Fighting airblast Anonymous 12/28/14 (Sun) 10:33:32 No.2313 [Open thread]

Is there a trick to be able to shoot pyros while airblasted? When I get tossed into the air, I jerk my crosshairs back onto them and fire, and I see bullets land on the pyro, but no damage is dealt. Is there a way to fix this, or a method to shoot the pyro while juggled?

There are times when this isn't an option. For example, as heavy, when ubercharged and a pyro is knocking you back. I'm asking if there's a technique to continue damaging the pyro while being juggled. Not how to avoid getting juggled.

I'm literally putting my crosshairs on the pyro and I can see bullets hitting him. The problem is no damage is dealt, and I am not sure why. I have seen videos of other people getting airblasted and this problem is not for me alone. Airblast screws up hitscan in some way and I was asking here if anyone knew a fix.

Why does everyone play this class completely wrong? I've always been a combat engie guy because I found regular sentries frustrating and too easy to destroy. I started experimenting last week to see if I could find some way to be effective with them and I've come to realize that almost every sentry spot you see people reusing in both pubs and comp are complete garbage.

I can point out similar spots in just about every map and get the same results.

So someone explain to me why do I see nobody else doing this? Is there some kind of weakness I haven't thought about? I look at competitive guides and videos and every time I see them putting sentries in the same terrible spots as pub players and getting destroyed after maybe 2 kills. Almost all of them have the same issue, the engineer doesn't have hard cover to protect himself with and the sentry isn't sitting back far enough.

But it gives you room to avoid demomen and soldiers almost entirely. I'd rather deal with snipers who I can fight back against and the occasional spy than stickies and rockets.

Wat do guys. I have been a competitive TF2 player from around 2011 to 2013, then I dropped playing completely, because of studies and other shit. I haven't logged into steam for a year. Recently, I wanted to get into it again since I have more free time on my hands. I downloaded Steam and found out I have lost all of my games(there wasn't that much of them anyway) but I downloaded TF2, to find out I have lost all of my items, plus all of stats regarding any activity on my account. Hacking is not a possibility, there isn't any trade history (there should be, too). The only item I have is the Mercenary medal, stating that I started playing in 2011.

I sent Steam Support a question a week ago and they haven't replied yet. What the hell am I supposed to do? Has Gabestein fucked me over? Has anyone encountered anything like this before?

Well, Valve also reskinned the 2011 and 2012 crates. They're exactly the same model except in different colors. Maybe the crates come in pairs of designs.

Backstabs aren't much more broken than any other melee. Facestabs are just a product of lag compensation, nothing that can really be done about them.

I'm calling it right now. All this rubber duck business is leading up to another update that will be even more disappointing than EotL.

That's what's gonna happen next year; Valve's gonna delete all of tf2 because it's "too confusing to new players."
