The chip's speed is its main selling point, Wikipedia states that IBM sells 5ghz+ POWER9 chips.

What part of the above do you have trouble understanding? It's normal to be disappointed if they only sell chips that have 2008 overclocked xeon clock speeds.

They could've also put a x86 translation layer, like some ARM netbooks have.(i don't know if it's implemented in software or hardware)

There's also zero indication of an ability to overclock.

I mean, yeah I used to quite often before the new millennium. Back then, I used the command line more often than not on my laptop. These days, not really. My laptop can easily handle a modern desktop like Plasma 5 or whatnot. People don't really think it's anything but Windows with an exotic theme, or a Mac, with an exotic theme.

4chan staff knows their moderation is reddit, so they can't afford the users' trust in having what's essentially a ban evasion feature, because it'd just be used to criticize said bad moderation and censorship issues. 8chon never had that problem, which is why Tor is possible here.

Stick with stable. I did the testing thing for a year or so, but things break, and while I generally know how to fix them it's still a pain in the ass. Stable is rock solid. If your priority is getting actual work done rather than dicking with your rig, stable is better.

I've just started working through Linux and it seems to me that Fedora is quite comfortable for many purposes during work process. I also tried to use Debian. I work in the software development industry and I used to provide proof of concept https://spdload.com/blog/poc-vs-prototype-vs-mvp/ to my clients and Linux is very attractive option in this case.

Fedora, for sounding like the most autistic option, is probably the least; Close to bleeding-edge, 6 month major release-cycle, 1st class GNOME experience; But also a solid KDE offering. RPMFusion is actually a maintained, trusted source for non-free software / codecs and not a weird 3rd-party that is 'apt' (heh, Debian Multimedia) to break things. Though not used a bunch, have contributor-repos (copr) that are actually properly namespaced unlike from what I can tell in AUR,

It's also obviously somewhat a testing ground for RHEL / CentOS and with it a lot of new technologies are developed and pushed on it first and gets released to other distros later -- this sounds 'risky' in-theory but in about 10 years of it being my primary Distro I've not run into any show-stoppers; The release team is always careful and conservative where it matters.

Maybe wouldn't recommend to brand new users; There's 'better' options (not-as-legally-encumbered) that will automatically grab non-free drivers, codecs, and the like -- but besides that am confident about anyone can get productive in Fedora 'Workstation' within a few days.

PASSWORD:2020

ON FORUM POST THERE IS A VIDEO TUTORIAL HOW TO INSTALL AND HOW TO USE IT I WILL SHARE HERE:

Video link:https://streamable.com/3kozt

The patch was created by abbodi1406 & notebookcheck from My digital forum life and TEAMOS

A project to bypass Extended Security Updates eligibility check for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Win7/Win2k8R2 official support and updates ended on 14 January 2020.

However, Microsoft will provide additional 3 years of security updates to the organizations and businesses which have paid the license for the ESU.

This project helps bypassing this restriction and install ESU updates without purchasing a license, as a proof of concept, non-profit, consumer-targeted.

## Important Notes

ESU updates are not supported offline (you cannot integrate them), they must be installed online on live system.

The ESU eligibilty is only checked during update installation, therefore, you can choose to keep the bypass installed, or remove it afterwards.

The bypass will only allow to install the ESU updates, it will not permit to get the updates themselves via Windows Update.

You can acquire and download the updates manually from Microsoft Update Catalog site

You can track the updates KB numbers, either check the official Update History page

## How to Use

Extract the pack contents to a folder with simple path

Install: right-click on installer.bat and “Run as administrator”

Remove : right-click on remover.bat and “Run as administrator”

The structural weaknesses inherent in a centralized discussion board like 8kun have already been seen. There is a stronger alternative up and running already: Aether.

* distributed not centralized

* engineered to resist censorship

* supportive of Free Expression

* AGPL licence / Free Software

* Users can impeach and replace mods

* Ephemeral (posts disappear after 6 months unless archived)

* can't be blocked by DNS (uses client)

* Has been active years

Investigate Aether for yourselves, verify it is a strong platform for communication, post something funny, report back to the community:

I didn't see a QTDDTOT so pardon me for asking here. It's been over a year since i've messed with a cell phone and never knew much about them anyways. it used to be you could buy a burner for $20 bucks that came with minutes/texts that also didnt expire every 30 days.

does this still exist?

walmart wants 20-30 for a phone and then 40 (with tax) every 30 days just to be able to text.

i am a vpn user that cannot get on: twitter, youtube, skype, periscope etc etc without providing a cell number so they can text me, which is all i need this for. none of the "free sms texting" sites have ever worked for me.

what is the cheapest solution here? a burner for 55 up front then 40/month? or is there some online text service that actually works? all i need is to verify accounts to get on social media sites.

again, apologies for having to make a thread.

http://kottke.org/15/05/how-richard-stallman-does-his-computing

>Richard Stallman, the free software activist and author of some of the world's most used and useful software, probably uses his computer and the Internet a lot differently than you do. For starters, ethics and privacy concerns trump his need for convenience.

I am careful in how I use the Internet.

I generally do not connect to web sites from my own machine, aside from a few sites I have some special relationship with. I usually fetch web pages from other sites by sending mail to a program (see git://git.gnu.org/womb/hacks.git) that fetches them, much like wget, and then mails them back to me. Then I look at them using a web browser, unless it is easy to see the text in the HTML page directly. I usually try lynx first, then a graphical browser if the page needs it (using konqueror, which won't fetch from other sites in such a situation).

I occasionally also browse using IceCat via Tor. I think that is enough to prevent my browsing from being connected with me, since I don't identify myself to the sites I visit.

I never pay for anything on the Web. Anything on the net that requires payment, I don't do. (I made an exception for the fees for the stallman.org domain, since that is connected with me anyway.)

I would not mind paying for a copy of an e-book or music recording on the Internet if I could do so anonymously, and it were ethical in other ways (no DRM or EULA). But that option almost never exists. I keep looking for ways to make it happen.

>/poltech/

not even. i don't really care about crossposters between /pol/ and /tech/, that happens all over the site. if you're here, it's expected. /tech/ isn't unique in having anons from /pol/ crossposting to it, all the boards do. if anything i embrace it in the hope i can help someone legitimately interested in learning to code. /pol/ gives /tech/ greater exposure in this regard.

fundamental problem is /tech/ never codes anymore. back like 2 years ago i could go there and there'd be maybe 3 or 4 threads on the front page with anons posting code, other threads on setting up build tools, ide's, etc. i've tried to create basic coding threads and they get sagebombed by anons complaining about the language used or will suggest using rust or they'll say they'll post later but then they never do. it's all bikeshedding now, they complain about the face of things (comparing different dists or languages) but never delve into the substance (by coding irl). it's frustrating anon.

And that's what happens when you allow political arguments on a technology board.

Disagree.

>political discussion is expected, crossboard on 8ch

>there were political arguments even back then and it didn't stop coding threads

It's the people who constantly complain about /poltech/ yet themselves never code who create the problems because they distract from coding. Politics on /tech/ was never a problem until the whiny posters showed up. There were groups actively trying to teach coding to /pol/posters on /tech/ through irc and mumble.

Political discussion only derails when someone starts whining about it because whining about it derails by baiting the entire thread to reply. Whining about political discussion shows complete newfaggotry or intent to derail given that political discussion is cross-board and expected on 8ch. If you think /pol/ posters are derailing your thread the best thing you can do is to reply to them, remind them of the thread topic, and ask them to stay on topic and not phrase it as a condescending faggot, and stay on topic yourself to make an example.

Otherwise you're the bigger problem by baiting and further derailing.
