Pozharskyi said that “the representatives of new authorities in power tend to quite aggressively approach N. Z. unofficially with the aim to obtain cash from him.”

N.Z. isn’t identified in the email but appears to be a reference to Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky, whose first name is a Ukrainian version of “Nicholas.”

When the alleged shakedown failed, “they proceeded with concrete actions” in the form of “one or more pretrial proceedings,” Pozharskyi wrote.

“We urgently need your advice on how you could use your influence to convey a message / signal, etc .to stop what we consider to be politically motivated actions,” he added.

Hunter Biden responded by saying he was with Archer in Doha, Qatar, and asked for more information about “the formal (if any) accusations being made against Burisma.”

“Who is ultimately behind these attacks on the company? Who in the current interim government could put an end to such attacks?” he added.

The exchange came the same day that Burisma announced it had expanded its board of directors by adding Hunter Biden, who was put in charge of its “legal unit and will provide support for the Company among international organizations,” according to a news release that’s since been scrubbed from Burisma’s website.

Hunter Biden actually joined the board in April 2014, according to multiple reports.

His lawyer said last year that Hunter was “not a member of the management team,” adding, “At no time was Hunter in charge of the company’s legal affairs.”

About four months after Hunter Biden’s correspondence with Pozharskyi, Archer forwarded Hunter Biden an email chain with the subject line “tax raise impact on Burisma production,” which included Pozharskyi saying that the Ukrainian cabinet had submitted new tax legislation to the country’s parliament.

“If enacted, this law would kill the entire private gas production sector in the bud,” Pozharskyi wrote.

In the Sept. 24, 2014, email, Pozharskyi also said he was “going to share this information with the US embassy here in Kyiv, as well as the office of Mr Amos Hochstein in the States.”

At the time, Hochstein was the State Department’s newly appointed special envoy and coordinator for international energy ­affairs.

In December 2017, the Naftogaz Group, Ukraine’s state-owned energy company, announced that Hochstein had joined the company as an independent director, but on Monday he announced his ­resignation.

“The company has been forced to spend endless amounts of time combating political pressure and efforts by oligarchs to enrich themselves through questionable transactions,” Hochstein wrote in an op-ed published by the Kyiv Post.

In addition to denying that’s he’s spoken to Hunter Biden about his overseas business dealings, Joe Biden has repeatedly denied any conflict of interest or wrongdoing by either of them involving ­Burisma.

Last February, he got testy during an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show when co-host Savannah Guthrie questioned whether it was “wrong for [Hunter] to take that position, knowing that it was really because that company wanted access to you.”

“Well, that’s not true. You’re saying things you do not know what you’re talking about,” the elder Biden responded.

Last December, Joe Biden also lashed out during a Democratic primary town hall event in Iowa, where a man accused him of sending Hunter to Ukraine “to get a job and work for a gas company, he had no experience with gas or nothing, in order to get access to . . . the president.”

“You’re a damn liar, man. That’s not true and no one has ever said that,” Biden fumed.

Biden then continued berating the man as he stepped forward, called the man “fat” and challenged him to “do push-ups together, man.”

The FBI referred questions about its seizure of the laptop and hard drive to the Delaware US Attorney’s Office, where a spokesperson said, “My office can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation.”

Hunter Biden’s lawyer refused to comment on the specifics but instead attacked Giuliani.

“He has been pushing widely discredited conspiracy theories about the Biden family, openly relying on actors tied to Russian intelligence,” the lawyer, George R. Mesires, said of Giuliani.

Pozharskyi and the Joe Biden campaign did not return requests for comment. Hochstein could not be reached.

CDC STUDY: MOST COVID-19 CASES WERE ADMITTED MASK WEARERS

A new study released by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released the findings of a new study, in which the overwhelming number of new coronavirus cases came from people who religiously wear masks. The study, which was released in September and ignored by mainstream media and politicians found that masks are ineffective at the prevention of viral infections.

The study, which was conducted in the United States in July found that when the CDC compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from the same health care facility who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask.

In the 14 days before illness onset, 71% of case-patients and 74% of control participants reported always using cloth face coverings or other mask types when in public,” the report stated.

In addition, over 14 percent of the case-patients said they “often” wore a face covering and were still infected with the virus. The study also demonstrates that under 4 percent of the case-patients became sick with the virus even though they “never” wore a mask or face covering.

Despite over 70 percent of the case-patient participants’ efforts to follow CDC recommendations by committing to always wearing face coverings at “gatherings with ≤10 or >10 persons in a home; shopping; dining at a restaurant; going to an office setting, salon, gym, bar/coffee shop, or church/religious gathering; or using public transportation,” they still contracted the virus. –The Federalist

This more than proves that face masks are ineffective at stopping COVID-19, so why does the CDC still recommend them? Is there something more sinister going on? That’s up to you to decide, but I would personally say it is more than a possibility.

ATF Suspends Attempt to Resurrect Obama-Era AR-15 Pistol Ban

Second Amendment groups urge admin to fully rescind order that could turn legal gun owners into felons

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has delayed a local field office's attempt to resurrect an Obama-era rule that threatens to turn millions of legal gun owners into criminals.

On Wednesday, the agency informed New Hampshire gun company Q LLC that it will not enforce a cease-and-desist order issued by its Boston branch. The Department of Justice is now reviewing the field office's decision to label an AR-15 featuring a specialized arm brace illegal.

"The purpose of this suspension is to allow the United States Department of Justice to further review the applicability of the National Firearms Act to the manufacture and transfer of the model ‘Honey Badger Pistol' firearm," ATF chief counsel Joel Roessner said in a letter. The move gave the gun company and owners of such weapons—which have been legal since 2012—a 60-day reprieve.

Gun-rights activists have been pressing the White House to rein in the agency since the Boston order became public. The controversy emerged three months before Election Day and could alienate a key Republican ally in the 2020 election. The National Rifle Association, which has pledged to spend millions on President Donald Trump's reelection, said the suspension does not go far enough.

"The ATF’s letter is a weak attempt to placate gun owners and does not resolve this issue," NRA spokeswoman Amy Hunter told the Washington Free Beacon. "The NRA will continue to fight to get a speedy and fair resolution from DOJ on this important matter."

