THIRD study finds that COVID-19 antibodies fade “very, very quickly,” rendering vaccine useless

The third such study in recent days to make this suggestion, a new paper published by researchers from Guy’s and St. Thomas’ National Health Service Foundation Trust in London has determined that the antibodies developed after infection with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) only last a very short time, meaning any future vaccine for the novel virus will be certifiably useless.

After analyzing the immune responses of patients and health care workers who became infected with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), researchers from this institution found that the antibodies created to destroy the virus waned rather quickly, typically within just a few short weeks. After a couple of months, only 16.7 percent of patients still had any antibody response at all.

“The study found that 60 percent of the patients had a ‘potent’ antibody response at the peak of their battle with the coronavirus,” reports reveal. “After about two months, however, just 16.7 percent of the patients had a potent antibody response.”

These findings, along with those of earlier studies that reportedly came to similar conclusions, have drastic implications for the development of a vaccine for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). In essence, there will never be a vaccine good enough to combat the novel virus, no matter how “potent.”

“Not only do antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 fade, and perhaps fade quickly, studies have also shown that only 15 percent of those who test positive for antibodies make the neutralizing antibodies necessary to develop immunity in the first place,” says Dr. William Haseltine. “And not all of those who make neutralizing antibodies make them at high levels. Some of those infected make no antibodies at all.”

In a Washington Post article on 18th October 1988, former director of the CIA accused De Beers and the Oppenheimer family of refusing to sell the US a large quantity of industrial diamonds necessary for war production.

Completed in 1944, the report concluded that the Nazi’s were getting their diamonds from the same syndicate that supplied the Allies.

Major A. W. Schmidt, the senior US investigating officer, stated in the report that this trade was protected by senior officials in the British Governments Ministry of Economic Warfare and accused these officials of being treasonous and of prolonging the war. Schmidt additionally reported that measures taken to curtail the flow of diamonds to Germany were “…sabotaged, not by the British Government, but by the representatives of the Diamond Trading Corporation in London through their domination of the Diamond Committee of the MEW [Ministry of Economic Warfare].”

the Minister of Economic Warfare during this period [1942-5] was Lord Selborne. Amongst his other associations, Selborne was a member of the top level “circle of initiates” of the secret society formed by South African gold and diamond magnate, Cecil Rhodes – who founded De Beers. Following Rhodes death this powerful and secretive group was run by Lord Alfred Milner with Lord Selborne in the deputy leader slot. Following Milner’s death in 1925, he assumed the leadership of the “group.” Among his other wartime duties he headed Churchill’s Special Operations Executive (SOE).

A so-called “false order,” the Shickshinny knights were composed of individuals who leaned to the extreme political right. The Order’s “Armed Services Committee,” included such military notables as British Admiral, Sir Barry Domville – a former head of Naval intelligence who was imprisoned in WWII for his pro-Nazi activities. Domville headed a pro-Hitler group called “The Link” which was intimately associated with the powerful and traitorous pro-Nazi “Right Club.”

Membership of this “club” was composed of over 250 leading lights of Britain’s Establishment. Included was John Milner Bailey, the son of Sir Abe Bailey - another South African gold mining millionaire who was a contemporary of Rhodes. Sir Abe was also the main financial supporter of the Rhodes-Milner group after Rhodes death and was an “initiate” of Rhodes secret society. A close friend of both Rhodes and Milner, he named his son after the latter. Significantly, John Milner Bailey was the largest financial contributor to the “Right Club,” and had married Winston Churchill’s daughter Diana, some years earlier.

One knowledgeable source told this writer that one family, the Oppenheimer’s, effectively control the world’s gold, diamond and platinum market. The Oppenheimer business empire of today was, of course, drawn largely from the old business empire of Cecil Rhodes. During the course of his life, Sir Harry Oppenheimer held Rhodes in the highest regard, referring to him as “the Colossus.” Sir Harry, who later converted from Judaism to Christianity, was made a Knight of St. John – the British equivalent to the Catholic SMOM.

He shares this distinction with other notable Establishment figures such as Sir Otto Beit, the son of the German born Alfred Beit - a contemporary of Cecil Rhodes in South Africa’s Kimberley diamond fields and also a shareholder in De Beers. Alfred Beit also generously helped to finance Rhodes secret society.

Lord Carrington is also a Knight of St. John and a former director of Rio Tinto Zinc, Hambros Bank and was also Co-President of Chatham House (all are, or were at one time, associated with the Rhodes-Milner group). Lord Carrington is also a leading light of the secretive Bilderberg Group. Since its inception in 1954 (the same year that the London gold market reopened following its closure in 1939) Bilderberg has had a large German representation over the years.

In southwestern Namibia lies a vast area that’s been off-limits to visitors for more than a century. It stretches along the Namibian coast for a distance of 320 km starting from the South African border at Oranjemund to around 72 km north of Lüderitz. This region is known as Sperrgebiet, which is German for "Prohibited Area".

Sperrgebiet was created by the German Empire in the beginning of the 20th century during the German occupation of South-West Africa to allow the Deutsche Diamantengesellschaft, or German Diamond Company, unrestricted access to the vast diamond deposits in the area. After the Germans lost control of the territory to South Africa during World War 1, mining rights were taken over by DeBeers, who had control of the area until the 1990s, when the Namibian government purchased a fifty percent stake.

