Biden Pledges $60 Million in Military Aid to Ukraine

The Biden administration has pledged to provide Ukraine with an additional $60 million in military aid ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s first face-to-face meeting with Biden, which is scheduled for Wednesday.

The weapons package includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, small arms, ammunition, and first aid kits. Earlier this year, the Pentagon approved a $125 million aid package for Ukraine that included two armed Mark VI patrol boats.

Congress approved a total of $275 million in lethal aid for Ukraine for the 2021 fiscal year, so more packages could be approved this year. Since the US-backed coup in Ukraine in 2014, the US has provided Kyiv with over $2 billion in military aid, stoking tensions with Moscow.

In a notification on the new $60 million aid package, the Biden administration said it was necessary due to “Russia’s buildup along the Ukrainian border.” Russia’s military movements in the region are in part due to the increase in US and NATO naval activity in the Black Sea, but to Washington, Russia is always viewed as the “aggressor.”

Tensions were high in the region earlier in the year due to a flare-up of violence in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region, a war that was sparked by the 2014 coup, in which some members of the Biden administration played an integral role.

5 Missing After Navy Helicopter Crashes Off California

SAN DIEGO — Five people were missing after a U.S. Navy helicopter crashed Tuesday in the ocean off Southern California during a routine flight from an aircraft carrier, military officials said.

A search and rescue operation was launched after the MH-60S helicopter crashed around 4:30 p.m. about 60 nautical miles off San Diego, the Navy's U.S. Pacific Fleet said in an initial statement.

Officials later said that one crewmember had been rescued and “search efforts continue for five additional crewmembers.”

The crash happened while the aircraft was “conducting routine flight operations,” according to the Navy. It had been aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

“Search and rescue operations are ongoing with multiple Coast Guard and Navy air and surface assets,” the tweet said.

No other details were immediately available.

The MH-60S is a versatile aircraft that typically carries a crew of about four and is used in missions including combat support, humanitarian disaster relief and search and rescue.

On September 1, Iranian sources shared photos showing at least ten US-made Humvee armored vehicles being transported on the Semnan-Garmsar highway in northern Iran.

The armored vehicles, which bear the markings of the now-defunct Afghan government forces, were loaded on the back of trucks with Iranian military license plates. The convoy reportedly took off from the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.

Some observers speculated that the Humvees were taken from Afghan troops who fled from western Afghanistan to Iran in order to avoid being captured by the Taliban between July and August.

Nevertheless, the Iranian “Military Articles” channel on Telegram, which was among the first to share photos of the Humvees, claimed that they were “bought” from the Taliban.

These armored vehicles will likely enter service with the Iranian Armed Forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or be sent to Tehran’s allies in the Middle East.

While taking over Afghanistan in the last few months, Taliban fighters seized billions-worth of military equipment, including hundreds of Humvees, which were supplied by the US to Afghan government forces.

According to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, the US supplied a total of 1,178 Humvee armored vehicles to Afghan government forces with a cost of $275,580,902 between April of 2020 and July of 2021 only.

Most of the equipment supplied by the US to Afghan government forces fell into the hands of the Taliban, the de-facto rulers of Afghanistan. The remaining equipment ended up in a way or another in Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, mainly Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran, or with the Afghan resistance in the Panjshir Valley.

US forces and their Afghan proxies sabotaged or destroys loads of military equipment, including aircraft, in Kabul airport before completing their withdrawal on August 30.

Soros-Backed Lawyer Kills Virginia Parents' Recall Effort

A Virginia attorney backed by left-wing billionaire George Soros on Friday killed off an effort to recall a Democratic school board member who opposed reopening schools last year, according to a report in the Washington Free Beacon.

The Open Fair County Public Schools Coalition, a parents group, earlier this year met the signature requirements to recall Fairfax County school board member Elaine Tholen, saying she neglected her duties as an elected official by refusing to reopen schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

James Hingeley, a lawyer in Virginia with ties to the Soros-funded Justice and Safety PAC and to Tholen (the target of the action he was brought on to defend), dismissed the action in a court filing Friday.

Hingeley, who serves as Albemarle County commonwealth's attorney, was assigned to argue the case by Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano, who recused himself from the proceedings. Fox News reported that Descano had received $600,000 from the Soros organization. Descano was also paid thousands of dollars by Tholen, the target of the recall effort, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.

While Descano recused himself from defending the recall, Hingeley did not. The Beacon reported that Hingeley had actually campaigned alongside Tholen in 2019. Hingeley also received $5,000 from the same Soros-funded PAC as Descano, according to Fox News.

