BO here. I claimed the board shortly before 8chan died in the hopes of not only reviving the board but creating a viable alternative to hellhole that is 4/toy/. After 8chan died /animu/ hosted us on their bunker, where /toy/ has been ever since. I requested this board to be migrated so lost soldiers could find where we are and so we can at least archive the many great threads we have over here. Even back then I realised 8kun would not be the place for our community to thrive, and so I have decided to instead keep us on the webring so that we can not only continue but grow as a community. However as I locked the board and left a post up redirecting us to our new home, I was removed as BO of this board. Since then 8kun has continued to bleed users and has became less and less like the 8chan we knew, all while Jim and Ron become increasingly less transparent and the site still isn't functional. There's been a mass exodous of 8kun users over the past couple of weeks and it looks like the death of this site will be soon. To any lost soldiers, /toy/ can now be found here: https://prolikewoah.com/toy/

In short, there is no room for growth on 8kun and I don't want the board associated with rabid qtards - we're a board for discussing toys, not fringe politics or conspiracy theories. I won't be claiming this board as I believe the best thing for the community is to remain whole and move to our aforementioned new home. Hope to see all of you guys on /toy/'s new home.

Sometimes there's just those special instances of toys that really call to you through, usually, aesthetic reasons. But you gotta resist the urge to just buy it because you know you don't like the franchise or company behind the toy.

For me, I don't like Dragonball all that much but I enjoyed the rebooted Broly movie. Batman & Venom I've similar reasons. I just hate both comic companies. But the characters just lend themselves to looking so damn cool.

I'm not sure if I follow the news about the problems inside the company and something like that because I think that if a toy is nice and high-quality, I'll buy it anyway. And I'm not looking for some disadvantages in a company in the first place because I don't think it's my business. That's why I didn't have any problems and negative thoughts about buying this playground https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/seije/snake-ladder-climbing-playground-for-kids-1-7-yo?ref=d77866&utm_source=goodevas_gl&utm_medium=post , and I'm sure I wouldn't find any disadvantages anyway.

Back in 1991 Dragon magazine made a game where Army Men are pitted against an invasion of Dinosaurs- a game anyone could play with cheap dollar store toys. DINO WARS! allows you to use any army men & plastic dinosaurs you have lying around to re-enact both childhood play and lost-in-time B-movie action, only this time with dice, tape measures, and shiny rules instead of just your lousy imagination. It is really geared towards two-sided battles, humans vs. dinosaurs, but you can have as many players as you have room and figures for per side.

Seems like they have good reason behind that, it's not just the company itself being Russian, but it's also being made there.

As for me both SDCC and Wonfes were highly disappointing, especially SDCC. The best highlight of both events was the new Alter Nation toyline, seeing new ip full of character and not generic shit in 2019 is extremely exciting.

Obitsu didn't show anything new at Wonfes, I hoped they at least show more updated prototpe of the new 45cm body. Azone had nothing interesting to show, well it's good for my wallet.

Highlights from Wonfes: new Chitocerium; VI-Carbonia Adamas, new line of mecha musume figma with model kit parts, a competing line to Picco Neemo by Hon studio, another new 1/8 action figure line by Apex Innovation (seems quite rare these days, everyone moving to model kits due to cost) and two 1/12 model kits by Kotobukiya.

>squishy girly toys in candy envelopes

Sounds familiar, yet I am not sure which toy line you talk about.

While I like slime gimmick for boys toys, in case of girl toys it's either don't have actual good play value or end up being disturbingly disgusting (girl toys are the real gross toys).

I am hoping they will make bigger one like they did with Bike Robo.

I still prefer the vintage toy over this tbh; the articulation is not amazing (no wrist swivel) and the transformation is stupidly complexed like TF. The whole point and advantage that Machine Robo had over TF was their simple transformation and lack of kibble.

No, these are vinyl dolls; they have inner hard plastic frame covered by soft~semi soft vinyl unlike BJDs which are held by an elastic and are usually made of resin. They tend to be clustered with BJD because Volks company makes these kind of dolls as well which enables them to get a pass by the elitists at Den Of Angels.
