FDA Approved ‘First Oral Blood Thinning Medication For Children’ Ahead Of Vaccine Rollout For Ages 5-11

The Food and Drug Administration approved the “first oral blood thinning medication for children” a few months ahead of their COVID-19 vaccine rollout for children ages 5-11.

In late June 2021, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a drug called Pradaxa; oral pellets to treat children 3 months to less than 12 years of age with venous thromboembolism, a condition that involves blood clots forming in the veins. Pradaxa is the “first FDA-approved blood thinning medication that children can take by mouth,” reads the FDA News Release.

“With today’s approval of Pradaxa, pediatric patients have another therapeutic option to treat and prevent potentially deadly blood clots,” said Ann Farrell, M.D., director of the Division of Non-Malignant Hematology for the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.

A few months later, the FDA authorized children ages 5-11 to be injected with the Pfizer COVID-19 shot.

Blood clotting has been a somewhat rare but extremely serious and potentially life threatening side effect for all of the controversial COVID-19 vaccines. As National File reported this week, a new study headed by a Mayo Clinic doctor suggests that individuals who were injected with the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine are 3.5 times more likely to get Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis, a potentially fatal blood clot in the brain.

Earlier this year, multiple countries across the world halted the use of the Astrazeneca COVID-19 injection due to blood clots. Around the same time, a shock study found that the clotting was just as likely to occur from a Pfizer shot.

Australian equestrian star Cienna Knowles, an otherwise healthy individual, received the Pfizer COVID-19 injection and was ultimately hospitalized and said she experienced blood “clots all through my legs, stomach, and through both lungs.”

“The amount of clots on my lungs is equivalent to having broken ribs, so a little painful and hard to breathe. As part of my treatment for my recovery, I am now medicated & never have been in my life. As a result of these, I have internal bleeding and nose bleeds as one of the side effects of my medications along with a line of other things I choose to keep private,” Knowles said on Instagram.

Fentanyl seizures at border double over the past 12 months: report

Seizures of​ fentanyl at the southern border have spiked over the past 12 months, doubling the amount of the lethal drug confiscated a year earlier, according to a report on Tuesday.

​In the period from October 2020 to September 2021, Customs and Border P​rotection officials seized 11,201 pounds of fentanyl, the Washington Examiner reported. ​

One kilogram of fentanyl ​is equivalent to 500,000 lethal doses, the federal government estimates, meaning the seizures represent 2.5 billion doses prevented from entering the country, the report said.

​In fiscal year 2020, 4,791 pounds of fentanyl were confiscated. ​​

The ​increase in seizures is closely connected to the jump in overdose deaths in the US.

“If they’re seizing a lot, it’s because a lot is coming in — because you don’t know the percentage of how much is coming through that they’re actually seizing,” Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, vice dean for public health practice and community engagement at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore​, told the Washington Examiner.

Dr. Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, part of the National Institutes of Health, ​told the newspaper that fentanyl is easier to produce and transport, but much more deadly than other drugs.

De Blasio: 12,000 NYC Workers Seeking Vaccine Exemptions Will Likely Be Denied

Roughly 12,000 New York City workers have asked for an exemption from Mayor Bill de Blasio’s coronavirus vaccine mandate, but the Democrat mayor warned on Monday it is likely many will not be approved.

New York’s vaccine mandate for city workers went into effect Friday at 5:00 p.m., which stood as the deadline for employees to submit proof of receiving at least one vaccine dose. On Monday, the city began placing workers who refused on unpaid leave. About 9,000 employees have been placed on unpaid leave, but an even greater number, 12,000, are seeking either religious or medical exemptions. However, de Blasio warned on Monday that it is unlikely the bulk of workers will see their requests granted.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, he said the city must go through the requests “carefully and meticulously” and predicted it will play out over the coming days.

When asked if the workers will see their requests granted, de Blasio suggested it will not turn out in their favor.

“I don’t want to prejudge except to say what we know from previous experience is that it was– certainly looking at Department of Education, we got a lot of requests for exemption,” he said. “Relatively few were granted.”

The mayor said the religious exemptions, particularly, are “pretty narrow criteria,” but the city believes it to be “very accurate” and “very fair.”

“So I think you’ll see a number of people ultimately find that the exemption is not approved, and then they still have that chance to correct get vaccinated come back,” he added, suggesting unvaccinated workers are making a fundamental mistake by seeking to make the decision for themselves:

On Tuesday, de Blasio boasted that 2,000 workers who were previously unvaccinated “did the right thing” and got their first shot in the last 24 hours. Overall, he said 92 percent of the city’s workforce is vaccinated, “proving that vaccine mandates work.”

Last month, the Democrat said he preferred to “respect people’s intelligence” before forcing them to get a vaccine against their will. Evidently, he no longer holds that position.

Merry left them a long while in the hall, and they had time

Frodo was sitting at a table with a lot of papers in front of

him. He looked indisposed – to see Sackville-Bagginses at

any rate; and he stood up, fidgeting with something in his

pocket. But he spoke quite politely.

