The Obama/Biden Administration moves on destroying the goodness in America and bankrupting it in the process. As Americans sleep, Obama continues to change the country. Poor people, with no skill sets, are being encouraged to come into our country as Democrats attempt to build a base of government-subsidized individuals to whom they plan to sell votes for unaffordable inefficient government programs. Obama never understood that America was built on hard work, not handouts.

But they are charging ahead. In San Antonio, renovations are in the works for housing illegal aliens who cross the border illegally and enter the US. Instead of being shipped back to wherever they come from, massive facilities are being readied for their arrival and care.

According to KENS5 in San Antonio:

Nobody is saying when 2,400 migrant children will arrive in San Antonio seeking shelter, but the mad dash effort to transform an exhibit hall into a safe space for the kids continues in east San Antonio.

The trail of trucks full of supplies is almost constant at the Expo Hall known more for cows than kids. At the Bexar County Community Arenas complex, which is the home of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, the parking lot is jammed, as hundreds of people are involved in the effort to turn exhibit space into living and play space for children who are trying to find their way back to their families.

What does KENS5 mean by “these children are trying to find their way back to their families”? This madness is why Americans were ready for a change after Barack Obama. They never wanted this garbage insanity. Never.

According to Jenn Pellegrino from OAN — 40% of the traffic is illegal aliens, paid for by your tax dollars.

A reader in Dallas told TGP that he flew from DFW and witnessed migrants with no IDs to bypass TSA and fly.

We have no idea who these migrants are and many are infected with Covid-19.

According to new reports, the manila envelopes are also full of cash.

Infowars reporter Owen Shroyer spoke to illegal aliens at McAllen Miller International Airport in Hidalgo County, Texas, who were holding manila envelopes full of cash with with travel information marked on the outside.

Newsmax contributor James Klüg posted a picture of a Mexican woman and her baby with a manila envelope with the same message.

“Please Help Me. I Do Not Speak English.”

“Flight out of McAllen, TX – 80%+ filled with illegal immigrants: This woman told my Spanish speaking source she was not given a court date. She was given a folder that states ‘Please help me. Do not speak English’ and $2,500,” Klüg wrote.

The Mexican woman was given strict instruction to say a friend paid for their tickets.

Berlin Halts AstraZeneca Jab As Germany Weighs Limiting It To Older Patients

The spread of SARS-CoV-2 and the confirmed "mutant" strains has accelerated (though daily numbers remain well below their record highs reached in late January) over the past month, and just after the European Union finally reached a deal with the UK to try and ensure vaccine "reciprocity" (at least for developed, wealthy, western countries). But more than a week after troubled vaccine-maker AstraZeneca released a revised analysis of its Phase 3 research following a squabble with an obscure US regulator, German Capital Berlin has just announced that it's banning jabs going to patients over the age of 60.

The reason? New research from a team of German scientists suggesting that there is indeed a link between the AstraZeneca jabs and the dangerous blood clots that have killed a small handful of patients in Europe. To arrive at this conclusion, the team examined 9 cases of the rare blood clots isolated in Austria and Germany. The 9 patients (8 female; median age, 36 [range, 22—49) presented with thrombosis beginning 4 to 16 days post-vaccination: 7 patients had cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), 1 had pulmonary embolism, and 1 had splanchnic vein thrombosis and CVT. Ultimately, 4 patients died.

Researchers concluded that "the AZD1222 vaccine is "associated with development of a prothrombotic disorder". Dilek Kalayci, the city’s top health official, said that both Germany’s independent STIKO vaccine commission, which is supported by the RKI public-health institute, and the Federal Institute for Vaccines will make new recommendations on how to proceed. Those could be published as soon as Tuesday.

What's more, regional German health ministers will also discuss the Astra vaccine with federal government officials during a special meeting later on Tuesday. RKI spokeswoman Susanne Glasmacher confirmed that the vaccine commission is parsing the latest research about the vaccine's health risks. Meanwhile, Germany’s vaccine authority STIKO recommended use of AstraZeneca vaccine only for men and women older than 60. Initially, when German regulators first approved the AstraZeneca jab, they limited it to those under 65.

“We have to wait for the recommendations but we wanted to take this step as a precaution,” Kalayci said at a news conference, adding that pending appointments will be canceled. “This vaccine does prevent severe symptoms, and that is very valuable, but we have to be careful with it nonetheless.”

Of course, the EMA acknowledged these side-effect risks during its safety review earlier this month. Both the EMA and WHO have insisted that the potential benefits of the vaccines far outweigh the risks.

Vaccination rates in EU nations remain well below those in the US, which is on the cusp of doling out some 3MM jabs per day, the fastest rate in the world.

24 World Leaders Call For More Globalism In Wake Of Pandemic

Twenty four world leaders have signed a letter calling for more globalism to combat future pandemics, citing the the coronavirus outbreak as an opportunity to consign nationalism to the dustbin of history.

UK prime minister Boris Johnson, German chancellor Angela Merkel, and French president Emmanuel Macron are the leading figures behind the pledge, with 21 other heads of state signing the letter.

It states that “nobody is safe until everyone is safe,” and that a “global community” must be further implemented in order to combat ‘inevitable’ future pandemics.

“At a time when Covid-19 has exploited our weaknesses and divisions, we must seize this opportunity and come together as a global community for peaceful cooperation that extends beyond this crisis,” the letter states.

“Building our capacities and systems to do this will take time and require a sustained political, financial and societal commitment over many years,” it adds.

The letter compares the situation to the aftermath of the Second World War, and urges an end to “isolationism and nationalism”.

The pledge calls for a strengthening of the World Health Organisation’s infrastructure, despite the global health body’s documented failures in regards to the pandemic, and continued charges that it has facilitated the communist Chinese government’s lies and deceptions.

WHO director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also signed the letter, having repeatedly slammed nations including Britain and the US for putting their own populations first when it comes to recovery.

The letter specifically calls for a global treaty on pandemics to be signed to establish international ‘rules and norms’ for vaccine production and distribution, as well as coordination on ‘alert systems, data-sharing and research’.

