Gub-mint resident Biden doesn't send me what was supposed to be my last plandemic check of $1,400 and gives it to a heinous terror killer, who should of been dead yesterday, instead. Then the weaponized IRS me up with a $900 tax on $600 debt from 7yrs ago that ballooned into $6,000 by the third party collection agency that was gracious enough to "give" me at one point in time. How much is the Governments take on interest inflated forgiven corporate debt? Their numbers make it to where the government tax will end up higher than the original corp. debt owed. The co-ops punishment for not paying up. Their is a whole industry based on reducing unpaid tax dept. It's the government giving back to the corporations. The governments debt collector. You see, the corp-gov co-op has each others back. The co-op will get their money one way or the other since they are one entity. The laws written are for corporations who co-operate with government, to the bennifit of the big club(see George Carlin.) They even collude together with big tech to silence the truth(see Dinesh D’Souza big lawsuit.) The corp-gov-co-op has a manual of who to call to get something banned on social media. Bypassing the 1st amendment alltogether. All while government sends out foreign aid with kickbacks to their piggy bank foundations where the corp media mouth helps to cover it all up. Do you see where you fit in now? Which hill will you die on before you own nothing and be their definition of happy(see Klaus Schwab?) Their curve will never flatten. Better duck-n-cover and man your foxhole now. Call your reps. Stand up to city government. Get in the schrool(shoutout Rush) boards face.. Call out the bullshit propaganda they are going along with. Get involved again. We were all taught to stay uninvolved and yell back-n-forth to each other and not at them as they silently changed the laws on us. Let's get back to where any government works for the people and pull the corperate tentacles out of political spines.

The U.S. Directed Rebellion in Kazakhstan May Well Strengthen Russia
In early2019 the Pentagon financed think tank RAND published an extensive plan for soft attacks on Russia.
Extending Russia: Competing from Advantageous Ground.
The 350 pages long report recommended certain steps to be taken by the U.S. to contain Russia. As its summary says:
Recognizing that some level of competition with Russia is inevitable, this report seeks to define areas where the United States can do so to its advantage. We examine a range of nonviolent measures that could exploit Russia’s actual vulnerabilities and anxieties as a way of stressing Russia’s military and economy and the regime’s political standing at home and abroad. The steps we examine would not have either defense or deterrence as their prime purpose, although they might contribute to both. QAnon Star Who Said Only ‘Idiots’ Get Vax Dies of COVID

A leading QAnon promoter who urged both her followers and strangers she passed on the street not to take the COVID vaccine died Thursday of the coronavirus, making her just the latest vaccine opponent killed by the disease.
Cirsten Weldon had amassed tens of thousands of followers across right-wing social media networks by promoting the pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy under the screenname “CirstenW.” She was prominent enough to become a sort of QAnon interpreter for comedian conspiracy theorist Roseanne Barr and started recording videos about QAnon with her.
Weldon focused on attacking vaccines and other efforts to fight COVID-19, saying in one video that Dr. Anthony Fauci “needs to be hung from a rope.” She claimed the vaccine killed people and even recorded herself yelling at people standing in line to receive vaccines.
“The vaccines kill, don’t get it!” Weldon warned the waiting vaccine recipients in an undated video posted to one of her online accounts. “This is how gullible these idiots are. They’re all getting vaccine!”
In late December, however, Weldon started showing symptoms of coronavirus infection. In her last video, posted on Dec. 28, Weldon struggled through her remarks about the coming overthrow of the United States government, coughing and complaining that she was exhausted.
Three days later, Weldon was hospitalized in Camarillo, California. She posted a picture of herself wearing an oxygen mask to Instagram and claimed she had “bacterial pneumonia.” Weldon wrote in a post on the social media network Telegram that she refused to take coronavirus treatment remdesivir, calling it “Dr Fauci’s Resmedervir (sic).”
Weldon’s death from COVID is just the latest instance of a far-right personality who opposed vaccination being killed by the virus. On Jan. 3, radio host Doug Kuzma died while infected with the coronavirus. In August, QAnon promoter Robert David Steele died of the virus shortly after posting a picture of himself in an oxygen mask and vowing to still refuse the vaccine.
In September, a QAnon follower named Veronica Wolski became a cause celebre in QAnon circles after she was hospitalized with the coronavirus. QAnon fans besieged the hospital with phone calls demanding that Wolski receive ivermectin, the deworming drug used by some as an unproven coronavirus treatment. Wolski died of the disease later that month.
In the face of these deaths, their surviving friends and supporters have started to allege that the dead QAnon figures are being murdered, either because they were refused internet folk remedies like ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine, or because they were killed by the deep-state to cover up their conspiracy theories. In December, Kuzma and a number of other conspiracy theorists were sickened with COVID-like symptoms after appearing together at a conference. Rather than acknowledge that they had COVID, the far-right influencers suggested they had been targeted by an anthrax attack.
After Weldon’s death, her QAnon allies threatened to pursue violent action against staff at the hospital where she died. Scott McKay, a QAnon personality known as the “Patriot Streetfighter,” said he would publicize the names of doctors and nurses involved in treating Weldon, saying he wanted to “put the fear into these medical professionals” in a Telegram post. McKay proposed the hospital staff be sentenced to death, or be murdered in vigilante violence.
“If it’s not done in a military tribunal then it’s going to be done in the street eventually and not to my wishes,” McKay wrote. “That’s my greatest fear. But if it’s necessary, it’s going to be necessary.”

