Joe Biden Day 1: Order on Transgender Rights in Sports and Bathrooms

President-elect Joe Biden vowed to his supporters that, on his first day in office, he will begin removing any legal recognition of the two sexes by adopting pro-transgender polices.

Biden’s campaign website promises:

On his first day in office, Biden will reinstate the Obama-Biden guidance revoked by the Trump-Pence Administration, which will restore transgender students’ access to sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms in accordance with their gender identity. He will direct his Department of Education to vigorously enforce and investigate violations of transgender students’ civil rights.

The Obama-era “guidance” dismissed the science of two biological sexes by allowing “sex discrimination” in Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) to include “discrimination based on a student’s gender identity, including discrimination based on a student’s transgender status.”

In October, Biden also gave support for transgender medical treatments for children who may suffer from the psychological disorder known as gender dysphoria. He said during an ABC town hall that eight-year-old children should be allowed to decide if they are transgender.

“The idea that an eight-year-old child, a ten-year-old child, decides, you know, ‘I want to be transgender.’ That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier,’” the future president said. “There should be zero discrimination.”

Biden Reveals Plans To Speed Up Vaccine Rollout, Asks Americans To "Mask Up" For 100 Days

For weeks ahead of the election, Joe Biden kept hammering Trump's response to the covid pandemic without explicitly stating what or how he would do differently, besides "urging" Americans to wear masks (which is what California has been diligently doing even as the state now boasts the highest number of cases in the nation) and to "listen to scientists." Today, for the first time, the president elect laid out in specific terms what will would do to eradicate the covid plague and how he plans to speed up the vaccine rollout.

Addressing the nation near his home in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden said he would order increased production of syringes and other supplies to ramp up vaccinations against COVID-19 and improve upon the Trump administration rollout that he has called a “dismal failure.”

Trump had aimed to give vaccine doses to 20 million Americans by the end of 2020. But only 11.1 million coronavirus shots had been administered as of Thursday out of more than 30 million doses distributed to states, amid widespread distrust and roughly 40% of the population refusing to get vaccinates.

Biden promised to do better and to get 100 million vaccine shots into the arms of Americans during his first 100 days in office. Federal officials have largely left states to manage distribution, resulting in big differences in vaccination rates. The Trump administration has said it expects 1 million shots to be delivered per day by the end of next week.

“This is a time to set big goals and pursue them with courage and conviction because the health of the nation is literally at stake,” Biden said.

Biden said he will instruct FEMA would to begin setting up community vaccination sites on his first day in office, in locations like gymnasiums, sports stadiums and community centers, where retired doctors would administer shots to teachers, grocery store workers, people over 65 years old and other groups who do not currently qualify.

“Mobile clinics moving from community to community” will partner will local health-care professionals to get vaccinations to “hard-to-reach” communities, he said.

According to a document released by his transition team, Biden would invoke the Defense Production Act to increase production of equipment needed to distribute the vaccines, such as glass vials, needles and syringes. He would also use the law to support vaccine refrigeration and storage. States that use their National Guard in the effort would be reimbursed by the federal government.

As part of Biden's "aggressive" plan to defeat covid, he called on all Americans to wear masks in public for 100 days to combat the spread of the coronavirus, saying it was “stupid” that face coverings had become a political issue.

“This is a patriotic act,” Biden said in a speech in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday outlining his plan to accelerate vaccinations against the virus. “We’re asking you, we’re in a war with this virus.” Biden also criticized Republican lawmakers who have refused to wear masks. “What the hell is the matter with them? It’s time to grow up."

“For God’s sake, wear a mask - if not for yourself, for your loved ones, for your country,” Biden said, despite a recent Danish study which found that masks provide the wearer with only limited protection against COVID-19 infection. That study, conducted in April and May in which 6,024 adults were divided into two groups, found that after one month, 1.8% of the people wearing masks had been infected, while 2.1% of the people in the control group had tested positive.

Biden also called for increasing vaccine distribution in lower-income neighborhoods not currently well served by public health hospitals and pharmacies. Biden also plans a marketing campaign to encourage those skeptical of the vaccine to get inoculated.

“The vaccine rollout in the United States has been a dismal failure so far,” he said. Five changes, he said, will help the U.S. meet his goal of 100 million doses in his first 100 days.

Health Experts Call For Suspension Of Pfizer Vaccination Among Elderly After Norway Deaths

Update (1630ET): In what can only be described as a somewhat concerning turn of events, health experts from Wuhan, China, called on Norway and other countries to suspend the use of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines produced by companies such as Pfizer, especially among elderly people (following the surge in deaths in Norway described below)

China's Global Times reports Chinese experts said the death incident should be assessed cautiously to understand whether the death was caused by vaccines or other preexisting conditions of these individuals.

Yang Zhanqiu, a virologist from Wuhan University, told the Global Times on Friday that the death incident, if proven to be caused by the vaccines, showed that the effect of the Pfizer vaccine and other mRNA vaccines is not as good as expected, as the main purpose of mRNA vaccines is to heal patients.

A Beijing-based immunologist, who requested anonymity, told the Global Times on Friday that the world should suspend the use of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine represented by Pfizer, as this new technology has not proven safety in large-scale use or in preventing any infectious diseases.

Older people, especially those over 80, should not be recommended to receive any COVID-19 vaccine, he said.

All of which is a problem since it is the elderly who are at most risk (quite frankly at any real risk at all) and thus who need the protection the most. The Chinese health experts instead say that the most elderly and frail should be recommended to take medicines to improve their immune system.

Of course, one cannot help but note the irony of scientists from the source of the plague that has killed millions around the world and destroyed lives/economies almost everywhere, is now calling for the cessation of the process to protect against the plague.

