People held "No Mandatory Flu Shot Massachusetts" to show that parents were against Governor Charlie Baker's recently issued order for mandatory influenza vaccinations. The order is for all students under the age of 30, aiming to lift the burden on the central healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Parents could be seen holding banners reading My Child My Choice, Repeal Flu Mandate and ''This is Massachusetts, not communist China" with their children at the rally.

Ex-WH Counsel Don McGahn Raised Concerns About Kushner’s Top-Level Security Clearance, Memo Reveals

The confidential memo was cited in an upcoming book titled ‘Donald Trump v. The United States: Inside the Struggle to Stop a President’ about the clashes between Trump and officials of his own administration who have attempted to rein him in. Written by New York Times correspondent Michael Schmidt, the book is set to be published on 1 September.

Former White House counsel Don McGahn in a 2018 memo to then-White House chief of staff John Kelly expressed concern about the top-level security clearance given to US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, Axios reported on Sunday, citing an upcoming book.

In a two-page memo cited by the New York Times, correspondent Michael Schmidt’s new book ‘Donald Trump v. The United States’, McGahn reportedly suggests that Kushner not be granted top-level security clearance unless “serious additional concerns” triggered by the president's son-in-law’s FBI background check were “investigated and resolved”.

“The information you were briefed on one week ago and subsequently relayed to me, raises serious additional concerns about whether this individual ought to retain a top security clearance until such issues can be investigated and resolved,” McGahn wrote in his memo to Kelly, according to Axios.

The former White House Counsel, who served in the Trump administration from the day of the president’s inauguration until resigning in October 2018, called for the reduction of the Trump son-in-law's security clearance, reportedly arguing against granting Kushner access to highly classified information.

“Interim secret is the highest clearance that I can concur until further information is received,” McGahn said, referring to the level of the classified data.

Author Schmidt said in his publication that “by reducing Kushner's clearance from top secret to secret, McGahn and Kelly had restricted” his access to the President's Daily Brief (PDB), a daily summary of high-level, all-source information and analysis on national security issues provided by the US intelligence community.

Schmidt pointed out that McGahn acknowledged in the memo that Trump could disregard the security concerns and grant his son in-law the clearance himself, which is what happened, as the president later intervened to ensure Kushner received top-secret security clearance.

At the time, a spokesperson for Kushner claimed that the president’s son-in-law received his security clearance under ordinary protocols.

“In 2018, White House and security clearance officials affirmed that Mr. Kushner’s security clearance was handled in the regular process with no pressure from anyone," the representative for Kushner said in 2018, according to The Hill.

Jared Kushner, husband to Trump's oldest daughter, Ivanka, is currently the president's senior adviser on Middle East peace. He is said to have played a role in the formation of an Israeli-Palestinian peace plan dubbed "the deal of the century", announced on 28 January 2020, which has been condemned and rejected by the Palestinian side.

Chinese data shows Beijing continues Iranian oil imports

Official Chinese data showed this week that China imported 120,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil from Iran in July as Beijing returns to reporting crude imports from the Islamic Republic after reporting no such imports for June.

According to Chinese customs data reported by Radio Farda, China’s oil imports from Iran averaged 77,000 bpd between January and July this year, nine times lower than the figures China had reported before the US re-imposed sanctions on Iran’s oil industry and exports.

In reality, various reports, media investigations, and tanker-tracking firms suggest that China is receiving much more oil from Iran than the official figures report.

China’s imports from Iran, as reported by the customs data, corresponds with data provided by data intelligence company Kpler to Radio Farda.

But one tanker, as per Kpler data, tried to cover up the origin of Iranian oil going to China labeling the cargo as “Indonesian oil.”

That tanker, the Giessel, was one of four oil tankers that the Caribbean island state of St. Kitts & Nevis stripped of its flag after an NBC News investigation found that as many as 15 tankers under various flags had manipulated their trackers to skirt the US sanctions on Iran’s oil exports.

An earlier investigation by NBC News found that those tankers were switching off trackers to hide the fact that they had traveled to Iranian waters to load oil for exports in violation of the US sanctions on Iran’s oil industry.

Iran is exporting a lot more crude oil than US figures suggest, data from TankerTrackers.com has revealed, as reported by NBC News.

According to the data, Iran is exporting as much as 600,000 bpd, using ship-to-ship transfers with transponders turned off to avoid detection, skirting US sanctions. The daily average number compares with an estimate of 227,000 bpd made in a US Congressional report, NBC’s Raf Sanchez wrote on Twitter.

