More Casualties Reported Among Healthcare Workers from Experimental Unapproved COVID Vaccines

We are finishing up the second week of the Pfizer mRNA experimental COVID vaccine being injected into healthcare workers in the U.S., and the end of the first week of the Moderna mRNA experimental COVID vaccine also being injected into U.S. healthcare workers.

The pharma-funded corporate media is reporting two more injuries due to these experimental vaccines.

According to the New York Times, Dr. Hossein Sadrzadeh, a geriatric oncologist at Boston Medical Center, “experienced a severe reaction almost immediately after he was inoculated, feeling dizzy and with his heart racing,” after being injected with the Moderna experimental vaccine, which is NOT FDA approved, but given emergency use authorization (EUA) just as the Pfizer mRNA experimental vaccine was the week before.

Dr. Sadrzadeh said he brought his EpiPen to his vaccine appointment because of his serious allergies. He said that within minutes of the vaccine injection at 3:30 p.m., his heart rate had spiked to 150 beats per minute, about twice its normal cadence; his tongue prickled and went numb. Before long, he was drenched in a cold sweat and found himself feeling dizzy and faint. His blood pressure also plummeted, he said.

His immune system, he realized, was in revolt.

“It was the same anaphylactic reaction that I experience with shellfish,” Dr. Sadrzadeh said.

Dr. Sadrzadeh used his EpiPen and was taken on a stretcher to the emergency room, where he was given several medications, including steroids and Benadryl, to calm the immune reactions that had overtaken his body. A record of his visit stated that he had been “seen in the ER for shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations and numbness after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.”

Four hours later, Dr. Sadrzadeh was released from care. As of Friday morning, he said he felt fully recovered.

But the previous day’s events shook him. “I don’t want anybody to go through that,” he said. (Source.)

The New York Post reported another injury in New York City, but with almost no details.

A New York City health care worker suffered a “significant allergic reaction” to a COVID-19 vaccine — the first “serious adverse event” to the jab in the Big Apple, officials said Wednesday.

Neither the worker’s identity nor the nature and extent of the reaction were revealed, although officials said the worker was in stable condition following unspecified treatment.

It’s also unclear which of the two vaccines that have been authorized for emergency use — one developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, the other by Moderna — caused the reaction. (Source.)

Like the Pfizer experimental vaccine, the FDA guidelines for healthcare workers in administering the Moderna experimental COVID vaccine warns about allergic reactions and going into anaphylactic shock after receiving the vaccine.

The FDA guidelines for the experimental Moderna COVID vaccine, both for healthcare workers as well as for recipients, also clearly state in multiple places that the Moderna experimental vaccine is NOT approved by the FDA:

FDA has authorized the emergency use of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, which is not an FDA-approved vaccine.

So if you choose to receive this vaccine, you are basically agreeing to further participate in the last stages of their vaccine trial to see whether or not the vaccine is effective and safe. You are volunteering to be a human lab rat.

The media, including most in the alternative media, continue to erroneously publish that the FDA has approved these vaccines.

All across the U.S. 40% – 60% of healthcare workers are reportedly refusing to participate.

The Great Reset, Part II: Corporate Socialism

As I noted in the previous installment, the Great Reset, if its architects have their way, would involve transformations of nearly every aspect of life. Here, I will limit my discussion to the economics of the Great Reset as promoted by the World Economic Forum (WEF), as well as to recent developments that have advanced these plans.

As F.A. Hayek suggested in his introductory essay to Collectivist Economic Planning, socialism can be divided into two aspects: the ends and the means.1 The socialist means is collectivist planning, while the ends, at least under proletarian socialism, are the collective ownership of the means of production and the “equal” or “equitable” distribution of the end products. Distinguishing between these two aspects in order to set aside the question of the ends and to focus on the means, Hayek suggested that collectivist planning could be marshaled in the service of ends other than those associated with proletarian socialism: “An aristocratic dictatorship, for example, may use the same methods to further the interest of some racial or other elite or in the service of some other decidedly anti-equalitarian purpose.”2 Collectivist planning might or might not run into the calculation problem, depending upon whether or not a market in the factors of production is retained. If a market for the factors of production is maintained, then the calculation problem would not strictly apply.

