Civil war has broken out at the BBC today as one of the executives fired over the doctoring of a Donald Trump speech insisted the corporation remains the 'world's most trusted news provider'.

Deborah Turness, who quit as CEO of BBC News yesterday, turned up for work at Broadcasting House in London this morning and said that the corporation is not 'corrupt' as the President claims.

But less than an hour later chairman of the BBC board, Samir Shah, said the corporation would like to 'apologise for that error of judgment' over the editing of a speech by Donald Trump.

Mr Shah has admitted he may now say sorry personally to the President as it was revealed he has sent a letter threatening legal action against the BBC over a Panorama documentary released ahead of the 2024 election.

'He's a litigious fellow. So we should be prepared for all outcomes', he said.

Insiders have said some senior BBC News staff are at war with the board. Nick Robinson used the Today Programme to give a monologue where he described the board as being in a state of 'paralysis'.

Sir Keir Starmer has also backed the BBC. His spokesman said the Prime Minister does not believe it is 'institutionally biased'.

But Nigel Farage has said he has spoken to Donald Trump, who is 'absolutely enraged', with the Reform UK leader accusing the 'biased' BBC of 'election interference'.

Director General Tim Davie and Ms Turness resigned yesterday after it emerged Panorama made it seem like Trump told his supporters to go to the Capitol and 'fight like hell' on the day of the 2021 riot.

In a letter released this afternoon Mr Shah revealed there have been more than 500 complaints since the publication of an internal memo that raised concerns about the editing of the speech by Donald Trump, adding: 'We accept that the way the speech was edited did give the impression of a direct call for violent action.'

In an interview with the BBC he added that he didn't know 'yet' if Trump will now sue the BBC, adding he is now considering whether to apologise personally to the President.

He added: 'I did not want to lose Tim Davie nor did any member of the board. We were upset by the decision. My job now is to ensure a smooth transition'.

Hours earlier star presenter Nick Robinson launched into an extraordinary monologue on the Today programme that appeared to play down the impartiality scandal. He also hinted politics were at play at the top of the corporation.

But one household name at the BBC told the Daily Mail today that they are amazed that that Davie and Turness were not fired long ago given the number of scandals on their watch.

'They have both been asleep at wheel', the Daily Mail's source, a well-known TV star who asked to remain anonymous, has said, citing the way the BBC has handled Gaza and trans issues.

'Davie and Turness have failed to get a grip', they added.

They pointed to the woke direction the BBC has taken in recent years including claims it has been 'captured by a minority ideology', especially on its 'one-sided' reporting of transgender issues and Gaza.

The insider has said that Davie and Turness had consistently 'failed' to deal with the issue of impartiality at the BBC, most notably the Gaza documentary featuring the son of a Hamas official.

Ukrainian opposition MPs have launched a bid to replace the government following revelations of a large-scale corruption scheme allegedly tied to a close ally of Vladimir Zelensky.

The call, which came from the European Solidarity party led by former President Pyotr Poroshenko, followed an announcement by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) on Monday that it was investigating the state-owned nuclear power company Energoatom over what it described as a criminal operation to embezzle state funds.

The case has been linked to businessman Timur Mindich, a longtime friend and business partner of Zelensky from his days in the entertainment industry who has since reportedly become a major figure in Ukraine’s energy and defense sectors.

In a statement on Monday evening,European Solidarity said it was initiating a formal procedure to recall the cabinet, arguing that the scandal “undermines the trust of partners and endangers military and financial aid.” The faction previously dubbed the government “kabmindich” – a portmanteau word implying that the cabinet of ministers serves Mindich’s interests.

Separately, opposition MP Yaroslav Zhelezhnyak of the Golos (Voice) party submitted a motion to dismiss Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and her predecessor German Galushchenko, who now serves as justice minister. Both have been linked in the Ukrainian press to Mindich’s network of political influence. Mindich reportedly fled Ukraine just hours before his home was searched by NABU agents.

Zelensky and Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko have expressed support for NABU’s investigation. Earlier this year, however, the Ukrainian leader attempted to curb the agency’s independence before reversing course under Western pressure.

‘Impossible’ to defeat Russia through Ukraine proxy – Moscow

Demands for a ceasefire reflect a growing desperation among Kiev and its backers, according to UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia

The West has begun to realize that defeating Russia by using Ukraine as a tool is “impossible,” Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, has said.

Speaking with RIA Novosti, the diplomat stated thatthe ongoing conflict “isn’t so much with Ukraine as with the West itself,”adding that for the West, Kiev serves merely as “a tool with which they are trying to defeat Russia.”

Moscow has repeatedly described the Ukraine conflict as a de facto NATO proxy war waged against Russia in an effort to weaken its security after years of the bloc’s eastward expansion. In recent years, several of Kiev’s Western backers have also openly called for a “strategic defeat” to be inflicted on Moscow.

According to Nebenzia, however, such rhetoric has become less frequent in Western capitals, which he suggested indicates a growing recognition that defeating Russia is “impossible.”

He went on to claim that calls for a ceasefire by Kiev and its backers reflect their “dire” situation on the battlefield and an increasing manpower shortage. The envoy described the appeals as an attempt to “take a breather,” pump Ukraine full of weapons, and replenish its forces before continuing the conflict “with renewed vigor.”

“A simple ceasefire and a freeze on the line of contact won’t resolve the very reason this conflict began,” Nebenzia said.

Moscow has consistently stated that it remains open to dialogue and prefers to settle the conflict through diplomatic means as soon as possible. However, Russian officials have maintained that any lasting peace must address the underlying security concerns that led to the hostilities and take into account the territorial realities on the ground.

Russia has accused Kiev of attempting to provoke an international incident in NATO airspace

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has said it foiled an elaborate Ukrainian-British plot to steal a MiG-31 fighter jet armed with a Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missile.

According to the FSB, although Ukrainian agents unsuccessfully tried to persuade the pilots to defect,their actual goal was for the aircraft to be shot down in Romanian airspace, provoking an international incident with NATO. The agency said the operation was organized by Ukraine’s military intelligence service (HUR) in coordination with the UK’s MI6.

A MiG-31 pilot said he was contacted last year by a man introducing himself as Sergey Lugovsky, a researcher for theopen-source investigative group Bellingcat, which has received funding from several Western governments. The pilot said Lugovsky initially sought consultations, later offering money for defection.

After the pilot declined, a Ukrainian agent using the name Aleksandr approached the aircraft’s navigator, offering $3 million and a foreign passport in exchange for directing the plane to fly over an air base near Constanta, Romania.

Kiev has previously offered money and assistance to defectors. In 2023, Russian Mi-8 pilot Maksim Kuzminov defected to Ukraine, landing his helicopter behind the front lines with the HUR’s help. Two of the other crew members, unaware of his plan, were killed upon landing. Kuzminov was assassinated a year later in Spain, where he was living under a new identity and with a Ukrainian passport.

In 2022, the FSB accused former Bellingcat investigator Christo Grozev, a Bulgarian-born journalist, of taking part in a failed Ukrainian attempt to recruit Russian military pilots. Grozev said he was embedded with Ukrainian intelligence officers as a documentary filmmaker and claimed that his text messages were forged.

Sun unleashes strongest solar flare of 2025, sparking radio blackouts across Africa and Europe

The sun erupted in spectacular fashion this morning (Nov. 11), unleashing a major X5.1-class solar flare, the strongest of 2025 so far and the most intense since October 2024.

The eruption peaked at 5 a.m. EST (1000 GMT) from sunspot AR4274, which has been bursting with activity in recent days.

