarity offered by the court’s ruling.

He said the judgment was a “welcome step forward” adding: “It’s real clarity in an area where we did need clarity, I’m pleased it’s come about. We need to move and make sure that we now ensure that all guidance is in the right place according to that judgment.”

In March 2022, before he entered No 10, Sir Keir told The Times that “a woman is a female adult, and in addition to that trans women are women, and that is not just my view, that is actually the law”.

A year later he appeared to change his position, stating that 99.9 per cent of women “haven’t got a penis”.

In recent days former Supreme Court judge Jonathan Sumption has warned that organisations are potentially misinterpreting the landmark ruling, arguing it did not create an obligation to provide single-sex spaces.

Instead, Lord Sumption argued that while many have taken the ruling to mean that service providers are obliged to provide single-sex spaces based on biological sex, the ruling meant that excluding transgender people from single-sex spaces was allowed, and not a breach of the 2010 Equality Act.

Report: Scientists Look to Dim the Sun to Counter ‘Runaway Climate Change’

The UK government is poised to approve experiments that seek ways to dim sunlight and deflect it away to fight “runaway climate change,” a report Wednesday claims.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a host of possible options for climate control are being considered by scientists with government approval alongside £50 million in taxpayer funds:

Outdoor field trials which could include injecting aerosols into the atmosphere, or brightening clouds to reflect sunshine, are being considered by scientists as a way to prevent runaway climate change.

Aria, the Government’s advanced research and invention funding agency, has set aside £50 million for projects, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Prof Mark Symes, the programme director for Aria (Advanced Research and Invention Agency), is reported by the Telegraph to have confirmed there will be, “small controlled outdoor experiments on particular approaches”.

“We will be announcing who we have given funding to in a few weeks and when we do so we will be making clear when any outdoor experiments might be taking place,” he said.

UK’s Carrier Strike Group Sets Sail for Eight-Month Indo-Pacific Deployment

The Royal Navy‘s flagship HMS Prince of Wales departed Portsmouth today, leading the UK’s premier naval deployment of 2025. The carrier strike group embarks on an ambitious eight-month mission spanning from the Atlantic to the Pacific, demonstrating the UK’s commitment to maintaining global maritime security.

Operation Highmast, as the mission is known, will see the strike group conducting exercises with a dozen allied nations across the Mediterranean, Middle East, South-east Asia, Japan, and Australia. The deployment represents a significant show of force, coming at a time of increased global tensions.

“Working closely with partners from across the globe, Operation Highmast will demonstrate credible deterrence and our support to NATO and the rules-based international order,” said Commodore James Blackmore, commanding the operation from HMS Prince of Wales.

UK takes control of British Steel under emergency powers

The UK government is taking control of Chinese-owned British Steel after emergency legislation was rushed through Parliament in a single day.

Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds told MPs the government's likely next step would be to nationalise the Scunthorpe plant, which employs 2,700 people.

But he said he was forced to seek emergency powers to prevent owners Jingye shutting down its two blast furnaces, which would have ended primary steel production in the UK.

MPs and peers were called back from their Easter holidays to debate the legislation in an extremely rare Saturday sitting of both houses of Parliament. It has now received Royal Assent after being passed by the Commons and Lords.

The BBC understands UK government officials are at the Scunthorpe site ready to take control of operations.

After the legislation was given royal assent, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: "Today, my government has stepped in to save British steel.

"We are acting to protect the jobs of thousands of workers, and all options are on the table to secure the future of the industry."

He said steel made in Britain "will be the backbone as we get Britain building once more," adding: "Our industry is the pride of our history -- and I want it to be our future, too."

Speaking to steelworkers earlier on Saturday at a village hall near Scunthorpe, Sir Keir said: "You are the people who have kept this going."

It came as several hundred people, including steelworkers and their families, took part in a march and a rally at Scunthorpe United's Glanford Park stadium, chanting "we want our steel back".

British Steel worker Rob Barroclough told the BBC: "Our family, like many others, is built around the steelworks. Who knows… my boys might end up working there one day, if it can be saved."

He added: "We're hoping for the best but planning for the worst."

Meanwhile, it has emerged that police were called to the steel works this morning after a suspected breach of the peace.

Jingye officials have been on-site regularly in recent days, and it's thought that relations between them and the workers have become increasingly tense.

Sources told BBC News that when Jingye executives arrived at the plant this morning, the automatic number plate recognition scanners didn't allow them through the site barriers.

Humberside Police said officers conducted checks and spoke to individuals but that there were no concerns raised and no arrests were made.

The legislation going through Parliament was not resisted by opposition parties -- but the Conservatives said the government should have acted sooner and made "a total pig's breakfast of this whole arrangement".

The new law hands Reynolds sweeping powers to control management and workers at the plant to ensure production continues, including entering it by force, if necessary, to secure assets.

But Jingye will retain ownership of it for now.

The government remains hopeful it can secure private investment to save the loss-making plant, but ministers concede there are currently no companies willing to make an offer.

In the Commons, Reynolds acknowledged that public ownership was "the likely option".

He said the government would "pay the fair market rate" to shareholders in the event of nationalisation but added: "In this case the market value is effectively zero."

Keeping a loss-making plant open could come at a high cost to taxpayers.

But Reynolds insisted it was in the "national interest" to retain the ability to make steel from scratch and he believed the company had a future, particularly as the government was boosting infrastructure spending.

"Steel is fundamental to Britain's industrial strength, to our security, and to our identity as a primary global power", he told MPs.

He said he had been forced to take over the running of the plant because Jingye, which bought British Steel in 2020, had rejected the government's offers to buy raw materials to keep the blast furnaces running.

"Despite our offer to Jingye being substantial, they wanted much more. Frankly, an excessive amount. We did however remain committed to negotiation.

"But over the last few days, it became clear that the intention of Jingye was to refuse to purchase sufficient raw material to keep the blast furnaces running, in fact, their intention was to cancel and refuse to pay for existing orders.

"The company would therefore have irrevocably and unilaterally closed down primary steel making at British Steel."

Nigel Farage has joined a cross party effort to force the left-wing Labour government to launch a national inquiry into the failures to safeguard young girls from Muslim child rape grooming gangs as his party said it will include a pledge to hold a national inquiry in its next election manifesto.

“If Labour refuses to hold an inquiry, Reform’s manifesto at the next election will commit to legislation for an Inquiry, with statutory powers, into the gangs introduced to Parliament in the first month of the Reform government,” Mr Farage told GB News on Tuesday.

The vow comes as Mr Farage joined a bipartisan campaign launched by the Crush Crime group to pass legislation mandating that the left-wing Labour Party government hold an 18-month national inquiry, which would have subpoena powers to compel witnesses to testify, unlike previous, more limited inquiries.

In addition to the Reform boss, those supporting the effort include Labour peer Lord Glasman, Tory Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp, and Conservative frontbencher Katie Lam, The Telegraph reported.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s government has shot down past demands for a national inquiry, which could threaten to expose the potential role played by local officials in covering up the decades of sexual abuse and rape suffered by mostly young, impoverished white girls at the hands of mostly Pakistani-heritage men. Some victims were even blamed by police for the abuse they suffered, with girls as young as 12 being accused of prostituting themselves despite being too young to consent to sex.

In previous inquiries, police and other local officials in predominantly Labour-run areas were accused of overlooking the heinous crimes for fear that they would appear racist. Starmer attempted to claim in January that those demanding a full national inquiry were jumping on the “bandwagon of the far-right”.

Breaking from his party leadership, Labour peer Lord Glasman said: “The gangs are still operating. The British public expect action so the police and other services finally get a grip of this disgrace. I support an inquiry to get to the truth and improve how all parts of the state deal with sexual abuse of children”.

Mr Farage, who has been raising the issue for over a decade, added: “Labour and Tories have failed on the grooming gangs. They have failed to bring justice to the thousands of victims across multiple decades of these horrific crimes. They have failed to hold anyone in authority to account for years of cover-ups and failure.

“We must have a comprehensive inquiry that no authority or offender can hide from. We must stop the judges keeping these criminal trials secret, an outrageous recent development that the government ignores. We must have a national inquiry so we stop the gangs that are still organising the sexual abuse of children today.”

The issue was raised in the House of Commons on Monday by Reform MP Lee Anderson, who questioned if the government’s Minister Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, Labour MP Jess Phillips, was “part” of the cover-up.

Philips, who has previously shot down other calls for a national inquiry, claiming that past reports and planned local investigations were sufficient, said in response that Anderson’s question “doesn’t deserve” a response.

Nevertheless, she added: “I have spent my entire career helping. There is absolutely no way I would be part of any cover-up. I will do everything I can to make sure those responsible are held accountable.”

Phillips later admitted that there were cover-ups, saying that local inquiries “told us that this happened, and the national inquiry that has told us that there were cover-ups.”

“What we must focus on is to make sure -- like what happened in Telford – that there is a local process of accountability that actually changes things on the ground. That is what I’ll do.”

However, the most important victory of the night came in the Runcorn by-election, where the Reform overturned a massive Labour majority and ended up winning by just six votes.

Similar to the GOP, Reform’s policies including deporting all illegal immigrants, cutting taxes, ending Net Zero, eliminating DEI and reasserting a sense of national pride.

Farage, who is a big supporter of Donald Trump, wrote on the X platform that Reform is “now the opposition party to this Labour government.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party reported massive losses, less than a year after winning a landslide victory following the collapse of the widely unpopular Conservative Party.

Despite being called “The Conservative Party,” the organization is actually a center to center-left globalist coalition that supports mass immigration, net zero and woke ideology.

In an interview with the BBC after losing the case, Harry said he was upset because it represented a win for Buckingham Palace.

He went on to argue that the verdict would put he and his family at risk, despite the fact they can pay for security out of their own very large pockets.

UK Govt Plans to End Compensation Program for Child Sex Abuse Victims: Report

While similar redress programs have been implemented in Northern Ireland and Scotland, victims in England and Wales are left without this avenue for compensation.