Catholic High School Teacher Once Voted ‘Coolest’ Is Arrested After ‘Having Sex With Student 60 Times In 18 Months’

Camden, N.J. – A high school teacher has been charged for repeatedly sexually assaulting an underage victim that began when the victim was her 17-year-old student.

Bridget Sipera, 36, of Cherry Hill, was charged on Aug. 26 in Cherry Hill with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault and one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was also charged with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault and one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for crimes that occurred in Gloucester Township.

Detectives began investigating the reported sexual assault that began in January of 2019 when the victim was a student in Sipera’s class at Camden Catholic High School and continued through March of 2020.

The victim told investigators he had sex with the teacher “about 60 times over an 18-month period,” the Courier-Post reported.

Sipera and the student “had sexual intercourse inside of his vehicle at several locations throughout Cherry Hill, including a hotel parking lot, Cooper River Park, (Sipera’s) residence and (Sipera’s) mother’s residence,” the probable cause statement says.

Sipera was voted “Camden Catholic High School’s coolest teacher” in 2013. Detectives said Sipera could face more charges.

John Ratcliffe says he is coordinating with John Durham and plans to declassify more documents soon

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe revealed he is coordinating with U.S. Attorney John Durham in the federal prosecutor’s inquiry into the Russia investigation and expects to make further declassifications public soon. Ratcliffe, who has overseen the nation’s 17 intelligence agencies since taking over the role in May, shed a bit of light on how the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is assisting in the "investigation of the investigators" investigation during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News and insisted he is working to ensure that any intelligence documents he releases don’t "prejudice" Durham’s inquiry. “We’ve actually, for several months, been coordinating with his team of folks to make sure that he has access to all of the intelligence community documents that he needs,” Ratcliffe said of Durham. “He’s looking at the same, some of the same documents that I am, and so our work is running on parallel paths. Now, his is a criminal investigation, and he’s not sharing his findings or the work that he’s doing, but I’m coordinating with him to make sure that he has the intelligence documents that he needs to do his work, and what I don’t want to do is declassify something that might prejudice his work, so we’re going to have to coordinate as we go forward the completion of his work with my ability to declassify documents, and so we’ve communicated along those lines.”

Durham collected his first guilty plea this month from former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who admitted to a false statements charge for altering a CIA email in 2017 that helped justify the continued Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act wiretapping of onetime Trump campaign aide Carter Page by fraudulently adding that Page was "not a source" for the agency when the CIA had told Clinesmith and the bureau on multiple occasions that Page was an “operational contact” for them. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham contends the FBI misled the Senate Intelligence Committee in early 2018 about British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s primary subsource — recently revealed to be Russian-trained, Washington, D.C.-based lawyer Igor Danchenko — who the FBI knew by then had undermined the credibility of many of Steele’s Trump-Russia allegations across multiple interviews with him in early 2017. Ratcliffe recently declassified the FBI memo showing Danchenko undercutting the reliability of the now-discredited Steele dossier. “I was a congressman, and in that role, I felt strongly that the FBI had continued a counterintelligence investigation against the Trump campaign without a proper predicate, in other words, illegally continued it, and obviously the Clinesmith plea and documents that I declassified in connection with that are related to that,” Ratcliffe said. “The question now is: Did the FBI have a proper predicate to begin a counterintelligence investigation at all? And that’s the issue that John Durham is looking at, and it’s also the issue that I’m continuing to look at.”

DOJ Inspector General Horowitz wrote in his lengthy December report that the FBI's Russia investigation, code-named Crossfire Hurricane, was "opened for an authorized investigative purpose and with sufficient factual predication." But Durham, along with Attorney General William Barr, disagreed with the assertion that the opening of the investigation was justified. “When I went through confirmation, I pledged to a bipartisan group of senators that I’d look at all of the underlying intelligence surrounding the intelligence community’s assessment of Russia and Russia’s interference and this idea of Trump-Russia collusion, so I’ve spent the last three months doing that,” Ratcliffe said Sunday. “And I’ve declassified certain documents — and I plan to declassified additional documents, but I’m not going to prejudice John Durham’s work in connection with that, so we’ve had to coordinate with this office about the timing of that, but I’m optimistic that I’ll be declassifying additional documents soon.” Durham is looking into whether former CIA Director John Brennan took politicized actions to pressure the rest of the intelligence community to match his conclusions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations. “There was definitely Russian interference,” Barr said in June. “I think Durham is looking at the intelligence community’s ICA — the report that they did in December [2016]. And he’s sort of examining all the information that was ... the basis for their conclusions."