The Sackville-Bagginses were rather offensive. They began

by offering him bad bargain-prices (as between friends) for

various valuable and unlabelled things. When Frodo replied

that only the things specially directed by Bilbo were being

given away, they said the whole affair was very fishy.

Prime Minister Janša made his comments on social media network Twitter, saying: “Antifa is a global terrorist organization. Supported by the capital of financial speculators forging profits at the expense of the chaos caused by the operation.”

The Slovenian leader was reacting to a post by American journalist Andy Ngo which highlighted Antifa violence over the weekend in the French city of Nantes which saw the far-left extremists attempt to disrupt a meeting of the conservative writer and French presidential hopeful Eric Zemmour.

According to a report from the newspaper Le Figaro, around 600 far-left extremists gathered in Nantes to oppose Zemmour on Saturday and some chanted for his death and clashed with police.

“We know who Joseph Stalin was, we know the hundreds of thousands of deaths he caused, these people are only his distant descendants,” Zemmour said in reaction to the far-left extremists.

Footage of the violence, as well as graffiti calling for Zemmour to be murdered, was reported by French journalist Clément Lanot.

Prime Minister Janez Janša is not the first world leader to label Antifa as a terrorist group. Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump urged former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to designate Antifa as a terrorist group earlier this year before leaving office.

The year prior, former U.S. Attorney General William Barr stated that Antifa members were involved in violence that amounted to domestic terrorism.

“The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly,” Barr said.

In 2019, when President Trump first discussed declaring Antifa a terrorist group, left-wing figures across Europe, particularly in Germany, reacted by declaring their support for the extremist group.

Media didn’t disclose doctor’s $2m in Pfizer funding in coverage promoting child vaccination…

Several of Canada’s largest legacy media companies failed to reveal nearly $2 million worth of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals funding that a leading pediatrics professor from Alberta has received while pushing for vaccination of 5-11-year-olds.

Dr. Jim Kellner, a pediatrician and University of Calgary professor, has been cited as an authority in dozens of articles published by CTV News, CBC, Global News, the Toronto Star, and the Globe and Mail on vaccinating children and other pandemic related issues.

Since 2014, Kellner’s research has received $1,940,443 from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for various vaccine studies, with the most recent grant of $787,004 being allocated until the year 2022.

Kellner’s research funding was not disclosed by the above outlets in numerous articles going back to 2020 despite it being publicly reported in his CV, which is published on the University of Calgary’s website.

According to his CV, the latest spate of funding is for “Calgary Area Streptococcus pneumoniae Epidemiology Research” and a “Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine.”

True North reached out to Kellner for comment and clarification regarding his Pfizer funding and media appearances but did not receive a reply by the time this article was published.

Throughout the pieces where Kellner is cited, he is alternatively referenced to as a “professor and researcher,” “pediatrician”, “infectious disease specialist at the Alberta Children’s Hospital,” ”infectious disease expert”, “member of the federal COVID-19 Immunity Taskforce” and other variations. Kellner is also employed by Alberta Health Services.

An article published by CBC News this Wednesday titled “Wondering about vaccinating younger kids against COVID-19? Alberta experts weigh in,” cites Kellner on the topic of giving the Pfizer vaccine to kids without referencing his funding.

“From my perspective the risk benefit analysis is showing there’s a definite benefit to providing the vaccine to prevent infection and prevent serious outcomes of COVID-19,” Kellner is quoted as saying.

In another article published in April by the public broadcaster, Kellner encourages expanding the groups of people eligible for a COVID vaccine “especially by age” and is quoted as saying that “the No. 1 thing that can make a difference is vaccination.”

According to CBC search results, Kellner’s name turns up over 41 times and appears in numerous videos and articles on the topic of vaccination without any indication of how much money he has received from the vaccine manufacturer Pfizer.

On the eve of the country's most highly anticipated election since the 2020 race for president, mainstream networks ABC, CBS and NBC avoided mentioning Virginia's gubernatorial showdown in their Monday night newscasts.

According to Grabien transcripts, and first reported by NewsBusters, each of the networks ignored covering the tight race between former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Republican businessman Glenn Youngkin, opting instead to focus on topics that didn't spotlight electoral challenges for Democrats.

ABC spent the largest portion of its coverage on climate change, focusing at one point on Queen Elizabeth's call to action to address the issue. CBS spent a large chunk of time covering former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin's new book, while NBC spent nearly two minutes talking about a food truck in Austin, Texas.

The race is expected to be a bellwether on the fate of Democrats in next year's midterms and a potential referendum on President Joe Biden's job performance.

A number of hot-button issues have elevated the race into the national spotlight, including debates over coronavirus-related mandates, transgender issues and the teaching of critical race theory in schools.

McAuliffe, most notably, faced intense criticism after he claimed in a September debate with Youngkin that parents shouldn't be able to tell schools what they could and couldn't teach, while Youngkin has advocated for parents to be included in dialogue surrounding their children's education.
