The Justice Department Takes Actions to Strengthen the Federal Death Penalty

President Trump’s Day-One Executive Order Directed the Department to Prioritize Seeking and Implementing Death Sentences to Protect Public Safety
Today, the Department of Justice acted to restore its solemn duty to seek, obtain, and implement lawful capital sentences—clearing the way for the Department to carry out executions once death-sentenced inmates have exhausted their appeals. Among the actions taken are readopting the lethal injection protocol utilized during the first Trump Administration, expanding the protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad, and streamlining internal processes to expedite death penalty cases. These steps are critical to deterring the most barbaric crimes, delivering justice for victims, and providing long-overdue closure to surviving loved ones.
“The prior administration failed in its duty to protect the American people by refusing to pursue and carry out the ultimate punishment against the most dangerous criminals, including terrorists, child murderers, and cop killers,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Justice is once again enforcing the law and standing with victims.”
On his first day in office, President Trump directed the Department of Justice to prioritize seeking death sentences in appropriate cases, promptly carrying out those sentences, and strengthening the death penalty. Since then, the Department has taken sustained action to implement that directive and reverse the Biden Justice Department’s efforts to erode the death penalty.
The Biden Justice Department, under Attorney General Merrick Garland, broke sharply from its longstanding approach to capital crimes and took extraordinary steps to weaken, delay, and dismantle the death penalty. In doing so, it caused untold harm to the public. Specifically, the Biden Justice Department:
Imposed an indefinite moratorium on executions based on a deeply flawed analysis asserting that the existing federal practice of execution by lethal injection with pentobarbital could not be carried out without risking “unnecessary pain and suffering.”
Declined to seek the death penalty in many horrific cases, even where career prosecutors and Biden’s own U.S. Attorneys recommended it, including cases involving child rapists and murderers; racially motivated mass shooters; and gangsters and drug dealers who murdered law enforcement officers, government witnesses, and informants.
Abandoned capital prosecutions that prior Attorneys General had lawfully authorized and that federal prosecutors were actively litigating—against the wishes of victims’ families and career prosecutors.
Urged President Biden to effectively empty federal death row by commuting the death sentences of 37 of 40 death-row inmates based on Attorney General Garland’s personal opposition to the death penalty without consulting all the victims’ families.

Under the leadership of President Trump and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, the Justice Department is committed to correcting these failures and restoring the lawful administration of the death penalty. The Department has rescinded the Biden-Garland moratorium on federal executions and has authorized seeking death sentences against 44 defendants. Acting Attorney General Blanche has already authorized seeking death sentences against nine of these defendants, including three MS-13 members, two of whom are illegal aliens, accused of murdering a federal witness.
Today, the Justice Department took the following steps to better achieve public safety and deliver justice to victims of the very worst crimes:
Released the Restoring and Strengthening the Federal Death Penalty Report, which examines the actions of the Biden-Garland Justice Department and, after a thorough analysis, finds that the use of pentobarbital to carry out death sentences is consistent with the Eighth Amendment.
Directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to reinstate the execution protocol adopted during the first Trump Administration, which relies on pentobarbital as the lethal agent.
Directed BOP to expand the execution protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad.
Directed BOP to examine relocating or expanding federal death row or constructing an additional execution facility to permit additional manners of execution.
Directed the Office of Legislative Affairs to finalize and deliver a comprehensive legislative proposal to Congress that will improve public safety and better achieve justice for victims.
In the coming weeks, the Department plans to take the following additional steps:
Consider a rule that will empower states to streamline federal habeas review of capital cases. If adopted, the rule will reduce by years the period between conviction and execution in state capital cases.
Publish a proposed rule prohibiting capital inmates from submitting clemency petitions, and the Office of the Pardon Attorney from considering such petitions, until court decisions in the inmate’s direct appeal and first collateral attack are final.
Revise the Justice Manual to return the Department to its historic approach to capital crimes, streamline the process for seeking death sentences, and ensure appropriate consultation with victims’ families.

