US Marshals find 25 missing kids in NE Ohio, including one in Mansfield

MANSFIELD – The U.S. Marshal Service has found 25 missing children in northeast Ohio, including one in Mansfield, during a monthlong investigation, according to Ann Murphy, public affairs officer for the U.S. Marshal Service, Northern District of Ohio.

Of these cases, about one-quarter are confirmed to be related to human trafficking or prostitution, Murphy said in a news release Thursday.

The U.S. Marshal Service has been working with its state and local partners over the past 20 days to find and recover missing juveniles from the Cuyahoga County area.

So far, 25 missing and endangered children have been recovered, and they have been between the ages of 13 and 18, according to a news release.

Children also have been recovered in Cleveland, East Cleveland, Akron, Euclid, Willoughby and as far away as Miami, according to a news release.

Members of the task force and its local partners will continue to work over the next several weeks to bring more children to safety and return them to safe places.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott, Police Chief Calvin Williams, Sheriff David Schilling, East Cleveland Police Chief Scott Gardner, and Newburgh Heights Police Chief John Majoy announced the recovery of dozens of children during the beginning of Operation Safety Net, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The U.S. Marshals Service will continue to ask for support from the community in finding these missing kids.Tips about where these kids may be can be called into the U.S. Marshals tip line at 1-866-492-6833Photos and information about the missing kids can be found at WTAM.com keyword MISSING and FOX8.com keyword MISSING.

Anthony Ming Schinella, 52, died on June 14 in Arlington, Virginia, but his death had not been widely reported until this week, when revealed a medical examiner’s report listed his cause of death as suicide from a gunshot wound to the head.

Schinella was just weeks away from retirement as National Intelligence Officer for Military Issues following a long CIA career, and had newly married wife Sara Cocoran, a journalist, a few weeks prior to his death.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro accused the Democratic Party and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of being in cahoots in the 2020 presidential election to defeat President Trump.

Navarro leveled the accusation Wednesday in the driveway of the White House. When asked by a reporter for proof of the accusation, he replied: "It's obvious."

"What I think is happening here is the Democrat Party and the Chinese Communist Party have entered into a common cause to defeat Donald J. Lawyer of Accused Kenosha Shooter Breaks Down Kyle Rittenhouse’s Case for Self Defense

The lawyer of Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year old involved in a shooting incident with left-wing rioters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, broke down his client’s argument of self-defense, explaining new details of the incident in which two rioters were shot and killed. Rittenhouse has been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting of three rioters in Kenosha earlier this week, two of whom survived.

The lawyer of Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year old involved in a shooting incident with left-wing rioters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, broke down his client’s argument of self-defense, explaining new details of the incident in which two rioters were shot and killed. Rittenhouse has been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting of three rioters in Kenosha earlier this week, two of whom survived.

“This was not a serious investigation,” Pierce said in a statement released Friday. “Rather, after learning Kyle may have had conservative political viewpoints, they immediately saw him as a convenient target who they could use as a scapegoat to distract from the Jacob Blake shooting and the government’s abject failure to ensure basic law and order to citizens.”

Pierce described Rittenhouse’s account of events. First, the 17-year old Illinois native was present at an auto body in Kenosha with a group of armed citizens, seeking to prevent looting, property, and destruction of the community the rioters had engaged in on previous nights. A mob of rioters arrived and insulted the armed group.

Later, Rittenhouse was administering medical aid to rioters and citizens injured in the night’s events, when he was recognized the group of rioters who had arrived at the auto body shop earlier. Rittenhouse is recounting being aggressively attacked by the group of rioters, including Jacob Rosenbaum, whom he shot in self defense.

The latest court documents also reveal that an unknown gunman began firing shots before Rittenhouse did. Rittenhouse then attempted to flee, only to be pursued by a group of rioters. He tripped and fell on the street, and as a group of leftist rioters- one of whom was armed with a pistol- came upon him- he shot two more men. One died.

“Another attacker struck Kyle from behind as he fled down the street,” Pierce’s statement said. “Kyle turned as the mob pressed in on him and he fell to the ground. One attacker kicked Kyle on the ground while he was on the ground. Yet another bashed him over the head with a skateboard.”

The man who was shot and survived reportedly went on to claim that he wished he had killed Rittenhouse immediately, raising serious questions about his claims to be the victim of aggression on the part of the 17-year old teen.

“Several rioters tried to disarm Kyle. In fear for his life and concerned the crowd would either continue to shoot at him or even use his own weapon against him, Kyle had no choice but to fire multiple rounds towards his immediate attackers, striking two, including one, armed attacker,” the attorney’s statement continued. “The rest of the mob began to disperse upon hearing the additional gunshots.”

Both of the men who were shot and killed in the incident were convicted felons, and Rosenbaum had spent more than a decade in prison in Arizona for a sex crime against a minor.

Rittenhouse’s argument of self defense is indeed pressing, and Kenosha might face the prospect of renewed left-wing violent riots should authorities be forced to drop charges against the young man.

Night Stalker UH-60 Crashes, Kills 2 Soldiers

U.S. Army night stalker MH-60M Black Hawk helicopter Crashed under unknown circumstances. The Blackhawk belonged to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

Two were killed and three more were injured in the tragic incident.

“An element of U.S. Army Special Operations Command was conducting routine training in the vicinity of Coronado, California, on August 27, when an aircraft incident occurred,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “Two Soldiers were killed and three were injured. The area has been secured and an investigation into the incident is underway. More information will be released 24-hours following next of kin notification. Our sincere condolences go out the families and friends of the deceased. We thank you for not contacting them during this difficult time.”

The incident occurred when the troops’ Blackhawk helicopter crashed on San Clemente Island late Thursday, a Defense Department official told the San Diego Union-Tribune.

San Clemente, a U.S. Navy-controlled island 70 miles west of San Diego, has an airfield, a bombing range and a training facility used by special operations units. The island falls under the command of Naval Base Coronado.

This incident comes after nine service members were killed July 30 in an amphibious assault vehicle while returning from a training raid at San Clemente Island.

Eight of 15 Marines on board the AAV and one sailor died in that accident.

Black Hawk helicopters — UH-60s — entered service in the late 1970s but have been updated over the years. Variants of the helicopter are also flown by the Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force.

A Russian astronaut stationed on the ISS claims to have seen 5 'UFOs' in his video footage. The objects lasted in frame for about 52 seconds.

Are we seeing greater news coverage of this type of story in mainstream media due to a greater public acceptance of the topic?

I’m not sure this story would have been so widely covered if it had happened 3 or 4 years ago, but given the rise in public awareness around UFOs, Russian cosmonaut Ivan Vagner’s footage of what appears to be 5 lights ‘flying’ in unison was met with mainstream media curiosity.