What we know about CNN host Chris Cuomo's 'shocking' conversation with Michael Cohen that Tucker Carlson plans to reveal

Fox News host Tucker Carlson told his audience on Friday that next week he intends to share details of a conversation that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen secretly tape-recorded with CNN's Chris Cuomo. This tape is one of many that have been "floating around" for some time but have never aired publicly, Carlson said before noting with a chortle that Cuomo, who is the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was captured on at least one of them. "Cohen and the governor’s brother had a pretty shocking conversation. Bottom line, Chris Cuomo is not the person he pretends to be on CNN. And there is more. This is a developing story. We'll have all of it for you next week. Tune in," Carlson said as video played of Cuomo lifting weights at a gym. Although the tape has yet to leak publicly, Cuomo was pressed to talk about it in the summer of 2018 after the FBI seized materials from Cohen, who later that year pleaded guilty to charges of tax fraud, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations for hush-money payments to two women during the 2016 campaign who claimed to have had affairs with President Trump. Trump has denied those relationships. On July 24, Cuomo played on his show, Cuomo Prime Time, a recorded conversation between Trump and Cohen about buying the rights to former Playboy model Karen McDougal's story about her alleged affair with Trump. The Wall Street Journal reported a day later that federal investigators obtained 12 tapes belonging to Cohen, including a conversation with Cuomo that was nearly two-hours long. The report narrowly focused on how Cohen talked about arranging a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence about the affair she claims to have had with Trump in 2006. “I did it on my own,” Cohen said in regard to the payment.

Rudy Giuliani, who became Trump's personal attorney during the Russia investigation, appeared on Cuomo's show a couple of days later, praising the host for how he conducted himself during his chat with Cohen. The former New York City mayor said he could make the judgment because he read the transcript. "You did exactly the right thing. In fact, Chris, thank you for doing it because you questioned him the way a lawyer would question him, and you got everything out of him," Giuliani said. "I couldn't have done a better job of getting him to corroborate my client's statement than you did. And he did it three or four times." Cuomo said he wouldn't talk about it, insisting he remained bound by an off-the-record agreement. "I can't talk about it," he said. Giuliani argued that Cuomo was released from the off-the-record agreement because of Cohen's actions. Valdez, 1969

In the summer of 1969, 400,000 young people converged on Woodstock and the world watched Astronaut Neil Armstrong take his first step on the moon. Hillary Rodham was a new college graduate.

Valdez was a different world. "New" Valdez was in its infancy, nestled on the edge of the cloudy teal waters of Valdez Arm in Prince William Sound and crowned by the Chugach mountains. Just two years earlier, about 1,000 residents had moved the whole town 4 miles west following the disastrous 1964 earthquake. It would be several more years before construction of the trans-Alaska pipeline and the marine terminal would draw an army of workers to town.

In 1969, canneries sometimes put the young, seasonal workers up in primitive bunkhouses, fed them and offered access to the occasional shower that never quite washed off the fish smell. Often workers camped nearby. It wasn't uncommon for college kids to come up from the Lower 48 for the chance to make more than $60 a day. Some would work 12- to 16-hours shifts before heading back to school in the fall.

Hillary Rodham has said on many occasions she was one of those young seasonal workers.

In 1992, when Bill Clinton was running for president, Hillary Clinton told New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd over dinner about getting fired from her summer job "scooping the entrails of fish" at what she described as a Valdez fish processing plant "when she complained about their unhealthy looking state."

"They were purple and black and yucky looking," she recalled. She questioned the owner about how long the fish had been dead, and he warned her to stop asking questions. But she continued asking questions, and was fired within a week.

Some of the details of Clinton's story about getting fired from a fish processing gig don't make much sense to locals.

In at least one telling of the story, at a 2015 town hall forum in New Hampshire, Clinton said the operation had disappeared when she showed up the next day to pick up her check. It's unlikely that an entire fish processing operation disappeared into the night, and improbable a company would do so as the result of complaints from a low-level temporary worker who had been fired.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) says American taxpayers should not be paying to provide federal unemployment benefits to “Antifa thugs” and those associated with Black Lives Matter (BLM) who have started riots across the United States.

Last week, Breitbart News exclusively reported Banks’ newly filed legislation, the Support Peaceful Protest Act, which would make convicted rioters ineligible for federal unemployment benefits and force rioters to pay police officers for the law enforcement they provide during the riots.

Banks explained his plan in an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Saturday, saying such a policy would have an immediate impact in terms of ending the months-long rioting.