The Department of Justice on Friday dropped its criminal investigation of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, removing a major hurdle to the Senate confirming President Donald Trump’s nomination of Kevin Warsh to replace him.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, the top federal prosecutor in the District of Columbia, said she was abandoning the probe in a post on X. Her announcement came three days after Warsh testified before the Senate Banking Committee on his nomination.
Pirro had said just Wednesday that she was committed to continuing the criminal probe, which had been crippled by a federal judge’s ruling quashing subpoenas her office issued to the Fed.
Sen. Thom Tillis, a North Carolina Republican and Banking Committee member, had an effective hold on the full Senate from voting to confirm Warsh as Fed chair unless the criminal investigation ended.
Pirro, in her announcement dropping the probe, said that instead of her office, the Federal Reserve’s inspector general “has been asked this morning” to investigate cost overruns in the multi-billion-dollar renovation of the central bank’s headquarters in Washington.
She has claimed the renovation — which the Fed IG has been investigating since last summer — and Powell’s testimony about the project to the Banking Committee was her reason for investigating the Fed chief.
Powell and others had said that the real reason for Pirro’s probe was to pressure him and the Fed to lower interest rates as Trump wanted.
Powell had asked the inspector general in July 2025 to review the renovation project after Trump criticized its cost.

He noted at the time that the IG conducted an audit in 2021 to assess the Fed Board’s “process for planning and managing multiple renovation projects as well as procuring services under various renovation-related contracts.”
An IG spokesperson in a statement to CNBC on Friday said the IG is “actively working to complete” an “evaluation of the Board’s building renovation project,” and that it would make the results of that investigation available to the public and Congress when it is done.
Pirro’s Warning
Pirro in her X post said, “The IG has the authority to hold the Federal Reserve accountable to American taxpayers.”
“I expect a comprehensive report in short order and am confident the outcome will assist in resolving, once and for all, the questions that led this office to issue subpoenas,” she said.
“Accordingly, I have directed my office to close our investigation as the IG undertakes this inquiry,” Pirro said.
“Note well, however, that I will not hesitate to restart a criminal investigation should the facts warrant doing so.”
White House spokesman Kush Desai, in a statement, said, “American taxpayers deserve answers about the Federal Reserve’s fiscal mismanagement, and the Office of the Inspector General’s more powerful authorities best position it to get to the bottom of the matter.”
“The White House remains as confident as before that the Senate will swiftly confirm Kevin Warsh as the next Federal Reserve Chairman to finally restore competence and confidence in Fed decision-making,” Desai said.
The Federal Reserve declined to comment.
CNBC has requested comment from Pirro’s office, Warsh, and Tillis, as well as Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott, R-S.C., and other members of that committee.
Earlier this week, Scott, R-S.C., advocated ending the criminal probe and turning the matter over to Congress.
In a CNBC interview, Scott said that switching responsibility for the investigation from Pirro’s office was essential to getting Warsh confirmed as chair, adding that any findings about the renovation could be made publicly available after a review was complete.
Scott suggested that the Banking panel could work with the House Financial Services Committee to “establish a committee that would have permanent oversight of construction projects within the jurisdiction of the Banking Committee.”
“Wherever that leads us, we should go. If that leads to a criminal referral, so be it,” Scott said. “But give us Kevin Warsh at the Fed so that we have access to all the information necessary.
Scott also said he thought Powell “was incompetent, not criminal.”
Warren Pushback
Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, the top-ranking Democrat on the Banking Committee, said the abandonment of the Powell investigation “is just an attempt to clear the path for Senate Republicans to install President Trump’s sock puppet Kevin Warsh as Fed Chair.”
“Let’s be clear what the Justice Department announced today: they threatened to restart the bogus criminal investigation into Fed Chair Powell at any time while failing to drop their ridiculous criminal probe against Governor Lisa Cook,” Warren said.
Trump last summer sought to fire Cook, who, like Powell, had resisted his demands to cut interest rates, after an official in his administration claimed that she had made false statements on mortgage applications.
Cook denied those allegations and filed a lawsuit seeking to block her termination. She has remained on the Fed’s Board of Governors as the Supreme Court considers her case.
“Anyone who believes Donald Trump’s corrupt scheme to take over the Fed is over is fooling themselves,” Warren said. “The Senate should not proceed with the nomination of Kevin Warsh.”