The government claims that existing reports, like the Jay report, provide sufficient insight, even though they do not cover many grooming gang hotspots. Cabinet minister Lucy Powell recently dismissed concerns about the grooming gangs as “dog whistle” politics. The Sea Lord Admiral notified the chief of defence staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin and defence secretary John Healey last autumn of his intention to step down this summer but his departure comes earlier than expected. The unexpected move means the conference next week has been postponed indefinitely. Offering their “sincerest apologies” the Council on Geostrategy described Sir Ben's departure as "unanticipated" in an email.

The email read: "It is with sincere regret that we must inform you that the First Sea Lord's Sea Power Conference 2025 has been postponed.

"As you may already be aware, this decision follows the news that the First Sea Lord has had to step back from his duties for personal reasons. On behalf of both the Royal Navy and the Council on Geostrategy, we offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause."

According to a report in the Financial Times, he is not stepping back due to the Government's Strategic Defence Review.

However, a Navy source told The Telegraph: "A cynic might think he has seen the review and wanted to be out before s--- hits the fan.”

Sir Ben had served in the Navy for a little more than 40 years, beginning his career in 1984, initially qualifying in helicopters and as a Principal Warfare Officer. His appointment to the post of First Sea Lord came in November 2021.

UK Rolls Out “Largest Ever” Sanction Package Targeting Shadow Tankers

The UK is moving forward with another round of sanctions against Russian entities and the shadow fleet in what Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the “largest ever sanctions.” The announcement came as the UK was meeting in Norway with colleagues in the 10-nation Joint Expeditionary Force to discuss security issues for Northern Europe.

“The shadow fleet operation, masterminded by Putin’s cronies, is not just bankrolling the Kremlin’s illegal war in Ukraine - the fleet’s languishing vessels are known to be damaging critical national infrastructure through reckless seafaring in Europe,” the UK said reporting it has listed 100 additional tankers. The UK also listed one Russian-flagged offshore service vessel, which it said is benefiting from supporting the Russian government.

The UK now attests to having sanctioned more shadow fleet ships than any other country. In December 2024, it also imposed sanctions against 133 tankers. The EU has also moved aggressively with its sanctions and reported this week it is working on a new sanctions package including more than 100 tankers. When the new sanctions are enacted, the EU will have sanctioned more than 300 tankers.

In addition to the vessels, the UK listed five executives working in the Russian energy sector who it says are supporting and benefitting from the oil sales. It is also listing two energy companies, BX Energy and Nord Axis, and added Norwegian insurance company Romarine and Russian insurance company Soglasie to the sanctions list.

The UK describes the shadow fleet as “decrepit and dangerous,” saying it was also moving to protect Europe’s infrastructure. It cites the damage caused to undersea assets by the tankers while highlighting the efforts of the Joint Expeditionary Force to monitor key infrastructure. Member nations include Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK.

In January, the group activated a tracking system known as Nordic Warden developed by the UK. It is being used to monitor activity in a region that includes parts of the English Channel, the North Sea, Kattegat, and the Baltic. NATO also moved along with its member nations to increase monitoring in the Baltic after the incidents that damaged the undersea cables.

The UK highlights that the drop in oil prices is putting further pressure on the Russian economy as the costs of the war have increased.

A new report from S&P Global, however, shows that more Russian oil is moving on tankers owned or operated within the G7 as the price of oil has fallen below the price cap. S&P Global Commodities at Sea and Maritime Intelligence Risk Suite data shows that almost 1.3 million barrels a day were being lifted by the ships from the G7 nations, the highest since March 2024. They are also reporting that G7-linked tankers are carrying more Russian oil from the Urals than non-G7 tankers, the first time this occurred since July 2023, according to S&P.

The EU is expected to move ahead with its next round of sanctions in June and is reported to be looking to coordinate it with a similar action by the United States. Donald Trump has threatened to increase sanctions on Russia if they cannot achieve progress with the ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

COPS are probing a fire which erupted at Keir Starmer's home in the early hours of this morning.

The PM has thanked brave firefighters who tackled the blaze at the North West London house.

Met Police are investigating the cause of the fire - which was swiftly brought under control.

The LFB confirmed there was "damage" to the front of the £2million townhouse.

Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria clapped for the NHS during lockdown outside their North London home.

The PM - who now lives in his official residence at 10 Downing Street - unveiled his immigration overhaul in a press conference hours after the blaze took place.

Met Police officers were called to the scene at 1.35AM after LFB raised the alarm.

Cordons are still in place on the whole road with locals asked for identification before entering with many being turned away.

Police have described it as a “crime scene” but insist no one has been hurt.

One resident told the Sun he heard a “loud bang” on Wednesday and saw a 4x4 catch fire on the opposite side if the road to Starmer’s residence, however it is unsure whether this is connected to today’s incident.

Dan Nicholson, 36, said he called police after spotting the vehicle burning in the early hours of the morning.

He told the Sun: “I heard a loud noise and looked out of my window at 3AM and there was a car on fire.

“I called the police and shortly afterwards the fire brigade turned up.

“It was pretty dramatic. It was mad.

“It feels like it might be related to the incident this morning.

“It seems too much of a coincidence.”

He said his brother heard a commotion around 1AM this morning and saw firefighters tackling a fire at the Prime Minister’s house.

A next door neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said he was awoken in the early hours of the morning to a loud bang.

“It was a loud bang, what sounded like glass shattering. It was scary,” he said.

Another resident, who asked not be named, said she was woken by a bang around 2AM this morning.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told The Sun: "On Monday, 12 May at 01:35hrs, police were alerted by the London Fire Brigade to reports of a fire at a residential address.

"The fire is being investigated and cordons remain in place while enquiries continue.

It comes as the PM this morning revealed the Government plan to crackdown on migration rules.

Two days after the vehicle blaze, a flat once owned by Sir Keir in Islington in the 1990s was also damaged in an alleged arson attack.”

So, the Monday (12) incident in which Starmer’s family home in Tufnell Park was targeted by a firebomb incident was actually the third one!

“Counter-terrorism police are investigating the three incidents and a 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.”

The Toyota is the car with which Starmer was involved in a road traffic accident in Camden.

“It earlier emerged that the Prime Minister’s four-bedroom family home in Tufnell Park, north London, is rented to his sister-in-law.

UK Farmers Fear For Bioethanol Market Following US Trade Deal

Ministers and commentators heralded the UK’s trade deal with the United States as a political coup that will save thousands of jobs at British automakers. But changes to beef and bioethanol trade rules have left an already bruised agricultural sector fearing the worst, writes Ali Lyon

When he’s not slavishly editing clips for the hundreds of thousands of people that subscribe to his Youtube channel, Olly Harrison has the not insignificant job of running 1,500 acres of farmland.

But as his impressively regular feed of videos illustrates, tending to that land -- and trying to eke out a semblance of profit from it – has become a difficult, bordering on impossible task, as headwind after headwind hit his arable holding near Liverpool.

“It’s been rubbish,” he tells City AM, still dealing with the aftermath of what was England’s driest April on record.

“We’ve had extremes of weather, which has been very wet or -- like now – very dry.”

Added to recent years’ inhospitable climes, are the input costs for producing the wheat his family has grown for five generations. They have, he says, remained at the elevated prices sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At the same time, the price he is able to secure for his end product has fallen by as much as 40 per cent since those 2022 supply-constraint-induced highs.

But it is another, more recent, external shock that has Harrison especially worried. One that, while niche and esoteric, could kibosh the safety net he and his fellow British arable farmers have traditionally fallen back on when the wholesale wheat price drops too low.

Bioethanol: The little-known safety net of arable farmers

“The bioethanol market in the UK -- for wheat – is quite big,” Harrison says.

“It’s basically the floor in the market.”

Opening up the UK and US’s agricultural markets to more trade was a key football in the frenzied negotiations that helped the Starmer administration become the first country in the world to secure a trade deal with America since 2 April’s ‘Liberation Day’.

And to spur the States’ capricious President into bringing down painful tariffs on Britain’s export industries like automakers and plane parts, the government agreed to lower its own levies on a selection of American agriculture products; namely beef and the fuel.

The beef tariffs were reduced only on imports that subscribed to the UK’s world-leading food standards, leading some in the farming community to breathe a partial sigh of relief. But the bioethanol concessions -- which saw the UK’s 19 per cent tariff abolished completely – contained no such caveats to protect our sizeable domestic industry. That decision has already sparked warnings from key figures involved in domestic bioethanol production that their sector could be facing extinction.

“Bioethanol, for me, is the watch area,” Tom Bradshaw, president of the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) tells City AM.

“I have been speaking to the bioethanol manufacturing sector… and we think [these changes] probably make it unviable.”

The prognosis from Bradshaw -- whose assiduous campaigning around the recent inheritance tax reforms has already made him a regular thorn in the government’s side – was echoed by the UK’s two largest bioethanol producers over the weekend.

The chief executive of London-listed AB Foods’ sugar division, Paul Kenward, and Grand Pearson, the chairman of Ensus, both warned in a joint intervention their “strategically essential sector” was under an “existential threat”.

All of which has left Harrison worried about what it will do to demand for his product. “If they can now bring it [ethanol] in from the States -- using wheat that’s grown a lot cheaper than we can because they get a lot more support off their government, using technologies that we can’t, from farms that have got scale that we haven’t – then that’s seriously undermining a sector that’s already on its knees,” he says.

A hollowed out bioethanol sector also poses the risk of some unsavoury knock-on effects for livestock farmers, the very area of agriculture that the government sought to protect during its negotiations.

Because just as Unilever sources its ingredients for Marmite from breweries -- and the byproducts produced in the fermenting process – bioethanol producers sell one of their own high-protein outputs as feed for cows.

As Bradshaw summarises: “If they’re not making bioethanol, we won’t get that animal feed.”

UK sending security adviser to work with Zelensky -- Guardian

Jonathan Powell is expected to make sure the Ukrainian leader does not do “anything that alienates Trump”

London is reportedly sending an adviser to Istanbul to give its recommendations to Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky ahead of talks with Russia, the Guardian reported on Wednesday.