Some gun-rights activists are now threatening to sue the federal government if the proposed ban is not completely revoked. Adam Kraut, director of legal strategy at the Firearms Policy Coalition, accused "rogue elements" at the ATF of trying to implement an "anti-gun owner agenda." He asked President Trump to fire or reassign the agents and lawyers involved in the cease-and-desist letter.

"I strongly suggest the reassignment of all offending rogue officers, attorneys, agents, and/or employees to areas of the Agency where they may not run wild with personal or prior administration’s agendas," Kraut said in a letter sent to the White House and Justice Department.

The ATF, its Boston field division, and the White House did not respond to requests for comment.

Three weeks ago, when looking at the latest EPFR fund flows we said that traders are getting whiplash after the "fastest ever fund flows swing from euphoria to despair" as US equity funds and ETFs reported $26.87 BN of outflows in the last week of September, the we observed the largest weekly outflow since December 2018 and the third largest outflow ever, more than reversing a $22.67bn inflow one week earlier; this was the third the biggest weekly swing in fund flows in history, and showed "how extreme market sentiment has become, and how it can seemingly swing overnight from euphoria to despair."

We also showed that similar, if even more acute swings, were observed in the QQQs the world's largest tech ETF which tracks the Nasdaq, saying that "the QQQ fund posted record $3.5 billion outflows on Monday amid a Nasdaq slump, then got $4 billion the following day as sentiment recovered."

In retrospect, this was not a bug but a feature, because today Bloomberg follows up on these wild swings, which have only gotten wilder since, and writes more than two weeks after our original observations that the "amount of cash cycling through one of the world’s largest exchange-traded funds is turning heads across Wall Street."

According to Bloomberg's calculations, the$146BN QQQ ETF, the largest tech ETF in the world, has seen a staggering $1.5 billion in daily flows (either in or out) over the past month, following the previously discussed largest withdrawal in two decades in late September, followed by its largest influx in the same time period one day later. The ETF saw $3 billion of inflows the following week, ahead of a $3 billion exit the next day. This week brought another $3.7 billion inflow in a single day.

The startling spike in the size of flows is clearly visible in the chart below, where the new "regime" is highlighted in yellow…

During the first week of October, Breitbart Texas cameras returned to Roma, Texas, to see how human smuggling changed since Fiscal Year 2019, when almost a million migrants were apprehended crossing the border between ports of entry. At this time, they sought out law enforcement–not make efforts to elude them.

The most significant shift in human smuggling occurred as a result of national policy changes from the Trump Administration in implementing the Migration Protection Protocols (MPP Program).

The MPP allows for foreign individuals entering or seeking admission to the U.S. – illegally or without proper documentation – to be returned to Mexico and wait for the duration of their immigration proceedings.

Border Patrol agents told Breitbart Texas that people crossing illegally today are mostly Mexican citizens, as opposed to the overwhelming number of Central Americans seen in FY2019. During the visit, Breitbart Texas cameras captured many illegal crossings between the ports of entry from the Roma Bluffs.

CBP agents were observed working closely together from the Office of Field Operations (OFO) and Border Patrol between the ports of entry, going from one part of Roma to the other especially during the morning hours of a shift change. It was obvious that human smuggling organizations in Mexico are aware when CBP personnel turnover because those periods were the busiest in terms of river traffic.

In 3 hours, Breitbart Texas documented 16 separate smuggling incidents. Rafts could be seen ferrying people to what is known as the Small Island — an international point in the middle of the river.

From there, some would walk the final, shallow stretch but others could be seen ferried via small rafts to U.S. soil. This area is called Salinas Crossing.

Within minutes, the smugglers would be observed walking back to the island and getting more people to cross. This went on for several morning until halting that afternoon.

Amid a bombshell report by The Post that Hunter Biden introduced his dad to an executive at Ukraine’s Burisma energy company less than a year before then-Vice President Joe Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor whose office investigated the company, Team Biden called a “lid” for reporters before 10 a.m.

“The Biden campaign has called a lid for in-person events,” wrote Biden press pool reporter Sabrina Siddiqui of the Wall Street Journal, indicating that the candidate would not be making any public appearances or fielding questions Wednesday.

Media vs. the People: The War over Pedophilia

The media have been working to normalize pedophilia, but the American people keep rejecting it. Until recently, the pedophilia-pushers suffered no serious consequences for their relentless campaign to sexualize children and groom them for adult exploitation. But the recent indictment of Netflix for distribution of child pornography has changed the dynamics.

A grand jury in Texas has indicted Netflix, a streaming giant with $20 billion in annual revenue, for allegedly promoting "lewd visual material" of a child. The indictment claims that Cuties, Netflix's much-hyped film, "depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created." Furthermore, Senator Ted Cruz has called on the Justice Department to investigate Netflix and the film's creators.

The reaction to Cuties has been a perfect distillation of the media versus the people: the media loved it, and the people hated it. Cuties came with the full backing of the political and cultural establishment through its Netflix association. Susan Rice, who served as Obama's national security adviser, serves on Netflix's board. Barack and Michelle Obama have a multi-million-dollar with Netflix to produce programming, as do Prince Harry and his wife.

Almost unanimously, the major film critics adored the award-winning Cuties, lavishing praise on it as "extraordinary," "inspired," and "empathetic and analytical." These arbiters of cultural standards dismissed criticism of the film's sexualization of children as closed-minded tripe from right-wing "pearl-clutchers."

But the American people despised Cuties and launched a campaign to cancel Netflix subscriptions. According to Variety, the backlash against Cuties caused Netflix cancelations to spike nearly eightfold, with 2.5 million people canceling their Netflix accounts. Rotten Tomatoes captured the split: 86% of critics praised it versus 15% of the audience.

Unfortunately, it's not just entertainment companies that promote pedophilia; Big Tech does it, too. Last year, to the public's dismay, Twitter changed its rules to accommodate pedophiles: "Discussions related to child sexual exploitation as a phenomenon or attraction towards minors are permitted, provided they don't promote or glorify child sexual exploitation in any way." And in 2018, Facebook startled users when it published a "stomach-churning survey that asked readers whether pedophiles should be allowed to solicit 'sexual pictures' from underage girls." After an outcry from the public, Mark Zuckerberg admitted that publishing the survey had been a "mistake." Facebook has been accused of failing to remove exploitative images of children and hosting a "Pedophiles Are People" page.

