The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said its agents arrested a group of 11 Iranians who illegally entered the United States.

According to a news release from the agency, agents saw the group near San Luis, Arizona, on a bridge.

Border Patrol agents then “determined the group had illegally crossed the international border into the United States. The group was arrested and taken to Yuma Station for processing,” according to the release. “The five females and six males are were [sic] all from Iran, a Special Interest Country.”

The agency said that Yuma Sector agents “regularly encounter people from all over the world,” including so-called “Special Interest Countries.”

“For the last two fiscal years, Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents have led the nation in apprehending illegal crossers from Iran. Yuma Sector agents apprehended eight Iranian nationals in [2020], compared to just 14 from all other border patrol sectors combined. So far in [2021], Yuma Sector agents have apprehend[ed] 14 nationals from Iran,” the agency said.

Other details about the case were not provided by the agency.

Last June, Border Patrol agents announced they arrested three Iranian nationals in Del Rio, Texas.

“Agents conducting line watch duties observed three individuals who had just crossed the border illegally,” the agency said. “This group consisted of a mother, father, and child who were later identified as Iranian nationals.”

It comes as President Joe Biden faces two lawsuits from Texas and Arizona over the administration’s recent executive actions.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich filed a suit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Feb. 3 after the agency released a memo on Jan. 20 that imposed a 100-day moratorium on some deportations.

“The 100-Day Pause on Deportations includes those charged with or convicted of a crime,” Brnovich said on Twitter. “Law enforcement officials have told our office they are concerned about whether released individuals are being tested for COVID-19.” The suit asks the U.S. District Court in Arizona to rule that the policy violates federal law.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton last month sued the Biden administration over the deportation freeze last week, and U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton on Jan. 26 issued a temporary restraining order that was sought by the attorney general’s office. That blocked Biden’s policy for two weeks ending in late February.

The White House failed “to provide any concrete, reasonable justification for a 100-day pause on deportations,” Judge Tipton wrote.

Human Rights Activists Urge Biden to Join Boycott of 2022 Beijing Olympics

A coalition of human rights advocates representing groups repressed by the Chinese Communist Party — including members of the Tibetan, Uyghur, Inner Mongolian, and Hong Kong communities — issued a call Thursday for the world to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, set to take place in Beijing.

The groups urged the government of the United States, in particular, to join the boycott, as the world’s leading nation, in the name of those currently suffering human rights atrocities at the hands of the government hosting the games.

Beijing, dominated by the ethnic Han Chinese majority, is implementing policies the administrations of both Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden have deemed genocidal against the Uyghur people, the majority of whom live in western Xinjiang, China. The Communist Party has built hundreds of concentration camps for Uyghur and other majority-Muslim communities in the region, systematically sterilized women in the community, and stands accused of harvesting bodies of political prisoners to sell their organs. A report published by the BBC this week, citing eyewitnesses and victims who went on the record, described extremely gruesome torture used against Uyghur women, particularly the implementation of systematic gang rape in the concentration camps and the rape of women using electric instruments as a form of electroshock torture.

The Communist Party has also implemented a labor camp policy in occupied Tibet, in addition to enforcing the use of the Han Mandarin language, which is not native to Tibet, and attempting to control the leadership of the majority religion there, Tibetan Buddhism. Similarly, Beijing has implemented a policy of language and cultural erasure in Inner Mongolia, which has triggered widespread protests and corresponding state violence.

In Hong Kong, the Communist Party illegally imposed a “national security” law last year that allows it to imprison political dissidents for a minimum of ten years if found guilty of crimes such as “subversion of state power.”

A coalition of 150 groups representing these communities and human rights activists generally issued an open call on Tuesday to boycott the Winter Olympics in Beijing to “ensure they are not used to embolden the Chinese government’s appalling rights abuses and crackdowns on dissent.”

Beijing hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008, which the groups note preceded the outrageous abuses now taking place in the country.

“The IOC [International Olympic Committee] refused to listen in 2008, defending its decision with claims that they would prove to be a catalyst for improved human rights,” the groups’ statement read. “As human rights experts predicted, this decision proved to be hugely misplaced; not only did China’s human rights record not improve, but violations increased substantially without rebuke.”

“Now, in 2021, we find ourselves back in the same position with the IOC who are refusing to act despite the clear evidence of genocide and widespread and worsening human rights failures,” the letter continued. Given the inaction on the part of Olympics officials, the group urged sovereign states to act, concluding, “anything less will be seen as an endorsement of the Chinese Communist Party’s authoritarian rule and blatant disregard for civil and human rights.”

The Globalists Are Gonna Need A Bigger Virus As Economic Fraud Is Exposed

It is a general rule that corrupt economies tend to operate on faith and not on fundamentals. And to be clear, it’s not so much about naive faith that the system is stable or functional. No, it’s more about the masses having faith that the corruption and instability will never be derailed. Most people are not as stupid as the establishment and central bankers think they are – Almost everyone knows the system is broken, they just refuse to consider the possibility that the fraud will be disrupted, or that it will be allowed to fail.

