Hey again. UK anon here with some more of my odd decoding.

An anon dropped a single post about the “7.8mm Hope it was worth it” Q post. Re-posting their graphic. I found some dasting timestamp/post# coincidences. And what might be a Q pic decode as well. See pics.

After the anon dropped his graphic, I thought I might poke about with the timestamp and post number for matches and may have stumbled on to something.

A search for the min/sec timestamp of 9:56 brought up Q post 3106 for the same timestamp. The tree pictured may seem to show a MAPLE TREE with its characteristic red leaves on one side and the other side showing the tree with its leaves shed (mebbe in Winter?).

There is also a post 956 which bears the same saying, “Enjoy the show” as in Q post 325 which mentions the $7.8mm.

May have to wait til Trdo actually revokes his emergency to look for any other numbers matches.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Turkey does not recognize Moscow’s steps taken against Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Russia has formally recognized the independence of pro-Russian separatist regions in eastern Ukraine, in a move that increased tension.

A statement from the Turkish president’s office said Erdoğan renewed a call for a diplomatic resolution of the crisis in Ukraine in a telephone conversation with Putin on Wednesday.

Turkey under Erdoğan has been characterized as the most Kremlin-friendly of NATO’s 30 member states.

VEB, the Russian Bank Sanctioned by Biden Yesterday, Has an Uncomfortable History with Jared Kushner, JPMorgan and Citigroup

Yesterday, President Biden announced a roster of sanctions against Russia over its aggression against Ukraine. (A much broader set of sanctions is planned against Russia by the U.S. and its allies if there is a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, according to U.S. government officials.) One of the entities sanctioned yesterday was state-owned Russian bank Vnesheconombank (VEB).

In a related statement on the sanctions by the U.S. Treasury, it describes VEB as follows: “VEB’s $53 billion asset portfolio makes it large enough to be among Russia’s top five financial institutions. VEB occupies a unique role in Russia’s financial system as the servicer of Russia’s sovereign debt, financier for exports, and a funding source for investment projects with a loan portfolio of over $20 billion. VEB finances Russia’s national economic development, including large-scale projects to develop domestic infrastructure and other industries that are critical to Russia’s generation of revenue.” The problem is that VEB has already been under U.S. sanctions since July 16, 2014 as a result of Russia’s earlier efforts to destabilize eastern Ukraine and its occupation of Crimea. Those sanctions did not work out so well.

In 2017 Wall Street On Parade reported that some of the biggest U.S. mutual fund families, including JPMorgan, PIMCO, Putnam, Fidelity and Vanguard, were sitting with hundreds of millions of dollars of that sanctioned Russian bank’s bonds and notes in their mutual fund portfolios. (That exposure has materially changed since that time. As of December 31, 2021, U.S. mutual funds’ holdings of VEB debt were negligible.)

Then there was the December 2016 meeting by VEB’s then Chairman, Sergey Gorkov, a former intelligence officer appointed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, with Jared Kushner, then President-elect Donald Trump’s son-in-law and advisor. Reuters reported in May 2017 that “FBI investigators are examining whether Russians suggested to Kushner or other Trump aides that relaxing economic sanctions would allow Russian banks to offer financing to people with ties to Trump, said the current U.S. law enforcement official.”

In June 2017 the New York Times reported that when Gorkov came to Manhattan to meet with Kushner in December 2016, he also “met with bankers at JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and another, unidentified American financial institution.” The article notes that “Goldman Sachs bankers also tried to arrange a meeting but ultimately had a scheduling conflict.”

The same New York Times article includes a curious sentence: “Citi and JPMorgan had long, established relationships clearing financial transactions for VEB in the United States, activities not affected by the sanctions.”

If the U.S. was dead serious about imposing meaningful sanctions on Russia, why would it allow two of the largest global banks in the U.S. to continue clearing financial transactions for a state-owned Russian bank on a U.S. sanctions list?

It was not at all clear how the New York Times had made that determination. According to the exact language of the sanctions, any transactions between U.S. banks and VEB may have been unlawful or, at the very least, frowned upon by the U.S. government. The sanctions, imposed on July 16, 2014, read as follows:

“In response to Russia’s continued attempts to destabilize eastern Ukraine and its ongoing occupation of Crimea, the U.S. Department of the Treasury today imposed a broad-based package of sanctions on entities in the financial services, energy, and arms or related materiel sectors of Russia…

“Today, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew determined that persons operating within Russia’s financial services sector may now be subject to targeted sanctions. Following Secretary Lew’s determination, Treasury imposed measures prohibiting U.S. persons and persons within the United States from transacting in, providing financing for, or otherwise dealing in new debt of longer than 90 days maturity or new equity for Gazprombank OAO and VEB, their property, or their interests in property. As a practical matter, this step will close the medium- and long-term U.S. dollar lending window to these banks, and will impose additional significant costs on the Russian Government for its continued activities in Ukraine.”

Both Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase were involved in large scale debt issuance for VEB prior to the sanctions. Reuters reported in 2010 that the two banks were among the bookrunning managers for $1.6 billion in VEB Finance Loan Participation Notes.

Another VEB prospectus indicates that on December 18, 2012 “VEB signed a U.S. $800 million three-year syndicated loan agreement and received the loan on 15 January 2013…The lead-arrangers and bookrunners for the loan were The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Barclays Bank, BNP Paribas, Citibank, Commerzbank AG, Credit Agricole, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, ING Bank, J.P. Morgan and Mizuho Corporate Bank.” Citibank’s parent is Citigroup.

Putin launches invasion of Ukraine; Biden condemns ‘unprovoked and unjustified’ attack

Explosions heard in major Ukrainian cities; attack comes after U.N. chief urged Putin to ‘give peace a chance’. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday announced a military operation in Ukraine and warned other countries that any attempt to interfere with the Russian action would lead to “consequences they have never seen.”

He said the attack was needed to protect civilians in eastern Ukraine – a claim the U.S. had predicted he would falsely make to justify an invasion

In a televised address, Putin accused the U.S. and its allies of ignoring Russia’s demand to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO and offer Moscow security guarantees. He said Russia’s goal was not to occupy Ukraine.

U.S. President Joe Biden denounced the “unprovoked and unjustified” attack on Ukraine and said the world will “hold Russia accountable.” As Putin spoke, big explosions were heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv and other areas of Ukraine.