The collectivist planners of the Great Reset do not aim at eliminating markets for the factors of production. Rather, they mean to drive ownership and control of the most important factors to those enrolled in “stakeholder capitalism.”3 The productive activities of said stakeholders, meanwhile, would be guided by the directives of a coalition of governments under a unified mission and set of policies, in particular those expounded by the WEF itself.

While these corporate stakeholders would not necessarily be monopolies per se, the goal of the WEF is to vest as much control over production and distribution in these corporate stakeholders as possible, with the goal of eliminating producers whose products or processes are deemed either unnecessary or inimical to the globalists’ desiderata for “a fairer, greener future.” Naturally, this would involve constraints on production and consumption and likewise an expanded role for governments in order to enforce such constraints—or, as Klaus Schwab has stated in the context of the covid crisis, “the return of big government”4—as if government hasn’t been big and growing bigger all the while.

Schwab and the WEF promote stakeholder capitalism against a supposedly rampant “neoliberalism.” Neoliberalism is a weasel word that stands for whatever leftists deem wrong with the socioeconomic order. It is the common enemy of the Left. Needless to say, neoliberalism—which Schwab loosely defines as “a corpus of ideas and policies that can loosely be defined as favouring competition over solidarity, creative destruction over government intervention and economic growth over social welfare”5—is a straw man. Schwab and company erect neoliberalism as the source of our economic woes. But to the extent that “antineoliberalism” has been in play, the governmental favoring of industries and players within industries (or corporatocracy), and not competition, has been the source of what Schwab and his ilk decry. The Great Reset would magnify the effects of corporatocracy.

Nevertheless, the aims of the WEF are not to plan every aspect of production and thus to direct all individual activity. Rather, the goal is to limit the possibilities for individual activity, including the activity of consumers—by dint of squeezing out industries and producers within industries from the economy. “Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed.”6

On Tuesday, the sinister organization that the establishment media routinely presents as a benign human rights group released what it called “a detailed agenda detailing policy changes that the Biden-Harris administration should pursue within its first 100 days in office to restore the rights of Americans Muslims and advance justice for all.” “Restore the rights of American Muslims”? What rights have they been denied? If you said “none,” you’re correct, but CAIR’s wishlist emanates from the bizarro world of the group’s relentless efforts to secure coveted victimhood status for Muslims in the U.S.

The report is impressively detailed, identifying “33 new initiatives and policy reforms designed to protect and respect the rights of all U.S. citizens and residents, including Muslims, that the new administration can start to implement the first day in office.”

This is so much eyewash, as there is nothing among these 33 demands that is designed to protect and respect the rights of anyone but Muslims, but this sort of thing plays well with the media, and so it’s always worth throwing in. For example, one of the demands is “Support the free speech of all Americans and the right to boycott without government interference.” Another demands an “end the U.S. Department of Education’s attempts to suppress free speech on college campuses, including attempts to target Middle Eastern studies courses and punishing Palestinian student activists.”

These are not calls for the support of the freedom of speech as such. CAIR’s support for the freedom of speech here is stated only in connection to protesting Israel. When it comes to criticism of Islam, CAIR’s commitment to the freedom of speech suddenly weakens. It also demands the removal of “alt-right and Islamophobic online resources” from “existing vetting practices,” which is essentially a call for the removal of material that speaks honestly about the motivating ideology behind jihad terrorism. All such material was removed years ago, so it’s unclear what CAIR spokesman Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper is in a lather about here. But free speech? Not really high on CAIR’s agenda at all.

“CAIR’s agenda,” CAIR notes proudly, “is being endorsed by the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, the largest coalition of several leading national, regional, and local Muslim organizations and institutions harnessing the collective strength of American Muslims for the greater good of all.” That makes it all the more disquieting that the list of demands includes these:

1. Fundamentally reform the federal government’s unconstitutional Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB), commonly referred to as the “terrorism watchlist.”