Vagner referred to the lights as: “Space guests, or how I filmed the new time-lapse […] you will see something else, not only the aurora”

He made these statements in a Tweet showcasing footage of a breathtaking time-lapse of aurora australis over the earth taken from the International Space Station (ISS) where he is stationed. Vagner does admit that these are only potentially UFOs as he writes in a follow up Tweet:

“At 9-12 seconds, 5 objects appear flying alongside with the same distance,” Vagner wrote in a follow-up tweet. “What do you think those are? Meteors, satellites or … ?”

There have been rumors/stories/paranoid theories about how the NSA had taps placed on the entire internet, and that the NSA has huge data storage facilities to store their own copy of everything that their taps have intercepted.

I'm guessing that you can neither confirm nor deny that.

There was a huge amount of data that somehow made its way from DNC servers to Wikileaks. I think that part is almost universally agreed upon. What is not agreed upon is who, how, and when.

If that huge amount of data was transferred through the internet, and if the NSA actually has taps on the whole system, then the NSA should have acquired a record of what passed through, and from whom and to whom, if not a full copy of the data itself.

If the NSA does not have a record of this specific large amount of data passing through the internet, that would mean that either the NSA does not have the capacity to detect everything, or that the data did not pass through the internet.

My question is: Is there anything you would like to say, and are allowed to say, on that concept?

Former Trump Team Strategist Steve Bannon was indicted by corrupt Southern District of New York attorneys with three others, including Brian Kolfage, a war veteran who lost three limbs in Iraq.

As we reported previously, there are many indications the recent indictment of Steve Bannon, Brian Kolfage and others smells of Weissmann.

1. The timing is suspect. The announcement came during the DNC and five days before the beginning of the RNC.

2. The announcement involves someone connected to President Trump in an attempt to embarrass and besmirch the President.

3. The crimes are suspect at best, and are amplified by wording and reporting. (Powell has said Weissmann could make a birthday gift to your grandma look like a crime.)

4. There is no indication Bannon did anything wrong.

6. The accusation is the accused spent 1% of donations on their expenses related to the fund raiser for building a wall on the Southern border. The SDNY makes it sound like they embezzled like the Clinton Foundation which never will be investigated by the SDNY.

I blame this situation on Gerald Ford, which is why I didn't vote for him. He pardoned Richard Nixon to prevent his prosecution for using the intelligence agencies against the people of the United States. Ford said that in order to reduce the tension in the US surrounding a potential trial of Nixon, he pardoned him.

Ford said that Presidents need to have the opportunity to act freely. If they don't have that latitude to make their own decisions, they can't govern.

Since then, each president has gotten a get-out-of-jail card from the next president, who is hoping in turn to be able to act as they'd like without worrying about prosecution.

Personally, I thought that the COVID19 issue should have been handled by quarantining the infected people and those in their immediate proximity, and you do not quarantine the healthy people of the United States. That's the way we used to handle diseases. I agree with masks and distancing when possible, but they shouldn't have disrupted the whole economy. We should have followed standard protocol rather than creating a new one of shutting down everything.

I'm not a Democrat, so I really didn't favor any of them. It's up to the Democrats to decide who they put forward. I would argue they should put forward people who will push for and insist on conformance to the Constitutional rights of US citizens and everybody else.

On Portland: I'm not sure that's a violation of citizens' rights. Police go around in unmarked cars all the time. I don't know how you can say that's necessarily unconstitutional. I don't know the law here.

The problem with mail-in voting is that it should be applied to absentee voting, not mass-voting. You need a signature to verify that the voter is who they say they are. You have to have some mechanism that you have the correct person voting. I am not aware of mass-voting having that. That's a major weakness.

$5.7 Million In Cocaine Found Smuggled In Boxes Of Yams At Gatwick Airport Near London

Almost $6 million in cocaine was discovered by British authorities at Gatwick Airport, near London, this month. According to the UK’s National Crime Agency, three separate seizures were made, with the first occurring on August 11.

The incoming flights were all from Jamaica. On the first flight, about 22 kilos of the drug were found "in a consignment of vegetables that had come off a flight from Kingston," according to the agency.

A second seizure was made from the same flight one week later on August 18, this time carrying 30 kilos of cocaine.

Finally, a third seizure was made on August 25, again on a flight from Kingston. The cocaine on the third flight amounted to about 3 kilos and was "suspended in a liquid solution".

NCA Branch Commander Mark McCormack commented: "Working with our colleagues at Border Force we are determined to do all we can to stop class A drugs reaching the streets of the UK, where they can cause so much damage. These seizures are an example of that in action, and our investigations are ongoing.

UAE leader signs decree ending boycott of Israel, furthering Trump-mediated deal

The United Arab Emirates has abolished a 1972 law that banned any deals with Israel, paving the way for signing a series of bilateral agreements with the Jewish state.

A decree cancelling the Israel boycott law was signed by UAE President, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Saturday. This makes it legal for Emirati subjects, companies and organizations to have relations with counterparts in Israel.

Residents in the UAE will be able to travel to Israel, conduct business with Israeli companies and participate in other engagements.

The decree furthers the normalization agreement signed by the UAE and Israeli earlier this month and announced by the US, which played the role of a mediator. The two nations agreed to establish formal diplomatic relations and establish a framework for bilateral ties.

The development sparked controversy in the Arab world, with some nations like Turkey accusing Abu Dhabi of betraying the Palestinian cause for egoistic gains. The normalization agreement said Israel would put on hold the proposed annexation of occupied Palestinian territories, but Isreali Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu de facto disavowed the provision, saying his government’s plans did not change.

The UAE has had no formal relations with Israel since its creation as a sovereign federacy of seven Arab monarchies in the early 1970s. Sheikh Khalifa, who is also the emir of Abu Dhabi, has served as the Emirati president since 2004, when he replaced his father, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sexual assault criminal complaint against Jacob Blake emerges in its entirety — and it is horrific

This is utterly horrible

Details of a a highly disturbing criminal complaint against Jacob Blake have emerged.

A Kenosha, Wisconsin, police officer shot Blake in the back at least seven times on Sunday following a call for a domestic dispute. His father told the Chicago Sun-Times that Blake is paralyzed from the waist down.

Blake's shooting only added fuel to the already out-of-control fire lit by the police killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others involved in instances of apparent police brutality.

What are the details?

Blake's ex-girlfriend, identified in the criminal complaint as "LNB," says Blake sexually assaulted her in May.

The criminal complaint states that Blake unlawfully entered her home in the early hours of the morning on May 3. The woman said she awoke from her sleep to find Blake standing in her room, looming over her.

Blake, the 29-year-old father of the woman's three children, reportedly demanded she return his possessions.

"I want my s***," Blake reportedly told the woman, and proceeded to assault her according to the complaint.

"As LNB lay there, on her back, the defendant, suddenly and without warning, reached his hand between her legs, penetrated her vaginally with a finger, pulled it out and sniffed it, and said, 'Smells like you've been with other men,'" the at-times graphic complaint reads.