The old mantra “too big to fail” is a lie. NOTHING is too big to fail, and that includes the US economy, the dollar and the elaborate Kabuki theater that keeps them both afloat. All it takes is a single moment, an epiphany that the Ponzi scheme is unsustainable rather than unstoppable.

I’m reminded specifically of the inflationary crisis of Argentina in 2001 – 2002.

Argentina’s economy was highly dependent on foreign capital inflows, and its currency peg to the US dollar, not to mention they were precariously reliant on support from the IMF. The IMF openly validated the government of Argentina and their currency peg model, but foreign capital began to decline and the peg became unsustainable. Without tangible growth in manufacturing and a strong middle class, an economy cannot survive for long. A top down system based on illusory “financial products” and creative accounting is doomed to crash eventually.

All it took was for the IMF to criticize the policies they initially endorsed and announced that they were removing financial aid, and all hell broke loose in Argentina.

Almost overnight the Argentina peso plunged in value, interest rates spiked and inflation struck hard. People poured into the streets and civil unrest erupted. The IMF would later admit it made “errors” in its handling of the Argentina situation, but this was simply spin control designed to protect them from further scrutiny. The IMF avoided most of the blame and has been growing into a monstrous global centralization machine ever since.

I think we are witnessing the beginning of a similar end of mass faith in fraud in the US. The recent Robinhood short squeeze event as well as the current decoupling of physical silver prices from the paper ETF market have accelerated the timetable. Not surprisingly, these moves have forced the establishment to intervene to some extent to essentially stop renegade traders from freely investing. Accusations are flying and deplatforming has ensued. The idea that the system is a functional fraud is gone; The world now knows it is a dysfunctional fraud, and collapse cannot be very far behind.

Furthermore the collusion between banks, hedge funds and Big Tech is blatantly revealed. These relationships are supposed to remain hidden in the ether. They are obvious to anyone with any financial knowledge and sense, but they aren’t supposed to be wielded in the open. Conspirators aren’t supposed to admit to the conspiracy? Right?

Some people might say the establishment has been forced to unmask by activists. Maybe. But, as I have been warning for many years, when criminals start openly admitting to their crimes it is probably because they think that it’s too late for anyone to do anything about it.

Former President Donald Trump’s team dismissed a request for the former president to testify under oath at the pending Senate impeachment trial.

House Democratic impeachment managers led by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) sent a letter to Trump calling on him to testify at his second impeachment trial and said that if he doesn’t, they would use it against him during the event—a similar tactic and argument they used during the first impeachment trial.

“Two days ago, you filed an Answer in which you denied many factual allegations set forth in the article of impeachment. You have thus attempted to put critical facts at issue notwithstanding the clear and overwhelming evidence of your constitutional offense,” Raskin wrote to Trump, adding, “I write to invite you to provide testimony under oath, either before or during the Senate impeachment trial, concerning your conduct on January 6, 2021.”

But Trump lawyer David Schoen, in response, claimed Raskin was attempting a “public relations stunt” by sending the letter to the former president.

“There is no such thing as negative interference in this unconstitutional proceeding,” he added. “Your letter only confirms what is known to everyone: you cannot prove your allegations against the 45th president of the United States, who is now a private citizen.”

In suggesting that Trump will not attend the trial to testify, Schoen argued that Raskin’s “use of our Constitution to bring a purported impeachment proceeding is much too serious to try to play these games.”

The Democratic-controlled House voted last month to impeach Trump on a single article of impeachment, claiming he incited an insurrection on Jan. 6.

Trump’s lawyers have indicated that they will argue that the impeachment trial is unconstitutional because Trump has left office and that his act of speaking to a crowd on Jan. 6 was protected under the First Amendment.

Jason Miller, part of Trump’s team, told Newsmax on Thursday that he did not expect him to testify.

However, if Trump did, the former president would “knock this thing out in about 15 minutes,” said Miller.

When Trump addressed the “Stop the Steal” rally on Jan. 6 during the Joint Session of Congress, he wanted the protesters to demonstrate peacefully, he added.

“You would have to be so thick in the head to have watched President Trump over the last five years and not realize that he is the most pro-law and order president ever and that he deplores any sort of mob violence,” he said. Miller furthermore said that a timeline of the events on Jan. 6 dispute that Trump’s speech incited a mob.

“We’ve seen public reports from the police and FBI and all sorts of other outlets that much of this planning was done well in advance,” he said on the network.

The Senate impeachment trial is scheduled to start the week of Feb. 8. House Democrats wrote that the former president should respond to the letter by Friday, Feb. 5.

Last week, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Democrats won’t net a conviction after 45 GOP senators voted against holding the trial in January. At least17 Republicans would have to join the Democratic caucus.

Italy Detains Suspected Drug Trafficking Camorra Members

Italian authorities detained on Tuesday 20 suspected members of three distinct mafia clans operating in the Naples area. Police said they believe the suspects trafficked hashish to Malta and cocaine to Italy.

