August Employment Report

The headline jobs number in the August employment report was above expectations, however employment for the previous two months was revised down by 107,000, combined. The participation rate increased, pushing up the unemployment rate to 3.7%. And the employment-population ratio increased slightly.

Leisure and hospitality gained 31 thousand jobs in August. At the beginning of the pandemic, in March and April of 2020, leisure and hospitality lost 8.20 million jobs, and are now down 1.12 million jobs since February 2020. So, leisure and hospitality has now added back about 85% all of the jobs lost in March and April 2020. (that is becasue the 10y rolling average model that they use say this so none of this is empirical-and the revisions down tells you that)' Construction employment increased 16 thousand and is now 84 thousand above the pre-pandemic level. Manufacturing added 22 thousand jobs and is now 67 thousand above the pre-pandemic level. In August, the year-over-year employment change was 5.84 million jobs. Since the overall participation rate has declined due to cyclical (recession) and demographic (aging population, younger people staying in school) reasons, here is the employment-population ratio for the key working age group: 25 to 54 years old.

The 25 to 54 participation rate increased in August to 82.8% from 82.4% in July, and the 25 to 54 employment population ratio increased to 80.3% from 780.0% the previous month. Both are close to the pre-pandemic levels and indicate almost all of the prime age workers have returned to the labor force.

From the BLS report: "The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons was little changed at 4.1 million in August. These individuals, who would have preferred full-time employment, were working part time because their hours had been reduced or they were unable to find full- time jobs." (this is moar fun with #s as you'll see below they simply vanish from being counted after UE benefits expire thus falling into the U-6 category) This graph shows the number of workers unemployed for 27 weeks or more.

According to the BLS, there are 1.137 million workers who have been unemployed for more than 26 weeks and still want a job, up from 1.067 million the previous month. This is back to pre-pandemic levels. (of course it is and I bet Kangzz Bostic will be revising his to many adjustments GDPNOW forecast upwards again)

Summary:

White House to Seek $11.7 Billion in Additional Ukraine Aid

The White House will ask Congress to provide additional aid for Ukraine in the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1, as officials warn that earlier monies are running out with the effort to combat Russia’s invasion now past its six-month mark.

The administration is seeking $11.7 billion in security and economic assistance for Ukraine in the first quarter of fiscal 2023, a senior administration official said Friday, along with $2 billion aimed at helping to prevent domestic energy costs from going up as Russian President Vladimir Putin squeezes supplies.

The administration also detailed its other spending priorities for the coming fiscal year, including additional funding to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The White House will request $22.4 billion for testing, to speed up the research and development of next generation vaccines, and to prepare for future variants. The request comes as the US plans a September Covid booster push with shots that are reformulated to deal with omicron variants.

Officials also are also seeking $4.5 billion to fight the monkeypox outbreak. The Ukraine-related funds are urgently needed, the official told reporters Friday in a call detailing the Office of Management and Budget’s priorities. President Joe Biden in May signed legislation in May providing $40 billion in aid to Ukraine. But those funds were only intended to last through September.

“To date, roughly three-quarters of the direct military and budgetary support that Congress previously provided for Ukraine has been disbursed or committed, with even more expected by the end of the fiscal year,” OMB said in a release.

The funding request for the first quarter of fiscal year 2023 will seek $7.2 billion for the Defense Department. Of those funds, $4.5 billion will be for equipment for Ukraine and to replenish the Pentagon’s stocks, with $2.7 billion for other military, intelligence, and defense support.

The White House is seeking $4.5 billion for the State Department and USAID to continue support for Ukraine’s government.

The $2 billion energy-related request includes $1.5 billion to for uranium to fuel US nuclear reactors with the aim of offsetting any decrease in Russian energy supplies, and $500 million to modernize the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, according to the OMB.

Remember the participants are getting FULL value (PAR) for something that..in the largest amount for today of $6.885B the 10 year Note was auctioned off just on August 15th and the second largest amount of the day was the 3 year Note $4.769B and same date of issue-so what you have is a total of 26% ($11.654B) of that entire amount lent(i.e. created out of thin-air)for just one day and applied to the 3 and 10 year note(s).

Executive Summary

We’ve always assumed the vaccine kills you quickly (in the first two weeks) because that’s when people notice the association and report it to VAERS. This is still true; it does kill some people quickly.

However, thanks to an HHS whistleblower, we can now clearly see that most of the deaths from the vaccine are happening an average of 5 months from the last dose. That is for the second dose; it may be getting shorter the more shots you get but there are arguments both ways (since there can be survivor bias).

But this explains why the life insurance companies got off-the-charts all-cause mortality peaks for people under 60 in Q3 and Q4 rather than right after the shots rolled out.

The five month delay is also consistent with death reports where people are developing new aggressive cancers that are killing them over a 4 to 6 month period.

The 5 month death delay was also confirmed using only European data. That analysis was posted Aug 11, but I learned about it after I wrote this post.

So when you hear of a death from stroke, cardiac arrest, heart attack, cancer, and suicide that is happening around 5 months after vaccination, it could very well be a vaccine-related death.

I got this chart from a whistleblower who works for HHS. This is data you are not supposed to see. The mortality increase (60% at peak) is huge. That sort of increase can only be caused by something novel that affected massive numbers of people.

There is only one possibility that fits that: the COVID vaccine.

The peak is September 9, 2021.