The blast triggered strong (R3-level) radio blackouts across Africa and Europe, disrupting high-frequency radio communications on the sunlit side of Earth.

This outburst is the latest in a series of intense flares from AR4274, which also produced an X1.7 flare on Nov. 9 and an X1.2 on Nov. 10.

Those flares were accompanied by coronal mass ejections (CMEs) that could combine and impact Earth overnight tonight, possibly triggering strong (G3) geomagnetic storm conditions and widespread auroras, according to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.

While analysis of today's eruption is ongoing, scientists are monitoring coronagraph data to determine whether the X5.1 launched a CME directly toward Earth.

With AR4274 in an Earth-facing position, any associated outburst is likely to be heading for us.

Solar flares are ranked by strength in five classes, A, B, C, M and X, with each step representing a tenfold increase in energy output.

X-class solar flares are the most powerful kind and the number following the X describes the flare's intensity. At X5.1, this latest eruption sits toward the top of the scale.

The eruption sent a surge of X-rays and extreme ultraviolet radiation toward Earth, ionizing the upper atmosphere and causing widespread radio signal degradation. Strong (R3) radio blackouts were recorded over Africa and Europe.

This active region has become one of the most prolific solar flare producers of Solar Cycle 25, marking a fiery peak in what's already been an extraordinary week for solar activity.

This is a developing story and will be updated later today as more data on the flare and associated CME becomes available.

Lets be honest. We are born for a short time on a rock we call Earth, a tiny relic from the formation of a nearby star we call the Sun, which formed in the last third of cosmic history.

Most of the 100 billion stars in our Milky-Way galaxy formed billions of years before the Sun. Our record is not very impressive in the cosmic scheme of things.

There is a vast amount of space and time that we have never explored. We can learn new things as long as we maintain humility and an open mind.

The main threat to new knowledge is the arrogance of expertise. When I was asked yesterday by eight podcasters and reporters (including Gadi Schwartz on NBC News here and Elizabeth Vargas on NewsNation here), why comet experts are so dismissive of an alternative interpretation of the puzzling anomalies of the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, I made an analogy between unimaginative scientists and artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Both are saying things that reflect their training data sets.

If you were to train AI systems only on data regarding comets, they would argue that any object in the sky is a comet — irrespective of the anomalies it displays.

This is why 1I/`Oumuamua is regarded by comet experts as a `dark comet’, namely a comet that does not display the characteristics of a comet: it exhibited non-gravitational acceleration without any trace of gas or dust around it.

The fact that space objects like 2020 SO which was launched by NASA or the Tesla Roadster Car which was launched by SpaceX, behave like dark comets because they are technological in origin, is irrelevant because comet experts refuse to include these examples in their training data set.

On top of that, we must add the Pavlovian resistance of experts to new ideas, as a means of protecting their turf of past knowledge.

These two elements explain the violent insistence of comet experts that the seven jets observed around 3I/ATLAS in recent days (as reviewed here) must have originated from sublimation of pockets of icy volatiles on a rock rather than thrusters on a spacecraft.

7 Jets Found on 3I/ATLAS — New Images

New telescope observations between November 5th and November 9th have captured unprecedented images of the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, revealing a complex multi-jet structure that has scientists questioning whether this is a natural comet or something else entirely.

According to reports shared by Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, astronomers Frank Niebling and Michael Buchner captured what may be the most detailed ground-based image yet using two telescopes and stacked five three-minute exposures.

The images show at least seven distinct jets emanating from 3I/ATLAS in multiple directions, with some pointing toward the sun as anti-tails and others spreading in various directions, creating a network rather than the single tail expected from a normal comet.

The behavior of 3I/ATLAS continues to challenge conventional understanding. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory confirmed the object showed non-gravitational acceleration, meaning it sped up beyond what gravity alone could cause.

In reference to this finding, Avi Loeb calculated in his recent analysis that 3I/ATLAS should have lost more than 13 percent of its original mass during its October 29th perihelion passage.

According to Loeb in his Newsmax interview, “the amount of boost to its velocity was equivalent to a jet carrying 5 billion tons of matter that would give it a recoil.”

That kind of mass loss should create a massive visible tail pointing away from the sun, but observers are not seeing it.

Instead, what emerged is this unprecedented seven-jet structure with a glowing halo extending half a million kilometers.

Adding to the mystery are the color changes observed throughout 3I/ATLAS’s journey.

The object appeared red in early observations, shifted to green, and then after passing closest to the sun became bluer than the sun itself, which is backwards from what scientists expect.

On October 24th, the MeerKAT radio telescope in South Africa made the first radio detection of 3I/ATLAS, picking up absorption lines from hydroxyl molecules.

These molecules indicate the object is shedding water-related material, which fits with a natural comet explanation. However, physicist Michio Kaku offered an alternative theory in his News Nation interview, suggesting

3I/ATLAS could be a very old object, perhaps 7 billion years old, that has accumulated unusual chemical composition over time, which would explain why its nickel content is off scale compared to ordinary comets.

The scientific community remains divided on what 3I/ATLAS actually is.

According to Loeb’s published analysis, he calculated the odds of this being a random natural comet from interstellar space at one in 100 million when factoring in its massive size and unusual orbital characteristics.

The James Webb Space Telescope will measure exactly how fast material is shooting out of those jets and what it is made of in the coming weeks.

Natural comets eject material at relatively slow speeds around half a kilometer per second, while rockets and advanced propulsion systems work at much higher speeds.

3I/ATLAS reaches its closest point to Earth on December 19th, about five weeks away, passing within 269 million kilometers.

He has asked his Galileo Project team to analyze data in the coming months, watching for any smaller objects that might have separated from 3I/ATLAS.

The next five weeks represent a unique opportunity to gather definitive data that will either confirm this as an unusual natural visitor or present observations that cannot be explained by conventional comet behavior.

Meanwhile, high-resolution images captured by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on October 2nd using the HiRISE camera remain unreleased.

According to NASA’s communication with Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, these images will be made available once the government shutdown ends and operations resume, though scientists remain eager to see what that clearest view yet of 3I/ATLAS might reveal.

A Turkish military plane has crashed in Georgia after taking off from Azerbaijan with 20 Turkish personnel on board, including the flight crew.

3I/ATLAS exploded into 16 pieces? A recent post-perihelion image of the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS suggests that it might have exploded or broken into pieces.

The mysterious interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, only the third known visitor from beyond our solar system, has stunned astronomers after recent images suggested it may have exploded or broken into more than a dozen fragments.

As the comet-like body made its closest pass to the Sun, or perihelion, it brightened dramatically while shedding gases at an immense rate.

Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, who has been closely tracking the object, said the intense solar heating may have caused a catastrophic breakup.

“Was the dramatic mass loss and brightening of 3I/ATLAS at perihelion evidence that it disintegrated?” Loeb asked. “Breakup into fragments would have increased the surface area of its material.”

How scientists knew 3I/ATLAS might have exploded

New images captured by British astronomers Michael Buechner and Frank Niebling reveal 3I/ATLAS developing a massive “anti-tail” and a long “smoking” trail of jets extending about one million kilometers toward the Sun and nearly three million kilometers in the opposite direction.

“For a natural comet, the outflow velocity of the jets is expected to be [0.248 miles] per second,” Loeb wrote in his latest analysis.

“At that speed, the jets must have persisted over a timescale of 1–3 months.”

However, Loeb’s calculations suggest that the comet would have needed to absorb far more energy from the Sun than its surface area allows, meaning something doesn’t add up if it’s just a normal comet.

