Teneo, the New York consultancy firm cofounded by Irish executive Declan Kelly, promoted his ability to “secure” money from the American Ireland Fund (AIF) for the Clinton Foundation, it has been claimed in a leaked email.

Details of the consultancy firm’s connections with the Clintons were revealed in a memo that surfaced in the latest tranche of leaked emails belonging to John Podesta, campaign chairman for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton that appeared on the anti-secrecy website, Wikileaks.

The ongoing leaked emails have unveiled new insights into the dispute dating back to November 2011 between Chelsea Clinton, daughter of the Democratic candidate, and Doug Band, a cofounder of Teneo, over her concerns that the firm was “hustling business” at the Clinton Foundation’s charitable events.

The dispute led to a review of whether Teneo’s commercial interests were becoming too mixed up with the foundation, Mr Clinton’s activities and his for-profit business.

Mr Band sent a memo to Mr Podesta, who was trying to mediate in his dispute with Ms Clinton, to clarify his and Teneo’s past role in fundraising for the Clinton charity. The document highlights how Mr Kelly had directed funds both to the foundation and encouraged Teneo’s high-profile corporate clients to pay the former US president millions of dollars for paid speeches and offer the use of a private plane.

Past donations

The November 16th, 2011 memo was prepared for two lawyers at New York law firm Simpson Thacher, which carried out a review of the Clinton Foundation and its relationship with affiliates. It was copied to Mr Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Mr Podesta and two Clinton Foundation board members.

The memo – under one heading “Leveraging Teneo for the Foundation” – outlines how Mr Kelly and Mr Band encouraged Teneo’s clients to contribute to the foundation. It references millions of dollars in past donations to the foundation and fees to Mr Clinton for speeches paid by Teneo clients including the Coca-Cola Company, the Dow Chemical Company, Swiss bank UBS and telecom firm Ericsson.

Mr Band says in the memo that Mr Kelly, a trustee of the American Ireland Fund, a charity set up for Irish causes,“urged and ensured” that the fund was “a significant donor to the foundation.”

“Mr Kelly has successfully secured $350,000 to date,” he wrote. “Mr Kelly also will continue giving in the coming years as well through the AIF.”

Peace process

The memo notes that Mr Kelly introduced Bob McCann, head of UBS Wealth Management, to Mr Clinton at an American Ireland Fund event in 2009 and that Mr Kelly later asked Mr McCann to support the foundation and invited Mr Clinton to give paid speeches worth $900,000 in fees to the former president.

A spokesperson for the fund said that the charity supported the Clinton Foundation because of the former president’s central role in the Northern Ireland peace process, his ongoing involvement in Northern Ireland and his support for continued investment in Ireland following the economic crash.

On Mr Kelly’s involvement in the fund’s grants to the Clinton Foundation, the spokesperson said: “No individual determines where our grants go. Every single grant is subject to the approval of our board.”

Mr Kelly has not been involved in the American Ireland Fund since 2014 when he lost out to New York hotelier John Fitzpatrick in a highly charged race to become chairman of the philanthropic organisation.

The fund has donated between $500,000 and $1 million to the Clinton Foundation, according to the Clinton charity’s records.

Sotomayor recuses herself from case on 'faithless electors'

is recusing herself from a Supreme Court case over the issue of “faithless electors” — Electoral College representatives who disregard the will of voters in presidential elections — because of her friendship with one of the parties involved in the lawsuit.

The clerk of the court informed the parties of the move on Tuesday.

“The Justice believes that her impartiality might reasonably be questioned due to her friendship with respondent Polly Baca,” the clerk, Scott Harris, wrote in a brief letter. “The initial conflict check conducted in Justice Sotomayor’s Chambers did not identify this potential conflict.”

Baca is one of the lead plaintiffs in a lawsuit that sought to block the enforcement of a Colorado law that allows faithless electors to be removed from their positions.

In January, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case and consolidated it with a similar one that originated in Washington State. On Tuesday, the court announced that the two lawsuits would no longer be consolidated and Sotomayor would still participate in the case out of Washington.

The relationship between Baca, a former Democratic state legislator, and Sotomayor is well-documented. According to the Denver Post, Baca sat in the front row during the justice’s Senate confirmation hearings in 2009 and called her shortly after confirmation vote.

“We’re all excited about your nomination and confirmation,” Baca said on the call. “We wanted you to know how proud and honored we are.”

“Polly, you know how much I love you, and how much I love your senators, who both voted for me,” Sotomayor responded.

Colorado is appealing a circuit court ruling that sided with the electors. The two cases will allow the Supreme Court to decide whether it is constitutional for states to impose laws on their Electoral College delegates.

Oral arguments will be held on April 28.

Disposition Matrix

The Disposition Matrix, informally known as a kill list, is a database of information for tracking, capturing, "rendering", or killing suspected enemies of the United States.[1] Developed by the Obama administration beginning in 2010, it goes beyond existing kill lists and is intended to become a permanent fixture of U.S. policy.[1] The process determining criteria for killing is not public and was heavily shaped by National

Counterterrorism Director and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John O. Brennan.[2]

Though White House, National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), and CIA spokespeople have declined to comment on the database, officials have stated privately that kill lists will expand "for at least another decade", if not indefinitely. One official stated "it's a necessary part of what we do".[1] Paul R. Pillar, the former deputy director of the CIA's counterterrorism center, has stated, "We are looking at something that is potentially indefinite".[1]

The database's existence was revealed in a three-part series published by The Washington Post newspaper.

The creation of the Disposition Matrix database is part of an effort embraced by White House counterterrorism adviser John O. Brennan to codify the targeted killing policies developed by President Barack Obama. Under the George W. Bush administration, Brennan served as top aide to CIA director George Tenet, where he defended the administration's use of extraordinary rendition, enhanced interrogation, and torture by definition according to international standards.[3] Brennan's association with the CIA's interrogation program was controversial and forced him to withdraw his candidacy for directorship of the CIA or National Intelligence in 2008.[4]

According to The New York Times, Brennan was the "principal coordinator" of U.S. kill lists. Former Obama administration counter-terrorism official Daniel Benjamin has stated that Brennan "probably had more power and influence than anyone in a comparable position in the last 20 years".[5]

The database's creation also accompanied an expansion of the drone fleet, turning the CIA into a "paramilitary force" according to The Washington Post. The Real Causes for the Oncoming Economic Collapse

This Thursday, the markets took a 1000 point hit which was more than a little startling for many investors since the last 1000 point fall only happened three days prior… all in all bringing the financial markets to lows not seen since April 2011, and veering dangerously close to a precipice which has 1929 written all over it. Across the internet, panicky discussion has erupted over whether this foretells another 1987 collapse as Donald Trump warned, or something more akin to Black Tuesday of 1929. Others have pondered whether this is more similar to a 1923 Weimar hyperinflation where Germans became millionaires overnight (not much to celebrate when bread costs billions).

The fact of the oncoming collapse itself should not be a surprise- especially when one is reminded of the $1.5 quadrillion of derivatives which has taken over a world economy which generates a mere $80 trillion/year in measurable goods and trade. These nebulous bets on insurance on bets on collateralized debts known as derivatives didn’t even exist a few decades ago, and the fact is that no matter what the Federal Reserve and European Central Bank have attempted to do to stop a new rupture of this overextended casino bubble of an economy in recent months, nothing has worked. Zero to negative percent interest rates haven’t worked, opening overnight repo loans of $100 billion/night to failing banks hasn’t worked- nor has the return of quantitative easing which restarted on October 17 in earnest. No matter what these financial wizards try to do, things just keep getting worse. Rather than acknowledge what is actually happening, scapegoats have been selected to shift the blame away from reality to the point that the current crisis is actually being blamed on the Coronavirus!