Presumably any global treaty would also address restrictions to be put in place under future pandemics, although that is not made clear in the letter.

The Biden administration is working with the private sector to develop a standardized way for Americans to prove their Covid-19 vaccination status, the Washington Post reported over the weekend. So-called ‘vaccine passports’ – which proponents argue should be required to travel, work and attend public events – have been bitterly opposed by Republicans and civil liberties advocates, with opponents describing them as a step toward “totalitarian communism” and comparing them to the yellow stars used to identify Jews in Nazi Germany.

When Scarborough gets behind a cause, he tends to go all in. When the US invaded Iraq in 2003, he became one of the media’s most vocal supporters of the war, insisting that US forces would find evidence of chemical weapons and the anti-war crowd would owe the Bush administration an apology. After bashing “negative pronouncements” about the war from the New York Times, CNN, and ABC, he insisted two months into the now 18-year-old conflict that the US had “won.”

While it is unlikely that Scarborough’s haranguing and berating will win over any opponents of vaccine passports, they are likely an inevitability. Aside from Biden’s push for such identification, EU officials have proposed their own certificates, while industry groups like the International Air Transport Association and corporations like IBM have rolled out their own versions of the passports.

With enough enthusiasm from the private sector, the US government may only step in to ensure standardization. Speaking to reporters on Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that “we want to drive the market toward meeting public interest goals.” The government “is not viewing its role as the place to create a passport, nor a place to hold the data of citizens,” Andy Slavitt, a White House Covid-19 adviser, added during Psaki’s briefing.

America’s ‘Sheriff of the Year’ Covered Up School Cop Preying on Children for a Decade—Lawsuit

Richland, SC — On Monday, the National Sheriffs Association handed out their highest honor and declared Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, Sheriff of the Year — for the entire United States.

“This is a tremendous honor both personally and for the state of South Carolina,” Lott said in a press release. “This is the first time a S.C. sheriff has been named national Sheriff of the Year.”

This decision was undoubtedly made months ago, but there are likely some members of the association who are worried they may have egg on their face for this move. Around the same time the association made their decision, a lawsuit was filed accusing Lott and internal investigators within his department for coving up sexual abuse of children — for nearly a decade.

According to the lawsuit, Lott along with multiple members of the department, covered up the child sex crimes of the now-former deputy, Jamel Bradley from 2010 to 2019. The coverup, according to the filings, was carried out to save the department from embarrassment and liability — a 9-year conspiracy which has since been proven futile.

Lott and Capt. John E. Ewing, the former deputy’s supervisor, “deliberately and systematically concealed Deputy Bradley’s predatory nature and concealed their own knowledge of his predatory nature,” the filing said.

Bradley has since been arrested and charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct and sexual battery At the time of his arrests, Lott and the department were quick to distance themselves from the alleged child predator.

“I’m sick to my stomach over the thought of this girl being victimized by one of my former deputies. No child should be subjected to this, and I’m disgusted that it happened with someone who was entrusted with protecting our children.”

‘We didn’t ignore this,” Lott said. “As soon as this came to our attention…we got on it.’

But given the claims in the lawsuit, and the facts of the case, this was simply not true.

According to the lawsuit, Lott and others in the department knew about this abuse for years and there were multiple red flags the department swept under the rug which implicated Bradley in crimes against children.

Two of those red flags were lawsuits against the department and Richland school district officials, one of which settled last year for $900,000. Another red flag, according to The State, was evidence that Bradley had inappropriate relationships and possibly sexually assaulted a female student. That evidence included a lie detector test failed by the former deputy and emails with students that lawyers described as clearly suspicious.

For years, multiple other red flags were raised and subsequently ignored by the department. They included inappropriate emails sent by Bradley to children as well as Bradley sending photos of himself to another student. A parent came forward with concerns Bradley was having “sexual relations” with a child which went to the desks of Ewing and the sheriff and were swept under the rug again.

This sheriff just received one of the highest honors in the country, and he’s apparently been covering up child sex abuse for years. This is the state of policing in 2021.

US Special Operations’ new “chief of diversity” has been reassigned just days after he was appointed, amid an investigation into social media posts in which he compared former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

A Department of Defense official confirmed the reassignment of Richard Torres-Estrada to Fox News on Tuesday.

Torres-Estrada’s appointment as chief of diversity and inclusion was announced just last Thursday by the US Special Operations Command.

But by Monday, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby confirmed a probe into Torres-Estrada’s social-media posts, which include an image juxtaposing Trump and Hitler and an anti-police political cartoon.

“Obviously, we take the need to promote diversity and inclusion seriously here in the department,” Kirby said during a Monday briefing, according to Fox News. “The secretary [of defense, Lloyd Austin] has spoken to that many times. And we certainly want that work to be transparent, to be credible, to be effective, and of course professional.”

COVID Tracking Apps Have Eerie Echoes of Chinese Surveillance System

President Joe Biden's COVID team appears to have entertained an electronic test-and-trace program pioneered by the University of Illinois that would have let businesses deny service to patrons based on their health data, a PowerPoint presentation obtained by the Washington Free Beacon shows. The program has eerie echoes of China's surveillance system, which uses data from citizens' phones to impose quarantines.

A PowerPoint produced by the school suggests scaling up the university's intrusive contact tracing system for use across the United States. Its file name, "2020-12-14 Shield Biden Covid Team," indicates that it was presented to the Biden team in December, amid an ongoing search for solutions to a seemingly insoluble problem: how to stop the virus without stopping the economy? The presentation proffered an answer.

The school's system uses a mobile app that records test results and Bluetooth data to determine who has been exposed to the virus—and "links building access" on campus to that information. Local businesses have also embraced it, making entry conditional on a "safe status" reading from the app.

The system resembles the one being used in China, where a mandatory app gives each user a "health status"—green, yellow, or red—that dictates access to public spaces. The University of Illinois app likewise divides users into three categories: "yellow" if they've recently tested negative, "orange" if they've potentially been exposed, and "red" if they've recently tested positive. Only students with a yellow status may enter buildings.