“At its perihelion distance, the Sun provided 700 Joules per square meter per second,” Loeb noted. “This means that the absorbing area of 3I/ATLAS must have been larger than [617 square miles],” roughly equivalent to a sphere with a diameter of 14.3 miles, four times larger than earlier estimates.

Why astronomers think 3I/ATLAS exploded

Between August and its closest solar approach, 3I/ATLAS’ mass loss skyrocketed from about 150 kilograms per second to nearly two million kilograms per second, according to Loeb.

The only plausible natural explanation, he argues, is that it fragmented into at least 16 pieces. “This would mean that 3I/ATLAS exploded at perihelion and we are witnessing the resulting fireworks,” he wrote.

If that’s not the case, Loeb warns, it could mean 3I/ATLAS isn’t a natural comet at all. He has previously suggested that it may even be a technological object, possibly an ancient or active alien spacecraft.

“Technological thrusters require a much smaller mass loss to produce the observed jets,” he explained. “Alien-tech thrusters might employ yet higher exhaust speeds, reducing the required mass loss by several orders of magnitude and making the required fuel a small of the spacecraft mass.”

When we will know if 3I/ATLAS exploded or not

Astronomers worldwide are now watching closely as 3I/ATLAS moves toward its closest approach to Earth on December 19 and to Jupiter in March 2026.

Upcoming observations by the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes could confirm whether 3I/ATLAS exploded or if it remains a single, intact object defying conventional explanations.

Before and during the Republican National Convention, the major media stoked fears of anarchists descending on New York bent on wreaking havoc.

“Anarchists Hot for Mayhem” was the headline on a Daily News article reporting that “50 of the country’s leading anarchists” each accompanied by “50 followers” would be in town for the convention.

“Finest Prep for Anarchy,” read the headline on a New York Post article that included descriptions of three “high-profile, radical” activists.

ABC’s “Nightline” showed photos of two dozen targeted individuals — perhaps some of the same “50 leading anarchists” mentioned by the Daily News— describing them in the words of police, as “troublesome, even dangerous, anarchists who infiltrate other groups of demonstrators and then try to provoke violence.” Many of these individuals are from New York and at least four can be found at Union Sq. on a regular basis.

While these stories may have sold newspapers and served a purpose by portraying the protesters in a negative light,some of their subjects are now saying they and their political belief have been given a bad name. They readily admit being anarchists, but say they don’t advocate violence. Adding to the mounting legal bill the city may likely face over the handling of R.N.C. protester arrests, some of these individuals are now considering defamation lawsuits against the New York Police Department for encouraging smears of them by feeding the information to the media.

Similar to the Iraqi “death cards” depicting Saddam Hussein and his generals and ministers, the N.Y.P.D. allegedly compiled photos of dozens of individuals for surveillance in connection with the R.N.C. The Police Department did not respond by press time to The Villager’s queries regarding this list and photo dossier.

“Some of the people in these police intelligence photographs obtained by ABC News have been under surveillance for 18 months,” Ted Koppel intoned in a voice over as 24 of the photos were shown on the Aug. 31 segment, “Vote 2004: Protecting the Republican Convention.”

Brad Will, 34,a veteran former East Village squatter and activist now living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, said he was disturbed to hear from friends thathis photo was among those shown on “Nightline.” In addition, he said, a waiter friend of his at an East Village restaurant, reported that while taking an order on Aug. 30 she noticed some detectives at a table flipping through photos, one of which was Will’s.

“She said, ‘Watch out, they’re following you,’ ” Will said. “It made me nervous.

“I’m planning on launching some kind of lawsuit, defamation of character. They put my photo on ‘Nightline,’ ” he said. “I never hurt anyone in my life. There are no cases pending against me. I’m a journalist now, I don’t want my career to be ruined. I don’t want to lose my job — I just started working at a health food store in the East Village.”

Will videotaped the convention protests for Indymedia, doing his best to avoid arrest, though he did get pepper-sprayed during the arrests of 500 to 600 protesters during a “street party” march on 16th St. on Aug. 31.

“The police were targeting people with cameras,” he said. “They got me on the side of my face and shoulder.”

Like others identified as potentially violent anarchists, Will doesn’t deny having been arrested before. He’s been collared about seven times, but like others on the N.Y.P.D.’s “Top 50” R.N.C. protesters list, he said these arrests were for nonviolent civil disobedience, mostly for sitting down in community gardens to block bulldozers, then getting grabbed by police

House Demands Answers Over Goddard Changes

According to a House Science Democrats press release:

“Today, Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) sent a letter to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Acting Administrator Sean Duffy demanding that NASA immediately halt plans to close and move laboratories and mission-critical facilities at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The Ranking Member states NASA must respond within 24 hours and emphasizes the threat these chaotic and veiled moves and closures, partially carried out during a government shutdown, pose for flagship NASA missions.

Committee staff obtained new information late last week that Goddard has told staff additional facilities would need to be emptied by Wednesday, November 12.”

“In recent days, my staff has received disturbing reports that NASA is directing the imminent closure of laboratories and facilities hosting mission-critical capabilities at the Greenbelt, Maryland, campus of the Goddard Space Flight Center,” said Ranking Member Lofgren in the letter.

“These actions put essential hardware and capabilities at great risk.

The laboratories and facilities facing closure support many NASA flight missions, and they include laboratories essential to the completion of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.

The agency’s hastily planned moves and closures – some of which I understand are already well underway – risk causing significant delays for multi-billion-dollar missions under development such as Roman and could heighten the risk of mission failure altogether.”

“NASA must halt any and all laboratory, facility, and building closure and relocation activities at Goddard as well as the relocation, disposal, excessing, or repurposing of any specialized equipment or mission-related capabilities, hardware, and systems, and it must do so now,” continued Ranking Member Lofgren.

“Further, NASA must ensure the continuing operation of the laboratories and facilities needed to sustain the ongoing, excepted work occurring at the Goddard campus, especially work on the Roman Space Telescope.

The agency must respond to this letter, in writing, within 24 hours to confirm that all such activities at Goddard have been put on hold indefinitely.”

“The label has a lot of baggage with it,” he noted. “Anarchism, for the last 150 years they’ve tried to use the term to scare people.”

The New York Post identifiedMiriam “Starhawk” Simos, Fithian and Canadian activist Jaggi Singh as “high-profile members of the radical protest movement” who were meeting before the convention to map out a potentially disruptive strategy.

Starhawk, a West Coast Wiccan, or witch,was more amused than anything at being branded a notorious anarchist.

“We were in New York to train people in civil disobedience, which is a long-standing American tradition,” she said. “We show people how to deescalate when dealing with police or angry townspeople.”

Starhawk was arrested during the R.N.C. for blocking the intersection at Herald Sq. while performing a pagan ritual in which seeds were spread on a blanket as an offering to the spirits of the earth.

“If all they could portray as dangerous people coming to town are me and Jaggi and Lisa, they were searching pretty hard,” Starhawk laughed. “They’ve got a 53-year-old woman who’s been preaching nonviolence for 25 years,and Lisa, a union organizer, and Jaggi, who wasn’t even coming to New York. Truly, if these are the most dangerous anarchists in America, people should feel pretty safe.”

While the protesters claim they never intended to shut down the R.N.C., Starhawk, who wrote a book,“How We Shut Down the W.T.O.,”said Seattle was different.

“It deserved to be shut down,” she said. “We shut it down, nonviolently. There were people breaking windows, but we weren’t doing it. There were probably 50 that broke windows,but there were 60,000 people in the streets that prevented the delegates from getting to the W.T.O.”

Fithian, 43, of Austin, Tex., is a member of RANT, or Root Activist Network of Trainers, a coalition member of U.F.P.J. Fithian trains people in civil disobedience and direct action.