2. Dismantle the TSA’s secretive Quiet Skies passenger tracking program, its international counterpart Silent Partner and other rules-based lists, that operate without Congressional oversight to single out law-abiding Muslim travelers for official harassment and extrajudicial consequences without due process.

3. Oppose and defund the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (“DHS”) 2020 “Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention” (“TVTP”) grant program, the successor of DHS’s previous Countering Violent Extremism (“CVE”) grant program.

4. End the FBI’s use of informants to spy on American Muslim communities.

5. Reject any new domestic terrorism statutes.

I did some digging and it turns outs, the official, Todd Prukop, has been involved in several HUGE calls that were blatant rigging of games. One of his calls was so big and bad that it caused a lawsuit to get filed.

A man has been charged with murder after three people were killed and three wounded in a shooting Saturday at a bowling alley in Rockford, Illinois, authorities said Sunday.

Police received calls about a shooting with multiple victims at Don Carter Lanes around 6:55 p.m., Rockford Police Chief Daniel O'Shea said at a news briefing Sunday morning.

"Upon arrival, officers heard gunfire from inside the building," O'Shea said. "Within several minutes, the officers were able to locate what they believed was the suspect and he was taken into custody without any officers firing their weapons."

The 37-year-old White male suspect, identified by authorities as Duke Webb, had attempted to conceal his identity and hide his weapons from police, he added.

Webb, a Florida resident and an active military member, was charged with three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder, Winnebago County State's Attorney J. Hanley said during the news conference.

Responding officers found three people dead at the scene and three others with injuries from gunfire, O'Shea said. Those victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment, he said.

Police believe the shooting was a random attack, O'Shea said. Most of the incident was captured on surveillance video from inside the bowling alley, he said.

The victims, whose identities have not been released, were three men aged 73, 65 and 69.

Two teenagers were wounded by the shooting, including a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the face and is now in stable condition. A 16-year-old girl was also shot in the shoulder and has been treated and released from a local hospital.

A 62-year-old male who received multiple gunshot wounds underwent surgery overnight and is in critical condition.

Both teenagers were picking up food when they were shot, O'Shea said. The shooting happened both inside and outside the bowling alley, he added.

According to documents seen by the news outlet, Richetti registered as a lobbyist for the e-commerce giant’s cloud services division on November 13, the same day TV networks called the election in Biden’s favor, after a trickle of late-arriving ballots put the former vice president ahead of Donald Trump in a number of key swing states.

The State Department described Xinhua as an integral component of the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda organs:

“Over the past decade and particularly under General Secretary Xi Jinping’s tenure, the CCP has reorganized China’s state propaganda outlets disguised as news agencies and asserted even more direct control over them. He has stated “Party-owned media must. . . embody the party’s will, safeguard the party’s authority … their actions must be highly consistent with the party.” In short, while Western media are beholden to the truth, PRC media are beholden to the Chinese Communist Party.”

It was a week of mosh pit politics.

Alan Keyes, eloquent scold against the evils of popular culture, ignited a culture war of sorts when he literally threw himself into a mosh pit to the music of Rage Against the Machine, a stunt orchestrated by the maverick filmmaker Michael Moore. Gary Bauer, Mr. Keyes's rival on the conservative right, upbraided him during the Republican debate in New Hampshire for demeaning the solemn quest for high office. (Mr. Bauer, meanwhile, did nothing for his own hipness quotient by mangling the name of the popular band.)

The larger mosh pit was the campaign itself: a week of jousting as the race got wilder in snowbound New Hampshire. There, a simple fact confronted those who would be president: Bill Clinton is the only aspirant since 1952 to be elected without winning the nation's first true primary.

Racing from the Iowa caucuses, where social conservatism plays well, to libertarian, tax-averse New Hampshire, the candidates shifted tactics sharply.