On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to restart direct negotiations with Kiev to find a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict. While Zelensky had previously ruled out talks with Moscow, he welcomed the proposal and agreed to personally travel to Türkiye to take part.

Moscow has barred Western European leaders from participating in the negotiations, accusing them of a biased approach to the conflict and trying to prolong the fighting. Nevertheless, the UK is reportedly sending Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s security adviser, Jonathan Powell, to meet with Zelensky ahead of the talks to provide “background advice” on how he should handle the meeting.

The Guardian reported that Powell’s advice is expected to focus on making sure that Zelensky does not do “anything that alienates Trump” and equip him to persuade the US president that Putin is the “obstacle to peace.”

The meeting is set to become the first direct talks between Russia and Ukraine since Kiev unilaterally aborted peace negotiations with Moscow in 2022 after being advised to do so by London.

At the previous talks, shortly after the pre-approval of a draft treaty, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson personally traveled to Kiev and persuaded Zelensky to abandon peace efforts and continue fighting, according to the head of the Ukrainian delegation David Arakhamia.

Ahead of Thursday’s discussions, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov has stated that they will have to take into account the points that were already worked out by both sides in 2022, plus the “real situation” on the ground that has developed since then.

In his announcement of the talks, Putin stated that Russia is set on “serious negotiations” with Ukraine and is seeking a “long-term, sustainable peace” that would address the root causes of the conflict.

He also suggested that Thursday’s meeting could yield “a new ceasefire” that could pave the way for a comprehensive peace settlement, depending on the decisions of “the Ukrainian authorities and their supervisors.”

“The Prime Minister explained: ‘Now what we want to do, and are having discussions and talks of, is return hubs. These would be used when someone has been through the system in the UK and needs to be returned’.

‘We have to make sure those returns are carried out effectively, and we’ll do that, if possible, through return hubs. That’s what the talks are focused on. I would say that in this area, no single measure is going to be, if you like, a silver bullet. It will allow us to bear down on this vile trade and help stop people from crossing the Channel’.”

The pressure is on Starmer since data shows more than 12,000 people have crossed the Channel in small boats since the start of the year, and after anti-immigration Reform UK humiliated both Labour and Tories in the local elections.

Ukrainian charged in arson attack on British PM’s home

Police have confirmed no injuries occurred during the three separate incidents in north London

A Ukrainian national has been charged with multiple counts of arson following a series of fires, including one at a property owned by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

In a statement issued on Thursday, police said Roman Lavrynovych, 21, of Sydenham in south London, faces three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. The charges relate to a string of incidents between May 8 and May 12, including a vehicle fire, a blaze at the entrance of a property, and a third fire at a residential address.

The first fire took place on May 8, when a Toyota Rav4 was set alight in Kentish Town. The car had previously belonged to Starmer but had been sold to a neighbor, according to the Telegraph newspaper.

On May 11, another fire broke out at the entrance of a flat in Islington that Starmer reportedly owned in the 1990s. In the early hours of May 12, a third fire was reported at the Prime Minister’s current family home in Tufnell Park, which is now rented out to his sister-in-law, according to the media.

While the entrance and front door were damaged, no injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

The Metropolitan Police said its Counter Terrorism Command is leading the investigation “due to the property having previous connections with a high-profile public figure.”

Lavrynovych was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday and has remained in custody since. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Starmer himself has described the attacks as an “attack on all of us, on our democracy and the values that we stand for.”

According to the Telegraph, investigators are exploring a number of potential motives, including whether a hostile state might have been involved, although no evidence of such a link has been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Lavrynovych’s neighbors in Sydenham have described him as quiet and unremarkable. “He was a normal guy -- like us,” one person told reporters. Another, who had lived in the flat above him for seven years, said he was “a normal boy,” noting that he didn’t speak English too well.

Macron, Starmer Blast 'Unacceptable' Russian Stance In Talks, Zelensky Urges More Sanctions

Zelensky in a phone call with President Trump soon on the heels of the Istanbul meeting, which lasted just under two hours, touted that he's willing to "take the fastest possible steps to bring real peace" - but the West needs to hold "a strong stance". Also on the group call were the leaders of Britain, France, Germany and Poland.

Zelensky after the phone call told reporters that "pressure on Russia must be maintained". He stated: "Our position --- if the Russians reject a full and unconditional ceasefire and an end to killings, tough sanctions must follow."

Kiev's top European allies blasted Russia's stance as presented in Istanbul "unacceptable":

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, joined by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish leader Donald Tusk, said in a statement on Friday that “the Russian position is clearly unacceptable, and not for the first time,” according to Reuters.

And PM Starmer followed by saying, "As a result of that meeting with President Zelensky and the discussion with President Trump, we are now closely aligning and coordinating our responses and will continue to do so."

But importantly, neither side has yet shut the door on the possibility of more rounds of direct Russia-Ukraine talks. Certainly the Trump White House wants to see this happen.

As for the Russian delegation, its head Vladimir Medinsky announced that "each side will present its vision of a possible future ceasefire, detailing it in writing." Here's the Russian readout:

We are satisfied with the outcome and ready to continue our contacts. Here is what has been agreed:

First, in the coming days, there will be a large-scale prisoner exchange: 1,000 for 1,000 people.

Second, the Ukrainian side has requested direct talks between the heads of state. We have taken this request under advisement.

And third, we have agreed that each side will present its vision of a possible future ceasefire, detailing it in writing. Once these visions have been presented, we believe it is appropriate-as has also been agreed-to continue our negotiations.”

Ukraine is likely to continue pushing for Europe and the US to ramp up the sanctions campaign, and to commit more money and weapons.

The leaders of the UK, France, Germany and Poland said Russia’s position at its talks with Ukraine on Friday was “unacceptable,” after a holding a phone conversation with President Donald Trump.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, joined by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish leader Donald Tusk, said in a statement on Friday that “the Russian position is clearly unacceptable, and not for the first time,” according to Reuters.

The four leaders were speaking on the sidelines of a European meeting in Tirana, Albania, where they were joined by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and held a group call with President Trump.

“As a result of that meeting with President Zelensky and the discussion with President Trump, we are now closely aligning and coordinating our responses and will continue to do so,” he said,” Starmer said, according to Reuters.

The Friday meeting between Ukrainian and Russian officials, the first direct engagement of its kind in some three years, has ended, according to Turkey’s foreign ministry, and lasted a little under two hours.

Each side will in the aftermath convey to the press its version of things, and Ukraine has been right out the gate telling CNN that there was nothing meaningful to come out of these first talks.

A Ukrainian source said the Russia delegation "did not have a mandate to make important decisions" and that "they are not ready to decide anything meaningful to end the war."

Many international headlines Thursday described the team of junior officials sent by the Kremlin as an 'insult' to the peace process; however, it's also the case that no matter who President Putin sends, he is the one who will ultimately make the decisions.

Wall Street Journal has described that "The talks, in the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, came about as the result of President Trump’s pressure, so far mostly applied on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to find an end to the war."

But, "Just as the negotiations started, Russia struck near the Ukrainian city of Dnipro with a salvo of ballistic missiles, according to local officials."

And Reuters agrees in its assessment that there are "no apparent sign of progress so far in narrowing the gap between the sides, and a Ukrainian source called Moscow's demands 'non-starters'.

NATO rocked by corruption scandal

Multiple countries have launched investigations into the US-led alliance’s procurement system

Police have conducted arrests and searches in several countries as part of a corruption investigation into current and former employees of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA).

The raids, coordinated by Eurojust -- the EU’s criminal justice agency – took place in Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and the US. The alliance told Luxembourg Times on Wednesday that NSPA’s main headquarters in the Grand Duchy had initiated the probe.

“NATO -- including the NSPA – is working closely with law enforcement to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice,” spokeswoman Allison Hart said. “We are actively strengthening our ability to mitigate risks and root out misconduct,” she added.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte told reporters in Ankara on Thursday that the military bloc was working with the authorities. “We want to get to the root of this,” Rutte said.

The public prosecutor’s office in Luxembourg said that documents had been seized pertaining to suspicions that NSPA staffers had “used their positions to enrich themselves.”

Two people were arrested in Belgium and three in the Netherlands, officials said. Belgian prosecutors stated that the investigation centers around “possible irregularities in awarding contracts to defense contractors for the purchase of military equipment for NATO such as ammunition and drones.” The probe is also investigating the possible sharing of confidential information by NSPA employees with defense companies and money laundering.

Authorities in the Netherlands have said they arrested a former official with the Dutch Defense Ministry at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Monday. The former civil servant is suspected of taking bribes in 2023 related to the awarding of defense contracts.

The investigation takes place as NATO members are looking for ways to boost their own defense and produce more weapons to be delivered to Ukraine. In March, the European Commission unveiled a plan to raise €800 billion ($896 billion) to “rearm” the EU.

The United Kingdom and the European Union have agreed to a landmark deal aimed at “resetting” their post-Brexit relationship, easing restrictions on travel and work for hundreds of millions of people on the continent.

The pact, agreed at a summit in London on Monday, followed months of negotiations between Downing Street and Brussels. It includes agreements on defense, migration, work and travel --- and leaders on each side of the Channel will hope it leaves behind years’ worth of tensions.

“This is a historic moment,” EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as they unveiled the deal on Monday. “We’re turning a page. We’re opening a new chapter in our unique relationship.”

“Britain is back on the world stage,” Starmer added following the meetings at Lancaster House.

But the deal has already threatened to open old wounds; Starmer has been criticized by leaders on Britain’s resurgent populist right, who have claimed the deal weakens the UK’s sovereignty.

The two sides have struck a deal to ease trade between their two markets --- one of the most contentious areas of the long-running Brexit negotiations.

Downing Street announced in a statement that it has agreed to reduce the “red tape” currently burdening British businesses exporting food and drink to the bloc on an indefinite basis. Part of that agreement will include the complete removal of some routine checks on animal and plant products, it said.

The trade partners have decided to move toward “a common sanitary and phytosanitary area,” von der Leyen told reporters on Monday. “That means more certainty, more stability for farmers and food producers, and fishermen and fisherwoman, on both sides of the Channel.”