NASA Releases Powerful LAVA Software to US Aerospace Industry

For years, NASA engineers have turned to a tool called the Launch, Ascent, and Vehicle Aerodynamics (LAVA) framework to solve airflow challenges that could mean the difference between mission success or failure.
When engineers need to know how a spacecraft will navigate re-entry or whether a new aircraft wing design will create enough lift, they turn to LAVA.
NASA recently released this tool to the aerospace community.
LAVA is a computational fluid dynamics software package NASA developed to advance critical aerospace missions, harnessing the agency’s collective expertise. It helps predict how air moves around rockets, aircraft, and spacecraft with stunning accuracy.
The same computational tools simulating Mars landers, predicting launch environments, and optimizing aircraft for efficiency is now available to U.S. researchers, companies, and innovators.
“This isn’t only about releasing software; it’s about accelerating innovation,” said Jared Duensing, LAVA team lead at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley.
“When university researchers can run more complex simulations and when small companies can optimize designs with NASA-grade precision, we’re not only sharing tools, we’re unleashing potential.”
Big questions, fast answers
NASA has been using computational tools for years to predict how air will move around new aircraft or simulate the thunderous acoustic environment of a rocket launch.
Imagine watching your favorite show on a slow flip-phone versus loading it on a lightning-fast network in crystal-clear 4K high definition. That’s the kind of transformation LAVA brings to aerospace simulations.
Complex problems that once took days or weeks now run in hours.
The LAVA software also is compatible with computer hardware employing specialized microprocessors known as graphics processing units (GPUs), which can run many tasks at the same time and reduce power consumption when compared to systems using traditional, more general-purpose central processing units.
For traditionally costly simulation methods needed for NASA’s most complex aerospace applications, LAVA has yielded stand-out efficiency on NASA’s flagship GPU-based supercomputer, Cabeus.

But the real breakthrough is how LAVA makes the seemingly impossible routine. Aerospace engineers rely on “scale-resolving simulations” to capture high-fidelity renderings of phenomena that can have profound effects on missions, including pressure waves, turbulent swirls, and acoustic signatures.
Those were once resource- and time-consuming. Now, LAVA runs them on modest computing resources, making them readily available and easy to produce, even for novice users.
At NASA, engineers have put those capabilities into action to help launch and land spacecraft on the Moon and Mars while driving innovation for the next-generation aircraft.
When NASA needed to understand supersonic parachute deployment for Mars missions – something you can’t easily test in Earth’s atmosphere – LAVA provided critical insights.
When engineers had to predict how ice formations would affect aircraft performance, LAVA delivered answers on conditions that are critical for flight safety.
To help astronauts launch safely on Artemis missions, LAVA simulated the launch of Artemis I, enabling engineers to understand the Space Launch System flight environment in detail.
Releasing the software means that industry will be able to harness those same capabilities, potentially applying them toward everything from large supersonic airliners to smaller delivery drones and air taxis.
Three approaches, one framework
Most computational fluid dynamics software forces engineers to pick one approach, like being handed a hammer when you need an entire toolbox.
The LAVA framework offers three options for generating meshes, or grids of connected dots used to predict the behavior of fluids (including air) in a simulation.
This allows users to switch between the meshes depending on a specific problem or use multiple mesh types to compare predictions. They also can use LAVA alongside other tools for analysis and optimization to improve designs.
Among many other NASA programs and projects, the work on LAVA was supported through NASA’s Transformational Tools and Technologies project, which works to develop new computational tools to help predict aircraft performance.
The project is part of NASA’s Transformative Aeronautics Concepts Program under its Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.

