Migrant Households Receiving Record Amount of Direct Welfare Payments in Britain

The British taxpayer is handing out a record £11.9 billion in direct welfare payments to households with at least one migrant, according to data from the Department for Work and Pensions.

Analysis of DWP figures by the Centre for Migration Control found that around one in six (15.6 per cent) of Universal Credit welfare payments went to households with at least one migrant.

This resulted in a record £11.9 billion ($15.9bn) in Universal Credit payments being directed to households with at least one migrant in 2025, according to the Daily Telegraph.

This represented more than a 25 per cent increase from 2024, when £9.5 billion ($12.7bn) was spent on households with a migrant, and more than 58 per cent more than in 2023, when £7.5 billion ($10bn) was spent.

The Universal Credit system coalesced multiple different welfare systems in 2013 into one monthly payment intended to subsidise unemployed people or those on low incomes. The data revealed that 65 per cent of payments, £7.7 billion ($10.3bn), went to unemployed claimants.

The actual cost of waves of mass migration imposed on the country — against the will of the voting public — is much higher in reality, with Universal Credit only representing one avenue through which tax money is directed to foreigners, including through the education or healthcare systems.

Captain Daniel Arsenault was running a morning charter out of Pensacola on Saturday when he spotted something floating offshore.

He went over for a look, the way you do. Underneath it was a good-size mahi-mahi, which went straight into a cooler already full of fish.

The thing the mahi had been sheltering under was a delta-winged military drone, and it went into the boat too.

It turns out to be an FLM-136 — the American clone of Iran’s Shahed-136, and the airframe behind the US military’s LUCAS attack drone.

Eglin Air Force Base, further along the Panhandle coast, confirmed to TWZ that it had recently lost one. It would not confirm that this was it.

Quick Facts

The Catch

Hot Spots Charters is a fishing business, not a salvage operation, so the crew did the sensible thing and hauled the drone aboard with the help of the paying passengers.

Aviation photographer Charlie Green, who knows the operator and supplied the first pictures of the find, says Arsenault then notified every local agency he could think of.

One of them eventually came and collected it. Green did not know which. Arsenault himself was underwhelmed. “Riding along offshore and saw it floating,” he told CNN.

The photographs show an airframe missing its engine, its propeller and its nose cone. That is not sabotage or a shootdown. It is what happens when a small aircraft hits water at speed: the heavy bits at either end keep going and the fuselage does not.

“I can confirm that we were doing a test and the test article went down.”

MSP Warns Drone Pilots After Near-Misses With Medevacs

A drone descended near Shock Trauma’s helipad as a Maryland State Police medevac departed during an M&T Bank Stadium event.

Maryland State Police is reminding drone operators of their legal obligations to avoid restricted airspace and yield to other aircraft, following two incidents in August in which unmanned aircraft interfered with medevac helicopter operations.

On Aug. 15, Maryland State Troopers were assisting Baltimore City Police at a sporting event at M&T Bank Stadium when a drone was spotted near the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center’s helipad.

A Maryland State Police Aviation Command helicopter, Trooper 1, was on a medevac mission and departing Shock Trauma when the drone began descending in the same area.

Police located the operator, who was not licensed and was flying inside a Temporary Flight Restriction put in place for the sporting event.

State police said helicopter pilots often struggle to spot a drone with enough time to avoid a collision, particularly at night.

Under federal rules, drone operators are responsible for seeing and avoiding helicopters and other aircraft, must yield the right-of-way to all other aircraft, and may not pass over, under, or ahead of another aircraft unless well clear.

A second incident followed on Aug. 31, when Trooper 1 and Trooper 3 responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 70 in Howard County alongside the Shock Trauma GO Team.

A trooper on the ground spotted a drone flying over both medevac helicopters during the response. That operator was never identified.

Maryland allows both manned and unmanned flights, but drone pilots are required to check for Temporary Flight Restrictions and obtain proper authorization before flying in controlled airspace.

Airspace status can be checked through one of the FAA-approved “Before You Fly” apps. Sporting events such as Ravens, Commanders, and Orioles home games carry Temporary Flight Restrictions that prohibit drone flights.

To fly recreationally, operators are required to complete the Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST), a free online certification covering safety and regulatory requirements.

Drones weighing 250 grams or more must also be registered with the FAA. Additional information on Maryland UAS operations is available from state police.

This is at least the second time this year Southern Maryland Chronicle has covered new or evolving drone rules in the state; Maryland’s Department of Natural Resources introduced a new drone restriction tied to this fall’s hunting season.

A federal judge ruled that the EPA unlawfully ended a 7 billion dollar solar grant program created during the Biden administration. The ruling said existing grants should not have been canceled. The EPA is reviewing the ruling and may appeal.

Congress approved funding for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund in 2022.

The Solar for All grant program was created in June 2023 with 7 billion dollars.

The program was designed to help low income and disadvantaged communities use residential solar power.

The Trump administration EPA canceled the program.

An audit found that about 71 million dollars had been used by early August 2025.

Judge Mary McElroy ruled that ending the program was unlawful.

The judge ruled that existing grants should not be rescinded.