The proposal would amount to a more extreme version of the "vaccine passports" being rolled out by airlines and some U.S. cities, which are already causing controversy. Those passports, such as New York's "Excelsior" app, indicate whether an individual has tested negative or been vaccinated, but not whether they've been exposed to the virus based on tracking data. They collect less information and use a less granular classification scheme than the University of Illinois app, meaning they pose relatively fewer risks to civil liberties.

It's unclear how such a scheme would play with liberal activists. While it represents the sort of ambitious, nationwide COVID response Biden has said he wants, it also threatens to exclude far more Americans from public life than measures like voter ID laws, which progressives have decried as the "new Jim Crow."

Only 11 percent of Americans do not have a government-issued ID, according to the Brennan Center for Justice, whereas 19 percent don't own a smartphone. Widespread adoption of the app could ice nearly a fifth of the United States out of the economy, never mind the polling booth.

Stacey Abrams's Fair Fight, whose founder has called voter ID laws a way to "scare people out of voting," did not respond to a request for comment.

Executive order requires agencies to boost registration efforts

President Joe Biden put controversial former national security adviser Susan Rice in charge of directing hundreds of federal agencies and departments to expand access to mail-in voting.

Biden signed an executive order in March that put Rice, now the assistant to the president for domestic policy, in charge of soliciting strategies from federal agencies to produce "relevant information" on expanded voting registration procedures. Federal agencies must submit to Rice "a strategic plan outlining the ways identified under this review that the agency can promote voter registration and voter participation" within 200 days under the terms of the order.

"Agencies shall consider ways to expand citizens' opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process," the order states. "The head of each agency shall evaluate ways in which the agency can, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, promote voter registration and voter participation."

It requires agencies to distribute registration and vote-by-mail ballot application forms, as well as to assist any applicants in completing the forms. It also pushes agencies to allow "approved, nonpartisan third-party organizations and State officials to provide voter registration services on agency premises."

Biden arrived in the White House thanks in large part to the record number of mail-in ballots in the 2020 election. Former president Donald Trump led in many major swing states at the close of Election Day, only to see his lead evaporate as mail-in ballots were counted that heavily favored Biden.

Critics of Biden's order warned that it represents a massive federal government overreach into election policies put in place by state lawmakers. Chase Martin, legal affairs director for the Foundation for Government Accountability, said the order is "an overly broad federal mandate."

"The order is about inflicting the federal government's will on the states," Martin said. "There's a ton of room for this process to be abused."

The Biden administration did not respond to a request for comment on the order.

Rice has come under fire for her tenure as national security adviser under the Obama administration. Republicans have criticized her handling of the Benghazi crisis and the Bowe Bergdahl hostage exchange as well as her alleged attempts to reveal the identities of Trump campaign and administration officials. Rice denied that she leaked any names or identities and said she only obtained information to add context to intelligence reports she received.

White House press secretary defends arrangement, says 'context is important'

EXCLUSIVE: White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday was grilled about San Diego public school teachers volunteering to teach migrant children in-person before returning to the classroom to teach the students in their own district.

Psaki seemed to defend the in-person instruction while students are on spring break, saying "context is important."

Fox News first reported that teachers from San Diego Unified School District are teaching migrant children in person, while SDUSD students are still learning in an online-only format.

The district is expected to move into a hybrid model of in-person and online learning on April 12. Psaki was asked during the press briefing whether the White House supported the arrangement.

"As I understand it, San Diego public schools are opening in early April," Psaki said. "Students will be back in the classroom — part time — and certainly you know our objective from the White House — 5 days a week for majority of schools across the country."

Psaki suggested teachers are "volunteering" to teach migrant children during this period.

"The context is important," she said. "These kids are going back to school for hybrid learning, we of course want this to be five days a week, and we're confident we’ll get there early next month."

She added: "I believe they’re also on spring break right now. I am not sure if its volunteer, or paid, you'd have to ask a local school district, while the kids are on spring break, which, I think, the context is pretty important."

A SDUSD spokeswoman confirmed to Fox News the district has shared information about the opportunity for teachers to volunteer teaching migrant children in person during their spring break this week.

She noted she doesn't know if teachers are getting paid, saying that it's up to the county.

"The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is providing the educational program for the unaccompanied migrant children who will be staying at the San Diego Convention Center through July. All children in California, regardless of immigration status, have a constitutional right to education. We also have a moral obligation to ensure a bright future for our children," an SDCOE spokesperson told Fox News in an emailed statement.

"The educational program will include English language development and social-emotional learning opportunities. The teachers who are participating in the program are doing so voluntarily, and the program is following a COVID-19 screening protocol based on guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."

News of his prospective departure from Congress comes a week after an Armed Services hearing on extremism. Some Republicans, including Gaetz, questioned the need for the hearing, despite a large number of veterans and service members taking part in the Jan. 6 siege on the Capitol.

"I would categorize this hearing as total nonsense," Gaetz said. "The House Armed Services Committee is engaged in a review of constitutionally protected expressions of our troops. How utterly weak of us."

Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash., the chair of the committee, called Gaetz a demagogue.

"The terrible thing is we have demagogues on both sides," Smith said during the hearing. "And sorry, Mr. Gaetz is the best example of the demagogue problem we have today."

Newsmax is a far-right media platform that has promoted the theory that the 2020 election was rigged against former President Donald Trump. This included unproven allegations that electronic voting machine company Smartmatic rigged voting machines to flip votes against Trump.

Earlier this month, Newsmax also sent an email encouraging readers to opt out of getting COVID-19 vaccines, urging them to buy a nutrition book instead.

A spokesman for Gaetz did not respond to a request for comment.

At time, his father's administration considered Dmitri Firtash a fugitive felon.

Hunter Biden and his business partner engaged in an effort to assist a fugitive Ukrainian oligarch indicted by his father's administration, an effort that briefly captured the FBI's attention and led one of the lawyers in the case to express concern that using the then-vice president's son might backfire, according to emails, text messages and interviews.