In 2008, Sperrgebiet was converted into a national park covering some 26,000 square kilometers of the Namib desert. It is still largely undeveloped and much of it continues to remain inaccessible to visitors.

The Sperrgebiet is one of the world's richest diamond beds. The gems were brought to the earth surface by volcanoes that erupted nearly 3 billion years ago. As the volcanoes eroded, the diamonds were broken down and washed hundreds of miles down the Vaal and Orange Rivers, and spread up the coast by powerful tides. De Beers is still picking diamonds from the coast and from the sea —more than a million carat every year.

Although the entire area is forbidden, in reality only about 5% of the Sperrgebiet is actually mined, while the rest acts as a kind of buffer territory and remain largely untouched.

This organization, the African-American Institute (AAI), has received over $135 million from the American taxpayer in the past twenty-five years. How this money has been, and is being, spent ought to be a matter of concern to the taxpayer and to Congress.

To find such applicants, AAI seeks advice from, among others, "nationalist movements associated with the OAU (organization of African Unity] and the U.N.," thus assuring, "the legitimacy of the exiles' situation and their suitability for the desired training." These organizations include the African National Congress (ANC) and the South-West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO). Both groups have records of terrorism and are committed to establishingby force if necessaryMarxist governments in southern Africa. The ANC, in fact, is regarded by many to be almost completely controlled by the South African Communist Party. It also is widely believed that the recent murder of one-time ANC member Bartholomew Hlapane was ordered by ANC because he had testified about ANC-South African Communist Party links before the U.S.. Senate.6 Never- theless, AAI continues to provide U.S. financed scholarships to students named by these Marxist organizations. ANC Education Committee chairman Fred Dube was contacted by telephone in New York in December 1982 and confirmed the longstanding relationship between the AAI and the ANC, saying:

The only problem we have in dealing with AAI is that they decide what degrees our students are allowed to pursue. We want more students trained in the sciences. They insist that our students focus on the liberal arts, and that our students study in more African than American schools.

While AAI has been dealing with various Marxist organizations, several equally anti-apartheid black organizations, who do not share the Marxist commitments of ANC or SWAPO, have been virtually excluded from this scholarship selection process. One such organizdtion is INKATHA, led by Chief M. Gatha Buthelezi. With a paid membership of over 700,000 black South Africans, INKATHA has long fought apartheid in South Africa by peaceful and non-Marxist means. Nevertheless, according to sources close to INKATHA, the AAI usually ignores INKATHA representatives and does not ask them for names of "worthy" scholarship applicants. This was confirmed by several U.S. government officials.”

The UNITA students complain bitterly about AAI's role during their struggle to adjust to their changing circumstances. "we all knew the African-American Institute favored the MPLA, so we felt we were on our own," one student explains. Adds another student: "One AAI program officer tried to convince us that it was our duty to go back home and work for the MPLA.11 At one point the students began receiving phone calls from MPLA leaders visiting the U.S.

The major complaint about AAI conferences is that the guest lists consistently lean to Marxist or pro-Marxist governments and organizations and either exclude or severely limit participation by Africans and Americans who favor the U.S. Administration's policy prescriptions for African development. (This was true in the Carter Administration as well as in the Reagan Administration.) The conference in Harare typified this. The guest list included five members of SWAPO and several members of the ANC and the Pan African Congress; yet Chief Buthelezi, representing 750,000 black South Africans was not invited.

In fall 1982, for example, AAI honored Angolan (MPLA) foreign minister Paulo Jorge with a dinner in New York, according to AAI program officer Yolande Zahler. This dinner was followed several weeks later by a reception for another MPLA Angolan government official, hosted by David Rockefeller.

But around Slovo there was an unmistakeable aura of "I am boss here." Born in 1926 in Lithuania, now a Soviet republic, this former Johannesburg barrister is a high-ranking KGB staff officer; although reputedly a Soviet citizen, he travels on a British passport.

I do not know what persuades the British authorities to allow the unsavoury Slovo, founder and since 1985 Chief of Staff of "Umkhonto we Sizwe," the terrorist wing of the ANC, to come and go as he pleases between London, East Berlin and Odessa, as he masterminds the terror campaign. Ever since Harold Macmillan began the British stampede from Africa with his speech on the Winds of Change, there has been an ignorance in Whitehall, a reluctance to face up to the outcome of a Marxist takeover of southern Africa, a frantic desire to appease rather than to prevent.

But that role is undeniable: of the thirty-strong national executive of the African National Congress twenty-five are dedicated Communists.

One of their defectors, Bartholomew Hlapane, underscored this to a 1982 US Senate committee investigating terrorism in southern Africa. "I decided," he testified in 1982, "to pull out . . . because innocent people were being arrested and did not know that the Communist party had in fact captured the leadership of the African National Congress."

Hlapane revealed that it was Joe Slovo who had drafted the "Freedom Charter," ostensibly the cornerstone of the ANC programme. The ANC assassinated this squealer on December 18, 1983. They and the SACP have their own Mafia-style of ethics. Among Slovo's aides is White Communist terrorist Dennis Goldberg, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1960 by Pretoria along with the Algerian-trained Nelson Mandela for a conspiracy which included the manufacture of 48,000 landmines and 210,000 hand-grenades.

Early last year Goldberg undertook not to commit further acts of violence. Botha released him: Goldberg fled and surfaced in March 1985 in London again evidently declared persona grata by the Home Office as Slovo's principal lieutenant, having declared to shocked Israeli audiences on the way north that he intended to resume the terror campaign.