Deeper than Corona

Let me just state outright: That while the coronavirus may in fact be the catalyzer for the oncoming financial blowout, it is the height of stupidity to believe that it is the cause, as the seeds of the crisis goes deeper and originated much earlier than most people are prepared to admit.

To start getting at a more truthful diagnostic, it is useful to think of an economy in real (vs purely financial) terms – That is: Simply think of the economy as total system in which the body of humanity (all cultures, nations and families of the world) exist.

This co-existence is predicated on certain necessary powers of production of food, clothing, capital goods (hard and soft infrastructure), transportation and energy production. After raw materials are transformed into finished goods, these physical goods and services move from points A to B and are consumed. This is very much akin to the metabolism that maintains a living body.

Now since populations tend to grow geometrically, while resources deplete arithmetically, constant demands on new creative discoveries and technological application are also needed to meet and improve upon the needs of a growing humanity. This last factor is actually the most important because it touches on the principled element that distinguishes humanity from all other forms of life in the ecosystem which Lincoln identified wonderfully in his 1859 Discoveries and Inventions Speech:

Judicial Watch Sues State Department for Text Messages of Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the State Department for all text and other electronic messages of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin after discovering an email that strongly suggests Clinton used text messages for official business (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:20-cv-00441)).

In January 2020, Judicial Watch released emails that included an August 2011 email from Abedin to Clinton stating: “Sent you a couple of text messages.” The email was among other emails that had only recently been found by the FBI and produced to the State Department. Last week, a federal court criticized the State and Justice Departments for providing no explanation about how these emails were found at this late date:

Judicial Watch filed its recent FOIA lawsuit after the State Department denied any responsive records exist in response to two January 2020 FOIA requests for:

In March 2020, U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth granted Judicial Watch’s request to depose Clinton about her emails and Benghazi attack documents. The court also ordered the deposition of Clinton’s former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills and two other State Department officials.

Additionally, the court granted Judicial Watch’s request to subpoena Google for relevant documents and records associated with Clinton’s emails during her tenure at the State Department.

Clinton repeatedly stated that the 55,000 pages of documents she turned over to the State Department in December 2014 included all of her work-related emails. In response to a court order in another Judicial Watch case, she declared under penalty of perjury that she had “directed that all my emails on clintonemail.com in my custody that were or are potentially federal records be provided to the Department of State, and on information and belief, this has been done.”

Netanyahu worsens unity offer to Gantz.

Blue and White leader Benny Gantz’s chances of building a coalition took a blow on Tuesday, when Gesher leader Orly Levy-Abecassis left the Labor-Gesher-Meretz alliance and announced she would not back a minority government dependent on the Joint List of Arab parties.

Levy-Abecassis said publicly during the campaign that she had no problem supporting a minority government backed by the Joint List, but revealed on Facebook Tuesday that she had said the opposite privately ahead of the race.

She also endorsed Gantz and criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu throughout the campaign. But she issued fierce criticism of Gantz on Tuesday.

“We are all witnessing leaders who promised to act with credibility and responsibility dealing these days with shameful courting [of the Joint List],” Levy-Abecassis wrote. “They are willing to pay any price in order to form a minority government even if it will rely on undependable people.”

Blue and White, Labor and Meretz officials expressed outrage at Levy-Abecassis’s zigzag. Meretz MK Tamar Zandberg called her a racist and said she had to quit the Knesset. But she received praise from Likud.

“The delusional idea of a minority government dependent on MK Ahmad Tibi and his friends has apparently died,” Likud minister Ze’ev Elkin tweeted.

Without Levy-Abecassis and rebel Blue and White MKs Zvi Hauser and Yoaz Hendel, Gantz does not have enough support to form a minority government.

Channel 12 reported that chances of a unity government also decreased on Tuesday, because the Likud decided to stiffen its offer to Gantz. If after the September election, Netanyahu was willing to let Gantz take over as prime minister after six months, now he will demand to stay in power for at least another year, possibly two.

The head of the Likud negotiating team, Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, mocked Yisrael Beytenu on Tuesday for issuing a series of demands for joining a Likud-led government. Levin said the demands should be sent to the Joint List instead.

Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman met on Tuesday evening with the entire Blue and White cockpit of Benny Gantz, Yair Lapid, Moshe Ya’alon and Gabi Ashkenazi. They reported progress toward forming a government and avoiding a fourth election. Liberman will report back from the meeting to his Yisrael Beytenu faction on Wednesday.

To form a minority government, the Joint List will only need to vote in favor of the coalition one time and then cooperation with the list of Arab parties will end, Blue and White’s No. 2 MK Yair Lapid wrote on social media Tuesday.

Lapid responded to threats from Hauser and Hendel, who said Tuesday they would remain in the Knesset and oppose the government, even if they were thrown out of Blue and White.

He said that he, too, preferred a national unity government but it cannot happen because of Netanyahu.

Now that both OPEC+ and OPEC no longer exist, and it's a free-for-all of "every oil producer for themselves" and which Goldman described as return to "the playbook of the New Oil Order, with low cost producers increasing supply from their spare capacity to force higher cost producers to reduce output", the key question is just how long can the world's three biggest producers - shale, Russia and Saudi Arabia...

... sustain a scorched-earth price war that keep oil prices around $30 (or even lower).

While we hope to get an answer on both Saudi and US shale longevity shortly, and once the market reprices shale junk bonds sharply lower, we expect the US shale patch to soon become a ghost town as money-losing US producers will not be solvent with oil below $30, assuring that millions in supply will soon be pulled from the market, moments ago we got the answer as far as Russia is concerned, when its Finance Ministry said on Monday that the country could weather oil prices of $25 to 30$ per barrel for between six and 10 years.

The ministry said it could tap into the country’s National Wealth Fund to ensure macroeconomic stability if low oil prices linger. As of March 1, the fund held more than $150 billion or 9.2% of Russia’s growth domestic product.

Incidentally, this may explain why over the past two years, Putin has been busy dumping US Treasury and hoarding gold: he was saving liquidity for a rainy day, and as millions of shale workers are about to find out today, it's pouring.

Pope admits clerical abuse of nuns including sexual slavery

Pope Francis has admitted that clerics have sexually abused nuns, and in one case they were kept as sex slaves.

He said in that case his predecessor, Pope Benedict, was forced to shut down an entire congregation of nuns who were being abused by priests.

It is thought to be the first time that Pope Francis has acknowledged the sexual abuse of nuns by the clergy.

He said the Church was attempting to address the problem but said it was "still going on".

Last November, the Catholic Church's global organisation for nuns denounced the "culture of silence and secrecy" that prevented them from speaking out.

The Pope's comments come amid long-running cases of sexual abuse of children and young men by priests at the Church.

Speaking to reporters while on a historic tour of the Middle East on Tuesday, the pontiff admitted that the Church had an issue, and the roots lay in society "seeing women as second class".

He said that priests and bishops had abused nuns, but said the Church was aware of the "scandal" and was "working on it", adding that a number of clerics had been suspended.

"It's a path that we've been on," he said.

"Pope Benedict had the courage to dissolve a female congregation which was at a certain level, because this slavery of women had entered it - slavery, even to the point of sexual slavery - on the part of clerics or the founder."

Pope Francis said sexual abuse of nuns was an ongoing problem, but happened largely in "certain congregations, predominantly new ones".

"I think it's still taking place because it's not as though the moment you become aware of something it goes away."

The female congregation dissolved in 2005 under Pope Benedict was the Community of St Jean, which was based in France, Alessandro Gisotti of the Vatican press office told CBS News.

In 2013, the Community of St Jean admitted that priests had behaved "in ways that went against chastity" with several women in the order, according to the French Roman Catholic newspaper La Croix.