The effort by Hunter Biden and Devon Archer to assist Dmitri Firtash began in spring 2015 when they were contacted by one of the oligarch's associates, and an American lawyer for the oligarch was instructed to provide them an overview of the case, including desires to contact U.S. government officials.

Firtash, one of Ukraine's wealthiest businessmen, already had been indicted by the Obama-Biden administration more than a year earlier on corruption charges in Chicago, allegations that Firtash has long denied. Firtash was challenging extradition to the United States from Austria, where he was living, and was seeking to return to his home country of Ukraine, where the economy and security teetered after a Russian invasion of its Crimean region.

"The case is weak and ultimately, and perhaps as soon as next week, a loser. Moreover, Austria at the highest levels has zero enthusiasm for its continuation," Adam Waldman, an American lawyer for Firtash, emailed Archer on April 21, 2015 in an overview about the case. The email, entitled "6 points," was immediately forwarded to Hunter Biden by Archer.

"The only ask is that an introductory meeting be arranged in Vienna between some designee of the USG and DF," Waldman wrote, apparently referring to Firtash's hopes. "This could then lead to closer communication from him about his intentions and direction in his country."

Wall Street on Tuesday may be seeing muted action but investors were still buzzing about the highly leveraged wrongway bet reportedly employed by

Bill Hwang’s Archegos Capital Management,

which may have saddled many banks with multibillion-dollar losses.

Using derivatives, Archegos, pronounced “Ar-chee-gos” by the company, maintained positions in stocks including ViacomCBS Inc. VIAC, 3.02%, Discovery Inc. DISCA, 6.72%, and GSX Techedu GSX, 6.34%, and was hit by margin calls as the direction of those highfliers turned against the family office.

The downturn in the stocks, with shares ViacomCBS and Discovery registering their worst downturns on record, forced the banks that lent Archegos the money to execute complex derivatives trades to ask the fund to put up more money or unwind the wagers.

Losses at Archegos have triggered the liquidation of massive stock positions in excess of $30 billion in value, referred to as block trades, the Wall Street Journal wrote. Some, however, say that Hwang’s fund’s exposures in financial markets approached $100 billion.

One Wall Street veteran, Michael Novogratz at Galaxy Digital and an ex-hedge fund manager was quoted by Bloomberg News as offering this unmitigated assessment of the Archegos losses:

“I’ve never seen anything like this —how quiet it was, how concentrated, and how fast it disappeared,” he said. “This has to be one of the single greatest losses of personal wealth in history,” said Novogratz.

A call to Hwang at Archegos offices in New York wasn’t immediately returned but the investment company has issued a comment via a spokeswoman.

“This is a challenging time for the family office of Archegos Capital Management, our partners and employees. All plans are being discussed as Mr. Hwang and the team determine the best path forward,” she said.

The Archegos liquidation may also have hit Credit Suisse Group AG and Nomura Holdings Inc., which said they could incur substantial losses related to recent market turbulence without naming the fund specifically.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the securities business of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. also said it could lose $300 million from its exposure to a U.S. client, also without naming the entity behind the losses.

On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.30%, the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.27% and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.03% were all trading modestly lower and shares of Discovery and ViacomCBS were up sharply.

It isn’t clear how much money Hwang will lose as his fund reportedly managed some $10 billion, a fraction of its reported equity exposures. Hwang was a disciple of legendary investor Julian Robertson, who ran Tiger Management and whose alumni are referred to as Tiger cubs.

In 2012, Hwang turned Tiger Asia, which he founded in 2001, into his family office and renamed it Archegos and changed its structure to a family office. The change came after Tiger Asia pleaded guilty to a fraud charge and agreed to pay $44 million to settle civil allegations by U.S. securities regulators that it engaged in insider trading of Chinese bank stocks, WSJ reported at the time.

TOPEKA, Kans. – For 10 days in March, the U.S. Marshals and Topeka Police, working with multiple federal, state and local law enforcement partners, conducted an operation designed to reduce violent crime and drug activity in and around Topeka, resulting in 258 arrests.

Operation Frontier Justice was conducted in partnership with the Topeka Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the FBI, Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office, Kansas Department of Corrections, Shawnee County Department of Corrections, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In addition to the 258 arrests, 16 of which were gang members, the operation resulted in the seizure of 24 firearms, nearly 19 kilograms of narcotics to include marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin and $25,000 in U.S. currency.

Operation Frontier Justice was conducted by utilizing strategies derived from the U.S. Marshals counter-gang model. These strategies include the targeting and arrest of violent fugitives, gang members and criminal offenders who have committed violent crimes such as homicide, shooting into dwellings, felony assault and sexual assault, illegal possession of firearms, illegal drug distribution, and robbery. Florida Man Admits To Downloading Dozens of Videos From The Largest Darknet Child Pornography Website, Which Was Funded By Bitcoin

Tampa, Florida – Jack R. Dove, III (41, Lakeland) has pleaded guilty to receiving and possessing images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. He faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 5 years, and up to 20 years, in federal prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 29, 2021.

Dove had been indicted on January 29, 2019.

According to court documents, Dove used the cryptocurrency bitcoin to pay for a membership to a Darknet marketplace called “Welcome To Video,” which contained the largest collection of child sexual exploitation materials by volume on the Darknet. In March 2018, the Korean National Police in South Korea seized the server that was used to operate the “Welcome To Video” website, which contained over 250,000 child sexual exploitation videos. The website exclusively advertised child sexual exploitation videos available for purchase and download by members of the website using bitcoin. An analysis of the server revealed that Dove had created multiple accounts. In January and February 2017, Dove used one of his accounts to purchase “points” from the website. Dove then used those “points” to download and received approximately 8,700 megabytes of child sex abuse material. In August 2018, Dove used another account to pay for “VIP” membership to the website granting him unlimited downloads from the website over a six-month period. During his VIP membership status, Dove downloaded and received approximately 38 videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, including young children.

On November 30, 2018, federal agents executed a search warrant at Dove’s Lakeland home and seized several electronic devices. A forensic analysis of the devices revealed that Dove had in fact received the child sex abuse videos that he had previously purchased from the “Welcome To Video” website and was in possession of additional child sex abuse material depicting young children, including infants and toddlers, who had been bound and subjected to sadistic and violent acts during the production of the videos.