Descano is battling a recall effort of his own.

Tholen filed a motion to dismiss last week the action with Fairfax County Circuit Judge Richard Gardiner. He denied the motion, ruling that a trial would determine the veracity of the coalition's allegations.

Rather than argue the coalition's case, Hingeley sought to have it dismissed. He said he had completed his own investigation into the parents' petition and called their accusations "improper." Gardiner said in last week's hearing that his hands were tied in the matter and that he had to approve Hingeley's request, which he did Friday.

''It felt like the fix was in," said Dee O'Neal, a leader with the coalition. O'Neal, who was in the meeting with Gardiner and Hingeley, said the outcome was obvious from the start.

"It was clear he wasn't going to represent us. He told us he didn't represent us, but the people of the county," O'Neal said. "The first thought that came to my head was, if this guy is going to be defending Elaine Tholen and the county, who's defending the petition?

"It was definitely political. I mean, I don't care what party you vote for. It felt planned," O'Neal said. "We weren't given a fair shake because of the person who was there to defend us."

Over 100 arrests in crackdown against Albanian clan running industrial cannabis operation in Spain

An organised criminal network composed mainly of Albanian-speaking criminals, suspected of illegally trafficking drugs, has been dismantled with the support of Europol. 107 persons were arrested during an action day on 13 July which involved law enforcement authorities in Spain, Germany and Albania.

These property searches led to the following results:

This clan-based organised crime group was hierarchically structured, with branches operating internationally. Some of its members arrested have a history of drug trafficking in different countries.

The criminals were diverting the electricity supply to illegally cultivate the plants indoors. It is estimated that the stolen electricity amounts to over €1.6 million in lost utility revenue.

Europol supported this investigation by providing tailored expertise and extensive analysis support and facilitating the exchange of information through its secure channels. On the action day, a virtual command post was set up by Europol to ensure seamless coordination between all the authorities involved. Nevada Man Who Kidnapped Arizona Girl And Held Her As Sex Slave Is Headed To Prison

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – A North Las Vegas man was sentenced Tuesday to 16 years and four months in prison for kidnapping a girl in Arizona and repeatedly sexually assaulting her at his house in North Las Vegas, where he held her hostage.

“I am extremely proud of the collaborative effort put forth to ensure this defendant was brought to justice and will no longer be able to harm children again,” said Special Agent in Charge Aaron C. Rouse for the FBI. “Knowing that the defendant will serve the next 16 years in federal prison, ensures there is one less predator victimizing the most innocent and vulnerable members of our community. Our community is a lot safer because of today’s sentencing.”

According to court documents, Jimmy Carter Kim, 32, met and communicated with a 14-year-old girl through a social media application. Sometime between November 2 and 3, 2015, he and the victim met in person in Bullhead City, Arizona. Kim kidnapped the girl and drove them to his residence in North Las Vegas, where he held her hostage in a locked room for one month. He repeatedly sexually assaulted the victim, and took photos and videos of the assaults. She was only allowed out of the room to shower with him or use the bathroom.

On December 3, 2015, the victim escaped the room using scissors and a credit card and called the police. Kim was arrested the same day.

“Me and her had a prior relationship for a whole year. We just talked and we built this connection,” Kim said at his sentencing. “Next thing we know, we meet up and I put myself into a situation that I shouldn’t have.”

“I fell in love with her,” he said. “I didn’t do anything to be malicious. I wasn’t trying to kidnap her. I wasn’t trying to be a bad guy.”

Kim pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of children. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Judge Richard F. Boulware II sentenced Kim to 36 years of supervised release.

8 Jharkhand children including two girls victims of trafficking rescued from Delhi

Ranchi, August 31: Chief Minister Hemant Soren intervention saw human trafficking victims being rehabilitated in their homes.

As part of this episode, two girls and 8 children of Jharkhand victims of human trafficking were rescued from Delhi and brought rehabilitation. to Jharkhand. They have been rescued with the help of Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Centre, New Delhi, Jharkhand Bhawan and Child Welfare Association.

It is worth mentioning that as per the directions of the resident commissioner Mastram Meena, the children who have been victims of human trafficking, misplaced or trapped were rescued from Delhi by the Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Centre, New Delhi after visiting various areas in coordination with Delhi police, child welfare committee and child welfare committees.

The rescued girls and children in Delhi had been through a broker from their village and sold by touts for a hefty amount. Some children were rescued while they fleeing from the place of their work. Delhi Police cooperated with the children and sent them to the children’s home. Some children were forcibly sent by their parents to human traffickers twice in Delhi, where they were subjected to mental and physical abuse.

