Russian Oil Flows to Europe Have Quietly Started Creeping Up

Europe’s resolve to stop buying Russian crude may be starting to ebb.The continent’s oil refineries took 1.84 million barrels a day of crude from Russia last week, according to tanker tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. That was the the third consecutive weekly increase and took flows from Russia to Europe, including Turkey, to their highest in almost two months.Partly it was about Litasco SA, the trading unit of Russia’s largest oil producer, taking barrels to the company’s refineries, and partly it was about Turkey purchasing more. Beyond that, though, steady ongoing declines appear to have slowed.The developments suggest those companies and countries who were unwilling to buy Russian have already stepped back, leaving the market to others who are happier to do so. Russian oil plunged to huge discounts after the country’s invasion of Ukraine as some companies stopped buying.China and India are still the largest buyers of Russian crude, the weekly tracking data show.

The following charts show four-week averages of the destinations of crude shipments from Russian export terminals. With all cargoes loaded at ports on the country’s Pacific coast heading to China, Asia is now taking half of all the crude shipped from the country. That’s up from about one-third at the beginning of the year.

Crude shipments to Asia are dominated by flows to just two countries, China and India. Seaborne shipments to China are averaging about 1 million barrels a day, up from a low for the year so far of 600,000 barrels a day in the four weeks to February 18. India has emerged as the savior of Russia’s seaborne crude exports, with volumes averaging more than 600,000 barrels a day in the four weeks to June 17, up from just 25,000 barrels a day at the start of the year. Beyond India, Russia has yet to find any significant new buyers of its crude in Asia. Russia has lost almost two-thirds of its market for seaborne crude in northern Europe, but the volume it’s shipping there has stabilized following its initial drop after Russian troops attacked Ukraine.Shipments to the region averaged about 450,000 barrels a day in the four weeks to July 17, down from nearly 1.25 million barrels a day in the first four weeks of the year, but little changed over the past month. Most countries have almost completely halted imports of Russian crude by sea, well ahead of EU sanctions on the trade that are due to come into effect in December. Significant volumes — about 370,000 barrels a day — are still shipped to storage tanks in the Netherlands, but even this is down by 35% from the levels seen immediately before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Flows to Rotterdam were the highest in three weeks in the week ended June 17.

The picture in the Mediterranean is very different. Shipments of Russian crude to the region have soared.A large part of the reason is the shipping of Russian crude to Russian-owned refineries in the region, particularly Lukoil’s ISAB plant on the Italian island of Sicily. Turkey has also stepped in to take a lot more Russian crude that has been diverted to the region from northern Europe.It remains to be seen what ISAB will do when the EU ban on seaborne Russian crude comes into force in December. Until then, with no legal impediment to its purchases and few, if any alternatives to its diet of Russian crude, shipments are unlikely to fall.

The Mediterranean picture is repeated in the Black Sea, again driven by increased shipments to a Lukoil-owned refinery in Bulgaria. While flows to Romania are little changed since the start of the year, those to Bulgaria are two and a half times as big as they were in January and early February.

While the trade in Russia’s seaborne crude has been diverted away from northern Europe to Asia and the Mediterranean, so far the self-imposed curbs are having little impact on the overall level of shipments.

Total seaborne crude flows rose in the seven days to June 17, reversing about half of the previous week’s drop. A total of 35 tankers loaded 26.3 million barrels from the country’s export terminals, vessel-tracking data and port agent reports show. That put average flows at 3.75 million barrels a day, up by 6% from 3.55 million in the week ended June 10.

Flows of Urals crude from terminals in the Baltic, Russia’s primary outlet, fell in the week to June 17. But the Black Sea, the Arctic and the Pacific all saw weekly volumes rise, more than offset that drop.

Moscow’s revenue from export duty rose by 6% in the week to June 17, increasing in line with the flow of crude. Those shipments were worth $161 million in export duty, up from a revised $152 million in the week to June 10.

