The Third Tunnel of Aggression (Korean: 제3땅굴) (Third Infiltration Tunnel or 3rd Tunnel) is one of four known tunnels under the border between North Korea and South Korea, extending south of Panmunjom.

Since 15 November 1974, South Korea has discovered four tunnels crossing the DMZ that had been dug by North Korea. The orientation of the blasting lines within each tunnel indicated they were dug by North Korea. North Korea claimed that the tunnels were for coal mining; however, no coal was found in the tunnels, which were dug through granite. Some of the tunnel walls were painted black to give the appearance of anthracite.[25

The tunnels are believed to have been planned as a military invasion route by North Korea. They run in a north–south direction and do not have branches. Following each discovery, engineering within the tunnels has become progressively more advanced. For example, the third tunnel sloped slightly upwards as it progressed southward, to prevent water stagnation. Today, visitors from the south may visit the second, third and fourth tunnels through guided tours.[26]

First tunnel

The first of the tunnels was discovered on 20 November 1974, by a South Korean Army patrol, noticing steam rising from the ground. The initial discovery was met with automatic fire from North Korean soldiers. Five days later, during a subsequent exploration of this tunnel, US Navy Commander Robert M. Ballinger and ROK Marine Corps Major Kim Hah-chul were killed in the tunnel by a North Korean explosive device. The blast also wounded five Americans and one South Korean from the United Nations Command.

The tunnel, which was about 0.9 by 1.2 m (3 by 4 ft), extended more than 1 km (1,100 yd) beyond the MDL into South Korea. The tunnel was reinforced with concrete slabs and had electric power and lighting. There were weapon storage and sleeping areas. A narrow-gauge railway with carts had also been installed. Estimates based on the tunnel's size suggest it would have allowed considerable numbers of soldiers to pass through it.[27]

Second tunnel

The second tunnel was discovered on 19 March 1975. It is of similar length to the first tunnel. It is located between 50 and 160 m (160 and 520 ft) below ground, but is larger than the first, approximately 2 by 2 m (7 by 7 feet).

Third tunnel

Main article: Third Tunnel of Aggression

The third tunnel was discovered on 17 October 1978. Unlike the previous two, the third tunnel was discovered following a tip from a North Korean defector. This tunnel is about 1,600 m (5,200 ft) long and about 73 m (240 ft) below ground.[28] Foreign visitors touring the South Korean DMZ may view inside this tunnel using a sloped access shaft.

Fourth tunnel

A fourth tunnel was discovered on 3 March 1990, north of Haean town in the former Punchbowl battlefield. The tunnel's dimensions are 2 by 2 m (7 by 7 feet), and it is 145 metres (476 ft) deep. The method of construction is almost identical in structure to the second and the third tunnels.[29]

-PASCO – Police arrested Travis Metcalf, 44, of Pasco, after they allegedly found thousands of images of children being raped in his email account. During the investigation, Metcalf allegedly admitted to having an addiction to child pornography and often fantasized about raping children.

-Pasco police say the investigation into Metcalf began when a good samaritan found a phone laying on the ground. The person called police about the phone. An officer who responded searched the phone and found images of what appeared to be child pornography.

-Detectives conducted a search of the phone and allegedly found over 150 pictures and videos of child pornography. Detectives also searched an email account attached to the phone and found over 3,000 photos and videos of minors engaged in sexual acts. Police say some of the images show children younger than five-years-old.

-Officers were able to trace the phone back to Metcalf. Police say Metcalf is homeless and was located at a homeless encampment on February 4.

-During an interview with police, Metcalf allegedly admitted to owning the phone and the email account. A judge read more disturbing details of probable cause during Metcalf's court appearance. Metcalf allegedly told police that he was addicted to pornography and child pornography. Metcalf also allegedly admitted that he often fantasized about raping children.

-Given the disturbing nature of the potential crimes, a judge set bail at $20,000.

-Metcalf is due back in court next week.

The first reaction that overwhelmed many people in America and the world when they saw Trump boarding the AF1 was one of frustration and delusion.

Several people thought (and many still think it), that the US President has surrendered in some way.

In fact, people have thought instead that Donald Trump has only been a “man of the system” since the beginning and that the globalist élite chose him as a containment wall to avoid any kind of real change.

In this moment, there are three main theories regarding Trump’s role in his administration. The first theory is that Trump has been a gatekeeper, a false opposition created by the system itself as was done in Italy by the Five Stars Movement and Salvini’s League.

