Robotix has a bretty good 1950s-60s era feel
on an unrelated note this could make a decent banner but I can't edit it on my tablet.
Really miss this, twas Hasbro's first whack at robots before Transformers.
Toys were hilariously complicated though. Needed an engineering degree just to unbox'em.

I have a bunch of Zoids I built as a kid. Still have the Liger and Z-rex.

Anyone heard of Mini Action Figure series? They're basically poorman Soul Of Chogokin, being smaller and sadly no diecast. However they still kept the combining gimmick and have fair amount of articulation.