Stocks may stabilize in Asia on Tuesday with US equity futures pointing higher and a gauge of the dollar retreating. Contracts for Japan, Australia and Hong Kong rose, signaling better sentiment after the worst drop in global shares last week since March 2020.

Cash Treasuries trading resumes later in Tokyo after a US holiday Monday. Further volatility in the bonds, under a Federal Reserve intent on sharp interest-rate hikes to tame inflation, could shake global markets anew. Investors continue to monitor China’s Covid flareups and its efforts to shore up economic growth. The yen remains around a 24-year low against the dollar, sapped by the contrast between a super-dovish Bank of Japan and hawkish Fed. In commodities, oil edged up, while prices for metals like copper are being buffeted by concerns about the demand outlook amid weakening global growth.

A trio of Hong Kong cryptocurrency platforms have suspended client withdrawals on the back of a global sell-off that has plunged the digital currency sector into turmoil. On Sunday, crypto trading exchange Hoo.com announced it was stopping all transactions after being hit by a heavy volume of redemption requests, just days following the collapse of Singapore-based crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital. Hoo later said in a blog post that it would restart transactions within 72 hours so it could "process a large number of users' withdrawal demands and ensure the safety and accuracy of withdrawal assets." The Cayman Islands-registered company, launched in 2017, has seen its trading volume drop 10% in the last 24 hours, according to crypto index nomics. Hoo.com's problems come after Hong Kong crypto lender Babel Finance also suspended redemptions on Friday, citing "unusual liquidity pressures" and market volatility, after raising $80 million in fresh fundraising only last month. In an e-mailed response, Babel said it was assessing its liquidity position and had reached a preliminary agreement on some debt repayment, without elaborating. "We have actively communicated with shareholders and potential investors, and will continue to communicate and obtain liquidity support," it added. A third Hong Kong crypto savings platform Finblox backed by venture capital group Sequoia Capital said Friday it would cap daily withdrawals at $500 and stop registering new users. On Monday, Finblox said it was considering legal recourse to address the squeeze. Hoo.com and Finblox did not reply to requests for comment.

Cryptocurrencies plunged into free fall as the price of Luna, one of the biggest, collapsed in a rout last month that triggered a $280 billion sell-off across dozens of digital units, including bitcoin and Ethereum. The plummet sparked fresh calls to regulate the volatile market and raised questions about the underlying value of cryptocurrencies, with bitcoin's value now hovering around $20,000, down to a third of its peak in November.

The world's second-biggest crypto lender, U.S.-based Celsius Network, told users Sunday that it will pause all withdrawals as it faced rumors of insolvency. Last week, Singapore's Three Arrows Capital, one of the biggest crypto players, failed to meet margin calls and some of the fund's positions were reportedly liquidated. Three Arrows, known as 3AC, has said it has hired legal and financial advisers to "work out a solution for its investors and lenders."

The hedge fund invests in a range of cryptocurrency companies and projects. One of the targets is a company behind Terra Classic USD, the stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar that lost parity last month and plunged. Danny Yuan, chief executive officer of 8 Blocks Capital, accused 3AC of taking roughly $1 million from the Hong Kong company's account. "Instead of answering the margin calls, they ghosted everyone," Yuan said in a Twitter thread. "The platforms had no choice but to liquidate their positions, causing the markets to further dump." member I'm showing the USD/Yen Pair and then the $ index on it's own.

As that (yen goes up) it's devaluing and if they din't do those rolls starting last week it would be up around 137 is muh guess.

That will be a permanent feature for the time being.

That is how they are managing it in the short term.

Never had any confidence of cryptos from the start-they (C-tards) always argue it's defi'd but ummm you have a third-party attached to it unless you have them off-exchange.

But even then the value is based on??..complete thin-air plus no one really takes them in the real world for goods/service and the transaction speed (as in # of per second) sucks-not practical at ALL.