The second theory is that Trump has surrendered to and cut a deal with globalism, which has been relentlessly persecuting him since the beginning of his campaign.

The third theory is that Trump has set up the deep state and conceived a trap even more lethal and sophisticated than anyone could imagine.

Let us take into consideration the first option before proceeding.

Those who support this theory consider Trump to be a man of the deep state.

However, if someone looks at what has happened in the last four years, he or she could easily discard this option.

The war waged against Trump by the deep state is simply unprecedented in US history.

It began even before Trump got into the White House, when in 2016 the former President Obama gave a green light to the illegal espionage against the Republican candidate in order to falsely depict him as a Russian stooge.

That was the conception of the Russiagate hoax, which was later more appropriately defined as Obamagate or Spygate.

Spygate was the biggest operation of political sabotage ever perpetrated by the deep state against a political candidate.

Former Attorney General William Barr correctly called it as the biggest coup in the US history.

As was mentioned in the previous articles of this blog, Italy played a very important role in this plot, when the Italian government (headed first by Renzi and then by Gentiloni) had allegedly authorized the Italian secret services to spy on Donald Trump.

However, the war against Trump was not limited to this scandal. For four years, the establishment sought to overthrow his presidency in every way imaginable.

Nancy Pelosi, Democrat and Speaker of the US House of Representatives, gave a green light to Trump’s impeachment, which was completely unsubstantiated and brazenly unconstitutional. The impeachment failed to pass in the Senate.

Not only was the war against Trump fought on the political side, but also the system tried to physically remove the President.

By last August, there were at least two possible attempts against Trump’s life. The first attempt was against the helicopter squad that protected the President. An unknown sniper fired a shot against one of the helicopters and hurt a military soldier.

The second attempt was via a drone, which unexplainably reached the AF1 and almost hit it.

And so the war went on. In November, the deep state perpetrated the biggest electoral fraud in US history and probably in world history. This past January, rather than foiling the fraud, the US congress illegally ratified the election.

Haiti's President Says "Attempted Coup D'Etat" Foiled; 23 Arrested

AFP News Agency reports Haitian authorities arrested more than 20 people accused of trying to murder President Jovenel Moise and overthrow the government.

The "attempted coup d'etat", according to justice minister Rockefeller Vincent, included some high-ranking officials. Authorities said they arrested a top judge and national police officers, along with seizing a cache of weapons.

Moise thanked his head of security for foiling the coup d'etat. He said, "the goal of these people was to make an attempt on my life - that plan was aborted."

Moise alleged the plot to overthrow the government began late last year but did not provide further details or the names of the people who were arrested. The president has been governing the Caribbean country for more than one year without checks and balances on his power.

Fort Hood Restricts Base Access After Shooting Incident

Army officials at Fort Hood, Texas tightened the base's gate security to restrict access after an on-base shooting early Saturday morning.

No one was injured in the shooting, but Fort Hood has suspended its Trusted Traveler Program that allowed military personnel with valid military identification to "escort or vouch for adult passengers … in their vehicle," according to a Fort Hood news release.

The shooting occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. in a parking lot on base, another news release states.

The shooter is suspected to be a former soldier, who was "socializing with current soldiers when he fired a pistol," according to the release.

"The suspect was immediately disarmed and apprehended without further incident," according to the release that added that the suspect is now in military police custody. "This was an isolated and rapidly resolved incident."

Fort Hood officials say there is "no ongoing threat," but moved Saturday evening to restrict access to the base, according to the release.

Fort Hood's suspension of its Trusted Traveler Program comes one day after officials at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland imposed similar access restrictions after a male with outstanding arrest warrants trespassed onto the base and boarded an Air Force C-40 Clipper aircraft before being apprehended.

"In recent weeks, the III Corps commanding general initiated a review of installation access authorization – entering Fort Hood is a privilege not a right," Fort Hood spokesman Col. Myles Caggins III told Military.com in a statement. "Also, a review of post access policy for former soldiers who were separated for misconduct is underway. Our priority is the safety and security of the soldiers, families, civilians, and community members who work, live, and play at Fort Hood."

Fort Hood became the subject of national news coverage last year following the disappearance and death of Spc. Vanessa Guillen, a 3rd Cavalry Regiment soldier who was murdered by a fellow unit member.

Guillen, along with the deaths of other Fort Hood soldiers, prompted then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy to order an independent review of the command climate at Hood, which found that the leadership at the base had allowed a culture of sexual harassment and assault to fester. As a result, the Army fired or suspended 14 leaders at the base.