A full-blown Russian invasion could cause massive casualties and topple Ukraine’s democratically elected government. And the consequences of the conflict and resulting sanctions levied on Russia could reverberate throughout the world, affecting energy supplies in Europe, jolting global financial markets and threatening the post-Cold War balance on the continent.

He said the Russian military operation aims to ensure a “demilitarization” of Ukraine. Putin urged Ukrainian servicemen to “immediately put down arms and go home.”

Putin announced the military operation after the Kremlin said rebels in eastern Ukraine asked Russia for military assistance to help fend off Ukrainian “aggression.” The announcement immediately fueled fears that Moscow was offering up a pretext for war, just as the West had warned.

A short time later, the Ukrainian president rejected Moscow’s claims that his country poses a threat to Russia and said a Russian invasion would cost tens of thousands of lives.

“The people of Ukraine and the government of Ukraine want peace,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an emotional overnight address, speaking in Russian in a direct appeal to Russian citizens. “But if we come under attack, if we face an attempt to take away our country, our freedom, our lives and lives of our children, we will defend ourselves. When you attack us, you will see our faces, not our backs.”

Zelenskyy said he asked to arrange a call with Putin late Wednesday, but the Kremlin did not respond.

In an apparent reference to Putin’s move to authorize the deployment of the Russian military to “maintain peace” in eastern Ukraine, Zelensky warned that “this step could mark the start of a big war on the European continent.”

“Any provocation, any spark could trigger a blaze that will destroy everything,” he said.

He challenged the Russian propaganda claims, saying that “you are told that this blaze will bring freedom to the people of Ukraine, but the Ukrainian people are free.”

The United Nations Security Council quickly scheduled an emergency meeting Wednesday night at Ukraine’s request. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called the separatists’ request “a further escalation of the security situation.”

Anxiety about an imminent Russian offensive against its neighbor soared after Putin recognized the separatist regions’ independence on Monday, endorsed the deployment of troops to the rebel territories and received parliamentary approval to use military force outside the country. The West responded with sanctions.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the rebel chiefs wrote to Putin on Wednesday, pleading with him to intervene after Ukrainian shelling caused civilian deaths and crippled vital infrastructure.

I am seeing speculation that could include US installed biolabs.

At first I was like no way.

Then I started digging.

8) Putin also continues to call it a “special military operation”. Says he wants to demilitarize and “denazify” the country but not occupy it. What does he mean by that? What is he really targeting?

9) Yes, I know he targeted airports and military capabilities; but if Putin really believes, as his admin has stated publicly multiple times, that the US are creating bio weapons at Russia’s borders, then this entire situation could be WAY bigger.

While it's not the first time that the NY Fed has experienced a major "technical glitch" preventing it from executing its daily open market purchase of Treasuries and MBS securities, the Fed sure could have picked a better day for a printer jam.

Moments ago, the NY Fed announced that "due to technical difficulties, today’s Treasury outright purchase operation - scheduled for 10:10 AM - will be rescheduled. It is now scheduled to take place Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:10 AM. Additionally, today’s MBS outright purchase operations – scheduled for 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM - will also be rescheduled to Friday, February 25th, 2022 and Monday, February 28th, 2022 respectively. Information on Treasury securities operations and MBS purchase operations can be found on the New York Fed’s webpage. This does not impact any other operations scheduled for today." This is not the first time the Fed has had "technical issues", and the last time a POMO was postponed in mid-January, yields spiked higher, just as they have done today.

Some context: today the Fed was scheduled to purchase $6.225 billion in TSYs, which was the largest one-day purchase of the final month of QE. Almost as if the Fed is doing all it can to further destabilize the already shaky market mood. Taiwan reports 9 Chinese aircraft in its air defense zone

Taiwan's air force scrambled again on Thursday to warn away nine Chinese aircraft that entered its air defense zone, Taiwan's defense ministry said, on the same day that Russia invaded Ukraine, a crisis being watched closely in Taipei.

Taiwan, which China claims as its own territory, has complained of regular such missions by the Chinese air force over the last two years, though the aircraft do not get close to Taiwan itself. The number of aircraft involved was well off the last large-scale incursion, 39 Chinese aircraft on Jan. 23, and since then, such flybys have been sporadic with far fewer aircraft.

The ministry said the latest mission involved eight Chinese J-16 fighters and one Y-8 reconnaissance aircraft, which flew over an area to the northeast of the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands at the top end of the South China Sea.

Taiwanese fighters were sent up to warn the Chinese aircraft and air defense missiles were deployed to "monitor the activities," the ministry said, using standard wording for how Taiwan describes its response. Taiwan has been warily watching the Ukraine crisis, nervous that China may try to take advantage to move on the island. While Taipei has not reported any unusual movements by Chinese forces, the government has increased its alert level.

China has never renounced the use of force to bring Taiwan under its control, and routinely condemns U.S. arms sales or other shows of support from Washington. Speaking in Beijing earlier on Thursday when asked about the new U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Tan Kefei reiterated that Taiwan was a "core issue" of China's and it would tolerate no foreign interference. "We urge the U.S. side to recognize the high sensitivity of the Taiwan issue, stop interfering in China's internal affairs and stop playing with fire on the Taiwan issue," Tan said.

In the 12-page Indo-Pacific strategy overview issued earlier this month, the Biden administration vowed to commit more diplomatic and security resources to the region.

On Taiwan, Washington would work with partners inside and outside the region to maintain peace and stability in the strait dividing the island from China, it said.

Putin Thought of Everything – Except a Crash of 45 Percent on the Moscow Stock Exchange and Big Russian Companies Losing Half their Market Value

Donald Trump may think Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “genius” for his Ukraine strategy, but the shareholders of the largest publicly traded companies in Russia may have a different assessment today. After Putin ordered a wide scale invasion of Ukraine overnight, the Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX) posted a notice that “it had suspended trading on all its markets until further notice.” The Russian oligarchs must have howled because a subsequent notice indicated it would restore trading at 10:00 a.m. Moscow time.

Shortly after the exchange opened, however, the U.S. dollar denominated RTS Index plunged by 50 percent and the MOEX Index had tanked by 45 percent. You can see where the indices are currently trading at this link.