This graph, which is not publicly available, is from the US Social Security death master file. It compares deaths from 2021 to deaths in 2020. You simply cannot get such a rise in deaths like that unless something very deadly is affecting massive numbers of people. This explains why insurance companies all over the world were seeing massive death spikes in Q3 and Q4 of 2021. The vaccine was simply taking an average of 5 months from the most recent injection to kill people. The peak here is September 9, 2021.

Tupelo, Mississippi pilot threatening to crash plane into Walmart, police say

Mississippi police are in contact with pilot

A pilot flying a small plane over Tupelo, Mississippi has threatened to crash into a Walmart, authorities warned Saturday.

The Tupelo Police Department said it was notified around 5 am this morning that a pilot flying what a "King Air type" airplane was considering the crash landing into a Walmart located on West Main street.

Authorities have confirmed the plane, which is believed to have been stolen, is a fixed wing multi-engine 1987 Beech C90A model. 

Authorities said they have evacuated the Walmart and a Dodges eatery and gas station located near the shopping center to disperse people "as much as practical."

Roads in west Tupelo and near the airport have been reopened and the pilot was last reported to be flying near a rural area in Hickory Flat, an area northeast of Tupelo, according to local coverage of the flight path.

Authorities have reportedly convened in the area. 

The police department said they are in contact with the pilot who is an employee of the Tupelo Regional Airport.

Gov. Tate Reeves took to Twitter to spread the warning first issued by the Tupelo Police department and said, "State law enforcement and emergency managers are closely tracking this dangerous situation."

"All citizens should be on alert and aware of updates from the Tupelo Police Department," he added. 

It remains unclear what is behind the pilot’s motive.

Citigroup Joins Industry Effort to Lend to People Without Credit Scores

Citigroup Inc. is joining a government-sponsored effort to expand access to credit in underserved communities.

The bank is launching two pilot programs early next year under the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s Project REACh, or Roundtable for Economic Access and Change. One program will issue credit cards to people without credit scores, while the other will make it easier for small businesses owned by minorities, women and veterans to get credit.

Banks including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Wells Fargo & Co. and U.S. Bancorp are already working with Project REACh, sharing bank-account data to help approve a wider swath of borrowers for credit cards. Some 50 million Americans lack traditional credit scores, which banks typically require when reviewing applications for all manner of consumer debt.

Citigroup is adding its account data to the mix. Researchers have found that information on an applicant’s income and spending habits are as good a measure of creditworthiness as credit scores, bankers said. “We’ve been looking for how can we lower barriers for entrance into financial services,” said Gonzalo Luchetti, the head of Citigroup’s U.S. consumer-banking operations.(translated- we need the depositor base of the unbanked segment of society-DESPERATELY so we're gonna tart it all up and call it outreach or some shit like that because we actually went broke for the 3rd time in 2008)Project REACh is part of a broader push in the banking industry to find ways to lend to a broader set of customers. Still, bankers say loans issued through Project REACh, though small in number, are performing as well as those issued outside the program. They expect the volume to increase in the coming year.

“We’ve done a lot of push-ups to advance this effort,” said Mark Brucker, the chief risk officer in JPMorgan’s consumer bank. “You’re seeing other banks see the benefit of those push-ups and want to get involved.”

Citigroup is also launching a pilot program in 20 branches in Los Angeles to funnel more loans to small businesses owned by women, minorities and veterans.To do so, the bank will lower its threshold for acceptable credit scores and tinker with other underwriting standards.

IRS ‘Inadvertently’ Publishes 120,000 Taxpayers’ Confidential Info on Its Website

The Internal Revenue Service on Friday acknowledged it mistakenly published confidential information about 120,000 taxpayers on its website.

The compromised data — including names, contact information, and financial information about IRA income — came from Form 990-T, according to the Wall Street Journal. The form is a tax-return document that is required for people with individual retirement accounts who earn certain types of business income within those retirement plans, such as IRAs invested in master limited partnerships, real estate, or other assets that generate income.

The exposed data did not include Social Security numbers, full individual income information, detailed financial account data, or other information that could impact a taxpayer’s credit.

The IRS plans to contact all of the individuals who were affected.

“The IRS took immediate steps to address this issue,” the agency said in a statement to Fox Business. “The files have been removed from IRS.gov and will be replaced with updated files in the near future. In addition, the IRS also will be working with groups that routinely use the files to remove the erroneous files and replace them with the correct versions as they become available.”

The information was uploaded due to a human coding error that occurred last year when the form began to be electronically filed, officials said. While the forms for individuals are supposed to be confidential, charities with “unrelated business income” are also required to file Form 990-T, and those are intended to be public. ...

he B-52 Stratofortress—the United States’ oldest active service airplane—is practicing for a new kind of mission. Instead of bombs, the enormous strategic bomber will be dropping military cargo.

The exercise, part of what the U.S. Air Force calls Agile Combat Employment, is a decentralized system of delivering cargo to various locations throughout a combat theater. In a statement, Barksdale Air Force Base, the location of the recent B-52 exercise, explained that “ACE exercises practice distributed operations from dispersed locations to increase survivability while generating combat power.” It added that “this defensive posture increases the scope and scale of friendly force locations, boosts deterrence to adversary aggression and assures allies by presenting a credible combat force.” This decentralized basing and resupply concept has taken on new importance in recent months. American-supplied HIMARS, an acronym for High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, has been employed by Ukrainian forces to devastating effect against ammunition dumps deep behind Russian lines.