The Army also created a special task force to implement the independent review's 70 recommendations, some of them focused on Hood and others for the entire Army. The task force briefed the Senate Armed Services Committee in a close-door meeting on Thursday.

"It's going to take real leadership to fix the problems at Fort Hood and throughout the Army," committee Chairman Jack Reed, D-R.I., and ranking member Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., said in a joint statement following the hearing.

"What we heard today gives us hope but hope alone isn't enough. We look forward to working with the task force and leadership at DoD to solve these troubling issues once and for all."

An Indian nationalist group burned images of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece, Meena Harris, and left-wing environmental activist Greta Thunberg, after the two individuals endorsed the ongoing Soros-backed protest movement in India.

The nationalist United Hindu Front, which supports the government of India, burned images of Harris and Thunberg after they vocally promoted the violent protest movement on Twitter.

Harris had falsely claimed “democracy is under assault” in India, after the democratically-elected conservative government of India attempted to pass agricultural reform legislation.

“Weird to see a photo of yourself burned by an extremist mob,” wrote Harris, who is descended from Indians. “Imagine what they would do if we lived in India.”

She compared the agricultural bill to the storming of the Capitol on January 6, and described the two situations as “related”, before claiming that there was “paramilitary violence” in India against left-wing, anti-government protesters.

On her part, Thunberg stated that she stands “in solidarity” with the protests, which have devolved into rioting in recent weeks.

She also shared a “toolkit”, which appeared to contain canned talking points that had been distributed to influential Twitter personalities on the situation in India. The exposure of this toolkit, which she initially deleted and then reposted an edited version of, provoked a heavy backlash from patriotic Indians, including an investigation by Indian authorities into its origin.

Millionaire celebrities like filmmaker Guy Ritchie have taken advantage of the UK taxpayer-funded job retention programme, the Sun has reported, sparking a heated debate on Twitter on whether they should be allowed to do so.

Ritchie, a renowned filmmaker, whose reported net worth amounts to more than £100 million ($137.3 million), has used the state-run Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to pay 19 workers of his Fatboy Pub Company, the Sun on Sunday reported, citing government documents it obtained.

The filmmaker’s firm which was on the government furlough programme list by December manages his Lore of the Land pub in central London. It previously reportedly posted losses of £457,000 ($627,700) while saying in October 2020 that its leadership will seek “all available government assistance” to keep the business afloat during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ritchie, however, is neither the only nor the wealthiest public figure to make use of London’s generosity. The list obtained by the Sun as part of its “probe” into the issue also contains the names of celebrity chefs Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay, who also used the scheme to support their restaurant businesses. Oliver’s estimated wealth accounts for £240 million ($329.6 million), according to the Sun, but this fact didn't stop him from accepting the money from the government.

Neither did it stop India’s billionaire steel magnate, Lakshmi Mittal, who also received support for his company ArcelorMittal despite his reported net worth amounting to a whopping £6.78 billion ($9.31 billion).

ArcelorMittal said that “the steel industry was hit hard by Covid” and that it was “very grateful to many governments for providing financial support.” Most recently, the company, which is one of the biggest steel producers, announced it was no longer using the UK government’s support scheme.

Streets in an Indonesia village were flooded blood-red on the weekend, after flood waters leached dye from a local factory.

Images of the water, which resembled some kind of biblical sign, spread fast on the internet, with the source of the strange waters traced to a batik factory in the Indonesian village of Jenggot.

"I am so afraid if this photo gets into the bad hands of hoax spreaders," said a Twitter user Ayah E Arek-Arek. "Fear mongering narratives about signs that it is the end of the world, bloody rain, etc."

Jenggot is located just south of Pekalongan, a city known for manufacturing batik, which involves water-based dyes to depict patterns and drawings.

The head of Pekalongan disaster relief, Dimas Arga Yudha, confirmed the photos being circulated on social media were indeed real.

"The red flood is due to the batik dye, which has been hit by the flood. It will disappear when it mixes with rain after a while," he said.

Areas around Pekalongan have been struck by strange coloured waters before.

Bright green waters flooded another village last month, according to Reuters.

Indonesia has been struck by heavy rains and flooding this year.

In January tens of thousands of people were evacuated and more than a dozen have been killed in flooding on Indonesia's Borneo island.

Monarch dispatched private solicitor to secure exemption from transparency law

The Queen successfully lobbied the government to change a draft law in order to conceal her “embarrassing” private wealth from the public, according to documents discovered by the Guardian.

