EU can’t keep providing loans to Kiev – commissioner

The bloc is considering tapping Russian assets due to concerns over the sustainability of Ukrainian debt, according to Valdis Dombrovskis

The EU cannot continue providing loans to Ukraineamid growing concerns over Kiev’s ability to repay them, European Commissioner for Economy Valdis Dombrovskis has warned. He has urged the bloc to keep up the financing by tapping Russian assets, which Moscow has repeatedly said would amount to theft.

Speaking at a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday,Dombrovskis stated that Ukraine was facing a “very sizable funding gap” and additional borrowing would risk undermining its debt sustainability.His name says it all, these people are dumb.

According to Dombrovskis,tapping Russian sovereign reserves, unlike other alternatives under consideration, would allow the EU to continue channeling funds to Kiev without imposing fiscal burdens on member states. He explained that Ukraine would only need to repay the loan if Russia pays reparations in the future, whereas other mechanisms would require significant budgetary contributions from EU governments.

On Thursday, Dombrovskis also announced that the EU had paid out the final €4.1 billion ($4.8 billion) loan to Ukraine under the ERA Loans program which was financed by proceeds from Russia’s frozen assets.

Last week,Financial Times reported that the bloc failed to agree on a €140 billion reparation-loan scheme in October. The European Commission had reportedly warned EU members they would face ballooning deficits and rising debt unless they agreed to use frozen Russian assets as collateral. In a document circulated to EU capitals, the Commission estimated that servicing a collective loan of that size could lead to €5.6 billion in annual interest payments. (The EU are so stupid they will pay Ukraine with Russia’s moneyinstead of cutting off Ukraine as they already lost the war, and Russia is taking wide acreage of Ukraine. Western nations have frozen around $300 billion in Russian sovereign reserves since 2022, with roughly $200 billion held at Belgium’s Euroclear. Despite repeated efforts by the EU to tap these funds, Belgium has continued to block such attempts, including the current reparation-loan proposal, arguing they would expose the country to serious legal and financial risks and would only prolong the conflict.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that seizing its assets would equate to theft and has threatened to retaliate by targeting up to €200 billion in Western assets held in Russia.

William Evans reports on efforts by Australia’s Department of Home Affairs to revive the four-decade dead D-Notice system.

Documents obtained by Declassified Australia show that following the June 2019 Federal Police raids on the ABC and News Corp, the Department of Home Affairs began secret efforts to revive a four-decade dead system to censor the Australian media.

Declassified Australia can reveal that a plan to introduce the “D-Notice,” as the Defence Notice to media is known, is being developed in secret with help from Britain’s Defence media advisory body.

A D-Notice system had operated in Australia until the mid 1980s to prevent journalists voluntarily from publication of identities, techniques and operational details of intelligence and defence operations, particularly by ASIS. It was ignored by many journalists and fell into misuse.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) had raided the offices of the ABC and News Corp journalist Annika Smethurst on June 4 and 5, 2019, in response to their reporting on alleged war crimes and a proposed domestic spying plan.

Following the raids, Mike Pezzullo, then secretary of the Department of Home Affairs — a portfolio that included ASIO and the AFP — texted a close adviser to then Liberal Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Scott Briggs, with plans to censor the media. These texts had been brought to light in a 2023 report in The Age.

Just two weeks after the AFP’s raids on the media, on June 18, 2019, Pezzullo told Briggs that then Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton, “likes a D-Notice type” approach.

White House Task Force, Industry Leaders Coordinate Counter-Drone Efforts Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026

Federal agencies, state and local officials, and industry innovators gathered in Washington D.C. this week to discuss unlawful use of unmanned aircraft systems.

The White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup 2026 co-hosted the “Countering the Threat: CUAS Industry and SLTT Grant Forum” alongside DRONERESPONDERS and the Commercial Drone Alliance, bringing together stakeholders to discuss counter-uncrewed aircraft systems (CUAS) operations and event security.

Their goal? To prepare 11 World Cup host cities to manage airspace security during one of the world’s largest sporting events while building national capacity to detect and respond to drone threats.

The recent budget bill allocated $500 million for CUAS grant funding over two fiscal years, providing communities with resources to combat unlawful drone operations.

In fiscal 2026, the Department of Homeland Security will distribute $250 million to jurisdictions hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026, the Olympics, and other major national events.

The remaining $250 million will be awarded in FY 2027 to all states and territories, emphasizing broader national detection and response capabilities.