"Innocent people will be killed," Goldberg announced. "That's the price." Details of a new Marxist terror campaign in South Africa, using landand limpet-mines, were thrashed out at a unique secret ANC conference in Zambia last June.

The ANC makes no bones about its intent. "We want to make the death of a collaborator," explained Tim Ngubane at California State University on October 10 [1986], "so grotesque that people will never think of collaborating."

That is what it is all about. While world public opinion, steeped in the images of World War II, yawns at the soporific disarmament conferences in Geneva, the real war is already being fought and lost. "South Africa's 'liberation'," London's Communist Morning Star gloated on February 3, "will change the balance of forces throughout the world."

This is why the Joe Slovos have only one real fear now: that the Communist hand will be revealed before it can plunge the Black knife into Pretoria, and sever the economic jugular of the western world.

“In support of the “Struggle against Colonialism, Racism, and Apartheid,” for example, the GDR has, under UN auspices, established its own anti-apartheid commission. Created in march of 1978, this forum has been used as an organizational focus around which East Germany’s various anti-apartheid actions, on the home front, have been directed. According to one Western source, these various “Solidarity Campaigns” carried out on the home front have netted approximately $150 million. Most of that went to the various guerillas groups, such as the African National Congress and the South-West Africa People’s Organization (the two groups which are carrying out insurrections against the South African and the Namibian authorities, respectively).

Throughout the Third World, but particularly so in Africa, the GDR is engaged in the of educating thousands of “cadres” “in the techniques of managing centrally directed economic and political institutions and by inculcating Soviet-style Socialist doctrine in the process, the GDR is seeking to build what may be called a Marxist-Leninist infrastructure in a number of closely allied Third World states (such as Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Angola).” An integral part of the educational process is the use of trade union delegations, women’s organizations, and youth groups throughout the developing world in the service of Marxist education.

Throughout the Near East and in Africa, East German military and security cadres (estimate run between 5,000-10,000) are actively involved in the establishment of intelligence services, in the training of guerrilla commandos, and in the organization of national military systems.

A more critical problem which faces the GDR, as it does the Soviet Union, is the tricky questions posed by the Third World demand for a “New International Economic Order.”

In some instances, however, it is asserted that Third World countries seem incapable of distinguishing “between socialism and imperialism and as a result end up making unjustified demands on the socialist states.”

There has also been a reverse flow of African government and guerilla leaders who have travelled to the GDR in growing numbers as of late. That list prominently includes Samora Machel of Mozambique, the late Agostinho Neto of Angola, and Mengistu Haile Mariam of Ethiopia. Together with Congo Brazzaville (plus South Yemen), these are the countries which have enjoyed the vast bulk of the East Germany’s attention over the past few years. And the GDR has also been an important place to visit for the two most prominent figures of the African guerrilla movement today: Sam Nujoma of SWAPO, and Oliver Tambo of the African National Congress (ANC). Until it achieved independence in 1980, East Germany was also a major point of destination for Joshua Nkomo, co-leader of the Patriotic Front – and Moscow’s candidate to take power in that country.

Honecker subsequently announced that East Germany would donate about $2 million worth of “Solidarity Goods” to support the armed insurrection in Rhodesia.

In November 1979, Honecker journeyed to Ethiopia were he signed another Friendship Treaty with the Marxist regime of Mengistu Haile Mariam. The high point of his visit to Addis Ababa, however, was the dedication of the first Karl Marx monument on the African continent.

During his February (1977) trip, Lamberz attended the Third Frelimo Congress in Maputo (the capital of Mozambique). During his time there he met with both Joshua Nkomo and Robert Mugabe, as well as with Oliver Tambo and Sam Nujoma.

The GDR has consistently maintained that it is a bastion of order in Eastern Europe and a militant advocate of a “socialist peace policy” throughout the world.

Nevertheless, (Samora) Machel is a strong supporter of the outlawed African National Congress. During his visit to East Berlin, Machel asserted that his country would prevail in any military confrontation with Pretoria because “our state is a socialist state, and because proletarian internationalism is an integral part of our Marxist-Leninist worldview.”(Keep in mind, Graca Machel was his wife and she is involved in many organisations around the world.)

Far more formidable was a guerrilla movement against South African rule in Southwest Africa (SWA), later independent Namibia, beginning in the late 1960s, by the South West African People’s Organization (SWAPO). The latter would also have remained insignificant had not Portuguese colonial rule collapsed in Angola, directly north of SWA, in 1974-1975. This left a military vacuum from which SWAPO forces could train, equip, and debouch into northern SWA without any hindrance. Interestingly, nothing similar developed on the other side of Africa. Mozambique, where Portuguese rule had also evaporated, had close economic ties with South Africa and was not willing to see those vanish for the sake of anti-apartheid military campaigns. Furthermore, South African special operations forces, both covert and clandestine to varying degrees, severely crippled the MK’s ability to build up and sustain forces capable of attacking South Africa from all of the black African states which bordered South Africa.

To make things far worse for South Africa, and potentially the West in general, the Soviet Union committed huge amounts of military hardware, and military advisers/trainers for FAPLA (the acronym for the Angolan army). Cuba made an even more massive military investment. It ultimately dispatched an expeditionary force to Angola which reached a maximum strength of about 55,000, with a total of almost 380,000 Cuban military personnel serving in the country from 1975 through 1991. If SWAPO took over, or destabilized SWA, whether or not Angolan or Cuban troops moved into SWA, the front line would shift south several hundred miles to the border with South Africa proper.