A series of government memos unearthed in the National Archives reveal that Elizabeth Windsor’s private lawyer put pressure on ministers to alter proposed legislation to prevent her shareholdings from being disclosed to the public.

Following the Queen’s intervention, the government inserted a clause into the law granting itself the power to exempt companies used by “heads of state” from new transparency measures.

The arrangement, which was concocted in the 1970s, was used in effect to create a state-backed shell corporation which is understood to have placed a veil of secrecy over the Queen’s private shareholdings and investments until at least 2011.

The true scale of her wealth has never been disclosed, though it has been estimated to run into the hundreds of millions of pounds.

Evidence of the monarch’s lobbying of ministers was uncovered by a Guardian investigation into the royal family’s use of an arcane parliamentary procedure, known as Queen’s consent, to secretly influence the formation of British laws.

Unlike the better-known procedure of royal assent, a formality that marks the moment when a bill becomes law, Queen’s consent must be sought before legislation can be approved by parliament.

It requires ministers to alert the Queen when legislation might affect either the royal prerogative or the private interests of the crown.

The website of the royal family describes it as “a long established convention” and constitutional scholars have tended to regard consent as an opaque but harmless example of the pageantry that surrounds the monarchy.

But documents unearthed in the National Archives, which the Guardian is publishing this week, suggest that the consent process, which gives the Queen and her lawyers advance sight of bills coming into parliament, has enabled her to secretly lobby for legislative changes.

Thomas Adams, a specialist in constitutional law at Oxford University who reviewed the new documents, said they revealed “the kind of influence over legislation that lobbyists would only dream of”. The mere existence of the consent procedure, he said, appeared to have given the monarch “substantial influence” over draft laws that could affect her.

“The recession we had was 5x the average since WWII but it occurred in 25% of the time,” Druckenmiller said adding that “more bizarrely in a year when 11 million more people were unemployed, we had the largest increase in personal income in 20yrs during an economic downturn, due to massive policy support. The CARES Act added trillions in fiscal stimulus. How big was it? In three months in 2020 we increased the deficit more than the past 5 recessions combined (1973, 1975, 1982, the early 90s', the dot com bust and the GFC). The Fed in 6 weeks bought more treasuries than in 10yrs under Bernanke/Yellen. Corporate borrowing, which almost always goes down in a recession, which had already increased from $6trln to $10trln going into the crisis due to the Fed’s free-money policies, went up $400bln. Putting that in perspective, it went down by $500bn during the GFC.”

"So we had this massive increase in liquidity and stimulus which is the background and all of this stimulus has flown into financial markets, into commodities, into financial interests so it's a bizarre background."

"The juxtaposition of the various policy responses is somewhat breathtaking. Since 2018, M2 in the US has grown 25% more than nominal GDP; a 25% increase in liquidity. In China M2 to nominal GDP is where it was 3 years ago. So China hasn't borrowed anything from their future and we've had a massive liquidity input and frankly very little investment. It's primarily been transfer payments and Fed Stimulus. We've done a horrific job with the virus. The Chinese and Asia in general they've pretty much defeat the virus."

Review: The Weeknd, though underwhelming, made history with first Super Bowl halftime show held during a pandemic

How many ways did chart-topping vocal star The Weeknd make history with his Super Bowl halftime show Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, despite delivering a visually arresting but musically tepid performance?

Let’s tally up the score.

The mustachioed singer, songwriter and producer — real name: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye — became the first Canadian artist to headline the big game’s halftime show. (Fellow Canadian Shania Twain performed at the 2003 Super Bowl, which was held at San Diego’s now defunct Qualcomm Stadium, but she was part of a halftime show lineup that included Sting and No Doubt, not a solo headliner.)

At 30, The Weeknd is the youngest male solo artist to headline — as opposed to make a guest appearance — a Super Bowl halftime show. (Lady Gaga was also 30 when she headlined the 2017 Super Bowl at Houston’s NRG Stadium.)

The Weeknd is also the first artist to headline the Super Bowl whose parents are Ethiopian immigrants — and who, by extension, is fluent in Amharic, the principal native tongue of his mother and father’s homeland.

He is the first halftime show headliner whose songs often focus on self-medicating and, not infrequently, self-destruction. His barely 14-minute performance Sunday included two of those numbers, “The Hills” and the nominal love song “Can’t Feel My Face,” albeit in extremely abbreviated versions.