However, regional news outlets have rapidlyidentified the two clans as the Dannier and Manzi families, and listed the names of most of thedetained individuals, including an alleged international drug broker who acted in a minor role in the Netflix series “Gomorrah” – a show about the Camorra, a criminal organization from the Naples area.

He is the latest to fall foul of the so-called “Gomorrah Curse,” with several actors in the 2008 film or 2014 series having been arrested in recent years for mafia-related offences.

Regarding the families’ offences, members of the Genovese clan, acting alongside the Gallo-Cavaliere clan of Torre Annunziata, trafficked hashish from southern Italy to Malta via Costa Nostra intermediaries in Sicily. Members of the Dannier clan, which is deeply embedded in drug trafficking networks, acted as criminal brokers between Spanish drug syndicates and other Camorra clans.

The offences of the Manzi clan are not stated by the Guardia di Finanza, yet theirprior involvement in cocaine trafficking from Colombia to Spain andformer collaboration with Dannier members is already known. The Operation’s name –“Buenaventura”-reportedly refers to the Colombian port from which the Manzi sourced their cocaine.

The Dannier family wasplanning to supply the drugs to the dominant force in Secondigliano, the legendary Di Lauro clan. From the 1990s to the early 2000s,Paolo di Lauro was one of the most powerful Camorra bosses alive, controlling a vast empire of drugs, cigarettes and counterfeit textiles.

A lost mafia war and the arrests of several Di Lauros hasfragmented that empire, however, leaving them only their heartland of Secondigliano. The Genovese, Dannier and Manzi families are also on the decline, with younger clans rising to take their place.

“[The] Camorra has always had historical families but [also] new and very violent groups ready to grab power and business” said Sergio Nazzaro, an adviser to the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission.

Furthermore, drug trafficking remains the bedrock of that business, sparking conversations in Italy over legal reform.

The question remains whether to legalize or not the so-called light drugs like hashish and marijuana, Nazzaro told OCCRP.

“[For some] officials in the field, there is the idea that [it may] be a solution,” he said.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — The Epstein Victims' Compensation Program announced Thursday that all compensation offers for Jeffrey Epstein's victims will be temporarily suspended due to "funding uncertainty."

Jordana H. Feldman, the program's independent administrator, says all officers will be held until after the Mar. 25, 2021 claims filing deadline, or until the claims can be fully funded and paid, because of uncertainty whether the estate has access to cash.

Under the program protocol, the estate agreed to “pay all eligible claims based on the Administrator’s determination and represented that sufficient assets and liquidity existed to pay all claims." When the available funds for claim payments fall below a designated amount, the estate must quickly replenish those funds in order to ensure there's money to pay claims.

But on Feb. 3, Heldman was informed by the estate that it didn't have enough "liquidity" to replenish the funds needed for the most recent request and didn't know when that additional cash would be available, prompting her announcement to suspend the offers.

'We're finding that if we don't capture the market, we're going to fall behind'

President Joe Biden's pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency acknowledged that the administration's green energy agenda will enrich China in the near future.

During a Wednesday confirmation hearing, Michael Regan faced a question from Sen. Mike Braun (R., Ind.) regarding China's inaction on climate change. The nominee pointed to his time at the helm of North Carolina's Department of Environmental Quality, noting that while the state is among the nation's leaders in "solar installation," most of the parts being installed are Chinese. According to Regan, this places the United States at a disadvantage in the clean energy market.

"North Carolina is now second in solar installation in the country. What we find is most of the parts we want to install come from China," Regan said. "We're finding that if we don't capture the market, we're going to fall behind. I believe that's the same for solar, it's for cars."

Regan's admission reflects the problem with Biden's push to create "good-paying" American jobs in the clean energy sector. Biden climate officials have argued that job gains in the industry will offset losses among fossil fuel workers, and Regan expressed confidence that the country could "remain globally competitive" by making up ground in manufacturing. Others, however, are less optimistic, contending that China's inferior labor and environmental standards give the communist nation a leg up.

"You look at solar panels, you look at wind turbines, how they're made. China, we know from everything that they do being state capitalists—they're going to do things to put their industries at a competitive edge and reap the benefits while they're polluting the air," Braun told the Washington Free Beacon. "There's a lot we need to be careful with."

American Enterprise Institute resident scholar Derek Scissors echoed Braun's concerns. China controls roughly 60 percent of the solar industry's supply chain and produces 75 percent of global polysilicon, a key raw material in solar cell manufacturing. As a result, merely controlling the "installation" phase of production could be insufficient when it comes to creating American jobs.

"If the administration wants to greatly increase the use of solar, it faces the problem that China spends heavily to dominate world solar production. Either we'd have to rely on Chinese suppliers when ramping up solar or the administration would have to use legal means to secure the supply chain," Scissors said. "In this sense, solar reflects the larger challenge facing ‘build back better': The final stage of production may not be that important."

The EPA told the Free Beacon that it is "committed to delivering on the Biden-Harris administration's commitment to build a clean energy future that creates good-paying jobs for Americans."