“Much of my practice is based on anarchist ideas and principles,” she said.

A veteran of world economic summit protests, she said, “I’ve probably been to more of them than anybody,” rattling off locations,Seattle, Prague, Genoa, Cancun, Miami, Quebec….”

“It’s basically like slander,” she said of the Post article and “Nightline” segment. “They’re trying to undermine our ability to do our work.”

For her, she said, anarchism is peaceful, summed up by the motto: “Act as you will but harm none.”

There haven’t been many anarchist societies to use as guides, she said, save for the short-lived anarchist government in Spain in the 1930s.

“Anarchism is not well understood — the media portrays it as chaos, violence, out of control. Anarchism is the new war on communism, the new war on drugs.”

Fithian said there is one anarchist faction — really more of a movement or tactic — the Black Bloc, which does engage in property damage, “because they feel money is the only thing these corporations will listen to.” They often will lock arms and wear black masks at protests. However, she said she personally doesn’t advocate breaking windows.

Members of the Black Bloc were accused by police of burning a papier mache dragon while passing Madison Sq. Garden during the big Aug. 29 U.F.P.J. march. But Fithian said it’s the police who represent more of a threat of violence than the anarchists.

China's decision to delay the return of its Shenzhou 20 astronauts from the country's space station due to a possible space debris impact has led to yet another "stranded in space" state of affairs.

The situation is also sparking discussion of space rescue planning — or lack of it.

That trio of Chinese astronauts — Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui and Wang Jie — have been orbiting Earth for more than six months.

Prior to the landing delay, the Shenzhou 20 trio had handed over operation of the Tiangong space station to the newly arrived Shenzhou 21 crew.

They were due to return back to Earth under parachute on Nov. 5., but the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced the landing wave-off the same day, explaining that the crew's spacecraft "is suspected of being struck by small space debris and impact analysis and risk assessment [s] are underway."

The CMSA provided a brief on the status of the crew on Nov. 11, writing that "Following the postponement of the Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft return mission, the project team, adhering to the principles of 'life first, safety first,' immediately activated emergency plans and measures" and that "All work is progressing steadily and orderly according to plan."

However, the statement does not elaborate on what specific issue the Shenzhou 20 encountered or where the problem lies.

Some speculation revolves around a possible launch, if needed, of an uncrewed Shenzhou 22 spacecraft as a replacement vehicle for the damaged spacecraft.

In light of details provided by China's space agency, experts are now left to wonder what the state of the Shenzhou 20 relief efforts might be.

Lack of communications

"I wonder out loud why they would not be more forthcoming about specifics of the event," responds Darren McKnight, an orbital debris specialist and senior technical fellow of LeoLabs, a group dedicated to space domain awareness.

McKnight observes that the Chinese are not usually forthcoming about anything where they would 'lose face,' a very Eastern philosophy.

"However, we are all now citizens of the space environment and lack of communication about events such as this hurts everyone," McKnight told Space.com.

The space debris expert has been trying to tally debris impact events in low Earth orbit for years, especially those that cause mission-degrading or mission-terminating effects. McKnight's on-going work is a way to map the evolution of the space environmental effects.

"These low-level indicators will be precursors for more significant events, events that many people call the Kessler Syndrome," said McKnight. He has been working on what he terms the "four waves" of the Kessler Syndrome as a means to anticipate how quickly the environment is evolving.

In regards to China's Shenzhou spacecraft reentry predicament, "the lack of transparency of these events makes it difficult to model the future," McKnight said.

"By the way, it is not just this case. I know of several mission-degrading events happening with commercial satellites over the last couple of decades," that deserve to be detailed, McKnight said, events that would also help better assess the space debris-riddled environment.

'Shockingly large' amount of sensitive satellite communications are unencrypted and vulnerable to interception, researchers find

Cybersecurity researchers have intercepted vast quantities of private voice calls and text messages, including potentially sensitive communications of government and military officials, transmitted over completely unprotected satellite communication links.

When the researchers decided to put satellite communications under scrutiny, they thought they would find some flaws. What they discovered was much worse than their wildest dreams.

Using a commercial off-the-shelf satellite dish mounted on the roof of a university campus in San Diego, they scanned internet traffic routed via 39 geostationary satellites visible from southern California.

They soon realized that sensitive messages including those involving critical infrastructure and internal corporate and government communications were broadcast via those satellites completely unprotected.

The experiment could be easily replicated by hackers using commercially available equipment, the researchers warn, saying the results were "as bad as one could hope."

"A shockingly large amount of sensitive traffic is being broadcast unencrypted, including critical infrastructure, internal corporate and government communications, private citizens' voice calls and SMS, and consumer Internet traffic from in-flight wifi and mobile networks," the researchers wrote in a statement.

"This data can be passively observed by anyone with a few hundred dollars of consumer-grade hardware."

It turns out that many of these satellites are using outdated equipment, the researchers say.

"Geostationary satellites are a somewhat older technology so our expectation was that they will be using some older, outdated cryptography," Dave Levin, an associate professor in computer science at the University of Maryland who led the research, told Space.com.

"So, we thought we would try to listen and then see whether we could break this cryptography. It turned out we didn't have to because the cryptography wasn't used at all in large part."

Geostationary satellites orbit Earth at a distance of 22,000 miles (36,000 kilometers). At this distance, the orbital velocity of a satellite matches the speed of Earth's rotation.

As a result, the satellite appears suspended above a fixed spot on the equator, having a stable view of a large portion of the globe.

Before the advent of low-Earth-orbit internet-beaming megaconstellations such as SpaceX's Starlink, geostationary satellites were the dominant solution for satellite communications. They are still widely used today, including for military purposes.

The satellites scrutinized in the new study make up only about 15 percent of the world's entire geostationary fleet, Wenyi "Morty" Zhang, a PhD researcher at the University of California, San Diego, and co-author of the study, told Space.com.

He thinks the scope of the problem is likely much worse.

You may not be able to grow bigger muscles out of thin air, but you can 3D print them in microgravity, scientists at ETH Zurich have now established.

"3D printing" refers to a type of manufacturing that builds physical objects layer by layer. Different types of objects have been successfully 3D printed in space, but making functional human tissue from scratch — blood vessels, for example — requires special innovation.

Achieving this, however, is viewed as a transformative step toward a future where organs can be 3D-printed for transplantation into humans who need them. The ability to 3D print human tissue in space also opens up the door for future medical research and testing.

You may be wondering, though: Why does the 3D printing of these organs need to happen in space?

Well, One problem with manufacturing body tissue on Earth is that gravity adds stress to the materials being used in the process (aka, bioink), which poses a major challenge to producing muscle fibers exactly as they are in the human body, according to a press release from Zurich's Department of Health Sciences and Technology.

To work toward getting around this issue, researchers used parabolic flights to simulate microgravity conditions, then 3D printed muscle tissue in weightlessness with a biofabrication system they call G-FLight (Gravity-independent Filamented Light).

The latest research is another step toward a reality where it may be possible to manufacture functional human organs for transplantation, which could be a big deal because the current standard of relying on donors and the right blood match has made transplant wait lists tremendously long.

3D printing tissue in microgravity has been a budding field as of late; for instance, some scientists are working to manufacture artificial retinas in space, leveraging the microgravity environment to make better implants and help people regain sight.

Furthermore, other types of vascularized tissue, including liver tissue, have been successfully 3D printed in general. In terms of organ donation, scientists have also grown replacement bladders using bioprinting, and have successfully transplanted a 3D printed windpipe.