But the biggest first, sadly, is that The Weeknd headlined the only Super Bowl in the event’s 56-year history to be held during a global pandemic. COVID-19 has shuttered concerts and live music events nearly everywhere, except Florida, whose state government has for the most part reacted to the pandemic in what might kindly be described as a largely laissez faire approach.

Even so, safety concerns led to The Weeknd’s elaborately constructed and lit stage to be set up in the stands of the stadium, as opposed to on the field, and prompted The Weeknd to spend what he told media members was $7 million of his own money to beef up the production. (A number of music industry reports suggest that at least some of those millions were in fact provided by his record company.)

Coronavirus pandemic protocols also limited attendance in the 65,000-plus capacity stadium to 22,000. About 7,500 of those were vaccinated healthcare workers, who were given free tickets by the NFL. Audience cheers could be heard, but the cameras rarely showed even a glimpse of the crowd.

The extraordinary circumstances were as undeniable as The Weeknd’s meh of a performance, which was visually sleek, slickly delivered and largely devoid of musical (as opposed to actual) fireworks, let alone the kind of “wow” moments delivered by such past Super Bowl headliners as Prince, Beyoncé and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

The Weeknd had promised last week at a press conference that his performance would be “completely live.” Alas, his pleasant but decidedly drama-free vocals on Sunday sounded so processed for much of his set that it was questionable exactly what he meant by “live.”

His performance took place mostly in front of a mock, multi-layered cityscape. It housed a well-choreographed choir and a string section, whose members may or may not have been miming their parts (not that it matters much at the Super Bowl). By rushing through eight songs in 13 minutes — about par for a halftime show — The Weeknd was unable to duplicate the moody dynamic tension that is a hallmark of his carefully produced studio albums.

His stage movements were largely understated, not a good look at an event that thrives on kinetic action. That came with his climactic “Blinding Lights,” which found him bounding across the stadium’s field with hundreds of lookalike dancers, each wearing identical red and black ready-for-the-Weeknd suits with bandaged heads — a nod to his hugely popular “Blinding Lights” video.

It was the eye-popping moment his halftime show cried out for. But it was too little, too late — a missed opportunity in a performance that found its star coasting when he should have been soaring.

Russia has recently welcomed an honored guest. The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, went to Moscow for the first time in three years. In Russia, he held negotiations with a number of high-ranked business representatives and politicians, including the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov. Leaving Moscow, he announced the need to preserve diplomatic ties between the parties. But after returning to the EU, Borrell sharply changed his rhetoric, declaring potential sanctions and accusations against Russia. This inconsistency of European politics once again demonstrates the real intentions of those behind the diplomacy of the collective West towards Moscow.

Borrell’s visit to Moscow took place from 4-6 February. The main topics were the sentence to prison of Alexei Navalny and the declaration of some European diplomats persona non grata after they took part in unauthorized protests.

The Borrell’s visit ended on a rather positive note. At a press conference after the negotiations with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, he said that so far none of the EU countries had submitted proposals for sanctions against Russia in response to the sentence to Navalny and the dispersed unauthorized protests.

Despite the relations between the two sides being at the lowest possible level, the head of European diplomacy called for keeping diplomatic channels open “not only for de-escalating crises or incidents, but also for direct exchange of views, transmission of clear and frank messages, especially when relations are far from satisfactory. “

However, after returning to Europe, Borrell’s optimism disappeared. His assessment of the results of his visit to Moscow was strikingly different from what he said back in Russia.

Blaming Moscow for the current misunderstand, he said that “Russia is increasingly separating from Europe.” “The Russian authorities did not want to take this opportunity for a more constructive dialogue with the EU. This is regrettable and we have to think about the consequences, ” he wrote.

Borrell also added that the heads of the European foreign ministries at the next meeting on February 22 might decide to expand sanctions against Russia for violation of human rights.

His statements appear to have had a shocking effect on the Russian Foreign Ministry, which immediately commented on Borrell’s abrupt change of point of view.

“We were surprised to get acquainted with Borrell’s assessments of the results of the visit, they contrast strongly with his statements given at a press conference in Moscow,” the ministry said.

Apparently, the highly respected EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy has no freedom to independently choose a political course.It seems that after arriving in Brussels, he was explained how the meeting with the Russians was supposed to be, and what conclusions he had to draw at its end.

“Perhaps, upon arrival in Brussels, the head of European diplomacy was explained what accents he had to do, but then this only confirms how and by whom the EU policy is actually formed,” the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.

Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya, which was proclaimed the ‘winner’ of the presidential election in Belarus by NATO member states, but fled the country and is now hiding in Lithuania, is already promoting Navalny’s wife, Yulia, as the ‘leader’ of the ‘Russian opposition’.

