Imagine hearing noises from your little girl's room and when you go to investigate you find a middle-aged man living in her closet. That became a reality for one Florida family, Sunday. The details of this case are stranger than fiction and may disturb some readers.

Police say they arrested an adult male in a 15-year-old child's room after her parents discovered him 'cowering' in the closet. Jonathan Rossmoine, 36, reportedly had first found the girl two years before while on a virtual online chat where users have 3D avatars that they use to interact with one another. Authorities say that Rossmoine had been hiding in the teen's room for at least a month before he was discovered.

Islamic extremists targeted Europe for terror attacks every two weeks after fall of ISIS

Extremists have attempted or carried out an attack in European countries every two weeks since the defeat of Daesh (ISIS), a new report claims.

The study, carried out by the Counter Extremism Group (CEG) in the UK, cited 33 confirmed plots of religiously motivated terrorism in European countries in the months after Daesh forces were driven out of their last stronghold of Baghuz in Syria in March 2019.

The report warned that, despite Daesh’s collapse in the Middle East, the threat posed by Islamic extremists remained dangerously high, and that “tens of thousands of radicals scattered across Europe have not disappeared” because of its defeat, the Telegraph reported.

CEG’s analysis came from information dating back to January 2014 held by authorities in the UK and various European countries regarding known terror plots.

In comparison, extremists attempted or carried out a plot every week before the fall of Daesh.

North Korea arrests 20 remittance brokers for using illegal Chinese mobile phones

North Korea has arrested 20 “phone brokers” who arrange calls and money transfers from outside the country in a nationwide crackdown on illegal mobile phone users, sources familiar with the cases told RFA.

The accused — some of whom were moonlighting security officials — were arrested in the Ryangang provincial capital Hyesan, a northern city on the Chinese border, after they were caught arranging phone calls and remittances between North Koreans and their relatives in China and South Korea.

“They were arrested on charges of contacting the outside world and using Chinese mobile phones, which are prohibited,” a law enforcement official from Ryanggang province, who requested anonymity to speak freely, told RFA’s Korean Service Tuesday.

Phone brokers in parts of North Korea close enough to the border to access Chinese mobile networks earn money charging high fees to help North Koreans living abroad send remittances to their family members through China.

Pennsylvania Counties Confess They Submitted Inaccurate Data to Gov't on Qualified Voters

Several counties in Pennsylvania admit they submitted erroneous information to a government agency regarding eligible voters.

The conservative group, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the state of Pennsylvania and three of its counties in April. The case noted that up to 800,000 registered voters in the commonwealth should have been classified as "inactive."

The group issued a warning earlier this year after discovering the number of registered voters was too high.

Pennsylvania admitted it approved incorrect data to the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) for Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties. Those counties also reported their own amended figures, which varied from those submitted by the state.

Federal law stipulates that Pennsylvania must confirm to the EAC how many voter registrations were removed from their rolls because the voter died or moved out of the state.

The lawsuit highlighted the unusually low number of removals under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).

Judicial Watch compared registration data in the EAC's report to data from the Census Bureau and determined that Bucks, Chester, and Delaware Counties had total registration rates between 96 and 97 percent.

It was noted that the percentage was high for the state of Pennsylvania, especially when compared to the rest of the country. This led to the conclusion that the outdated registrations had not been removed.

"Pennsylvania's voting rolls are such a mess that even Pennsylvania can't tell a court the details of how dirty or clean they are. The simple solution is to follow federal law and take the necessary and simple steps to clean up their voter rolls," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Family sues Hawaii nursing home operator after coronavirus-related death of Vietnam War veteran

A wrongful death lawsuit against the operator of the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo has been filed by the sons of Chris Drayer, a decorated Vietnam War veteran who died after contracting in Hawaii’s largest coronavirus nursing home outbreak.

The complaint filed in Circuit Court against Utah-based Avalon Health Care and four of its affiliates by Noah Bennett-Drayer and Daniel Bennett-Drayer alleges the elder Drayer died due to “Avalon’s substandard care and non-existent health safety practices.”

“Chris Drayer did not deserve to die at Yukio. He died because Avalon failed to keep him safe. It is beyond belief that nearly six months after the onset of the worst pandemic in 100 years, a facility caring for the most vulnerable members of our community could fail to practice the most basic of protections for its residents,” Hawaii island attorney Jeffrey Foster said in a news release. “The 26 veterans at Yukio who have died due to COVID-19 appear to have been victims of Avalon’s gross mismanagement and we intend to hold the Avalon entities legally accountable.”

Avalon spokeswoman Allison Griffiths said she couldn’t comment on individual cases due to privacy laws, but that “we mourn every life that has been lost to this historic pandemic as our heroic health-care workers continue to fight to save lives.”

“The health and safety of our residents is always our top priority,” she said.

I take it to mean I must get my affairs in order, the things I have put aside because you always think you will have time, the mess part I believe refers to any incomplete transactions, unspoken words to others etc. And the THEN means that is when the real action will begin.
