Picked up the four different sets I could find yesterday. Loving that Destro. Has anyone opened either of the vehicle sets?

Yeah I have both of them
Hasbro shit the bed by making the vintage style VAMP II a SDCC exclusive. Nonetheless, the version we got is STILL pretty good.
The Night Landing Raft is passable. I mean,it's a raft. What you see in pictures is pretty much what you get. But the real draw is a better Cobra Eel that the 25th with arms and legs from the Retaliation Ninja Duel Snake-Eyes and the awesome weapon locker with a shitload of weapons
The only weak link is Flint, due to badly painted forearms. But overall this is a worthwhile set

The big draw to the arctic set is the Cobra Wolf. It's almost a straight up reissue of the vintage model, with foot pegs on the side that match the RAH vintage figure feet. The detatchable ski foot pegs ARE remolded to fit modern style figures.
The Skyhawk vehicle is a redeco of the 25th style. But the decos are really nice.
The Snake-Eyes that comes with it is really unimpressive. I mean Im okay with another SE figure, but this is one of the least impressive molds to re-use. The Ultimate or Ninja Duel SE from Retaliation would have been better. Maybe colored in animation colors from the Sunbow cartoon.
Id reccomend both sets. But mostly for the vehicles. Only the Cobra figures are worthwhile

>>100That Cobra Eel was pretty awesome. Has there ever been a bad Eel tho? For that matter has there ever been a bad viper?
You would think it would be hard to screw up snakeyes but look how many times they have screwed him up now over the years kek.

>>112Leave it to Hasbro to find new ways to screw Joe collectors over.
The SE in this set isn't really screwed up per se. I mean it's passable and all. It's more that they could have chosen a much better existing mold to use for his inclusion. Even the PoC Snake-Eyes would have been good in grey or again colored like the Sunbow animation model for the first miniseries
But Hasbro seems to be succeeding at what Cobra has failed to do for 32 years: Kill GI Joe

>>32I used to play with gi joe like crazy when I was a kid. I just let my autism go wild and went and bought some figures for the first time. I got the set that had beachhead, and the one with low light. I was amazed with how inflexible they seemed compared to the old toys from the late 80s/early 90s. Seemed incredibly stiff and inflexible in my hands.
But I guess they can pose. I guess they can pose. Might pick up some marvel figures tomorrow, hopefully they're smoother on the movement.