It is interesting to note that Svetlana and Yulia have a lot of things in common. Their husbands are detained (Navalny recently got over 2.5 years for the violations of the term of his suspended sentence over corruption). They both receive direct support from the official enemies of their countries. They both promote steps that, in the event of success, will lead to the destabilization and dismantling of the countries of their origin. And they both call for more sanctions against the countries of their origin, for the ‘good of their nations’ for sure (at least according to their official positions).

In an interview with France Presse, Tsikhanouskaya turned to the wife of Navalny saying that she should take her husband’s place.

“When they throw our men behind bars for agitation and a desire to improve life in our countries, we, the wives, can only take their place and support them,” Tsikhanouskaya said.

This statement goes fully in the framework of the MSM propaganda campaign that is now making a ‘new leader’ of the Russian opposition from Navalny’s wife. Therefore, soon, we will see the new former leader of the hardcore pro-Western, neo-liberal clique interested in the destruction of Russia that prefers to call itself ‘non-system opposition’.

The Navalny team and its masters already used the support from MSM, Big Tech and their own influence network to use children in anti-government protests in Russia. So, it will be useful for them to get a ‘fresher face’ to lead the protest, especially if this is a woman. Taking into account the modern trends in the West, the female face to formally lead the push to destroy Russia is a pretty ordinary move.

Myanmar military orders saw data network temporarily halted

The directive lasted a day. Meanwhile, access to Twitter and Instagram in the country remains blocked off, until further notice.

Telenor Myanmar said it was ordered by the Myanmar Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) to temporarily shut down its data network in Myanmar on Saturday, while voice and SMS services remained open.

"In the directive, the MoTC cites legal basis in Myanmar's Telecommunication Law, and references circulation of fake news, stability of the nation and interest of the public as basis for the order," Telenor said in a statement.

"Telenor Myanmar, as a local company, is bound by local law and needs to handle this irregular and difficult situation."

Despite following the orders, the telco giant expressed their "deep concern".

"We have emphasised to the authorities that access to telecom services should be maintained at all times, especially during times of conflict, to ensure people's basic right to freedom of expression and access to information. We deeply regret the impact the shutdown has on the people in Myanmar," the company said.

However, data networks that were shut down was restored by Sunday. Telenor said it was "following instruction from the MoTC".

The halting of data network services over the weekend followed a directive that was issued by the MoTC on Friday to block social media platforms Twitter and Instagram, until further notice, according to Telenor.

"Customers in Myanmar trying to access the affected services on web will be directed to a landing page, which states that the site cannot be reached due to the directive by MoTC," Telenor said.

Telenor added the MoTC also decided to "temporarily" block access to Facebook in the country last week. Users began turning to the social media platform to protest against the military coup.

Meanwhile, Twitter has expressed concern regarding the situation.

"We're deeply concerned about the order to block Internet services in Myanmar. It undermines the public conversation and the rights of people to make their voices heard. The Open Internet is increasingly under threat around the world. We will continue to advocate to end destructive government-led shutdowns," a Twitter spokesperson told ZDNet.

A similar sentiment was echoed by Facebook.

"We are extremely concerned by orders to shut down the internet in Myanmar and we strongly urge the authorities to order the unblocking of all social media services. At this critical time, the people of Myanmar need access to important information and to be able to communicate with their loved ones," Facebook APAC Emerging Countries director of public policy Rafael Frankel said.

A worrisome report traces decades of widespread child sex abuse in the Archdiocese of Cologne, Germany at the hands of greedy nuns supported by perverted priests. The story came to light because of a lawsuit that alleged that the Order of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer was selling or loaning orphaned boys from their boarding houses for weeks at a time in a disgusting rape trade to predatory priests and business people.

According to the men involved in the lawsuit, as boys, they were not put for adoption or sent to foster care because selling them to sick rape trade filled the sisters’ coffers with their “convent of horrors.” The report claims that 175 people majority of whom were boys from the ages of 8 to 14, were abused for more than two decades. Still, it failed to blame the nuns directly, instead of says it was“systematic”management errors and “leniency” enabling the abuse to continue. The report also finds that some boys were even groomed to be sex slaves to perverts.

The lawsuit also surveyed religious orders and found that 1,412 people who lived in or frequented convents, parishes, and monasteries as children, teenagers, and wardwere also abused by at least 654 monks and nunsand other members of the orders s. Around 80 per cent of the victims were male, and 20 per cent female. The survey also found that 80 per cent of the abusers are now dead, and 37 had left the priesthood or religious order.