Bill Bradley, adopting a risky new strategy that could tarnish his above-the-fray luster, went on the attack after Vice President Al Gore drubbed him in Iowa; each is now accusing the other of resorting to that campaign no-no, negativity. Mr. Bradley accused the vice president of lying and unleashed two surrogate pit bulls, Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska and Niki Tsongas, the widow of Sen. Paul Tsongas, to attack Mr. Gore for distorting Mr. Bradley's record.

George W. Bush, the Iowa victor, found himself squeezed harder from both the right (Steve Forbes and Mr. Keyes both gained momentum in Iowa) and the left (John McCain, who skipped Iowa to save money for New Hampshire, is seeking to attract large numbers of independent voters in New Hampshire with his reform-minded centrist platform).

Amazon Hires Lobbying Firm Connected To Biden’s Top White House Adviser

Amazon, the trillion dollar tech company, has hired lobbyist Jeff Ricchetti, whose brother will be the top White House counselor to Joe Biden.

Ricchetti’s firm, which he founded in 2001 with his brother Steve, the incoming Biden adviser, registered as a lobbyist for Amazon on Nov. 13.

According to disclosure forms filed with Congress, Ricchetti will lobby for Amazon on “[i]ssues related to COVID-19, including implementation of the CARES Act.”

Biden tapped Ricchetti, his longtime aide, to serve as his counselor on Nov. 16. CNBC first reported that Amazon had hired Ricchetti.

Ricchetti Inc. is poised to be a lobbying powerhouse in the Biden administration. Amazon is the 10th company the firm has registered as a client since May 1, 2020. Ricchetti has a stable of other corporate clients, but had inked only one lobbying deal since July 1, 2016, according to records filed with Congress.

Ricchetti Inc. registered in August to lobby on behalf of Applied Materials, a California-based firm that produces semiconductor materials. Ricchetti disclosed that he plans to lobby the White House and other executive agencies on U.S. trade policy with China.

Ricchetti also signed an agreement on Nov. 13 to lobby for Vaxart, a biotech company that is developing an oral vaccine for coronavirus.

Trump Declines to Sign Relief Bill, Suspending Unemployment Benefits for Millions

President Donald Trump declined to sign the coronavirus relief and stimulus bill on Saturday evening as he pushed for higher stimulus payments of $2000 rather than $600, meaning millions of Americans would exhaust their unemployment benefits.

Two unemployment benefits programs expired at midnight on Sunday morning, as the Wall Street Journal noted:

The first provided unemployment benefits for gig and contract workers and others who don’t generally qualify for jobless aid. The second provided up to 13 weeks of additional payments to individuals who exhausted other programs that pay benefits, such as regular state unemployment benefits. In early December, roughly 14 million people were receiving benefits through those pandemic-relief programs, representing nearly three-quarters of those currently receiving jobless benefits.

The controversial bill, nearly 6,000 pages long, would also provide temporary funding for the federal government, meaning that it would shut down at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday if Trump does not sign the bill, or another bill funding the government.

Trump retweeted a video Saturdayof a speech he made last week criticizing wasteful spending in the bill, and demanding $2000 stimulus checks rather than $600 that had been agreed to by Congress.

Democrats attempted to push the $2000 stimulus proposal last week through the House by unanimous consent, which failed when Republicans objected.

Congress faced criticism for not providing more relief to Americans, and for larding a bill sold to the public as coronavirus relief with billions of dollars in unrelated spending.

But now Trump also faces criticism for allowing unemployment benefits to lapse because of his refusal to sign the compromise bill, which his own administration helped negotiate.

Scientists Demand that England Go into Strict Lockdown Immediately

A group of independent scientists has demanded that the whole of England go into the strictest lockdown level, Tier 4.

A scientist belonging to Independent SAGE has demanded that the entirety of England is put under the strictest conditions which prohibit socialising, bans ‘unnecessary’ travel, and forces so-called “non-essential” shops to close.

Independent SAGE is run by the government’s former scientific adviser, Sir David King, but is not affiliated with the government or its Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE).