‘I’m Not Happy’ – President Trump Doesn’t Rule Out Replacing AG Barr if He Wins Second Term

President Trump on Wednesday didn’t rule out replacing Attorney General Bill Barr if he were to win in November.

“No comment” Trump told Newsmax host Greg Kelly. “I’m not happy with all of the evidence I have. I’m not happy. I can tell you that.”

President Trump made these statements to Newsmax after it was reported that Barr’s unmasking probe quietly concluded without charges.

The US Attorney tapped by Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate “unmasking” done by Obama’s criminal officials around the 2016 has concluded the probe without bringing any charges, according to the Washington Post.

US Attorney John Bash reportedly found no evidence of wrongdoing and concluded the probe without charges and without a public report.

The probe into unmasking was launched in May of this year after then-acting DNI Richard Grenell declassified the list of Obama officials involved in the unmasking of General Mike Flynn in his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Names included former CIA Director John Brennan, Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power and former DNI chief James Clapper.

Joe Biden was also on the list!

US Attorney John Bash was also investigating whether Obama officials leaked information to reporters, but found no wrongdoing.

US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham is currently investigating the origins of Spygate and according to Barr, there won’t be any indictments and or report until after the election.

Although an entire cabal of high ranking FBI and DOJ officials unleashed the might of the US government on Trump to remove him from office by illegally spying on him with wiretaps, only one FBI lawyer has been indicted by Durham on one count of false statements.

Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes’ scattershot bid to nix charges goes down hard

Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes threw her criminal indictments and charges against the wall to see if she could get any to fall away, but they all stuck.

The Stanford University dropout, charged with a dozen felony counts of fraud over her defunct Palo Alto blood-testing startup, filed six motions in U.S. District Court in San Jose in late August, seeking to have indictments and charges thrown out.

On Tuesday, Judge Edward Davila denied all of them, paving the way for a trial scheduled to begin in March.

To Holmes’ claim that her right to a speedy trial had been violated because federal prosecutors unreasonably delayed filing two indictments, Davila found the bulk of the delay resulted from her legal team’s request for more time before trial, with the coronavirus pandemic subsequently pushing that date further into the future.

Holmes’ lawyers had argued that holding a trial concerning events going back more than a decade means witnesses could be unavailable or have fading memories, Davila noted, but their argument was “too vague and speculative” to indicate her rights would be harmed, he wrote.

Also, Davila wrote, the matter is complex. “The case involves two fraud conspiracies with multiple victims, two co-defendants, and voluminous discovery,” he wrote. “The Court finds that the length of the delay was ‘not excessive’ in light of this complexity.”

Another Holmes motion argued that a half-dozen charges should be thrown out because two later indictments broadened the charges against her, violating the statute of limitations, which governs the length of time that can pass between an alleged offense and the start of legal action. Because the charges in all three indictments against Holmes are “substantially the same,” however, Davila nixed the motion.

A third motion making similar claims about the statute of limitations failed on similar grounds. And Holmes’ motion to dismiss her two most-recent indictments, on the basis that in expanding the definition of investors they became impermissibly vague, also failed to convince Davila. “The Court is not persuaded that there has been any expansion in the definition of ‘investors,'” he wrote.

Holmes, who founded Theranos in 2003, is charged with allegedly bilking investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars, and defrauding patients with false claims that the company’s machines could conduct a full range of tests using just a few drops of blood. She and her co-accused, former company president Sunny Balwani, have denied the allegations.

Two other motions Davila rejected argued that some of Holmes’ charges duplicated each other and that the recent indictments violated a previous decision by Davila, while the remaining motion repeated previous claims he had ruled against.

Holmes faces a potential 20-year prison sentence, up to $2.75 million in fines, and possible restitution to investors the government alleges lost more than $700 million. The federal government has said that if she’s found guilty, it will go after any ill-gotten money or assets she may have. Plaintiffs in a separate civil case are seeking unspecified damages.

Dismemberment Abortion Ban Ruled Unconstitutional by Fifth Circuit

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled that Texas’ law against dismemberment abortions is unconstitutional.

According to documents filed yesterday, the court found that Senate Bill 8, which outlawed abortions by dismemberment, placed an undue burden on women seeking abortions by requiring providers to perform the act while the child is still inside the uterus instead of on the way out.

Dismemberment abortions, also called dilation and evacuation or D&E abortions, sever the fetal tissue as the body leaves the womb. By outlawing such abortions except in cases of emergency, SB 8 essentially required abortion providers to abort the child in the womb before removal. The state proposed three alternatives to dismemberment to achieve “fetal demise in utero”: injecting digoxin into the child or amniotic fluid, injecting potassium chloride directly into the child’s heart, or cutting the umbilical cord. The court ruled these processes to be an “invasive” and “extra, otherwise unnecessary procedure” that placed an undue burden on women seeking abortions.

“Because fetal tissue separates as a physician removes it from the uterus during the D&E procedure, SB 8 prohibits such abortions unless the physician first ensures fetal demise in utero—an invasive, additional step that is not part of the D&E procedure,” the ruling reads.

“[SB 8] thus requires an abortion provider performing a D&E to carry out an extra, otherwise unnecessary procedure in the woman’s body to bring about fetal demise.”

The majority opinion, issued by Justices James Dennis and Carl Stewart, affirmed the judgment of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

The challenge to the law, defended in court by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as well as the criminal district attorneys for Tarrant and McLennan Counties, came from various abortion providers and physicians including branches of Planned Parenthood and Whole Woman’s Health. As summarized in the ruling, Paxton and the defendants argued that aborting the child within the womb does not constitute an obstacle to abortion.

“[The state] responds that the Act does not impermissibly restrict abortion access because there are procedures that cause fetal death in utero that must be used in addition to D&E to ensure an SB 8-compliant abortion,” the ruling reads.

“The State insists that SB 8 does not constitute an undue burden because several ‘alternative methods’ of causing fetal demise are available and safe.”