The stock market pain spread across the largest publicly traded companies in Russia. Gazprom, one of the largest natural gas companies in the world, lost 54 percent during the worst part of morning trading. Rosneft, another large Russian energy company, slumped by as much as 59 percent. Novatek, Russia’s second largest natural gas producer lost 48 percent while one of the largest banks in Russia, Sberbank, plunged by as much as 47 percent.

The plunge in the stock market, together with Russia’s currency, the Ruble, hitting record lows against the Euro and the U.S. Dollar, brought in the Russian central bank, the Bank of Russia, to support the market and the currency. The Bank of Russia announced that it was banning short selling and was initiating “interventions in the foreign exchange market, extend the Lombard List [acceptable collateral for loans], and provide the banking sector with extra liquidity today.”

But the Russian central bank does not have unlimited money to support Putin’s military aggressions against a neighboring country. And with significantly broadened sanctions expected today from the U.S. and much of Europe, which are expected to further hit Russian banks and Russia’s ability to sell its debt, Putin may have created an unanticipated financial crisis at home instead of a muscular display of his military prowess.

The interventions by the Russian central bank had helped the Russian stock indices and major Russian companies trim losses somewhat by 3:20 p.m. Moscow time (7:20 a.m. in New York). (See graph below.) But what will happen when the new announcements of heavier sanctions hit the newswires throughout the day is impossible to predict.

President Joe Biden said the U.S. will impose sanctions on Russia that will hamper its ability to do business in foreign currencies as President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine sparked the worst security crisis in Europe since World War II.

Biden promised to inflict a “severe cost on the Russian economy” in a speech from the White House on Thursday, hours after Russian tanks, troops and aircraft pushed through Ukraine. Russian forces neared the capital city of Kyiv and officials warned it could fall within hours.

Biden announced that the U.S. would sanction Sberbank Russia’s largest lender and four other financial institutions that represent an estimated $1 trillion in assets, as well as a broad swath of Russian elites and their family members. The United States and its allies will not bar Russia from the Swift international banking network because Europe does not want to undertake that action, Biden said-cause the money laudering stops then-DERP!!!! The U.S. also plans to impose new restrictions on Russia’s largest state-owned enterprises that will prohibit them from raising money from U.S. and European investors, Biden said.

The U.S. leader said sanctions were a long-term tool to pressure Putin and were never expected to prevent an attack. The penalties will “take time,” adding “he’s going to test the resolve of the West to see if we stand together and we will.”

But in launching Russia’s most sweeping military action in more than 70 years, Putin has defied global condemnation and new rounds of sanctions. Putin has threatened other countries that may interfere with his Ukraine offensive with historic consequences.

Putin’s audacity is a troubling development for Biden and European allies. The stakes are high for Biden, who has promised to uphold the post-war geopolitical order that Russia’s offensive now threatens.

To cushion the impact of the conflict and fresh sanctions, Biden said the U.S. is coordinating the release of strategic petroleum reserves with oil producing and consuming nations around the world.

Japan will impose additional sanctions on Russia, including restrictions on chip exports, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced on Friday.

On Silver action recently

This just muh opinion based on over 3 decades of doing this (moar observation from 2014 on as I took muh pile and said fuck you very much) so not financial advice at all-do your own due diligence. What you want is physical silver...no ETF's or warehoused (stored on-site by a dealer or Co. that does this for large customers) as you will be in a very long line if you think you will get the metal that is represented by your ETF or contract to house your purchased metal. Remember that all markets are fake and price discovery is a nasty phrase on Wall Street. Anyhow..just remember that metals trade is many times worse in the manipulative tools used to control it and once you understand how it is done it makes it easier to"accept" how it is priced and controlled

A little moar on the metals and how they have traded. The obvious paper barrage on it dropped it back below the 200DMA so we've had one go at it and it is now back-filled last nights action and looking to repeat the performance back to the upper $25 range. What these tech traders look for is this type of action so they try not to get stuck "buying" a hot air rally that doesn't have any support. Tis has ahuge influence on where this pricng goes and the system KNOWS this. It is just like equity trading patterns and they also know where most retail people place orders and know exactly where to "takeit" to flush them out.

They are now stuck between being short and having to go long on the crossing of the 200D MA-this is just how they do it and it is not complicated. The most popular indicator (red line on cap #2) is the 200 Day Moving Average or MA. Think big gap ups in equity's based on some sort of news-and unless it is heavily shorted 9 times out of 10 they return to "fill the gap".

This is a pattern that is good to see but can be negated or created with a very small amount of contract purchase(s) and moar importantly sales on the COMEX with regards to this example. When you see these big drops in both Gold and Silver remember this: the contracts and not actual metals being traded-the entire COMEX is largely a paper-based system and very little actual commodities get traded in the physical form so always remember that.

Stonks are a little harder to do this as there is much moar participation and MUCH cheaper-see below on size of COMEX silver contract. What you want to see now is another run over that 200 day moving average and having it done in a decisive way back upwards on strong volume. What I've witnessed is that most trades get three times to breakout over any moving average and if they fail on the third time it is basically lights out and it heads back down. As it stands today the 200 DMA on it is $24.35 and the last trade on the Hong Kong Market is $24.28 so it is just below that. You can tell a big fight is going on with the On-Balance Volume or OBV (lime green arrow) as the number of contracts needed to control the price is increasing. Now the real BS here is that these contracts are nothing more than a right or promissory note to 'control' 5000oz of silver-based on the last price of $24.38 1 contract will cost you $121,400 plus any commissions so it is not cheap to play here. There is an option to have physical delivered for your purchased contracts (that is called Standing for Delivery) it is rarely ever done as if a big enough amount of contract holders actually did this it would break the COMEX-they know this. This was tried in the last big run up in Ag price where too many tried to hold contracts to force the COMEX to deliver the Physical (they don't and never have had it). As the price kept rising the margin requirements for holding large positions kept being raised (sometimes by as much as 25%) forcing those contract holders to pony up cash to continue to hold positions they had already paid for (using margin debt)....very BAD idea but they do it.

With the price of oil pushing above $100 per barrel, the U.S. Stock market opening with heavy losses,

more global economic challenges looming, the real potential for significant loss of life, and the

international community in complete disarray with feeble attempts to condemn what was totally

avoidable, we face the onset of another very grave and historic period of tension between competing

ideologies and worse, the onset of WWIII.

This “invasion” was totally avoidable.