In a separate case in India last year, a bishop was arrested over allegations that he raped a nun 13 times between 2014 and 2016.

Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who headed the diocese in Jalandhar in the northern state of Punjab, has denied the accusations.

In Chile, reports of abuse of nuns carried out by priests led the Vatican to launch an investigation last year. The women were reportedly removed from the order after highlighting the abuse.

Last year, the Associated Press news agency reported cases of abuse in Italy and Africa .

Just days ago the Vatican's women's magazine, Women Church World, condemned the abuse, saying in some cases nuns were forced to abort priests' children - something Catholicism forbids.

The magazine's editor, Lucetta Scaraffia, said Pope Francis's acknowledgement of the abuse "can be of some help", but warned that the Church needs to act.

"If the Church continues to close its eyes to the scandal... the condition of oppression of women in the church will never change," she wrote.

The magazine said the #MeToo movement meant more women were now coming forward with their stories.

Last year, French website Le Parisien reported the case of "Christelle" (in French) , a former nun whose name was changed to preserve anonymity.

Christelle said she had suffered sexual abuse at the hands of a priest of her congregation in France between 2010 and 2011.

"His gestures became more and more inappropriate," she said, adding: "But he kept going... until the day he raped me.

"He was unable to control himself... he had a split personality."

As a whistleblower with integrity to pursue the truth amidst persecution, Philip Haney was a faithful steward of a story much bigger than one man. He found himself in the cross hairs of an international criminal syndicate of Islamic terrorist organizations, Mexican cartels, and a former administration who concealed their gun running, drug trafficking, terrorism, and infiltration of America.

Just eleven days after the attacks of September 11, 2001, the first Director of the Office of Homeland Security was appointed to safeguard the country against terrorist threats and a year later, Congress passed the Homeland Security Act in November of 2002. By March of 2003, the Department of Homeland Security opened its doors. As a charter member of the newly formed department, Philip Haney was there to see it all. He explained that he was brought on board as a Counter Terrorism Specialist “to follow the trail and find the nests,” which is exactly what Philip Haney did. Texas Representative Louie Gohmert described Philip Haney’s service, recalling “He won numerous awards and commendations from his superiors for meticulously compiling information and producing actionable reports that led to the identification of hundreds of terrorists.” However, under the Obama administration, everything changed. Gohmert went on to explain, “He saw things that were a threat to this country, he said something, and he was severely punished for it, because apparently the Obama administration had some radical Islamic ties that they did not want anybody, including Philip Haney, to expose.”

From The Arizona Mafia To Homeland Security

Meanwhile, in Arizona, Janet Napolitano, was appointed as the U.S. District Attorney of Arizona in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, then went on to serve as Attorney General of Arizona from 1999 to 2003 and later served as Governor of Arizona from 2003 to 2009. By 2009, Janet Napolitano was appointed to the position of Secretary of Homeland Security by Barack Obama, a move that Senator McCain of Arizona cheered. McCain remarked, “I think she’s highly qualified, and we as citizens of Arizona are very proud to have a border-state governor and someone with her knowledge and expertise serving in this very, very important and vital position,” adding, “I think we all know that we face challenges from Islamic extremism throughout the world, and I believe she will do an outstanding job.”

Another whistleblower by the name of Jeffrey Peterson, who was drawn into a web of what many describe as the Arizona Mafia, stated in a recent interview with Quite Frankly, “There is some really important stuff that I do know, and that is, I was around…to see Napolitano. I was directly involved with these people. I was very close with her inner circle…as they got involved with the Mexican PRI political party, as the relationship started unfolding…and I was around them for a few pivotal years…while that relationship was starting. So I saw a lot of it. Very, very important things that translate directly into what’s happening today…” Peterson went on to explain that, “All I know is what I saw…I was there when Napolitano was leaving Arizona and going to D.C. to become Homeland Security Director…I was with her inner circle of friends…When she got the phone call that she was going to do that, they were all excited. Many of them got appointed as agency directors.” Peterson added, “It started kind of innocuous. It was just all about Arizona – Mexico relations as far I knew and then they just all started getting pulled in more and more by the money. They were super tempted by the money. They all wanted that easy money that was flowing from Mexico, and that’s how they got into it.”

Much of the money flow from this relationship between the Arizona Mafia and the PRI, presumably originated from cartels who likely used their PRI connections for drug trafficking operations through Arizona.

The former president affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Mexico, Carlos Salinas, who is regarded by many, as one of the most corrupt presidents in Mexican history, reportedly had family connections to drug smuggling and money laundering operations in the United States. Members of the PRI, which maintained political power in Mexico for 70 years until 2000, had direct connections with and received bribes from the Zetas. Court documents from a case in Arizona revealed a link between Hezbollah and Los Zetas drug trafficking and money laundering operations. Hezbollah is also known to have established a business relationship with the Oficina de Envigado, an offshoot of Pablo Escobar’s Medellin cartel. A 2011 hearing before the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence concluded that Hezbollah created an infrastructure for training, intelligence operations, and sleeper cells in Mexico while aiding the cartels in the construction of tunnels used for drug smuggling and human trafficking across the United States border. An abundance of evidence has made it clear to Western Intelligence communities that Mexican cartels have, for years, been in league with Islamic terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah.

In 2008, the DEA launched a campaign known as Project Cassandra, which compiled a trail of evidence to prove how Hezbollah’s operations expanded from a military and political organization in the Middle East, to a worldwide criminal enterprise. Project Cassandra investigators had reason to believe that Hezbollah amassed more than $1 billion dollars per year from gun running, drug trafficking, money laundering, and other criminal operations. Investigators tracked cocaine trafficking and money flow from Mexico to the United States, with direct links to the state sponsor of Hezbollah, Iran, as well as to the inner circle of Hezbollah itself. As Project Cassandra investigators began to zero in on the targets of their investigation, they repeatedly faced roadblocks by the Obama State Department. All requests by the investigators to prosecute, arrest, or file sanctions against the key players in this massive international trafficking operation, were systematically rejected. Despite all of the evidence, in 2010, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security, John Brennan, told a Washington conference that the Obama administration was seeking ways to “build up the more moderate elements,” of Hezbollah.

Between 2009 and 2011, an operation known as “Fast and Furious,” involved repeated transports of weapons and military equipment south of the border to the Sinaloa cartel. A contributor for The Hill recounted, “M-16s, AR-15s, AK-47s, 1911 Colt 45s, grenade launchers, grenades, Kevlar vests and Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) were reported to the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General in 2012 as having been a part of weapons and equipment ran across the border as part of Fast and Furious.” In a minimum of three separate occasions, weapons were transported through Arizona to Mexico, where the transporters met with, both, a U.S. national and a person of Middle Eastern descent to receive the load. Guns transported through the Fast and Furious operation have been connected to the death of Brian Terry, a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Arizona, and may potentially link to the Paris terrorist attacks and a Garland, Texas attack, both in 2015, Judicial Watch reported, noting that “The government lost track of most of the weapons,” making it difficult for weapons to be traced to specific attacks. However, in 2010, Fast and Furious-linked weapons were, in fact, traced and intercepted by a Moroccan Commander on their way to arm rebels in Algeria. With Hezbollah’s growing presence in Mexico while Operation Fast and Furious was in full swing, many of the untracked weapons may have ended in the hands of these terrorists. In a 2013 Congressional hearing, Representative Ted Poe remarked, “Do you remember Operation Fast and Furious? We still haven’t gotten answers on that scandal…

According to a December 2018 complaint filed by whistleblower, Jeffrey Peterson, against members of the Arizona Mafia, Peterson alleges that he personally witnessed an alleged Arizona Mafia member, Dennis Burke, the former chief of staff to Janet Napolitano who was appointed to the position of U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona by President Obama in 2009, who “made numerous statements, including possible admissions of misconduct and/ or culpability to [the] Plaintiff [Jeffrey Peterson] while Plaintiff [Jeffrey Peterson] and Burke were friends, regarding Burke’s involvement in the Obama-era Fast and Furious arms trafficking scandal.” Burke resigned from his position in 2011 over leaking sensitive documents to the press, for the purpose of undermining the integrity of an ATF whistleblower on the Fast and Furious operation, John Dodson.

