On rutracker or what? I don't think they have minimum seeding ratios but I don't know the exact rules now. I usually seed everything at least 1:1 and it seems to work out okay.
They have some Bela Tarr. You just need to watch out for Russian overdubs in the audio tracks.

I feel like Bullitt is his signature role. I haven't actually watched it but I think that's a good place to start. One I happened to enjoy was The Thomas Crown Affair. It's memorable to me for the stylized split screen effects - very much of its era. You see some of that in this trailer.
The only other McQueen movie I've seen is The Great Escape. It's one of those Hollywood classics that everyone is supposed to watch. McQueen is top billed but it's not really his story because there are many other characters in the mix.

Just finished watching ’The Thomas Crown Affair’ and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Steve’s got a very good screen presence – I don’t a lot of actors could have succeeded as well in making Tommy a likeable character.
I adore the ’60s aesthetics and the music – even the trailer managed to draw me in.
I haven’t seen the ’90s remake, and I probably won’t, because IMHO, there is no need to remake this film, and I don’t think Brosnan is the right actor for the role.
I’ll add this to my collection on blu-ray for sure.
‘The Getaway’ looks interesting as well – adding it to the list along with those you’ve already suggested.

I was lucky enough to find a decent torrent of it with people seeding it.
It is sadly not that easy to find his films from any online store in my country. Found two collections though – one on DVD and one on Blu-ray. Neither is the ideal collection, but the DVD one contains more of the films you suggested, with the exception of ‘Bullit’, which is on the Blu-ray one.
The 1960s has some great fashion, and McQueen always dressed sharply.
There is also a certain quality to the films back then, you don’t get today, with the focus on action and quick cuts.

I was not aware of that, though I can’t say I’m surprised. Hollywood is getting more and more artistically (and morally) bankrupt each year. It will undoubtedly fall into the same pile of unimaginative and trashy remakes they’ve pumped out for years now (Conan, RoboCop, Total Recall, Halloween, etc., etc..
The only good remakes can probably be counted on one hand – The Thing, Scarface, Nosferatu come to mind.

I liked how the ’68 version didn’t bother with nudity/sex scenes, but simply implied that.

I have an old version of utorrent because I didn't like one of their upgrades. It can't handle magnet links so I use Vuze for that.

You have to keep in mind that the video was uploaded to Youtube almost a decade ago. Who knows how were the decoding algorithms Youtube did in order to upload a video back then.

I see it on myspleen as a DVD5 and a remuxed mkv. Both are about 4.3GB. Neither is in HD, and the SD is not even anamorphic. So image quality could be much better.

There is a movie, I forget it's name. It's German I think and from the 90s or early 2000s. It's about a bunch of precocious and street wise young girls. In it there is a scene of a really young girl dancing provocatively in a stripclub. Some guy gives her some money and some older girls come and try to beat him up.

Not bad. I was skeptical at first but it won me over. Salome is like Flaming Creatures in some ways. The film consists of a few people posing with sparkling costumes and props in a small room that is draped in black cloth. The footage is slowed down and the audio track is a mix of romantic music and nature sounds. I'm not quite as excited about the dreamy images as those letterboxd reviewers (the film would be more interesting if it had more layers to it) however I give Salome a pretty good grade overall.

I think a PTP mod made this rip and he was not very meticulous about his work. Silent films are tricky to rip because you should restore the original framerate, which varies from film to film. The ripper didn't do that so there's interlacing in this mkv. Also it's oversized. But so far no one has made a better rip.