On the space and gravity front, the news from Switzerland may also offer hope to astronauts’ muscle-mass problem.

Microgravity is known to wreak havoc on muscle mass, and having the ability to manufacture and test muscle tissue in space may advance space medicine for future travelers aboard the International Space Station and beyond.

For instance, 3D printed artificial hearts are slated to be sent to the orbiting laboratory to test how the environment of space may impact astronauts who may someday embark on long duration space missions.

As CNN notes, this is a devastating setback because the UK controls several territories where it has established intelligence assets.

Not exactly a move a true friend would make.

The UK said it agrees with an assessment made by the UN’s “human rights” chief, Volker Türk, that these defensive strikes by America violate international law.

Of course, this is nonsense because these cartel boats are engaging in an act of war against America, as the Trump Administration notes.

The British Embassy and the Pentagon both declined to comment to CNN.

Indian authorities are focusing on a terrorist motive as potentially being behind the blast that claimed the lives of at least 12 people in Delhi on Monday, sources have told RT.

The rush-hour explosion occurred in a car near a metro station in the vicinity of the Red Fort, a 17th-century monument popular with tourists.

Home Minister Amit Shah said investigators were looking at “all angles.”

Local media have reported that police have filed a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, a law usually invoked to probe cases linked to terror attacks.

Recently, reports have emerged about a series of arrests and seizures linked to terror plots that have been foiled by Indian security agencies.

On Monday, two people were arrested and 2,900kg of material used to make Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and bomb-making components were seized in Faridabad, which is part of the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) stated on Sunday that it had arrested three terrorists allegedly linked with Islamic State from Ahmedabad, IANS reported.

The ATS of the western state of Rajasthan said on November 7 it had arrested a cleric with alleged links to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, a terror outfit.

In April, a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 people escalated to clashes between India and Pakistan. New Delhi said at the time that any future terror attack in India would be considered an act of war.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Bhutan for an official visit, said on Tuesday that he was in touch with agencies investigating the blast in Delhi.

“Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy,” he said. “Those responsible will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.”

Pakistani Taliban claims deadly Islamabad suicide attack

The Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on Tuesday. The attack left at least 12 people dead and 27 injured, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said.

The incident occurred outside a court building in the G-11 sector of the city. Naqvi said the attacker had planned to enter the court building, but blew himself up near a police van outside the complex after he was unable to gain access.

An investigation has been launched to determine the identity of the attacker.

The Pakistani Taliban (TTP), a jihadist terrorist organization operating primarily along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, has since claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying it was targeting “judges, lawyers, and officials who carried out rulings under Pakistan’s un-Islamic laws,” according to Al Arabiya.

The TTP vowed more attacks until Islamic law is fully implemented in the country.

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the attack and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, vowing that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

He also linked the attack to a separate incident in the city of Wana on Monday where a suicide bomber attempted to blow himself up inside a school. Sharif claimed that while both attacks originated from Afghanistan, they were instigated by India.

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also linked the blast to Afghanistan. In a post on X, he said the “suicide attack” on the Islamabad District Court is a “wake-up call” that the conflict in the Afghan-Pakistan border region of Bаlochistan is “a war for all of Pakistan.”

“The rulers of Kabul can stop terrorism in Pakistan, but bringing this war all the way to Islamabad is a message from Kabul, to which – praise be to God – Pakistan has the full strength to respond,” he said.

Former Trump and GOP Attorney Christina Bobb dropped a bomb on Monday related to the criminal acts against her that were allegedly paid for by outsiders, possibly associated with the Obama and Biden Administrations and Hillary Clinton.

Through an inadvertent disclosure in the discovery she was receiving, Bobb uncovered that Arizona’s Attorney General Kris Mayes’ campaign received $200,000 from a group with a different name that happens to share the same address, president, executive director, and leadership team as the Elias and Eisen group. The money came after the election, implying that Mayes may have been paid to prosecute Trump supporters.

Norm Eisen was Obama’s “Ethics Czar” and Marc Elias was Hillary’s CFO in her failed campaign for President.

Bobb states in her Whistleblower Memorandum the following:

Current Status of Criminal Case: The indictment has been remanded and the court ruled that the prosecutors substantially infringed on my (and my co-defendants’) constitutional rights. The prosecutors have not reconstituted the grand jury but are appealing the ruling. The court also made a prima facia finding that the case was brought for political reasons. The government is appealing that finding as well. The court’s rulings confirms that this case was brought for motivations other than criminal justice.

BLUF: There appears to be organized bribery in the state of Arizona, and likely extending to other states. In the course of my criminal prosecution, the State of Arizona inadvertently disclosed information to the defense, which they have since acknowledged as authentic. Upon closer inspection, the Arizona Attorney General received $200,000 (what appears to be) in exchange for the Democratic Attorney General’s Association to have prosecutorial influence – through one of their initiatives “States United Democracy Center” – in prosecuting their political opponents. To be clear, the Democratic Attorney General’s Association paid Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes $200,000, and she gave States United prosecution power to prosecute Trump attorneys, allies, and electors. Prosecutors claim on the record and in emails that States United represents their office.

Bobb ties this all together in her Memorandum.

States United is a liberal non-profit organization with whom the Arizona Attorney General’s Office claims an attorney-client relationship in this criminal matter. States United initiated the strategy for this prosecution and the Attorney General’s Office continues to use their work product, most recently to request a search warrant, which is still pending.

States United claims on their website that they are “an initiative of the Progressive State Leadership Committee” (“PSLC”). PSLC has the exact same address, president, executive director, and nearly identical leadership team as the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA), which is a committee of the Democratic Party. Additionally, DAGA pays the salaries of the PSLC employees, according to their most recently available Tax Form 990. PSLC and DAGA are the same people, sitting in the same building in Washington DC, getting paid from the same bank account.

Spy Agencies Cozied Up To Wuhan Virologist Before Lying About Pandemic

A close collaborator of virologists who studied coronaviruses in Wuhan frequently advised America’s top spy agency in the lead-up to the pandemic, and that same agency suppressed intelligence on the parallels between COVID-19 and their research.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) hub for foreign biological threats dismissed the intelligence pointing to a lab accident in Wuhan as “misinformation” in January 2021, two former government sources who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive internal meetings told the Daily Caller News Foundation. New documents show that intelligence risked implicating ODNI’s own bioengineering advisor — University of North Carolina professor Ralph Baric.

Baric, who engineered novel coronaviruses with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), advised ODNI four times a year on biological threats, according to documents released Oct. 30 by Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

Baric did not respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.

The professor’s ties to American intelligence may run even deeper, the documents reveal, as ODNI facilitated a meeting between the CIA and Baric about a project on coronaviruses in September 2015.

The email exchange with the subject line “Request for Your Expertise” shows an unnamed government official with a CIA-affiliated email address pitching a “possible project” to Baric relating to “[c]oronavirus evolution and possible natural human adaptation.”

The new documents shed a bit of light on a question members of Congress have posed for years: Whether our own intelligence agencies knew more about the likelihood of a lab origin of COVID than they told the public.

“Director Ratcliffe has been on the forefront of this issue since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and has been committed to transparency and accountability on this issue,” a CIA spokesperson said in a statement. “In January – as one of the Director’s first actions at Langley – CIA made public its assessment that a research-related origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely than a natural origin. CIA will continue to evaluate any available credible new intelligence reporting as appropriate.”

Paul is seeking more documents from ODNI on potential ties between U.S. intelligence and the research in Wuhan as part of an ongoing investigation by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and has promised public hearings in the coming months.