For several years, the alleged abuse went on. One of the males claimed that even after leaving the convent, the nuns frequently visited their college dorms to drug him and deliver him to the predators’ apartments. Even after multiple requests, there was no comment from Order of Sisters of the Divine Redeemer about the allegations.

The lawsuit was first reported by Deutsche Welle last year. 63-year-old victim Karl Haucke leads it along with 15 other former orphans demanding that the Archdiocese of Cologne conducts a full investigation. This investigation finally concludes in January 2021, but the details of that investigative report were horrifying that Archbishop Reiner Maria Woelki denied public access to the report.Any journalists who wish to see the report need to sign confidentiality agreements and not publish its contents.In January, eight German journalists walked out of a press conference after denying access to the church’s investigation report unless they agree not to publish its contents.

According to Haucke, he was abused at least once a week by usually more than one priest between 11 and 14. He calls the refusal of the report’s release in January “scandalous” and added that denying the journalists the right to publish the story felt “like being abused all over again.”

Due to the prevailing lawsuit, several lawyers received access to the 560-page report have shared parts of it with news outlets. Various German businessmen and complicit clergy were named in the report as they “rented” the young boys from nuns in a convent in Speyer, Germany between the 1960s and 1970s. KÖLN Germany (The Daily Beast) – A withheld report from public records narrates a horrific story of rape and sexual abuse against young orphan boys, facilitated by nuns belonging to the Catholic Archdiocese of Cologne in Germany, according to the Daily Beast.

The investigation’s findings, which concluded last month and stemmed from a lawsuit brought against the archdiocese by victims, have not been publicly released. Still, the contents of the report are said to have been leaked to several media outlets.

The Catholic Church investigation revealed that nuns “rented” 175 orphaned children to be sexually abused by businessmen and priests.

These events occurred during the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the abusers are already dead and will not answer for their crimes.

The Archdiocese of Cologne report was made after more than 15 victims demanded an investigation into sexual abuse and violence in Germany’s Catholic Church.

The 560-page report has been shared by several international media outlets, including The Daily Beast. Several prominent businessmen and clergymen are named, who “rented” orphans to nuns at a convent in Speyer.

Between 8 and 14 years of age, the children were forced to participate in orgies and were raped by several men. When they returned to the convent, they were punished by the nuns. The reason? Their clothes were wrinkled or because they were stained with semen.

The Archdiocese of Cologne told The Daily Beast that the report was not published that it did not fully explain the methodology of the investigation.

However, Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesmann, who now heads the archdiocese, said the abuse report was “so brutal” that it would be too shocking to make public.

That’s why the victims have sued the church over the nuns’ actions of the Order of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer. They allege that the nuns would not allow them to be adopted and preferred to receive money to enable them to be raped.

The primary abusers reported in the story are now dead. Many of the victims have settled with the Catholic Church in Germany for financial compensation, which has prohibited them from joining the lawsuit.

The Archdiocese of Cologne plans to publish a new, revised report in March of this year on the case.

The GameStop saga shows some "equity" movements are more equal than others.

Stakeholder theory, the corporate version of social justice, attempts to install this hopelessly amorphous concept of "equity" in the business world. Equity, unlike equality, demands different treatment of individuals and different distribution of resources based on need, identity, and historical injustices. But now equity has evolved beyond a political buzzword, and finds growing support in calls for stakeholder capitalism. The animating impulse in big corporate boardrooms today requires cultivating an image of social responsibility. Under this theory business firms should entertain all kinds of noneconomic goals and outcomes. No longer may owners simply concern themselves with profit or loss, but instead must consider the broader societal implications of everything their business does. Whether corporate leaders concern themselves with social justice out of genuine desire or merely to avoid backlash is an open question, but the events of 2020 clearly changed the conversations in boardrooms.

Under the old conception, businesses have four primary elements, namely owners, managers, employees (or vendors), and customers. All four have skin in the game, which is to say their own money or income is involved. The notion of stakeholders inverts this paradigm and grants a degree of power over ostensibly private businesses to those who take no risks and provide no benefit. By undermining the suddenly old-fashioned idea of profit and loss as the guiding principle for business, stakeholder theory calls into question the very existence of millions of businesses big and small—in fact their grubby and narrow focus is simply to make money.