JTA — The Jewish community of Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, has shut down its activities as most of its members hunker down in their homes amid a wave of bloody protests in the central Asian nation.
Dozens of protesters and 18 police officers have been killed in the violence, which began Sunday and prompted a Russian-led coalition of states to deploy troops to Kazakhstan to quell the fighting.
The protests began over an increase in fuel prices but have become more broadly directed against the autocratic rule of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Rioters have torched the facade of the presidential palace and looted stores throughout Almaty, where most of Kazakhstan’s Jews live.
Yeshaya Cohen, the chief rabbi of Kazakhstan who is affiliated with the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, said the country’s Jews are sitting out the conflict, both physically and politically, by staying indoors “until the forces maintaining order stabilize the situation,” he told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency on Friday.
There are eight synagogues in Kazakhstan, of which at least three host activities weekly or daily. All have suspended their activities so as not to endanger congregants, Cohen said. But funerals, of which there was one Friday, and other urgent activities are taking place. Jews and their property have not been harmed in the unrest, according to Cohen.
The Beit Menachem synagogue and Jewish community center, Almaty’s largest Jewish hub, is situated outside the city center, which “probably plays in favor of the community,” said Russian Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, as most of the violence is happening in the center.
Zeev Levin, head of the Bukharian Jews research unit at Jerusalem’s Yad Ben Zvi Institute and an expert on Central Asia, said the risk of attacks on Jews or Jewish heritage sites in Almaty throughout the ongoing unrest is low to nonexistent. Rates of antisemitism during peacetime are also low in Kazakhstan.
”Even throughout the most vicious of civil wars that have ripped Central Asian republics in recent decades, Jewish heritage sites were largely left alone,” Levin said.
Kazakhstan, a predominantly Muslim nation of 19 million people and a land area roughly four times the size of Texas, harbors significant mineral resources, including about three percent of the world’s known oil reserves and major deposits of coal and natural gas.
It is home to a few thousand Jews, according to the World Jewish Congress.

The Taliban is making it very clear it does not want any American presence in Afghanistan. Additionally the Taliban made it very clear suicide bombers will be part of their special forces in the Afghan National Army under the defense ministry.

Feds: FBI informant tried to help the Whitmer kidnap plot suspects
The feds caught a rat.
According to an explosive new court filing, a rogue undercover informant was a double agent, secretly trying to help the Gretchen Whitmer kidnap plot suspects snatch the governor, tipped one man off that the feds were onto the group, and tried to thwart their arrests and continue the scheme. This same informant offered to use a drone to carry out domestic terrorism acts, records show, and use charity funds to pay for attacks.
But the feds caught on to him and booted him from the case. He was known as Steve, one of four rogue actors in the Whitmer investigation who have been kicked off the case over misdeeds that the defense hopes to use to derail the government's case at trial in March.
"Steve was a 'double agent,' often working against the interests of the government," federal prosecutors disclosed in a Thursday court filing.
"Steve attempted to obstruct the defendants’ arrest and continue the kidnapping plot," the filing states, adding Steve also defied the instructions of his FBI handlers.
"Steve contacted at least one of the defendants shortly before their arrest and said he had been stopped by the feds," prosecutors wrote, alleging the informant also took measures to cover up his own acts.
After contacting one of the defendants, prosecutors said, Steve contacted another informant — not knowing they were an informant — and asked them to "delete the in-car recording of the surveillance of the governor's home."
"Steve told the informant that he would act as the leader in coordinating attacks in multiple states going forward," prosecutors added, noting that never happened. Steve got fired from the case and wound up getting criminally charged and convicted of being a felon in possession.
"Because (informant) Steve’s actions were so far outside the bounds of the cooperation agreement, it was terminated," wrote prosecutors, who are trying to keep any comments Steve made during the investigation out of the trial.
"As with all informants, before cooperating with the FBI, he agreed to a number of rules and terms. Those included following agent direction, not committing unsanctioned crimes, candid disclosure to his handling agents, and others … Steve violated those rules, ending his cooperation and relationship with the FBI," prosecutors wrote. "Steve also failed to record, and to disclose, the presence of existing recordings of pertinent conversations and events."