In any case, changes to the trading rules between the two sides are significant: The EU is the UK’s largest trading partner, with the bloc accounting for 41% of Britain’s exports and more than half of its imports last year, according to official figures covering both goods and services. The UK is also a top trading partner for Brussels, and was the second-largest destination for EU goods exports in 2024, Eurostat data shows.

The deal also included commitments to give the EU fishing boats access to British waters for a further 12 years beyond the current agreement, which is set to expire next year. Europe will also open up its electricity market to the UK, a move that von der Leyen praised as a step toward boosting energy security and lowering prices.

Will the deal open old wounds?

Starmer is striking a deal in a unique political environment. Public sentiment is broadly behind him; Britons increasingly regret the decision to leave the EU, and prize an agreement with the bloc over a similar deal with the US, opinion polling suggests. But the country remains weary of the heated, years-long arguments that engulfed Westminster after the 2016 Brexit vote, and Downing Street is treading carefully to avoid re-opening those wounds.

It may be wishful thinking. The prime minister, whose government is unpopular as it approaches one year in office, is also wary of the threat from the right. The populist Reform UK party is leading opinion polls, and its leader Nigel Farage --- the chief architect of the Brexit movement — has already sought to frame Monday’s deal as a surrender to Brussels.

British Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer has hailed a “new era” with the European Union as he unveiled a post-Brexit “reset” deal on Monday. Yet opponents have accused the left-wing government of “surrendering” to Brussels on key areas, including granting the bloc access to UK fishing waters for over a decade.

In his third major deal this month, after inking agreements with India and the United States, Prime Minister Starmer boasted that he has “rolled up my sleeves to deliver for British people, British jobs, and British businesses.”

The wide-ranging EU deal unveiled by the anti-Brexit PM will see the UK align with European standards on animal welfare and food in exchange for reducing the punitive import checks on British food products sold in Europe. However, London also agreed to send British taxpayer money to the EU as part of the deal. While no specific figures were released, The Times reports that it will be “an appropriate financial contribution from the United Kingdom”.

Additionally, the Labour government was accused of selling out British fishermen by giving Europeans access to UK waters for the next 12 years. According to the British press, this was a last-minute demand from Brussels over the weekend after the government announced that an EU deal would be forthcoming, sparking accusations that Starmer bent to hardball tactics for the sake of political expediency to the detriment of a key British industry. The government has attempted to allay fears, by announcing a £360 million coastal investment fund.

However, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage lamented that the deal would “be the end of the fishing industry”. Farge’s deputy, MP Richard Tice, added: “Starmer has surrendered --- lock, stock and barrel. He’s waved the white flag and kissed goodbye to UK fishing.

“And my constituents in Boston & Skegness will be raging mad this morning if this news is true. It’s unbelievable. The EU apparently asked for four or five years, and Starmer has surrendered about 12 years. Mind boggling.”

Third Arrest Made After Ukrainian National Charged With Firebombing PM Starmer's Home

A third man has been arrested in connection with a series fires at properties linked to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, after earlier this month there were a series of blazes which appeared to target him or assets owned by him.

The Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command has been leading the investigation, after starting May 8, emergency services responded to three consecutive nights of blazes targeting Starmer's properties and a vehicle. The attacks began with a firebombing of the front of Starmer's private residence he lived in before becoming prime minister.

The arson attacks first targeted the Kentish Town home where Sir Keir lived before becoming prime minister. This left damage at the property, but no injuries to anyone. A car was also set on fire.

The arson attacks continued, next at the front door of a house in Islington, also linked to the prime minister. One bystander had to be rescued by responding firefighters.

On Monday, Sky News reported the following development:

A third man has been arrested in connection with fires at two properties and a car linked to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

The Metropolitan Police said a 34-year-old was arrested this morning in the Chelsea area of west London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

The identities and nationalities of both the latest individual arrested and the second arrest have not been immediately forthcoming by authorities.

The first arrest was of a 26-year-old man and Ukrainian national, identified in court as Roman Lavrynovych. He's been charged with setting fire to Starmer's personal home and a vehicle.

As of yet, the prosecutor has not identified a motive for the crimes and has given no explanation, while Lavrynovych has denied setting the fires. He's been formally charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

According to some of the interesting details to emerge in local reporting:

Neighbor Charles Grant said that police searched his yard on Monday and “said they were looking for a projectile.”

“From what other people have told me today, I gather someone threw a firebomb at Keir Starmer’s house," he said.

Starmer’s house has attracted protesters in the past. Last year, three pro-Palestinian activists were arrested and charged with public order offenses after unfurling a banner covered in red handprints outside the building.

Starmer didn't at any point appear to be be in danger during the incidents, given he and his family have long been living in the prime minister’s official Downing Street residence, since his July election.

Lavrynovych's family told UK media that he 'loves' Britain. Naturally, there will be speculation over whether this may have had some connection to the Russia-Ukraine war, given also Starmer's deep involvement in ongoing meetings with Zelensky and Kiev officials.

UK Contractor Extradited to U.S., Pleads Guilty in Massive USAID Fraud Scheme Tied to Pakistan Energy Program

A UK citizen who ripped off American taxpayers through a U.S.-funded foreign aid program has been sentenced to time served after a brazen kickback scheme drained nearly $100,000 in USAID funds --- and he’ll now be handed over to immigration authorities.

Stephen Paul Edmund Sutton, 53, of the United Kingdom, pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C. federal court Monday to conspiring to commit theft concerning a program receiving federal funds, a felony offense.

Sutton was a Logistics Operations Manager for a contractor implementing the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Power Distribution Program (PDP) in Pakistan --- a five-year effort that was supposed to help modernize Pakistan’s failing electric utilities.

Instead, Sutton and his co-conspirator, who remains under indictment, lined their pockets by setting up bogus shell companies that funneled inflated contracts for forklifts and crane services --- all under the guise of helping Pakistan’s struggling power grid. Sutton personally pocketed at least $21,000 in kickbacks.

According to court documents, PDP was a component of U.S. government assistance to the government of Pakistan to support its energy sector.

Launched in September 2010, the five-year program was designed to facilitate improvements in Pakistan’s government-owned electric power distribution companies through interventions and projects addressing governance issues, technical and non-technical losses, and low revenue collection.

The main goal of the PDP was to improve the commercial performance of the participating distribution companies through technology upgrades and improvements in processes, procedures, and practices, as well as training and capacity building.

Under the PDP contract, Sutton’s employer subcontracted through purchase orders with vendors in Pakistan for certain goods and services.

From May through November 2015, Sutton and his co-conspirator, an employee supervised by Sutton, participated in a kickback scheme by creating two companies, obtaining PDP purchase orders for forklift and crane services for the companies, and distributing the profits to themselves.

As part of the scheme, his co-conspirator arranged for low-grade local vendors to provide the services for at least half the contract rates, and Sutton ensured that the company paid the invoices despite suspicions raised by an accounts payable officer.

U.S. government sentencing documents indicate the agency was defrauded of almost $100,000 and that for his part, Sutton received at least $21,000 in kickbacks.

Sutton’s co-conspirator is also charged by indictment and his case is pending disposition.

This case was investigated by the USAID Office of Inspector General and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Emily Miller and former Special Assistant United States Attorneys Scot Morris and Nicholas Coates of the Fraud, Public Corruption, and Civil Rights Section.

The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs provided significant assistance in securing the arrest and extradition of Sutton from the UK.

UK Welcomes South African Activist Who Chants About Killing White Farmers

The British Government recently barred French writer Renaud Camus from entering the UK.

His crime?

Not actual incitement, not violence, not lawbreaking, but a controversial idea.

Camus, originator of the ‘Great Replacement’ theory, was scheduled to speak at a Big Remigration Conference organised by the Homeland Party, as well as at the Oxford Union. His Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) had been approved. Then, abruptly, it was revoked. The Home Office declared that his visit was “not conducive to the public good”.

Meanwhile, Julius Malema, a South African political figure who openly sings “Kill the Boer” at rallies, glorifies racial violence and promotes land expropriation without compensation, was welcomed.

This is not a metaphor. Malema was allowed into the UK in May 2025 to address his supporters in London. The only reason for his delayed arrival was the May Day bank holiday. When he protested, the British High Commission issued a grovelling apology, assuring him the visa holdup was merely bureaucratic, not moral.

The message could not be clearer: ideas from the Right are criminalised, but hate from the Left is indulged.

Toby Young has recently laid this out in detail in his excellent interview on GB News in the wake of the Lucy Connolly appeal decision. His conclusion: the UK no longer defends free speech as a principle, it defends only approved speech. You can chant about killing white farmers, provided your politics check the right boxes. But offer a sociological theory about demographic change? You’re banned.

Let’s be clear: Renaud Camus’s theory is provocative. It raises uncomfortable questions about identity, culture and immigration. One can challenge or reject it. But to silence it entirely, while welcoming actual political violence wrapped in revolutionary chic, is not only hypocritical. It’s dangerous.

A society that punishes ideas but excuses incitement is not protecting its values. It is broadcasting its fear.

Camus, an elderly intellectual with no history of violence, was treated like a threat to national security. Malema, who has stood before crowds chanting genocidal slogans, was treated like a minor celebrity inconvenienced by airport queues. This isn’t policy. It’s ideology masquerading as law.

Once again, the UK has exposed the workings of its two-tier system. British citizens have been arrested for quoting Churchill, misgendering someone online or holding placards in silence. But a foreign politician calling for racial uprising is welcomed, because his fury flows in the approved direction.

Britain used to be a place where you could say what you thought, provided you didn’t call for violence. Now it’s a place where you can call for violence, provided you think what you’re told.

Renaud Camus was banned not because he posed a risk, but because he posed a challenge, a challenge to the dominant narrative. That makes him, in today’s Britain, more dangerous than a man who sings about killing his countrymen.

Malema is in. Camus is out. And that, sadly, tells you everything about who we are now.

“A visibly angry Emmanuel Macron blasted his ministers during a defense cabinet meeting Wednesday after a botched release of a report into the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in France, according to a high-ranking government official.