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard disbanded the ODNI biological threats office earlier this year following questions from the DCNF about its suppression of COVID origins intelligence in August. Gabbard and a dedicated working group have also been quietly investigating the origins of COVID.

Settlers launch major arson attack against Palestinians in central West Bank — reports

The IDF says it detained several Israeli settlers who participated in an attack on Palestinians in two West Bank villages close to Nablus a short while ago.

Troops were dispatched to Bayt Lid and Dayr Sharaf following reports of dozens of masked Israelis attacking Palestinians in the villages and setting fire to property, the army says.

Israeli authorities say that four Palestinians were injured in the attack and that 10 vehicles, a barn, a plastics factory and a large warehouse were set on fire in the attack.

“Security forces worked to disperse the [suspects] using riot dispersal means, and detained and arrested several Israeli civilians,” the IDF says, adding that the suspects were handed over to the police.

The IDF says that a short while later, dozens of Israelis gathered at the nearby Baron Industrial Zone, where many of the masked Israeli assailants had fled to.

“IDF troops rushed to the scene, where Israeli civilians attacked the troops and vandalized a military vehicle,” the military says.

The army says that it “strongly condemns all forms of violence that divert the attention of commanders and soldiers from their missions of defense and counterterrorism.”

Palestinian media reports that Israeli troops prevented Palestinians from being able to reach some of the fires sparked by settlers in the attack.

Arrests in such incidents of settler violence are rare and convictions are even less common.

The Israel Police later says that four Israeli suspects have been taken for questioning. The investigation into the settler attack is being led by the police’s West Bank district, alongside the Shin Bet security agency.

Overnight on 11 November 2025, a Russian drone strike targeting Ukraine’s Danube ports led to debris falling near the Romanian village of Grindu, while Romanian fighter jets were unable to launch due to bad weather, according to Romania’s Ministry of National Defense. Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu confirmed the drone debris landed in an inhabited area on Romanian soil. The drone crash occurred amid the Russian strikes on Ukrainian Danube port areas.

Russian drones have increasingly violated Romanian airspace in recent months, as Moscow continues targeting Ukrainian Danube River ports situated just across the border.

Officials have reported earlier that debris recovered from past incidents matches drone types commonly used by the Russian military.

Romanian radars detect drones as air defenses activate

Romania’s Defense Ministry reported that in the early hours of 11 November, radar systems tracked groups of drones in the area adjacent to Romanian airspace.

At 12:07 a.m., authorities issued a national emergency alert system's warning to residents in the northern part of Tulcea County. A large number of explosions were recorded on the Ukrainian side of the Danube, near the port of Izmail.

Despite the alert and detection, Romania’s fighter jets remained grounded. The ministry explained that weather conditions in the southeast of the country made takeoff impossible. Air defense systems were nonetheless activated preventively.

At 1:09 a.m., authorities received a report about a drone impact near Grindu, roughly five kilometers south of the Romanian-Ukrainian border. Romanian military teams were dispatched to the site and reported finding possible drone fragments.

The zone was secured and investigation began at daybreak.

Drone debris falls in inhabited area — Romania vows response

Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu confirmed that the drone fragments landed “in an inhabited area on Romanian territory.” She called the incident “another reckless attack on Ukraine with consequences on Romanian soil.”

"These actions are part of a series of similar incidents and represent a clear pattern in Russia’s war of aggression," she wrote on X.

According to her, these attacks are part of “systematic Russian provocations against the EU and NATO.”

“We will not hesitate to increase the price Russia pays for such reckless and illegal actions,” Toiu wrote, noting that Romania, the EU, and the US are preparing further sanctions on Russia to raise the cost of aggression.

Russia targeted Odesa Oblast power grid last night

Earlier today, Odesa Oblast authorities reported a Russian drone assault on the southern part of the oblast, targeting energy and railway infrastructure.

Ukraine’s Air Force later confirmed that Russian forces had launched a total of 119 long-range drones overnight, “the main focus of the strike was on frontline areas in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk oblasts; and Odesa Oblast.”

During the night, Ukrainian forces tracked drone groups moving toward the Izmail district, and then toward Reni in this district, located directly across the Danube River from Romania’s Tulcea County.

Germany records over 1,000 unidentified drone incidents

Germany has logged more than 1,000 incidents involving unidentified drones since the start of 2025, according to The Wall Street Journal, marking a sharp rise in unauthorized unmanned aerial activity across the country.

The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) confirmed that the number of such cases had reached a “small four-digit figure,” averaging about three incidents per day.

Officials said reports of drone sightings are now being filed every two weeks instead of quarterly, as authorities step up efforts to counter potential espionage threats, News.Az reports, citing foreign media.

Looks like the aliens might be back to mess with Belgium again. And this time, apparently, they’re Russian. “E.T. call Motherland.”

Perhaps this is the extraterrestrials’ version of Netflix. They sit around on the couch going, “When does the next season of that show with those bumbling goofs in Europe trying to chase us come out?”

Maybe 35 years on Earth is like a month in alien time, because the sequel to the Belgian UFO Wave of 1989/1990 appears to have just kicked off.

But this time, it’s not a comedy or a mystery, but a drama. Well, for those in charge it is. For some of us, it’s just the usual Eurobozo burlesque with a different backdrop.

EU leaders have had it in their heads for a while now that if a mysterious object is hovering over Europe, it’s probably Putin. Or someone from his advance team. They’re expecting him in Western Europe by 2030, don’t you know.

Mark your calendars. And this is why they need Europeans to loosen their fists and release whatever remaining cash they’ve neglected to remove from your possession. Because they need to buy weapons to shoot him down before he lands on a Starbucks patio.

If Belgian officials can be believed, that landing is virtually imminent now. Because Putin has chosen their country to wage “hybrid warfare,” they say. With drones. And they’re shutting down airports because of it.

Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken says that they could be spy drones trying to peep on American nuclear weapons at Belgium’s Kleine Brogel Air Base, talking like they’ve just walked in on America showering.

That would explain why they loiter around airports too, I guess, because nothing screams “covert intelligence operation” quite like getting caught hovering over the airport and blocking European air traffic.

A meeting of the country’s National Security Council was urgently convened this week, according to Le Monde, and aimed to “present an outline of a plan to reassure the public, which is becoming increasingly aware of the country’s lack of preparation for this kind of threat.”

Pretty sure the Belgian public already knew that you guys were a hot mess 35 years ago. They spent months staring at UFOs in Belgian skies, and when you sent up a couple of F-16s to get a closer look and shoot them down with your ‘advanced radar’ systems, one of your jets just ended up locking on to shoot the other one.

Still, the Belgian government at the time didn’t go so far as to argue that this potentially disastrous act of self-owning was proof that the aliens were messing with the radar.

Maybe because they would have sounded stupid. Instead, in the absence of definitive and scientifically credible answers, they let the public enjoy the speculation.

But since everyone in the EU has to be treated like an infant these days, here come the Belgian authorities with their ‘public reassurance’ plan.

US Gets Serious About Drone Threat After ‘Russia’s Pearl Harbor’

The United States recently conducted a counter-drone drill at a nuclear force base after Russia experienced a "Pearl Harbor" moment when its bomber fleet came under attack.

The U.S. Northern Command, which is tasked with homeland defense missions, said a counter-small unmanned aerial system (C-sUAS) team successfully engaged more than 100 targets of interest at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, between October 21 and 27.

The base is the only U.S. Air Force facility that hosts both nuclear-capable bombers and nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles, providing a strategic deterrent.

Why It Matters

The rapid development of drone technology has raised security concerns in recent months about aerial incursions into key military and civilian facilities in the West—including nuclear power plants, airports and a base believed to host U.S. nuclear weapons.

