The United States has crossed a critical fiscal "Rubicon" that signals the"end of the empire"and is now setting the stage for a"Bretton Woods 2.0"monetary reset where gold will be officially "written up" to help pay down sovereign debt.

That is the stark forecast from Dr. James Thorne, a Ph.D. in economics and Chief Market Strategist at Wellington Altus Private Wealth.

In a wide-ranging interview with Kitco News on Monday, Thorne argued that the U.S. has reached a point of no return, exemplified by the ongoing 40-day government shutdown and a historic fiscal crisis.

"Interest payments... on the debt in the United States... was greater... [than] the expenditure on the military, and that is typically the Rubicon," Thorne stated. "When you cross, that signifies the end of the empire... We're at this point where the system has to be recalibrated."

According to Thorne, that recalibration will be a deliberate reflation policy to manage the "excessive level of debt... at Napoleonic war levels."

He believes the solution, already being hinted at by policymakers, will be a formal re-pricing of assets - including gold - on the government's balance sheet.

"...why wouldn't they write up the assets? ... Why shouldn't they write up [Gold] the assets and use that to basically pay down the debt?"Thorne asked. "People [are going to] recognize the fact that we are writing Brenton Woods's 2.0... And gold will be a key contributor."

After Epstein was arrested in 2019 (by Trump's FBI), the media started going after Trump's Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta. He was one of the people responsible for Epstein's sweetheart plea deal in 2008.

Trump was asked about Acosta a few days after Epstein's arrest. He said that he didn't know much about the deal but that they would look into it, that he had met Acosta after he became President, and that he hadn't spoken to Epstein in approximately fifteen years.

To show how ridiculous this has become, we have Democrat politicians and MSM stating as fact right now that Trump spent Thanksgiving in 2017 with Epstein. They are lying and they do not care. We have reached a new low right now in politics and in media.

Shortly after, at Trump's behest, Acosta gave an hour long press conference to explain what happened with the plea deal. Acosta said repeatedly that he was very happy that Epstein was behind bars and would be spending the foreseeable future in prison. The media was not satisfied with Acosta's press conference so Trump and Acosta held a joint press conference to announce his resignation.

At no point did Trump appear to be covering up anything with the case. He encouraged reporters to find out who went to the island with Epstein. It's also worth noting that at anytime during the Obama administration Epstein could have been arrested but he was not until Trump became President.

🔥 Trump’s Pardon Trap

Everyone’s reading this letter as a gesture of support for Netanyahu. Trump urging President Herzog to pardon him, calling him a “formidable War-Time Prime Minister.” But what if that’s not the real play?

A pardon sounds merciful on the surface, but legally it implies guilt. Once pardoned, Netanyahu would no longer have an ongoing case and therefore, no procedural immunity. In Israel’s system, that could actually disqualify him from holding office or even strip him of diplomatic protection.

If Trump knows this, and of course he does, then this might not be a gesture of friendship. It could be a trap disguised as support.

A pardon closes the case, but it also removes the shield. Once that happens, Bibi stands as a private citizen, not a sitting prime minister and a private citizen can be expelled, investigated, or even extradited if the winds shift.

Trump’s phrasing is telling: “Now that we have achieved these unprecedented successes… it is time to let Bibi unite Israel by pardoning him.”

That sounds less like protection and more like closure. Remove the political martyrdom card, end the narrative of persecution, and quietly move Israel into a new phase of leadership under the Abraham Accords framework.

In other words, appear to support your ally, while removing the final chess piece that keeps the old guard in place.

Trump has done this before, he often praises those he intends to neutralize, using their own narratives to expose them. It’s the same pattern again and again; mercy on the surface, justice underneath.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth says a task force has been set up to fight “narcoterrorists” in the Western Hemisphere

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has announced a military operation against “narcoterrorists” amid ongoing tensions with Venezuela and strikes on alleged cartel vessels.

“Today, I’m announcing Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR,” Hegseth wrote on X Thursday.

“Led by Joint Task Force Southern Spear and SOUTHCOM, this mission defends our homeland, removes narco-terrorists from our hemisphere, and secures our homeland from the drugs that are killing our people. The Western Hemisphere is America’s neighborhood – and we will protect it,” he wrote.

A 2020 study of 18,400 children found a 250% (2.5-fold) increased risk of developing a chronic health condition in children who receive childhood vaccinations when compared to children who remain unvaccinated.

The study was buried so deep that hardly anyone knew it existed – until it resurfaced at a US Senate hearing in September and became the centre of a debate about vaccine safety.

In September, a study on the impact of childhood vaccination was entered into the record at a hearing of the US Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. The study, which followed the health of 18,400 vaccinated and unvaccinated children, is a damning indictment of childhood vaccination. And it is a study that hardly anyone has seen; they buried it so deep that very few people have found it.

During the hearing, Dr. Jake Scott described the study as flawed, so much so that Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) described it as a study that “no reputable journal would or should ever publish.”

Pentagon Briefs Trump On 'Military Options' Against Venezuela For 'Coming Days'

Probably this wasn't the first time, but there is widespread reporting on Thursday that military options have been formally presented to President Trump by top Pentagon officials for operations against Venezuela, including including strikes on land. Reports say these options are for the "coming days".

Meetings at the White House are being held now that the USS Gerald Ford carrier strike group arrived in Caribbean waters days ago. The largest-ever 'peacetime' American military build-up off Venezuela is currently underway, with some 15,000 US troops total in the region.

"Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine and other senior officials briefed the president on military options for the coming days, the sources said," CBS reports. But it also stresses, "No final decision has been made, however, two of the sources told CBS News."

The development comes amid fresh reports of yet another alleged drug boat strike in the Caribbean Sea, bringing the total number of vessels destroyed to at least 22, which has killed some 80 or more suspected drug smugglers.

The U.S. intelligence community assisted in providing information for potential operations, the sources said. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard did not attend White House discussions because she was returning from an overseas trip. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in Canada at a G7 summit of foreign ministers.

Previously, the Washington-based Center for Strategic & International Studies laid out why an entire carrier group in Caribbean waters represents a "use it or lose it" scenario which is ultra-costly, also in terms of removing it from other parts of the world:

Moving such a major element of U.S. combat power is highly significant because of the strategic trade-off it represents. The Navy has only 11 aircraft carriers. In general, only three are at sea at any one time because of the need for maintenance and training. All the regional commanders want them. U.S. Indo-Pacific Command always wants one—as a supplement to the carrier permanently stationed in Japan to counter the Chinese navy and conduct exercises with regional allies and partners.

Central Command wants one for the Indian Ocean for use against Iran and the Houthis or in the Eastern Mediterranean to provide air defense for Israel. European Command wants one for operations around Europe to deter Russia. By contrast, the Caribbean has been a low-visibility region for decades, with carriers rarely visiting.

Revolutionary Class Self-Defense

Revolutionary Class Self-Defense is a Greek anarchist and "anti-capitalist" group. The group links its actions to broader political and social issues and cites opposition to "capitalist structures," "state repression," and solidarity with Palestine.

Revolutionary Class Self-Defense claimed responsibility for two IED attacks targeting the Greece Ministry of Labor (February 3, 2024) and the Hellenic Train offices (April 11, 2025).