The girl’s stepfather and mother had handed over the girl twice to human traffickers. The department has sent a letter to the District Social Welfare Officer informing them to pay special attention to these children. With the help of District Social Welfare Officer, Gumla, a successful attempt has been made to enrol a child in the school.

The children being sent to Jharkhand will be continuously monitored through the Village Child Protection Committee (VLCPC) connecting them with the welfare schemes, sponsorship, foster care and getting them admitted in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools run in the district.

'This Is Ransom': White House Mulling Direct Foreign Aid To The Taliban

Is this what America's "extraordinary success" in Afghanistan looks like? (In the words of President Biden on Tuesday).

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has offered blunt confirmation in a Wednesday "Good Morning America" interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos that the United States won't rule out giving aid directly to the Taliban regime in Kabul.

A somewhat incredulous looking Stephanopoulos questioned, "We're gonna work with the Taliban… does that include the prospect of giving them aid?"

Sullivan without missing a beat responded of the group which was long widely condemned as a terror organization after 9/11:

"Well first of all we do believe that there is an important dimension of humanitarian assistance that should go directly to the people of Afghanistan…"

"We do intend to continue that."

Sullivan then actually used the unsettling phrase "our economic and development assistance relationship" with the Taliban.

He continued:

Secondly, when it comes to our economic and development assistance relationship with the Taliban, that will be about the Taliban's actions. It will be about whether they following through on their commitments, Their commitments to safe passage for Americans and Afghan allies. Oliver North: Weapons, Equipment Abandoned in Afghanistan Will Be ‘Reverse-Engineered in China, ‘Used Against Us’

U.S. weapons and military equipment abandoned by the Biden administration in Afghanistan will be reverse-engineered by China and Russia and then used against American interests, retired Lt. Col. Oliver North said on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

The Biden administration leftist behind “some of the most sophisticated weapons and equipment we’ve ever made for the military,” North stated. He warned, “It’s going to be reverse-engineered in China. It will be reverse-engineered in Russia. It will be used against us in other campaigns.”

North predicted that the Taliban, ISIS, and Haqqani Network would collectively become “the best armed criminal enterprise in the history of mankind” due to the Pentagon’s abandonment of military equipment, vehicles, and weaponry in Afghanistan.

He said, “What’s happening to a lot of [abandoned equipment] is that they’re being dragged across the border in Conex boxes and on trucks. A HET is a heavy equipment transporter. When we offload a tank — an M1 tank, 70 tons — off a ship, and set it down on the pier, it’s loaded onto a HET a transported to where it’s going to fight, because you don’t want to wear out the treads and don’t want to burn up more fuel than you need to need to.”

Heavy equipment transporters have been used to transport two M1 tanks from Afghanistan into Pakistan, North claimed. He remarked, “They’re going to be heading to the port where they will be loaded aboard a ship and taken to communist China for exploitation. That’s what’s happening to anywhere between five and ten of every piece of equipment. The Taliban, by the way, are getting rich on this. They’re — quote — selling them.”

The Oryx Blog detailed the losses of U.S. military weapons and equipment provided to the Afghan military in a post entitled, “Disaster At Hand: Documenting Afghan Military Equipment Losses Since June 2021 until August 14, 2021.”

“Now, other people will be using our weapons to shoot at us,” he concluded. “We’re going to see a lot of that weaponry used against us in a lot of places.”

Chicago Public Schools Turn to Uber, Lyft as Bus Drivers Resign Over Vaccine Mandate

Now, ‘woke capitalism’ has been asked to step into the breach and fill the void left by a mass exodus of bus drivers who were privately contracted by CPS through third parties – at least that’s the wild contingency plan Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is proposing.

Lightfoot wants popular rideshare services Uber and Lyft to get over 2,000 students to school, who’ve been kicked to the curb by no fault of their own, and is offering families cash payments for travel reimbursement that could cost the district millions.

Imagine shoving your kids off to school in an Uber or Lyft. That’s the vision Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has after a mass bus driver resignation due to anger over a vaccine mandate has left school administration and Lightfoot no choice but to enter talks with the rideshare program to shuttle children to school buildings.

“CPS believed there were bus drivers in place,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Monday at a press conference. “It was only Friday that the notification came from those third parties that they had a shortage of drivers. That is not CPS’ responsibility. We have a contract with those companies. We had an expectation that they were going to fulfill their contract.

“We’re going to work through these kinks,” she added. “I’m sure you’re going to find individuals for whom this wasn’t a great start. But we’re going to work hard to make sure that we solve those and address those problems.