UK Revokes License For Top Chinese Communist Party Media Outlet

U.K. regulators stripped China Global Television Network’s national broadcasting license.

The decision follows the U.K.’s Office of Communications (Ofcom) determining the license holder has “no editorial control” of China Global Television Network (CGTN), and that “the Chinese Communist Party is ultimately in charge of the satellite news channel.”

Ofcom identified two main problems with CGTN’s holding company, Star China Media Limited.

The company has no editorial oversight over CGTN’s programming and it also violates U.K. broadcasting laws that restrict political bodies from holding licenses:

Our investigation concluded that Star China Media Limited (SCML), the licence-holder for the CGTN service, did not have editorial responsibility for CGTN’s output. As such, SCML does not meet the legal requirement of having control over the licensed service, and so is not a lawful broadcast licensee.

In addition, we have been unable to grant an application to transfer the licence to an entity called China Global Television Network Corporation (CGTNC). This is because crucial information was missing from the application, and because we consider that CGTNC would be disqualified from holding a licence, as it is controlled by a body which is ultimately controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

The decision follows Ofcom faulting CGTN for breaking U.K. policies in 2020 with biased coverage of Hong Kong protests and the airing of forced confessions.

A Chinese company has approached the Papua New Guinea (PNG) government with a proposal to build a $39bn city just kilometres from Australia’s sea border, according to leaked documents obtained by The Australian.

Hong Kong-based WYW Holding asked PNG Prime Minister James Marape in April to sign off on a “build operate transfer” deal to build the city on the island of Daru, situated just two kilometres Australia’s border in the Torres Strait.

If approved, the “New Daru” would be passed onto PNG after an unspecified period of Chinese control.

President Trump went through four years of hell to save the country from the insane policies of the Obama Administration. He lost a billion dollars doing it.

President Trump offered up his annual salary and gave it to charities. In spite of this, how many Trump supporters were told that President Trump was only pushing policies to help his businesses.

He was allowed to walk away from jail without posting bail as long as he met certain conditions of his release. One of his conditions was his usage of the internet. Police say he violated that condition four times. The judge had released him over the objections of prosecutors because she said they did not produce enough proof. That is not uncommon and does not mean they don’t have rock-solid evidence. Prosecutors try to present just enough to get an indictment or to set bail. Sometimes it’s not quite enough.

It’s not wise to tip the defense on how you plan to present your case and give them a chance to form a plan to combat it. He was to step down and do no work for the group he founded but did not have to concede his control.

FOX reported: In a court document filed last week, U.S. Pretrial Services Officer Josh Cahoon alleged that Sullivan violated his approved Internet usage on four separate instances, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Magistrate Judge Daphne Oberg, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, issued a court summons for Sullivan based on the filing. He faces federal charges of civil disorder, entering a restricted building and violent entry or disorderly conduct.

The judge had ordered Sullivan to be released conditionally without bail on Jan. 15, deciding that prosecutors failed to meet the legal threshold required to keep him jailed. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bryan Reeves had argued Sullivan is a risk for trying to threaten witnesses

Chase Bank Tries to Cancel Covfefe Coffee, Won’t Process Payments for Pro-Trump Coffee Brand

Cancel culture has reportedly spread to the banking sector, as Chase Bank refuses to do business with a pro-Trump coffee company.

Chase Bank has stopped pro-Trump coffee company Covfefe Coffee from using its payment processor service, WePay, for seemingly no legitimate reason.

In an email sent to Covfefe Coffee, Chase Bank claimed that the pro-Trump coffee company, founded in 2018, was using their WePay payment processor “for one or more of the activities prohibited by our Terms of Service,” and that as a result, they would be withdrawing use of the service, with all pending payments cancelled.

Speaking exclusively to National File, a spokesman for Covfefe Coffee noted that the company had been using the payment processor for two years without issue, and the declaration from Chase came completely out of the blue. The spokesman suggested that they were removed for solely political reasons; National File examined the Terms of Service of WePay, and could not find any legitimate reason for to have been removed.

“The social credit system that is talked about in China, which conservatives say one day it’s coming here, no. We already have it,” the spokesman said:

If they’re trying to ruin Trump’s life, nothing is safe. No one is coming to save us. National File contacted Chase Bank for comment, inquiring as to what specific activities Covfefe Coffee was allegedly engaged in that merited this decision, and whether other conservative companies had been removed from the WePay platform for similar “offenses.” Chase Bank did not respond before the time of publication.

This is not the first time that Covfefe Coffee has been cancelled by major corporations for supporting President Donald Trump. In 2019, the company revealed to National File’s Editor in Chief Tom Pappert that their product had been completely pulled from Amazon after one customer complained about the taste of the coffee. A month prior, Amazon had banned them from advertising on their platform due to using the American flag in their ads.