As one friend stated, President Biden and his failed foreign policy team set the table and sent the

invitation and President Putin came and spoiled the dinner party.

Clearly, there are fault lines on both sides, but for now, we must pray that those affected without an

ability to decide their fate, are able to survive this extraordinary period of world history unfolding (for

many unraveling) on the world stage. Civilians and military forces will be killed, wounded, and

displaced; those are the real consequences of war. Pray that this conventional war is limited in scope,

purpose, and intent.

Yes, there were gross violations of previous agreements due to incompetence, arrogance and ignorance

that got us to this point. Beyond this, what happens next is anyone’s guess but Putin (and Xi—Taiwan?)

just laid down a new world order marker.

That said, it is doubtful that our U.S. Administration will change its failed foreign policy and instead,

they will make weak attempts to triple down on leveraging this extremely serious situation in Europe

to continue to distract from problems here at home.

Starting with shutting down the Keystone pipeline and America's energy independence while and

enabling Russia and Germany (read Europe) to reopen the Nordstream pipeline, one has to wonder

about the discussions in the Oval office that came to these conclusions.

Describing America as a systemically racist nation, the appointment of Marxists and other radical

ideologues to positions of power, allowing millions to surge across our southern border, attempts to

federalize and take over our election systems and processes, implementing racist CRT in our schools,

our military and across our government, all along, raising the national debt closing in on $30 Trillion

dollars, spending us toward extinction, all for left-wing causes.

Let us not forget the Afghanistan disaster, the myriad lies about COVID, a certain Biden owned laptop,

and a fraudulent presidential election that has massive amounts of evidence coming out daily...all

while China gets a pass.

It is extremely difficult to trust this administration as they lie with a straight face to the American

people daily.

Anyone who questions these rotten foreign and domestic policies are called racist and demonized. We

see the unleashing of the federal government on citizens who are simply exercising their

constitutional rights and the media covers all this incompetence with a fake smile due to their own

deep levels of corruption

Our president rarely entertains questions or takes responsibility for his tone deafness and failures. The

WH ignored and laughed at Putin's legitimate security concerns, and legitimate ethnic problems in the

Ukraine.

We have yet to hear from the President of the United States an explanation of U.S. national security

interests, instead we continue to demonize Russia, similar to the fake Russia collusion hysteria we all

now know was perpetrated against the Trump Administration by elements of the Clinton campaign

and the Obama administration.

President Putin calculated this strategic, historic, and geographic play and made the decision to move,

and he did. All that stated above, there will never be justification for this invasion or any other form

of invasion. However, never forget that war results when diplomacy fails.

May God watch over and protect those in harm’s way and may God continue to bless and protect the

United States of America.

There were some who could do this but many could not so it produced an artificial liquidation of contracts-exactly what the system desired. The ones who could still remain in the game were offered cash payments to stand down-this is against the CFTC's own rules but that is another story. We'll see a ton of movement in the price of both %-wise but more so in Ag as it gets hits much moar so what has reversed to the upside is the Silver/Gold ratio-that is how many oz of silver you get for 1 oz of gold-it has been insane (in a good way if you believe that silver will eventually be priced based on is use as an industrial metal and real value as a storage of wealth) for a long time. It is now at 78.64 and has gotten as high as 128 in early 2020.

Typically you see the most action when the NYMEX opens but lately they have had London do the work of dropping millions of ozs-represented by 100's of contracts of created out-of-thin air on it. As I have stated before-NO ONE sells this way unless the intention is to suppress the price-that goes for all financial products not just this. Watch for the drops to occur closer to Tueday(s) as that is the weekly settlement day that is used until the next Tuesday...it is a lather,rinse repeat event.

Russia's military buildup on the borders of Ukraine and its sweeping ultimatums to NATO on halting further expansion and rolling back its engagement on NATO's eastern flank is also causing tension in northern Europe. Russia has threatened that if Finland and Sweden which are not members of NATO but enjoy close ties with the transatlantic organization join the alliance, it "would have serious military and political consequences that would require an adequate response from the Russian side."

In response to the mounting tension with Russia, Sweden has been boosting its military preparedness and has sent soldiers and heavy military equipment to its largest island, Gotland, strategically located in the Baltic Sea, just 330 kilometers from Kaliningrad, the headquarters of Russia's Baltic Fleet. Swedish troops are now patrolling the streets of Visby, including its harbor and airport. Sweden has been observing a deteriorating security environment in recent years with repeated Russian incursions into Swedish airspace and territorial waters.

Most recently, Sweden has been experiencing an influx of large military-style drones hovering over its nuclear and power plants, royal castles and military areas. According to the Swedish Security Service (Säpo), the drones were suspected of "grave unauthorised dealing with secret information." Drones have also been observed around the parliament and government buildings, as well as the royal palace in Stockholm, and near the Kiruna and Luleå airports in the north of the country. On January 30, authorities arrested a Russian man who was flying a drone near one of the Swedish royal family's castles. The man claimed he was a tourist.

In 2019, Sweden, after realizing that it lacked crucial military capabilities and would be unable to defend itself against a Russian offensive, decided to increase its military spending by around 40%, with an increase in the military budget of 27.5 billion Swedish crowns ($3.10 billion) by 2025.

"Nothing can be ruled out in this situation. It may end in a total invasion with the risks of invading one of Europe's largest countries, but I think it is out of the question that nothing will happen," head of the Swedish Defence Forces, Micael Bydén, said. "The only question is what happens."

Lieutenant General Michael Claesson, Chief of Joint Operations of the Swedish Army, told Reuters that the army had recently noted an expansion of foreign offensive capability near Sweden. "... Russian landing ships are an example of such offensive capability," Claesson said. "They have passed through (Denmark's) Great Belt strait and continued into the Baltic Sea."

Unlike Sweden, Finland, which shares a long land border with Russia, never stopped investing in its defense capabilities. It recently ordered 64 F-35 fighters, at a value of $9.5 billion, to replace its existing and ageing combat jets. According to Finland's former Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, Finland "can mobilize a reserve of 280,000 trained soldiers, which no other country in Europe can do."

Finland has made it very clear that it reserves the option to join NATO. Finnish President Sauli Niinisto reacted forcefully to Russia's threats by saying:

"Finland's room to maneuver and freedom of choice also include the possibility of military alignment and of applying for NATO membership should we ourselves so decide."

Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin shares Niinisto's sentiment, but has also said that she does not foresee a NATO application from Finland during her term, which ends in April 2023.

Russia, ironically, could end up pushing both Finland and Sweden towards NATO membership in the longer term. The Russian threats are forcing the countries to rethink their neutrality and spurring new debates about membership. One Finnish MP said that the country was now "closer than it has ever been" to applying for NATO membership and, for the first time, opposition to NATO membership has dropped to a record low. More than a quarter of Finns (28%) are now for NATO membership with 42% against, according to a recent survey, and the share of those who are uncertain at 30%. In the past, opposition to membership of NATO has been as high as 68% among Finns. Respondents were also asked on their position if Sweden were to join NATO, which caused respondents in favor of membership to rise to 38% and opposition to fall to 39%.

"We have been forming ever-closer cooperation agreements not only with NATO, but also the United Kingdom and the United States," said Elina Valtonen, vice-chair of Finland's opposition National Coalition Party, adding that joining NATO was "a natural step."

In Sweden, opposition to joining NATO is also at an all-time low, with 37% of respondents in favor of NATO membership and 35% against, according to a recent survey. In 2017, by contrast, 32% said yes to NATO, while 43% opposed it. Furthermore, Sweden, until now, has not had a NATO "option" as part of its declared foreign policy, but there is now a majority of parties in the Swedish parliament that want, as part of Sweden's foreign policy, to declare a "NATO option", similar to that of Finland. It is a marked departure from the past, when neutrality was paramount.

Not only are Sweden and Finland perceiving Russia to be the biggest threat in northern Europe. The Danish Defense Intelligence Service, in its most recent security assessment, concluded that Russia is one of the biggest threats to Denmark's security, especially Russian offensive intelligence operations and cyber espionage activities. Denmark, unlike Sweden and Finland, is a member of NATO.

"Russia is very concerned about Denmark by virtue of our geographical location and our membership in NATO. It is clear that the situation in the Baltic Sea, where there is a high level of military exercises, of course, raises concerns," said intelligence chief Anja Dalgaard-Nielsen. Brooksley Born, Derivatives, and Larry Summers

It's interesting what you run across when you're reading. Brooksley Born was an early hero in the attempt to warn the United States about the financial dangers of unregulated 'derivatives.' Here is information about her. Born was appointed to the CFTC (Commodities Futures Trading Commission) on April 15, 1994 by President Bill Clinton. Due to litigation against a company called Bankers Trust (hello former employee Jerome Powell-who was instrumental in transferring the Banker's Trust shitpile to Deutsche Bank..THAT is why he is the FRB Chairman nao) by major corporate clients, Born and her team at the CFTC sought comments on the regulation of derivatives, a first step in the process of writing comprehensive regulations. Born was particularly concerned about swaps, financial instruments that are traded over the counter between banks, insurance companies or other funds or companies, and thus have no transparency except to the two counterparties and the counterparties' regulators, if any. CFTC regulation was strenuously opposed by Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan, Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers. On May 7, 1998, former SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt joined Rubin and Greenspan in objecting to the issuance of the CFTC’s concept release. Their response dismissed Born's concerns off-hand and focused on the possibility that CFTC regulation of swaps and other OTC derivative instruments would increase legal uncertainty of such instruments, potentially creating turmoil in the markets, and reducing the value of the instruments. Further concerns voiced were that the imposition of new regulatory costs would stifle innovation and push transactions offshore.

An economic and financial crisis affected US and world markets in 2008. As it gained momentum, newspapers began reporting on some of its possible causes, including the rejection of the CFTC's proposals and the adversarial relationship Greenspan, Rubin and Levitt had with Born. The disagreement has been described not only as a classic Washington turf war, but also as a war of ideologies as Greenspan and highly placed Clinton administration officials believed that, in large measure, the capital markets could be trusted to regulate themselves. Born declined to publicly comment on the unfolding 2008 crisis until March 2009 when she said: "The market grew so enormously, with so little oversight and regulation, that it made the financial crisis much deeper and more pervasive than it otherwise would have been." She also lamented the influence of Wall Street lobbyists on the process and the refusal of regulators to discuss even modest reforms. An October 2009 Frontline documentary titled "The Warning" described Born's failed efforts to control regulation of and bring transparency to the derivatives market, and noted the continuing resistance thereto. The program concluded with Born sounding another warning: "I think we will have continuing danger from these markets and that we will have repeats of the financial crisis -- may differ in details but there will be significant financial downturns and disasters attributed to this regulatory gap, over and over, until we learn from experience."

In 2009 Born, along with Sheila Bair of the FDIC, was awarded the John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage Award in recognition of the "political courage she demonstrated in sounding early warnings about conditions that contributed to the current global financial crisis". According to Caroline Kennedy, "...Brooksley Born recognized that the financial security of all Americans was being put at risk by the greed, negligence and opposition of powerful and well connected interests... The catastrophic financial events of recent months have proved them right. Although their warnings were ignored at the time, the American people should be reassured that there are far-sighted public servants at all levels of government who act on principle to protect the people’s interests."

So why is this important?

You may remember the rise in Ag/Au prices after the 2008 "crisis"-it actually got slammed down to just under $10 in 2009 then they started the rise to almost $50. They did this so JP Morgan could close out it's inherited (ala Bear Stearns B'ruptcy-totally manufactured btw) short position and go long on contracts and to buy physical SIlver. That huge short position that Bank of America has is because JP Morgan amassed a huge amount of physical during this process and went long on contracts (paper) at the same time. BofA leased physical from JP Morgans huge stockpile of physical silver that they got in the run up and run down on Ag-moar on when that advance was turned around with a very famous 'incident' below.

Enter in William Daley (yes THAT Chicago Daley family) who was named as Husseins' Chief of Staff in January 2011 and he was the hatchet man for what came next. He was brought in to manage the Silver problem as he also worked on the "hit squad" at JP Morgan managing the derivative and commodity manipulation (along with serial bitch Blythe Masters)-he has since tried to be Gov. of Illinois and then went to Bank of NY Mellon (yes that Mellon family) as Vice-Chairman for 4 months in 2019 and then went to current job as Vice Chairman of Public Affairs for Wells Fargo.

William Daley was only the Chief of Staff for one reason only to manage the silver legacy problem because he was there for one year and this is why....