Dr Zubaida Haque of Independent SAGE said on Saturday: “Given that we surpassed 70,000 COVID-19 deaths in UK on Christmas Day, and there are now more patients with coronavirus in hospital than at any point in the pandemic, why hasn’t the government implemented Tier 4 restrictions everywhere in the UK? Independent Sage are very worried.”

“We need Tier 4 everywhere now to save lives,” Dr Haque added.

Following the end of the second lockdown, the government introduced in December a three-tiered system of restrictions that came into effect in early December, putting some 99 per cent of the population under the top two tiers.

While Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised that for five days over Christmas, rules would be relaxed so all Englishmen could enjoy family time over the festive period, the discovery of a new strain of the Chinese coronavirus resulted in the government inventing Tier 4 — with the toughest restrictions — imposed almost immediately on 16 million Britons in the south, banning gatherings and effectively cancelling family Christmases.

Scientists have said that while the new strain found in Britain is more contagious, it is not believed to be more deadly.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that from December 26th, Boxing Day, that Tier 4 would be extended into other parts of the south and east of England, but stopped far short of total nation-wide Tier 4 restrictions, meaning that most of the country could still enjoy limited time with loved ones over the holy period. Still, some 43 per cent of England’s population — 24 million people — are now living under Tier 4 restrictions.

However, even on Christmas Eve, Independent SAGE demanded that Christmas be ruined not just for those 16 million Englishmen, but for the entire country, telling the government to roll out Tier 4 and “ban household mixing on Christmas Day”.

The alternative scientific group added that the “devolved nations” of the United Kingdom — Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland — “should bring forward their own national lockdowns from Boxing Day to 24th December. Tier 4 should include enhanced travel restrictions.”

The government’s own SAGE scientists have also demanded that Christmas freedoms be curtailed, with some suggesting families should meet outside or people avoid hugging loved ones.

One member of NERVTAG, the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group, claimed that “kissing your grandparents may be delivering a deadly dose of the virus”, while the architect of the first lockdown, Neil Ferguson, alleged earlier in the year that “people will die” if families socialise at Christmas.

The claims of Trump and his supporters about the election is a “grifting scam,” Kinzinger said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

There is one final step to locking in Joe Biden as president, and that is when, at the Jan. 6 joint session of Congress, the electoral college results are tallied.

With Trump intent on staying in power, this won’t be a routine session.

Trump is lobbying Republicans in the House and Senate to contest the electoral college certification. Biden has collected 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

Using his powerful and persuasive Twitter feed, Trump has been focusing on people and institutions who refuse to help him stay in office while tainting Biden as an illegitimate president-elect.

In the past few days, Trump has attacked Senate Republicans, the Supreme Court, the FBI and the Justice Department.

What is alarming is Trump’s encouragement for his supporters to hit the streets.

The day after Christmas Trump said in a tweet, “The “Justice” Department and the FBI have done nothing about the 2020 Presidential Election Voter Fraud, the biggest SCAM in our nation’s history, despite overwhelming evidence. They should be ashamed. History will remember. Never give up. See everyone in D.C. on January 6th.”

Kinzinger, whose 16th congressional district is south and west of Chicago, is one of the few Republicans – in Congress and in Illinois – to speak out against the crazy conspiracy theories Trump embraces and to stand up to the propaganda spewed by Trump and his allies that the election can be reversed by Congress.

On CNN on Sunday, Kinzinger told host Dana Bash, “This is a scam, though, I mean, you know, to explain to people that somehow Congress can overthrow the certified results of every state, that we can change an election outcome when there was not a single court case that had any legs.”

Rather, some members of Congress, the president and what Kinzinger sarcastically calls “thought leaders” on Twitter are “raising money on this scam.”

“It is a scam; it is going to disappoint the people that believe this election was stolen, that think this is an opportunity to change it,” he said. And instead of being disappointed in Trump et al who led them on this “grifting scam,” the Trump backers will blame it Republicans who would not go along with Trump’s schemes.

Bash asked Kinzinger if he was worried about what Trump may do in his last days in office.

“I’m concerned, to an extent about Jan. 6, because if you convince people that, you know, Congress can change a legitimate election and everything was stolen.”