The ANC was first targeted by the Soviet Union in 1928, when Moscow instructed the South African Communist Part to penetrate the ANC. The SACP is strongly pro-Soviet and well-represented in the ANC’s leadership.

The Soviet Bloc provides almost all (over 90 percent) of the ANC’s military support and training. Most of the ANC’s military training is conducted by Cuban and East German military advisors at several camps in Angola…. We estimate that Moscow also provides the ANC with roughly half of its nonmilitary support; that is, about $25 million annually. The remainder comes from the Scandinavian state (Sweden in particular), the World Council of Churches, and various other international organizations such as the UN and OAU. SACP officials also are in frequent contact with Soviet officials in various southern African and European capitals. Most ANC literature is written in London by SACP members and printed in East Germany. (It further mentions) the pervasive pro-Soviet, Anti-US line in ANC propaganda. (It continues until today)

The ANC maintains a diplomatic and propaganda apparatus designed largely to solicit support from the international community and which maintains offices in 38 countries, and a military wing. The military wing, encompasses over half the ANC membership and is largely based in camps in Angola, with clandestine facilities in states bordering South Africa. There are 500 Cuban and East German advisers and trainers attached to these camps.

In the last two years the ANC’s quest for legitimacy as the sole representative of the South African masses has registered particular success as Western governments have begun to consult with and acknowledge the ANC as a major actor – if not the major actor – in South Africa. (Yet ignoring Buthelezi of Inkatha who had a very large following in SA)

The SACP is a protégé of the Soviet Communist Party Central Committee, which funds and guides it. Moscow sees the ANC as a “progressive, well-disciplined revolutionary movement” and, going back to the Comintern days, has treated the ANC as its “natural ally” in the region deserving of financial, political, and military support. Moscow is actively working to expand its influence over the ANC which was founded by and continues to include significant elements that have nationalist agenda divergent from that of the SACP.

The Soviet Central Committee and other senior bodies appear convinced that the best way to advance Soviet interests in South Africa is by violence and armed struggle. Carefully directed violence, as Moscow sees it, will provoke counteraction and repression by the South African Government, which in turn will contribute to the polarization and politicization of the masses. Violence will disrupt the economy, lead to disinvestment by Western governments, and ultimately promote the collapse of the South African regime.

Other comments:

SACP representation on the ANC’s ruling National Executive Committee (NEC) and other ANC bodies, as well as the ANC’s dependence on the Soviet Bloc, will continue to give SACP members considerable influence over ANC policies.

The SACP and the Soviet Bloc also are likely to continue to have leverage because:

- Thousands of ANC political and military cadres have been trained in the Soviet Bloc or exposed to Marxist-Leninist political education by Communist instructors in ANC camps.

- The SACP has gained entry into black labor through the South African Congress of Trade Unions (SACTU), which is a member of the major international Soviet labor front.

- Most ANC literature is printed in East Germany and the two mainline ANC publications as well as the ANC radio program (Radio Truth) have Soviet Bloc advisers and received Bloc Assistance.

- The Soviet Bloc continues to provide virtually all military assistance received by the ANC. Hundreds of Cuban and East German instructors train ANC military wing recruits in Angola.

- The Soviets also provide limited nonmilitary assistance – such as scholarships to study in Bloc countries – and provide or encourage a wide spectrum of material support through non-Bloc surrogates or fronts.

One event last year tends to confirm that the ANC has at least experimented with passing out weapons to young township militants and perhaps has provided elementary on-the-spot training as well. On 26 June 1985 seven young local blacks died and seven were injured in a series of related incidents in the three townships near Johannesburg…. subsequent ANC claims that police posing as guerillas had given the booby-trapped grenades to inexperienced activists.

In addition, the ANC calls for the creation of new united fronts of other groups, such as women and youth. This strategy enhances ANC claims to represent the majority and advances the work of building unity. Two federations, with extensively overlapping memberships, have developed this line of strategy. The principal group is the UDF, which brings together over 600 organizations; second is the COSATU labor federation, some of whose components are also linked to the UDF. Leaders of both have traveled to Lusaka for meetings with ANC leaders and issued statements of support. Some ANC leaders intend to build these and other federations into the broad popular fronts similar to those called for in classic Marxist-Leninist strategy.

The most visibly active group within South Africa is the mostly unemployed and young township militants who are responsible for much of the violence.

We do know, however, that the SACP is pro-Soviet, semisecret party headquartered in London.

Although blacks reportedly make up 90 percent of the SACP members, the Party continues to be dominated by English-speaking whites and Asians. >>10632549

The Soviets also give or encourage a wide spectrum of material support through non-Bloc surrogates and fronts. The British Communist Party provides a wide variety of support to the ANC in the United Kingdom.

Non-Communist support to the ANC is significant, and it exceeds Soviet bloc assistance in nonmilitary support. One of the two leading non-Communist source of support are the Nordic countries. Various UN entities represent the second leading source of nonmilitary support. Lesser but regular contributions are made annually by the World Council of Churches, various Western anti-apartheid movements, and humanitarian aid groups such as Oxfam.

At a conference at Kabwe, Zambia, last year, the ANC decided to broaden the target of its attacks, to carry the fight outside the cities, and to recognize that death of civilians of all races is unavoidable.