Following the assault, Blake reportedly stole her vehicle and left the premises.

In the complaint, the woman reports that Blake is unemployed and without a vehicle of his own. Over the eight-year period that the two spent together, Blake reportedly sexually assaulted her at least twice per year during drunken episodes.

Caused 'pain and humiliation'

The officer who took the woman's statement said she had a "very difficult time telling him this and cried as she told how the defendant assaulted her."

The woman said that Blake's assault "caused her pain and humiliation and was done without her consent."

Blake's ex-girlfriend told authorities that she was able to maintain her composure despite the incident, and attempted to follow Blake. When she realized her keys and her vehicle were missing and immediately phoned 911 to report the incident.

Authorities charged Blake in July with felony third-degree sexual assault, misdemeanor trespassing, and disorderly conduct connected to domestic abuse.

Florida Official Arrested for Using Govt Databases to Engage in Child Sex Trafficking

Seminole County, FL — The former Seminole County Tax Collector, Joel Greenberg is facing a slew of charges this month over accusations that he used his position of authority to engage in child sex trafficking. He also faces stalking charges for allegedly using his position to go after political opponents.

Greenberg has been under fire since June when he was arrested on federal stalking charges. He allegedly stalked opponents, and made fake social media accounts in order to start rumors about his political opponent and paint the victim as a white supremacist.

The new allegations, however, are for crimes against children. According to the new federal indictment, Greenberg used fake IDs for individuals he was involved in “sugar daddy relationships” with and to engage in “commercial sex acts.”

This month he was indicted on six new charges for the alleged sex trafficking of an underage girl. According to the indictment Greenberg illegally used a state database to look up information about the girl and other people with whom he was engaged in “sugar daddy” relationships.

At the time of the alleged crimes, ranging from March to November 2017, Greenberg knowingly recruited and solicited a minor to engage in sex acts, according to the indictment. The victim was between 14 and 17 years old, according to the federal indictment.

“We absolutely deny the allegations,” Vincent Citro, Greenberg’s defense attorney said. “The government will not be able to prove its case. We look forward to prevailing at trial.”

However, the evidence against him is pretty damning.

As the Orlando Sentinel reports:

During a search of the home, agents confiscated electronic equipment from the home, including Greenberg’s and his wife’s cell phones and computers, according to court documents.

Inside a backpack that was on a seat in Greenberg’s vehicle belonging to the Tax Collector’s Office, agents found several fake IDs, according to court records. Agents also found materials used to create fake IDs at Greenberg’s office at the Tax Collector’s administrative office in Lake Mary.

Not only is Greenberg accused of using his position of authority to prey on children, he’s also accused of using his position for personal financial gain. An investigation by the Orlando Sentinel discovered that Greenberg doled out $1.9 million in contracts and salaries to close friends, business partners and others to work in the Tax Collector’s Office, including half-a-dozen individuals who were part of his wedding party in mid-2016.

"Return Of The Dust Bowl? The "Megadrought" In The Southwest Is Really Starting To Escalate

Much of the southwestern portion of the United States has been gripped by a drought that never seems to end, and there is a tremendous amount of concern that patterns that we witnessed back during the Dust Bowl days of the 1930s may be starting to repeat.

In a previous article, I discussed the extreme heat that we have been seeing in the region lately. Phoenix has never had more days in a year when the high temperature has hit at least 115 degrees, and other southwestern cities have been smashing records as well. At the same time, precipitation levels have been very low, and the combination of these two factors is starting to cause some major problems.

A couple of weeks ago, NASA posted an article on their official website about the horrible drought conditions that we are now witnessing…

As the United States moves into the last weeks of climatological summer, one-third of the country is experiencing at least a moderate level of drought. Much of the West is approaching severe drought, and New England has been unusually dry and hot. An estimated 53 million people are living in drought-affected areas.

Since NASA posted that article, things have gotten even worse. If you go to the U.S. Drought Monitor website, you will instantly see why so many experts are deeply concerned. The latest map shows that nearly the entire southwestern quadrant of the country is now gripped by either “severe” or “extreme” drought. Armed with knives, some knowledge of their prey and a large dose of cruelty, attackers are going after horses and ponies in pastures across France in what may be ritual mutilations.

Police are stymied by the macabre attacks that include slashings and worse. Most often, an ear – usually the right one – has been cut off, recalling the matador’s trophy in a bullring.

Up to 30 attacks have been reported in France, from the mountainous Jura region in the east to the Atlantic coast, many this summer, the agriculture minister said Friday. One attack was registered in February, according to the newsmagazine Le Point. With each attack, the mystery only seems to grow.

“We are excluding nothing,” Agriculture Minister Julien Denormandie said Friday on France-Info, before heading to a riding club in the Saone-et-Loire region, in east-central France, where a horse was attacked a day earlier.

After the first solid sighting of an attacker, gendarmes in Auxerre, in Burgundy, released a composite sketch this week based on a description by a man who wrangled with two attackers at his animal refuge in a village in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comte region.

“I used to have confidence putting my horses out to pasture. Today, I have fear in my gut,” Nicolas Demajean, who runs the refuge, Ranch of Hope,” said Thursday on regional TV station France 3.

Report: £100 Million of Swedish Taxpayer Cash Went to Radical Islamic Groups

A study has revealed that 49 companies and groups run by Islamic radicals have done businesses with local and national Swedish authorities and have been paid 1.2 billion Swedish kronor (£104,136,000/$137,400,000).

The taxpayer cash has been paid to the groups and companies over the last five years, with some of the people involved in the companies being open radical Salafists while others are said to have been violent Islamic radicals who fought abroad for terrorist groups like the Islamic State.

According to a report from newspaper Aftonbladet, the majority of the cash came from school funding from local municipalities and grants from the Swedish National Agency for Education.

The Sapphire school in Gothenburg, which was shut down due to links to radical Islamic extremists in December of last year, raised the most government cash, along with the parent co-operative Bilaalm based in Norrland.

Terrorism expert Magnus Ranstorp slammed the government for not knowing where taxpayer money was actually going and said that radical Islamic extremists often prioritise schooling.

“Of course there is a purely financial purpose, to make money. Then it’s about the advocacy aspect and about isolating young people from the non-religious community,” he said.

The report is not the first time it has been revealed that Swedish taxpayer money has gone toward radical Islamic extremists.

Last year, the Swedish Security Service (Säpo) reported that radical Islamists were receiving taxpayer cash, but estimated the amounts to be in the millions of kronor and not over a billion.

“To reduce growth in extremist communities, society needs to prevent organisations that contribute to radicalisation from receiving public funds. The state should not fund activities that undermine our democracy by supporting violent extremism,” Johan Olsson, the Operational Manager at Säpo said at the time.

In 2016, it was also reported that Sweden was paying welfare benefits to a Swedish Islamic convert who had travelled to Syria to fight for the Islamic State.