A second official, who, like others quoted here, was granted anonymity to speak candidly, said the French president accused his ministers generally for not coming up with adequate solutions to counter the threat posed by the Islamist group.”

But Macron’s anger seems directed to Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau.

“Many in the French government have attributed the leak to Retailleau, a hardline conservative whose popularity has skyrocketed since joining Macron’s minority government in September. Retailleau on Sunday scored a landslide win to become the next leader of the Les Républicains, the historically dominant French center-right party relegated to political purgatory after Macron’s 2017 election upended French politics. Early polling indicates he could be a serious contender in the 2027 presidential election were he to run.”

Retailleau has publicly accused the Muslim Brotherhood of ‘trying to tip French society into Sharia law’.

Sources tell POLITICO that Macron threw a ‘fit’ at the meeting.

“The bickering is another sign that the attention of those in power has moved away from Macron toward the wide-open presidential election set to take place in fewer than two years, especially with Marine Le Pen of the far-right National Rally’s prospects in turmoil after her embezzlement conviction. She has repeatedly professed her innocence and could be allowed to run if an appeals court rules in her favor next year.”

Ukraine wants fixed percentage of EU’s GDP

Kiev has urged the bloc’s members to directly fund the country’s military

Ukraine has proposed that EU member states allocate a fixed portion of their GDP to fund the country’s armed forces. The bloc’s leaders have pledged continued military support for Kiev despite a policy change by US President Donald Trump, who aims to mediate a truce.

Finance Minister Sergey Marchenko outlined the proposal during this week’s G7 finance ministers meeting in Canada, according to a Facebook post published on Thursday.

“What we are proposing is partner participation in funding Ukraine’s Armed Forces, which would effectively integrate them into Europe’s defense structure,” he wrote.

Marchenko added that the cost “would represent only a small share of the EU’s GDP” and could be distributed among countries willing to join the initiative. Kiev wants to launch the new scheme in 2026, with contributions counted toward NATO defense spending targets.

Marchenko’s appeal comes as Ukraine struggles with rising fiscal pressure and an uncertain outlook on foreign assistance. On Tuesday, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said the country’s 2025 budget includes a shortfall of 400--500 billion hryvnias ($9.6–12 billion) for financing its armed forces.

Fellow lawmaker Nina Yuzhanina warned that military support was at a critical level and called for sweeping domestic budget cuts to redirect resources.

Ukraine’s mounting debt has also raised alarm. Total state debt is approaching $171 billion, with public debt nearing 100% of GDP. Earlier this month, Marchenko said the country would be unable to repay foreign creditors for the next 30 years but intends to continue borrowing.

Since the escalation of the conflict with Russia in 2022, Ukraine has received billions in military, financial, and humanitarian aid and loans from the US, the EU, and other donors. Brussels’ approach has drawn criticism from some EU member states, including Hungary and Slovakia.

The US, Ukraine’s largest donor, has moved to recoup its financial aid to Ukraine by signing a natural resources deal with Kiev. The agreement, pushed by Trump, grants the US preferential access to Ukrainian mineral resources without providing security guarantees.

Trump, who has repeatedly called for a swift resolution to the conflict, has pledged to mediate a truce rather than expand military support. Ukrainian lawmakers have warned that the military aid package approved under former President Joe Biden will run out by summer, and no talks on further US deliveries are currently underway.

UK Telegraph sold for $700 million

Ownership of The Daily Telegraph, the storied British newspaper long considered close to the country’s Conservative Party, is poised to change --- again.

RedBird Capital Partners, an American investment firm, said on Friday that it reached an agreement in principle to buy control of the newspaper’s parent company, Telegraph Media Group, at a valuation of 500 million pounds, or about $675 million.

Friday’s deal marks the latest twist in a long-running takeover drama for The Telegraph, which for much of its 170-year history has been considered a house organ of sorts for Britain’s Conservative Party. (Among its nicknames is The Torygraph.)

RedBird had already bought control of the newspaper via a joint venture with International Media Investments, a fund controlled by a member of Abu Dhabi’s royal family. Under that plan, the newspaper would have been overseen by Jeff Zucker, the former president of CNN.

But that deal was blocked in 2023 after an outcry in Parliament over foreign state ownership of British media assets. Last year, the Conservative-led government passed a law barring foreign state investors from owning British newspapers.

The joint venture, known as RedBird IMI, retained control of The Telegraph while soliciting other bids.

Following the collapse of RedBird IMI’s plan, other media moguls were reportedly considering bids for the newspaper. The most ardent was Dovid Efune, the British-born owner of The New York Sun, though he had struggled to line up financing ahead of a deadline late last year.

The Spectator, an influential magazine that was part of the same holding group as The Telegraph, was sold for £100 million last year to Paul Marshall, a British hedge fund tycoon with media interests that include the right-wing TV channel GB News.

As part of Friday’s deal for The Telegraph, RedBird will buy the majority of its Emirati partner’s holdings, though IMI is expected to retain a small stake, pending a change in the foreign ownership law.

The current government, led by the Labour Party, announced last week that it would relax that restriction, allowing foreign state entities to own stakes of up to 15 percent in newspapers. It cited the importance of attracting investment in the news media. That opened the door for the revised RedBird offer, since IMI is a minority investor in its consortium.

RedBird said it was in talks to line up British investors as minority owners “with print media expertise and strong commitment to upholding the editorial values of The Telegraph.”

The 11-year-old RedBird is a well-known media investor, whose holdings include stakes in the movie studio Skydance Media; Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Boston Red Sox baseball team and the British soccer club Liverpool F.C.; and the New York Yankees’ regional sports network.

The investment firm said it planned to expand The Telegraph’s international footprint, “particularly in the United States,” as well as its digital operations.

“We believe that the U.K. is a great place to invest, and this acquisition is an important part of RedBird’s growing portfolio of media and entertainment companies in the U.K.,” Gerry Cardinale, the founder of RedBird, said in a statement.

After Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour got trounced by Reform UK in the recent Local Elections, he has scrambled to turn sharply right in his immigration policy in order to come closer to voters on the right side of the political spectrum.

No less than 43 per cent of Labour voters have two eyes that see, and noticed that that their party is trying too hard to appeal to Reform UK voters.

Starmer’s speech announcing plans to curb the migrant influx came just two weeks after Labour lost 187 councilors at the Local Elections, and Reform swelled to 677 seats.

“But while the Starmer administration try to stop a bleed from the right, there is also a vacuum for disenchanted Labour voters who remain impervious to Reform’s temptations. In fact, largest portion of Labour’s supporters are now undecided voters -- up for grabs.

While the government recently reversed the wildly unpopular winter fuel payment cuts, they incurred opprobrium for delaying it by ten months from when the policy change was announced. “

Younger Labour are going to the Green Party, and older ones are heading to the Liberal Democrats.

“The Lib Dems gained 163 local councillors in the recent elections, bringing them up to 370. A Liberal Democrat source told City AM that at the 2026 local elections, ‘you will see in key areas in London that we are the real challengers to Labour’.”

The Greens so far have gotten nine per cent of Labour’s 2024 voters, and they want to gain even more.

The Trump administration is working hard to secure freedom of speech for the people of Great Britain under their socialist government.

According to The Telegraph, the State Department has confirmed it is “monitoring” the situation of Lucy Connolly, a 41-year-old childminder who was imprisoned for over three years for remarks she made about illegal migrants living off the British taxpayer..

Connolly, who is the wife of a Conservative Party councillor, wrote on the X platform that she would not care if protesters “set fire” to hotels housing illegal migrants.

“If that makes me racist, so be it,” she wrote.

She was later imprisoned for 31 months at the behest of Keir Starmer’s socialist government, which launched a nationwide crackdown following widespread demonstrations over the murder of young girls in Southport by a young Islamist.

“We can confirm that we are monitoring this matter,’ said a State Department spokesperson.

“The United States supports freedom of expression at home and abroad, and remains concerned about infringements on freedom of expression.”

Meanwhile, The Telegraph also revealed that Trump had sent five officials to the U.K. to meet with pro-life activists who had also been persecuted by the Starmer regime.

The officials, who came from the US Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) travelled to London to “affirm the importance of freedom of expression in the UK and across Europe.”

Britain and the U.S. have long had a so-called “special relationship,” with the two countries recently signing a trade agreement lifting levies on cars and other key industries.

Keir Starmer has met with Trump on multiple occasions and has offered him a second state visit, an honor never before bestowed on an American president.

However, the issue of freedom of speech remains a significant thorn in the relationship, with Vice-President J.D. Vance even bringing it up during an Oval Office meeting back in March.

"We do have of course a special relationship with our friends in the UK and also our European allies, but we also know there have been infringements on free speech that affect not just the British,” Vance said.

“What the British do in their own country is up to them - but also affect American technology companies and by extension, American citizens,” he continued.

"We've had free speech for a very long time, it will last a long time, and we are very proud of that,” Starmer responded.

Two police officers have been found not guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after a 92-year-old amputee was pepper-sprayed and Tasered at his care home.

PCs Stephen Smith, 51, and Rachel Comotto, 36, denied using excessive force on Donald Burgess at Park Beck care home in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.

Jurors returned their unanimous verdicts on both Sussex Police officers at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday.

They found PC Smith not guilty of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm for his use of Pava spray and for using a baton, whilst PC Comotto was found not guilty of one count for deploying her Taser.

Despite this, Sussex Police Assistant Chief Constable Paul Court said that the officers would still face gross misconduct proceedings.

Police officers can often find themselves in challenging and unpredictable situations, where they must make split-second decisions to keep the public safe and do so with measure, compassion, and skill," he said.

"We support them to do this and it's what our communities expect.

"Use of force must be reasonable, necessary, and proportionate, and officers know they will be held accountable for their actions every time."

The care home called 999 in June 2022 after Mr Burgess, a single-leg amputee and wheelchair user, reportedly grabbed a knife and threatened to stab staff.

PC Smith sprayed synthetic Pava pepper spray into Mr Burgess's face and used his baton to try to knock the knife out of his hand, with PC Comotto deploying her Taser - all within a minute and 23 seconds of entering the pensioner's room.