The SIlver issue was getting out of hand (for them) so it was decided that JP Morgan needed to amass a huge physical position to offset what they inherited from the Bear Stearns bankruptcy (member it was originally going to be 'bought' for $2 a share and then raised to $10-someone famously taped a $2 dollar bill to the front door of Bear Stearns headquarters) and they also were aware of what the real value of silver was and that it could never be allowed to appreciate to that level so let's go to May 2011-specifically May 2, 2011 when Usama Bin Laden was "killed". They used that event to drop millions of ozs of paper silver on the COMEX as it was intentionally driven towards $50/oz-they were also laying on HUGE short postions on that rise. This habbened TO THE SECOND (see cap # that UBL was announced to have been killed because you needed an event to keep the eyes off that. It was also on a Sunday afternoon in a thinly traded market so it had a MASSIVE effect of killing any advance above the $49.5x level it was at-again intentionally driven there to lay on massive short positions to profit from what they had already planned to announce. Nevermid that USL (nee Tim Osman C_A stooge) died of renal failure in early 2002 or late 2001-depends on which source you believe.

The retail trade of physical had also got out of hand as during the crisis (2008) and before people were waking up to the FIAT money problem and needed to find a storage of wealth-they started to go to physical silver. This was why JP Morgan needed to shake that tree to get that supply out of the hands (and into own) so the entire scheme of let's run it up and then slam it was done.

Now we have the same dynamic today but the price is being contained by the massive shitpile of derivatives (described above) but there are WAY moar people aware of this so I am looking for yet another event to occur to slam the price back down to repeat this same action. The problem now is that BofA is fucked with it's lease so they can't really run it to $50 unless they want to blow up that part of it. Yes they can just ignore the consequences of losing what amounts to about $1B on each rise in silver of $1-because the position is so huge that is what it equates to...on paper. The system did not get it's smackdown earlier this week in order to set the weekly price (that habbens on Tuesdays at 1:30pm EST every week) so they waited until yesterday to restart that process and it will continue until they get accomplished what they expected to do earlier this week. Namely smash the price down so they can try and extricate themselves from this short position. But they have a huge problem (already described before) this is a Physical short position that they have to deliver and they don't have it...it is leased from JP Morgan so they will need to find a big amount to settle this or find a willing partner to continue to roll this over. This part cannot be accomplished with COMEX contracts but they CAN still manipulate the price that way. The lower it goes the harder it will be for you (real people) to get hands on physical because the system is sucking up all the sales so it can "deliver" on this massive short position.

Go to any local coin shop and see the complete lack of supply or better yet witness the HUGE premiums on whatever the big dealers have "in stock" or what they are charging for 'on order' supply. You are effectively paying for the big dealers hedge cause they don't have it so they need a cushion in case it blows up. Smaller dealers will try to hedge on Fridays if they want to continue to take orders when the market is closed by using contracts on COMEX-it is very risky and it would not surprise me if we see many smaller dealers just shut down altogether because they can't afford the risk-or stop taking orders during closed session(s).

This is the bank KILLER because they made the decision long ago to use Silver as the industrial metal and once that was done there was no changing it. The short position has been going on for decades and will not stop until the criminal organization known as the CFTC is closed down and many firing squads are used-yes they DO deserve that.

There was an "investigation" into all this years ago but that was shut down by Gary Gensler-who is now the current SEC chairman

New SEC short sale rules would force investors to submit updates each month

The Securities and Exchange Commission said Friday that it’s considering a new rule and changes to existing regulations that would force short sellers to make more frequent disclosures about their bets.

Wall Street’s top supervisor said the proposed changes would require institutional investors to collect and submit certain short sale data to the SEC each month. The commission would then make aggregate data about large short positions, including daily short sale activity, available to the public for each security.

When short selling, a trader who wants to bet against a company borrows shares of its stock and then sells them on the market. The trader will in theory buy those shares back at a lower price later and return them to the brokerage or asset manager that lent them the equity. Asset managers lend those shares to short sellers in exchange for regular fees.

However they rarely mention the fact that this is not done within the rules and a massive amount of short positions are 'created' see naked short selling

“I am pleased to support this proposal because, if adopted, it would strengthen transparency of an important area of our markets that would benefit from greater visibility and oversight,” SEC Chairman Gary Gensler said in a press release.

The proposed changes to Regulation SHO, a collection of SEC rules on short selling, would keep the identities of managers and individual short positions confidential.

Gensler noted in his remarks that the new rulemaking would apply to institutional managers who hold a short position of at least $10 million or the equivalent of 2.5% or more of the total shares outstanding. “It’s important for the public and the Commission to know more about this important market, especially in times of stress or volatility,” he added. “The proposed rule would help the Commission address future market events, striking a balance between the need for transparency and the price discovery process.”

The newly proposed rules are the latest attempt by the SEC to magnify its oversight of the practice, which has been blamed by lawmakers in recent years for causing wild and dangerous price swings on Wall Street. The practice came under scrutiny in early 2021 when individual investors banded together on social media to juice stocks like GameStop that had garnered heavy interest from short sellers.

Late last year, the SEC proposed a rule that would require brokerages and asset managers that lend securities to short sellers to report data on each loan to an oversight body like the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority within 15 minutes of making the loan. The SEC said it is extending the public comment period on that rule in light of its latest rule change proposals.

You own real hard assets if you purchase physical. You own pieces of paper that promise you can have it later. This is the fallacy that the system has created to make you get muh feels that you are protected from any systemic problems the system has. Understand that these products that are in retirement account(s), brokerage accounts, managed money accts etc. They are nothing moar then a promise to get in a very LONG line should you actually need this protection. The contracts that trade on the COMEX are also this way. You are buying a paper delivery promise to own the metal(s) that is not backed by anything but it's input price and that is taken from the spot price-. These are ok if you want to capture movements with the daily prices. They are NOT going to give you anything physical when it all goes tits up.