Iran exporting heavy water to eight countries
A spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behruz Kamalvandi said Iran is capable of meeting its own needs for heavy water productions and even exports it to about eight world states.
There has been no stop in heavy water production in the country, Kamalvandi said in a TV program on Monday evening.
Iran has made good progress in heavy water production, the AEOI spokesman said, stressing that Iran’s nuclear industry development is unstoppable.
To preserve the nuclear industry, numerous talks have already been held resulting in the removal of many problems, so that “we should not let country’s nuclear industry get damaged,” the nuclear official noted.
Iran should have nuclear power plants, produce fuel for those plants and meet the country’s need for radio-drugs through manufacturing them inside the country, Kamalvandi underlined.
In the nuclear industry, the official pointed out, Iran is after providing nuclear power plants with fuel to stand on “our own feet” if they did not give it to the country for two years.
In the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), “we had ten-year or eight-year restrictions, but they will be removed with pass of time and we’ll face no restrictions in the tenth year,” he underlined.
After the implementation of the July 2015 nuclear deal, formally know as the JCPOA, Iran was to join big global nuclear bodies, he said, adding that the country could take due measures to do so despite the US unilateral withdrawal from the international deal.
After signing the JCPOA, some world countries were after making investments in the Iranian nuclear industry, but the investment failed to materialize because of the US sabotage, he stated.
He went on to say that JCPOA was Iran’s first great global experience that could untie the knots.
Iran and the six world powers- US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany- reached a landmark nuclear agreement on July 14, 2015.
Meanwhile, the outgoing US President Donald Trump did leave the deal in May 2018 and imposed the highest level of sanctions, as he claimed, against Iran in November the same year.
Many world leaders criticized Trump for his anti-Iran move.

Man With Explosive Device Arrested Running From Florida January 6 Rally (Antifa? Dressed in Black, Recently Returned from Portland)
The Pinellas County Florida Sheriff announced Friday that a man dressed all in black, wearing a black face covering and carrying a black backpack with an explosive device in it was arrested Thursday night after running from a rally being held to protest the detention of a man on a federal charge related to the January 6 riot at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. The sheriff said the bomb was apparently packed with nails and that another similar suspected nail pipe bomb and “hand grenade type devices” were found at the home where he lives with his parents. A search of the area found no explosives–apparently the suspect fled without trying to employ the device though several M-80s were found in his car parked nearby. The sheriff said the suspect’s intent is not known at this time, he is not talking and is being held on $300,000 bond.
Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told reporters the man arrested with the bomb, 22-year-old Garrett Smith, has a clean record, describing him as a “sleeper” with no arrests and no apparent social media presence but that he had recently been in Portland, Oregon and a helmet with logos seen at protests in Portland but the sheriff was not sure if he was Antifa or on the other side. The sheriff said Smith was not cooperating but had a “direct action checklist” on him listing clothing, body protection to wear and a long list of gear to carry including a laser pointer, flammable rags and pepper spray.

In his annual news conference, Putin used an unrelated question posed by Kazakhstan TV last month to remind his audience that “Kazakhstan is a Russian-speaking country in the full sense of the word.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov charged that xenophobia had sparked several attacks on Russian speakers in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan shares a 6,846-kilometre-long border with Russia, which is the world’s second-longest frontier. The country hosts a Russian minority that accounts for 20 percent of the population. Ethnic Russians carry their empathy for the motherland on their sleeves.
Dariga Nazabayeva, a member of the Kazakh parliament and daughter of former president Nursultan Nazarbayev, who has a close relationship with Putin, shot back that “cases of xenophobia sometimes occur in Russia too.” Putin demonstrated his friendship with Nazarbayev when he sent doctors to treat the former Kazakh leader after he was infected by Covid-19. In recent years, some far-right, ultra-nationalist ideologues have been calling for the return of Russian rule to Central Asia, and the carving up of Kazakhstan.