“The $500 million in funding from the One Big Beautiful Bill will help ensure that all eleven host cities are fully prepared and connected in their opportunity to protect their stadiums and cities during the tournament and thereafter,” said Andrew Giuliani, Executive Director of the White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The forum featured briefings from federal agencies including the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Department of Homeland Security.

Topics covered the CUAS grant application process, legal frameworks governing CUAS technology use, FBI training opportunities for operators, and discussions on emerging detection technologies.

Lisa Ellman, Chief Executive Officer of the Commercial Drone Alliance, stated, “The CUAS Industry and SLTT Grant Forum brought together all of the critical stakeholders, from federal to local governments and industry to law enforcement agencies, to bolster our critical collective efforts to enhance the security of our airspace, particularly around high-profile mass gathering events.

The industry was able to share opportunities, ask questions, and connect with law enforcement agencies to bolster efforts to protect communities.”

Flights temporarily halted at Brussels Airport amid suspected drone activity

Flights at Brussels Airport were briefly suspended on Wednesday night after air traffic controllers detected what was believed to be a drone near the airport premises.

Belgian air traffic authority Skeyes confirmed that operations were halted as a precautionary measure following the sighting of an unidentified aerial object.

Flights resumed later in the evening after officials declared the airspace safe. Authorities have yet to confirm the nature or origin of the object.

The incident comes amid growing concern in Belgium over suspicious drone movements near sensitive military and energy facilities.

Earlier in November, multiple drone activities were reported over Kleine Brogel Air Base, a site used by NATO and Belgian forces, as well as near Doel Nuclear Power Plant and Liège Airport.

In recent weeks, drones have also been spotted over Elsenborn Military Training Camp and King Albert Military Base in the Walloon region. Each event prompted temporary airspace restrictions while investigations were launched.

Belgian defense officials have acknowledged the increasing frequency of drone-related incidents across the country, warning that such activity may pose a national and regional security risk.

BREAKING: Fetterman Hospitalized After Fall, Suffers Minors Injuries to His Face

Democrat Senator John Fetterman, 56, was hospitalized on Thursday after a fall near his home in Braddock.

Fetterman was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh ‘out of the abundance of caution.’

Last year, Fetterman and his wife Gisele Fetterman, were injured in a car crash in Maryland and transported to a nearby hospital.

Stroke victim John Fetterman was driving and crashed his vehicle into the back of a Chevy Impala.

According to a Maryland State Police report, Senator Fetterman is ‘at fault’ for the car accident. The report stated that Fetterman was traveling “at a high rate of speed, well over the posted speed limit” when he slammed into the Chevy Impala.

Fetterman suffered a stroke in May 2022.

Fetterman previously said he lost his ability to fully process language after his stroke.

Ukraine aid issue wrecked German coalition – ex-chancellor

Former leader Olaf Scholz faced repeatedcriticism for his cautious approachto arming Kiev

The German government of ex-Chancellor Olaf Scholz collapsed over disagreements on funding for Ukraine, he has revealed.

Scholz led a three-party coalition of Social Democrats, Greens, and Free Democrats from December 2021 until May 2025,which became Kiev’s second-largest backer after the US. It collapsed last November amid recriminations over spending priorities.

Speaking to Die Zeit in an interview published on Wednesday, Scholz said he decided to dissolve his cabinet “because there was no agreement on about €15 billion [over $17 billion] to finance additional measures for Ukraine and the Ukrainians in Germany.”

Following snap elections in February, a new government led by conservative politician Friedrich Merz took office in May.

Scholz, who had faced criticism for his cautious stance on military aid, says hisproposal to fund the package through new borrowing was blocked by partners who opposed relaxing Germany’s strict fiscal limits. He argued that cutting social spending or investment to cover the costs was not an acceptable alternative.

Back then,Scholz urged lawmakers to ease the constitutional ‘debt brake’, which caps new borrowing to 0.35% of annual GDP, to guarantee continued support for Kiev. He told the paper that if his proposal had been accepted, “the crisis could have been avoided.”

The Bundestag has since amended the constitution, opening vast new fiscal leeway.

“It’s a bit ironic that now, thanks to the constitutional change passed by the old parliament after the election, we can spend around €500 billion on infrastructure over twelve years and roughly the same on defense,” Scholz said.

Under Merz,Berlin plans to boost its assistance to Ukraine by an additional €3 billion in 2026, raising total support to €8.5 billion.

According to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, between January 2022 and October 2024, Germany provided Ukraine with €11 billion worth of assistance, emerging as its second-largest backer after the US.