Mr Burgess was taken to hospital where he contracted Covid and died 22 days later, but the officers were not being held responsible for his death.

The court previously heard that Mr Burgess' behaviour was "out of character" and that his movements with the knife were "extremely quick", deputy care home manager Donna Gardner said.

Judge Christopher Hehir told jurors: "The reason for his behaviour that day, we now know, is that he was delirious as a result of a urinary tract infection."

Prosecutors had claimed the force used against Mr Burgess, who had been reportedly waving a serrated cutlery knife around and telling staff he would "take pleasure" in murdering them, was "unjustified and unlawful" given his age and physical condition.

The court heard both officers repeatedly asked Mr Burgess to drop the knife, with PC Smith warning him: "Put the knife down mate, or you will be sprayed or tasered. That's up to you."

Footage from body-worn cameras played to the jury during the trial showed PC Smith then directly spraying Mr Burgess's face.

The care home resident then raised the knife a couple of times as PC Smith used his baton to try to get the weapon out of his hand.

When this failed, PC Comotto deployed her Taser.

PC Smith previously told jurors he did not see that Mr Burgess was disabled and using a wheelchair as he was focused on the knife the pensioner was holding in his hand.

During her evidence, PC Comotto said she believed using the Taser was the safest way to "protect" Mr Burgess as she feared her colleague using the baton again would cause more harm.

She explained that she knew from her training the risk of injury to Mr Burgess was higher with a baton than with a Taser.

The officer said: "It was proportionate because other tactics had failed. If I didn't act, something worse could happen."

"I'm not a trigger-happy officer," she added. "It's the first time I've fired my Taser."

Mr Burgess' family, through solicitors Bhatt Murphy, said they were "disappointed and saddened" by the verdict.

They said they believed Mr Burgess had been treated in a "callous" manner by officers.

"From the beginning we have engaged in these legal proceedings in the hope that lessons will be learned," they added.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said both officers should face a gross misconduct hearing for potential breaches of the police standards of professional behaviour, with PC Comotto facing a further misconduct allegation relating to comments she made on social media after the incident.

IOPC director Emily Barry said: "We know this case -- including the police body-worn footage that was released during the trial – has caused understandable concern in the community.

"It was right that the evidence was put before a jury so the officers could be held accountable and we respect the jury's decision."

American-British influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been charged by UK prosecutors with allegations of rape and other offences.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed on Wednesday that it has charged the Tate brothers with 21 counts and issued a European Arrest Warrant in 2024 to order their extradition to face trial.

Andrew Tate, 38, is reportedly facing 10 charges, in relation to three women in the UK, including actual bodily harm, controlling prostitution for gain, human trafficking, and rape, according to Sky News.

His brother, Tristan Tate, 36, is reported to be facing 11 charges in relation to one woman in Britain, including actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and rape.

A CPS spokesman said: “We can confirm that we have authorised charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm against three women.

“These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police.”

The British prosecutors said that criminal proceedings in Romania against the kickboxers-turned social media influencers must be completed before the Tates can be extradited to England.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendants have the right to a fair trial,” the spokesman said.

“It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Earlier this year, Romania lifted its travel ban on the Tate brothers, after having been restricted from leaving the country since their initial arrest in 2022. They face accusations of rape and human traficking, however, such allegations have yet to be brought to trial.

The pair have denied all allegations, claiming that they are politically motivated due to their influence, particularly among young men in the West.

Andrew Tate also faces a civil suit brought forward by four women in the UK, accusing him of sexual and physical abuse. Three of the four women had previously accused him of rape in 2014-15. However, the Crown Prosecution Service decided in 2019 not to prosecute.

UK Rail Station Volunteer Ousted For Wrongthink Over 'Pride' Train… And He Is Gay

A volunteer has been banned from a railway charity scheme in the UK after he asked a basic question regarding a train that had been wrapped in ‘Pride’ colours.

The Telegraph reports, “Matthew Toomer, 48, was thrown out of West Midlands Railway’s ‘Adopt a Station’ scheme after he privately contacted company bosses to express concern about its ‘Progress Pride’ train.”

What awful hateful thing did Mr. Toomer say?

He commented on a social media post about the rebranded train, asking if it would “return to its natural state once the event is over.”

Oh the horror.

He was then “summoned” to attend a meeting with railway officials and informed that he views (he didn’t express any views) “do not align with [WMR’s] values and mission.”

He was then banned from the station volunteer group altogether as punishment for merely hinting at not being fully onboard with the trans train.

Mr Toomer told reporters “As a gay man myself, I want to stress that this wasn’t about objecting to visibility.”

Yes, even the gays can’t ask questions about the relentless ‘progress’ of THE MESSAGE.

“My concern was the increasing tendency of public transport organisations to take visible positions on divisive issues,” Toomer further outlines, adding “The Progress Pride flag has become associated with particular ideological stances -- particularly around gender – which not everyone, including many within the LGB community, fully endorse.”

“My position was simply that public services should remain neutral and welcoming to everyone,” he emphasised.

Retired UK Constable Detained for Social Media Post Receives Financial Compensation for Wrongful Imprisonment

Under leftist Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the United Kingdom is sinking ever deeper in the censorship quagmire, signaling an authoritarian future where free-speech will be completely criminalized.

But that is not to say there has been no pushback from the British society.

Now, a retired police constable has been awarded some measure of justice in the form of compensation of £20,000 [US$ 27,000] after a wrongful arrest over one social media post in which he warned about rising anti-Semitism.

The Telegraph reported:

“Julian Foulkes, from Gillingham, Kent, was handcuffed at his home by six officers after replying to a pro-Palestinian activist on X. Kent Police officers searched his home and commented on his ‘very Brexity’ book collection. The force detained the 71-year-old for eight hours, interrogated and issued him with a caution after officers visited his home on Nov 2 2023.”

Back in May, Kent Police admitted that the caution was a mistake and deleted it from Foulkes’s record.

Kent’s chief constable Tim Smith phoned Foulkes personally and offered an apology for the ‘ordeal’.

A letter sent to Foulkes’ lawyers confirmed the Police force agrees to a settlement, after Foulkes launched a legal challenge supported by the Free Speech Union (FSU) for wrongful arrest and detention.

“The letter, sent by a lawyer for the force, read: ‘I am instructed to accept the offer of early resolution without recourse to litigation by payment of compensation in the sum of £20,000 plus your client’s reasonable legal fees in full and final settlement of all prospective claims arising from his arrest on Nov 2 2023’.”

Foulkes is pleased that Kent Police followed their apology with compensation.

“’However, this was never about money’, he said. ‘For me, it was a simple matter of right and wrong and I now need to see that the full investigation I have been promised takes place and necessary actions are taken to prevent any recurrence’.”

On Friday (May 30), Kent Police took the unusual step of referring itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

“Mr. Foulkes’s X post replied to an activist threatening to sue Suella Braverman, the home secretary at the time, for calling pro-Palestinian demonstrations in London ‘hate marches’. In the post, sent two days before police visited his home, Mr Foulkes wrote: ‘One step away from storming Heathrow looking for Jewish arrivals…’”

What Foulkes’s was referring to were the news reports of ‘an anti-Semitic mob’ storming an airport in Dagestan, Russia, ‘looking for Jewish passengers’.

Bryn Harris, chief legal counsel for the FSU:

“’The [FSU] is pleased to see that Kent Police has done the right thing and apologized to Julian, with due compensation. This is, however, merely the end of the beginning -- we now need to see a full and credible investigation into the outrageous violations of Julian’s basic freedoms’.”

UK Defense Stocks Hit Record On Warfighting Buildout Begins

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced a significant overhaul of the U.K.'s defense posture, warning that the British Armed Forces must be prepared to fight a future war in Europe or the Atlantic Ocean.

"We are moving to warfighting readiness," Starmer said while unveiling the government's 130-page "Strategic Defence Review," which calls for strengthening military forces to deter Russia and other adversaries across Europe and for ramping up weapons production.

Starmer said the U.K.'s defense spending would rise to 2.5% of GDP by 2027 and set out the "ambition" to raise that figure to 3% of GDP in the next Parliament --- that is, by 2034 — "when economic and fiscal conditions allow.

The U.K.'s shift to warfighting readiness will include:

Defence spending to rise from 2.3% to 2.5% of GDP by 2027.

Ambition to reach 3% by 2034, though political debate continues over accelerating that timeline.

£15bn allocated to modernize the U.K.'s nuclear warheads and maintain the Trident deterrent.

£1.5bn to build six munitions factories for sustained production.

7,000 long-range weapons (missiles and drones) to be built domestically.

Creation of a Cyber and Electromagnetic Command for enhanced digital warfare capabilities.

£1.5bn for military housing upgrades through 2029.

£1bn for battlefield targeting technology upgrades.

Continued investment in Dreadnought-class submarines to replace the Vanguard fleet starting in the early 2030s.

The report identifies Russia as an "immediate and pressing danger," with concerns it could rearm quickly if a ceasefire is reached in Ukraine. China is labeled a "sophisticated and persistent challenge," while Iran and North Korea are called "regional disruptors."

On Sunday, U.K. Defence Secretary John Healey acknowledged that the British military has shrunk to its smallest size in 300 years, warning that it now faces the challenge of reversing "15 years of recruitment and retention failure" across the armed forces.

In markets, UBS analyst Tricia Wright told clients that Starmer's move to increase "warfighting readiness" sent shares of U.K. defense companies like "BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce hit all-time highs with Babcock International at multi-year highs."

UBS analyst Daniel Graf made a very interesting point in a note earlier titled "Defense Is To Europe What AI Is To The US":

The UBS EU Defense Spending basket (UBXESPND) has more than doubled YTD alone. Rheinmetall shares are +205% YTD. Is it a bubble in a concept stock (where viable alternatives do not come a dime a dozen) or a real winner with fundamental support? HOLT analysis shows Rheinmetall's current share price still implies revenue growth below management guidance. UBS Research calculate Defense stocks overall are currently pricing in less than 3% of GDP spent by European NATO members in the medium term -- at a time when the 5% era appears to become a plausible reality.