NASA Employees Duped in Chinese Phishing Scheme Targeting U.S. Defense Software

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has revealed how a Chinese national posed as a U.S. researcher as part of a spear-phishing campaign to obtain sensitive information from the space agency, as well as from government entities, universities, and private companies, in violation of export control laws.
"For years, NASA employees and research collaborators thought they were simply sharing software with colleagues," the OIG said in a Thursday release. "Instead, they were emailing sensitive defense technology to a Chinese national who was impersonating U.S. engineers."
The individual linked to the campaign was outed as Chinese national Song Wu in September 2024, when the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) announced charges against him for orchestrating a multi-year campaign that stretched from January 2017 to December 2021 and involved targeting dozens of U.S. professors, researchers, and engineers.
Some of the victims of the campaign were employed at NASA, the Air Force, the Navy, the Army, and the Federal Aviation Administration, while the others worked at major universities and private sector firms.
According to the 2024 indictment, Song was an engineer at the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), a Chinese state-owned aerospace and defense conglomerate founded in 2008.
In an attempt to obtain modeling software used for aerospace design and weapons development, Song and his co-conspirators are alleged to have conducted extensive research on their targets by masquerading as friends and colleagues to gain access to proprietary software and source code.
The OIG said the scheme was successful in a handful of cases where victims shared the sensitive information with the imposter accounts managed by Song et al without realizing they were violating U.S. export control laws.
Song has been indicted on counts of wire fraud and 14 counts of aggravated identity theft, and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for each count of wire fraud. He also faces a two-year consecutive sentence if convicted of aggravated identity theft. The 40-year-old remains at large.
Adding Song to the U.S. Most Wanted List, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said the specialized software could be used for industrial and military applications, including the development of advanced tactical missiles and aerodynamic design and assessment of weapons.
"As phishing campaigns continue to become more sophisticated, there are common clues that can betray scammers and expose their export fraud schemes," the OIG said. "In Song's case, he made multiple requests for the same software and did not justify why he needed it."
"Export control scammers also often suggest unusual payment methods (such as suspicious wire transfers); abruptly change the terms or source of payment; and use unconventional transfer methods to mask their identity and evade shipping restrictions."

N.C. teen charged in alleged Houston synagogue plot was playing online 'fantasy game,' parents say
HOUSTON — The parents of an 18-year-old Lexington, North Carolina, woman charged in connection with an alleged plot to attack a Houston synagoguesay their daughter had no means or intention to carry out any attack, describing the online activity that led to her arrest as nothing more than fantasy role-play.
Angelina Han Hicks was arrested on Wednesday by the Davidson County Sheriff's Office and faces two felony conspiracy counts after investigators alleged she and co-conspirators planned a mass-casualty attack at Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue in Houston. A juvenile was separately charged in Harris County, Texas.
Her father, Dannie Hicks, speaking in an interview recorded shortly after the arrest to KHOU 11 News sister station WFMY, pushed back on the allegations.
"It's ludicrous. It's a fantasy game. And that's the way she looked at it as a fantasy game online," Dannie Hicks said.
He questioned how his daughter could have carried out any real-world attack.
"It wasn't no dagone terror attacks. How in the world would you pull something like that off? She don't drive. She ain't got a car. She don't have guns. She don't know how to use a gun. She never shot a gun. How's she gonna get to Texas? It's nuts what they've done to her," Dannie Hicks said.
Hicks' father said the charges have upended the family. He and her mother are older, he said, and deal with medical issues. Hicks had been living with them and, by their account, rarely left home on her own.(there seems to be imbalance with her activities)
"She never left us more than a day or two at a time, and that was with adults, not no teenagers," her mother said.
The family described Hicks as a well-liked, trouble-free teenager who was weeks away from graduating from Valley Regional Academy and was enrolled in a dual-enrollment program at a local community college.
"She was supposed to graduate in two weeks," her father said.
Her parents also raised concerns about the conditions of her detention. Hicks is being held at the Davidson County Detention Center, where bond was set at $10 million secured.
Her father described a recent phone call with her.
"She told us, fearing for her safety. In the situation she's in, they won't let us bring her any clothes. She don't have socks. She don't have underwear. She wears the same jumpsuit, and they don't wash them," Dannie Hicks said.
He said she is being held in a cell with minimal bedding.
"She's in a cell with no blanket, no pillow, a towel for a blanket, and no pillow, and a thin mattress.I didn't know it was that bad. I had no idea," Dannie Hicks said.
Her father also noted thatHicks takes high-powered medicationand suggested that could be a factor in whatever she may have said or done online. He said the family is not tech-savvy and had no insight into the gaming platforms she used.
"She loves playing these fantasy video games on Roblox. That's what started her out with," he said, adding, "We're not up on the technology of these computers and gaming platforms and all that. We don't know nothing about them."
The FBI Charlotte Joint Terrorism Task Force opened its investigation Tuesday after a tip came in to a North Carolina law enforcement agency. Agents and Davidson County detectives went to the family's Lexington home, where investigators say they found evidence of the alleged plot.
Hicks is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on May 13. The Davidson County Sheriff's Office has noted that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The joint FBI investigation is ongoing. The Justice Department on Friday dropped a criminal investigation into the Federal Reserve and its chair, Jerome Powell, regarding a renovation project at the central bank's Washington headquarters.
"This morning the Inspector General for the Federal Reserve has been asked to scrutinize the building costs overruns – in the billions of dollars – that have been borne by taxpayers," U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro said in a post on X.
"Accordingly, I have directed my office to close our investigation as the IG undertakes this inquiry."
Pirro added that she would "not hesitate to restart a criminal investigation should the facts warrant doing so."
The inspector general for the Federal Reserve has already reviewed the renovation project, and found no wrongdoing. It was asked again to review the project in 2025 by Powell, amid unrelenting pressure from President Donald Trump and his top allies.
The Inspector General's office said that the review mentioned by Pirro on Friday was not new and that it was continuing to compile the review requested by Powell last year.
"In July of last year, the OIG announced that it was conducting an evaluation of the Board’s building renovation project," a spokesperson said. "This assessment includes our independent analysis of the project’s substantial cost increases and overruns."
"We are actively working to complete our review, and look forward to making the results available to the public and Congress upon completion," the spokesperson added.
The decision could clear the way for Trump's nominee to chair the Fed, Kevin Warsh, to advance toward a confirmation vote in the Senate.
Warsh's confirmation has been blocked by Sen. Thom Tillis due to what the Republican from North Carolina called a "bogus" investigation of Powell.
Tillis and numerous other lawmakers have said it did not appear Powell committed any crime.
The Federal Reserve declined to comment on Pirro's announcement.
"American taxpayers deserve answers about the Federal Reserve’s fiscal mismanagement, and the Office of the Inspector General’s more powerful authorities best position it to get to the bottom of the matter," White House spokesman Kush Desai said in a statement.
"The White House remains as confident as before that the Senate will swiftly confirm Kevin Warsh as the next Federal Reserve Chairman to finally restore competence and confidence in Fed decision-making," Desai added.
The criminal probe from Pirro's office centered on the renovation of two historic buildings owned by the central bank.
The Fed, which said that the buildings "have not been comprehensively renovated since their construction in the 1930s," initially pegged the cost for the project around $1.9 billion. However, the cost rose to around $2.5 billion in the years since that first estimate.
The central bank said the cost increases were due to unforseen changes to the plans, the rising cost of raw materials, equipment and labor. It also said that it uncovered more asbestos on the site than expected, as well as a sinkhole.