Exactly one week ago, when quantifying the dizzying cost of the BOJ's defense of its Yield Curve Control policy (at the expense of the collapsing yen), Deutsche Bank's George Saravelos calculated that the "the BOJ printer is on overdrive", and if the current pace of buying persists, the bank will have bought approximately 10 trillion yen in June. To put that number in context, it is roughly equivalent to the Fed doing more than $300bn of QE per month when adjusting for GDP. Somewhat redundantly, the DB strategist said that this is a "truly extreme" level of money printing given that every other central bank in the world is tightening policy and is one of the reasons why he has been bearish on the yen. And as so many have argued, "currency intervention in this environment is simply not credible given it is the BoJ itself that is the cause of yen weakness."

More broadly, Saravelos echoes what we said in our preview of the end of MMT, writing that he worries that "the currency and Japanese financial markets are in the process of losing any sort of fundamental-based valuation anchor" and, as a result, "we will soon enter a phase where dramatic and unpredictable non-linearities in Japanese financial markets would kick in." He was proven right the very next day, when not an insigificant part of Japan’s bond market imploded as the central bank battles to keep control of its policy goals as some of the largest hedge funds in the world pile on billions in bets that the BOJ is about to lose control, in a repeat of Soros' dramatic crusade against the BOE (which the billionaire democrat ended up winning, and affording him the wealth to be the US government's shadow puppetmaster to this day).

As Bloomberg explained, a small tweak to the Bank of Japan’s bond purchase plan this week blew up an arbitrage strategy popular with overseas investors known as the basis trade (the same basis trade which blew up in 2019 in the US cash/futures market sparking the historic repo crash and the Fed's return to QE). It also exacerbated a supply shortage of government bonds that has ramped up pressure on domestic financial institutions, leading them to turn to the BOJ for help to relieve the strain.

One week ago we described how after four straight days of declines in Japanese bond futures, the central bank announced unlimited purchases of so-called cheapest-to-deliver 10-year notes for Thursday and Friday - securities closest linked to the contracts. That sent the spread between the futures and the bonds underlying them soaring to the widest since 2014 - a massive shock for traders with positions between the two.

As a result, 10Y JGB futs crashed by the most since 2013 as traders bet that the BOJ will be forced to abandon its pledge to cap yields at 0.25%.... while the gap between JGB futs and underlying cash bonds soared the most on record. BOJ Governor Kuroda told reporters on Friday that the BOJ will take appropriate measures to address any decline in bond market liquidity. But he also said he isn’t thinking about raising the 10-year yield ceiling from 0.25%, which means that the liquidity situation will only get worse in the coming days.

NAR: Existing-Home Sales Decreased to 5.41 million SAAR in May

Existing-home sales retreated for the fourth consecutive month in May, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Month-over-month sales declined in three out of four major U.S. regions, while year-over-year sales slipped in all four regions.

Total existing-home sales, completed transactions that include single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops, fell 3.4% from April to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.41 million in May. Year-over-year, sales receded 8.6% (5.92 million in May 2021).

Total housing inventory registered at the end of May was 1,160,000 units, an increase of 12.6% from April and a 4.1% decline from the previous year (1.21 million). Unsold inventory sits at a 2.6-month supply at the current sales pace, up from 2.2 months in April and 2.5 months in May 2021. Sales in May (5.41 million SAAR) were down 3.4% from the previous month and were 8.6% below the May 2021 sales rate. Sales in April were revised down-wut a surprise

According to the NAR, inventory increased to 1.16 million in May from 1.03 million in April.

Headline inventory is not seasonally adjusted, and inventory usually decreases to the seasonal lows in December and January, and peaks in mid-to-late summer. Since inventory is not seasonally adjusted, it really helps to look at the YoY change. Note: Months-of-supply is based on the seasonally adjusted sales and not seasonally adjusted inventory. Inventory was down 4.1% year-over-year (blue) in May compared to May 2021.

After a weekend of carnage and premature obituaries, crypto markets are rising phoenix-like (for now-along with the mkts), helped by news that BlockFi has been bailed out by crypto exchange FTX. BlockFi CEO Zac Prince took to Twitter to explain the deal:

The top three shareholders of CD Industries Holdings, the world’s largest fertilizer company, include both BlackRock and Vanguard. BlackRock and Vanguard are also the top shareholders in Union Pacific, the railroad giant that moves fertilizer and other agriculture inputs all across the country.