160 Cartel-Connected Human Smuggling Stash Houses Busted in South Texas this Year

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials report the disruption of more than 160 human smuggling stash house operations this fiscal year just in South Texas. The data provides a rare glimpse into the level of Mexican cartel stash house operations occurring in this region alone.

On August 27th, CBP Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan retweeted a video from U.S. Border Patrol Deputy Chief Raul Ortiz showing a recent stash house raid in Laredo, Texas. The tweet also provides detailed stash house data.

In the tweet, CBP reported that in South Texas alone in Fiscal Year 2020, which still has two months left in the year, the agency has already dismantled an astounding 160 stash houses and rescued over 1,600 people.

Stash house data is considered a gold mine by law enforcement officials and is routinely requested and sought after by elected leaders, journalists, and citizens attempting to understand the breadth of scope of smuggling and trafficking by criminal networks along the southwest border. Gaining access to data is often difficult.

The data on stash house operations is important because it indicates the level of cartel logistics occurring inside the U.S. Human smuggling operations are the life blood of the Mexican cartels’ smuggling and trafficking networks at the border. Smugglers along the border use a vast network of halcones, also known as falcons or hawks (lookouts) which extend over twenty miles into the United States in south Texas.

The scouts utilize two-way handheld encrypted radios and encrypted apps on cell phones like Zello. The scouts communicate directly back to Mexican smuggling and trafficking cells that work directly in collaboration with the Mexican cartels.

This network is how hundreds of thousands of pounds of illegal drugs and hundreds of thousands of people are smuggled across the border into the United States every year as they attempt to evade apprehension by law enforcement.

The goal for these criminal networks is to get the product (drugs or humans) across the border and into a stash house as quickly and rapidly as possible in order to evade law enforcement. Stash houses are an important component in smuggling as they provide a blanket that masks criminal activity along the border.

Human smuggling networks routinely treat migrants as a commodity. As seen in this video posted on August 12th, 2020 by Commissioner Morgan where you get to see a video recorded by a smuggler having no concern for human beings in terrible conditions.

1,300 Pounds of Cocaine Seized, 4 Dominican Migrants Busted at Puerto Rico Beach

Border Patrol agents in Puerto Rico and local police intercepts a large load of cocaine and arrested four illegal aliens from the Dominican Republic. The failed smuggling attempt resulted in the seizure of nearly $15 million worth of cocaine.

Border Patrol agents teamed up with the Puerto Rico Police Department Joint Forces for Rapid Action (FURA in Spanish) to interdict a “yola” vessel with four illegal aliens onboard, according to information obtained from Ramey Sector Border Patrol officials. The four Dominican nationals were reportedly attempting to smuggle drugs onto the beach near Rincon, Puerto Rico.

The Ramey Station Border Patrol agents detected the yolo vessel running without lights on Thursday. The boat appeared to be located about six nautical miles west of Rincon, officials reported. Agents requested assistance from a FURA marine unit with intercepted the 20-foot fiberglass homemade boat and found four people on board along with a load of drugs.

The FURA marine unit brought the boat to shore where Border Patrol agents met them at the Añasco pier where they interviewed the four migrants. The agents identified the four adult males as citizens of the Dominican Republic who were attempting to enter the United States illegally.

Officials identified the drugs as testing positive for cocaine. The 1,303 pounds of cocaine is worth an estimated $14.8 million, officials reported.

The agents turned the drugs and the four illegal aliens over to ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation and processing of drug smuggling charges.

The FURA team is funded on these types of operations by the Operation Stonegarden Grant Program (OPSG). The program helps with cooperation and coordination between federal and local, tribal, state law enforcement agencies, Border Patrol officials stated.

“We will continue to disrupt and apprehend smugglers that attempt to smuggle people and narcotics across our borders,” Xavier Morales, Chief Patrol Agent for the Ramey Sector, said in a written statement. “Having a dedicated workforce partner up with other professionals dedicated to the border security mission is the key to success. Great job by all.”

Report: Paedophiles on Twitter and Instagram Using Cheese and Pizza Emojis to Share Images

A London-based group of over 100 parents have begun campaigning to have social media sites like Instagram and Twitter remove the accounts of paedophiles who are reportedly using cheese and pizza emojis as code to share images.

The group — operating under the moniker PDProtect — warned that paedophiles are taking and sharing seemingly innocent pictures of children uploaded by parents in order to pass them around to predators on social media.

A 27-year-old mother from London who founded the project, referred to only as India, told The Telegraph: “I couldn’t just scroll past it as at the end of the day these are people’s children.

“There are pictures of little boys aged five or six on the beach in their swimming trunks and chances are that picture was taken by their parents on their holiday. Somehow that picture has gotten into their hands,” she explained.

India said that she has been in talks with Instagram over the issue, noting that many of the accounts her team flagged were using cheese and pizza emojis together as code for ‘CP’ — child pornography.

An online child protection expert and former member of the British government’s Council for Internet Safety, John Carr OBE, said that the “horrifying” practise needs to be stamped out by tech companies.

“It is understandable that parents want to share pictures of their children with friends and relatives, but if their social media accounts are not private these photos can be seen — and taken — by anyone,” Carr warned.

“This is about parents not thinking because they are not aware that these bad guys are out there doing this,” he added.

In response to the revelations, the Head of Safety at Instagram told The Telegraph: “Any content that endangers children is abhorrent and we’re committed to doing everything we can to keep it off our apps.”

“We remove accounts that share or solicit this type of content and report them to the police. We also use technology that’s constantly improving to find and remove known child exploitation imagery,” she claimed.

“We’ve been working with India to investigate and remove the accounts she’s identified and we’re grateful for her help,” she went on to say.

A spokesman for Twitter added: “Twitter has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual exploitation content. We aggressively fight online child sexual abuse and have heavily invested in technology and tools to enforce our policy.

“Our dedicated teams work to stay ahead of bad-faith actors and to ensure we’re doing everything we can to remove content, facilitate investigations, and protect minors from harm — both on and offline,” Twitter said.

21 Police Injured After 200 Migrants Riot in Spanish City

At least 33 migrants housed in a temporary reception centre in the Spanish city of Melilla were arrested after a riot broke out that led to 21 police officers becoming injured.

The riot came after a second day of protests by migrants over positive cases of the Chinese coronavirus among some of the reception centre’s residents.

At least 200 migrants took part in the rioting, with the angry mob assaulting Spanish police officers by throwing rocks. At least two migrants were also injured during the violence, La Voz de Galicia reports.

Spanish populist party VOX posted footage of the riot on Twitter, and the party’s leader Santiago Abascal commented: “The progressive dictatorship presents them to us as poor victims, but their violence and the consequences of the invasion are suffered by the guards and ordinary Spaniards. The invaders must be deported.”

Local police say the rioters caused significant damage to property in the city, one of two Spanish exclaves on the North African coast and a popular route into the European Union for illegal migrants.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Several thousand women marched in the capital of Belarus on Saturday waving flags, flowers and balloons in the latest in a series of anti-government protests that have gripped the country since a disputed presidential election this month.

