It may be an exaggeration to call Pom Wonderful's founder, Lynda Resnick, the Forrest Gump of the American business world. But she does have a way of being part of events that capture the spirit of the age.
She was born in Baltimore – don't ask her when, but she's in her mid-60s – while her father was stationed at Fort Meade. She grew up in Philadelphia. As a child she did scripted stand-up comedy on "The Horn & Hardart Children's Hour," one of the live local variety shows that flourished in postwar America.
Her father, Jack Harris, was a movie distributor who wanted to make movies. In 1958, he made his first: "The Blob," now a cult classic. It is about an amoeba-like creature that comes to Earth in a meteor and proceeds to consume people in a small Pennsylvania town.
"The Blob" combined a growing fascination with space and the amorphous anxiety of the Cold War. It made a fortune, helped make Steve McQueen a star and allowed Harris to move his family to Southern California.
In her recently published book, "Rubies in the Orchard," Resnick explains that despite owning two Rolls-Royces, her father wouldn't pay for her to go to art school after she graduated from high school. She briefly attended community college, quit, opened her own advertising agency, got married and had two children.
By the fall of 1969, Resnick (then Lynda Sinay) was divorced and dating Anthony J. Russo, an engineer at the Rand Corp., a think tank in Santa Monica, Calif. He prevailed on her to allow him and a colleague, Daniel Ellsberg, to duplicate a large document using the Xerox 812 machine in her ad agency.
Starting the night of Oct. 1, Russo, Ellsberg and various helpers copied 7,000 pages of the government-ordered secret history of America's involvement in Vietnam: the Pentagon Papers.
After extracts of the Pentagon Papers were published by the New York Times in 1971 (and soon after by The Post and other newspapers), Ellsberg and Russo were arrested. Resnick was an unindicted co-conspirator and spent the next two years in and out of court: "a very dark time," she says. All charges against Ellsberg and Russo were dismissed in May 1973.
In 1985, Resnick and her second husband, Stewart Resnick, bought the Franklin Mint. They made a fortune essentially making toys for grown-ups: meticulously detailed model cars and dolls that nobody would let a child touch.
In 1996, Resnick paid $211,000 at auction for a string of fake pearls once owned by Jacqueline Kennedy. The Franklin Mint copied them and sold reproductions for $200 apiece, grossing $26 million, according to the book.
The couple bought Fiji Water in 2004. They increased their fortune (estimated to be about $1.3 billion) selling as an affordable luxury small bottles of artesian water from a volcanic paradise halfway around the world.
And now it's pomegranate juice, a boutique health drink.
Along the way, the Resnicks have become major philanthropists. They are giving more than $50 million in cash and art to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, paid for a neuropsychiatric hospital at UCLA, and have supported many educational and medical institutions in California's Central Valley, where their agricultural holdings are located.
They give each of their companies' employees $1,000 a year to give to charity and have contributed toward the college education of many employees' children.

But that's precisely the allegation levied against Fiji Water owners Lynda and Stewart Resnick whose bottled water company, in 2009, comprised roughly 20 percent of exports and three percent of GDP, $3,900 per capita of a country seized by an oppressive military junta. Fiji's population, according to Amnesty International, "is living in fear as a result of draconian measures implemented by the regime" where the Resnicks enjoy nearly exclusive access to the third world country's aquifer, tax-free status and untold millions in profits.
And if the military dictatorship isn't in the back pocket of the Resnicks, it sure acts like it is. When a Mother Jones reporter was in the country writing an expose on Fiji Water, she was snatched up by police from an internet cafe and detained. During her interrogation, an officer taunted and threatened her: "I'd hate to see a young lady like you go into a jail full of men" and "You know what happened to women during the 2000 coup, don't you?" He accused her of working for a competing bottled water company. "It would be good to come here and try to take away Fiji Water's business, wouldn't it?"