The world’s top 10 food companies are also largely owned by both BlackRock and Vanguard. These include Nestlé, PepsiCo, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Associated British Foods, Mondel?z, Mars, Danone, Unilever, and Coca-Cola.

“This will directly impact key agricultural areas such as Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, and California,” Corey’s Digs adds. “This will ultimately affect food supply and pricing. CF Industries is only one of 30 companies dealing with these restrictions.”

Another major transporter of agricultural goods, the Canadian National Railway (CN), is reportedly trying to help the fertilizer market grow. But its largest owner is none other than billionaire eugenicist Bill Gates, whom we reported is buying up as much American farmland as he can get his grubby little demonic hands on.

Back to BlackRock and Vanguard, the finance giants are also top shareholders in AppHarvest, a Kentucky-based agriculture company that boasts one of the biggest greenhouses in the world at 2.76 million square feet on 60 acres. The facility grows only tomatoes, which are sold at Kroger, Meijer, and Walmart.

Then there is Hydrofarm Holdings, based in Pennsylvania. This company also grows crops in a controlled environment with vertical farming technology. BlackRock and Vanguard are top shareholders in this company as well.

BlackRock currently boasts more than $20 trillion in investments, all of which follow the ESG and “socially responsible” guidelines required by its CEO Larry Fink. Fink infamously stated that “it’s time to force people’s behavior to change,” and he is apparently doing that by seizing control of American agriculture.

“Despite the LED lighting, robotics, computer data analysis, and ventilation systems required to power vertical growing facilities of this magnitude, since water is being saved and less of Bill Gates’ landmass is being used, investments are flowing into these alleged sustainable and environmentally friendly facilities, as well as massive greenhouses,” Corey’s Digs further explains.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) is capturing medicine and health care by moving swiftly to pass a new “pandemic treaty” that will give the United Nations total control over public health. This one-two punch of seizing both food and medicine spells a grim future of totalitarian fascism in the entire world.

This information is used to issue the birth certificate which is actually a Bank Note. This Bank Note/Birth Certificate is sent to the State where the “Live Birth” is registered. The State makes a Certified Copy and sends that on to the Department of Commerce, Washington, D.C. From there another Certified Copy is made and sent to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Brussels, Belgium. The IMF is center of the world of International Banking. That Bank Note/Birth Certificate is now listed as a collateral asset for THE UNITED STATES CORPORATION. Now the corporation can take out a loan using your Birth Certificate as collateral. Also note The Words "American Bank Note Company". This is a blown up copy of the words on the edge (see red arrow-cap #1). You will only get a copy of the certificate or as in the example, a certified copy of the original. The photograph shows what the actual certificate looks like. So this is probably why there is so much confusion over President Obama's birth certificate. He and the rest of us can only obtain copies-unless you have a John Brennan type character that can just go in and create one and then pull out the real one-like from Kenya-and then substitute it for one of the these.

The Treasury Department then issues Treasury securities in the form of Treasury Bonds, Notes, and Bills using the bonds as surety for the new securities.This cycle is based on the future tax revenues of the legal person whose name appears on the Birth CertificateThis also means that the bankrupt, corporate U.S. can guarantee to the purchasers of their securities the lifetime labor and tax revenues of every citizen of the United States/American with a Birth Certificate as collateral for payment. This device is initiated simply by converting the lawful, true name of the child into a legal, juristic name of a person. Legally, you are considered to be a slave or indentured servant to the various Federal, State and local governments via your STATE-issued and STATE-created Birth Certificate in the name of your all-caps person. Birth Certificates are issued so that the issuer can claim exclusive title to the legal person created thereby.