Scientists in China have discovered and identified the 11th new lunar mineral, according to findings reported by the China Geological Survey.
The newly discovered mineral, named Cerium-Magnesium Changesite, exhibits a distinctive fluorescence effect, and grain size ranges from roughly three to 25 micrometers—smaller than the diameter of a human hair.
The glassy mineral is transparent and brittle, and it could reshape lighting technology on Earth.
Fluorescent mineral discovered in lunar meteorite sample
Cerium-Magnesium Changesite was isolated from the first lunar meteorite sample retrieved from the ground in China.
The sample is a single spherical meteorite weighing 44 grams, with a dark molten outer shell.
As reported by CGTN, scientists have described Cerium-Magnesium Changesite colourless, transparent, and structurally fragile.
Though its grains measure less than 10 micrometers, placing it within the microscopic scale, its physical behavior may have tangible technological implications.
What distinguishes the material is its pronounced fluorescence.
According to a report from The Times of India, scientists claim this property could make it particularly valuable in the development of more efficient light-emitting diodes, or LEDs.
Fluorescent materials are central to LED performance, influencing brightness, color quality, and energy efficiency.
The newly identified compound may enable lighting systems that are both more powerful and less energy-intensive than current designs.
The discovery adds momentum to a growing field of lunar mineralogy.
Every new lunar mineral discovered broadens scientific understanding of the Moon’s geological history while also providing the possibility of practical applications on Earth. “Why it is new is that when it was formed, it experienced two different conditions.
The physical condition was temperature and pressure, while the chemical condition was its element content,” said Che Xiaochao, associate researcher of the Institute of Geology of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, as per CGTN.
“The discovery of a new mineral in extraterrestrial space would indicate that conditions once existed beyond Earth that have never occurred on our planet,” they continued.
“If the same mineral is later found on Earth, it would suggest our planet once experienced similar conditions, allowing us to use it to infer and compare broader geological and celestial activities.”
China’s lunar learnings
The new discovery and analysis builds on earlier work linked to China’s lunar exploration efforts. The Chang’e-5 lunar sample return mission, for example, revealed a new phosphate mineral called Changesite-(Y) in 2022.
This contained an unusual elemental composition not commonly found on Earth.
While the newly reported mineral is distinct, it reflects a broader pattern: lunar materials often exhibit unique chemical and optical properties shaped by the Moon’s extreme environment.
Researchers believe these differences could be harnessed in multiple industries.
Beyond lighting, advanced materials derived from lunar minerals may eventually influence electronics, energy systems, and manufacturing processes.
However, large-scale applications remain speculative, given the technical and economic challenges of sourcing material from space.
For now, the focus remains on analysis and replication. Scientists will attempt to reproduce the mineral’s properties in laboratory conditions, a necessary step before any commercial use can be considered.