More than 4,000 migrants, many children, held in cramped Texas tent facility

The US government’s main border detention facility for migrant children is an overcrowded tent structure currently packed with more than 4,000 people, despite a 250 person capacity, it was revealed Tuesday.

The Biden administration for the first time allowed reporters from the Associated Press and CBS to tour the crammed US Customs and Border Protection facility in Donna, Texas.

The structure has a capacity of 250 — but the AP reported that more than 4,100 migrants, most of them unaccompanied kids, are currently being held there.

The children were being loaded by the hundreds into eight pods about 3,200 square feet in size. Many of the pods had more than 250 kids in them.

The youngest of them were kept in a large play pen with mats on the floor for sleeping.

Then, the minors were brought to a large intake room where those 14 and older were fingerprinted and had their photo taken.

They were then taken to a second intake room where they were given notices to appear in immigration court.

Kids who had a contact in the US were allowed to speak with that person on the phone.

Children were given bracelets with a barcode that showed a history of when they had showered and any medical conditions.

A Virginia man’s skin swelled, burned then peeled off in a rare reaction to the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine.

74-year-old Richard Terrell said he began to feel discomfort in his armpit four days after he received the Covid-19 vaccine earlier this month.

Soon Terrell developed an itchy rash and his skin began to swell, turn red and burn.

“It was stinging, burning and itching,” Terrell said as he described the pain. “Whenever I bent my arms or legs, like the inside of my knee, it was very painful where the skin was swollen and was rubbing against itself.”

After a few days, the rash covered his entire body and his skin peeled off.

A Goochland County man suffered a severe reaction after getting his COVID-19 vaccine and VCU doctors believe it was a direct result of the shot.

Richard Terrell got the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine earlier this month. He suffered a severe rash that spread over his entire body and turned his skin red. The 74-year-old was admitted to the hospital and spent five days at the VCU Medical Center.

Terrell was released from the hospital and is now sharing his vaccination story as he recovers from the comfort of his Goochland home. He tells 8News that he’s still very weak and that it will take some time for him to fully recover, but he’s thankful to have received his dose.

“It all just happened so fast. My skin peeled off,” Terrell said as he looked down. “It’s still coming off on my hands now.”

On March 6, Terrell received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Ashland. He shares that everything went perfectly fine, however four days later he started experiencing symptoms.

While Pushing to Overturn Certified Election, Democrat Lawyer Claims Republicans Want to Disenfranchise Voters

Democrat lawyer Marc Elias argued Monday in a filing with the U.S. House Committee on House Administration that Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) and the Republican Party have “hostility to fundamental democratic norms.”

Elias claims there are 22 outstanding ballots that should have been counted, even though Iowa election officials rejected them as illegal. Rather than filing a challenge in state court, he has turned to the Democrat-run House to use its powers under the Federal Contested Elections Act (FCEA) to unseat Miller-Meeks and replace her with Rita Hart, who lost to Miller-Meeks in the 2020 election. The Republicans have allegedly taken to stop the voting procedure.

Elias’s filings attack Miller-Meeks’s ties to the Republican Party, claiming the Party’s “hostility to fundamental democratic norms,” including the “baseless attempts of its standard-bearer”:

Contestee Miller-Meeks’s adamant opposition to Contestant Hart’s efforts to count these lawful ballots is alarming, but not surprising. Her obstruction is consistent with her party’s outright hostility to fundamental democratic norms, from the baseless attempts of its standard-bearer and his allies to throw out hundreds of thousands of lawful votes and overturn the will of the people last November, to its refusal to uniformly condemn the assault on our democracy that unfolded on January 6, to its unanimous opposition to the For the People Act and other legislative efforts to safeguard the vote, to its open hostility to this attempt to prevent the disenfranchisement of 22 Iowans. The position of Contestee Miller-Meeks and the Republican Party is now clear: the right to vote is worthy of neither respect nor protection.

Hart lost the race for Iowa’s Second Congressional District by six votes to Miller-Meeks after all the late ballots were counted, an outcome that was further confirmed by a recount. Miller-Meeks’s narrow victory was then certified by Iowa state election authorities.

Miller-Meeks maintained the lead and never fell behind Hart during the original count and the recount.

During the 2020 election cycle, Elias represented Democrats against President Donald Trump’s challenges to the election results.

Paul Pate, Iowa’s secretary of state, wrote a letter Monday to Pelosi in support of Miller-Meeks by denouncing Hart’s efforts to overturn a state-certified House race. Pate argued that Hart’s campaign should have used all the legal possibilities in the state of Iowa before going to the federal level, where her party controls the chamber.

In Pate’s letter, he wrote the administration of Iowa’s elections process was done in either a bipartisan or a nonpartisan way during the original count and the recount. “Rita Hart chose to bypass the nonpartisan Iowa process and take her challenge to the U.S. House of Representatives where her political party has the power to grant her a seat she did not win,” Pate wrote.

He explained the bipartisan process was “comprised of one representative from the Miller-Meeks campaign, one representative from the Hart campaign, and a third member who was was agreed upon by the other two representatives or appointed by a district judge.” After all the recounts had been completed, the Hart campaign signed off on all of the procedures and results.

Breitbart News reported the efforts to overturn the election would be harder for the Democrats due to their slimming majority, multiple Democrats defecting from Pelosi, and mounting pressure from numerous editorial boards across the country who have cited Pelosi’s efforts to overturn the election as a power grab.

More German Politicians Resign over Face Masks Bribery Scandal

Another German politician joined the list of suspects in a corruption scandal involving the procurement of COVID-19 face masks that has rocked the country’s conservatives and prompted the Bundestag to introduce a lobby register.

Niels Korte withdrew his candidacy for the Bundestag on Monday due to the media coverage of the mask affair which has implicated him in the bribery scheme. He denied the accusations, saying that they had “left him stunned.”

Korte is the latest member of the Christian Social Union party, CSU, who has stepped down from a post because of the scandal that erupted at the end of February.