Covfefe Coffee also stood behind Kyle Rittenhouse, after the competing “conservative” coffee company Black Rifle Coffee condemned the 17-year-old. “For people who have been to war, you would think they would be ready to fight to take our country back,” a company spokesman said. “Apparently making sure the feral mob is satisfied and their corporate orthodoxy is upheld is a far greater virtue to Black Rifle Coffee than courage.”

A large group of migrants, most likely seeking asylum in the United States, were spotted heading north via a rail route known as La Bestia. The train departed Tierra Blanca, Guanajuato, and will likely arrive at the U.S.-Mexico Border within days, according to Breitbart Texas sources.

Mexican immigration officials and municipal police in Tierra Blanca watched as hundreds boarded and departed. Their exact destination is unknown, but history suggests the Rio Grande Valley is most likely.

Tierra Blanca is one of many stopping points along the route known as La Bestia. Migrants are usually fed by sympathetic residents at waypoints. Some are charged a tax or “piso” by local cartels before they can continue their journey.

Pentagon to Review Deployment of US Military Across World, Austin Says

Earlier, US media reported that in order to decide which troops would be redeployed to other locations and which would remain, the Pentagon began a review of the former US President Donald Trump's decision to scale down troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced in a statement on Thursday that the Pentagon will review the deployment of the US military around the world.

"At the direction of the President, the Department will therefore conduct a global force posture review of US military footprint, resources, strategy, and missions," Austin said in a statement on late Thursday.

He added that the review of US military presence abroad will be conducted in consultation with allies.

"We will consult our allies and partners as we conduct this review," Austin said.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that the Biden administration may revise the number of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, noting that the revision might go upward or downward. According to the report, the remaining US contingent may be too small to wage counter-terrorism operations and train local forces. However, sending more troops would be "politically perilous," it said.

However, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said that the administration has not yet decided on its military postures in either Iraq, or Afghanistan.

Prior to his confirmation to the office, Austin said that he will review US force presence in the Middle East to address challenges - "including from China and Russia." He also said that he would revise the Trump administration's decision to pull out a significant number of US troops from Germany.

On Thursday, US President Joe Biden officially announced that the US is halting any removal of US forces from Germany.

The previous administration intended to return most of the withdrawn troops to the US and redeploy the remainder further east. The plans were reportedly Trump's reaction to Berlin failing to allocate 2 percent of its defense budget according to NATO regulations. The former president has been persistently encouraging allies to raise their defense budgets to that amount since the start of his presidency in 2016. German officials have warned that a US troop withdrawal would hurt the NATO alliance.

Ex-president Trump pledged to cease "endless wars" and bring American troops back home. During his presidency, Trump authorized a troop reduction in Iraq and managed to secure a peace accord with the Taliban in Afghanistan. In 2018, he surprisingly announced complete troops pullout from Syria, which, however, he did not fulfill, justifying a small contingent remainder with the need to "secure the oil".

Since most of Biden's picks for key positions in the administration are Obama-era officials he has worked with, media and experts had predicted that his foreign policy would be a shift from Trump's "offshore balancing" to resemble that of the Obama era, meaning collective diplomacy and military interventions.

Jacob Chansley was transferred to the Alexandria Detention Center after his attorney argued that his client had gone nine days without eating because organic food wasn't served at the jail in Washington. A judge ordered corrections officials to provide the special diet.

Chansley lost 20 pounds since being transferred from Arizona to Washington last week, his attorney, Albert Watkins, told the judge. Chansley, who calls himself the “QAnon Shaman,” considers eating organic food to be part of his “shamanic belief system and way of life,” the lawyer said.

He revives the Obama policy of strengthening America’s enemies and harming its friends.

Joe Biden implicitly campaigned on Warren G. Harding’s 1920 promise of “a return to normalcy.” But his administration is returning to Barack Obama’s abnormal Middle East strategy. A normal policy would respect the fundamental commandment of sound statecraft: Strengthen friends and punish enemies. It would distinguish between them by asking two simple questions: Which states have tended to shelter comfortably under the American power umbrella? And which have instead sought to destroy the American order? Israel, Turkey and the Gulf states, led by Saudi Arabia, have functioned as pillars of the postwar American order. By contrast, for the past 40 years Iran has tirelessly opposed the American security system.

Three details of Iran’s strategic position could make it more dangerous in the near future. First, the Persian Gulf contains five of the world’s 10 largest proven oil reserves, and Iran threatens to dominate the region. Second, Tehran is increasingly allied with both Russia and China. Third, outreach to Iran by the U.S. has deeply angered most of America’s Middle Eastern allies.

A normal policy would seek to contain Iran. Every president since Jimmy Carter regarded Iran as a threat—except Mr. Obama. His flagship policy was the Joint Cooperative Plan of Action, to which Mr. Biden is dedicated to return. The JCPOA won’t contain Iran. Its sunset clauses create a clear path for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. By lifting sanctions, it supplies the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps with cash. …

Mr. Trump established significant leverage over Tehran. Mr. Biden appears intent on squandering it.

SEATTLE — Seattle Police Department officers were called in this week to mediate between two warring factions that are now both claiming ownership of hundreds of paintings and drawings that served as a powerful political backdrop to the demonstrations that took root last summer in the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest zone.