To suggest that the general public or society at large ought to be a de facto partner in any business, based on the interconnected nature of any economy, is to suggest an unlimited and wholesale attack on the concept of private ownership. It is patently antiproperty and implies collectivism by its very conceptual foundation. It insists everyone in society ought to have an interest in and some say over what ostensibly private firms do—and not only with respect to their profits, but even their business practices and mission. Stakeholder theory even creates a starring role for the earth itself, as the ultimate nonrenewable resource which is dubiously always in peril from business.

Societal ownership of business firms traditionally takes three prominent forms, specifically socialism, communism, and fascism. But in 2021 these terms fail to shock or alarm us as they once did. The constant use of attenuated language makes us almost immune to powerful words that ought to be used judiciously. Socialism is increasingly popular, while fascism is the pejorative increasingly aimed at market capitalism. We still have stock markets, we still have private owners, and we still have profits and losses. The equity revolution takes place within the form, as an evolution rather than a deviation.

Enter GameStop and its Reddit WallStreetBets bros, determined to prop up the fading retailer's stock price in the face of intense short-selling pressure by powerful and rich hedge funds. This uprising, whether motivated by greed, gamer culture, or sheer spite against perceived Wall Street fat cats, is as much imbued with notions of fairness and societal benefit as any protest movement. Yet suddenly the champions of stakeholder theory, like the predictably despicable Washington Post, find themselves singing a new tune about vulture capitalists, deciding that hedge fund short sellers are the good guys in the story.

A charter school in Utah has made a U-turn on the decision to allow families to “exercise their civil rights” and to opt children out of lessons relating to Black History Month, after facing a major backlash online.

“We regret that after receiving requests, an opt-out form was sent out concerning activities planned during this month of celebration,” Maria Montessori Academy’s board of directors announced on Sunday.

The school in North Ogden, which has a majority white student base according to the Utah State Board of Education, uses Black History Month to incorporate specific teachings about the history of black Americans in both social studies and history classes. After receiving a handful of complaints, last week the school sent families an opt-out letter offering everyone an option to “exercise their civil rights to not participate in Black History Month at the school.”

Stanford Law Professor Pamela Karlan is leaving her position on Facebook’s ‘oversight committee’ to join the civil rights division at the Department of Justice.

You may remember Karlan from her testimony at Trump’s first impeachment hearing in 2019.

Facebook oversight board member decamps for Biden DOJ

A law professor serving on Facebook’s independent oversight board is resigning her post to join the Justice Department’s civil rights division on Monday.

A notable transition: Pamela Karlan, a Stanford Law professor who was chosen as one of the group’s 20 original members, has been tapped to serve as principal deputy assistant attorney general in the civil rights division for the Biden administration, the board said.

“Pam Karlan’s legal and civil rights expertise played an important part in shaping the Board and we’re grateful for her contributions,” board spokesperson John Taylor said in a statement. “The Trustees and Board members congratulate Pam on her new role and wish her the very best.”

Trump’s Lawyer Previews Defense Strategy, Says Will Use Videos of Democrats During Trial

“I think you can count on that,” Bruce Castor said when asked if he’d use videos of Democrats like Maxine Waters during the trial. “If my eyes look a little red to the viewers, it’s because I’ve been looking at a lot of video.”

Last week, President Trump announced a new team of lawyers who would be presenting his defense during the Senate’s impeachment trial, which is scheduled to begin later this week.

In a statement released to the media, David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor Jr. were named as his attorneys in the trial. Castor, who is the lead attorney, is a former Solicitor General for Pennsylvania. Schoen, a civil rights lawyer and criminal defense attorney, has been practicing law for over three decades. Schoen is also one of the lawyers who represented Roger Stone.

The team filed a legal brief on Tuesday that gave a glimpse into what their case will look like once the trial starts on Tuesday. Their primary argument will be that the Senate trial is unconstitutional because Trump is no longer in office. Further, they will argue that Trump’s speech did not incite the Capitol rioters and that he had a First Amendment right to say what he did:

Texas base will be home to Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets, Rep. Kay Granger says

Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth is set to be the home of F-35 fighter jets, new cargo aircraft and an airborne medical transport, U.S. Rep. Kay Granger said Monday.

Twenty-six Lockheed Martin F-35s will replace the aging F-16s used by the 301st Fighter Wing squadron, Granger said during a press conference at the base. Having the F-35s in Fort Worth has been in the works since March 2020. The fighter jets are built at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, which is next to the base.

The 301st Fighter Wing squadron is expected to receive its first F-35 jet in the summer of 2024, according to a press release..