In response, the court observed that “fetal-demise procedures are not, by definition, alternative procedures because a patient who endures such a procedure must still undergo the entirety of a standard D&E.”

The majority opinion holds that the language of SB 8, though graphic, fairly describes the process of D&E abortions and notes that they are the most common method of abortion in Texas and the nation after the first 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Justice Don Willett dissented and will file a dissenting opinion.

SB 8 was authored by Senator Charles Schwertner (R-Georgetown), an orthopedic surgeon and former member of the Texas House, and Sens. Donna Campbell (R-New Braunfels), Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham), Jane Nelson (R-Fort Worth), and Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) also co-authored the bill.

Police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are investigating at least one case of reportedly stolen mail in Denver this week, though few details are available, officials said.

At least one apartment complex in Cheesman Park reported that its locked mail box was opened and its contents stolen, confirmed James Boxrud, spokesperson for the Postal Service’s western area.

It’s unclear, however, precisely which apartment or apartments were hit, when the reported crime occurred and what might have been stolen, Boxrud said. Those and other details are under investigation by Denver police and the service’s inspection service.

The report comes as Denverites receive their ballots for the 2020 election in the mail. Locally, those ballots went out Friday. Posts on the social media website Nextdoor indicated several residents were concerned ballots were the target. Those fears pile on to nationwide concern of widespread interference with the presidential election, much of which will be handled more by mail than ever before.

Rouhani: Iran entitled to free arms trade in days with UN ban expiry

President Hassan Rouhani says Iran will be free to trade weapons as of Sunday after the United States failed in its attempts to secure an extension of the United Nations arms embargo against the Islamic Republic.

Speaking during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Rouhani congratulated the Iranian nation on the lifting within days of the “oppressive” 10-year arms ban on the Islamic Republic despite Washington’s struggles to keep the restrictions in force.

“We fought with the United States on this issue for four years. America was exerting itself to prevent this day (October 18) from coming, [but] that day is coming thanks to our people’s resistance. It is because of the endeavors of our diplomats that the US failed,” he said.

Rouhani also noted that the lifting of the arms embargo was a fruit of the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), for the country.

The JCPOA “removed the arms embargo and as of Sunday, we can buy weapons from and sell weapons to any [country] we want,” he added.

The embargo will be lifted under UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2231, which endorsed the JCPOA.

Wall Street is Cooking Up Another “2008-Style Housing Crash” and They Plan on Using Joe Biden’s Presidency to Launch It

In 2008, disastrous policies by America’s political and financial elite caused the worst financial calamity since the Great Depression. Ever since that crash, the American middle and working classes have been in decline. But the plutocrat class came out of the disaster richer and more powerful than ever. So it’s hardly surprising that right now, they’re laying the groundwork for another housing bubble, and another disastrous crash. And Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is egging it on.

On Thursday, banking giant JPMorgan Chase announced a $30 billion plan to “advance racial equity”:

The New York bank said it is committing $30 billion over the next five years toward programs that include earmarking more money for getting Black and Latino families into homeownership and providing additional financing to build affordable rental housing units.

“Systemic racism is a tragic part of America’s history,” said JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon in a statement. “We can do more and do better to break down systems that have propagated racism and widespread economic inequality.” [AP]

Specifically, JPMorgan’s plan is to create thousands of new mortgages based not on creditworthiness but on skin color:

As part of our commitment to promote and expand affordable housing and homeownership for underserved communities, we will take actions to increase equity, affordability and access to housing by:

Originating 40,000 new home purchase loans for Black and Latinx households through an additional $8 billion commitment in mortgages

Helping an additional 20,000 Black and Latinx households achieve lower mortgage payments through refinancing loans totaling up to $4 billion

Financing an additional 100,000 affordable rental units through a $14 billion commitment in new loans, equity investments and other efforts [JPMorgan]

JPMorgan’s new loan pledges are based on the idea that its lending practices have been racist, and that it has so far refused to provide profitable home loans to minority communities for no other reason besides prejudice. Its solution is to lower standards to provide loans it previously would not have, in the name of greater equality.

JPMorgan isn’t just pledging its own money to this foolish cause. In the company’s announcement, it vows to lobby Congress for changes to the law it says will generate another $500 billion in mortgages for those whose credit is currently too poor to obtain one.

It is no exaggeration to say that this is the exact recipe for another calamitous housing crash and economic disaster for all Americans. And we know this because it’s the same strategy used prior to the 2008 housing crash.

For decades, both political parties have sought higher home ownership rates in America. This isn’t a bad thing. People who own their own homes are more invested in their communities, have a stake in society, and have something to be proud of. But home ownership can only be effectively increased by keeping houses affordable, and by providing the wages and economic stability people need to make payments on them.

Instead, JPMorgan is pushing more debt and lower standards for favored races and acting like this magically will not result in a cascade of defaults by borrowers.

Two decades ago, George W. Bush embraced the same disastrous thinking.

Hunter Biden Email Bombshell: Obama Conference Call Addressing US Policy Toward Ukraine Leaked to Burisma

Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon, via The New York Post dropped an October surprise on Joe Biden Wednesday morning.

Biden immediately went into hiding and let the tech giants and media sycophants run cover for him.

The New York Post reported Wednesday that a laptop computer abandoned at a Delaware repair shop contains emails between Hunter Biden and a senior Burisma adviser that indicate Hunter Biden arranged a meeting between his father then-Vice President Joe Biden and the adviser in Washington, D.C. in 2015.

According to Hunter Biden’s emails, Obama’s conference call on Joe Biden’s upcoming trip to the Ukraine in December of 2015 was leaked to Blue Star Strategies, a Democrat PR firm that worked for Burisma Holdings.

An associate of Blue Star then emailed several minutes of the conference call in a memo to top Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi as well as Hunter and his business partner Devon Archer (both of them sat on the board of Burisma at the time).

Biden’s trip to the Ukraine in December 2015 is very significant because it is when he is seen on video bragging that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in US aid to Ukraine unless they fired Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor general investigating Burisma.

The New York Post reported:

The Obama administration let a Democratic p.r. company that worked for Ukrainian energy firm Burisma take part in a conference call about an upcoming visit to Ukraine by then-Vice President Joe Biden, emails obtained by The Post show.