President Alexander Lukashenko denies opposition accusations that he rigged the Aug. 9 election to prolong his 26-year rule. He says the protesters are funded by the West, and accuses NATO of massing forces on Belarusian frontiers, which the alliance denies.

The women on Saturday staged what they called a march of solidarity, calling on Lukashenko and his government to step down.

“This is our city” and “you better protect us,” chanted the crowd, many of them sporting national dress.

Streets along the protest route were cordoned off by police and security troops. Rallies on a smaller scale took place in other cities and towns.

Elon Musk took to the stage Friday to show the world his Neuralink brain chip progress - following a more than 30 minute delay that left some 100,000 people waiting on the edge of their seats.

Musk said last month in a tweet that on August 28, Neuralink 'will show neurons firing in real-time' – and the CEO kept his promise.

The three little pig's demo, as he called it, showed an animal named Gertrude with the brain implant. While she snuffed around in a pen, viewers saw her brain activity on a large screen.

The livestream also gave the first look of the redesigned chip, which is the size of a large coin attached to wires that replace a piece of skull when connected to the brain.

'It's like a Fitbit in your skull, Musk said during the event.

'It goes flush on your skull. I could have a Link right now and you wouldn't know. Maybe I do.'

Although the public may have hoped to see a person use the powers of the chip, the event suggests Neuralink is getting closer to Musk's vision of allowing humans to control computers and smartphones with their mind.

During the same week Germany’s Merkel announced that across all but one German states a mandatory mask law will be backed by a 50 euro fine for any violators, New Zealand has announced its own nationwide mask mandate aboard all public transit amid a feared resurgence of COVID-19 cases, with a possible penalty for refusal of up to $1000 (NZD).

The small Pacific nation was previously celebrated as the first in the world to completely eradicate the virus after previously witnessing rapid community transmission.

By the early part of August the Wellington government announced “we had beaten it” as new cases stopped being reported, and following the strict lockdown measures of months prior which had also involved shutting down the border for the island-nation.

Clusters of dozens of new cases began recently popping up again, however, after which the government ordered some 500 troops to border quarantine facilities to prevent the infected from breaching isolation order. Many blamed foreign travel.

Reuters summarizes that the “The Pacific nation of 5 million people had seemed to stop community transmission of COVID-19 due to tough lockdown measures but reintroduced restrictions in its largest city, Auckland, this month following a fresh outbreak.”

“With restrictions to scale back on Sunday, Ardern said in a Facebook post she was taking matters into her own hands before masks become compulsory on public transport across the country the following day,” the report continues.

The new mask mandate in effect this week applies to all buses, taxis, trains, fairies and planes. New Zealand media confirms that “From Monday, not wearing a mask on public transport will be punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 imposed by the courts, or a $300 infringement notice.” In New Zealand Dollars (NZD) this works out to a little under $700.

And NZ Herald also writes:

But anyone caught by police not wearing one without a reasonable excuse could be instantly fined $300 or fined up to $1000 imposed through the courts.

However, authorities say they’ll opt for “light enforcement” initially, likely to include warnings before tickets are issued.

Thus far this is the steepest fine we’ve heard of as the controversial trend of monetary penalties for not wearing a mask in certain public venues increasingly becomes a trend across parts of the globe.

Japan and US defense chiefs agree to keep China in check

Japan's Defense Minister Taro Kono and his U.S. counterpart agreed in Guam on Saturday that they will keep China's maritime assertiveness in the South and East China seas in check. "As for the South and East China seas, we confirmed that Japan and the United States will strongly oppose countries unilaterally changing the status quo by force," Kono said after meeting with Mark Esper at Andersen Air Force Base. Beijing is involved in territorial disputes with Tokyo and a number of other Asian neighbors in the waters. Pentagon officials said China fired four ballistic missiles into the South China Sea on Wednesday in an apparent warning to U.S. reconnaissance planes flying near areas where Beijing has been conducting naval drills.

Kono told Esper the launch could help destabilize the region and that he will monitor the situation with concern, according to a Japanese Defense Ministry official. At the outset of the talks, Esper condemned China's behavior in the waters, saying, "We are steadfast in our opposition to Beijing's destabilizing activities in the region." Kono said in response, "I think the world has been changing drastically. Not just because of COVID-19, but because there are some attempts to change the status quo by force and coercion." The Japanese defense chief said he and Esper reaffirmed that Article 5 of the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty applies to the Senkaku Islands, a group of East China Sea islets controlled by Japan but claimed by China, which calls them Diaoyu. Article 5 stipulates Washington's commitment to defend Tokyo. Kono said he explained to Esper about the ongoing talks at Japan's National Security Council on alternative options. Tokyo is set to indicate a policy on the new missile defense system in September. In a related move, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party submitted a proposal this month for Japan to consider "possession of the ability to intercept ballistic missiles and others even in the territory of an opponent," a controversial suggestion in light of Japan's war-renouncing Constitution.

The two defense chiefs also affirmed that North Korea's repeated launch of ballistic missiles is a violation of the U.N. Security Council resolutions and a challenge to the international society. Moreover, they agreed to keep working to ensure complete implementation of the U.N. resolutions by the North so its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles programs will be abolished in a "complete, verifiable and irreversible manner." Kono and Esper also discussed enhanced cooperation between the two allies in fields such as outer space, cyberspace and electronic warfare, the Defense Ministry official said. In Tokyo, Kono met U.S. Chief of Space Operations Gen. John Raymond on Wednesday when the latter was making his first visit to Japan since the creation of the Space Force and his appointment in December last year.

Kono is on his first overseas trip since February, when he attended an international conference in Germany.

President Donald Trump and Democrats in Washington D.C. are at an impasse over a second coronavirus relief bill, which might not be coming any time soon.

Trump is willing to sign a relief bill worth $1.3 trillion, a figure that Democratic House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi says isn’t nearly big enough. Pelosi is calling for a $2.2 trillion bill to assist Americans during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The Democrats are unified, but the Republicans are in disarray,” Pelosi said in a statement Friday. “Press reports are stating that Mitch McConnell has come down to $500 billion in his proposal and that Mark Meadows is saying that the White House might go to $1.3 trillion. Neither of these proposals would meet the needs of American workers and families.

“Republicans are rejecting the funding needed for testing and tracing to crush the virus and safely reopen schools and the economy.”

The new offer is a $300 billion increase from White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who said the president is ready to sign the bill “right now.”

“My impression is she wants to give no stimulus, all she wants is bailout for badly run Democrat states,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, via Reuters.

In May, the House passed a $3.4 trillion coronavirus relief bill, though it was not taken up by the Senate. The Democrats had been asking for $2.4 trillion earlier in August.