The Republic of Kazakhstan is currently celebrating its 30th year of independence, after parting ways with the USSR. On this occasion, Israel is also celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Many of us think about Kazakhstan as one of the countries that in the past was an integral part of Motherland Russia. At best, many Israelis see Kazakhstan as a tourist destination that they might one day visit after they’ve exhausted all the other more popular and familiar options. Such an image, however, does this country a grave injustice. One is a small country, while the other is huge. Nineteen million people live in Kazakhstan, and it is one of the least populated countries that was formerly part of the former Russian empire. Covering over 2.7 million sq.km., Kazakhstan is almost as large as all of Europe – an entire world all on its own. Kazakhstan shares a 6,500 km. border with Russia, a 1,500 km. border with China, a 2,300 km. border with Uzbekistan, and a 1,000 km. border with Kyrgyzstan.
This vast area is 140 times as large as the State of Israel and is home to thousands of streams and rivers, seven of which are over 1,000 km. long, as well as 48,000 lakes. The country is rich in natural resources, which are almost unlimited. It has within its borders billions of tons of oil and over 1.8 trillion cu.m. of natural gas. Moreover, 20% of the earth’s uranium reserves are located in Kazakhstan. These statistics are undoubtedly impressive and excite the imagination, and yet they fail to offer a clear picture of this country, the lifestyle of its population and its status vis-à-vis Asia, Europe, and to a large extent the rest of the world. It certainly does not reflect the potential relationship it could have with the State of Israel. From Kazakhstan’s first day as an independent state, the person who is rightly considered the father of the nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was intent on establishing full and intensive diplomatic relations with Israel. This relationship has only grown stronger over the years. The hand of Nazarbayev, who served longer than any other head of state of the other former Soviet republics, is evident in almost every aspect of this relationship. There still remains tremendous potential for the two countries to reach full economic cooperation in the areas of technological and agricultural development, as well as in many other areas. This is the challenge these two countries will be facing for the foreseeable future.
In contrast with leaders of other neighboring countries, and although his regime in Kazakhstan was completely stable, president Nazarbayev resigned a couple of years ago, and was replaced by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. It’s true, Kazakhstan’s political structure might not resemble the democratic model that is normally found in Western countries; however, the country does enjoy impressive internal calmness and social stability, which has enabled it to become an economic power. Most importantly, it has shown a desire to join the global community and to be a tolerant country striving for progress, accelerated modernity, and an improved quality of life for its citizens. The most obvious example of this effort is Kazakhstan’s capital city, formerly called Astana and whose name was recently changed to Nur-Sultan, after the country’s first president who ruled Kazakhstan from its creation.
IN TERMS of political rules of the game, some might turn a blind eye to the lack of more aggressive political competition in Kazakhstan. Someone who compares it with the political culture in Israel, or with other countries that were part of the Soviet Union, might not necessarily like the dominant role Nazarbayev played. There still remains tremendous potential for the two countries to reach full economic cooperation in the areas of technological and agricultural development, as well as in many other areas.