An associate at Blue Star Strategies then emailed a memo with minutes of the conference call hosted by the White House to a top Burisma executive, Vadym Pozharskyi, as well as to Joe Biden’s son Hunter and Hunter’s business partner, Devon Archer, both of whom sat on Burisma’s board.

The trip, in December 2015, turned out to be the one during which Biden later bragged about forcing Ukrainian officials to fire a state prosecutor who was investigating Burisma by threatening to withhold a $1 billion US loan guarantee.

The memo, sent shortly after the Dec. 2, 2015, call, also “outlined the trip’s agenda and addressed several questions regarding US policy toward Ukraine.”

Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Ron Johnson told Fox News that his committee launched a probe into Hunter Biden’s hard drive.

Former high school football coach charged with sexually abusing players

A former Maryland high school football coach has been charged with sexually abusing two players — and detectives believe he may have victimized others as well, police said.

Christopher Papadopoulos, 26, of Gaithersburg, was arrested Monday after two of the former assistant coach’s players at Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville accused him of sexually abusing them while on the varsity football team, Montgomery County police said Tuesday.

The “sexual interactions” between Papadopoulos and the former student-athletes took place after school and not on school property, police said. An investigation into the accusations was launched in late February.

“Detectives learned that Papadopoulos sexually abused and exploited the first victim on multiple occasions,” police said in a statement. “Detectives also learned that Papadopoulos sexually abused and solicited the second victim.”

Court records obtained by the Washington Post show that Papadopoulos allegedly fondled the two players in 2017 after luring them with private training sessions. The illicit sexual contact took place at Papadopoulos’ home, as well as that of one of the teens, the newspaper reported.

Both teens were 17 at the time of the alleged abuse and Papadopoulos — who was then 23 — was like a “father figure” to one of the students, his mother told police.

Prosecutor Adrienne Ferrell said in court Tuesday that Papadopoulos used his “position of authority” to groom and sexually assault the players, according to the Washington Post.

Ferrell also said one incident did occur on school property, contradicting an earlier statement by police.

“It actually happened in a private room at Wootton High School,” Ferrell said.

The prosecutor also accused Papadopoulos of communicating with one player on Snapchat during the 2017 season. The teen later awoke in his basement to find the assistant coach fondling him after the pair drank alcohol together, the Washington Post reported.

An attorney for Papadopoulos, meanwhile, dismissed the accusations as false, claiming an independent investigation by her office led to “very different stories,” the newspaper reported.

“I cannot deny the allegations strong enough on behalf of my client,” attorney Rene Sandler said.

Papadopoulos, who was hired by Montgomery County Public Schools in 2016, has been placed on administrative leave, school officials said Tuesday.

“These charges are troubling, completely unacceptable and represent a violation of the core values of our school and school system,” Wootton High School principal Kimberly Boldon said in a statement.

“This behavior does not reflect the principles of MCPS or our community and it will not be tolerated.”

Papadopoulos was released from custody Tuesday after posting $15,000 bond, WTTG reported.

Detectives believe Papadopoulos may have victimized others and are asking with additional information to contact Montgomery County police at (240) 773-5400.

Trump called out some of them as “globalists” who benefited from the policies of the administration led by former President Barack Obama and Biden.

“The last administration sold out American workers like never before, and they sold them to donor’s special interests and globalists,” Trump noted. “And if you take a look we have probably plenty of them watching right now, and I understand where you are coming from but it didn’t work out too well with me.”

He also called out previous trade deals written by lobbyists and big business interests that lacked fairness and reciprocity.

“Again, some of you,” he said to the audience.

The president boasted that he presided over the greatest economy in American history before the coronavirus pandemic and said he would do it again.

“I will deliver optimism, opportunity, and growth; they will deliver pessimism, stagnation, decline, and very high taxes,” he said. “Simply put, it’s a choice between a socialist nightmare and the American dream.”

The president also criticized Democrat states for on-going damaging coronavirus lockdown policies, hurting the overall economic and physical health of the country.

“The cure cannot be worse than the problem itself and that’s what a lot of states run by Democrats have done to their people,” he said.

Lawsuit Documents Allege James Biden Committed Fraud, Racketeering

In January the FBI raided the offices of Americore Health, a health care company that manages rural hospitals, where James Biden, brother of former vice president candidate and current presidential candidate Joe Biden, was a major investor. Documents prepared as part of an ongoing lawsuit against Biden and his business partners, hedge fund managers Michael Lewitt and Amer Rustom, allege they are in violation of Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and have committed fraud related to their investments in Americore and another company, Diverse Medical Management. The documents, prepared in March, were never submitted to the court and sources now say the lawsuit is headed for a settlement.

In the documents, Grant White, the former CEO of Americore, makes detailed allegations that Biden’s corrupt business practices helped drive his company into bankruptcy. White also alleges that Biden and Lewitt improperly took money meant for company operations and lined their own pockets. He further alleges that Biden failed to make good on promises that his political connections would deliver large investments from the Middle East.

A filing in federal bankruptcy court in February by the federal trustee, Paul A. Randolph, alleges White has “grossly mismanaged” his business; “has not operated the hospitals in a manner that is consistent with public safety”; and “improperly siphoned money from the Debtors for his personal benefit.” The court subsequently removed White as CEO of Americore by the court. In a lengthy missive to legal commentator Jonathan Turley’s blog in March, Michael Lewitt questioned White’s credibility at length.

However, White was prepared to submit a sworn declaration in the ongoing lawsuit against Biden and his business partners backing up his allegations. Further, he turned over a significant number of primary documents undergirding these claims that were reviewed for this article.

“[Biden told me] there’s not a single door in the country that we can’t open. So if I wanted to meet, you know, the head of Google, it’s a phone call,” White says. “He always represented himself as the fundraiser for his brother’s campaigns… he was the guy raising the money and so he knew everybody.”

According to White, James Biden, along with hedge fund managers Michael Lewitt and Amer Rustom, became enamored of Americore’s business model and approached White about investing in the company. They agreed to enter into business together on the promise that Biden and his partners would be able to deliver upwards of $30 million to invest in Americore.