The MK’s military camps appear to be collocated with, albeit in areas separate from, other ANC facilities in Tanzania, Angola, and Zambia. In Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, and Mozambique, facilities are limited safehouses and arms caches.

In their promotional material for a protest taking place on Wednesday 18 November, the PAC has used the highly controversial ‘one settler, one bullet’ phrase to whip-up support for their campaign.

‘One settler, one bullet’ is a term used to drum up anti-white sentiment amongst other sections of South African society. Okkie Terblanche, the DA Shadow Deputy Minister of Police, says that SAPS must now monitor both the PAC and EFF if this sort of language is being employed to market this week’s looming protests in Brackenfell:

“The EFF has stated that they will [shut down Brackenfell]. This is a clear threat to intimidate and destabilise the region. While the EFF is well-versed in incitement to violence, as seen with their Clicks protests and in Senekal earlier this year, the PAC has now also joined the band-wagon, indicating that their members should ‘take up arms’.”

“Police Minister Bheki Cele must ensure that SAPS investigate both the PAC and the EFF for possible incitement to violence. The police have a responsibility to maintain law and order and to protect all learners’ rights to education. The PAC would do well to take heed and not buy into the perpetuation of race-baiting in an effort to buy relevance.”

Harry Oppenheimer has dined fairly often in the residences of African Presidents, such as Zambia's Kenneth Kaunda, who recently welcomed him to Lusaka as an old friend. But when he was invited, along with his house guest Henry Kissinger last September to Libertas, the Pretoria residence of Prime Minister P.W. Botha, it was the first time he had dined there in 34 years.

He is also king of platinum, vanadium and uranium. Companies in his domain are leading producers of coal, steel, nonferrous metals, pulp and paper, automobiles, fruit, wine: You name it. They have major banking, insurance and real-estate holdings. In all, it has been estimated, they account for roughly half the value of South Africa's exports and half the value of the shares traded on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. And that is only South Africa.

Anglo American is the leading corporate presence in Zimbabwe. De Beers runs the diamond mines of Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania and - very discreetly - Angola, whose Government regularly finds itself under South African military assault. (Even more discreetly, De Beers has an arrangement with Moscow, which markets most of the Soviet Union's diamonds through the corporation's London-based Central Selling Organization.) On paper, Anglo American's holdings in Zambia remain enormous, although the dividends that can be banked outside Zambia are meager.

Despite South Africa's exchange controls, the group has managed in recent years to build up large holdings in the United States and Canada through the Bermuda-based Minerals and Resources Corporation, known as Minorco, whose board includes such American business eminences as Citicorp's Walter B. Wriston and Lazard Freres' Felix Rohatyn. Forbes magazine claimed a few years ago that Minorco was the largest foreign investor in the United States. Anglo American modestly says Forbes's calculations were ridiculously inflated, but Minorco's lengthening list of interests includes coal in Appalachia, copper in Arizona, fertilizer in Iowa and investment banking on Wall Street through Salomon Brothers.

The Oppenheimer empire is not easily surveyed, for it is a Chinese puzzle of majority and minority holdings in companies that are directly or indirectly controlled through pyramided holding companies, which also have bewildering cross-holdings. (Thus, De Beers and Anglo American are the largest holders of each other's shares.) The Oppenheimer family interest is maintained through a firm called E. Oppenheimer and Son that owns 8.3 percent of Anglo American; this provides enough leverage, along with the personal holdings of the Oppenheimers as individuals, for the family to keep control.

And that is bound up in the world view passed on by Sir Ernest Oppenheimer, the son of a Jewish cigar maker from Friedberg, Germany, who arrived in South Africa as representative of a small London diamond firm in 1902, at the age of 22, just eight months after the death of the empire builder Cecil Rhodes. Although no one could have known it at the time, Ernest Oppenheimer was Rhodes's successor. Ultimately he was to move the financial base of the new South African mining houses from London to Johannesburg and plunge into the development of the copperbelt in what is now Zambia, thereby extending the mining industry's reach to the borders of what was then the Belgian Congo.

He was still only 37 when, in the middle of World War I, he set up Anglo American. The American got into the name because half the capital came from Wall Street interests such as J.P. Morgan and Company, thanks in part to the efforts of a middleman named Herbert Hoover. (South Africa took over Namibia around that time. >>11591615 Coincidence?)

His (Harry Oppenheimer’s) friend Kenneth Kaunda first took a majority share in his mining companies in Zambia, and then, without notice, dismissed their Anglo American managements. A major investment in a copper mine in Zaire was a total write-off. He respects Robert Mugabe but takes the African leader's Socialist promises for Zimbabwe seriously.

The Reagan Administration bets on this possibility: that sweeping change in South Africa will come from the top down, that the agent of change is actually the white plutocracy.

In a period of semi or complete illegality, the Communist-front organizations and unions assume major importance as legal covers for party members. It suited the apartheid narrative to label Verwoerd’s assassin as deranged rather than what he was, a freedom fighter who had slipped under the regime’s radar.

“The tapeworm made him do it.” For decades this has been a common South African refrain – repeated from schools to watering holes – to dismiss Dimitri Tsafendas’s 1966 assassination of apartheid’s architect, Hendrik Verwoerd, as nothing more than the deranged actions of a man ruled by an intestinal parasite.

But Tsafendas – politicised early as an anti-fascist, anti-colonial communist – did not mention the tapeworm in the two statements he made to police after the assassination.