Corporate partner

The "key corporate partner" for cooperation under the FAIRVIEW program was first identified on October 23, 2013 by The Washington Post—quoting NSA historian Matthew Aid—as AT&T.[2]

This was confirmed by a joint report by Pro Publica and The New York Times from August 15, 2015, based upon NSA documents that describe the company as "highly collaborative" and praise the company's "extreme willingness to help".[1]

In 2011, the FAIRVIEW program cost the NSA $188.9 million, which was twice as much as the costs for STORMBREW, which is the second-largest program.[1]

Scope of the program

According to 2013 revelations by whistleblower Edward Snowden:

The NSA partners with a large US telecommunications company ... [which] partners with telecoms in the foreign countries, [which] then allow the US company access to those countries' telecommunications systems, and that access is then exploited to direct traffic to the NSA's repositories.[3]

According to the revelations, the NSA had collected 2.3 billion separate pieces of data from Brazilian users in January 2013 alone.[4]

Several weeks earlier, Snowden had revealed that the NSA was also harvesting the telephone metadata and text messages from over a billion subscribers in China; however, no precise program name was reported at the time.[5]

A slide about the FAIRVIEW program that was seen on Brazilian television in 2013 showed a map with markers all over the United States, but without a legend that explained what they stood for. From a similar map with the proper legend, that was published in August 2015, it became clear that in 2010 the NSA had access to the following AT&T facilities:[6]

8 internet peering points

26 VoIP router facilities

1 VoIP hub router facility (with 30 planned)

9 submarine cable landing points (with 7 planned)

16 4ESS circuit switching stations

Except for the VoIP facilities, most of these access points are situated along the US borders.

Legal authorities

The collection of data under the FAIRVIEW program takes place under different legal authorities: FISA, which requires individualized warrants from the FISA Court, section 702 FAA for when one end of the communications is foreign, and the Transit Authority for when both ends of a communications are foreign.

Under the FAIRVIEW program, AT&T also provided the NSA with domestic telephone metadata in bulk, which was authorized under section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act. First this was from landline connections, but in 2011, AT&T also started handing over cell phone metadata: 1.1 billion a day.[1]

Berlin Police Arrest Over 100 People During Protest Against COVID-19 Restrictions

At least 100 people were arrested on Saturday during a rally against the coronavirus-related restrictions in Berlin, and most of them were detained during a clash between protesters and law enforcement officers near the Russian embassy, a spokeswoman for the police said.

"We do yet have an exact number of arrests made today, but I can say that a large number of people were detained in the area of the Russian embassy because of attacks on the police. This is a three-digit number," the spokeswoman said, adding that there have been no serious incidents during the protest since then.

Photos and videos from the protests have emerged online.

A spokeswoman for the police confirmed that approximately 18,000 people gathered in the Under den Linden avenue in the German capital’s central Mitte district earlier in the day, but added that the law enforcement agency could not make estimates on how many people subsequently joined the rally. The spokeswoman said that the police are not allowing the protest to start because many demonstrators are not wearing face masks.

However, some demonstrators still marched in downtown Berlin.

When the rally was passing near the Russian diplomatic mission, some protesters started throwing bottles at the police officers.

Anti-coronavirus protests on Saturdays are organised by Stuttgart's Querdenken 711 initiative group that criticizes the government’s response to the pandemic.

Despite mask mandates imposed to stop the spread of Covid-19, the UK Deputy Chief Medical Officer Jenny Harries cast doubt on their effectiveness, adding yet another wrinkle to the raging debate about face coverings.

As schools prepare to reopen, the government has released guidance that will require students and teachers to wear masks in communal areas. Masks are currently required in hospitals, on public transport, and in many businesses.

In a Q and A session with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, however, Harries pushed back against the theory that masks help stop the spread of Covid-19, adding further confusion to experts’ changing attitudes in the area.

Asked by a parent about deaf children being able to properly learn, Johnson clarified that he does not want to see face coverings in classrooms.

“The evidence on face coverings is not very strong in either direction. We are continuing to learn as the Prime Minister has said about how the virus transmits and it may be we do change advice in the future, that’s because we’re watching the science,” Harries added, saying masks will only be required in situations where social distancing is not possible.

“At the moment the evidence is pretty stable, but it can be very reassuring in those enclosed environments for children and for teachers as well, to know that people are taking precautions,” she continued.

Harries has cast doubt on the effectiveness of mask-wearing in the past, saying in March it can have an opposite effect and actually “trap the virus in the mask” and force people to breathe it in. At the time, she said wearing a mask was “not a good idea.”

Other experts were similarly skeptical and recommended only people feeling symptoms wear face coverings, with some even warning against mask buying so as not to flood the market and make it harder for medical staff to get proper supplies.

In April, opinions began to change as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and others recommended mask wearing, and mandates began being put in place.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said face-coverings provide “limited” protection for the virus when announcing coverings would be mandated on public transports.

Some studies have found face coverings can help limit the spread of the virus, but mandates have led to a heated debate around the world.

In the US, Democratic Party presidential nominee Joe Biden has promised a federal mask mandate if he is elected, something President Donald Trump has been resistant to, instead leaving mandates up to individual states.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) has had enough and will introduce legislation this week to strip convicted rioters of federal unemployment benefits.

“Antifa thugs are descending on suffering communities, disrupting peaceful protests and leaving violence, looting, and vandalism in their wake,” Banks said in a statement.

“They turned Milwaukee, Seattle, and Portland into warzones, and now they’re moving the chaos to Kenosha, Wisconsin. Who knows which community is next?”

U.S. Dishes Out First Sanctions in South China Sea Dispute

By Susan Heavey, Daphne Psaledakis and David Brunnstrom WASHINGTON, Aug 26 (Reuters) – The United States on Wednesday blacklisted 24 Chinese companies and targeted individuals it said were part of construction and military actions in the South China Sea, its first such sanctions move against Beijing over the disputed strategic waterway.

The U.S. Commerce Department said the two dozen companies played a “role in helping the Chinese military construct and militarize the internationally condemned artificial islands in the South China Sea.”

Separately, the State Department said it would impose visa restrictions on Chinese individuals “responsible for, or complicit in,” such action and those linked to China’s “use of coercion against Southeast Asian claimants to inhibit their access to offshore resources.”

The companies blacklisted included Guangzhou Haige Communications Group, several firms that appear to be related to the China Communications Construction Co , as well as Beijing Huanjia Telecommunication, Changzhou Guoguang Data Communications, China Electronics Technology Group Corp and China Shipbuilding Group.

It was the latest U.S. move to punish firms whose goods may support Chinese military activities and comes in the run up to the Nov. 3 U.S. election, in which both President Donald Trump and rival Joe Biden have been sharply critical of China.

The United States accuses China of militarizing the South China Sea and trying to intimidate Asian neighbors who might want to exploit its extensive oil and gas reserves.

U.S. warships have gone through the area to assert the freedom of access to international waterways, raising fears of clashes.