The Mission To Destroy America From Within

Priorities of the U.S. State Department and DHS took a drastic turn in 2008. Philip Haney described the circulation of a “touchstone document,” known as the Words Matter memo, issued by the Department of Homeland Security, from which a monumental shift in counter terrorism policy arose. The document marked the launch of a new policy in which the DHS would no longer connect the dots between terrorist organizations and the religious groups from which they were affiliated, as the targeting of these religious groups would violate their civil liberties. Furthermore, the new policy set off a chain of actions by the department to purge a large database, which Phil Haney had tirelessly compiled.

Another turning point for counter terrorism investigations came in November of 2008, when the largest terrorism trial in the history of the country, known as the Holy Land Foundation trial determined that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) were unindicted co-conspirators in charges against 5 individuals who were found guilty of raising between $12 and $60 million dollars for Hamas. These individuals and organizations were found to have irrefutable ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. The Holy Land Foundation trial fell on the month of the election of Barack Obama. Philip Haney remarked, “Instead of acting on this irrefutable evidence, they made the decision, deliberately and intentionally, not to prosecute them [the unindicted co-conspirators], but to turn around and invite them into positions of authority and influence.” Haney explained, “That is one of the reasons why I ended up in such an overtly adversarial relationship with my own government and my own agency, because I had the audacity to have targeted those individuals and those organizations, and put that information into the law enforcement system.”

Senior level members of the Obama administration alleged to have been sympathetic to organizations tied to radical Islamic ideology, included the Deputy Chief of Staff to Hillary Clinton’s State Department, Huma Abedin, who has Muslim Brotherhood ties and worked as a liaison between Hillary’s State Department and the Clinton Foundation in an alleged pay-to-play scheme that gave foreign countries access to Clinton in exchange for donations to the foundation, and Senior Advisor to President Obama, Valerie Jarrett, who played a key role in orchestrating the Iran deal. Private meetings were held in 2010 between Muslim Brotherhood front groups, like CAIR, and senior White House officials, including Valerie Jarrett, Janet Napolitano, and Eric Holder, to discuss their concerns regarding civil liberties, counter terrorism strategies, and national security. Known for taking meticulous notes in short hand during his tenure at the DHS, Philip Haney documented everything, including at least 150 meetings at the White House with Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas front organizations such as ISNA and CAIR.

Philip Haney explained the dilemma that the Obama administration faced after taking on this new policy towards front organizations of Islamic extremism, stating, “The problem is that the Counter Terrorism Specialists like myself did our job correctly and the information that we put into the system was actually working. It was producing law enforcement based actions. Well that’s not very convenient when you’re bringing those very same individuals into positions of influence and authority in the administration. Something’s got to give.” Then, just before the failed Christmas day underwear bomber attack, in November of 2009, Haney was ordered to “delete or modify,” over 800 records of individuals connected to Hamas or Muslim Brotherhood, from the law enforcement database. A Congressional hearing over the failed bombing attempt ensued. Haney explained, “While members of Congress grilled Obama administration officials, demanding why their subordinates were still failing to understand the intelligence they had gathered, I was being forced to delete and scrub the records. And I was well aware that, as a result, it was going to be vastly more difficult to ‘connect the dots’ in the future—especially before an attack occurs.”

In 2012, Michele Bachmann and four members of Congress, including Louie Gohmert, issued letters to the DNI, the DHS, the DoD, the DoJ, and the State Department with a stern warning regarding the infiltration of Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. government. The letter began, “As you may know, information has recently come to light that raises serious questions about Department of State policies and activities that appear to be a result of influence operations conducted by individuals and organizations associated with the Muslim Brotherhood. Given that the U.S. government has established in federal court that the Muslim Brotherhood’s mission in the United States is ‘destroying the Western civilization from within’ – a practice that Muslim Brothers call ‘civilization jihad’ – we believe that the apparent involvement of those with such ties raises serious security concerns that warrant your urgent attention. ”

Bachmann received harsh criticism over the letters by Arizona Senator John McCain and others. McCain, himself, met with a known al Qaeda associate and Libyan militia leader in 2011 during a trip to Benghazi, and has been accused by Egyptian media as the “Godfather” of the Muslim Brotherhood. Egyptian media personality, Ahmed Moussa, remarked following the death of John McCain, “Today was John McCain’s funeral, which the leaders of the criminal Brotherhood in America have taken part in…and they performed the Absentee funeral prayer for John McCain in Qatar, Turkey, USA, and Britain.” Moussa went on to state, “[McCain] was the main supporter for the terrorist Brotherhood…Senator McCain was the one who opened up the Congress to the Brotherhood. He was the one arranging the meetings and appointments and providing them with protection.” The warnings by Bachmann and others went largely ignored by the Obama administration, including Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, who stated before a Congressional hearing the previous year that the Muslim Brotherhood is an “umbrella term for a variety of movements,” adding that, in Egypt they are a very diverse group that is “largely secular,” and has abstained from violence.

Philip Haney described a second purge of information from the law enforcement database related to a case on which he worked, referred to as Tablighi Jamaat. Haney recalled, “The Tablighi Jamaat case was shut down by Hillary Clinton, and the State Department, and my agency, Department of Homeland Security Civil Rights and Civil Liberties…they came to the National Targeting Center in March of 2012 and said they had ‘concerns’ about our focus on this group called Tablighi Jamaat…They shut the case down…

This time they didn’t come in and just modify the records like they did in the first great purge of ’09. This time they came in and took the records completely out of the system. They bypassed protocol, got my social security to access my records and deleted them.”

Philip Haney Saw Something, Said Something, And Paid The Ultimate Price

Following what Haney described as the “first great purge,” of records in November of 2009, Haney explained, “That wasn’t even enough. The next step that they took was they went after the individuals who put that information in the system in the first place, and they knocked us off one by one…I was among the first…but I also, by God’s grace, was the one that survived the longest. I saw it all.”

During the remaining years of his service for the DHS, Philip Haney was subjected to nine separate investigations designed to intimidate, silence, and ultimately remove him from his position. In one instance, Philip Haney was falsely accused of leaking information regarding a Saudi person of interest who was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing, which led to the convening of a grand jury investigation against him. Haney was found innocent. Meanwhile, lawmakers grilled Janet Napolitano for the intelligence failures in sharing information between agencies that led to the Boston Bombing attack, to which Napolitano admitted that the 2012 return of the Boston bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, to the United States, was not flagged, stating, “The system pinged when he was leaving the United States. By the time he returned all investigations had been closed.” Despite their best efforts to discredit him, Philip Haney persevered through it all, and was exonerated in each of the investigations.

In the final year of his service for the DHS, amidst the trials of yet another investigation, Philip Haney was stripped of his gun and isolated from his colleagues in the department. Despite the level of disrespect he received from this department from which he served honorably for so many years, Haney did not view this time in solitude as a loss. Instead, he used the period as a sabbatical. In the remainder of his stint with the department, Haney gathered, organized and archived notes and documents that he had meticulously kept over the years. On July 31, 2015, Philip Haney retired from DHS and days later, Haney met with WND Editor, Art Moore. The pair immediately began work on the book, ‘See Something, Say Nothing,’ an expose on Philip Haney’s experience at the DHS, and the former administration’s attempts to obstruct the DHS and other agencies from connecting the dots among terrorist networks.