Madness had been previously used to dismiss the 1960 assassination attempt on Verwoerd by David Pratt, a British-born farmer whose family had moved to South Africa when he was four years old. Pratt, whose bullets Verwoerd survived, had strong links to the National Liberal Club in London.

But was Tsafendas really irresponsible during his attack on Verwoerd? People are still wondering about it. One of them is Gavin Cooper, the son of Tsafendas' lawyer. In a biography of his father, "Under Devil's Peak", which appeared earlier this year, Cooper jr. discusses the possibility that Tsafendas eventually fooled his legal team with his tapeworm story. He says his father questioned the reasons why Judge Beyers prevented him from calling the state's main witness, a prof. Van Wyk, to comprehensively cross-examine his dramatic reversal that Tsafendas was indeed "certifiable" - and therefore irresponsible. After all, that was not the state's case at the start of the trial on October 17, 1966.

"What was behind Beyers' strange refusal?" wanted his father to know.

Cooper also discusses the "revelations" by a number of investigators - he calls them by name - who independently would have found that Tsafendas was, among other things, a member of the Communist Party; that his act was in fact politically motivated (unlike what he had shown investigators to do); that over a long period of time he developed the fine art of inventing his tapeworm story to various psychiatrists; that the influential Genl. Lang Hendrik van den Bergh was certainly aware of Tsafendas's dangerous intentions before the murder of Verwoerd, but allowed him to perpetrate it.

Washington, September 6, 1966.

Verwoerd was killed by Demetrios Tsafendakis, a Portuguese national who was deported from the United States to Greece in 1947. We know nothing yet about his time here except that he was a foreign seaman employed by the Merchant Marine in World War II. His whereabouts between 1947 and 1965 are also vague. He appeared at our consulate in Capetown last November to file a claim for $100,000 in damages resulting from his being deported to Greece, rather than to South Africa (which, he maintained, was his home country). He said that he had made earlier attempts to file his claim at American consulates in France, Switzerland, and Portugal.

Our consul in Capetown informed Tsafendakis that such claims could be filed only through his country’s embassy in Washington or in U.S. Federal Court. He seemed to accept this quietly. He reappeared at the consulate in May, however, and asked that his affidavit be given to Senator Robert Kennedy when the latter arrived in early June. The consulate immediately returned the affidavit with a letter pointing out that Kennedy’s visit was to be very short and busy, and suggesting that Tsafendakis write to him in Washington. (A five-hour search of the Kennedy files this afternoon has yielded no such letter.) This was the last known U.S. contact with the assassin.

We must now decide whether and when to tell the South Africans what little we know about Tsafendakis. Rountree wants to tell them and has asked for instructions. State plans to tell him to go ahead, but will do nothing without White House clearance.

I think we should clear the instruction. In doing so, we run a risk of nasty insinuations by the SAG; but the risks involved in not disclosing information which is certain to be discovered soon seem to me much greater.

It was plain that in these circumstances South Africa was poised to become the dominating and unifying force in Southern Africa against the British-American-supported terrorist onslaught on the Portuguese territories of Mozambique and Angola and on Rhodesia and South West Africa.

It is well to recall that, for instance, the Frelimo terrorists received substantial financial support from the Ford Foundation of the USA, acting most likely as a front for the CIA and the State Department and that the ANC, while banned in South Africa, had its head office in London; and almost every Communist who left South Africa for safer ground, did not go to the Kremlin, but to London. And unquestionably, the Anti- Apartheid Movement (more correctly: the Anti-Afrikaner Movement) in Britain was a British Secret Service operation against South Africa – not forgetting that the US and Britain in an act of war already in 1961 instituted an arms boycott against South Africa; and that the USA was behind Liberia and Ethiopia’s application to the International Court in 1961 to break South West Africa’s ties with South Africa. >>11591615

A D Wassenaar of SANLAM (insurance), Jan Marais of Trust Bank, and Anton Rupert of Rembrandt (liquor) – all three having had strong British and American connections. Wassenaar was married to the daughter of a former Lord Mayor of London, and he was a founder member of the Council of Foreign Relations front organisation, the United States-South Africa Leader Exchange Programme (USSALEP). Jan Marais boasted that his bank was run on American lines and that he was constantly visiting the USA.

Rupert was not only a founder member of USSALEP, but the key figure in its founding. He was financed by the Rothschild group in getting his tobacco concern on a sound basis and in acquiring tobacco interests such as Rothmans in Britain. Although strongly anti-British during World War II, he soon loosened his ties with the Afrikaner nationalists and became an exponent of a Pax Americana, hosting Bobby Kennedy on his visit to South Africa in 1961 and in various ways demonstrating his identification with British-American objectives. >>11765039

These Afrikaans-speaking businessmen, in their movement away from their Afrikaner nationalist compatriots, inevitably moved closer to the internationalist Anglo-American financial interests, represented by Harry Oppenheimer’s Anglo- American Corp., which constituted the core of hostility to Afrikaner nationalism, and which was the successor to the financial interests that forced Britain in the war against the Boer republics in 1899-1902. (See J A Hobson: The War in South Africa, James Nisbetl, London, 1900)

They had been so sure of getting a verdict against South Africa on the South West Africa issue that three days before the announcement of the Court’s verdict on the 18th July, 1966, the American Ambassador to South Africa delivered an aide memoire to Dr Verwoerd’s government that the USA would accept the Court verdict and expected the contending parties to abide by it.