Exchange Traded Funds or ETF's are a vehicle to capture any given movement of an asset class. These grew like weeds starting in 2006. They are hundreds of them that "track" market index(s), commodity's, bonds, currency-anything that is offered for trade. Now in the case of metals ETF's the major ones are: GLD (SPDR Gold Trust), IAU (ishares Gold Trust) for Gold and SLV (ishares Silver Trust) and SIVR (Aberdeen Standard Physical Silver Shares) for Silver- There are several moar in each and also have products that use leverage against the spot prices (2-3x of movement up and down) but those are the big ones based on the total amount of 'assets' placed in both. They key point of this is what you own. You own NOTHNG…all you own is a piece of paper that SAYS you can stand for delivery at an agreed upon call date. The price for these products are derived from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange or COMEX and use the spot prices you see displayed on any ticker that tracks that pricing input. Kitco is but one. In the case of iShares these are owned by Blackrock and they are the custodian of the metal that are supposed to be in these things. They do not have it. Larry Fink is the CEO of Blackrock and Cheryl Mills sits on the BoD as well. What they do is create fake reports that basically say "we have moved this amount in or out of the trust" to reflect the movement of daily prices. See Cap #3 for the process of how they report it habbens…it is COMPLETE FABRICATION

It's nothing moar then a way to make it seem they are moving real metal around and satisfying the duties they have as custodians. If they truly did this in the way it is reported you would see real physical evidence of it being moved around-like a few trucks here and there…you don't. Recall the 911 event when the gold was taken out of the WTC complex afterwards. They had all these trucks lined up to "clean it up" what they really did was loot the gold that was stored in the complex. Think about it- if you did not know that was going to habben how could you amass a small army of trucks and put it on stand-by waiting to "clean it all up"? This goes back to Barrick gold and a few other mining companies too-not enough space to get in to that.

Here’s my take on what’s happening in Ukraine/Russia. I’m just spitballing here. Like everybody else I have more questions than I do answers but I think this plays into Devolution.

First think about what Ukraine is – It’s the epicenter of corruption for the political establishment. Victor Pinchuk, George Soros, Ihor Kolomoisky… All funding “deep state” agendas worldwide, all based out of Ukraine. We know their ties to the Clinton foundation and liberal politics in America.

If Trump was going to truly drain the swamp, he would have to tackle the corruption in Ukraine. The oligarchs have funded their own militaries in previous color revolutions. Trump wouldn’t be able to take them down without a fight. So if Trump is going to clean up Ukraine he would likely need boots on the ground to do it.

Enter Putin.

It’s no secret that Putin hates Soros as he banned him from Russia long ago, and it’s also no secret that Putin despised the “deep state” tactics of implementing color revolutions to overthrow pro-Russian leaders and install ones that would play ball with the “deep state”. It’s speculated by many that Putin could be working with Trump in the fight against the “deep state” and it’s hard to argue with. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

So think of the brilliance that might be taking place right now.

Boots on the ground were likely necessary to fully remove the problem in Ukraine, but Trump couldn’t invade Ukraine with US troops. Somebody else would have to do it. However, if somebody like Putin were to do it while Trump was president, it would make Trump look weak and the media would have a field day.

What better time to clean up the mess in Ukraine than with Biden in office? Kills two birds with one invasion. You make the Biden administration and the MSM look like fools, while taking on the “deep state” in one of the most corrupt countries on the planet.

Putin is simultaneously helping Trump to serve up red-pills while fixing a problem that actually benefits the USA and the rest of the world – the denazification of Ukraine.

We won’t have any definitive answers until this blows over but make sure you guys are using the 24 – hour rule with news reports coming out about this stuff.

Berkshire Hathaway’s operating profits surged in the fourth quarter and for the full year as the conglomerate’s businesses continued to roar back to life from the pandemic economic slowdown. Chairman Warren Buffett increased his bet on that comeback, buying back a record amount of Berkshire shares in 2021.

The company’s operating earnings — which encompass profits made from the myriad of businesses owned by the conglomerate like insurance, railroads and utilities — totaled $7.285 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to a company release posted Saturday. That’s up roughly 45% from the year-earlier period’s profit of $5.021 billion. For the year, Berkshire’s operating earnings totaled $27.455 billion. That’s up 25.2% from 2020′s $21.992 billion. Berkshire used $6.9 billion to buy back shares in the fourth quarter, bringing the total in share repurchases to approximately $27 billion for 2021. That’s a record amount and up from the $24.7 billion repurchased as the pandemic raged in 2020. However, the fourth-quarter buyback pace was a bit slower than the $7.6 billion repurchased in the third quarter. Despite these aggressive buybacks, Berkshire’s cash hoard at the end of 2021 stood at about $146.72 billion. That’s down only slightly from a record $149.2 billion at the end of the third quarter. Buffett explained in his accompanying annual shareholder letter that he and Vice Chairman Charlie Munger found little that “excites” them in terms of big acquisitions that was once their hallmark. Instead, the pair increasingly finds share repurchases as the best way to deploy cash at this time. “Through that simple act, we increase your share of the many controlled and non-controlled businesses Berkshire owns,” Buffett wrote in the letter. “When the price/value equation is right, this path is the easiest and most certain way for us to increase your wealth.”

Overall earnings, which reflect Berkshire’s fluctuating equity investments, came in at $39.646 billion for the quarter. That’s up about 10% from the year-earlier period of $35.835 billion. However, Berkshire tends to downplay the importance quarterly changes in the company’s investment gains or losses. “The amount of investment gains/losses in any given quarter is usually meaningless and delivers figures for net earnings per share that can be extremely misleading to investors who have little or no knowledge of accounting rules,” Berkshire said.

Earnings from Berkshire’s railroad, utilities and energy business jumped 12.3% to $2.241 billion from $1.995 billion a year earlier. Meanwhile, Berkshire’s insurance-underwriting business earned $372 million after losing $299 million in the fourth quarter of 2020. The earnings report came as Berkshire’s B shares broke out to a record high this year, up nearly 7%. Full-year overall earnings came in at $89.795 billion, more than double 2020′s total of $42.521 billion.

SAN DIEGO—Authorities seized nearly $3 million worth of methamphetamine, hidden among a shipment of onions, during a tractor-trailer’s inspection at federal facility in San Diego, officials announced Friday.

A K-9 unit for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted to the trailer’s shipment of onions on Sunday and officers found nearly 1,200 small packages of meth, the agency said Friday in a news release. The 46-year-old driver, a Mexican national who was not named, was arrested for the alleged narcotic smuggling attempt at the Otay Mesa port-of-entry commercial vehicle facility, officials said.

The packages of meth—more than 1,336 pounds (606 kilograms)—were shaped into small globes with a white covering, the agency said, and meant to blend into the onions. The drugs are estimated to be worth $2.9 million on the street.

