BO here. I claimed the board shortly before 8chan died in the hopes of not only reviving the board but creating a viable alternative to hellhole that is 4/toy/. After 8chan died /animu/ hosted us on their bunker, where /toy/ has been ever since. I requested this board to be migrated so lost soldiers could find where we are and so we can at least archive the many great threads we have over here. Even back then I realised 8kun would not be the place for our community to thrive, and so I have decided to instead keep us on the webring so that we can not only continue but grow as a community. However as I locked the board and left a post up redirecting us to our new home, I was removed as BO of this board. Since then 8kun has continued to bleed users and has became less and less like the 8chan we knew, all while Jim and Ron become increasingly less transparent and the site still isn't functional. There's been a mass exodous of 8kun users over the past couple of weeks and it looks like the death of this site will be soon. In short, there is no room for growth on 8kun and I don't want the board associated with rabid qtards - we're a board for discussing toys, not fringe politics or conspiracy theories. I won't be claiming this board as I believe the best thing for the community is to remain whole and move to our aforementioned new home. Hope to see all of you guys on /toy/'s new home.
ITT: Toys you want from companies/franchises you hate
Sometimes there's just those special instances of toys that really call to you through, usually, aesthetic reasons. But you gotta resist the urge to just buy it because you know you don't like the franchise or company behind the toy.
For me, I don't like Dragonball all that much but I enjoyed the rebooted Broly movie. Batman & Venom I've similar reasons. I just hate both comic companies. But the characters just lend themselves to looking so damn cool.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE GENERAL
This is a general to discuss all things Masters of the Universe and She-Ra.
Mattel is currently reviving the line with the first two new figures released as part of a SDCC two-pack containing Prince Adam and He-Man with their looks from the old mini-comics.
The figures seem to be in the same scale of the vintage 80's figures, but with new modern articulation, and sculpted in a style that seems to be both aimed at adult collectors and children with the idea that they'll be sold at retail, seeming a bit reminiscent of the recent Batman: Missions toy line, which are $10 at retail.
It's been confirmed that 4horsemen will be sculpting the new line of figures and that more will be on the way besides these two convention figures.
In addition the MOTU Mega Construx line will continue, with a new set being released as a SDCC exclusive with a new Moss Man figure.
Super7 will also likely be losing the license to make MOTU Classics as Mattel is taking back over production on the line because of the new live action movie that's in production, so don't expect anything new after Snake Mountain. Super7 however will still produce figures from other lines in the same scale and style as Classics so don't feel too bad about the line ending, since they will be doing TMNT, Thundercats, Toxic Crusaders, and Conan figures.

I am not even a collector but from time to time I have some ideas and I finally decided to buy one of these, she looks quite well and I wonder if there is people out there who basically design clothes for these and know their way around the quirks of polishing mold residue and use proper materials for everything?

I'm not very well versed in the collection of figures, but I recently watch jin-roh wolf brigade and want a kazuki fise figure. I've looked over eBay and amazon and all I find are figs over 150$ or revoltecgs for 16$
So I have two questions
1. Why the fuck is everything so expensive when revoltecgs is pocket change
And 2. Where do I find good quality models for preferably less than 100$

Has anyone here picked up the new wave of Bionicles? I just got them all last week, what is /toy/'s thoughts on them?
My complaints just go to their names, (skull basher, kulta, etc) and their color schemes. There is way too much red where it doesn't belong, and the chest piece is very situational.

Need to identify toys worth selling
A friend of mine left me all their old Spawn toys and Transformers. They're in decent condition except for a heaping helping of dust they got before going into storage. They're all obviously loose figures, some are broken, some are intact but I don't know what goes to who. Are any of them worth actually cleaning up to sell, or should I toss them in a bin at a yardsale for pennies just to get rid of them? More pics in coming.
2nd-hand Play Arts advice/pricing
I got a pair of Play Arts: Kingdom Hearts 2 Edition figures for $4, they are Sephiroth and Cloud Strife. I am missing the swords for both, and Sephiroth's wing is broken off at the joint. [I have the wing.] What do you all estimate they'd be worth? Market for new condition is $135/125 respectively. Also, should I use a super glue/epoxy to repair the wing, or would that lower the value, even if done very neatly, to the point you could barely even tell upon inspection? [I'm pretty damn good at repairs.] Pic related, it is the two figures. [disregard the middle figurine [sora], I got the pic from a search engine]

I wanted it for the cool drum gun since I don't know anything about Leos other than the fact that I like the plainness and the ground gun, but the articulation on he RD is fucking insane and I ended up liking Leos a lot more.
Comes with barely any accessories besides some hands, and the price is pretty high for grunts, but I like it (not enought to buy multiples)
