Your TV probably has a setting to switch between "Full RGB" and "Limited RGB", alternatively called "Full Range" and "Limited Range" or something like that. If these are mismatched between your input and your display, e.g. your computer outputs Full RGB and your TV is set to Limited, dark colors will look washed out (blacks look more grey than they normally do for other inputs on the same TV).

I truly believe all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and the good hypnotists guide you through that properly.