“This is not on CPS. And I want that to be very clear.”

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, 2,100 students received approximately two days’ notice that their bus routes had been dropped. Private companies who are contracted to provide bus services told the Chicago Public Schools that 73 bus drivers quit over the district’s COVID vaccine mandate.

Even with the 73 drivers quitting, the district already had a shortage of more than 400 drivers. It’s not just the bus situation that’s dogging the school system. Chicago’s ABC-7 is reporting that approximately 30% of Chicago public school students most likely won’t return to classes at all. We’re talking 100,274 students who are “considered to be in need of interventions or outreach in order to facilitate their full engagement for the upcoming school year.”

Let’s repeat that number: 100,274 students who are highly unlikely to re-engage with the school system.

Add in the bus situation and Lori Lightfoot is now banking on Uber and Lyft to get the remaining students to buildings. CPS is reportedly offering families $1,000 payments and $500 in monthly payments for travel reimbursements.

As for the CPS mandate to have bus drivers vaccinated, neither Uber or Lyft has such a mandate. The Sun-Times is reporting “the same CPS requirement that officials said led to the bus driver resignations would likely also apply to the rideshare drivers as third-party contractors.”

Let all of this sink in for a minute.

Once students did make it to school for the first day on Monday, they were greeted by regulations including universal masking and a three-feet social distancing rule.

“Our schools are safe. CPS put in over $100,000,000 in mitigations, including improving ventilation, air purifiers in every classroom, additional cleaning, masks, partitions and so many other efforts to make sure that in this pandemic we are able to bring students back safely into their buildings, and we have,” Lightfoot said at her press conference.

Yeah, now they just have to figure out how to get to school, if they want to attend at all.

As the Taliban and their terrorist allies settle into their new caliphate, there is every reason to think that they will pick up where they left off in 2001 when U.S. forces rolled in and occupied the country. That will include the quest to develop true weapons of mass destruction capability and, in particular, to acquire a nuclear weapon.

The opportunities to do so seem boundless. The Chinese – eager to solidify their relationship with the Taliban and to exert ever greater pressure on the Indians – may simply hand the Taliban a functioning weapon. More likely we may simply see a resumption of the kind of contacts that led us to the UTN situation in the fall of 2001. Pakistani nuclear scientists or military officers with strong jihadist tendencies may simply take matters into their own hands and either build the Taliban an atomic bomb or turn over a fully functioning device from Pakistani stockpiles.

The rationale for such an action would be the same provided by Bashir. The Pakistani bomb is not really the possession of any single nation. It properly belongs to the entire Islamic community worldwide and should be made available to it. In this view, Islamabad did not build a bomb simply to protect itself. It built nuclear weapons as part of its religious duty to ensure the triumph of Islam and the establishment of a worldwide caliphate.

Once in possession of a nuclear weapon Islamic extremists in Afghanistan will find almost boundless opportunities to use it against the United States. They may choose to employ it against an American base abroad. They may decide to move it into the United States and detonate it here.

Our ports are awash in containers being shipped here from all over the globe. Efforts to screen these containers for weapons of mass destruction remain woefully incomplete at best. At present, our southern border is essentially nonexistent. Drug cartels move tons of product here without interference. A single nuclear weapon could easily make it across what is now an imaginary line on a map.

In Washington, Biden – and the band of incompetents he calls a cabinet – continue to peddle the fiction that we are dealing with a new, “pragmatic” Taliban. In Kabul, they did not get that memo. They are picking up where they left off, and almost certainly that means the quest for nuclear weapons has already begun.

Billionaire left-wing donor George Soros has given another $500,000 to Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom’s campaign to stop the California recall, bringing his total contribution to the effort to $1 million, making him one of Newsom’s top backers.

The California Secretary of State’s office reports three separate large contributions by Soros: a $250,000 donation in June to a committee called “Stop the Republican Recall of Gavin Newsom”; another $250,000 donation in early August; and the most recent donation of $500,000 before the end of August.

Twitter is launching a new “safety mode” feature that will temporarily automatically block accounts for “potentially harassing behavior or harmful language.”

The platform announced the newest method of censorship in a blog post on Wednesday.

A test group of English speaking users now have access to Safety Mode.

“Unwelcome Tweets and noise can get in the way of conversations on Twitter, so we’re introducing Safety Mode, a new feature that aims to reduce disruptive interactions. Starting today, we’re rolling out this safety feature to a small feedback group on iOS, Android, and Twitter.com, beginning with accounts that have English-language settings enabled,” the post said.

The feature will temporarily block people for seven days for “hateful remarks” or “insults.”