Police on Wednesday halted board members of CHOP Art from moving more than 300 pieces of the works from a West Seattle storage locker. A former board member who was ousted from the group has taken the paintings and is refusing to tell her former colleagues where the materials are now.

KOMO News was there when the paintings and drawings were taken out of the storage locker, and now current board members say they are in a quandary over how to proceed.

“This is a position I’ve never been in before,” Mark Anthony, president of the CHOP Art board, said Thursday, adding that his group has asked the city to play referee. "We’re asking for the city specifically to step in to place this art on hold for safe keeping until we can handle this legally.”

They said dental problems associated with "mask mouth," including gum disease, could lead to serious complications.

“Gum disease — or periodontal disease — will eventually lead to strokes and an increased risk of heart attacks,” Marc Sclafani, a dentist and co-founder of One Manhattan Dental, told the New York Post about “mask mouth,” which is increasingly causing inflammation and gum disease among patients.

Another dentist and co-founder at One Manhattan Dental, Rob Ramondi, said 50% of his patients are suffering from negative health issues due to mask-wearing.

“We’re seeing inflammation in people’s gums that have been healthy forever, and cavities in people who have never had them before,” Ramondi said. “About 50% of our patients are being impacted by this,[so] we decided to name it ‘mask mouth’ — after ‘meth mouth.’”

"Meth mouth" is a term used to describe poor oral hygiene typically associated with chronic meth users.

The dentists said that the face coverings increase mouth dryness and contribute to a buildup of bad bacteria.

“People tend to breathe through their mouth instead of through their nose while wearing a mask,” Sclafani said. “The mouth breathing is causing the dry mouth, which leads to a decrease in saliva — and saliva is what fights the bacteria and cleanses your teeth.”

Sclafani suggested those who have no choice but to wear masks can drink more water, cut down on caffeine, snag a humidifier to moisten the air, use an alcohol-free mouthwash, scrape their tongue, and refrain from smoking.

Wearing face coverings to stem the spread of the coronavirus has become a contentious issue across the United States, with some states and cities imposing mandatory face mask requirements,while others have filed lawsuits to defy those precautions.

Supporters of mask requirements, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, argue that cloth masks are effective in stopping the spread of the virus, while critics cite studies showing a lack of evidence of effectiveness.

The Russian doctor who was in charge of treating Alexei Navalny after he was poisoned by the nerve agent Novichok has died suddenly at age 55, according to multiple reports.

Sergey Maximishin died of a heart attack after being taken to the hospital where he worked on Wednesday night due to a spike in his blood pressure, Life.ru reported, citing a Russian Health Ministry spokeswoman.

“The doctor actually died of a heart attack, because he had a really stressful job and he actually lost people who were close to him,” said spokeswoman Galina Nazarova.

“It’s just the human heart,” she told the outlet.

Maksimshin, who was the head of intensive care, died in the cardiology ER of his hospital in Omsk.

“He gave his local hospital 28 years, saved thousands of lives, and left many talented students who will carry on his legacy,” the Omsk Region Health Minister Alexander Murakhovsky said.

“Sergey Maximishin literally dragged out from “the other side” even the most critical, hopeless patients with his hands.”

About 1,400 people have been arrested, mostly in Moscow and St. Petersburg, during heated protests over the Jan. 17 arrest of Navalny, 44, a fierce Kremlin critic who was detained on his return to Russia from Germany, where his treatment for poisoning had been continued.

Navalny has been ordered to serve 3 1/2 years prison after authorities ruled that his trip to Germany violated his parole.

And lest amateur traders think they can take another run at the Wall Street establishment, Yellen and friends agreed on Thursday that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will need to quickly complete a study of the market tumult to find “whether trading practices are consistent with investor protection and fair and efficient markets.”

“Secretary Yellen believes it is imperative to uphold the integrity of these markets and ensure investor protection,” the Treasury Department said in a statement, signaling more scrutiny.

The investors needing protection lately were large hedge funds that short-sold stocks such as GameStop and AMC Entertainment, only to lose billions of dollars when amateur investors using message boards on Reddit and other social media platforms undertook coordinated buying binges to drive up share prices. So-called short squeezes gain further momentum as short sellers are forced to buy shares amid surging prices to cover their wrong-way bets, resulting in ruinous losses.

GameStop was the poster child for the campaign, led by Reddit message group WallStreetBets, rising to an intraday high of $483, a 188-fold increase from its 52-week low of $2.57. But investment app Robinhood and other brokerages put trading restrictions on shares of the so-called ‘meme stocks’, helping to burst the bubble. At approximately 9:15 a.m. EST, Feb. 3, 2021, staff at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) responded to an alert of elevated radiation levels in the confinement building of the NIST Center for Neutron Research on its Gaithersburg, Maryland, campus.