Haney recalled, “We were writing the book in December. We were starting to put it together when the San Bernardino shootings happened, and it changed the whole structure of the book, because it sadly proved the whole premise of the book.” Philip went on to explain, “I knew within a split second it was the case…I yelled at the top of my voice, ‘That’s my case!’” The shooters in the San Bernardino attack were affiliated with Phil Haney’s Tablighi Jamaat case that Hillary Clinton’s State Department shut down in 2012. Once again, the departments that were designed to trace the networks of terrorist groups, were unable to make the critical connections necessary to prevent an attack. Adding to the problem, Philip Haney explained, “Eric Holder’s parting legacy in November of 2014…was guidelines for federal law enforcement officers…We’re not allowed to build cases based on affiliation with any religious group. So we’re blinded and we’re handcuffed…You can’t build a case to probable cause if you’re not allowed to make an association between the individual and the group, like in his [Syed Farook’s] case, was Tablighi Jamaat.” Counter Terrorism Specialists were unable to draw connections to Syed Farook’s affiliation with the organization that Philip Haney had tracked three years prior.

Haney claimed that the Tablighi Jamaat case, which had been deleted from the law enforcement database, would likely have put into place law enforcement actions against the terrorists, thereby preventing the San Bernardino incident from occurring.

Then, again, in June of 2016, Haney realized that the Orlando nightclub attack had “chilling parallels” to the San Bernardino attack, as the Orlando shooter was also associated with the Tablighi Jamaat case that he had worked during his time at the DHS. Haney explained, “[I was] struck by the statement…that there were two cases opened on Mateen in the past, and in both cases, they didn’t find any evidence to charge him, when it took me three or four solid hours of work, but I found the direct link all the way from the Islamic Center of Ft. Pierce, all the way back to my case that I worked on at the National Targeting Center.” During a 2016 Congressional hearing on Radical Islam and Terrorism, Haney illustrated the administration’s ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ policy of separating terrorist attacks from their connection to Islamic groups. He explained, “In the few days after the Orlando shootings, Attorney General Lynch was going to release partial transcripts of the Orlando 911 calls with all references to Islamic terrorism removed. That is a condensation of what was actually happening behind the scenes with subject matter experts like myself.”

According to Texas Representative Louie Gohmert, Haney had plans to release a new book in the spring of 2020. Gohmert remarked, “His book was going to name names of people that put this country at risk.” Representative Gohmert added that Philip Haney intended to return to work for the federal government in the coming weeks and planned to get married in April of 2020. Haney also stated in one of his last interviews, that he was working with lawmakers on legislative efforts.

Unfortunately, all of Philip Haney’s plans were stopped short on February 21, 2020. Philip Haney was found dead next to his vehicle, with a single gunshot wound. Early reports from the Amador County Sheriff’s department stated the cause of death appeared to be from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Amador County Sheriff’s department later released a letter on February 24, 2020, which revised their earlier assessment, stating, “Unfortunately, there was misinformation immediately being put out that we have determined Mr. Haney’s death to be a suicide. This is not the case. We are currently in the beginning phase of our investigation and any final determination as to the cause and manner of Mr. Haney’s death would be extremely premature and inappropriate. No determination will be made until all evidence is examined and analyzed.” The letter also explained that the Amador County Sheriff’s department requested assistance from the FBI in analyzing documents, a lap top, and phone records found at the scene and in Philip Haney’s RV. Days later, Glenn Beck reported that he was personally made aware of a thumb drive of important documents that Philip Haney carried on a necklace around his neck.

The death of Philip Haney appears to be yet another attempt to silence him and his message. As a whistleblower with the integrity to pursue the truth, amidst persecution, Philip Haney found himself in the cross hairs of an international criminal syndicate of Islamic terrorist organizations, Mexican cartels, and a former administration who concealed their gun running, drug trafficking, terrorism, and infiltration of America. Philip Haney knew the dangers he faced in speaking out, but he was a man of faith who felt he was tasked to carry on this mission, stating, “I’m a steward of the story. It’s not my story. It’s not about me. The story is about our country. It’s a great honor to be a steward of the story, but it also came with a great price.” Philip Haney paid the ultimate price, in his faithfulness to God and his country. Despite efforts to silence him, Philip Haney’s message lives on.

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Two more deaths in King County have been linked to COVID-19, bringing the total number of fatalities to at least 25 - as Gov. Jay Inslee said Tuesday that up to 64,000 people could be infected within two months if actions aren't taken now to stop its spread,

"What the experts are telling us is ... the number of people who are infected will double in anywhere from 5 to 8 days ... unless we take some real action," the governor said at a morning news conference.

"And if you do the math, it gets very disturbing. ... If it's 1,000 (infections) today, in seven to eight weeks there could be 64,000 people infected in the state of Washington if we don't somehow slow down this epidemic. And in the next week it could be 120,000, and in the next week a quarter of a million."

"We need to look forward and get ahead of the curve in Washington state. If we're going to stop this epidemic or seriously slow it down, we need to focus on what's coming - not what's here today," Inslee added.

The two new deaths being reported today include:

A woman in her 80s, a resident of Issaquah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, who was hospitalized at Swedish Issaquah, and died on March 8. (This case was previously reported as a positive case on March 7, in an earlier case count.)

A man in his 80s, a resident of Ida Culver House, who was hospitalized at University of Washington Medical Center, and died on March 9. (This case was previously reported as a positive case on March 6, in an earlier case count.)

Iran Developing COVID-19 Herbal Medicine

Four Iranian companies have launched efforts to make herbal medicine for the treatment of the novel coronavirus that has killed over 200 people across the country so far, an official said.

Secretary of Biotechnology Development Headquarters of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology Mostafa Qanei said two Iranian companies have launched a project to make two herbal medicines for fighting the coronavirus.

He noted that two other companies are also working on two other medicines used for treatment of individuals with the coronavirus symptoms, saying the medication is expected to clean the nose and throat.

The medicines are going to be mass produced after success in the clinical tests and certification by the Food and Drugs Organization, he added.

The official went on to say that the clinical tests have begun since March 5 and will go on for two weeks.

The Iranian Health Ministry said on Monday that since the outbreak of the new coronavirus in the country, 2,394 patients have completely recovered from the infectious disease.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has increased by 595, reaching 7,161.

Authorities say the death toll from the new coronavirus epidemic in Iran has risen to 237.

Petition Accusing Pornhub of Hosting Sex Trafficking, Rape Films Garners Over 400,000 Signatures

An online petition on Change.org accusing open access porn site Pornhub of hosting sex trafficking and child rape films recently gained the support of nearly 430,000 individuals.

The petition, which was started by a group called Exodus Cry dedicated to stopping sex trafficking, presently has a goal of 500,000 signatures. According to the petition’s organizers, Pornhub is making millions of dollars in advertising and membership fees but has “no system in place to verify reliably the age or consent of those featured in the pornographic content it hosts and profits from.”

The petition also notes how a 15-year-old girl - who had been missing for a year - was eventually found being featured in 58 videos on PornHub, where she was being forced into having sex with her trafficker, who is currently facing a lewd battery felony charge. The petition claims that Pornhub even admitted to verifying the teenager; however, when Pornhub realized that it was admitting to being complicit in a sex trafficking case, it deleted the tweets stating that the girl had been verified.

The campaigners also cite the $12.7 million lawsuit against company GirlsDoPorn after 22 women were tricked by its owner, Michael Pratt, into performing sexual acts on video that were later uploaded to Pornhub without their consent.