“This was not only a clever attempt to try and smuggle in narcotics, one I haven’t seen before, but also time consuming to wrap narcotics into these small packages, designed to look like onions,” said Sidney Aki, CBP Director of Field Operations in San Diego, in the news release. “While we have certainly seen narcotics in produce before, it’s unusual for us to see this level of detail in the concealment.”

A California businessman who is on trial for conspiring to illegally donate over $3 million to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign is blaming Donald Trump for his actions.

Rani El-Saadi’s lawyer, Megan Church, is arguing her client broke the law out of fear of the “Muslim travel ban.”

“He believed that his contribution to Hillary Clinton’s campaign would save his business,” Church said, according to a report from Politico. “His company catered to clients who were travelers from Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East—the same people Mr. Trump intended to ban from the U.S.A. A Trump presidency posed a fatal threat to Mr. El-Saadi’s business. That’s why he donated.”

However, according to the report, “as the trial for El-Saadi and a co-defendant opened in federal court in Washington on Thursday, a prosecutor offered an equally simple explanation for the $150,000 El-Saadi personally ponied up to attend a Clinton fundraiser in Las Vegas in October 2016: Another, much wealthier man — digital payments magnate Andy Khawaja — secretly gave El-Saadi the money.”

“This is a case about a large-scale conspiracy to funnel well in excess of $1 million into the U.S. political system — money that came from the United Arab Emirates,” prosecutor Michelle Parikh told jurors.

Parikh has made an even more shocking claim in court — the money actually originated from the UAE government.

The scheme was allegedly cooked up by multi-billionaire Allied Wallet founder Khawaja.

“Khawaja wanted very badly to gain power and influence in the U.S.,” Parikh said.

Five other men charged in the case have pleaded guilty and cooperated with the prosecution.

Swift payments crackdown on Russia edges closer

Moves to shut Russia out of the main global bank payments system have gained ground after Germany's government softened its stance. Countries including the UK have lobbied for Russia to be blocked from the Swift system, which makes it possible to move money across frontiers.

Now Germany, which opposed the move, has said it favours "targeted and functional" restrictions. The economy and foreign ministers said they wanted to hit "the right people".

The change of heart opens the way to further economic sanctions against Russia in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine. Until now, Germany had argued that simply ejecting Russia from Swift would damage Western economies massively and bring widespread suffering to ordinary Russian people, rather than the government.

CNN has reportedly zeroed in on the replacement for former President Jeff Zucker, and it will be Chris Licht, sources told Puck News’ Dylan Byers.

Byers’ sources have close ties to Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, according to his report.

“I can now report, based on conversations with sources who have spoken directly with Zaslav, that Licht is indeed the person who Zaslav has selected to run CNN,” Byers wrote.

“Licht will run CNN as head of news for Warner Bros. Discovery, a source familiar with the matter said. Unlike Zucker, his purview will not extend to sports. Licht has a deal with CBS that expires in April, according to people familiar with the matter, but his hiring is likely to be announced at, or ahead of, a special Discovery shareholders meeting on March 11.”

Gazprom Financial Director found dead, allegedly by suicide

The circumstances of the death of the Deputy General Director of the Unified Settlement Center of Gazprom for Corporate Security, whose body was found in the prestigious village of Leninskoye in the Vyborg District of the Leningrad Region, are being established. A note was found nearby, law enforcement officials told 47news. A month earlier, the body of a top manager of another division from Gazprom's orbit was found in the same village. Both of the now deceased previously worked at Gazprom Transgaz.

As it became known to 47news, in the early morning of February 25, the police received a message about the death of a man on Rubinovaya Street in an elite cottage village in Leninsky.

The officers who arrived at the scene found the deceased in a noose in the annex garage, a note lay nearby. The deceased was identified as 61-year-old Alexander Tyulakov, Deputy General Director of the Unified Settlement Center (UCC) of Gazprom for corporate security. This division performs the functions of the treasury of the entire monopoly.

Prior to his appointment to the ERC, Alexander Tyuliakov, since March 2014, worked as Deputy General Director for Corporate Security and Human Resources at Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg, a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom, which was engaged in the export and transportation of fuel to nine regions of Russia.

The circumstances of the incident are established by the Investigative Committee of the Leningrad Region.

Gazprom ERC at the time of publication could not comment on the incident.

Recall that a month earlier, a 60-year-old head of the transport service of Gazprom Invest, Leonid Shulman, was found dead in a mansion on Zhemchuzhnaya Street in the same village of Leninskoye . A retractable construction knife was found on the side of the bath. A note was also found. Shulman also previously worked for Gazprom Transgaz.

47news said that many of the top managers of the gas monopoly live in the village of Leninskoye. Because of the accumulation of famous names, it is called "Gazprom's nest" .

Bizarre Knife Accident In California Causes Six-Car Crash

A man driving in Rancho Bernardo in San Diego on Sunday morning (February 20) died after he hit a parked car and stabbed himself, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Police and wire reports revealed the bizarre fatal accident then caused a chain-reaction crash involving another five cars.

The accident occurred at 5:24 a.m. on Sunday when a 28-year-old man driving a 2000 Lexus on Rancho Bernardo Road veered to the right for unknown reasons and crashed into a parked vehicle. The impact deployed the car's airbag and the man was possibly using a knife while driving.

According to OnScene TV, San Diego Fire officials who responded to the scene found a heavy amount of blood inside the car, a knife, and protein powder sprinkled throughout the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital where a stab wound was found in his neck. He died later that day, according to San Diego Police.

Officials believe the man may have been using the knife to mix protein powder into a container of water when he became distracted and crashed. When the car's airbag deployed, it may have forced the knife into the man's neck.

According to the Union-Tribune, there were no reports of other injuries in the five other cars that were damaged in the chain-reaction crash.

The United States is providing Ukraine with $350 million in additional military equipment to fight off Russia's "brutal and unprovoked assault," Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Saturday. "This package will include further lethal defensive assistance to help Ukraine address the armored, airborne, and other threats it is now facing," Blinken said in a statement. Blinken said that last fall as Russia started amassing troops on the border with its pro-Western neighbor, President Joe Biden authorized $60 million in immediate military assistance to Ukraine, then another $200 million in December as President Vladimir Putin's threat became more acute.