Last week Bavarian authorities arrested a person suspected of having bribed CSU members, including lawmakers, to broker face mask procurement deals. The statement by the Prosecution Office did not reveal the suspect’s name, but German magazine Der Spiegel said the arrested person was Thomas Limberger, 53, an entrepreneur affiliated with the party.

Limberger reportedly used his companies to arrange the mask deals with the German government and pay commissions to the MPs who facilitated the contracts. The Sueddeutsche Zeitung cited reports claiming that between five and six million euros in commissions were supposed to be paid.

Among the suspects who have allegedly profited from the procurement deals are Georg Nüßlein, who resigned from his post at the CSU earlier this month but kept his seat in the Bundestag. He reportedly received a commission of 660,000 euros (US$800,000).

Another member of the CSU, Alfred Sauter, is believed to have received about 1.2 million euros ($1.4 million) in bribes. Both men have vehemently denied the allegations.

Additionally, the company of former lawmaker Nikolas Löbel also allegedly pocketed 250,000 euros ($295,000) in commissions as part of the mask affair. Löbel left the party and the Bundestag.

The German press has reported that the mask affair investigation originated from an alert from a bank in Liechtenstein, which found Limberger's transactions suspicious and blocked them.

In the light of the recent events, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its sister party CSU drafted a series of ethical rules that their members are obliged to follow, which states, among several guidelines, that politicians are prohibited from accepting financial contributions.

The Bundestag, meanwhile, approved the introduction of a transparency register that will require lawmakers to declare any interests they represent in a public directory. The MPs will also have to reveal details about their lobbying work.

“With the introduction of a lobby register, we are finally creating an effective instrument for more transparency in legislation,” said Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht from the Social Democratic Party, SPD.

Honduran President’s Brother Sentenced to Life in Prison Over Massive Drug Trafficking Scheme

Tony Hernandez is a former member of the National Congress of Honduras, and also happens to be the brother of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez. The former congressional lawmaker was arrested in 2018 and convicted in 2019 over conspiracy charges tied to drug smuggling and possession of machine guns.

A New York judge sentenced Hernandez to life in prison on Tuesday after he was found guilty of being involved in a massive international drug trafficking scheme that saw him traffic over 185,000 kilograms of cocaine.

Judge P. Kevin Castel, who serves the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, remarked in his sentencing that Hernandez’s life sentence was “richly deserved,” as the defendant was previously found guilty of having played a central role in the importation of illicit drugs.

Castel urged the former congressman to use his time in prison to reflect on his actions, adding that “perhaps you can do some good for your family and your country.”

In addition to the life sentence, Hernandez was ordered to forfeit $138.5 million for his hand in distributing 185 tons of cocaine. Officials estimated the figure was about the amount he had managed to earn through his drug trafficking activities.

Although Hernandez has repeatedly denied he was involved in the trafficking initiative, he was convicted in October 2019 on four counts, which include conspiring to import cocaine into the United States, using and carrying machine guns, conspiring to use and carry machine guns, and making false statements to federal agents. The charges carried a minimum mandatory sentence of 40 years.

In a release issued by the US Department of Justice, the agency noted that Hernandez began his trafficking career around 2004 by providing “sensitive law enforcement and military information” to a pair of Honduran drug traffickers. By the time he was elected to serve in Honduras’ congressional body, Hernandez was pulling “large sums of drug proceeds for” political campaigns.

Hernandez is reported to have ties to other high profile drug traffickers, including Mexican kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, who is currently serving a life sentence in a maximum security federal prison for drug trafficking, money laundering and murder.

“Exploiting a high-ranking position in government to wield the power of the state to support drug trafficking is as nefarious as it comes,” Wendy Woolcook, a federal special agent involved in the case, noted in a statement accompanying the DoJ release.

“The conviction and sentencing of Tony Hernandez is a reminder there is no position powerful enough to shield you from facing justice when you violate US drug laws by sending tons of cocaine to our country.”

On Monday, Arkansas’ legislature passed a bill preventing minors from receiving sex change surgery, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and other medical procedures. Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) hasn’t indicated yet if he will sign the bill into law.

Arkansas is the first state to pass such legislation. At least 17 other states are reportedly considering similar laws.

While groups like the ACLU and the American Academy of Pediatrics have condemned the law, supporters say that minors shouldn’t be able to make life-altering and often irreversible changes to their bodies.

Last week, Gov. Hutchinson signed into a law a measure preventing transgender women and girls from competing against biological females in school sports.

“This law simply says that female athletes should not have to compete in a sport against a student of the male sex when the sport is designed for women’s competition,” Hutchinson said in a statement. “This will help promote and maintain fairness in women’s sporting events.”

Obama Official Defends Amazon Against Worker Mistreatment Allegations

Former Obama administration official Jay Carney, now Amazon’s vice president of global corporate affairs, is defending Amazon against allegations by its employees in Alabama who claim the multinational corporation’s workplace policies amount to abuse.

Last week, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) visited Amazon workers in Bessemer, Alabama, whose votes are currently being tallied to decide if they will be the first Amazon workers to unionize in the United States.

In interviews with Sanders, Amazon workers at the Bessemer Amazon warehouse accused the corporation of surveilling them on the job, implementing harsh packaging quotas, ignoring workplace injuries, and refusing to allow workers to use the warehouse’s elevators.

“These people in the name of convenience getting shit dropped at our door are being used and abused because it’s peak season,” rapper Killer Mike said at a rally.

One Amazon worker, 51-year-old Linda Burns, said Amazon is “treating us like robots rather than humans.” Burns said she has run out of paid sick leave despite having tendinitis.

In response, Carney — who started working in an executive role at Amazon soon after leaving the Obama administration in 2014 — defended Amazon’s workplace policies in a post online.

With all due respect, Senator [Bernie Sanders], you’re wrong on this,” Carney wrote. “We treat our employees with dignity and respect. We offer a $15 min wage, health care from day one, and a safe, inclusive workplace.”