The former chief of China's Xinjiang region is now working in a senior agricultural post elsewhere in the country, state media reported last week, an effective demotion for an official Washington accuses of overseeing human rights abuses against ethnic Uyghurs in the nation's far west. Some observers say the move indicates that President Xi Jinping could be trying to ease tensions with the U.S. ahead of a twice-a-decade national congress in autumn, where he is expected to secure a third term as leader of the Chinese Communist Party. It had been unclear where Chen Quanguo was working after he was shifted from his role as the CCP's chief in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region late last year. But, Xinhua News Agency last week reported that Chen had attended a June 14 meeting on agricultural policy as deputy head of the party's so-called Central Rural Work Leading Group. Vice Premier Hu Chunhua heads the group.

According to a source in the Chinese media, this marked an effective demotion in the run up to the national congress, with Chen unlikely to reappear on the front line of the party given that he is 66 years old. It is also unclear whether he can survive as a Politburo member. Chen, who served as the CCP's Xinjiang head from 2016 till 2021, was appointed to the Politburo in 2017 -- ranking him among the party's top 25 officials. He would also have been eligible to join the party's highest body, the Politburo Standing Committee, at the national congress.

Chen's "demotion" has stoked speculation that Beijing is looking to soothe festering tensions with Washington. Chen was sanctioned by the U.S. government under former President Donald Trump, which accused him of violating human rights in Xinjiang. The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, a U.S. nonprofit organization, in May released a report that said Chen had ordered guards to shoot to kill anyone trying to escape detention facilities in the region after "even a few steps." News of Chen's new post emerged soon after the nonprofit's report sparked howls of protest in many Western countries. You've got the two main factions Xi and the ones connected to the old leader-picrel Jiang Zemin's people trying to regain power. Li Keqiang was pushed out more publicly recently becasue he is tied to the old leader (he basically ded) and they are trying to regain control and get rid of Xi-who hasn't left the country in almost a year (he took a trip to Mongolia for less than a day in July last year) knows they would try a coup in a second if he did. Dr Dunegan had been a student of Dr Day at the University of Pittsburgh, and was thus well acquainted with him. He later claimed that Dr Day had asked the attendees not to take notes or record what he was about to tell them during that lecture. Something which Dr Dunegan said he found unusual for a professor to ask of his audience. The reason, Dr Day implied, was that there would be negative repercussions – possibly personal danger – against him if it became widely known that he had talked about the information he was about to relay to the group.

Dr Day apparently also told the group that what he was about to say “would make it easier for them to adapt if they knew what to expect beforehand,” something of an ambiguous statement which became clearer as Dr Day spoke.

Dr Dunegan got the impression that Dr Day was talking as an “insider”, rather than as a person who was presenting a theory or speaking in terms of retrospect. Dr Day’s knowledge seemed concrete as he talked about the future and the strategies of people and organizations that had a defined plan for the world – what he called a “New World System” – and who were in a position to make sure that plan was executed according to a set timescale.

“Mortgage rates continued to surge last week, with the 30-year fixed mortgage rate jumping 33 basis points to 5.98 percent – the highest since November 2008 and the largest single-week increase since 2009. All other loan types also increased by at least 20 basis points, influenced by the Federal Reserve’s 75-basis-point rate hike and commentary that more are coming to slow inflation,” said Joel Kan, MBA’s Associate Vice President of Economic and Industry Forecasting. “Mortgage rates are now almost double what they were a year ago, leading to a 77 percent drop in refinance volume over the past 12 months.”

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on Wednesday pushed back against economists who argue that aggressive Fed interest-rate hikes have increased the odds of a recession or hard landing for the U.S. economy.

The Fed has already raised its benchmark interest rate by 1.5 percentage points since March, the fastest pace in decades, as it tries to quickly get rates back to a more normal level after two years of ultra-low levels close to zero to support the economy during the pandemic.

Powell signaled last week that the Fed would be choosing between a 50 basis point move or a 75 basis point move at their July 26-27 meeting. That would move its policy rate close to 3%. Projections released last week show the median forecast of Fed officials sees the benchmark rate will peak just under 4% next year, although some officials expect rates to go above that level.

The government will release the May PCE data on June 30. “We have both the tools we need and the resolve it will take to restore price stability on behalf of American families and businesses,” Powell said.

