I think this is the third time it have been created and I suppose it will get deleted due inactivity once again sooner than later. So, imo, trying to force people to create generals for every brand will be as successful as forbidding the general threads all together. At no point the mods on the other chan said "Thou shall post on the general threads", that kind of threads just happened to came into existence on their own.
So, yeah, ditch entirely the "are general threads good or bad?" argument. If people want to create and post on them, they will be here. If not, they will get pruned on their own.
Now, that lead me to a very specific request: forbid entirely "bump" posts. In the other chan, people were starting threads, and after a couple hours or days without response, they would blatantly bump their stupid thread with shameless bumps.
See these assholes for an example:
http://boards.4chan.org/tg/thread/37518716165 responses, 3 posts are plain "bump" replies, but a shit load of them are one line replies posted hours after the last reply, quite often in a completely unrelated topic. Worst part? There are 3 "fate general" threads on the archive, and there is one "active" right now on the main board. And none of them hit the auto-sage, all were pruned because inactivity. That's the kind of forced shit that should be banned.
News about the toy? Good.
OC material related to it? Fine
Questions about obscure details, and replies to it? Is ok, I guess.
"Bump"? Delete it.
One liner reply, like "LOL, this game is the awesome sauce #Like #thumbsup"? Fuck, ban it.
If enough posts are just "bumps", hit it with an auto-sage.

Random thoughts on some topics.
- Allow hot glue threads. That fetish isn't that popular to overrun the place. And we need all the new users we can get.
- Japanese statues should be allowed too, if anything because there's a lot of neat merchandise that we can't talk about on the other chan because some random generic rule. It would also save a lot of trolling and "statueshit" posting.
- Pick and filter specific words. Necan't or that customizer guy name should be filtered.
- Apparently, the pet troll that is on the loose on the other chan is trying to stir shit here. Isn't that cute? Anyway, does this place have a warning system? If so, every time the pet posts their baits, and before deleting them, hit with a warning to anyone who replied to it. If they insist on feeding it, dispense bans. Is harsh, but the pet should learn to stay on the other chan, and people should know better to not reply to dumb stale pastas.

No, there isn't a warning system, although his ban said why he was warned and he could have clearly posted in his thread instead of making a new one or sent me a message privately if he wanted to talk about or contest his ban.
As for the generals I know forcing them isn't a good idea, but I also don't want to be faced with a point where there are ten thousand essentially one-line threads that bump other longer threads off. It may not be necessary now to put those rules into place, but I might have to change things later.

Don't ban statues, it's a illogical rule that proved how out of touch Moot and his mods were with the community.
We already have a few lewd toy threads, that will attract some people since that's banned on halfchan
Ban East vs. West baiting. It's the biggest problem with halfchan's toy. It's impossible to discuss any of the Japanese Darth Vader or Iron Man figures without some loser ruining the thread.
Other than that, I would say we'll get more discussion by having whole threads devoted solely to certain big upcoming releases. When Figuarts Captain America goes up for Pre-order, start a thread about him. Threads devoted to one figure are pretty much non existent on halfchan /toy/ with generals being so popular, so I imagine that might bring back a unique type of discussion.
I think OC is key too. Got a new figure that hasn't shipped to everyone yet? People will be curious about first impressions. "Make your toys do this pose" threads are always fun, and halfchan just started one, using a censored picture of a nude model as the OP. The censorship ignited a lot of stupidity, so why not do the same without censorship?
Hit up /co/ and /a/ maybe, and casually suggest they bring any merch/buyfag threads here, especially since statueshit isn't banned. Get the Jojo fans in here.
We will gain traction as halfchan becomes worse. We're an off shoot of a slow board, so it'll take some time.

And mods can tell who's who anyway. They actually see IP's. They know when somebody's resetting their router to evade a ban. They know where somebody is posting from.

Jin hasn't been seen that frequently anymore, although halfchan's janitor is his friend and issues harsh bans to anyone who even slightly insults him. I think Jin's gotten burned out, he's never been a good troll, he's lazy and bad at it, and everyone knows when he's doing shit because even anonymous he only talks about the same old shit. Greg was innocent at first, morons just flipped out over his fingerless gloves because mootchan is sensitive. Then he went all CWC, kept making death threats, and was thrown in a mental hospital for physically assaulting his own mother, so he kind of ended up being human trash.
mootchan /toy/ is full of crybabies though that whine over nothing, enforcing the notion that adults who buy toys are big babies. In all honesty this board would be better off without 99% of them over here.