On Sunday, April 19, a Lufthansa Boeing 787 Dreamliner and a Qatar Airways Cargo Boeing 777F were involved in a close call over the skies of Bogotá,at one point being separated by just a few hundred feet. The flight paths of the two aircraft converged on final approach to Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport (BOG), forcing the Lufthansa 787 to execute a go-around maneuver as the 777F flew directly beneath it.
Early reports suggest that an air traffic control mistake was responsible for the loss of separation. A temporary runway closure at the airport led ATC to reassign the Lufthansa 787 to the same runway that the Qatar freighter was about to land on, without recognizing the potential for a midair collision.

This incident occurred during near-dark conditions just before 7:00 pm local time, with a separate aircraft incident on one of BOG's runways complicating matters. The two flights were both cleared to land on BOG's southern runway following the temporary closure of the airport's northern runway due to an unspecified problem with another plane.
Lufthansa's 787 was initially due to land on the northern runway, but was redirected following its closure. Because the Lufthansa plane was traveling at a higher approach speed, it put the jet on a possible collision course with the Qatar 777F, with just a few hundred feet of separation at their closest point of proximity.

Within 24 hours of the President’s announcement to move the command on Sept. 2, 2025, a small team was on the ground in Huntsville.
Since then, U.S. Space Command has been expeditiously carrying out the President’s direction, led by its Redstone Transition Team, located full-time in Alabama.
The April 29th ribbon cutting ceremony represents the significant milestone achieved as personnel from U.S. Space Command’s intelligence directorate begin to execute their operational missions from Redstone.
U.S. Space Command, working with allies and partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.

Zelensky likely ‘directly involved in corruption’ – EU-funded anti-graft NGO

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has likely participated in embezzlement involving the country’s top officials, Daria Kaleniuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Action Center (AntAC), has claimed.
Kiev has been rocked by several corruption scandals in the last few years, with the most notable occurring in November 2025 when anti-graft agencies uncovered a $100 million kickback scheme at the state nuclear operator Energoatom.
The investigation implicated Timur Mindich, a close associate of Zelensky, as the mastermind of the criminal operation.
The scandal led to the resignations of several high-ranking officials, including the Ukrainian leader’s influential chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, and Energy Minister German Galushchenko, who was later arrested.
In her interview with Ukrainska Pravda last week, Kaleniuk said that there is “a high probability” that Zelensky was “directly involved” in corruption, despite him repeatedly denying any knowledge of any schemes by members of his government.
“All of his closest friends and most likely he himself built homes for themselves” since he came to power, the head of the Ukrainian NGO, which has been around since 2012 and receives funding from the EU and US, stressed.
She also warned that Zelensky could be planning another attack on the Western-backed National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) in an attempt to shield himself from a possible investigation.
“The anti-corruption bodies that are doing their job can stop doing their job at any moment,” Kaleniuk warned.
The Ukrainian leader already tried putting NABU and SAPO under his control last summer, but was forced to reverse course after backlash from Kiev’s foreign backers and protests in the streets.
Despite the ongoing corruption scandals, the EU approved another €90 billion ($106 billion) for Ukraine on Thursday, with the European Council saying that it would begin disbursements “as soon as possible” in the second quarter of 2026.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov insisted previously that the US and EU, which “coddled” Zelensky, should share the responsibility for the corruption in Ukraine.
She suggested separately that the Ukrainian leader uses the “corrupt deal” that he has with Western politicians to “blackmail” them into continuing support for Kiev in the conflict with Moscow.