Senators unanimously expressed concern about inflation. “Inflation is hitting my people so hard, they are coughing up bones,” said Sen. John Kennedy, Republican of Louisiana. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat of Massachusetts, said she was concerned that the Fed’s plans for additional rate hikes was the wrong medicine to combat inflation and “might drive this economy off a cliff.” Powell said that a recession was “certainly a possibility,” but not the intended consequence of monetary policy moves. “We’re not trying to provoke and don’t think that we will need to provoke a recession,” Powell said. Perhaps reflecting this sense, U.S. stocks DJIA, -0.13% SPX, -0.08% were higher on Wednesday adding to strong gains from the prior session. Attorney General Intervenes After Bill Gates Buys A Massive Amount Farmland In North Dakota

The office of the Attorney General of North Dakota sent a letter Tuesday asking Red River Trust, a group with ties to billionaire Bill Gates, to prove the company’s use of the land does not violate the state’s Corporate Farming Laws.

The trust had acquired six parcels of land in Pembina County.

“I’ve gotten a big earful on this from clear across the state, it’s not even from that neighborhood,” Agricultural Commissioner Doug Goehring, according to Valley News Live. “Those people are upset, but there are others that are just livid about this.”

The letter stipulated that under North Dakota law, there are “certain limitations on the ability of trusts to own farmland or ranchland.”

“The Corporate or Limited Liability Company Farming Law has certain exceptions, such as permitting registered family farms or allowing the use of the land for business purposes,” the letter continued.

According to the letter, corporations that are in violations of this law will have a year to divest themselves of the land and are subject to a civil fine of $100,000.

“Our office needs to confirm how your company uses this land and whether this use meets any of the statutory exceptions, such as business purpose exceptions, such as the business purpose exception, so that we may close this case and file it in our inactive files,” the letter continued.

As of January 2021, Bill Gates is the largest owner of farmland in the U.S., owning 242,000 acres across 18 states, according to the Daily Mail.

We are going to start with the overall Derivatives Market(s) which will show someEYE-WATERING changesfrom Q4 2021 to Q1 2022.

This is BY FAR the biggest increase I have EVER seen (% wise from QoQ)and I've been doing this for over 30 years-not watching this report for that long (probably for about 15yrs) however I have NEVER seen this at such a large % increase ever-THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!-all of these banks have significant depositor bases (which are your accounts-hopefully no one in here uses these completely reckless P'sOS-but you get what I mean here).

When you hear the term "Too-Big-To-Fail" THIS is what they are talking about. They are allowed to do this with full awareness by all the regulators and they are backstopped by the Federal Depositor Insurance Corporation-who doesn't have anywhere close to the amount to cover the depositors held at these walking ded banks-but these are the risks they are taking.

So for you new eyes for this report this is what is meant when I reference that they always need "up" in the markets and sideways or flat does not cut it with the amount of leverage and derivative exposure employed here...and it just got worse by 18.5% (avg)-see below.

I have provided the % increase from last quarter to this for each of the 6 banks below next to the new data and the average of that is:18.55% total increase in derivative exposure for three months.

Don't forget that the FRB is going to give ALL of these fuggers a free pass tomorrow at 4:30pm with the Annual Stress Test "Results"

Shitibank: $46.789.956T Q12022 with Q4 2021 at $43.376.591T a7.8% increase

Goldman Sachs: $44.874.642T (and as mentioned several times in the past a 'special place' in this list with the least amount of "assets" backing the largest amount of Total derivatives) Q1 2022 with Q4 2021 at $42.443.322T a5.7% increase

For Q1 2022 it shows an increase to$463.17Bfrom $75.78B or an increase of $387.39B in three months....cap#2

To put it another wayan increase of just over 6X (roughly 6.11)over the total amount form Q4 2021 in three months

These are almost 100% Ag-they do not break it down by type and also remember this is NOT COMEX Ag but OTC. Cap#3 is from Q4 2021 and shows how ridiculous it was getting with the increases in this starting in 2018 to where it got silly in 2021 (bottom right hand highlighted area showing the Q1-4 short term leases where all the activity was taking place and that is where is largely has been compared to the 1-5 year and >5 year contracts

ranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Thursday Iran is ready to resume talks on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, following talks with his Russian counterpart in Tehran.