Driving this, said Kinzinger, who has taken on a role as a conspiracy debunker, are “deep state” and “QAnon theories, which is that it’s Satanist pedophiles that run the government. You could see people being driven to violence, so I’m concerned about that.”

More rights violations and general wrongfulness has been uncovered. The Investigatory Powers Tribunal doesn't like what it's been seeing from MI6, which has apparently let its sources and informants run wild. The Tribunal doesn't say what criminal violations have been committed in the name of national security, but its limited ruling expresses its displeasure with attempted MI6 interference and its apparent blessing of criminal actions.

MI6 agents and informants may be committing crimes in the UK, a watchdog has revealed.

The Investigatory Powers Tribunal disclosed the ruling despite government attempts to keep the matter secret.

It also said questions raised should be disclosed to campaigners, who have been asking for greater legal clarity over what the intelligence agencies can do.

It comes a day after the intelligence services watchdog raised its own questions about some MI6 activities.

The ruling [PDF] doesn't say anything about the criminal acts. Instead, it focuses on MI6's attempt to derail the judicial process. Ongoing legal proceedings have demanded a level of forthcoming-ness British intelligence agencies aren't accustomed to. MI6 reacted badly. This resulted in MI6 employees trying to talk the court into shutting further transparency down. The court rejected this… publicly.

The government wants to hide something. Possibly that "something" is included in a recent report by IPT's oversight. The recently released report doesn't dig into the details, but makes it clear something approaching abhorrent was ordained by intelligence community handlers.

On renewal, six months after the original submission, SIS set out a number of indicators that the agent may have been involved in, or have contemplated, the serious criminality referenced above. We concluded that, on the basis of this new information, SIS’s ‘red lines’ had most likely been breached, but the renewal submission failed to make this clear. Whilst the submission referred to SIS’s ‘red lines’ and provided information about criminality that may have occurred and noted an increased risk in the case, it did not make expressly clear that SIS’s ‘red lines’ had probably been crossed.

Neither film could have been made without military support – nearly half of USS Christmas takes place on board an aircraft carrier, and the scenes were filmed aboard the Battleship North Carolina and the USS Yorktown, courtesy of the US Navy. The plot of Operation Christmas Drop revolves around Andersen Air Force Base in the Western Pacific island of Guam, with full access provided by the US Air Force.

Christmas rom-coms might seem an odd choice for the Pentagon’s entertainment liaison offices to support – neither film depicts war or violence of any kind, after all. But if we unwrap them, what we find beneath the enticing shiny paper and ribbons is not merely the disappointment of the same gift they got you three years ago, but the nagging anxiety and sense of betrayal that comes with an unwelcome present. However, we cannot simply re-gift USS Christmas and Operation Christmas Drop and wash our hands of responsibility for the bad choices of others.

Hallmark, the Pentagon, and a partridge in a pear tree

Why a giant of cinema such as Hallmark would want to work with the Department of Defense (DOD) is difficult to pin down, but the relationship goes back at least a decade. Hundreds of pages of reports from the US military’s Hollywood offices, especially those of the Army, detail numerous collaborations with Hallmark since 2010.

These range from manipulative, tearjerking Mother’s Day video messages from deployed sons and daughters to manipulative, heartwarming military-dog-themed reality shows. Another effort saw them commemorate 2015 Veterans’ Day with a special film featuring a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient receiving the accolade of having a highway interchange dedicated to him.

Supporting these sorts of productions helps the DOD expand both its fans and its market share – the lifeblood for any entertainment-media concern. As one Army report notes, regarding its support to the Second Annual Hero Dog Awards Show, “By airing on the Hallmark Channel, the demonstration of the Army serving as America’s Force of Decisive Action reached an audience that it might not typically reach.”

How a golden retriever could ever be a ‘Force of Decisive Action’; however, the report doesn’t clarify.

The point is that while Man of Steel and the Transformers franchise act as attention-grabbing recruitment commercials for teenage boys and young men, in order to reach young women and their mothers, the Pentagon has to try something other than blockbusters about good aliens fighting bad aliens with the help of F-35s and the National Guard.