“It’s occurred to me over the last few weeks that it’s not just George Soros and left-wing groups like BLM that are funding many of these riots and mob protests that are turning violent in the streets of America’s cities, but if you think about it, you and I are also funding it in a way,” Banks said:

These protestors, the Antifa thugs that are showing up and causing so much destruction are also getting $600 a week through unemployment benefits through the CARES Act and the federal benefits that have come about through the coronavirus aid. I want to put a stop to it. If they’re unemployed and they show up on a daily basis, and they’re traveling all over America — especially many of them coming to Washington, DC — the last thing they deserve is our tax dollars going into their pockets to pay the costs for these professional protestors and rioters and causing this kind of ruin and destruction in places like Washington. So that’s one big component of my bill. [Emphasis added]

There are videos online of protestors holding up traffic jams … I think these protestors should have to pay the cost of the law enforcement that have to come out and deal with situations like these. [Emphasis added]

“Why should hardworking taxpayers in my district have to pay whenever these thugs shut down the streets in places like Washington,” Banks said. “They should be on the hook to pay for it too.”

As Banks filed the legislation, a number of attendees from President Trump’s Republican National Convention (RNC) were accosted by Antifa and BLM protesters outside the White House.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and State Rep. Vernon Jones (D-GA) were both accosted, along with others. Breitbart News was on the ground when the instances occurred.

Over the weekend, a Trump supporter was shot and killed in Portland, Oregon, where riots have been ongoing for more than three months.

“Antifa is getting left-wing funding from some source … they’re not just getting that they’re also getting additional unemployment benefits,” Banks said. “So if we took away those sources of federal tax dollars that are going in their pocket, I think it would put a lot of these guys in a situation where they would think twice about their violent activities in places like Washington, DC.”

Clinton described the fish as "salmon" in a "Today" show appearance from 2015 and in an Alaska radio interview earlier this year. But they may have been something else altogether.

Today, Valdez resident Chris Olson works in the museum annex building that stands on the spot where she once processed herring in the summer just a few years after Clinton came through the harbor town.

"When I worked here in '72, I was smacking herring. This is the most disgusting thing in your whole life," she said. "There was salt in these herring and they let 'em rot. Then they come down a conveyor belt and you grab the big fat ones and squeeze the eggs out."

Olson said that she, like Clinton, didn't last long in the job.

"Every kid in Alaska, up until the pipeline, made their money for college by working in the canneries," said Anchorage resident Kathleen "Teeny" Metcalfe. "It was awful work… cold, wet and stinky, and you were on your feet all day. I worked in a cannery in Ninilchik and I remember people fainting because they'd worked so long."

But it was good money, and there was a sense of camaraderie among the young people, even if it meant being "rained on all day long by rotten herring juice," she said.

Another element of Clinton's telling of her summer in Alaska centers on a road trip to Alaska. Bill Clinton described her as "alone" on the journey in his convention speech. But other accounts conflict.

Metcalfe remembers first hearing the story in 1994, when the president and first lady made a brief stopover in Anchorage on their way to the Philippines and spoke to an audience of Alaskans downtown.

"Hillary got up and told a quick little speech and told everyone how she worked in Valdez" the summer after she graduated from college, Metcalfe said. Clinton spoke of handling a vehicle breakdown with a few friends — "it was either the muffler had fallen off or the carburetor," Metcalfe said.

CNN’s Chris Cillizza has become the butt of the joke online after he said that designating unrest in Kenosha and Portland as “riots” is a ploy by Trump. The photo in the article seems to be at odds with the spin, though.

CNN’s political commentator Chris Cillizza has faced a torrent of mockery from conservatives, who accused him of whitewashing violence festering in Kenosha, Wisconsin and Portland, Oregon after he opined that referring to the looting, vandalism and arson in both cities as rioting is unjustified and a “desperate” political ploy by US President Donald Trump.

“To hear Trump and his allies tell it, the situations unfolding in Portland, Oregon, and Kenosha, Wisconsin, in response to several high-profile shootings by the police of Black men is rioting, plain and simple,” Cillizza wrote in the piece titled ‘'Protests' or 'riots?' It makes a BIG difference.’

Trump's efforts to label what is happening in major cities as "riots" speaks at least somewhat to his desperation, politically speaking, at the moment.

The choice of the cover photo, which shows two riot police standing in front of the scorched carcass of a burning building, did not escape the netizens’ attention, triggering a meme-fest.

Critics have also pointed out that it was Portland police, not Trump, who have declared a riot multiple times in some 100 days since the violence first broke out there.

“Serious question: do you have a ballpark idea of how many riots Portland has declared in the last month? And do you think the city is wrong to call them riots?” a commentator asked.

It’s not the first time CNN’s coverage of the protests raises eyebrows. Earlier this week, the cable news channel chose to describe violence in Kenosha as “mostly peaceful protests” while showing viewers exactly the opposite, and invoking a torrent of ridicule upon itself.