Trump's Acting Defense Secretary Says He 'Cannot Wait' to Leave the Job

Inauguration Day, it appears, can't come soon enough for Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller.

He told reporters Thursday that he "cannot wait to leave this job," according to a transcript released by the Pentagon on Friday.

"Believe me," Miller said on his 67th day on the job since President Donald Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper after the election.

Miller was speaking to reporters en route to Washington, D.C., where tens of thousands of National Guard members are securing the city ahead of troubling threats in the leadup to President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration – and after a violent mob overtook the U.S. Capitol last week.

Though Miller has been in the acting secretary job for just a couple of months, he has faced several challenging tasks. He has overseen the start of the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines, troop drawdowns in Iraq and Afghanistan, questions about the response to the Capitol riot, and now a massive activation of National Guard members leading up to the end of his boss's presidential term.

In the short conversation with reporters, Miller appeared to break ranks with most military leaders who cite China as the top long-term threat to the U.S. When asked about the biggest Defense Department challenge that needs to be fixed, he said:

"What do I think? I think it's changing our mindset that is focused on. … Everybody says, 'Oh, all we've been focusing on is counter violent extremism, and the Chinese stole a march on us.' … Historians will figure that one out. … I think it's not accurate."

The Navy's top officer released a new 10-year strategy this week that is largely focused on China.

"China," the strategy states, is "our most pressing long-term strategic threat."

Miller went on to say that if he had been in the job longer, he would have liked to clean up some of the Defense Department's notoriously slow and complicated acquisition processes.

"Talk about [a] wicked problem," he said.

He zeroed in on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, which the Congressional Research Service describes as the Defense Department's largest weapon procurement program.

"I gotta tell you, yesterday we were talking to some guy, some lieutenant colonel, or colonel. [We] said, 'What are you flying?' [He] said, 'F-35,'" Miller recalled. "I was like, 'That's a piece of …' and he laughed, and I was like, 'No seriously, tell me about it,' and he … said …'Unbelievable aircraft.'"

A defense official who was traveling with Miller said the acting defense secretary did not end the sentence about the F-35 being a "piece of…" with any particular word.

The campaign made the official announcement in a “Lunch with Loren” video posted to YouTube on Friday afternoon.

“I had a long conversation with Dr. Pidgeon last night and he strongly urged, as he said in that video, that we drop this lawsuit,” Culp said in the video. “He said that the Attorney General’s Office would probably string this out years, costing us millions of dollars. I’m not willing to ask you for that money just to end up having a judge throw it out for standing and then having the state, through that judge, require us to pay back to the state the costs incurred. And I guarantee you they would.”

The “Culp for Governor” campaign filed a lawsuit in King County Superior Court against the Washington Secretary of State asking for injunctive relief and demand for an audit of paper ballots, vote counting machines, and voting results in King, Clark, Thurston, Pierce, Kitsap, and Skagit counties…..

We received a lengthy letter from Dominion's defamation lawyers explaining why they believe that their client has been the victim of defamatory statements. Having considered the full import of the letter, we have agreed to their request that we publish the following statement:

American Thinker and contributors Andrea Widburg, R.D. Wedge, Brian Tomlinson, and Peggy Ryan have published pieces on www.AmericanThinker.com that falsely accuse US Dominion Inc., Dominion Voting Systems, Inc., and Dominion Voting Systems Corporation (collectively “Dominion”) of conspiring to steal the November 2020 election from Donald Trump. These pieces rely on discredited sources who have peddled debunked theories about Dominion’s supposed ties to Venezuela, fraud on Dominion’s machines that resulted in massive vote switching or weighted votes, and other claims falsely stating that there is credible evidence that Dominion acted fraudulently.

These statements are completely false and have no basis in fact. Industry experts and public officials alike have confirmed that Dominion conducted itself appropriately and that there is simply no evidence to support these claims.

It was wrong for us to publish these false statements. We apologize to Dominion for all of the harm this caused them and their employees. We also apologize to our readers for abandoning 9 journalistic principles and misrepresenting Dominion’s track record and its limited role in tabulating votes for the November 2020 election. We regret this grave error.

‘Kill All Republicans’: Amazon Sells 204 Items Promoting Violence, Hate

Amazon terminated its contract with free speech platform Parler for “violent content on your website.” But Amazon itself deals with merchandise that advocates the death of all Republicans or specifically targets President Donald Trump.

The Media Research Center found at least 204 examples of merchandise sold on Amazon that promoted violence, either toward President Donald Trump, Republicans or members of the police force. Riot gear, including tasers, brass knuckles and stun sticks were also sold. Some of these violent products included a flag with a graphic image of Trump blowing his brains out, a mug with the slogan “Where is Lee Harvey Oswald now that we really need him?” and a black T-shirt with a red slogan, “Kill All Republicans.” The shirt that urged the death of Republicans was even a sponsored listing on Amazon.

Amazon accused Parler of “potential hate speech,” while it is selling actual Nazi memoribilia and jewelry covered with swastikas. And while Americans were outraged at the death of police officer Brian D. Sicknick who was struck with a fire extinguisher at the Capitol riot, Amazon sells at least 130 pieces that condone that kind of violence with the hateful slogan, ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards). That ACAB term is popular with rioting members of Antifa.

The Amazon Terms of Service states, “Amazon does not allow products that promote, incite or glorify hatred, violence, racial, sexual or religious intolerance or promote organizations with such views. We'll also remove listings that graphically portray violence or victims of violence.” These terms of service do not apply to media. Therefore, the Media Research Center did not examine music, books, television or movies.