Likewise, few films and TV shows aimed at women have the necessary story components for promoting the military as the solution to all problems. Enter Pitch Perfect 3, Captain Marvel, and some of the worst Christmas films you’ve ever seen.

Authorities in the Swiss canton of Valais have been left perplexed as hundreds of UK tourists vanished into thin air after the Swiss government ordered them into 10-day quarantine amid concerns over a new Covid-19 strain.

Verbier, a Swiss ski resort extremely popular among wealthy British tourists, has suddenly seen about half the Brits who came there to spend their Christmas holidays disappear without a trace.

The strange incident appears to be little but an act of defiance, though, as the Swiss authorities had earlier imposed a retroactive 10-day quarantine on all arrivals from the UK, backdated to include all those who had landed in the Alpine country since December 14. Announced just ahead of Christmas, the move appeared not to have gone down well with the British holidaymakers.

“Many of them stayed a day in quarantine before they vanished without trace under the cover of darkness,” said Jean-Marc Sandoz, communications officer of the Valais municipality of Bagnes, where the ski resort is located. According to the media, at least 200 of the 420 British tourists who were expected to stay in Verbier did a moonlight flit, though some reports suggested that number might be as high as 350.

Hotel staff noticed something was not quite right only when repeated calls to the quarantined guests’ rooms were left unanswered and meals left in front of their doors were left untouched, according to reports.

The whereabouts of the disappeared tourists remains mostly unknown, although some media outlets are suggesting a number “reappeared” in neighboring France. The authorities called the situation “unprecedented” and criticized the “hastily” introduced quarantine that had apparently prompted some of the tourists to take such drastic steps.

Neither the British nor the Swiss federal authorities have made any comment on the matter so far. However, the news did not go unnoticed on social media, leaving Twitter users wondering how such a big group of people could leave completely unnoticed.

A returned traveller who went missing from hotel quarantine in Perth for nine hours is now facing a $50,000 fine and up to 12 months behind bars.

Jenny D'ubios arrived in Western Australia on December 19 from Spain and was required to remain in isolation at the Pan Pacific Hotel for 14 days.

However, at about 10am yesterday the 49-year-old chose to breach her isolation by leaving her hotel room to walk outdoors.

Ms D'ubios was found by police and arrested around 10.20pm yesterday.

Acting Premier and Health Minister Roger Cook told media he was angry about the breach.

"I'm disappointed and I'm angry … her action potentially put many people at risk," he said, adding that WA has not had a COVID-19 case of community transmission in eight months.

"This should not have occurred … The result of this is the woman is in police custody up to $50,000 and 12 months in prison."

He said Ms D'ubios left the hotel, despite security guards demanding she remain. Police were then called, with one security guard following Ms D'ubios outside.

Mr Cook said when police arrived, the guard had lost sight of Ms D'ubios, prompting an immediate search.

It's alleged that just after 10am, she boarded a bus for Fremantle on Terrace Road. Three hours later she photographed herself at an unknown beach, before heading to an address in Warnbro, south of Perth.

Police say at that home she hugged a mother and child known to her. They are now both in quarantine.

At about 10pm she called a taxi and made her way to Rockingam General Hospital, wearing a mask. Police were notified and she was taken into custody.

D'ubios had made it known on Facebook she was leaving her hotel.

I just remembered something from a few weeks ago that seems relevant now. This happened in Hendersonville, Tn, just to the north of Nashville.

A 24-year-old Brooklyn woman who jumped to her death from the Vessel in Hudson Yards had written a gut-wrenching farewell on Instagram — and it has now appeared online after her suicide.

“If you’re reading this, I’m gone,” Yocheved Gourarie wrote in the post, which she had scheduled to run one day after her tragic leap.

“I hope you can find some comfort in knowing I am no longer in pain.”

On Tuesday, Gourarie, of Crown Heights, rode the subway into Manhattan and bought a ticket to the Vessel, a popular tourist attraction.
