From now to November, there is a likelihood that many current city and state politicians will be stepping down due to scandal, illness, and other reasons they refuse to specify. It's time to get our act together and fill those vacancies with Patriot Anons of Kekistan. If we fail to do this, they will just be filled with more swamp critters.

Many Patriot Anons meet their state/local legal and constitutional requirements to run for office, and have physical health and mental toughness to hold down these jobs. Most importantly, they have their values in the right place. I'd like for those Patriot Anons to give serious thought to running this autumn for a downballot position.

City councilman, comptroller, treasurer, auditor, commissioner of agriculture/labor/insurance etc., governor's and executive councils, boards of education…. these are the positions I'm talking about.

Other Patriot Anons don't meet the requirements for office, or are too old/sick or perhaps just don't have an aptitude for politics. That's no problem as these anons can still do much to help get their fellow anons elected.

Ever notice how anons always seem to flip those twatter polls? That's just an indication of the organizational strength of Kekistan. What was impossible for us to do in the 2018 elections will now be possible due to the cleansing effects of The Storm.

I am speaking mainly to U.S. Patriot Anons but if you're in Oz or the UK or Europe or elsewhere, there may well be something similar you could do in your country.

Normies are already starting to realize that anons had a lot of shit figured out long before the unwashed masses did. In their eyes, we are slowly morphing from wacko conspiracy theorists into something like wise counselors, learned sages, who knows, maybe even prophets.

Breaking Defense, a digital magazine that covers military issues, reports that Israel may ask for its U.S. aid early, possibly in a lump sum that could be as high as $7.6 billion.

This would work out to almost $21 million per day from American taxpayers, even though the U.S. is approaching a $4 trillion deficit (the largest in the world), and Israel typically has a lower unemployment rate than the United states.

The report is by Breaking Defense Israel correspondent Arie Egozi, an Israeli citizen who served in the Israeli military and is close to the Israeli security establishment.

Egozi’s article states that because of the coronavirus pandemic, “Israel’s Ministry of Defense and high command have hammered out an emergency plan for an appeal to Washington.”

The article, which carries a Tel Aviv dateline, reports: “Sources here say the COVID-19 pandemic is forcing Israel to ask Washington to make major changes to the [aid] agreement, including a request to receive the annual allocation $3.8 billion earlier than planned.”

U.S. aid to Israel is normally disbursed in October, in a lump sum that is deposited to an interest-bearing Israeli account in the New York Federal Reserve Bank. (Since the U.S. has been operating at a deficit, this means that the U.S. government borrows the money and pays interest on it long after it has gone out.)

Oil plunges 25%, extending recent losses as storage fills

U.S. oil prices plunged 25% on Monday on fears that worldwide storage will soon fill as the coronavirus pandemic continues to roil demand.

West Texas Intermediate for June delivery fell 25%, or $4.27, to trade at $12.71 per barrel, while international benchmark Brent crude traded 6.2% lower at $20.11 per barrel. Each contract is coming off its eighth week of losses in nine weeks.

WTI for July delivery fell more than 11% to $18.84 while the August contract slipped more than 7% to $22, suggesting the Street doesn’t see a meaningful recovery in the next few months. WTI, the U.S. benchmark, has fallen more than Brent as traders eye the quickly filling tanks at Cushing, Oklahoma, which is the nation’s largest storage facility apart from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It’s also where the contract is priced. U.S. stockpiles rose by 15 million barrels to 518.6 million barrels for the week ending April 17, according to the U.S. Energy Information Association.

At closely watched Cushing, oil in storage rose by about 10% in a week to 59.7 million barrels, about 25 million barrels shy of its capacity.

With prices at such depressed levels — WTI and Brent have dropped 72% and 68% this year, respectively — producers are struggling to breakeven. On Sunday, Houston-based Diamond Offshore Drilling filed for bankruptcy protection, and analysts say that more bankruptcies could be coming. Last Monday WTI plunged into negative territory for the first time in history as holders of the contract for May delivery — which was set to expire the next day — scrambled to sell their contract. But with oil demand not expected to recover anytime soon, and with nowhere to store oil, there was no buyer on the other side. In the end, the contract holders had to pay to have it taken off their hands.

And traders are saying the same fate could befall the June contract as it approaches expiration on May 19.

Albany, N.Y., Medical Center will host a lecture on bioterrorism on Friday at noon in the Wiggers Auditorium.

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the 2002 recipient of the Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research, will deliver the lecture.

Fauci was awarded the $500,000 prize this past April. The prize is made possible by New York City philanthropist and Troy, N.Y., native Morris "Marty" Silverman who made a $50 million gift to the Medical Center in 2000.

It is the second largest such prize in the world, after the Nobel Prize.

Parking for the lecture will be available in the Medical Center's Blue Lot.

Anthony Stephen Fauci was born in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Cornell University Medical College in 1966, he completed an internship and residency at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City and joined NIH in 1968.

Dr. Fauci was among the first to recognize that HIV lives in and destroys CD4 T cells, the cells entrusted with the duty to fight the virus. Later he found that HIV virus is active and replicating primarily in lymph nodes even during the clinically latent period. This finding published in Nature in 1993 was significant in at least two points: A, therapy should be given to patients all the time, even in latent periods; B, scientists became more realistic in dealings with the virus, aiming at long-term control of the virus instead of eradicating it.

Apart from his original contributions to science, Dr. Fauci demonstrated his passion and hardwork in helping AIDS patients, and skills in educating the public and politicians about the depth and scope of the AIDS epidemic and other health threats such as bioterrorism.

Abstract

Objective: The antimalarial medication hydroxychloroquine has been proposed as a thromboprotective agent in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but studies thus far have been limited by the possibility of confounding by indication. This study was conducted to assess whether exposure to antimalarial drugs is associated with a decrease in thrombovascular events (TEs) in patients with SLE.

Methods: The study was designed as a nested case-control study embedded in an inception cohort of patients with SLE, which allowed adjustments for possible confounding by calendar year, duration of disease, duration of observation, and severity of lupus. After controlling for the possible confounding variables in conditional logistic regression models, the use of antimalarial drugs was assessed for its effects on the development of TEs in lupus patients.

Results: Fifty-four cases of TE were identified, and these were matched with 108 control subjects (lupus patients without TEs). Univariate analyses identified older age (odds ratio [OR] 1.04, 95% confidence interval [95%CI] 1.01-1.07) or being older than age 50 years (OR 3.5, 95% CI 1.4-8.6) and ever having hypertension (OR 2.5, 95% CI 1.0-5.8) as being associated with an increased risk of TEs, whereas use of antimalarial drugs (OR 0.31, 95% CI 0.13-0.71) was associated with a decreased risk of TEs. Separate analyses were done for arterial and venous TEs, which yielded similar results. In multivariate analyses, use of antimalarial drugs (OR 0.32, 95% CI 0.14-0.74) and older age (OR 1.04, 95% CI 1.01-1.07) were the only 2 variables that remained significant.

Conclusion: The results from this nested case-control study demonstrate that, after accounting for the effects of disease severity, disease duration, and calendar year, antimalarial drugs were found to be thromboprotective, being associated with a 68% reduction in the risk of all TEs, with a range of risk reduction of at least 26% up to as high as 86%.