The US federal indictment against Pratt and his co-conspirators states that he filmed “child rape and sexual abuse content and trafficked a minor.”

“But there are other individuals who should also be wanted by law enforcement — CEO Feras Antoon and COO David Tassillo of Mindgeek, the company that owns Pornhub,” the petition states, noting that these individuals are “complicit in the trafficking of these women and minors and probably thousands more like them.”

According to Exodus Cry, anyone can become verified on Pornhub without even presenting a government-issued ID. In fact, all that is required to become a verified member on Pornhub and be allowed to upload pornography is an email address and a photo of oneself, the petition says.

In addition, the petition explains that one of the most searched words on Pornhub is “teen,” with many of the women featured under this category looking very young.

In a statement to the Guardian, Mindgeek refuted the claims that it is complicit in sex trafficking and child rape.

“Pornhub has a steadfast commitment to eradicating and fighting non-consensual content and under-age material. Any suggestion otherwise is categorically and factually inaccurate,” the statement reads.

The petition comes as US Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) urged the US Department of Justice (DoJ) on Tuesday to launch an investigation into the allegations that Pornhub hosts videos of sex trafficking victims and children. In a letter to the government agency, Sasse wrote that the “publicized cases clearly represent just the tip of the iceberg of women and children being exploited in videos on Pornhub.”

The official further stressed that “Pornhub must not escape scrutiny."

Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden’s presidential campaigns canceled rallies set for Cleveland on Tuesday night due to coronavirus concerns, the first disruptions the outbreak has caused in the 2020 Democratic primary.

In separate announcements, the Democratic presidential contenders’ campaigns said they exercised caution about holding large public gatherings after hearing guidance from public health officials. Both the Sanders and Biden campaigns thanked supporters who planned to attend the events on a crucial day in the race to decide who faces President Donald Trump in November.

In a statement, Sanders communications director Mike Casca said the Vermont senator’s campaign will evaluate future events “on a case by case basis.”

Biden communications director Kate Bedingfield said the Democratic front-runner still plans to address the press Tuesday night at a location to be announced. She added that the campaign will “make announcements about future events in the coming days.”

Democrats are voting in six states today.

New York Creates Coronavirus Containment Zone, Plans To Deploy National Guard

New York governor Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday that the state will create a containment zone in New Rochelle where the largest cluster of cases of COVID-19 are concentrated. There are currently 108 confirmed cases in the New York City suburb.

“The largest cluster of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country is located in New Rochelle, and as the numbers continue to go up we need a special public health strategy to contain it,” Cuomo said. “We are moving from containment to mitigation, and because much of the transmission of this disease tends to happen on a geographic basis, we are attacking this hotspot at the source.”

The state will open a temporary testing facility and deploy the national guard to support containment efforts by delivering food to households and disinfect the area. The containment will begin March 12 and is set to conclude on March 25.

“It is a dramatic action but it is the largest cluster in the country and this is literally a matter of life and death,” the governor added.

FEMA Seeking Contractors to Deliver Portable Toilets, Showers Within 24 Hours Notice as Coronavirus Spreads

The U.S. government's disaster response agency placed an urgent request last week seeking contractors who can deliver portable toilets, showers, and hand-washing stations throughout the United States within 24 hours notice, a potential sign of how the administration could be preparing to respond to a coronavirus pandemic.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said it was looking for vendors who are able to provide "portable facilities, to include toilets, showers, and handwash stations during a FEMA disaster response to all U.S. state, local, tribal, and territorial government locations," according to a "sources sought notice" the agency posted on the federal public solicitation database on March 3.

Federal agencies publish "sources sought notices" to collect information on potential vendors in a market and they often precede a formal solicitation notice for contractors. Responses were requested by March 26, 2020.

A spokeswoman for FEMA told the Washington Free Beacon that it is "promoting preparedness activities" related to the global spread of coronavirus, which topped 800 confirmed cases in the United States on Tuesday. The agency declined to say directly whether the vendor notice was part of this response effort.

"The federal government is taking aggressive and proactive steps to mitigate the spread and effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19)," said FEMA spokeswoman Janet Montesi. "Consistent with its mission, FEMA has also been promoting preparedness activities and is currently a supporting agency to HHS delivering crisis action planning, situational awareness, reporting, interagency coordination, course of action development, and logistics supply chain analysis through a Crisis Action Task Force located at the HHS Secretary’s Operations Center."

The spread of the virus has prompted mandatory quarantines in New York and other states. New York governor Andrew Cuomo also announced the formation of a one-mile containment zone in Westchester County this week.

Contractors "must be able to deliver to designated disaster locations within the appointed time period, typically 24 hours after award, to any location within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii to the U.S. Territories," according to the notice.

The handwashing stations "must be available to meet the health and sanitation needs of the shelter population" and "should be located near toilet areas and equipped with soap, disposable towels, and warm water if possible."

The posting also stressed that vendors must be able to deliver the products quickly, within 24 hours of government approval.

"Do you have prior experiences in providing such services with short turn-around requests? Please describe the experience and how it worked out," said the notice.

The federal government has been stocking up on face masks and hand sanitizer since February in response to the coronavirus threat, according to reports.

The National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group, warned the federal government to be aware that emergency situations can often provide an opening for corruption in the procurement process.

"Oftentimes the government must take forceful and extensive measures in a crisis," said Tom Anderson, director of the National Legal and Policy Center’s Government Integrity Project. "While this is necessary it also invites possible corruption and corner-cutting. I hope the proper safeguards are in place for this and future endeavors our government is taking on in order to battle the Covid-19 outbreak."

Italy enacted a nationwide mandatory quarantine on Tuesday as confirmed coronavirus cases in the country exceeded 9,000. People are prohibited from traveling outside their homes for reasons other than work or emergencies.

Comedian-actor Patton Oswalt posted a tweet on Tuesday in which he imagined supporters of President Donald Trump dying from coronavirus.

The Ratatouille star joked that “MAGA” supporters infected with COVID-19 would be obsessed with the media’s treatment of President Trump as they coughed themselves to death.

Oswalt was responding to an unsubstantiated claim that President Trump has asked Attorney General William Barr to launch a Justice Department investigation into the media’s coverage of the coronavirus.

Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman recently cited an “anonymous source close to the White House” who alleges that President Trump “wants Justice to open investigations of the media for market manipulation.” But the Vanity Fair report never says that the president asked Barr to launch such an investigation, as Oswalt’s retweet claims.

(c) UNAUTHORIZED DISCLOSURE OF APPLICA- TIONS.—

(1) IN GENERAL.—Subsection (a) of section 109 (50 U.S.C. 1809) is amended—

(A) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘intentionally’’;

(B) in paragraph (1)—

(i) by inserting ‘‘intentionally’’ before

‘‘engages in’’; and

(ii) by striking ‘‘; or’’ and inserting a

semicolon;

(C) in paragraph (2)—

(i) by inserting ‘‘intentionally’’ before ‘‘disclose or uses’’; and

(ii) by striking the period at the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and

(D) by adding at the end the following new

paragraph:

‘‘(3) is an employee, officer, or contractor of the United States Government and intentionally dis- closes an application, or classified information con- tained therein, for an order under any title of this Act to any person not entitled to receive classified information.’’.

The leadership, from the beginning, vowed to punish any individuals who dared speak up about the scale of the problem, which officials said was akin to "spreading rumors."

There is a precedent for the U.S. sending assistance to Iran during natural disasters, such as during the 2003 Bam earthquake during the Bush administration."

Earlier this month, U.S. officials extended an olive branch to assist the nemesis nation in its response to the epidemic, but to date Tehran has dismissed external intervention.

My take on this (my 2 cents fwiw), they expanded the meaning for unauthorized disclosure, misconduct before the FISA/FISC court, and increased the penalties for both offenses and specified them as “criminal acts”.