Americans by a majority support Amazon workers unionizing. A February survey of nearly 1,200 likely U.S. voters found that 69 percent support Amazon workers unionizing — including 69 percent of swing voters, 55 percent of Republicans, and 81 percent of Democrats.

The clash between Carney and Sanders comes after Amazon spokespeople responded to statements made by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) where she noted the corporation’s use of tax loopholes “to pay close to nothing in taxes.”

In the midst of economic lockdowns that have crippled small and medium-sized businesses, Amazon has profited billions and made 2020 the corporation’s most profitable year. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, similarly, boosted his fortune by 60 percent since March 2020.

Despite Amazon’s broad corporate power in the market, the corporation has skated by for years without paying federal income taxes. In 2020, the corporation paid federal income taxes for the first time since 2016. The amount paid by Amazon was just $162 million last year, a fraction of its 2019 $13.9 billion pre-tax reported income. For context, Amazon paid in federal income taxes just 1.2% of its pre-tax reported income last year.

The Bessemer unionization vote is expected to conclude sometime in the coming week. Since the effort began, union representatives say there have been more than 1,000 Amazon workers who have inquired about unionizing.

US, 13 Nations Question the Integrity of WHO-China Study on CCP Virus Origin

The United States on Tuesday joined more than a dozen other nations to express shared concerns about a World Health Organization (WHO) study into the origins of the CCP virus, pointing to the report’s delay and lack of access to crucial data.

“Together, we support a transparent and independent analysis and evaluation, free from interference and undue influence, of the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic,” reads the statement signed by the governments of Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, South Korea, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

“In this regard, we join in expressing shared concerns regarding the recent WHO-convened study in China,” the statement continued, acknowledging the importance of the international mission into the Chinese megalopolis of Wuhan, where the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus first emerged, but also emphasizing that the study was “significantly delayed” and lacked access to “complete, original data and samples.”

The Chinese communist regime, although wasn’t directly mentioned in the joint statement, has been criticized for deliberately holding back the truth about the virus and allowing it to turn into a global crisis. Beijing for months rejected calls for an international probe and it wasn’t until this January that a WHO-led team of foreign experts was allowed to conduct a 2-week study in Wuhan and exchange information with their Chinese counterparts.

The 10-member team was met with obstructions after their arrival. Two members were denied entry into China due to visa issues, which Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying attributed to a “misunderstanding.” Another team member, Australian microbiologist Dominic Dwyer, revealed that they had requested raw patient data on 174 cases identified by the Chinese health authority in December 2019 around Wuhan’s wildlife market, as well as other potential earlier cases, but were only provided with a summary.

Meanwhile, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has agreed that the probe was “not extensive enough” and the experts had struggled to get their hands on key information during their stay in China.

The WHO report, while not making any firm conclusions, rated the theory that the CCP virus escaped from a lab as “extremely unlikely,” and the theory that the virus jumping from bats to humans via an intermediary animal as “most likely.”

“I welcome the recommendations for further research, including a full analysis of the trade in animals and products in markets across Wuhan, particularly those linked to early human cases,” Tedros said Tuesday.

“Although the team has concluded that a laboratory leak is the least likely hypothesis, this requires further investigation, potentially with additional missions involving specialist experts, which I am ready to deploy,” he added.

The House of Representatives has proposed legislation to impose background checks on all gun sales and transfers, but the initiative has not totally satisfied Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), who is an important vote in a Senate that is split 50/50 with 60 votes needed without the nullification of a filibuster or the tactic of reconciliation to circumvent the Senate Democrat’s vote shortfall.

“Background checks are important. I do believe that. But you can go too far on that ship pretty fast, too. I am for background checks. There is a caveat for handing down within the family and not requiring a background check,” Tester specified.

Even so, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Thursday he would bring up the legislation for a vote when the Senate returns April 12.

CBS parent company Viacom's stock has plummeted more than 50 percent in the past week, perhaps due to the underwhelming quality of its journalism.

Earlier this week, the company's paid streaming service, Paramount+, aired a special 60 Minutes segment on Chesa Boudin, the radical left-wing district attorney of crime-ravaged San Francisco.

Wesley Lowery, the former Washington Post employee best known for spending several minutes in jail after getting arrested in a McDonald's, conducted the interviews for the piece. The controversial journalist was part of a team that won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2016. Since leaving the Post in 2020, Lowery has become a prominent critic of objectivity in journalism, as well as an author who specializes in writing in the first person.

Lowery introduces Boudin as being "among a wave of progressive prosecutors who have been elected across the nation who are trying to turn protest into policy" by cracking down on law enforcement. Unlike most district attorneys, Lowery notes, Boudin's own life has been "directly touched by incarceration."

That's because Boudin's parents were members of the militant left-wing Weather Underground—an "activist group," as Lowery describes it; a terrorist group, according to the FBI—and were sent to prison for taking part in a 1981 armed robbery that left two police officers and a security guard dead and several others severely wounded. For all intents and purposes, Boudin is presented as someone who is intimately familiar with the unfairness of the American justice system.

Boudin's mother, Kathy Boudin, was released on parole in 2003 and is the co-director of the Center for Justice at Columbia University. His father, David Gilbert, is still serving a 75-year minimum sentence at a maximum security prison in New York. After his parents were incarcerated, Boudin was raised by Bill Ayers, the Weather Underground leader best known for his association with former president Barack Obama.

Other aspects of Boudin's radical ideology are left unmentioned, such as his fondness for left-wing authoritarianism. He has worked as a translator for Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chávez, for example, and even praised the dictator's controversial campaign to abolish term limits. Boudin's grandfather worked as an attorney for Fidel Castro.

Since Boudin's election in 2019, Lowery reports, "crime remains a potent wedge issue" in San Francisco, mostly due to the fact that the city's crime problem is out of control. Walgreens has closed multiple stores in San Francisco due to rampant shoplifting. Boudin's efforts to decrease the prison population, whether by releasing inmates early or by showing leniency to repeat offenders, have been criticized by police officers and city residents alike.

