ITT your /toy/ disappointments.

You see this guy here? How he's holding that axe in a way that no human ever would? It's because he can't move from that position. He can't bend his elbows. He can't move his torso. He can just barely move his wrists. And because of the way the leg joints are molded he can't sit down or even really crouch.

He's perfect for all your T-posing needs, and absolutely nothing else.

Thank you for starting a NECA General. Seriously they have made some of the most disappointing figures I have ever owned. In so many cases just a little extra effort or a different set of legs could have saved so many of their figures.

That's exactly how I feel. You'd think by now I'd know better, but every so often, they make a really nice-looking figure that I really want, so I buy it.

And I take it home, and try to pose it, and find that it can either stand up straight like a mannequin, or, maybe, be put in a crouch or sitting on a ledge. And that's it. Every other pose, the figure's legs give out or it's too unbalanced and topples over. For all that Neca's improved, they still seem to want to make sculptures instead of toys. It's frustrating.

I blame neca shit for their strong usage of that shitty soft plastic. The stuff is too heavy, and warps so easily. The only Neca collectors I know are by american friends who care less about quality and think dirty weathering paint job makes a figure instantly good.

>hear all these horror stories about NECA

>buy the red genocide xenomorph

>no joint stuck or warped parts

>more articulation than the revo and monsterarts xenos

>better sculpt and paintjob

Either I got extremely lucky or they have improved and most QC complaints are due to their lack of quality in older series/waves.

I got the Halo:CE Anniversary Chief. I liked the look and it's the only one with that design. But holy shit.

I mean there's 'articulation limited by sculpt' and then there's this. 28 points of articulation my ass.

>head up/down is a negligible amount

>barely moves at the shoulders

>elbows move ~45 degrees

>knees about 30 degrees

>clicky joints on ankle but knees are loose and floppy

>all joints hard to turn if they get flipped around the wrong way

>limbs don't seem to be removable

>why even have an ab crunch when it barely moves

>Halo 3 rifle

>holds the piece in front of the trigger with his thumb because no trigger finger

>have to force him to hold his gun because elbows can't bend

>tips over super easily

I mean holy shit all I can say is at least he looks cool.

This fucker.

Legends are known for gummy plastic, but this one was so terrible in that regard. His arms felt like they were gonna snap at the bicep and then they actually did.

Not to mention how hard he was to stand. What a disappointing mess he was.

That entire wave was so weak. Most legends waves as of late have been actually. Hasbro as a whole has been pretty poor with the line up until recently, even then most waves are hit or miss bordering mostly on miss. The cheaper plastic, less detailed paint work. I know toybiz weren't without their faults and all but how does a toy company keep finding a fine line balance between progression and regression in quality and walk it like a fine tightrope performer.

The only decent thing out of the year was the Hobgoblin wave and even then it was full of rehashes.

Hasbro and Marvel need to step up their games all around.

Honestly, I'd argue that the Rhino wave has some worthwhile things in it too, but you're not wrong. I want to complete the Hulkbuster, but I can't. Most of the wave just sucks.

That's the name of the game, though. I don't mind most reuse since comic heroes usually do just have the same body with different paint jobs but sometimes it can be inexcusable.

The only waves worth completing are the Hobgoblin wave, as you said, and the Rhino wave in my opinion. Next year is looking better in concept but execution can make or break it.