Analyst Sven Weier's research shows 2030 may not be the peak in sales and he takes a benign view on capacity and supply chain constraints. Don't sell your Rheinmetall shares just yet. Also, despite the broader basket's performance, the UBS Crowding Score still screens Neutral. Remember this basket trades c. $250 mn per day at 10% of ADV. Next stop: NATO Summit.

All told, there are two dominant investment themes: AI in America and defense in the West. These themes are likely to remain intact well into the 2030s as the AI race with China intensifies and hemispheric defense spending increases across the U.S. and Europe. Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips has had to apologize to MPs after the Labour party missed the deadline to ‘publish its plans for inquiries’ into the scandal.

GB News reported:

“In late April, Phillips had vowed: ‘The framework for what local authorities will be tasked with will be released later in May, as will Baroness Casey’s review, which I have committed to publishing’.

‘All those things will be dependent on each other. I cannot stand here and say exactly what that will look like, because I do not know what Baroness Casey will say about any particular area and what I might need to focus on’.

‘I will follow the facts; wherever they tell me that there are victims who need help, that is where I will go’.

Today (2), Phillips apologized for the delay in the publication of the plan, and told MPs that ‘Baroness Casey had requested a ´short extension´ to her audit’.

The Baroness’ review is expected very shortly.

“Baroness Casey has requested a short extension to her work from the Home Secretary and the Home Secretary has informed the Home Affairs scrutiny committee of this and we expect it very shortly. And when we have the report, the Government will respond to it, and lay out its plans with all the evidence in hand.”

The Labour Party’s poor handling of Britain’s rape gangs has become a scandal in itself, following the old formula ‘it’s not the crime, it´s the coverup’.

Britain Imposes Islamic Blasphemy Law as Man is Convicted of Burning a Quran

Britain’s transformation into an Islamic state is almost complete.

The case in question relates to a man who has been convicted of a “religiously aggravated public order offence” after he burned a Quran outside the Turkish consulate in London.

The Spectator magazine reports:

This law has been created by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and District Judge John McGarva. Between them they have prosecuted and found a man guilty of a ‘religiously aggravated public order offence’ because he burned a Quran outside the Turkish consulate.

The CPS mounted a prosecution conflating the religious institution of Islam, with Muslims as people, and a British judge has accepted this. Islamic blasphemy codes are now being enforced by arms of the British state, via what the National Secular Society describes as ‘a troubling repurposing of public order laws as a proxy for blasphemy laws’.

Hamit Coskun burned a Quran outside the Turkish consulate in February, before being attacked by a man named Moussa Kadri who has since pleaded guilty to the assault. Mr Coskun was initially charged under the Crime and Disorder Act with ‘intent to cause against the religious institution of Islam harassment, alarm or distress’.

On sentencing Coskun, the left-wing activist Judge John McGarva said Coskun’s conduct was “provocative and taunting” and accused him of harboring a “deep-seated hatred of Islam and its followers.”

“It’s not possible to separate your views about the religion to your views about the followers,” McGarva declared.

“Your actions in burning the Quran where you did were highly provocative, and your actions were accompanied by bad language in some cases directed toward the religion and were motivated at least in part by hatred of followers of the religion.”

Coskun was fined £240 ($325) with a statutory surcharge of £96 ($130).

According to the BBC, Coskun denounced his conviction as “an assault on free speech and will deter others from exercising their democratic rights” and said he would lodge an appeal.

Meanwhile, Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch said that such laws would set Britain on a “road to ruin.”

“This case should go to appeal,” she said. “Freedom of belief, and freedom not to believe, are inalienable rights in Britain.”

Migrants In The UK Are Receiving £1 Billion Per Month In Welfare Benefits: Report

Migrant households are siphoning almost £1 billion in welfare benefits every month in Britain, a report has claimed.

The Telegraph highlights government figures from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) which reveal that registered households with at least one foreign national in March received £941 million in universal credit.

The welfare scheme allows low-income or unemployed people in Britain to claim government subsidies.

The figure just three years ago was £461 million, meaning it’s on course to double in just half a decade.

It’s hardly surprising given the massive increase in mass migration to the country under the so called Conservative government.

2023 saw migration climb to a record of 906,000. The latest data shows that 948,000 people came to Britain in 2024.

Migrants are eligible to apply for universal credit as soon as they acquire residential or refugee status in the Britain.

The report notes, however, that the total cost to the taxpayer of foreigners is way higher, when healthcare, education, and housing are factored in.

A recent study conducted by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) discovered that housing asylum seekers, a great deal of whom are in the country illegally, has increased to approximately £4.7 billion a year.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage commented that leftist Prime Minister Kier “Starmer is choosing migrant benefits over winter fuel for pensioners.”

“On the day that we learn migrant benefits cost us £1bn a month, many hundreds are currently crossing the English Channel. Labour are ruining our country,” Farage urged.

The migrant problem in Britain has gotten so advanced that even Starmer himself has had to pivot, admitting this month that mass migration has failed and undermined social cohesion to such an extent that Britain risks becoming an “island of strangers”.

Lawyers Citing Fake Cases Generated by Artificial Intelligence, UK Judge Warns

Lawyers have cited fake cases generated by artificial intelligence in court proceedings in England, a judge has said -- warning that attorneys could be prosecuted if they don’t check the accuracy of their research.

High Court justice Victoria Sharp said the misuse of AI has “serious implications for the administration of justice and public confidence in the justice system.”

In the latest example of how judicial systems around the world are grappling with how to handle the increasing presence of artificial intelligence in court, Sharp and fellow judge Jeremy Johnson chastised lawyers in two recent cases in a ruling on Friday.

They were asked to rule after lower court judges raised concerns about “suspected use by lawyers of generative artificial intelligence tools to produce written legal arguments or witness statements which are not then checked,” leading to false information being put before the court.

In a ruling written by Sharp, the judges said that in a 90 million pound ($120 million) lawsuit over an alleged breach of a financing agreement involving the Qatar National Bank, a lawyer cited 18 cases that did not exist.

The client in the case, Hamad Al-Haroun, apologized for unintentionally misleading the court with false information produced by publicly available AI tools, and said he was responsible, rather than his solicitor Abid Hussain.

But Sharp said it was “extraordinary that the lawyer was relying on the client for the accuracy of their legal research, rather than the other way around.”

In the other incident, a lawyer cited five fake cases in a tenant’s housing claim against the London Borough of Haringey. Barrister Sarah Forey denied using AI, but Sharp said she had “not provided to the court a coherent explanation for what happened.”

The judges referred the lawyers in both cases to their professional regulators, but did not take more serious action.

Sharp said providing false material as if it were genuine could be considered contempt of court or, in the “most egregious cases,” perverting the course of justice, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

She said in the judgment that AI is a “powerful technology” and a “useful tool” for the law.

“Artificial intelligence is a tool that carries with it risks as well as opportunities,” the judge said. “Its use must take place therefore with an appropriate degree of oversight, and within a regulatory framework that ensures compliance with well-established professional and ethical standards if public confidence in the administration of justice is to be maintained.”

A record first five months of 2025 brought 14,812 illegal arrivals, despite a 20 per cent drop in irregular border crossings into the European Union.

“A major point of contention between Britain and France has been the French authorities’ refusal to turn back migrants who are already in the water.

The French government has now indicated its willingness to change tactics and turn back boats in the shallows, but are demanding more money to do so.”

BritCard: Inside Labour's "Progressive" Digital ID (Part One)

A new report from a British government think tank offers some clear insights into the Starmer administration’s plan to introduce a universal digital ID.

That digital ID -- in one form or another – is a major part of the endgame is not any kind of revelation. We’ve known that was the plan for years, but the report tells us quite a lot about how it’s going to be sold to the public.

I guess we should go ahead and dive in.

The Thinktank

The report was published just this week by Labour Together -- formerly “The Common Good” – a thinktank founded in “Labour’s wilderness years” to help “make Labour electable again”, according to their about page.

Translation: They’re centrist globalist Blairite shills who helped undermine and destroy the only vaguely genuine movement in the last 50 years of British “democracy” and now publish reports to push a globalist agenda.

According to the Electoral Commission, they received over £ 9 million in donations last year (from only 234 donors), much of which seems to have been “donated” by Labour Together Limited, a for-profit company. The murky world of Westminster finances is not my focus, however, and I’m sure it’s at least passably legal and no more corrupt than is standard practice in those circles.

Exactly how a think tank with eighteen employees, ten advisors, four policy fellows and five board members manages to spend 9 million pounds writing a newsletter a week, a report every two months and doing some online polls I have no idea.

It’s a good question for another time, perhaps. For now, we know everything we need to know -- Labour Together are old-fashioned New Labour types shilling for globalist tyranny.

The Authors

We won’t talk long about the authors, because there’s not much point. They’re names on a title a page, and while I’m sure they believe in the words they write (or at least, asked ChatGPT to write), it’s also true their job requires they believe it.

I just wanted to point out that the three supposed authors of this work on technology have no tech backgrounds at all. The closest any of them comes is Laurel Boxall, the “about the authors” section of the report proudly declares she has a Masters from Cambridge “focusing on AI”, but a bit a of digging reveals it’s a Masters in “Digital Humanities” with a focus on fictional portrayals of AI in media. Apparently, that qualifies you to become a “tech policy advisor”.

Which is interesting, because it demonstrates that they consider fictional portrayals of AI to be as relevant to this work as real AI experience. An apposite commentary on the state of society in general.

The Name

They’re calling it “Britcard”, probably because the massively out-of-touch market relations types who end up naming these things thought it sounded friendly.

The prefix “Brit” makes things sound familiar and non-threatening. “Britcard”. So much better than mandatory government-issued digital identity papers. (“Britcoin”, too, down the line, instead of programmable digital currency…but that’s another article for another time).

You can sort of see what they’re going for, the kind of knowingly cringe, ironically patriotic self self-aware Britishness that was the hallmark of New Labour in the halcyon days of Blair pre-Iraq.