Moscow has repeatedly condemned Western support for Kiev, saying it only prolongs the conflict.

Silent Moving Lights Over Rural Illinois Leave Witnesses Stunned

If you've ever looked into the night sky and saw something that just didn't look normal then you'll understand a new report from rural Illinois where many people saw lights moving strangely that emitted no sound and they have video to prove it, too.

The eyewitness story from Niota, Illinois on the NUFORC site says that they first thought the lights they were seeing were stars or planes, but their movement didn't look like either. Here's a snippet of their exact words revealing what they witnessed:

"I saw several bright white lights (orb/bean shaped) in the sky near my area in rural Illinois. At first, I thought they were stars or planes, but they kept disappearing and reappearing, moving in different directions — up, down, and side to side.

At one point there were about five of them making triangle shapes before fading out again."

The witness said the lights were completely silent and the lights did not blink like normal aircraft lights. The sky was clear and there were apparently no objects reported on radar. You can watch video they shared to see the lights for yourself.

I found it odd that it seems like the smaller lights seem to be moving toward the larger one. I also don't think the lights look like any conventional aircraft. It's yet another sighting of weird lights over Illinois that are becoming more frequent these days.

A resident living in upstate New York says they recently witnessed something that they can't quite explain.

The person says that on the night of November 2, they saw what they described as three bizarre orbs in the sky that appeared to pulsate.

It is uncertain if what the person claims they saw were just drones, or military craft.

There are also other natural phenomena to consider, such as the number annual meteor showers.

The Orionids will continue to streak across the night skies through late November, as will the Leonids meteor shower, which peaks in mid-November, and will continue to be seen through the early nights of December.

New York State Resident Claims They Witnessed Three Strange "Pulsating" Orbs

A resident in Phelps, New York filed a report with the National Unidentified Flying Object Reporting Center, claiming they saw three mysterious orbs floating the skies November 2.

The person said that some of the orbs accelerated unlike any plane or military craft, with some even pulsating.

Appearing on the talk show ‘Markus Lanz’ aired by broadcaster ZDF on Tuesday, Chrupalla said that he “currently see[s] no danger to Germany from Russia.” He added that “any country can become a threat to Germany.”

When the host suggested that a fellow NATO and EU member state, such as Poland, was an unlikely candidate for that role, the AfD co-chair disagreed,insisting that “of course, Poland can also be a threat to us.”

“Take the current double moral, the double standards” that have been displayed by the Polish government with respect to the 2022 blasts that severely damaged the Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, he charged. Chrupalla cited Warsaw’s refusal to extradite a Ukrainian “terrorist” that the German authorities had issued an arrest warrant for in connection with the explosions.

Last month,the Warsaw District Court dismissed Berlin’s extradition request for Ukrainian national Vladimir Zhuravlyov as “unfounded.” The judge argued that “blowing up critical infrastructure during a war… is not sabotage but denotes a military action.” (See anything can be justified, although the act damaged all European countries that used the pipeline, the judge didn’t consider that.)

Speaking on Tuesday,Chrupalla also defended AfD lawmakers’ trips to Russia, arguing thatsuch contacts are necessary to maintain dialogue with Moscow.

In September, Markus Frohnmaier, who leads the AfD in the Bundestag,argued that “we are genuinely interested in normalizing relations with Russia.” He cited theeconomic woestriggered by Germany’sdecision to “decouple” from inexpensive Russian energy.

According to a survey by the pollster INSA, whose results were released last month,the AfD had emerged as the most popular party in Germany, enjoying the support of26% of respondents.

Exclusive: Drone Videos Sent to Coast Guard During 2024 New Jersey Wave Go Public

Video footage submitted to the U.S. Coast Guard during the height of the New Jersey drone incursions in December 2024 — and referenced in documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act — has been obtained by Liberation Times.

Four videos, filmed by a witness in Sea Bright, New Jersey, on the evening of 17 December 2024, show multiple flashing lights in the sky and a brightly illuminated object on the surface of the ocean.

The shoreline and sea are clearly visible throughout the footage, as the witness shines a green laser towards one of the objects.

The witness who provided the footage also submitted a written statement in an accompanying report, which read:

“Witnessed large number of drones travelling from sea. Possibly launched from ship and return. Ship is about 3 miles out [from] Sea Bright NJ. Drones are as large as F-150 truck.”

The witness reported observing more than 50 drones over a 20–30 minute period, describing audible rotor noise and unusual flight behaviour.