The professional journos are at it again. A New York Post report on Hunter Biden's emails suggests the renegade son of the former vice president attempted to introduce his dad to a Ukrainian oil executive in 2015. Members of the news media seized on the report, urging "caution" and admonishing their colleagues for sharing it on social media.

Members of the media have not always displayed such skepticism when it comes to promoting salacious claims about a prominent political figure. The professional journos were not as hesitant, for example, to amplify outlandish (and false) accusations of gang rape against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his 2018 confirmation hearing.

MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin spoke for many of his journo colleagues when he urged his followers not to share the New York Post report, which he said would amount to "amplifying what appears to be disinformation."

Griffin and his boss, Lawrence O'Donnell, were less concerned with amplifying flawed accusations in 2018, when the MSNBC host interviewed media darling Michael Avenatti about his client, Julie Swetnick, whose lurid accusation against Kavanaugh fell apart upon minimal scrutiny.

Avenatti, who has since been convicted of fraud, and Swetnick were eventually referred to the Department of Justice for making "materially false claims" to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The media did not, to say the least, exercise caution when it came to amplifying their claims.

A Catholic priest challenging California's lockdown rules says that religious believers deserve to be treated the same as Lakers fans, thousands of whom gathered in Los Angeles following its NBA title clincher.

Father Trevor Burfitt of Our Lady of the Angels Church said the chaotic celebrations that followed Sunday's NBA championship demonstrates the "biased and inequitable treatment" that local authorities and California Democratic governor Gavin Newsom have shown to his parishioners.

"Governor Newsom's endless shutdowns and discriminatory edicts are interfering in the worship by God's people, something that was expressly forbidden in the foundational documents of this nation and is echoed in the constitutions of states across the country," Burfitt said. "Governor Newsom's biased and inequitable treatment of the Church is piercing the souls of faithful Catholics, myself included."

Burfitt, who filed a lawsuit against Newsom to end the state's indefinite state of emergency in response to the coronavirus, contrasted the return of in-person services with the behavior exhibited by local fans. The massive—and violent—gatherings of Lakers fans saw clashes with police and at least 76 arrests as fans climbed on top of vehicles and threw glass bottles, rocks, and other objects at police officers. The police department said that more than 30 buildings were vandalized.

Newsom tweeted out a congratulatory message to the team on Sunday night. His statement failed to make any mention of the crowd sizes outside of the Lakers arena. In response to a request for comment, Newsom's office pointed to the governor's press conference on Monday where Newsom addressed the gathering.

"We saw some images last night that are a point of obvious concern as it relates to the transmission of the virus," Newsom said. "We just ask people to be cautious, to be mindful, at the same time they celebrate this historic victory."

A spokesman for Democratic mayor Eric Garcetti's office told the Washington Free Beacon that the mayor was grateful to the city's inhabitants who stayed home and celebrated. "Using occasions like this one to attack officers, vandalize businesses, and destroy property is unacceptable, and we will make sure the few people who engaged in this behavior face consequences for their actions," the spokesman said. He did not specifically mention any coronavirus restrictions nor address the crackdown on local churches.

Los Angeles County did not respond to a request for comment.

US President Donald Trump has taken notice of the social media crackdown on the New York Post over a story about his challenger Joe Biden’s son Hunter and his business dealings in Ukraine, urging a crackdown on platforms instead.

“So terrible that Facebook and Twitter took down the story of ‘Smoking Gun’ emails related to Sleepy Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the [New York Post],” Trump tweeted on Wednesday evening.

“REPEAL SECTION 230!!!” the president added, referring to the provision in the Communications Decency Act shielding social media platforms from legal liability if they act “in good faith” to remove objectionable content posted by users.

Since then, Facebook, Twitter, Alphabet and others have invoked it as grounds to police any content they deem inappropriate – including the ever-shifting definitions of “potential harm” and “election interference.”

A Facebook executive who previously worked for Senate Democrats has openly admitted the New York Post article would be suppressed even before “independent fact-checkers” could look at it, while Twitter outright blocked the link to the story from being shared, claiming it was “potentially harmful.”

It was a drastic reaction to a story citing emails found on a laptop left at a Delaware repair shop, purporting to show communications between Hunter Biden and executives of Burisma, a gas company in Ukraine that hired the son of Barack Obama’s vice president in 2014, supposedly as protection from extortion by the US-backed government in Kiev.

“It is only the beginning for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician,” Trump said cryptically in his tweet, suggesting more information is forthcoming.

Shortly thereafter, his son Donald Trump Junior said it was "time to break up Big Tech. Their total bias and flagrant suppression of information can’t stand in America."

US threatens sanctions against banks over Hong Kong crackdown

The U.S. State Department on Wednesday warned international financial institutions doing business with individuals deemed responsible for China's crackdown in Hong Kong that they could soon face tough sanctions.

In a report to Congress, the State Department named 10 people, including Hong Kong's chief executive Carrie Lam, all of whom have already been sanctioned, and said within 60 days it would identify financial institutions that conduct significant transactions with them. It was the latest U.S. response to China's actions in Hong Kong, including enactment of a new national security law this year that Washington has called an unacceptable breach of China's "one country, two systems" commitments toward the former British colony.

The State Department report, required under the Hong Kong Autonomy Act, comes at a time when relations between the United States and China, the world's two biggest economies, have plunged to the lowest point in decades in the run-up to President Donald Trump's Nov. 3 re-election bid. In August, Washington put sanctions on Lam, the territory's current and former police chiefs and other top officials for what Washington says is their role in curtailing freedoms in a crackdown on the territory's pro-democracy movement. Wednesday's State Department document did not add any new individuals to the list nor did it name any banks or other financial institutions that might be at risk for penalties.

But the report put the firms on notice that they could be subject to so-called secondary sanctions, including restrictions on U.S. loans, foreign exchange, property transactions, exports and transfers, in addition to measures against their executives. Senior British and U.S. politicians have recently criticized HSBC and Standard Chartered after the banks backed China's national security law for the territory. "The release of this report underscores our ongoing objection to Beijing’s actions that are intentionally designed to erode the freedoms of the people of Hong Kong and impose the CCP’s oppressive policies," State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.

