in this way the advance announcement for class can contain the actual class thread
when class time nears, at your discretion I'll unlock it
I've placed a bit of a target on this next class, I've stated that I'll keep it well policed, since there is now a dedicated meta for bakers there is no reason to allow any more shenanigans or mayhem in the classroom if you don't want it there
I have my personal line on what I'll allow and what I won't, but I am seriously interested in your view on tolerable vs intolerable posting in the classroom thread

u didn't place a target, it's been targeted for some time now. always watching, here and in /qr/. shills started with anti-baking class meme in /qr/ in early March, and now it gets mentioned along with "bakers union" stuff. Class success is what put a target on - as in "over the target." Shill hate well-staffed kitchen.

there have been 3 major pushes to do overhaul on the /qr/ dough: from endchan, from this guy 274287, and now from OSS, who is now suspicious of about half the bakers. All within the last week. That's a lot of activity in a very short time. Continuing to watch.

That's a great idea. Been me for a while coz i'm always working on the dough. Now as BV, should I be able to lock/unlock the thread myself? If so, i could do it (fine if you wanna do it, just thought it would be easier).

my suggestion would be to bake early & lock it
announce in general early with actual class link and start time
during class
you are released from my admonition not to delete anything here, the classroom is yours.
IF you feel it necessary do so, but I personally like leaving the post as example
you can use the edit function to warn and ban those who need it for a few minutes to a few hours as you see fit
when you are logged in you'll be able to 'mouse over' the functions and they'll 'pop up' the label

I was thinking the numbers I messed were 113 but I could be wrong, it doesn't mater, changing numbers is common for me, we all know it but I don't change notables, changing number for anyone is not changing notables, that is all I can attest to
I vehemently oppose changing notables once baked, even my own, it's like historical revision, I don't do it, that said, I fixed a couple of misspellings along the way but let the screamer know I wasn't happy about it, drew a line in the sand, bakers can fix anything whack in the dough but not change notables, we all know that

Already have a very thick skin. some bakers know from last year. But had to get to the bottom and state the truth for the record. Initially could barely remember this situation (and got some of the details wrong). Many breads ago. Had to dig up answers, so i can answer any legit q's accurately.

Really appreciate all you've done in making the meta thread etc to support. That should really help.
For policing, i'm all for freedom of speech and letting it all flow. muffins can easily be ignored as we usually do. Unsure that banning or deleting posts is of any benefit and can make things worse. I'm good to just let it be and we can see how tomorrows class is, however it's your place, I respect and trust you and if you want to deal with it how you think is best that's great and we can see how it goes that way. Easy.

I don't think there will be any deletions, a few short term bans… a few edits… who knows…
you never know… it all might be bait to see if certain parties over react in a pre-emptive fashion
it's hard to tell the sincere anons from the "eccentric" ones from the truly subversive
the disruptions, diversions and division that result from the activities of a few…
sad really when you think about it