The objects, they said, did not transit briefly like aircraft, but instead loitered, moving back and forth between offshore and inland positions—behaviour they believed suggested a maritime launch point.

The report was one of multiple sightings recorded in December 2024, when drones were observed over Island Beach State Park in New Jersey.

Logs and incident reports relating to those sightings were obtained by Liberation Times through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Marik Von Rennenkampff, a former analyst at the U.S. Department of State and Obama administration appointee at the Department of Defense (now Department of War), reviewed the footage and provided his assessment to Liberation Times:

“After reviewing the metadata from the mobile phone videos and identifying the observer’s location, the flashing lights observed off the coast of New Jersey not only match FAA strobes but also ABS-B transponder data for commercial flights that operated in the congested New York/New Jersey airspace that evening.

He added:

“Once again, just as with the overwhelming majority of footage from last year’s ‘drone’ incursions over New Jersey, this is yet another case of misidentified civilian aircraft.”

An assessment provided on 10 December 2024 by the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration showed that witnesses were in a ‘high-traffic patter[n] for JFK International Airport.’

The assessment continued:

‘At the time of observation, these aircraft were descending out of 20,000 feet down to 10,000 feet until intersecting the glide slope into JFK.

Due to their altitude, these aircraft would likely not be expected to have their approach lights on, as they are typically activated at, or below, 10,000 feet.

This means that only the green or red wingtip lights would be visible, along with multiple strobes on each wingtip, on the underbody of the fuselage, on the top of the vertical stabilizer, and on the rear of the fuselage by the APU exhaust.

‘Were these videos to be of UAS operating over the ocean, we would expect to see these 17 aircraft to be visible in the background with their high-intensity navigational lights described above activated.

Since we do not see additional aircraft beyond the drones, it furthers the assessment that the reported UAS in these videos are the aircraft themselves.’

Although absent from the footage, the behaviour described by the witness—objects moving inland, returning offshore, hovering in place, and producing rotor noise—does not correspond with commercial aviation activity.

Drone activity in New Jersey also extended to Naval Weapons Station Earle, a high-security U.S. Navy munitions base with waterfront facilities located along Sandy Hook Bay, just minutes from Sea Bright.

The facility — which features one of the longest naval ordnance piers in the world and plays a critical role in loading and transferring military explosives for Atlantic Fleet operations — confirmed multiple unauthorised drone incursions in December 2024.

In January 2025, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt downplayed reports of mystery drones, including those observed near sensitive military installations in New Jersey, claiming they were simply research drones approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

This was despite the FAA having imposed restrictions in direct response to these incidents.

Drone incursions from unknown actors across the Western world have continued into 2025, with Belgium among the most recent countries forced to respond.

Consistent features of the incursions include uncertainty over the point of origin and operator control, alongside indications that electronic countermeasures — including jamming systems — have proven ineffective.

Judge allows prosecution of New Jersey Democratic Rep McIver on assault charge to proceed

A federal judge on Thursday allowed the prosecution of New Jersey Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver on an assault charge to proceed.

McIver sought a dismissal of her case, claiming that the Trump administration is selectively and vindictively prosecuting her for allegedly assaulting agents while at an immigration facility in May, The Hill news outlet reported.

U.S. District Judge Jamel Semper, a Biden appointee, denied the dismissal that McIver requested. She has pleaded not guilty.

“Defendant has failed to offer clear evidence that the charges in this case had a discriminatory effect, thus her claims of selective enforcement and prosecution must fail,” Semper wrote.

The judge's ruling largely rejected McIver’s arguments that she is immune under the Constitution’s Speech and Debate Clause, which protects lawmakers for what they say or do as part of their legislative activities. Semper said that he would rule on the defense later for one of the three counts.

On Nov. 5, 1975, Travis Walton stepped out of a truck to gain a closer look at something strange. In the distance, he could hear six of his logging crewmates urging him to come back inside.

As Walton approached the craft that brightened the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, he felt a stunning jolt that rendered him unconscious.

The crewmates reported seeing a beam, described variously as a foot-wide laser, a blot of lighting or a blue flame, strike Walton in the head and chest. His body arched backward, arms and legs stretched, lifted into the air, before falling limp to the ground.

Fifty years later, the “Travis Walton incident” remains one of the most famous UFO abduction stories.

Eyewitness accounts from that night sparked national controversy, lectures, documentaries, books and even a motion picture, 1993’s “Fire in the Sky.”