NSO Spyware Found on Activists’ Phones in Kazakhstan

The phones of at least four activists who are critical of their government in Kazakhstan were found to have been infected with software developed by Israeli spyware firm NSO Group, a forensic analysis by Amnesty International’s Security Lab said Thursday. Three of the four had received prior warning from Apple at the end of November that their iPhones could have been infected by a “state-sponsored attacker.” NSO’s clients are usually state intelligence agencies from around the world. An NSO spokesperson told Haaretz that as “Amnesty chose to publish accusations in the media, rather than provide us with the information for the purpose of thorough investigations … we cannot refer to an alleged report we have not seen, published by an organization that has been known for publishing false accusations against NSO.”
Over the summer, an international consortium of journalists, led by Paris-based NGO Forbidden Stories in collaboration with Amnesty International’s Security Lab, published a major investigation into a leak of 50,000 potential targets selected for possible snooping by NSO’s clients. Reports at the time said that up to 2,000 of them were linked to Kazakhstan, with potential targets including a former prime minister and current President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Tokayev became president of the Central Asian country in 2019 after being named the successor of strongman Nursultan Nazarbayev, who nominally resigned after almost three decades’ rule. Nazarbayev still retains key leadership roles and remains head of the country’s security council, maintaining what Reuters terms ”sweeping powers.” According to Amnesty International’s Security Lab, the four devices were “infected from as early as June 2021” – just as the global investigation, which Haaretz was a part of, was being published.
Amnesty’s lab examined nine phones in all, and four were found to have been infected. The victims belong to a progressive civil society group called “Wake up, Kazakhstan” (“Oyan, Qazaqstan”) and their phones were “infected with the spyware between 3 and 5 June 2021,” Amnesty stated. It added that the “surveillance campaign continued until at least July 2021.”
Apple began notifying victims at the end of November that their phones may have been compromised. Three of the four targets had received such messages but the fourth had not, indicating that there may be additional victims in Kazakhstan. The notifications followed news that the U.S.-based tech giant had filed a lawsuit against NSO, accusing it of helping its clients break into Apple’s mobile software, iOS, through an “exploit” of its iMessage service. Last week, Reuters and others reported that anywhere between nine and 11 U.S. State Department officials working in Uganda and using non-U.S. phone numbers were also targeted. NSO has recently been blacklisted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, along with another Israeli cyberware firm called Candiru. NSO was likely placed on the U.S. blacklist because its software was allegedly used by one of its clients to target the U.S. officials.
Historically, some of its best-known clients have included Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Mexico. Israel’s Defense Ministry must approve export licenses for NSO – which has close ties to Israel’s defense and intelligence communities – in order for it to sell its technology globally. In a statement given to Reuters, the Israeli Embassy in Washington said the targeting of U.S. officials would be a serious breach of its rules. “Cyber products like the one mentioned are supervised and licensed to be exported to governments only for purposes related to counterterrorism and severe crimes,” an embassy spokesperson said. “The licensing provisions are very clear and if these claims are true, it is a severe violation of these provisions.” Kazakhstan is in the midst of a crackdown on social media, claiming recently that it had reached a deal with Facebook’s Meta to allow it to take down posts. Meta denied the claim, which came as the country advanced “data localization” legislation that would allow such actions.

Modern life falls apart without an internet connection.
Kazakhs woke on January 8 to find themselves, for the fourth straight day, cut off from the world. Without an internet connection – essential there, too, for modern services, including paying for goods – many were also beginning to run out of food. Around 95 percent of internet users in Kazakhstan have been unable for the most part to get online since January 5, according to NetBlocks, a data provider. KazakhTelecom, the state-owned telecommunication giant, began throttling access on January 4 amid nationwide protests that began over fuel prices and quickly swept a nation with longstanding grievances about inequality and corruption. The worst hit city is Almaty, epicenter of a violent government crackdown that has left dozens dead. Yet even there, several customers of the Russia-owned Beeline mobile service reported they could get online at times, and many sites are blocked. Telephone connections come and go, though data and cellular connections appear to be better in western Kazakhstan, which has been spared the violence. Even many government websites have been forced offline. Many Kazakhs do their daily shopping with debit cards. These were often rendered useless by the outage because payment terminals depend on internet connections. By the end of the week, long lines were forming at ATM machines in Almaty, Nur-Sultan and Aktau as residents sought cash to procure staples. Nurserik Zholbarys, a resident of Nur-Sultan, told Eurasianet that he stood over 30 minutes in a line to withdraw 10,000 tenge ($23) from a SberBank ATM machine in Nur-Sultan’s fashionable Esyl district. This is the daily limit imposed on those who can find a working ATM: The National Bank suspended commercial bank services on January 6; some fear they will not be available again until the state of emergency is lifted. Lada.kz, a media outlet in the western city of Aktau, also reports long lines for bank machines. “Most ATMs have run out of cash,” the outlet said on its Telegram channel on January 7, pointing residents to one functioning ATM at a Halyk Bank.
A Nur-Sultan-based economist said the 10,000 tenge limit is effective in that it helps commercial banks avoid panic withdrawals. “The internet outage showed how the nation’s economy wholly depends on it. Cashless payments went down, food supply chains were disrupted, long lines formed in supermarkets. It has sent our society back to the early 2000s,” the economist said just before his connection died, and before Eurasianet could ask permission to print his name. Kultegin Aspanuly, an Orda.kz reporter in Aktau, a city of 180,000, told Eurasianet that residents are helping each other out. “Store owners understand that people have money in their bank accounts, but have issues with withdrawals. So, they are giving out food essentials based on trust that customers will pay later when commercial bank services are restored,” Aspanuly said. Residents of Almaty report difficulty finding food as periodic bursts of gunfire continue to ring out in the city of 1.8 million, Kazakhstan’s largest. “People are buying more food than usual to stock up for possible worse upcoming days. Bread shortages mean one per person,” Doskhan Zhylkybay, a graduate student at Almaty’s Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, told Eurasianet via the Instagram messenger. Though the protests that have shaken Kazakhstan more than any event since the fall of the Soviet Union began this week in nearby Zhanaozen, the surrounding Mangistau region saw mostly peaceful and well-organized rallies. Protesters are still standing in central squares demanding political reforms, while bigger cities like Almaty, Shymkent and Kyzylorda have seen provocative destruction, looting and bloody confrontations with security services.
In a defiant televised address on January 7 in which he ordered security forces “to shoot to kill without warning” and blamed unnamed foreign terrorists for the unrest, without providing evidence, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev promised to lift the internet restrictions. “As the situation is stabilizing, I have decided to turn on the internet in some regions of the country at certain time intervals. This decision, I am sure, will have a positive effect on the life of our citizens,” Tokayev said. That did little to ease worries among Kazakhstanis in the West, who are concerned that, with the internet out, their loved ones didn’t hear his warning that they could be gunned down in the street.

