Sometimes there's just those special instances of toys that really call to you through, usually, aesthetic reasons. But you gotta resist the urge to just buy it because you know you don't like the franchise or company behind the toy.

For me, I don't like Dragonball all that much but I enjoyed the rebooted Broly movie. Batman & Venom I've similar reasons. I just hate both comic companies. But the characters just lend themselves to looking so damn cool.

Not really hate, but more indifferent. As much as people whine about how awful Fortnite game is, the character designs really lend themselves into great toys and even sort of created mini toy renaissance.

Yes & no. I'm sure they've boosted the sales of toys through dumb kids wanting these figures but figure collecting has become more of an adult hobby now with imported higher quality figures. Maybe this will spark some more companies trying to ride the wave of Fortnite toy sales but it won't end well unless they can really grab kids attentions away.

Kids still like toys, it's just that most toys today are shit if you haven't noticed…

Kids are more distracted by phones, games like Fortnite, & movies. Even if toys are shit nowadays, kids wouldn't care. Kids don't have the highest taste.

This is possibly a corporate datamining thread to determine how to attract more customers that don't care about the rest of the products. POSSIBLY.

Kids would care like we cared. It's not like they weren't any video games in the 80's, 90's , etc. However they were more toy companies back than, hence better toys.

>Kids don't have the highest taste.

They are ignorant and don't know any better, if they saw amazing toys like we did, they would appreciate them as well.

I'm going to help you be less paranoid by using some simple deductive reasoning. There are a few thousand unique IP that visit this site. There are 300 million people in the USA alone. The time and resources it would take to have data collection agents monitoring this site in particular would be more than any possible ROI they could get. When corporations need to datamine they instead pay off search engine companies (aka google) for aggregated data on product searches by region and through amazon based on star# reviews and actual purchases. This data in the raw is easy to break down and provides clear metrics on a 5 point likert scale from a HUGE pool of participants.

Think of it this way. If you were a company that sold hotdogs, would you want your data mining info to come from 10 people that your paid shills personally interviewed, or from 10,000 people who took an online survey?

Definitely this. The figures look great, have a load of accessories, and a fuckton of articulation. For a mass produced series aimed at children, they're really good quality.

>>1416

I seriously doubt it. 4/toy/ seems like the better place to datamine.

Um, acktually the McFarlane one are for ages 12 and up, but yeah they're really great for playline by today's standards.

Yes, much more likely

Problem is they can't appreciate amazing toys if they don't have the money to buy them (as they're usually imports) or don't understand you can't throw them all over the place. Though I guess the latter is more for the lower age groups.

Which brings back to my point a, most playline toys today are shit thanks to the lower number of toy companies. However, maybe things will change for the better thanks to Jazwares (and another new company…).

Anyway, it's better not to derail this thread anymore. If you want to discuss playline you can go ahead here >>1407

Haven't bought any of them. It's just about the shameful temptation.

Well, I prefer to separate the company from the toys that it's making. There was a problem with Hasbro, but I was buying its toys because I thought the reason for the problem was ridiculous

I'm not sure if I follow the news about the problems inside the company and something like that because I think that if a toy is nice and high-quality, I'll buy it anyway. And I'm not looking for some disadvantages in a company in the first place because I don't think it's my business. That's why I didn't have any problems and negative thoughts about buying this playground https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/seije/snake-ladder-climbing-playground-for-kids-1-7-yo?ref=d77866&utm_source=goodevas_gl&utm_medium=post , and I'm sure I wouldn't find any disadvantages anyway.