The implication of this was that if Dr Verwoerd had refused to abide by an adverse verdict it would have constituted cause for military intervention by the USA in the guise of the United Nations Organisation, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in anticipation of a court verdict against South Africa having the year before provided what the Chicago Tribune had called a “battle blueprint” entitled “Apartheid and United Nations Collective Measures” by Amelia Leiss for military operations against South Africa. CIVH already has a strong fibre footprint and the ability to rapidly grow this footprint to support a mobile network. However, to run the WOAN it will also need towers and data centres.

There are very few companies in South Africa with pockets deep enough to acquire such assets, which means the Remgro-backed CIVH is the government’s best chance to get the WOAN right.

This shows that it is ready to do what is needed to become a partner in the government’s WOAN and South Africa’s largest wholesale telecoms company.

According to a report by international freight transport insurer TT Club and business improvement company BSI, during lockdowns food prices spiked due to disruptions in production and transportation and individuals stockpiled food due to lockdowns. In the second quarter of this year, thieves more frequently stole food and beverage products and medical supplies, a shift from the incidents recorded in the first quarter involving thieves targeting electronic products.

The report notes that thieves may take advantage of any vulnerabilities to complete a theft, including corruption by customs and police officers, as well as cops amenable to bribes and facilitation payments.

In many of the cargo theft incidents seen in South Africa, sophisticated cargo theft groups, known as “blue-light gangs”, employ cargo theft tactics involving corrupt law enforcement officers forcing cargo truck drivers to stop in unsecured locations at checkpoints established by corrupt police officers working with thieves.

The first of the Geneva conferences was held in early October 1990 and brought to it many of the ANC leaders, including Thabo Mbeki, Tito Mboweni, Popo Molefe, Eric Molobi and Moss Ngoasheng, some of whom were in exile and all of whom were to play key roles in what lay ahead. This was the first inclusive meeting between political party leaders inside and outside South Africa and representatives of the business community. It led to the launch of what became known as the Thabo Mbeki/Barend du Plessis roadshow, which took them around the world to foster international support.

The second Geneva conference was held the following October and its theme was, Opportunities for Growth and Development in a Southern Africa in Transition. The subjects were wide-ranging and focused sharply on matters which later would dominate discussions at the World Trade Centre in South Africa.

Trevor Manuel and Mboweni both made significant contributions but at that stage had no idea of the roles awaiting them!

Over the ensuing years, up to 15 African presidents gathered to participate in Forum meetings in Johannesburg, Harare and Cape Town. Leading businessmen from all over the world came to those meetings – all to gain a better understanding of southern Africa and its opportunities –Mandela participated in all of them and, today, President Jacob Zuma is honouring the Forum with his presence.

As we look back over the past 25 years, what comes through strongly is the powerful influence the Forum has had on developments and thinking in and about southern Africa. Nelson Mandela’s words to Klaus Schwab in Davos in 1999, when he bade farewell, say it all:

“Were it not for the World Economic Forum we would not be where we are today.”

Only one (un)lucky lady has never took the plunge with the president. Swazi princess Sebentile Dlamini – Granddaughter of King Sobhuza III – is merely engaged to him.

In 2002, Zuma paid 10 cows as part of lobola for Sebentile Dlamini, a Swazi princess and granddaughter of King Sobhuza III. However, JZ may have got cold feet on this one. He never went through with a ceremony. Perhaps Jacob Zuma’s wives – all six of them – had something to say about that?

Tom Reeves, one of three SIS instructors already in the center of much controversy and discussion on campus, discloses, in a statement printed in today’s Eagle that his salary has been paid by the Avalon Foundation, an organization which he says “has been accused often in print of being a CIA front.”

It also states in the article that he was accused “of “trouble-making, rabble-rousing and perhaps membership in the Communist Party.””

The ANC’s military veterans have warned that a coup d’état could result should former president Jacob Zuma be arrested for leaving the Zondo commission of inquiry into state capture.

Leader of the Zuma-aligned Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association, Kebby Maphatsoe, told News24 on Tuesday: “We are not saying Zuma is special or is above the law, no, but we are saying you are dealing with a person that, he was a former president, but also he was a former commander-in-chief [of the SA National Defence Force] and [he is] a patron-in-chief of the MKMVA, so obviously I know their position that, they are not going to be happy.”

He said those who loved Zuma might react emotionally and hinted that this could result in his supporters overthrowing President Cyril Ramaphosa.

“In other countries, it happened that there were coups,” he said.

“This happened in many countries in Africa. These things, if you don’t treat them carefully, and if you have not learnt from what happened in other countries – we can’t go to that situation in South Africa,” he said.

“We are honestly advising as people with experience of security risks,” said Maphatsoe, who was deputy defence minister from 2014 until last year. “South Africans, when they rise up, it becomes difficult to control, with the unemployment rate high as it is.”

“Once people get into this mood, it will spread [to] the whole country.”

In a part of the statement that was retracted, but not removed from final versions, the MKMVA says Zondo “was placed under severe pressure by several foreign funded NGOs, and other reactionary forces that advise him” to press charges against Zuma.

Maphatsoe was forced to apologise in 2014 when he called former public protector Thuli Madonsela a CIA agent – and someone who worked with foreign intelligence to destabilize South Africa – without being able to prove it, and without backing by the ANC.

This was in response to her sending a letter to Zuma, asking when he would respond to recommendation in her report about his Nkandla home. Her office did, however, receive training funding from the developmental and foreign aid arm of the United States government, USAID, for training, along with with other Chapter 9 institutions.

