Back in 1991 Dragon magazine made a game where Army Men are pitted against an invasion of Dinosaurs- a game anyone could play with cheap dollar store toys. DINO WARS! allows you to use any army men & plastic dinosaurs you have lying around to re-enact both childhood play and lost-in-time B-movie action, only this time with dice, tape measures, and shiny rules instead of just your lousy imagination. It is really geared towards two-sided battles, humans vs. dinosaurs, but you can have as many players as you have room and figures for per side.

there was a russian brand named Technolog or Tehnolog, i think, they made untraditional platisc soldiers, fantasy stuff and robots, but those were kinda expensive ($10 or so for 6 or 7 units)

Tehnolog

These are awesome anon and I'm saying it as someone who isn't really into miniature figurines.

I just searched for them and found out they're sold on Amazon too (not a scalped price).

I don't know if the company changed it's name..it says by Fantasy Battles.

>kinda expensive

Seems like they have good reason behind that, it's not just the company itself being Russian, but it's also being made there.

As for me both SDCC and Wonfes were highly disappointing, especially SDCC. The best highlight of both events was the new Alter Nation toyline, seeing new ip full of character and not generic shit in 2019 is extremely exciting.

Obitsu didn't show anything new at Wonfes, I hoped they at least show more updated prototpe of the new 45cm body. Azone had nothing interesting to show, well it's good for my wallet.

Highlights from Wonfes: new Chitocerium; VI-Carbonia Adamas, new line of mecha musume figma with model kit parts, a competing line to Picco Neemo by Hon studio, another new 1/8 action figure line by Apex Innovation (seems quite rare these days, everyone moving to model kits due to cost) and two 1/12 model kits by Kotobukiya.

>>1479

Beastbox are cool, though I don't own any of them yet.

The animal robots with pilots are cute, bummer they're garage kits, and not mass produced toys. I like the red set more.

Yeah, I think it the result of the Trash Packs and TMNT 2012 success that brought back disgusting and slime toys to popularity.

>squishy girly toys in candy envelopes

Sounds familiar, yet I am not sure which toy line you talk about.

While I like slime gimmick for boys toys, in case of girl toys it's either don't have actual good play value or end up being disturbingly disgusting (girl toys are the real gross toys).

I am hoping they will make bigger one like they did with Bike Robo.

I still prefer the vintage toy over this tbh; the articulation is not amazing (no wrist swivel) and the transformation is stupidly complexed like TF. The whole point and advantage that Machine Robo had over TF was their simple transformation and lack of kibble.

No, these are vinyl dolls; they have inner hard plastic frame covered by soft~semi soft vinyl unlike BJDs which are held by an elastic and are usually made of resin. They tend to be clustered with BJD because Volks company makes these kind of dolls as well which enables them to get a pass by the elitists at Den Of Angels.

So is there really a toy/collectors fatigue going on? Was the death of Toys R Us a sign of the end times for /toy/fags? I mean its not just here, but even 4/toy/ is cucked and dying.

Toy s R Us still operates in Asia because they have good toys. The west has no good toys.

Not exactly, but the hobby is definitely not what it used to be; the rise in prices alongside the downgrade in quality, variety and poor distribution takes it's toll.

TRU stil exists in my country but it sort of died long before the USA brench bankruptcy as all the big stores got closed and even before that the variety started to suck.

I don't give a damn about the bling bag crap aspect, however the bigger alien filled with slime is quite cool and fun. It reminds of Ooze-it toy with it's gimmick.

No, they're playline bling bag crap.

4chan had only one thread about these and it barely reached 100 posts. As you can toll by based comment, it was created for the sake of shilling youtube channel that shall not be named.

I'm here. I got a Kikaida figure in April from a con. Limited articulation but looks fairly good. Kinda old. I like the wiring inside the head.