A spokesperson for China’s embassy in Washington condemned the U.S. sactions as “completely unreasonable,” and urged the United States to reverse them.

UCLA Researcher Arrested, Charged With Destroying Evidence In China Espionage Probe

Chinese national and University of California-Los Angeles researcher has been arrested for allegedly throwing away a damaged hard drive while the FBI was investigating him for transferring sensitive U.S. data to China’s National University of Defense Technology.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday that 29-year-old Guan Lei "falsely den[ied] his association with the Chinese military" during interviews with federal law enforcement officials. Lei has since admitted that he participated in Chinese military training.

According to authorities, one of Lei's faculty advisors in China also served in the Chinese military.

"Guan later admitted that he had participated in military training and wore military uniforms while at NUDT...

...NUDT is suspected of procuring U.S.-origin items to develop supercomputers with nuclear explosive applications," the Justice Department said.

The Justice Department further alleged that Lei hid digital files from federal law enforcement and lied about having contact with the Chinese consulate during his time in the U.S.

An FBI affidavit said the hard drive "was irreparably damaged and that all previous data associated with the hard drive appears to have been removed deliberately and by force."

Lei faces one felony count of destruction of evidence, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.

UCLA did not return a request for comment from Campus Reform in time for publication.

The Justice Department's announcement comes just days after it announced the arrest of a Texas A&M professor for his alleged ties to China.

In recent months, Campus Reform has covered multiple arrests of college professors and researchers who have been arrested over their alleged connections to the Chinese Communist Party.

U.S. Sanctions Russian Research Institute That Developed Covid-19 Vaccine

The US Commerce Department blacklisted a Russian research institute that helped create the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine.

Russia won the race to develop the first vaccine against the novel coronavirus. The United States has responded by slapping sanctions on a Russian research facility involved in creating it.

The US government has blacklisted several Russian scientific institutes, including the Russian Defense Ministry’s 48th Central Research Institute, which has worked with other non-military medical centers to develop and test the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine.

In the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic and a historic economic crisis, Washington has escalated its global campaign of economic warfare, imposing sanctions on foreign adversaries and announcing new punitive measures on a nearly daily basis.

More than one-fourth of people on Earth live in countries that are suffering from US sanctions.

In April, a Russian company sent ventilators to the United States as a form of humanitarian aid, to help overwhelmed hospitals treat coronavirus patients. It was later revealed that this Russian firm had been under US sanctions since 2014.

State-led Covid-19 vaccine research in Russia, China, Cuba beat US ‘public-private partnership’

The Russian government announced this August that it had registered the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine, called Sputnik V.

Sputnik V was developed by the Russian Health Ministry’s Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. This scientific facility created the vaccine in a joint research project with the Russian Defense Ministry’s 48th Central Research Institute.

On August 27, the US Commerce Department imposed sanctions on Russia’s 48th Central Research Institute, blacklisting the scientific body.

While Russia took a state-led approach to create a coronavirus vaccine, the Trump administration announced a “public-private partnership” in May. The program, called “Operation Warp Speed,” saw the US government dole out billions of tax dollars to Big Pharma companies.

The Trump administration awarded massive contracts to private corporations like Novavax, Pfizer, and Moderna, while Trump reportedly offered “large sums of money” for exclusive rights to a vaccine being developed by a German firm so it could be sold for profit.

But the US public-private partnership was unable to develop a vaccine before foreign countries with government-led research efforts did. Besides Russia, a state-owned Chinese company says its vaccine will be ready by the end of 2020, while Cuba is doing clinical trials for a vaccine of its own.

US blacklists Russian research institutes

The US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security announced a series of new sanctions measures on Russian research centers in the US government’s federal register on August 27.

Washington accused the blacklisted institutes of being associated with Russian chemical and biological weapons programs. The Kremlin denied this, calling the accusation “absolute nonsense.”

NYT Going To Court. Like Sandmann, Sarah Palin’s Defamation Lawsuit Is The Only Remedy Against Mainstream Media Lies

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s defamation lawsuit against the New York Times is heading to court. Judge Jed S. Rakoff of Manhattan’s Federal District Court said in his decision that there was “sufficient evidence to allow a rational finder of fact to find actual malice by clear and convincing evidence.”

Palin, like former Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandman, who won his defamation lawsuit against The Washington Post on his 18th birthday in 2019, is suing on the grounds that the paper defamed her person and is libel for a completely false story about her. In 2008, then Palin, a Republican vice presidential candidate sued over a June 14, 2017 editorial that was published after the horrific shooting in Alexandria, Virginia that almost killed then House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

In the editorial, the NYT referred to a January 2011 shooting where six people died and Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was seriously wounded. The writer lied saying that Palin’s political action committee had circulated a map before the shooting that showed 20 Democrats including Giffords under “stylized cross hairs,” like the ones at shooting ranges. It wasn’t true.

What we have witnessed happening to the U.S. media since has been astonishing. The media has been weaponized against political opponents in such a way that it clearly has done extreme harm to the nation. It isn’t the watchdog it should be keeping check on the government, exposing corruption and weeding out the bad players. These once trusted news organizations are now dividing our country, sowing seeds of chaos and operating – for the most part – as an arm of the Democratic party.

The way to prevent these irregular interpositions of the people is to give them full information of their affairs thro’ the channel of the public papers, & to contrive that those papers should penetrate the whole mass of the people. The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers & be capable of reading them.

Instead, the main stream media outlets have taken sides. It is its own elitist political character that detests middle America, hates President Donald Trump and is willingly assisting the Democratic Party without having to be coerced what-so-ever.

Palin, Sandman and Lokhova’s lawsuits are about the only thing that can keep these media giants in check. These lawsuits are not easy to win and the cost to hire attorneys who can fight them can be the greatest deterrent. I believe for the most part that’s the reason why these media giants over the years have been so lackadaisical and set aside their own rules to become a part of the system.

Many of the reporters and their editors are no longer protecting the voiceless but their pocketbooks, connections in Washington D.C. and have themselves become addicted to their own celebrity. They see themselves as powerful and they don’t want to lose their invitations to the White House dinners, parties and Washington D.C. elites.

FDA Fires 2 After Blood Plasma PR Disaster Mars Agency

Just days after the Food and Drug Administration was criticized for giving emergency use authorization for blood plasma to treat COVID-19, two senior public relations experts that advise the agency have been fired, the New York Times reported.

Chief spokeswoman for the FDA, Emily Miller, was removed by the agency’s commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn on Friday, just 11 days after she started the position, the Times noted. The FDA website says Miller worked as Communications Director for the re-election campaign of Sen. Ted Cruz and as a journalist for the right-leaning cable network One America News.

Also terminated was Wayne L. Pines, a public relations consultant for the Department of Health and Human Services, the parent agency of the FDA. According to reports, Pines advised Dr. Hahn to apologize for comments that were misleading about the benefits of using blood plasma to treat COVID-19.