Speaking during a joint press conference with Sergey Lavrov in Tehran, Amir-Abdollahian urged the United States to be “realistic” regarding reaching an agreement on reviving the landmark deal. Lavrov arrived in Tehran on Wednesday on a two-day visit, his first since the Ebrahim Raisi government assumed power last year. Amir-Abdollahian voiced hope that the talks underway in Vienna since April last year to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal will resume soon, adding that Iran is "serious" The talks have been stalled due to key disagreements between Tehran and Washington, including the de-listing of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Amir-Abdollahian appreciated the role of Russia, as well as China, in opposing the anti-Iran resolution at the UN nuclear watchdog's board of governors meeting, which called on Tehran to scale up its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Russia and China voted against the resolution drafted by the US and its three European allies, while India, Pakistan and Libya abstained.

Amir-Abdollahian said Iran's lead nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri has been in contact with his European Union counterpart Enrique Mora, expressing confidence that the talks will be back on track soon. about reaching a "good and lasting agreement.”

Addendum to the Precious Metals Derivatives Report put out last night

This data no longer reflects only Silver and the almost non-existent other Precious Metals positions

Because of a mistake made (mine) and it was something that I did not notice or take note of at the bottom of the overall table of Precious Metals Derivatives-there was a change made at the start of THIS year (and announced over 2 years ago-see below) that took the Gold Derivatives that had been classified as a FOREX derivative contracts (which has always been a tacit admission that is was real money) and placed them into the Precious Metals portion of this overall report-where they always should have been**.

You wouldn't necessarily see this "leave" the FOREX classification because that is about $5.5T daily market so unless you were really paying attention this would not have been seen--but knew that there were no Gold Derivative contracts in the Precious Metals Derivative reports in the past. There is very little Platinum and Palladium derivative contracts at all and in the last report, Q4-2021 I stated this. The reason I did not notice this was a bit of the teeth-gnashing-and just missed it-I was doing after completing the overall OCC Derivative Report (The increases there...just wow!)-all of THAT is still completely valid. I still believe that Shitibank was handed a large portion of the Silver Legacy position in 2018-even though I lack proof that I thought I got with this yesterday.

Bottom line:

This (OCC Precious Metals Derivative Reporting) is now USELESS in trying to determine who is doing what regarding Silver Derivative Contracts Positions and what also make me go look again was that Bank of America did not go down at all and they should have since whatever arrangement(s) they have with JP Morgan via those lease agreements-those should have decreased as all of that (from last year) were less than 1 year of maturity.

What we do know (now) is that Shitibank along with JP Morgan (surprise.../s) is the other big player in the Gold Derivative market when in the past it was all hidden in the FOREX "bucket". The last glimpse of what they have done will remain the Q4 2021 OCC report as this is now a combination of Gold and Silver contracts and the very little to almost non-existent Platinum/Palladium/Rhodium etcThey made this change so that they can hide what is going on here with Silver-(as if they don't have enough ways to do this with all the fake data they produce) this just takes it another step further.

Most likely moar swap deals and now being totally able to hide any "fixes" they do by piling on moar of these contracts-so what you see now is the TOTAL amount of all of them and not just Silver.

**Note: Beginning January 1, 2022, the largest banks are required to calculate their derivative exposure amount for regulatory capital purposes using the Standardized Approach for Counterparty Credit Risk (SA-CCR). Under SA-CCR gold derivatives are considered precious metals derivative contracts rather than an exchange rate derivative contract resulting in an increase in reported precious metals.

They announced this change on February 18th, 2020 and made the change to it's framework on January 24th, 2020.