It also says that Bill Barr has 180 days after the passage of the bill to review all FISA cases for accuracy!

And there it is, we already have identified cases where FBI agents were acting improperly and were never punished, just let go, so the cases where never completed.

I think this is where we are going to see the arrests come from.

4 People, Including Children, Found Dead In Dallas Hotel Room

TEXAS — A man, a woman, and two minors were found dead inside of a Dallas hotel room Tuesday.

Dallas police responded to the scene at the Staybridge Suites, located in the 16000 block of Dallas Parkway, around 3:00 p.m. local time.

According to KDFW, ‘Hotel managers told DPD that a reservation for the room the people were in ended on Tuesday but they remained in the room. When management tried to enter the room they heard a gunshot, backed off and called police.’

“This is the hardest part of the job. To see lives lost, especially children,” Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall told the news outlet.

Police would not confirm if the incident was a murder-suicide but said detectives are looking at that possibility.

Sanders is trying to regain some momentum in the latest round of voting Tuesday night, while the former vice president is looking to further pad his delegate lead.

Both candidates scored major endorsements in recent days, including Civil Rights leader Jesse Jackson for Sanders and Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) for Biden.

Sanders needs a big win in Michigan. Both candidates are hoping to win the big prize in The Wolverine State, but four polls show Biden has a double-digit lead.

The two candidates are battling over Sanders' "Medicare for All" proposal as the coronavirus dominates the headlines.

"Think about the insanity of a system where, today, somebody wakes up and maybe they think they have the symptoms of coronavirus, yet they cannot afford to go to a doctor," Sanders said.

"His "Medicare for All" push which would be a long and expensive slog, if it could get done at all," Biden remarked.

As primary voters streamed to the polls in six US states, they encountered system failures, missing ballots, disqualifying technicalities, and other unexpected roadblocks. One mayor was even turned away from his polling station.

Former vice president Joe Biden leads the Democratic field going into Tuesday’s contests, in which the candidates will compete for 352 party delegates. While Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders began the nomination season strong, handily taking the first three states, Biden surged to the forefront on Super Tuesday - though some have raised alarms about vote-counting abnormalities in several of the states he won, noting sizable disparities between exit polling and computer vote tallies. Two days ago (Friday) a piece came out in Haaretz by Ido Glazer, featuring stories from five anonymous snipers who told how they gunned down unarmed protesters at the March of Return near the Gaza perimeter fence.

These accounts are a jaw-dropper, constituting some of the most enraging as well as depressing readings I can recall. The language of the perpetrators of these massacres is testimony to the moral depravity of these young soldiers, who still seem to believe they are fulfilling a sacred duty to defend their country, as well as a damning account of the state and society that supports them and their crimes.

These are not shamed confessions: the snipers appear to be boasting about their “hits”, in competition over the number of knees they can claim to have shot to pieces. And Israeli officials often say that their army is the “most moral army in the world.”

Let’s start with the knees.

Not “shooting and crying”

Glazer notes that this is not what is known as “shooting and crying”, a reference to the book that came out in the wake of the 1967 war called “The Seventh Day” (Amos Oz was a main interviewer there), where kibbutzniks unburdened themselves with stories from the war. This kind of soul-searching vein used to be considered a sign of moral fortitude in Israel, because our soldiers don’t just shoot – they also cry, and therefore we are the most moral in the world. No, not here. Glazer:

“More than half a century later, the lament of soldiers returning from the battlefield is still being heard, but at least according to the voices quoted here, their ideological and moral foundations have turned inside out. The soul-searching over the cost in blood has been replaced by criticism of the army’s weakness and the feeling that it is shackling its fighters.”

Neither is it “Breaking the Silence”, Glazer notes, referring to the organization that gathers combat soldier stories in order to create moral opposition to the 1967 occupation:

“They are not out to ‘break the silence’ or to atone for their deeds, only to relate what happened from their point of view.”

Indeed, there is hardly any sense of contrition in these accounts. They also celebrate their hits.

Glazer notes that “a video clip that circulated in 2018 showed a Palestinian approaching the fence and being shot by a sniper, as the soldiers celebrated the direct hit with shouts of ‘Right on!’ and ‘What a fab clip!’”.

The former Acting Police Chief of Olney, Texas was sentenced today to 10 years in federal prison for threatening an individual at gunpoint, announced U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Erin Nealy Cox.

Former Acting Chief Robert Michael Cross, 35, pleaded guilty in October to deprivation of rights under color of law following an investigation by the FBI’s Dallas Field Office.

In plea papers and in other information provided in court, Mr. Cross admitted that shortly after arresting two individuals for aggravated robbery offenses, he coerced them into engaging in conduct for his own personal benefit, promising to have the criminal cases against them dismissed if they complied with his demands.

About a month after the arrest, on Dec. 20, 2017, he took them out in his vehicle to eat dinner and catch a movie. That evening, he brandished a pistol, threatening one victim with bodily injury and coercing the victim to engage in sex acts with another individual, thereby willfully depriving the victim of the Constitutional right to be free from unreasonable force by a law enforcement officer.

Cross also has been accused in a separate case of telling a woman in early 2018 that if she would be his “chore slave” and “belong to him,” he would let her husband out of jail, according to the Dallas Morning News.

These days up to FL430 is not too unusual, even though business jets (if they can) much like to fly at those heights (and above as seen in the pic) since there's less traffic.

Senate Republicans to press National Archives for Ukraine documents after Obama executive privilege deadline passes

A top Senate Republican said the deadline for the National Archives to release information related to his committee’s investigation into a Ukrainian gas company that once employed Hunter Biden has expired.

Back in November, Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson sent a letter to the National Archives demanding documents pertaining to Obama-era White House meetings that National Security Council staff had with Ukrainian officials and former Democratic National Committee consultant Alexandra Chalupa.

Johnson’s panel has yet to receive these documents from the National Archives. The Wisconsin Republican told the Washington Examiner in January, “We've got a request into the National Archives. They've assembled, I think, more than a thousand pages, they're telling us.” The senator added that the release of the documents from the National Archives depended on whether President Barack Obama’s counsel would allow such a release of information to Johnson’s committee or make a claim of executive privilege.

Johnson told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that deadline has passed.

"We're working on a letter right now between my staff and Sen. [Chuck] Grassley's staff. There are rules in terms of timing, and we made the request,” Johnson said, adding,“but there's a certain time period that President Obama would have to claim executive privilege, specifically with the National Archives, that they have to let us know what those privilege claims are. That time has already expired. So, we should be getting this production now."

A National Archives representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The November letter to the National Archives was co-signed by Grassley, the chairman of the Finance Committee.

“According to Andrii Telizhenko, a political officer in the Ukraine Embassy in Washington, D.C. who participated in a January 2016 meeting, ‘U.S. officials volunteered ... that they had an interest in reviving a closed investigation into payments to U.S. figures from Ukraine’s Russia-backed Party of Regions,’ which refers to the investigation that involved Paul Manafort," the letter said.

Johnson and Grassley noted in their letter that, in the same meeting, Telizhenko "recalled DOJ officials asking investigators from Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) if they could help locate new evidence about the Party of Regions’ payments and its dealings with Americans."

Additionally, their letter described U.S. officials who reportedly discussed investigations into Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian gas company that hired then-Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, to serve as a board member.

“According to Telizhenko, ‘U.S. officials told the Ukrainians they would prefer that Kiev drop the Burisma probe and allow the FBI to take it over,’” both senators wrote.

Democrats on the Homeland Security Committee have disagreed with their Republican colleagues over advancing the Burisma investigation. Ranking member Gary Peters sent letters to Johnson in the past few months expressing concern that the committee should instead focus on potential presidential election interference by the Russians.