Pines told the Times that he did recommend that Hahn “correct the record,” adding that “if a federal official doesn’t say something right, and chooses to clarify and say that the criticism is justified, that’s refreshing.”

Brian Harrison, HHS’ chief of staff told the Times that the termination of Pines’ contract was "100 percent coincidence. HHS has been reviewing and canceling similar contracts, so I had it sent to our lawyers, who recommended termination. This was routine.”

The FDA came under fire for approving blood plasma after concern was expressed by several medical experts on its effectiveness to treat COVID-19. Medical experts have said that more data is needed to understand blood plasma, and the study that the treatment was authorized under included only a small group of 100 participants.

UAE Condemned Turkish Intervention In Syria In Letter To UN

The United Arab Emirates has accused Turkey of seeding chaos in the Arab World and occupying Syria in a new letter to the United Nations Security Council.

The UAE’s message, which was delivered on August 28, was an apparent response to a recent message from Turkey to the Security Council. Ankara accused Abu Dhabi of suppressing democratic movements in the Middle East, as well as of killing people in Yemen.

In its message, the UAE said Turkey is attempting to shift international attention from its dangerous acts, including its illegitimate operations in Syria. The UAE also referred to Turkey as a hub for ISIS terrorists moving to central Asia and Afghanistan.

“Turkey is threatening to use migrants to advance its megalomaniac goals,” the message reads.

Tension between the UAE and Turkey escalated earlier this month after the announcement of the peace deal between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv. Ankara, which maintains official relations with Tel Aviv since 1949, slammed Abu Dhabi over the deal.

The UAE, which has been openly working to counter Turkey’s influence in the Middle East, restored relations with Syria more than a year ago. Abu Dhabi reopened its embassy in Damascus in December 2018.

According to several reports, the UAE is supporting Syria’s war on Turkish-backed militants and terrorist groups, which are occupying vast parts of the country.

The UAE’s message indicates that the country is not backing down from its stand against Turkey’s moves in the region. Abu Dhabi is clearly determined to foil Ankara’s plans.

Huge crowd gathered in London 's Trafalgar Square to protest against government's Covid restrictions

Mass demonstration is one of several taking place around the world today as Europe cases continue to surge

Demonstrators hold signs claiming masks reduce immunity and some likened restrictions to 'child torture'

More than 10,000 Covid-19 conspiracy theorists who believe the virus is a hoax have gathered in London's Trafalgar Square to protest against lockdown restrictions and vaccination programmes.

Demonstrators in the 'Unite for Freedom' rally - which started at noon in the capital - called for an 'end to Government lies' and the restoration of all freedoms as they marched past Downing Street towards the Houses of Parliament.

Pictures from the demonstration show Trafalgar Square almost full of protesters - none of whom are wearing masks - holding signs that brand the pandemic as a 'hoax'. When full, the square holds up to 35,000 people.

Other signs claimed masks reduce immunity and likened the restrictions to 'child torture'. One person held a homemade placard on which he had scrawled 'no to mandatory vaccines.'

Jeremy Corbyn's brother Piers and conspiracy theorist David Icke were in attendance, the latter of whom urged police to 'stop serving the psychopaths' and join those protesting in a speech addressing the cheering crowd.

Video from the scene showed organisers label the government as 'terrorists who are waging a war on the people of this country'.

One man says: 'This is a political agenda to commit mass genocide on the population. That is their agenda.'

After seventeen blazing days above 90 degrees, we finally got a break from the heat on Friday. Our temperature dropped sixteen degrees from 96 on Thursday to 80 on Friday! Not only did we get the cool down, we saw some much needed rain across Colorado.

We know August has been hot. We have had 25 days with temperatures above 90 degrees, and 17 days above 95 degrees. Both of those are new records for the month.

We will stay in the low to mid 80s on Saturday, with the high country also getting a break from the heat with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. Statewide, there will be a chance for rain again on Saturday with a few severe storms possible on the far eastern plains. Otherwise, just some great soaking rain that we need so badly.

Another cold front comes in Sunday and into Monday. This will drop us to the 70s! Our coolest temperatures since June. We stay there until Wednesday when we pop back to the upper 80s and low 90s. So enjoy the cooler air while it lasts.

Berlin police halt 'anti-COVID' rally as European cities protest virus curbs

Police in Berlin broke up a protest against coronavirus curbs on Saturday and arrested 300 people after demonstrators failed to social distance and wear masks, as other European cities held similar "anti-COVID" marches.

Police in the German capital disbanded the mass protest against COVID-19 curbs just several hours after it started.

"Unfortunately, we have no other option," Berlin police said on Twitter. "All the measures taken so far have not led to compliance with the conditions."

Around 38,000 coronavirus sceptics marched in Berlin after a court initially gave the go-ahead for the demonstration.

"We're here to say: we have to be careful! Coronavirus crisis or not, we must defend our freedoms," Christina Holz, a 22-year-old student, told AFP.

With new coronavirus cases rising since lockdown measures were lifted several months ago, European countries have implemented tighter regulations to contain the outbreak that has killed more than 800,000 globally.

In London, around 1,000 demonstrators calling for an "end to medical tyranny" gathered in Trafalgar Square.

In Paris, up to 300 protesters marched against the government decision to make mask wearing compulsory in all public areas.

"I am simply a citizen angry against the freedom restricting measures which have no medical justification," said Sophie, a Parisian who took part in the protest.

Protesters in the French capital, some waving placards stating "Stop the lies", were quickly surrounded by police who handed out 135 euro fines to those not wearing masks.

Some 1,000 people in the Swiss city of Zurich also called for a "return to freedom".

Berlin authorities previously banned the demonstration, fearing protesters would not carry out social distancing requirements or wear face masks.

Protest organisers and supporters were outraged by the move and flooded social media with messages they would protest anyway, with some calling for violence.

But on Friday evening, Berlin's administrative court sided with the demonstrators, saying there was no indication that organisers would "deliberately ignore" social distancing rules and endanger public health.

Meanwhile, Berlin police have disbanded a mass protest against coronavirus curbs after marchers in the German capital failed to keep their distance and wear masks.

Coronavirus vaccine candidate approved for emergency use in China

Sinovac Biotech's coronavirus vaccine candidate CoronaVac has been approved for emergency use as part of a programme initiated in July in China to vaccinate high-risk groups such as medical staff.

China National Biotec Group (CNBG), a unit of state-owned pharmaceutical giant China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm), said on social media platform WeChat that it had obtained emergency use approval for a coronavirus vaccine candidate.

CNBG, which has two vaccine candidates in phase 3 clinical trials, did not reveal which of its vaccines had been cleared for emergency use.

China has been giving experimental coronavirus vaccines to high-risk groups since July, and a health official told state media that authorities could consider modestly expanding the emergency use programme to try to prevent possible outbreaks during the autumn and winter.