The ANC has recently raised concerns about what it considers to be the politicisationn of some members of the SANDF, after a group met with retired defence intelligence chief Lieutenant General Maomela “Mojo” Motau, himself a former Umkhonto we Sizwe commander.

(Keep in mind, MK soldiers were integrated into the SANDF when the ANC took over.)

On February 14, 1967, Ramparts magazine published full-page advertisements in the New York Times and Washington Post announcing that its March issue would “document how CIA has infiltrated and subverted the world of American student leaders over the past fifteen years” through covert ties to the National Student Association. The same day both the Times and the Post devoted front-page stories to covert CIA funding of the National Student Association. The next day the wire services, enlarging on a story in the Washington Star, carried reports that CIA was covertly supporting other youth organizations operating abroad with funds channeled through foundations.

On February 15 President Johnson appointed a committee to review the relationships between CIA and private U.S. voluntary organizations operating abroad. Composed of Under Secretary of State Katzenbach (Chairman); Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare John W. Gardner; and Director of Central Intelligence Helms, the Katzenbach Committee (as it was known) recommended in its March 29 report to the President that it “be the policy of the United States Government that no federal agency shall provide any covert financial assistance or support, direct or indirect, to any of the nation’s educational or private voluntary organizations.”

The committee therefore recommends that the Government should promptly develop and establish a public-private mechanism to provide public funds openly for overseas activities of organizations which are adjudged deserving, in the national interest, of public support.

One promising proposal, advanced by Mr. Eugene Black, calls for a publicly funded but privately administered body patterned on the British Council.,

The British Council established in 1934, operates in 80 countries, administering approximately $30,000,000 annually for reference libraries, exhibitions, scholarships, international conferences, and cultural exchanges. Because 21 of its 30 members are drawn from private life, the Council has maintained a reputation for independence, even though 90 percent of its fund are governmental.

According to the UNESCO Directory of Cultural Relations Services, other nations have developed somewhat similar institutions. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, for example, is entirely government-financed but operate autonomously. The governing body of the Swedish Institute for Cultural Relations consists of both government and private members. This institute receives 75 percent of its funds from the government and the remainder from private constributions.

The basic principle, in any event, is clear. Such a new institution would involve government funds. It might well involve government officials. But a premium must be placed on the involvement of private citizens and the exercise of private judgments, for be effective, it would have to have - - and be recognized to have - - a higher degree of independence.

The prompt Creation of such an institution, based on this principle, would fill an important - - and never more apparent - - national need.

Intelligence Activities and the Rights of Americans Report – April 26, 1976

The activities of intelligence agencies seemed to have gotten much worse these days.

“Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities” at https://www.senate.gov/about/powers-procedures/investigations/church-committee.htm states;

In 1973 the Senate Watergate Committee investigation revealed that the executive branch had directed national intelligence agencies to carry out constitutionally questionable domestic security operations. In 1974 Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Seymour Hersh published a front-page New York Times article claiming that the CIA had been spying on anti-war activists for more than a decade, violating the agency’s charter. Former CIA officials and some lawmakers, including Senators William Proxmire and Stuart Symington, called for a congressional inquiry.

Many agencies, departments or bureaus of the Federal Government have an intelligence function. Of these, the Committee spent the overwhelming preponderance of its energies on five: FBI, CIA, NSA, The national intelligence components of the Defense Department (other than NSA), NSC and its component parts.

It has become clear from our inquiry, moreover, that intelligence excesses, at home and abroad, have been found in every administration.

But if the foundation is unsound or remains unfinished – or if intelligence agencies continue to operate under a structure in which executive power is not effectively checked and examined – then we will have neither quality intelligence nor a society which is free at home and respected abroad.

If we can lose our liberties from a too-powerful Government intruding into our lives through burdensome taxes or an excess of regulations, we can surely lose them from government agencies that collect vast amounts of information on the lawful activities of citizens in the interest of “domestic intelligence.” The Excessive breadth of domestic intelligence operations investigated by the committee and many of the techniques used against Americans can severely chill First Amendment rights and deeply infringe upon personal privacy.

Speech and political ideas are often unsettling. But it is only through free debate and the free exchange of ideas that the people an inform themselves and make their government responsive. And it is through the protection of privacy that we nourish the individual spirit. These are the characteristics that set us apart from totalitarian regimes.

To be worthy of our forebears and ourselves, we need only have the courage to keep to the course. By bringing the intelligence arm of the government within our constitutional system, correcting abuses, and checking excesses, we will enable the proper range of intelligence activity to go forward under law in the service of the county.

SITUATION

1. As a measure to handle any internal disturbance or eventually that might occur, the SANDF is required to provide Force Structure Elements (FSEs) That will be placed on 25 hour standby in all nine (9) provinces.

2. The SANDF is tasked to work in cooperation with SAPS in order to stabilize any internal disturbances in any part of the country.

3. The lockdown alert level in the country was lowered to level 1. As the result of the lowered alert lockdown level of Op NOTLELA was ceased and all FSEs continued with demobilization.

MISSION

5. SA Army Infantry Formation units must avail 10 x composite subunits on 25 hour standy in all nine (9) provinces… to support the SAPS over the period 01 November 2020 till 31 March 2021 in order to support SAPS in stabilizing any internal disturbance in any of the provinces and thereafter await command to be deployed