That’s very much the crux of it -- Blair.

Digital ID is Blair’s baby. One of the authors works for the Tony Blair Institute. Labour Together was founded by Blairite MPs and is staffed with ex-members of Blair’s cabinet.

The name is old-style Cool Britannia soft authoritarianism. The informal tyrant who isn’t afraid of having a jam sesh and getting down with the kids. The “cool” teacher who let’s you use his first name, undoes his top button and plays the guitar at weekends.

The Report

Published just a few days ago, the report is titled…

BritCard: A progressive digital identity for Britain

…which tells you most of what you need to know, without even bothering to read the body of the text. But, unfortunately, “bothering to read the body of the text” is a pretty accurate summary of my job description, so on we must plough.

I would note that even in using the word “progressive”, the authors demonstrate a remarkable ability to be out of touch. That word’s hay day is long over, and it has been regarded with scepticism if not outright suspicion by most thinking people for a long time. As we mentioned above, it betrays an almost old-fashioned tone more in keeping with the politics of a previous generation.

The report is 28 pages long, but once you remove the double-talk and graphs, it can essentially be summed up in three bullet points:

Digital ID will help control illegal immigration.

It can then be expanded to other things, too.

Polls say everyone is fine with this.

Points 1 & 2 tell us how this rollout is going to go. The “BritCard” will be introduced, primarily, as a part of a “strategy to tackle illegal migration” [page 8]:

Given the very significant political and delivery benefits, moderate costs and the deliverability of this policy, the Government should announce as early as possible in Summer 2025 its intention to explore introducing a digital right-to-work and right-to-rent credential, as part of its plan to tackle illegal migration.

This will include the new legislation required that will make “BritCard” the only way to apply for a job or find a place to live [page 25]. Employers and landlords will be forced to use it.

Then, once that is in place, it will expand to include other services [page 14]:

Over time, the same system used to support the right-to-work and right-to-rent credentials could underpin many other features, allowing users to access and use a wide range of data and attributes generated by interacting with the public sector. For instance, the digital driving license and associated data, a proof of age feature, and healthcare records could be accessed and shared at the user’s discretion via BritCard.

Much like the smoking ban, the plan is to introduce it gradually…

The BritCard would be made available from a given date (say 1 September 2027), and made compulsory for all workers, tenants, employers and landlords to use from a later date (say 1 March 2028). It would have a gradual effect since only a small proportion of the population signs a new employment contract or rental agreement each year. We recommend that the credential is made mandatory for new employment and rental contracts signed following the introduction date. We do not recommend obliging employers and landlords to re-check all existing employees and tenants, to avoid creating unnecessary disruption and costs

What’s interesting is that, while this is supposedly a report written by “tech advisors”, in many ways it’s more like an internal memo from an advertising agency. It’s about selling a system that essentially already exists in piecemeal form under a unifying rebrand to make it seem “eye-catching”.

To support better awareness and uptake of the new credentials, the Gov.UK App and Gov.UK Wallet could be relaunched as the “BritCard App”. This would create an eye-catching, memorable brand

All the while, pump the media space with marketing to sell the concept as normal or even “familiar”:

By introducing a mandatory, universal, national identity credential the Labour Government has the opportunity to build a new piece of civic infrastructure, something that would become a familiar feature of daily life for everyone in the country.

That kind of sentiment -- the casual creepiness of the liberal tyrant – is interspersed throughout. Phrases that no doubt seemed benign to the author in the writing, but appear decidedly ominous in the reading.

This, for example:

For a progressive society to work, it needs to be able to collectively agree who is allowed to join it

Disregarding the very poor English, the sentiment is…off-putting.

Very poor English is another recurring theme. It is, honestly, barely literate in places, to the point it is entirely believable it was AI-generated using prompts.

As for the polls showing “widespread public support” for the plan, well, we can disregard them.

Polls are malleable. They are a tool to market pre-existing policy rather than steer undecided policy. Labour Together apparently did their own polling and -- shockingly – found that most people agree with them.

Those are the general points; in terms of specifics, the report is fairly threadbare. There is very little in the way of technical analysis; indeed, there’s very little in the way of understanding of reality.

For example, the report stresses -- multiple times – that the proposed digital identity would be “mandatory, universal and free of charge”, without ever processing that you can’t make a smartphone app mandatory without making smartphones themselves mandatory. And while they may be ubiquitous, they are currently far from universal.

The report pays lip service to “in person support channels” for “non-smartphone owners and those with low digital-skills”, but doesn’t ever actually try to explain how that could practically work.

But of course none of that really matters to the intended audience.

Reports like this don’t exist to inform or convince, they’re only meant to echo the opinions of people who already agree with their conclusions. They don’t really exist to be read at all, they exist to be referenced.

A jumping off point for articles like Polly Toynbee’s in yesterday’s Guardian.

It is not an argument, it is an excuse to turn a made-up poll into a hyperlink. A source for source’s sake. A Wikipedia footnote they know most people will never click.

Further, it is a part of a process that must be seen to take place to maintain the illusion of political cause and effect. If it appears slapdash and lazy, that’s largely because it is. A token effort required to tick a box.

This is our desired outcome, we need some research to recommend that we do it.

And, hey presto, here it is.

Summary

In closing, we should ask “what does this report tell us about digital ID we didn’t already know?”

And the answer is a little, not a lot. We already new digital ID schemes were inevitable, and would likely be pushed through (in the UK anyway) as an answer to illegal immigration.

What this report shows us is the marketing strategy for the coming year, and it’s fairly simple:

Rebrand digital ID to a friendly-sounding name.

Introduce it for a specific purpose on a hot-button issue.

Make it mandatory for that purpose.

Slowly add more optional services.

Gradually make them mandatory too.

Which we could probably have figured out, but it’s always nice to get things in writing.

One more thing…

I want to leave you with a simple question. The final sentence of the report is a recommendation that the government should…

Hire a very senior, high-profile and experienced political figure head or tech sector professional to be the cross-government champion and external face of its digital identity programme

I know enough about the workings of these things to know that this sentence would not be there if the author(s) didn’t have a shortlist of names in mind, if not one specific person.

British gay couple charged over rape and murder of baby they wanted to adopt

British secondary school teacher Jamie Varley has been charged with the murder and sexual assault of a 13-month-old boy that he and his boyfriend John McGowan-Fazakerley were in the process of adopting.

The couple appeared in Preston Crown Court on Monday, nearly two years after the baby boy, Preston Davey, was pronounced dead at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in 2023. Both defendants were initially arrested, but later released on bail.

Lancashire Police later re-arrested and charged Varley with a slew of offenses including murder, two counts of assault by penetration of a male child under 13 and five counts of child cruelty. He also stands accused of multiple counts of taking indecent photographs, distributing an image and possession of an extreme pornographic image of the victim, as well as other offenses.

His co-defendant McGowan-Fazakerley has been charged with causing and allowing the death of a child, sexual assault of a child, and two counts of cruelty to a child, the police said.

The authorities noted that all of the charges were related to the 13-month-old victim.

Judge Robert Altham, who presided at Monday’s brief hearing, set the trial date for April 14, 2026. Both defendants were remanded into custody and will remain in prison awaiting a plea hearing in October, according to local daily The Blackpool Gazette.

The judge noted that while he regretted the delay, it would ensure that all expert witnesses were ready for future proceedings, the newspaper wrote on Monday.

Varley has been suspended from work since 2023, according to the Cidari Multi Academy Trust, which now runs the school where he was employed at the time of the alleged crime. “He has not been permitted onto, or attended school premises, or been permitted to contact pupils or colleagues,” the organization told the Blackpool Gazette in a statement.

The trust is reportedly “considering its position in relation” to Varley’s employment. “Jamie was suspended on full pay as we are legally obliged to do,” Cidari told the local newspaper when asked whether Varley has been receiving a salary since his 2023 arrest.

A group of concerned citizens has been gathering for two and a half years to protest this hotel, which has been converted into housing for illegal migrants.

However, for this protest, people are also gathering in solidarity with a teenage girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by two Roma migrants in the nearby town of Ballymena.

This alleged assault sparked a peaceful protest that quickly escalated into riots across the region, with police and citizens clashing in the streets.

At the root of this anger is growing frustration over both illegal and legal migration to Northern Ireland.

In Ballymena, members of the Roma community have reportedly been involved in various crimes, including operating brothels, engaging in human trafficking, and prostitution.

It appears that the alleged sexual assault committed by individuals from that community was the tipping point that triggered widespread outrage.

Belfast Showdown: Patriots vs. Antifa and Pro-Immigration Activists

In Northern Ireland's capital, two groups clashed outside City Hall: patriots against mass immigration and pro-open border activists with labour union, LGBTQ, and Antifa banners.

Belfast City Hall saw opposing demonstrations on Saturday, June 21, separated by police amidst high security. Rebel News aimed to understand attendees' motivations for this monthly confrontation.

Anti-immigration protesters waved Northern Ireland and Irish tricolour flags, and homemade signs. One sign from an elderly woman criticized the "corrupt as [bleep]" British government, while a middle-aged man's placard declared, "We will not become second-class citizens in our own country," featuring a Union Jack.

They expressed frustration over soaring healthcare and housing costs, skyrocketing taxes, and no tangible benefits from mass immigration. They also resented being branded “racists” by the mainstream media and opponents for voicing these legitimate concerns.

Rebel News interviewed a dozen anti-immigration protesters, all sharing similar complaints. The subsequent interviews with the pro-immigration group quickly turned hostile.

The opposition, adorned with Antifa, LGBTQ, labour union, and Gaza flags, exhibited textbook intolerance. Antifa, the “anti-fascist” group mimicking fascist thuggery, heavily intimidated reporters upon arrival, blocking access and warning attendees against speaking to “far-right” media.

When asked the reasons for their attendance, many were uninterested in dialogue.

Efforts to engage with the pro-immigration crowd was stonewalled. Dissent isn't tolerated.

This is 2025's "tolerance"---patriotic voices smeared, debate crushed by mob tactics.
