and he's also done a 5 awesome Zelda videos.

Brendan is also responsible for most of the Wiki's on the website.

This all seems nice and innocent, but in these videos, The people that made the "awesome Zelda/Metroid" levels are all made from users of a streaming website that Brendan visits called "Vidya Shorts", where he is a well respected member of their Autismo community. Brendan doesn't hide this on his twitter page, but fails to mention that his friends made the levels. He's basically whoring out his friends streams and not disclosing it.

On top of that, if you spend a short amount of time on VidyaShorts you can see "RaggaFragga" offering early copies of games/press swag to users, if they write his wiki/faq's for him, and he does not disclose this either.

You can't spell IGN without Ignorant.

Hey /gghq/, long story short is I'm doing a run-down of the first year of GamerGate for the final project of one of my classes. Everything's going alright so far, and the professor is on board with the idea but I'm having trouble finding info on GG after May 2015 where the Gamergate Wiki just stops. I'd rather not use solely the Ghazi wiki as a source for four whole months, even if I've used it for a few pieces of info. I admittedly stopped paying total attention to #GG around the time the SVU episode aired but that's my bad.

Basically aside from ##GGinDC, DeepFreeze and SWJ Airplay, I need a refresher on the big happenings between May and August. Images and Links preferred, but a basic rundown works too.

If Anita was to point out examples of sexism in gaming that would make the majority of gamers say "Yeah, that's definitely sexist", would anyone but the most neckbearded virgin say a bad word against her?

For instance, the Borderlands guy John Hemingway referring to Mechromancer as "girlfriend mode" because she's easy to play even if you really suck at FPS games (and then backpedaling like a motherfucker when called out on it), or a female player at a Brawl (I think) tournament who was assumed to be a spectator or brought along as eye-candy according to a commentator. If she was to actually put her hairy arse in gear and bring up shit like that instead of beating up digital women, would you unironically watch her videos and such?

On a related note, what other examples of actual sexism in gaming can you think of? Those are literally the only two that cross my mind, and it's pretty much saying that the whole drama is stretched to breaking point.

I find games like Dragon Age to be somewhat sexist where the dialogue is written for a straight male protagonist, an intern Finds and Replaces "he" with "she", and the writers think that's how you offer a playable female option. I quit the series years ago for unrelated reasons and forget what scenes annoyed me. The protagonist admiring some random female NPC is the easiest guess, though. It's super weird since Mass Effect was so good about making each Shepard a distinct character.

Guild Wars 2, RuneScape, and others suffer from the same thing. Like, "you weren't supposed to pick the female option".

Basically, the only way we can fight in Kotaku's corner on this is by arguing that they're an upstanding journalistic outlet that are worth Bethesda's and Ubisoft's time, and thus should ideally be treated about the same as any other.