Johnson’s committee, the chairman confirmed, is expected to vote on Wednesday on a witness subpoena to call forth Telizhenko to testify.

New York doctor at CPAC was coronavirus 'patient zero'

For days, questions have swirled about the identity of a CPAC attendee who tested positive for coronavirus and whose diagnosis prompted congressional quarantines. That person is 55-year-old Dr. Alan W. Berger Sr., a clinical instructor at the New York University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, multiple sources told the Washington Examiner. Ian Walters, communications director for the American Conservative Union, which hosted the event, told the Washington Examiner that the patient, whom the group has not publicly identified, was asymptomatic while at the Conservative Political Action Conference, which ran from Feb. 26 to 29 in National Harbor, Maryland. However, after later exhibiting symptoms and testing positive for COVID-19, the patient reached out to officials at the ACU on March 7 to warn that he may have transmitted the disease to others at the gathering.

With the news, concern quickly grew. The mystery was further compounded by a slow drip of high-profile Republican lawmakers who began to self-quarantine themselves after learning of potential contact with the then-asymptomatic conferencegoer. Those who came into contact with Berger were Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia, and Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida. All House members closed their offices, though Cruz's remained open and operational. None of them have experienced any symptoms of the respiratory illness. "The office is open, continuing operations, and taking all necessary precautions to ensure their own health and wellness, as well as the health and wellness of our family members, our constituents, our colleagues in Congress, and everyone around us," Cruz's office said in a statement, noting earlier that the senator "felt great." CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp said Saturday he also had an interaction with the infected attendee. Schlapp also shook hands with President Trump that same weekend.

Gaetz confirmed Berger's attendance at the event to the Washington Examiner. The congressman, a staunch Trump ally, traveled with the president aboard Air Force One from Orlando, Florida, to Washington, D.C., on Monday. The Florida Republican said that, after finding out about his possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus, he was put inside a “closed-up room” on the presidential jet. Gaetz responded to a text message from the Washington Examiner shortly after disembarking Air Force One. When asked if he “had contact” with Berger while at CPAC, Gaetz responded simply, “I did.” Gaetz had previously been spotted wearing a gas mask on Capitol Hill during a vote on an emergency spending bill to combat the flu-like virus. "Members of Congress are human petri dishes," the congressman told reporters. "We fly through the dirtiest airports. We touch everyone we meet." Gaetz said he tested negative for the illness on Tuesday.

Schlapp and his organization have been mum about the patient's identity. He told the Daily Caller in a recent interview that the ACU was "barred" from revealing information. “We don’t reveal his [information] to anyone. We talk to him and others to determine if there were interactions, then we call those who had the interaction,” Schlapp said. “If we released his name, which we are barred from, it would not help anyone." “Nobody at the conference is suffering because his information is being kept confidential," he continued to say to the outlet, which referred to the CPAC attendee as "patient zero."

Walters, the ACU communications director, told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that Schlapp's statement saying ACU was "barred" from revealing Berger's identity was not "an accurate characterization." Walters said the ACU did not want to reveal Berger's identity to anyone, as it was "following the lead" of the health departments in New Jersey and Maryland. Upon requests for comment, the Maryland Department of Health would not verify Berger's identity, citing privacy laws. Berger is currently hospitalized and recovering in New Jersey. The New Jersey Department of Health, where Berger is currently hospitalized, did not respond to requests for comment.

"I, for one, am extremely excited about this debate all the moderates are panicking about," wrote Briahna Joy Gray, referencing the upcoming debate on Sunday in Phoenix. "The delegate count difference is only about 150 points out of 4051 total. America finally gets to see Biden defend his ideas, or lack there of, on Sunday."

Gray's tweets come as a surprise after Sanders's resounding loss in Michigan, a state he narrowly won against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016. His victory there during the last primary cycle was thought to indicate his strength among white working-class voters in swing states. On Tuesday, CNN, the host of the debate, said the event would be held without a live audience. Since Sanders's poor performance on Super Tuesday, individuals close to the campaign have repeatedly said they believe Sunday's debate would change the trajectory of the race.

Nearly 200 North Korean soldiers dead from coronavirus: Report

North Korea claims to be one of the only countries in Asia with no cases of the coronavirus, but a new report says almost 200 soldiers have died and thousands more are quarantined. About 180 North Korean soldiers have died as a result of the COVID-19 virus, according to South Korean news organization Daily NK. A source inside the North Korean military said an account regarding the impact from the virus on soldiers was sent to military leaders and reported the dozens of deaths and that about 3,700 soldiers were quarantined. The military source also said most of the soldiers who have died were stationed along the hermit nation’s border with China. Authorities have reportedly threatened to punish military officials who don’t properly follow disease control policy. Officers will “be held responsible for the deaths that have occurred in their units,” the source said.

Yonhap News Agency, another South Korean media outlet, reported Monday that 10,000 North Korean citizens were quarantined, but 4,000 have since been released. North Korean state media claimed Monday that the “infectious disease did not flow into our country yet,” according to Newsweek. North Korean media also said the threat the coronavirus could pose is “unpredictable” and that “work to completely lock down all routes through which the infectious disease can flow in — the border, sea, and air — should be continued with high intensity.” North Korea would be incredibly vulnerable to a widespread outbreak because of its poor infrastructure and healthcare capacity, according to experts. It neighbors China, which is where the COVID-19 outbreak began and where there have been more than 80,000 cases and at least 3,136 deaths.

The Democratic Party reportedly asked Twitter to do something about an edited video the Trump reelection campaign produced of former Vice President Joe Biden. The Democratic National Committee flagged the video on behalf of the former vice president, whose campaign is using members of the press to act as fact-checkers, the report noted, citing a Biden adviser. The party’s move was part of its program to stop the spread of disinformation in 2020. “This is an example of our ongoing disinformation work, and the same thing that we do for every campaign,” a DNC official said, according to The Daily Beast. Officials “flag activity to each of the campaigns, and have set them up with tools to receive regular activity alerts themselves,” the official added. The Daily Beast did not explain why the official was made anonymous , and neither the DNC nor Biden’s campaign have responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. Twitter declined comment.

The DNC was responding after White House social media director Dan Scavino shared version of the video on Twitter that showed Biden bumbling while articulating a point, telling an audience at a rally in Kansas City, Missouri Saturday: “Excuse me. We can only reelect Donald Trump.” The full, unedited video shows the former vice president saying: “Excuse me. We can only reelect Donald Trump if in fact we get engaged in this circular firing squad here. Trump’s campaign railed against Biden and Twitter after the social media giant labeled the edited video of the former vice president manipulated. “The Biden campaign is scared as hell that voters will see the flood of unedited and embarrassing verbal stumbles that will continue go viral if ‘Status Quo Joe’ is the nominee,” Trump campaign rapid response director Andrew Clark told Fox News on Monday. He added: “Twitter shouldn’t be an enforcement arm of Joe Biden’s campaign strategy, but if they choose to police every video clip they must hold his own campaign to the same standard.” The campaign has since asked Twitter to apply the same label to a tweet Biden shared March 3 before the policy against manipulated content went into place.

SEATTLE — As the number of coronavirus cases in Washington continue to grow, Gov. Inslee is planning to announce a ban on gatherings and events of more than 250 people in virtually the entire Seattle metro area to try to contain the coronavirus outbreak, the Associated Press reported Tuesday night.

Inslee is scheduled to hold a news conference for late Wednesday morning. The person who spoke about the decision late Tuesday was involved in the planning of the decision but spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

The person said the ban would apply to King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, which are home to almost 4 million people. The person said the order would not prohibit the operation of workplaces and is not expected to include school closures.