I posted this yesterday for the 100th time, someone has to tell Jim to reboot the image and web servers, from there anon keep bread counts below 500 to help alleviate the problem:
Here is the problem with this site and you can test it out for yourself. I explained this about dozens of times now for the last few years. It is about bad image urls. How to test. Load a page by the browser refresh button and take note of how many posts there are at the bottom of the page. Let's say there are 500. Those 500 posts, you will be able to expand and enlarge the images on the first 500 posts. But if another anon posts say 501 and above, those posts you cannot enlarge the image because they have a bad image url. If you open that image in a new tab, you will get a not found, because it the image it looks for is of this signature https://8kun.top/… If you add .nerv like this https://nerv.8kun.top/… the image will be found, and you can expand it. Now why is that important? Because the bottom ad server is also using at times bad urls automatically. Ping ponging between A, B, A, B, A… of bad image urls which not both eats the web server's and image server resource, which eventually the proxy server sees, and then starts shutting down all requests. This is why posts take long, and images do not showed for a long time due to limited system resources. So the code for the reply button and whatever is generating ads, has to add the 5 characters of .nerv in the urls. Why is this important? Because all it takes is one anon to walk away from a web page that has a fail ad server image that puts the web server in an endless search loop, and it will eventually take down not only 8kun but 8ch too, because they both rely on the same image server. Hope that makes sense. 5 character fix in one or two places, that is it.

A judge on Friday overturned the firearms prohibition on James O’Keefe after West Palm Beach Police confiscated his guns
Last month James was served with a restraining order while he was livestreaming at his West Palm Beach, Florida, headquarters on Tuesday.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Deputy served James with a domestic violence restraining order.
The domestic violence restraining order was from Matthew Tyrmand, a former Project Veritas board member.
“Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department just served me with a domestic violence restraining order from Matthew Tyrmand. The former board member from Project Veritas who said he wants to murder me,” James O’Keefe said.
“Despite admitting multiple times on hidden camera wanting me dead, Matthew Tyrmand filed a restraining order against ME in Miami Dade County,” O’Keefe said.
“Saying such things as: “I would kill him [O’Keefe]. Because he is one of the most evil people I’ve ever known.,”” he said.
“He even shot up my book with rifle bullets through my heart on the cover. The audacity of evil has no bounds,” O’Keefe said.
James O’Keefe previously honey-trapped Matthew Tyrmand at a restaurant.
During the encounter in Miami Beach that was recorded by camera, Tyrmand ‘admitted’ to being an FBI-Southern District of New York (SDNY) informant.
So Tyrmand responded by slapping James with a restraining order.
James O’Keefe appeared before a judge in a Miami court earlier this month.
The judge extended the restraining order and ordered James to surrender his firearms.
On Thursday evening, West Palm Beach Police arrived to OMG’s headquarters in Florida and confiscated O’Keefe’s firearms.

DOJ Reinstates Firing Squad as Official Federal Execution Method, Moves to ‘Restore Solemn Duty’ and Deliver Justice for Victims of the Most Barbaric Crimes

The move is part of several broader reforms aimed at “restoring the Department’s solemn duty to seek, obtain, and implement lawful capital sentences,” whichincludes readopting the lethal injection protocolused during President Donald Trump’s first term,expanding available execution methods to include the firing squad and other constitutional alternatives, and streamlining internal processes to expedite death penalty cases.
The department also released a report titled “Restoring and Strengthening the Federal Death Penalty.”
“The prior administration failed in its duty to protect the American people by refusing to pursue and carry out the ultimate punishment against the most dangerous criminals, including terrorists, child murderers, and cop killers,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a press release.
Blanche continued, “Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Justice is once again enforcing the law and standing with victims.”
The department criticized the Biden administration for imposing a moratorium on federal executions, directing prosecutors not to seek the death penalty in appropriate cases, dismantling key capital punishment infrastructure, and recommending the commutation of 37 lawful death sentences without fully consulting victims’ families or prosecutors.
“Under the leadership of President Trump and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, the Justice Department is committed to correcting these failures and restoring the lawful administration of the death penalty,” the department said in the announcement.
“The Department has rescinded the Biden-Garland moratorium on federal executions and has authorized seeking death sentences against 44 defendants. Acting Attorney General Blanche has already authorized seeking death sentences against nine of these defendants, including three MS-13 members, two of whom are illegal aliens, accused of murdering a federal witness.”
The DOJ cited serious supply and legal challenges with lethal injection drugs as a major reason for expanding options.
Some states have already reinstated firing squads due to these issues.