The U.S. Hong Kong Autonomy Act that Trump signed into law on July 14, required the State Department to list those people deemed responsible for communist-ruled China's failure to meet its obligations toward Hong Kong within 90 days and which makes them liable for sanctions. It also requires a list of any financial institutions that knowingly conduct significant financial transactions with such persons no more than 60 days after that. It allows the U.S. president to impose sanctions on individuals as soon as they are named and calls for sanctions on the financial institutions no later than a year after they are identified.

In June, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused HSBC of "corporate kowtows" to Beijing. HSBC has faced mounting pressure from China on one side and Britain and the United States on the other in recent months over its stance on Hong Kong. In June HSBC’s Asia-Pacific CEO, Peter Wong, signed a petition supporting Beijing’s plans to impose new security legislation on Hong Kong, prompting strong criticism from the U.S. and British governments. Hong Kong is HSBC’s most profitable market and expansion across China is central to its growth strategy, making a close relationship with Beijing critical.

Global banks in Hong Kong have been examining whether their clients in their territory have ties to the city’s pro-democracy movement, in an attempt to avoid getting caught in the crosshairs of the security law, Reuters reported in July.

Economic: Marxism is derived from a false description of the origination of money incomes in human civilization. Marx, following Adam Smith, believed that in the "early and rude state of society", if there ever was such a time, that the very first monetary incomes earned were wages, and that later on with the introduction of people acting in the capacity of "capitalists", there was a reduction in wages and introduction of profits. This is the conceptual framework of Marx's exploitation theory which is what EVERY Marxist institution depends on and takes for granted as true. The reality is that PROFITS were the first monetary income. In the "early and rude state of society" people made products directly from the material world around them, and sold them as commodities. The monetary incomes earned on the sale of commodities is product sales revenues, not wages. Since there were originally no money costs of production, all of the sales revenues were profit. Then, once people became wealthy enough and saved money for investment, instead of using it to consume right away, money began being used to pay people not for their commodities, which requires land and means of production of their own, but for only their labor. This was the onset of wages. Wages represented a monetary cost to DEDUCT from product sales revenues, which used to be all profit, but was now less than 100% by whatever extent wages were paid.

One of this year's October surprises happens to be regarding Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his sexual assault accuser, Tara Reade.

Reade, a longtime Democrat, is planning to release a memoir on Oct. 27 titled "Left Out: When the Truth Doesn't Fit In," which details her experience after publicly sharing her allegation against Biden, who she claims sexually assaulted her while she worked for him in 1993. Biden was a senator at the time.

In her memoir, according to the promotional website, Reade promises to share "the aftermath of the re-victimization of speaking out about her sexual assault, with then Senator Joe Biden in 1993, where the shaming, attacks, and threats instigated by the media sent her into a personal tailspin."

"Tara-rized viciously by cyber bullies, receiving death threats and fearing for her life and those of her family, Tara tells how living with no regret and coming forward was right for her conscious," the website states.

In an article published Tuesday, Reade told Fox News that "by being really frank about my life, about what has happened to me, and how I keep forward," she hopes her work will help others who have also been victims.

But Reade told Fox she doesn't think the timing of her memoir's planned release by TVGuestpert Publishing will affect Biden's election chances because of the prevalence of early voting.

"It doesn't have anything to do with the election," she told Fox. "I do discuss Joe Biden and how I experienced Joe Biden as a staffer and as a woman. And it was not a positive experience, yet he is going to the most powerful position in the Western world."

Still, whether Reade intended to or not, her memoir may have an effect on voter turnout for Biden as the publicity will certainly bring Reade's allegation against the Democratic presidential candidate back to the public eye with only weeks before Election Day.

This is also an occasion for voters to remember Biden's running mate Sen. Kamala Harris' opinion on Biden's accusers. Only last year before she was selected by Biden as his vice-presidential running mate, of course Harris stated that she believed these women.

In April 2019, a reporter asked Harris' at a campaign event in Nevada, "Senator, the question for you is, as someone who has a relationship with Vice President Biden, what message would you give to the women who feel like their space has been invaded in the past by the Vice President?"

"I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it," Harris responded.

Friendly fire? Leaked chat suggests toppling incumbent Seattle Democrats

As ballots drop this week, some of the most influential unions in Washington are pouring big money into an Eastside legislative race, trying to unseat moderate Democratic state Sen. Mark Mullet.

Labor-backed political-action committees supporting Mullet’s progressive Democratic challenger, Ingrid Anderson, have spent more than $1 million — the most on behalf of any legislative candidate so far this year.

The money gush isn’t done — an additional $510,000 in donations to a pro-Anderson PAC were reported on Monday, according to filings with the state Public Disclosure Commission.

The flex of political muscle against a Democratic incumbent could be a harbinger.

If the effort to oust Mullet succeeds, leaked chat messages from a political consultant this week suggest other incumbent Democratic legislators deemed insufficiently pro-labor could be targeted in 2022 — including two veteran Seattle lawmakers.

In the private online chat, a screenshot of which was obtained by The Seattle Times, an associate at a prominent Democratic consulting firm on Monday pointed to state Sens. Jamie Pedersen and Reuven Carlyle of Seattle, and Steve Hobbs, of Lake Stevens, as potential targets in 2022.

“Jamie, Reuven, Hobbs all getting primaried in 2022 if this ends up working. (Good!),” wrote Jamie Housen, an associate at NWP Consulting, the consulting firm founded by longtime Democratic consultant Christian Sinderman.

Sinderman replied in the chat that he’d recently spoken with Carlyle for 30 minutes on the subject.

“He will lose. I mean maybe not, but he deserves to,” Housen responded.

Both Sinderman and Housen downplayed the exchange as casual banter.

“It’s hot take by a young operative that certainly doesn’t reflect my opinions or any official statement at all,” Sinderman said, whose firm is working on the Anderson campaign.

The screenshot was captured by someone who saw it because Sinderman had the chat window open while sharing his screen on an unrelated Zoom call about a political mailer. He called the leak “shocking and disrespectful.”

In a direct message on Twitter, Housen, a relatively new associate at NWP, said: “It’s disheartening that a few private, irreverent texts were made public.”

Pedersen, who represents Seattle’s ultraliberal 43rd Legislative District, who had seen the chat messages, said he believes the spending against Mullet “absolutely” is a “shot across the bow” aimed at other elected Democrats.