Osama Bin Laden had nothing to do with 9/11. He died on or about 15 December 2001 after first denouncing the attack as the work of others, and then offering to turn himself in for trial outside the USA (the Taliban offered to turn him over to the USA provided evidence was produced with respect to his alleged culpability, none was forthcoming).
The last months of Bin Laden’s life, July to December, are of world-historical importance. In July 2001 he was residing for a week in an American hospital in Dubai to treat his kidney trouble, as reported by the French paper Le Figaro. He had an operation on the 4th. This story was reported in Le Monde and the Guardian on the 1st of November but denied by the CIA yet also reported by John Snow on Channel 4 News. Snow first confirmed the story with the British doctor in Dubai who treated Bin Laden: source Martin Summers, of the London 9/11 Sceptics and he there met CIA station chief Larry Mitchell on 12th of July. Many members of the Bin Laden family came to visit him – ‘There goes the story that he’s a black sheep!’ was Mike Ruppert’s laconic comment. He flew off on the 14th in a private jet. We do not hear about Bin Laden him again until September 10th, when he reappears in a military hospital in Rawalpindi in Pakistan – with some military protection – again for kidney dialysis (Nafeez Ahmed, The War on Freedom, How and Why America was Attacked September 11, 2001, 2002, p.223; Thierry Meyssian, 9/11 The big Lie, 2002, p. 107.)
On September 12th a Pakistani newspaper reported OBL’s first denial that he had been involved in the event of 9/11, then on the 16th OBL’s assistant Abdul Samad faxed a message to the Afghan Islamic Press (in Islamabad, Pakistan) that was broadcast by al-Jazeera in Qatar. In it OBL declared, ‘I categorically state that I have not done this,’ adding that he had an agreement with Mohammed Omar, chief Mullah of the Taliban in Afghanistan, that prohibited his involvement in such political activity. A week later, on 22nd September, he gave a longer set of replies to questions from the Pakistani newspaper ‘Ummaut’:
“I was not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States nor did I have knowledge of the attacks. There exists a government within a government within the United States. The United States should try to trace the perpetrators of these attacks within itself; to the people who want to make the present century a century of conflict between Islam and Christianity. That secret government must be asked as to who carried out the attacks…. The American system is totally in the control of the Jews, whose first priority is Israel, not the United States … I have already said that we are not hostile to the United States. We are against the system, which makes other nations slaves of the United States, or forces them to mortgage their political and economic freedom.”
It is my view that the designation by US intelligence of Osama Bin Laden as the culprit is completely fabricated – as fabricated as the current US intelligence claims that the Russians hacked the election – and that this is one of many elements that a new independent investigation could address.

Documents Reveal Steele Was Admonished in February, 2016
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today the FBI turned over 70 pages of heavily redacted records about Christopher Steele, the former British spy, hired with Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee funds, who authored the infamous Dossier targeting President Trump during last year’s presidential campaign. The documents show that Steele was cut off as a “Confidential Human Source” (CHS) after he disclosed his relationship with the FBI to a third party. The documents show at least 11 FBI payments to Steele in 2016 and document that he was admonished for unknown reasons in February, 2016. The documents were turned over in response to Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice for records of communications and payments between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele and his private firm, Orbis Business Intelligence (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:17-cv-00916)).
The documents include a “source closing communication” that states that Steele (referred to as “CHS” or Confidential Human Source) “is being closed” because:
CHS confirmed to an outside third party that CHS has a confidential relationship with the FBI. CHS was used as a source for an online article. In the article, CHS revealed CHS’ relationship with the FBI as well as information that CHS obtained and provided to FBI. On November 1, 2016, CHS confirmed all of this to the handling agent. At that time, handling agent advised CHS that the nature of the relationship between the FBI and CHS would change completely and that it was unlikely that the FBI would continue a relationship with the CHS. Additionally, handling agent advised that CHS was not to operate to obtain any intelligence whatsoever on behalf of the FBI.
The documents also show that Steele was paid repeatedly by the FBI and was “admonished” for some unknown misconduct in February, 2016. The documents include:

Thirteen (13) FD-209a, Contact Reports.
Eleven (11) FD-794b, Payment Requests. (It appears Steele was paid money eleven of the thirteen times he met with the FBI and gave them information.)
An Electronic Communication (EC) documenting that on February 2, 2016, Steele was admonished in accordance with the Justice Department guidelines and the FBI CHS Policy Manual.
The documents were obtained as a result of a lawsuit was filed after the Department of Justice failed to respond to a March 8, 2017, FOIA request seeking:
All records of communications between any official, employee, or representative of the FBI and Mr. Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer and the owner of the private firm Orbis Business Intelligence.

Sorting through all the misdirection and outright lies has been a challenge but if private citizens can accomplish so much on their own, the Government can do so much more.

President Trump’s Job Boom Is Benefiting Democrat Counties
You would think they’d be slightly more grateful. While Democrat politicians continue to decimate their own strongholds such as Detroit, San Francisco, Baltimore, etc., it is a Republican President who is bringing jobs back to similar areas. The United States is on pace to create 2.6 million jobs during President Trump’s second year in office, and a good bulk of those jobs are popping up in areas that supported Hillary Clinton.
According to an Associated Press analysis, 58.5 percent of those jobs were in counties that bleed Democrat blue. Maybe they’ll get together and say “Thanks Trump!” for all of his economic support. By the same token, of those areas losing jobs, counties in which President Trump received the most support are taking a harder hit than the Clinton-backed counties. According to the AP report, “35.4 percent of Trump counties have shed jobs in the past year, compared with just 19.2 percent of Clinton counties.” Recall if you will, Clinton, prior to the election, asserted that Trump’s economic plan, including tax cuts, “has been analyzed to conclude it might lose 3.5 million jobs.”

Keith Rothfus believes the economy will be a driving motivator in the November midterms. “I think you look at the choice we have: Do we want to have more government and higher taxes or more jobs and higher wages?” he said. “That’s a pretty compelling argument.”