One point I would like to make is that the increase in JP Morgans position was because something went very wrong for them and muh guess is that they wrote a shit-ton of Credit Defualt Swaps on the Ruble and Russian Bond payments-which they have not defaulted on. They are trying to get ISDA (Internations Swaps and Derivatives Association) to declare a full default on the Russian situationbecause they do not like the payment method.As a reference point for JP Morgan's increase of its total exposure: it is 25% more than Wells Fargo's total exposure from it's Q4 2021 report-they (Wells Fartgo) have gone up by the indicated amount 29.6% increase for Q1 2022....so it (JP Morgan's big increase) is likely tied to all this below

U.S. banks ace Fed stress tests to pave way for investor payouts

Wall Street’s biggest banks are set to return tens of billions of dollars to investors after all the lenders passed the Federal Reserve’s annual test of their ability to withstand market turmoil. The banks examined showed that they had enough capital to handle a cocktail of surging unemployment, collapsing real-estate prices and a plunge in stocks, the Fed said in a statement Thursday. Major firms including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. also faced a made-up market shock that tested the resiliency of their trading operations.

While the terms of the tests were announced in February before US inflation had surged to a 40-year high, the scenarios no longer seem as far-fetched amid mounting concerns of a global economic slowdown. The passing marks effectively give banking giants a green light to return billions of dollars to investors in dividends and share buybacks. “Banks continue to have strong capital levels, allowing them to continue lending to households and businesses during a severe recession,” the Fed said in the statement. The Fed said the more than 30 lenders it examined were able remain above their minimum capital requirements during the hypothetical economic meltdown, which would have caused them total projected losses of US$612 billion.

Lenders use the tests to assess how much capital they can afford to dole out to investors without falling below the amount they are required to hold as a cushion. If a firm breaches its so-called stress capital buffer at any point in the year following the exams, the Fed can apply sanctions, including restrictions on capital distributions and bonus payments. With their results in hand, banks can announce their payout plans starting Monday. Estimates by Barclays Plc analysts indicate that JPMorgan is set to lead the way with US$18.9 billion in combined dividends and share buybacks, followed by Bank of America Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co. with US$15.5 billion and US$15.3 billion, respectively. In all, US banking giants are set to return US$80 billion to shareholders this year.

Last year, dividend payouts by the nation’s six largest lenders rose by almost half after the country’s largest banks amassed mountains of excess capital during the pandemic. Morgan Stanley alone doubled its quarterly payout while also announcing as much as US$12 billion in stock buybacks.

The Fed’s 2022 stress tests included “a severe global recession accompanied by a period of heightened stress in commercial real estate and corporate debt markets,” according to the Fed’s website. In a sign of the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact, the hypothetical downturn “is amplified by the prolonged continuation of remote work, which leads to larger commercial real estate price declines that, in turn, spill over to the corporate sector and affect investor sentiment.”

The scenario featured a peak US unemployment rate of 10 per cent, a real gross domestic product decline of 3.5 per cent from the end of last year and a 55 per cent drop in equity prices. It also incorporates a sharp decline in inflation to an annual rate of 1.25 per cent in the third quarter of 2022 on higher unemployment and lower demand.

The New York Fed undertakes certain small value open market transactions from time to time for the purpose of testing operational readiness to implement existing and potential policy directives from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). The FOMC authorizes the New York Fed's Open Market Trading Desk (the Desk) to conduct these exercises to test its operational readiness in the Authorization for Domestic Open Market Operations and Authorization for Foreign Currency Operations.

Bank sector rallies after passing stress test, Bank of America underperform

Shares in the biggest U.S. banks were rising on Friday after they all passed the Federal Reserve's annual health check — but Bank of America (BAC.N) shares underperformed after the test implied it needs a larger-than-expected increase to its capital buffer, which could limit resources for share buybacks.

While the broader equity market rallied on Friday, U.S. shares of UBS Group AG and Credit Suisse Group AG were outperforming, along with Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.N), among the group of 34 financial institutions that underwent the Fed's so-called stress test.While all the companies easily passed, the report implied a big variation in the size of required stress capital buffers (SCB): the amount of money they would need to keep aside in order to stay afloat in a hypothetical downturn