“If you think they are spending $2 million just on Mark Mullet — it’s not rational. These are smart, strategic people that we are talking about. So clearly the purpose of it has to be to intimidate people,” said Pedersen. “There is no other way to understand it.”

Carlyle, who represents Seattle’s 36th Legislative District, said he didn’t take the chat messages seriously and had a “very thoughtful” conversation with Sinderman. “I think this is an unfortunate product of political chatter … from a young, inexperienced person learning the ropes,” he said.

The race between Mullet and Anderson is a rare instance of powerful Democratic Party-aligned groups seeking to take down a Democratic incumbent.

The intraparty fight in East King County’s 5th Legislative District is both a display of raw political power and a reflection of frustration among progressives at Mullet’s opposition to policies such as a capital-gains tax on the wealthiest Washingtonians.

In an unusual move, Gov. Jay Inslee has weighed in, endorsing Anderson and criticizing Mullet for opposing a proposed clean-fuel standard to reduce automobile emissions.

The district, which stretches from Lake Sammamish to Snoqualmie Pass, includes all or most of Issaquah, North Bend, Maple Valley, Black Diamond and Carnation. Not long ago, it had been considered a swing district which elected Republicans. Mullet, a businessman, was elected in 2012, running as a moderate.

Mullet said the massive spending against him is puzzling as he has sided with Inslee, unions and climate activists more often than not. “They want to send a message to every other Democrat that if you are not with them 100%, they will take you out,” he said.

When it comes to PAC support, Mullet is far from defenseless. Business-backed PACs already have put more than $550,000 into independent expenditures on his behalf. And his own campaign committee has raised roughly $390,000 to Anderson’s $190,000.

The images contained in the articles include personal and private information — like email addresses and phone numbers — which violate our rules.

As noted this morning, we also currently view materials included in the articles as violations of our Hacked Materials Policy.

Commentary on or discussion about hacked materials, such as articles that cover them but do not include or link to the materials themselves, aren’t a violation of this policy. Our policy only covers links to or images of hacked material themselves.

The policy, established in 2018, prohibits the use of our service to distribute content obtained without authorization. We don’t want to incentivize hacking by allowing Twitter to be used as distribution for possibly illegally obtained materials.

We know we have more work to do to provide clarity in our product when we enforce our rules in this manner. We should provide additional clarity and context when preventing the Tweeting or DMing of URLs that violate our policies.

We recognize that Twitter is just one of many places where people can find information online, and the Twitter Rules are intended to protect the conversation on our service, and to add context to people’s experience where we can.

Unofficial ballot boxes are legal and they’ll keep using them, California Republicans tell state officials

Unofficial ballot boxes are legal, California Republican leaders said Wednesday, saying they will continue to use them despite cease and desist orders from the California Attorney General and Secretary of State.

They told told reporters that any box marked “official” was an error made by volunteers and has been corrected. But the party said it will continue to collect vote-by-mail ballots that are voluntarily delivered to local party offices or headquarters.

“In this case, voters have decided, for themselves, that they trust the staff and volunteers at their local political Party headquarters, or their church, or a business that they patronize, to securely deliver their completed VBM ballot to the appropriate election official,” party officials said in a letter to Secretary of State Alex Padilla on Wednesday.

The incident highlights a longstanding rift between Republicans and Democrats over the practice of ballot collection, sometimes called ballot harvesting. Ballot collection allows a designated person to deliver a voter’s mail ballot for them, and Californians have been doing it for years. More recently, party or campaign volunteers have been allowed to go door-to-door and offer to return ballots on voters’ behalf.

California Republicans have decried the change supported by state Democrats, saying it opens the door to voter fraud and puts ballots in jeopardy. Now, they are using the same law to collect ballots of their own.

“We believe that temporarily holding VBM ballots in a locked box at a church or local Party headquarters is more secure than a Party volunteer or paid operative holding harvested ballots collected from voters at a senior center in the back seat of his or her car – though both are legal,” the party said in its letter to state leaders.

State Democratic leaders swiftly condemned the unofficial drop boxes, issuing a cease and desist letter to the state and local Republicans. Attorney General Xavier Becerra and Secretary of State Alex Padilla said they were “prepared to take action to enforce state law, should it become necessary.”

State law requires those who deliver another person’s ballot to sign the envelope and state their relationship to the voter. Therefore, Democrats say, unofficial drop boxes are not permitted, because the voter has not designated a specific person to deliver the ballot.

But the law also states that a ballot will not be rejected solely because the returner did provide their information on the envelope. This provision, Republicans argue, allows ballots to be collected by private individuals or organizations en masse without identifying a specific returner.

“The California Republican Party opposes ballot harvesting and wishes you had enacted adequate ballot security provisions after the laws were changed,” the party wrote in a letter to Padilla Wednesday. “Its program of collecting (not soliciting) VBM ballots from voters who voluntarily choose to entrust their ballot to the Party volunteers, is more secure, by far, than the door-to-door solicitation we have seen from the Democrat Party.”

Republicans argue that Democrats have done a similar practice of collecting ballots through neighborhood “hubs.” The party provided state officials with materials that appear to be from Democratic Congressman Harley Rouda’s campaign. The materials outline a “Harley neighborhood ballot hub,” such as a porch or outside of someone’s home, where voters can drop off the ballots. Hubs would be staffed by volunteer ballot collectors.

Officials with both Becerra’s and Padilla’s offices said they have received the letter and are reviewing it.

Republicans say they will continue to collect mail ballots, keep them in a locked and secure box, and deliver them to elections officials within 72 hours. The party will also ensure the boxes are consistently monitored and they will not be kept outdoors or represented as “official” drop boxes.

The boxes, and instructions on their proper use, will be available to any person or organization that wants to collect ballots, the party said.

Democrats across the state, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, have criticized the party and said the unofficial drop boxes must be removed. In a call with reporters on Wednesday, Marc Elias, legal counsel for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said the party could face sanctions if they don’t comply with state orders.

“They are in serious legal jeopardy right now for the actions they’ve taken,” Elias said. “Having been formally warned by the state of California that what they’re doing is illegal, if they act in defiance of that, that they risk significant sanctions by the state of California.”