The alarm occurred during a restart of the research reactor after a regularly scheduled maintenance period. In response to the alarm, staff followed established procedures and immediately initiated a shutdown of the reactor. Several trained radiation workers were exposed to the elevated radiation levels and have been undergoing standard decontamination and evaluation. The health and safety of our staff members is our highest priority, as is protecting their privacy.

There are no indications of radiation above regulatory limits outside of the confinement building, a special area within the NCNR that is built to confine radioactive materials. It includes a filtered ventilation system designed to prevent the external release of radioactive material. All systems appear to have worked as designed and all protocols were followed in a timely manner. NIST will continue to evaluate data from air monitors and other sensors to ensure the health and safety of our campus and local community. NIST is also working to understand the precise cause of the elevated levels of radiation.

Police in New Delhi have opened a conspiracy investigation into the creators of a “toolkit” with instructions on how to amplify the farmers’ protests in India – a document that has been shared by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

Thunberg took to Twitter on Wednesday to share a lengthy document outlining ways for activists to contribute to India’s ongoing pro-farmer protests, including stock messages and hashtags to disseminate on social media, as well as advice on organizing rallies. Within hours, the “toolkit” was taken offline by its creators and replaced with a much shorter version, with Thunberg noting the previous doc was “outdated” as she shared the new guide.

Thunberg had already come under fire in India for lending her support to the controversial protests, which erupted into violence in New Delhi late last month, with Indian authorities investigating Sikh separatist movements for one particularly rough day of unrest in which nearly 400 police officers were injured and at least one protester was killed.

Police in the Indian capital have linked the creators of Thunberg’s toolkit with the violence in January, and launched a criminal investigation, police sources told The Indian Express on Thursday.

“Delhi Police has taken cognizance of a ‘Toolkit Document’ found on a social media platform that predates and indicates a copycat execution of a conspiracy behind the 26 January violence. The call was to wage economic, social, cultural and regional war against India,” the police told the paper.

A criminal case against the creators of the ‘Toolkit document’ has been registered and investigation has been taken up.

Thunberg’s place in the investigation is unknown. However, police Commissioner Praveer Ranjan told NDTV that the toolkit itself “exposes the conspiracy by an organized overseas network” to instigate the farmer protests. For Thunberg, whatever capital she may have had among some more nationalistic Indians seemed well and truly flushed away after Wednesday’s snafu.

If you want to believe that COVID, Climate Change, and Lockdowns are all entirely separate from BUILD BACK BETTER, then that is your problem. A conspiracy theory is MAKING UP things from questionable data. Here we have outright hard data and statements made but world leaders all mouthing the same agenda. We have instantly Biden shutting down pipelines and John Kerry telling miners to learn how to make solar panels. The lockdowns and militarization of Washington are not worried Trump supporters will storm the capital to take selfies again. They are worried about a revolution when the people see how many jobs are being lost PERMANENTLY and how these people are conspiring against the people to create a different world that was NEVER explained to the people or allowed them to vote on something that would change their entire future. And you call this democracy?

As guns sales hit historic levels across the nation, there's proposed legislation to loosen gun restrictions in Tennessee.

HB0018 is sponsored by Rep. Bruce Griffey (R-District 75), and co-sponsored by Rep. Scotty Campbell (R-District 3) of Mountain City. It would allow people in Tennessee to carry without a handgun carry permit.

"If this bill passes, the handgun carry permit process remains in place," said Rep. Campbell. "Also, if it's illegal for you to own a firearm today, it will still be illegal, and then you still have to pass a background check to purchase a firearm in Tennessee."

Right now, Tennessee law requires a permit which comes with training, background checks, and fingerprints. It costs around $65 dollars.

"Unless the public sees fit to change the words, you have a right to keep and bear arms and that shall not be infringed. Writing a check to the government is infringing on your right and it should never be required," Campbell said.

Firearms instructors, like Chet Emery, the owner of Bristol Firearms Training, believes the permit process is important.

"I'm very pro gun, don't think I'm not, but I don't think everybody should be carrying a gun around town," he said. "I don't think that's appropriate. I think you need some type of checks and balances to make it safe."

Emery believes some sort of training is needed before handling a weapon.

"I think you need to show you're proficient with a gun before you start carrying one," he said. "That's a huge responsibility."

Rep. Campbell doesn't disagree with training to use a firearm, but believes we need to follow the amendments of the Constitution the way they were written.

"The handgun permitting process will remain in place," said Campbell. "I encourage people to continue to go through the process to get the permit. I'm a big believer in that. I'm also a believer in the Constitution. If we don't like the Constitution, people would need to see that get changed. I don't think think were adhering to the Constitution as it is today."

Berlin: Several people have been injured after a gas explosion in Memmingen in southern Germany, daily Bild reported on Friday, citing a police spokesman.

The paper said a further explosion could not be ruled out.

The Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper said the explosion occurred at the offices of the German Red Cross around 0500 GMT on Friday, adding that police evacuated the area and that five people were injured, but most of them only slightly.

The explosion was probably due to a defect gas line under the street where the building was located, the paper cited police as saying.