The Kazakhstan Crisis: A View From Kyrgyzstan
It is the fifth day since protests began in Kazakhstan, turning violent in recent days while the government shut down the internet. Here in neighboring Kyrgyzstan, meanwhile, people have actively expressed their concerns about the crisis next door on various social networks. The mood is as if the unrest were happening here. People are quite emotional in voicing their support for our neighbors, whom we see as a brother nation. Therefore, the news that the Kyrgyz army would participate in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) coalition to support Kazakh government forces to fight against what they have labeled “foreign terrorists” was immediately and widely condemned.
People in Kyrgyzstan began signing a petition against participating and a number of activists protested in front of the main government buildings in the capital, Bishkek. Kyrgyz also worry that participating in the CSTO mission may cause a rift between two neighbor nations. They called on the president and the parliament not to send Kyrgyz soldiers to support the corrupt Kazakh dictatorship against its people. They see the CSTO a weapon of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with which Russia can fight proxy wars to strengthen dictatorships in the former-Soviet satellite states. Kyrgyz also note that the CSTO rejected Bishkek’s requests for support during the inter-ethnic clashes in 2010 and when the Tajik army attacked Kyrgyz civilians in bordering villages last year. Activist lawyers point out that the CSTO’s mandate to intervene is aimed at situations in which there is an act of aggression by a foreign state, which is clearly not the case now.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, however, made his request for the CSTO intervention claiming that the country was not just experiencing domestic social unrest but an act of aggression by “foreign terrorists.” On January 7, the Kyrgyz parliament approved President Sadyr Japarov’s proposal to send Kyrgyz troops as part of the CSTO coalition to Kazakhstan. The president may feel obliged to do so, as he understands that his own country is notorious for its numerous revolutions. Revolutions and protests have overthrown three Kyrgyz presidents in 30 years and Japarov must know that he may well face the same fate. As such, he may hope that by supporting the CSTO intervention today in Kazakhstan, he is securing similar CSTO support for himself in the future.
Meanwhile, for Russia, the Kazakhstan crisis is an opportunity to flex its muscles ahead of talks on Ukraine next week with Western leaders. It is also a chance to strengthen the role of the CSTO, as this will be the organization’s first military intervention. Until now, the CSTO has mostly been a symbolic anti-Western body without much weight in the international arena. The Kazakhstan crisis is thus a model demonstrating how Russia can quickly mobilize forces if the regimes favored by Moscow are under threat.

The main tasks of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces will be the protection of important state and military facilities, assistance to the law enforcement forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field.
From the Russian Federation, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces include units and military units of the Airborne Troops.
At present the Russian part of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is being redeployed to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by planes of the military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The advanced units of the contingent have already begun to carry out their assigned tasks.