WASHINGTON (NewsNation Now) — Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, a prominent conservative in Congress and a close ally of former President Donald Trump, said Tuesday he is being investigated by the Justice Department over a former relationship but denied any criminal wrongdoing.

Gaetz, who represents parts of western Florida, told Axios that his lawyers were informed that he was the subject of an investigation “regarding sexual conduct with women” but that he was not a target of the probe. He denied that he ever had a relationship with any underage girls and said the allegations against him were “as searing as they are false.”

A subject is conventionally thought of as someone whose actions fall within the scope of a criminal investigation, whereas a target is someone whom prosecutors have gathered evidence linking to a crime. But during the course of an investigation, a subject can become a target.

Gaetz is under investigation by the Justice Department about a possible sexual relationship with a 17-year-old, according to a report out Tuesday from the New York Times.

According to the report, which cites three unnamed people briefed on the matter, Gaetz allegedly paid to have her travel with him, which would violate federal sex trafficking laws.

NewsNation has reached out to the Justice Department for independent confirmation of the New York Times report.

The investigation is reportedly part of a broader examination of Gaetz’s political ally, former Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg.

Greenberg was indicted on charges including sex trafficking of a child and stalking an opponent. A judge ordered the former tax collector back to jail earlier this month for violating the conditions of his release.

According to the report, senior Trump administration DOJ officials were notified of the investigation when it was opened during the final months of Trump’s presidency.

Currently no charges have been brought against Gaetz.

Gaetz responded on Twitter, calling the investigation “part of an elaborate scheme involving ‘false sex allegations’ by an unnamed former DOJ official to extort him and his family for $25 million.”

He said he is cooperating with federal authorities in the matter.

I demand the DOJ immediately release the tapes, made at their direction, which implicate their former colleague in crimes against me based on false allegations.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier — The New York Times published a hit piece on popular Trump-supporter Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) saying the Florida Congressman was under investigation for dating a 17-year-old girl.

Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida and a close ally of former President Donald J. Trump, is being investigated by the Justice Department over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him, according to three people briefed on the matter.

Investigators are examining whether Mr. Gaetz violated federal sex trafficking laws, the people said. A variety of federal statutes make it illegal to induce someone under 18 to travel over state lines to engage in sex in exchange for money or something of value. The Justice Department regularly prosecutes such cases, and offenders often receive severe sentences.

It was not clear how Mr. Gaetz met the girl, believed to be 17 at the time of encounters about two years ago that investigators are scrutinizing, according to two of the people.

The investigation was opened in the final months of the Trump administration under Attorney General William P. Barr, the two people said. Given Mr. Gaetz’s national profile, senior Justice Department officials in Washington — including some appointed by Mr. Trump — were notified of the investigation, the people said.

The Gateway Pundit spoke with a source close to Matt Gaetz who told us this report is completely false. Gaetz is not the target of the investigation. We were also told none of the women he was seeing were underage.

It’s not a surprise the left is after Gaetz since he is such an effective communicator and staunch Trump supporter.

Rep. Gaetz told Axios “the allegations were as searing as they are false.”

Honduran president's brother sentenced to life in prison in U.S. for drug trafficking

NEW YORK (Reuters) -Tony Hernandez, a former Honduran congressman and brother of the sitting president, was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years for drug trafficking by a U.S. judge on Tuesday.

Hernandez, 42, was convicted on the drug charges and related weapons charges in October 2019. Hernandez will also be forced to pay $138.5 million in forfeiture, which prosecutors in their sentencing memo here wrote was "blood money" from drug trafficking.

“This is state-sponsored drug trafficking and this is exactly the type of conduct the government should be targeting, because of the impact it has on Honduras,” U.S. prosecutor Matthew Laroche said. “Honduras is one of the principal drug transhipment places in the world and one of the most violent places in the world.”

Laroche went on to say that the “depth of corruption” set Hernandez’s case apart.

“He secured protection from investigation, arrest and extradition by paying massive bribes to politicians, like his brother, and like (former president) Porfirio Lobo Sosa,” Laroche said.

He said Hernandez had accepted millions in bribes, including $1 million from El Chapo Guzman, to funnel into the ruling National Party’s coffers for elections in 2009, 2013, and 2017 to benefit his brother, President Juan Orlando Hernandez.

President Hernandez has denied the allegations and he has not been charged with a crime.

“Based upon Tony Hernandez’ free choice to engage in a life of drug trafficking for 12 years, a sentence of life imprisonment is richly deserved,” U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel said in federal court in Manhattan.

Tony Hernandez’s lawyer Peter Brill said he plans to appeal.

In a statement, the Honduran government rejected assertions by U.S. prosecutors that it was a state that fostered drug trafficking.

“We regret that these sentences have as a fundamental pillar, as a cornerstone, the evidently false statements of drug traffickers, who in order to seek benefits for themselves and their families in the United States, they go and lie,” the statement said.

Court filings laid out that in addition to corrupting institutions to transport at least 185,000 kilograms of cocaine to the United States, Tony Hernandez commanded members of Honduran security forces, controlled drug laboratories, sold machine guns and ammunition, some from the military, to drug traffickers, and helped cause two murders.

President Hernandez has often represented himself as tough on drugs, acting as an ally to the United States in immigration and anti-narcotics operations.

The allegations could complicate the efforts of the new U.S. administration of President Joe Biden to address the causes of migration from Central America by investing $4 billion in the region, including Honduras.

In an indictment in a case earlier this month against now-convicted Honduran drug trafficker Geovanny Fuentes Ramirez, prosecutors said that Hernandez, who has been president since 2014, used Honduran law enforcement and military officials to protect drug traffickers.

U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly has ordered the Islamic Republic of Iran to pay $1.457 billion in damages to the family of former Florida FBI Agent Robert Levinson, who was kidnapped by Iranian officials in 2007 and apparently died in captivity.

He was the longest held civilian hostage in American history when his family reported his death earlier this year.

The judge’s order, signed late last week, orders the Iranian government to pay Levinson, his wife, Christine, and their seven children a total of $1.457 billion in compensatory and punitive damages as punishment for “outrageous behavior” and to deter such conduct in the future.