The Russia-Ukraine war has demonstrated the effectiveness of drone warfare. In June, Ukraine carried out a large-scale, coordinated drone assault on Russian air bases that Kyiv said struck over a third of President Vladimir Putin's nuclear-capable bombers.

The unprecedented drone attack, described by Russian military observers as "Russia's Pearl Harbor," a reference to Japan's surprise air raid on the U.S. in December 1941, has highlighted the urgency of fortifying U.S. military airfields overseas and at home.

What To Know

The October exercise marked the first time the 11-person team of operators from the U.S. Northern Command deployed with a C-sUAS flyaway kit, capable of detecting, tracking, identifying and mitigating drone incursions at the country's military facilities.

According to the U.S. Northern Command, the flyaway kit combines sensors and effectors, including Anvil drone interceptors that can operate autonomously to counter potential threats, to provide 360-degree coverage with the support of artificial intelligence.

The exercise evaluated the entire deployment process, from loading the equipment for transport and completing counter-drone missions at the North Dakota base to returning to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where the U.S. Northern Command is headquartered.

Officially released photos show the C-sUAS flyaway kit deployed at Minot Air Force Base while B-52H bombers conducted flight operations, demonstrating the team's ability to quickly support a base during a drone incursion, according to a photo caption.

The counter-drone exercise also addressed what the U.S. Northern Command described as "the complexities of federal statutes and interagency partners," ensuring the base commander was operating under the proper authorities to protect the base from drones.

Under the federal statute, base commanders have the authority to defend against drone incursions, but the Pentagon must coordinate with the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration to obtain the authority to engage the threat.

General Gregory Guillot, the commander of the U.S. Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command, said the drill certified that the team was operational, capable of rapidly deploying and providing drone detection and defeat capabilities.

Settlers launch major West Bank arson attack; IDF, police arrest four suspects

Dozens of Israeli settlers launched a large-scale arson attack on Palestinians in the West Bank on Tuesday, targeting factories and farmland between the major cities of Nablus and Tulkarem.

According to the military, soldiers detained several Israeli settlers who participated in the attack after troops were called to the scene. The suspects were then transferred to the Israel Police, which announced that it had taken four Israeli citizens into custody for questioning.

After the arrests, the IDF said that its troops were attacked by a group of settlers in a nearby industrial zone where suspects had fled to, and that a military vehicle was vandalized.

The arrests marked a rare instance of law enforcement acting against settler violence in the West Bank, which has been occurring on a near-daily basis in recent months with almost complete impunity.

During the attack, settlers set fire to a factory building in an industrial zone and several surrounding agricultural lands near the villages of Bayt Lid and Dayr Sharaf, according to Palestinian media reports.

Footage posted to social media showed several large trucks engulfed in flames, as well as significant damage to a number of nearby buildings.

According to the Palestinian Wafa news agency, dozens of Israeli settlers took part in the attack, with footage showing a large number of masked individuals watching from a distance as smoke expanded across the impacted West Bank hilltops.

As a group of local Bedouins gathered in the area, Wafa added, settlers then began throwing rocks at them, injuring several.

The agency reported that at least two people suffered head wounds during the attack, and were later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to Wafa, a group of IDF soldiers then arrived at the scene and blocked Palestinians from trying to put out the fires.

Asked for comment, the military said it dispatched troops to Bayt Lid and Dayr Sharaf following reports of dozens of masked Israelis attacking Palestinians in the villages and setting fire to property.

Troops then detained several suspects, the IDF added.

According to the military, four Palestinians were injured in the attack, and damage was caused to property.

“Security forces worked to disperse the [suspects] using riot dispersal means, and detained and arrested several Israeli civilians,” the IDF said, adding that the suspects were handed over to the police.

The IDF said that a short while later, dozens of Israelis gathered at the nearby Baron Industrial Zone, where many of the masked Israeli assailants had fled to.

After arriving, the troops were then attacked by the settlers gathered there, the military said, adding that an IDF vehicle was vandalized.

The army said that it “strongly condemns all forms of violence that divert the attention of commanders and soldiers from their missions of defense and counterterrorism.”

The Israel Police later said that four Israeli suspects had been taken in for questioning. The investigation into the settler attack is being led by the police’s West Bank district, alongside the Shin Bet security agency, police added.

Since the beginning of October, the West Bank has seen a sharp increase in settler attacks, coinciding with the annual olive harvest. In that time, settlers, and sometimes soldiers, have carried out near-daily violence against olive pickers, who sometimes include volunteers from Israel and abroad, Jewish and otherwise.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said Friday that it recorded 264 settler attacks that caused casualties, property damage, or both during October.

The attacks come amid soaring levels of settler violence since the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023, which sparked the war in Gaza.

China flies world’s first ship-launched stealth drone with 690 mph top speed

China’s air force on Tuesday released a commemorative microfilm that, for the first time in official footage, showed a stealth drone flying in formation with a J-20 stealth fighter and a J-16D electronic warfare aircraft, a display Beijing’s military commentators said demonstrates growing manned-unmanned teaming capabilities.

The short film, titled “Far-Reaching Dreams,” was posted to mark the 76th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force and traces developments in Chinese aviation through the eyes of an ordinary family, state broadcaster China Central Television said.

In scenes highlighted by state media, a GJ-11 stealth attack drone, shown departing its hangar and joining a J-20 and a J-16D in flight, appeared to act as an autonomous partner to the crewed aircraft.

GJ-11 ‘Sharp Sword’ drone

State outlets identified the drone in the footage as “Xuanlong” and the J-20 by its nickname, “Weilong.”

CCTV described the sequence as the first public display of the PLA Air Force’s manned-unmanned teaming and stated that the imagery likely originated from training exercises.

Chinese military commentators hailed the pairing as a logical match for modern strike operations, where electronic warfare, stealth, and unmanned systems combine to suppress and penetrate enemy air defenses.

“J-16D can conduct jamming and paralyze hostile radar systems, while the J-20 and GJ-11, taking advantage of their stealth capabilities, can break through the hostile defense line and destroy key targets,” Song Zhongping, a military affairs expert quoted by the Global Times, said Tuesday.

“The GJ-11 could act as an extension of the manned aircraft, going deeper into high-risk zones.”

Wang Ya’nan, editor of Aerospace Knowledge magazine, told the Global Times the GJ-11 might fly ahead of manned aircraft to perform armed reconnaissance or operate as a “wingman” to protect crewed jets.

Both commentators suggested the footage reflected a certain maturity in China’s efforts to link drones, fighters, and support aircraft into coordinated packages.

The GJ-11, widely known as the “Sharp Sword” in Western reporting, first attracted attention after it appeared in the 2019 National Day parade.

Chinese and international media accounts describe the flying-wing drone as approximately 10 meters (33 feet) long with a wingspan of nearly 14 meters (46 feet), an internal weapons bay, and designs intended to reduce its radar signature.

The platform has been displayed with visible folding hinges, a feature analysts say would ease storage aboard ships.

Fifth-generation fighters

State reports and foreign coverage have also described a naval variant of the GJ-11, and the drone was included in Beijing’s September parade alongside carrier-capable systems.

The South China Morning Post has reported operational ranges of more than 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) in some configurations, but Chinese authorities have not published formal specifications.

Analysts say the combination of the GJ-11, J-20, and J-16D would enable China to apply layered effects in contested airspace, including electronic warfare and suppression of enemy air defenses from the J-16D, stealthy penetration by the J-20, and expendable or high-endurance strike and surveillance capabilities by unmanned aircraft.

“Manned-unmanned teaming is a priority for major air forces,” said Ian Easton, a Beijing-based analyst not connected to the PLA.

“What matters is not just hardware but command and control, secure data links, and doctrine. Footage is a signal of progress, but it does not prove operational readiness.”

Western observers often view Chinese displays through a dual lens of capability and messaging.

Footage released by state media serves public relations and deterrence aims even as it may reflect genuine technological advances.

The PLA has been investing heavily in autonomous systems, electronic warfare, and stealth platforms as part of broader efforts to modernize its air and naval forces.

The microfilm’s release comes amid wider Chinese moves to integrate drones into operations ranging from surveillance to strike roles, and to develop carrier-borne and ship-launched unmanned platforms.

Beijing’s state media framed Tuesday’s release as a celebration of national progress; outside analysts said it was also a clear demonstration of the direction of China’s aviation development, more integrated, more autonomous, and increasingly focused on manned-unmanned teaming in high-end operations.

The United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has published new guidance for critical infrastructure on selecting and using uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) detection technology.

CISA underlines the importance of establishing detection technology capability requirements by first understanding the threats posed by uncrewed aerial systems and creating a risk assessment.

A further section provides guidance on determining site-appropriate detection technology based on the capabilities and considerations of UAS detection sensors.

This section provides general, nontechnical considerations designed to help prepare organisations for conversations with vendors rather than listing or recommending specific solutions on the market. It also covers the need to consider potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

CISA recommends integrating detection technology into existing security plans to support a layered approach to protecting against UAS threats.

“Establishing clear UAS detection requirements allows for a tailored approach that meets the specific needs of each facility,” the guidance notes.

“Carefully evaluating and selecting the most appropriate detection systems can help ensure comprehensive coverage and effective response capabilities.

Once selected, integrating UAS detection technologies into existing security frameworks can support a defence-in-depth approach against UAS threats.”

Additional advice in the guidance document includes identifying planned and known UAS operations to help deconflict unknown or suspicious UAS activity, integrating UAS detection technology with existing surveillance and access control systems, and consulting with legal counsel to establish appropriate procedures.

The governor of Limburg, Emile Roemer, has joined calls for a permanent memorial to be established at the US cemetery in Margraten to black US soldiers who took part in the liberation of the Netherlands.

Alain Krijnen, the mayor of Eijsden-Margraten, wrote to the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) urging them to reinstate two panels commemorating the achievements of black servicemen.

It emerged at the weekend that the panels had been taken out of an exhibition at the cemetery’s visitor centre earlier this year. The ABMC said they had been rotated out of the exhibition and were still in use, but historians said it appeared to have been prompted by Donald Trump’s anti-diversity policies.

Some 8,000 US soldiers are buried at Margraten after being killed while fighting in the Netherlands or the neighbouring regions during the Second World War. They include 172 African-American servicemen.

The Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank, contacted the ABMC in March challenging its supposed failure to comply with Trump’s orders to cancel diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) programmes across the US government. In another damning example of the Biden regime’s catastrophic border and immigration failures, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles has rearrested a Moldovan fugitive illegal alien convicted in her home country of premeditated murder “with exceptional cruelty.”

According to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement obtained by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, the fugitive, identified as Victoria Sorocean, brutally tortured her victim, beating them with an electrical cable and stick, before throwing the person from a ninth-story window.

Sorocean fled Moldova to avoid serving a 17-year prison sentence and was first captured by ICE during the Trump administration in January 2020.

At the time, Trump’s immigration enforcement was actively pursuing violent fugitives from foreign nations to prevent them from finding refuge in American communities.

However, DHS confirmed that after her 2020 arrest, Sorocean filed a series of legal appeals to delay deportation and, under the Biden administration in 2022, was released back into the U.S. rather than returned to face justice in Moldova.

ICE officers under President Trump’s renewed immigration mandate located and arrested Sorocean once again in Los Angeles. She is now back in federal custody pending deportation.

Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin condemned the prior release in no uncertain terms:

“In 2022, Sorocean was released back into the country under the Biden administration. It shocks the conscience that the Biden Administration released into America a cruel, violent illegal alien who tortured a human being, beat them with an electrical cable and a stick, and then threw her victim from a ninth-floor window.”

McLaughlin continued, emphasizing that under President Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem, the U.S. is reestablishing a zero-tolerance policy toward violent foreign criminals:

In a recent interview, Kamala Harris let out her signature cackle as she claimed she was successfully playing 3D chess against Trump and not letting him run circles around her with his strategy on the campaign trail.

Trump won all seven swing states and the popular vote in his landslide victory over Kamala Harris.

But she cackled away like a madwoman, claiming, “I understood the game that was being played, and I made a decision that I wasn’t gonna get played.” When one of the hosts suggested she was playing “chess, not checkers,” Kamala agreed that it was “three-dimensional chess,” a game that she clearly lost.

Harris made the comments in an interview on the Storehouse & Friends podcast that aired on Monday to discuss her “107 Days” memoir and her failed bid for the White House in 2024.

“I was aware of my opponent’s strategy, and I wasn’t about to fall prey or fall into those traps,” Harris said.

“And part of his strategy, and those around him, was to try and take me off our game and message, and I wasn’t about to be distracted by those little— those flames that he was trying to throw ”

She laughably claimed that her “highest priority” was the economy and Americans’ financial well-being.

A left-leaning senator has drawn a conclusion from the shutdown, which is certain to infuriate many progressives —standing up to President Donald Trump doesn't work.

In an interview on Morning Joe Monday, Sen. Angus King (I-ME) — who caucuses with the Democrats — explained his vote to help end the government shutdown.

“Why did you decide to vote with Republicans to open the government?” Scarborough said.

“Well, Joe, you have to go back to what the strategy was at the beginning of the shutdown,” King said. “There were two goals, both of which I support. One was standing up to Donald Trump. The other was getting some resolution on the ACA premium tax credit issue. The problem was, the shutdown wasn’t accomplishing either goal. And there was practically, well, it was zero likelihood that it was going to. KEK== so true ”

King went on to arguethat a shut-down government only made the executive branch stronger.

“In terms of standing up to Donald Trump, the shutdown actually gave him more power,” King said. “Exhibit A being what he’s done with SNAP and SNAP benefits across the country. Oh, by the way, Joe, you’re gonna love this: Guess who’s getting paid during the shutdown? Not the park rangers or air traffic controllers. The ICE agents. Under special law, under that big awful bill that they passed last summer, the ICE agents are being paid. Nobody else is.

“So standing up to Donald Trump didn’t work. It actually gave him more power.”

Scarborough pressed King on whether last week’s election results in several states — in which Democrats won several key victories by bigger-than-expected margins — should have an impact on the Democrats’ strategy in the shutdown talks.

“But even Donald Trump admitted that the government shutdown is what caused Democrats to win the election in historic fashion last week,” Scarborough said.

“At some point, there’s diminishing returns,” King said. “And as I say, the strategy was ‘let’s bring the Republicans to the table.’ It didn’t happen. It wasn’t going to happen. And in the meantime, if this was just a dispute between politicians in the Senate and whether we had to hang around for the weekend, that would be one thing. But Joe, there is tremendous collateral damage from this. Forty-two million Americans’ SNAP benefits are at risk, and are being lost. People aren’t being paid for the work that they’re doing. I don’t want to land at an airport in the United States with a sleepy air traffic controller because they’re working double shifts. … if the strategy isn’t working, you change tactics. And particularly, you change tactics if your own troops are at risk, and that’s really what’s happening here. There was collateral damage to the American people at the same time the goal wasn’t being achieved.”