When the coronavirus forced churches to close their doors and give up Sunday collections, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte turned to the federal government's signature small business relief program for more than $8 million.

The diocese's headquarters, churches and schools landed the help even though they had roughly $100 million of their own cash and short-term investments available last spring, financial records show. When the cash catastrophe church leaders feared didn't materialize, those assets topped $110 million by the summer.

"I am gratified to report the overall good financial health of the diocese despite the many difficulties presented by the Covid-19 pandemic," Bishop Peter Jugis wrote in the diocese's audited financial report released last fall.

As the pandemic began to unfold, scores of Catholic dioceses across the U.S. received aid through the Paycheck Protection Program while sitting on well over $10 billion in cash, short-term investments or other available funds, an Associated Press investigation has found. And despite the broad economic downturn, these assets have grown in many dioceses.

Yet even with that financial safety net, the 112 dioceses that shared their financial statements, along with the churches and schools they oversee, collected at least $1.5 billion in taxpayer-backed aid. A majority of these dioceses reported enough money on hand to cover at least six months of operating expenses, even without any new income.

The financial resources of several dioceses rivaled or exceeded those available to publicly traded companies like Shake Shack and Ruth's Chris Steak House, whose early participation in the program triggered outrage. Federal officials responded by emphasizing the money was intended for those who lacked the cushion that cash and other liquidity provide. Many corporations returned the funds.

Overall, the nation's nearly 200 dioceses, where bishops and cardinals govern, and other Catholic institutions received at least $3 billion. That makes the Roman Catholic Church perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the paycheck program, according to AP's analysis of data the U.S. Small Business Administration released following a public-records lawsuit by news organizations. The agency for months had shared only partial information, making a more precise analysis impossible.

Already one of the largest federal aid efforts ever, the SBA reopened the Paycheck Protection Program last month with a new infusion of nearly $300 billion. In making the announcement, the agency's administrator at the time, Jovita Carranza, hailed the program for serving "as an economic lifeline to millions of small businesses."

Church officials have said their employees were as worthy of help as workers at Main Street businesses, and that without it they would have had to slash jobs and curtail their charitable mission as demand for food pantries and social services spiked. They point out the program's rules didn't require them to exhaust their stores of cash and other funds before applying.

But new financial statements several dozen dioceses have posted for 2020 show that their available resources remained robust or improved during the pandemic's hard, early months. The pattern held whether a diocese was big or small, urban or rural, East or West, North or South.

In Kentucky, funds available to the Archdiocese of Louisville, its parishes and other organizations grew from at least $153 million to $157 million during the fiscal year that ended in June, AP found. Those same offices and organizations received at least $17 million in paycheck money. "The Archdiocese's operations have not been significantly impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak," according to its financial statement.

In Illinois, the Archdiocese of Chicago had more than $1 billion in cash and investments in its headquarters and cemetery division as of May, while the faithful continued to donate "more than expected," according to a review by the independent ratings agency Moody's Investors Service. Chicago's parishes, schools and ministries accumulated at least $77 million in paycheck protection funds.

Up the interstate from Charlotte in North Carolina, the Raleigh Diocese collected at least $11 million in aid. Yet during the fiscal year that ended in June, overall offerings were down just 5% and the assets available to the diocese, its parishes and schools increased by about $21 million to more than $170 million, AP found. In another measure of fiscal health, the diocese didn't make an emergency draw on its $10 million line of credit.

Observation: The United States Supreme Court has scheduled the Pennsylvania election case, Sidney’s Michigan election case, and my Georgia election case for its February 19 conference.

There are no coincidences.

Who knows what they will do? We shall see. Be patient.

Church leaders have questioned why AP focused on their faith following a story last July, whenNew York Cardinal Timothy Dolanwrote that reporters "invented a story when none existed and sought to bash the Church."

By using a special exemption that the church lobbied to include in the paycheck program, Catholic entities amassed at least $3 billion — roughly the same as the combined total of recipients from the other faiths that rounded out the top five, AP found. Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist and Jewish faith-based recipients also totaled at least $3 billion. Catholics account for about a fifth of the U.S. religious population while members of Protestant and Jewish denominations are nearly half, according to the Pew Research Center.

Catholic institutions also received many times more than other major nonprofits with charitable missions and national reach, such as the United Way, Goodwill Industries and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Overall, Catholic recipients got roughly twice as much as 40 of the largest, most well-known charities in America combined, AP found.

The complete picture is certainly even more lopsided. So many Catholic entities received help that reporters could not identify them all, even after spending hundreds of hours hand-checking tens of thousands of records in federal data.

The Vatican referred questions about the paycheck program to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, which said it does not speak on behalf of dioceses.

Presented with AP's findings, bishops conference spokeswoman Chieko Noguchi responded with a broad statement that the Paycheck Protection Program was "designed to protect the jobs of Americans from all walks of life, regardless of whether they work for for-profit or nonprofit employers, faith-based or secular."

A report German authorities tried to silence shows how Catholic nuns peddled orphaned boys to predatory priests and perverts for decades.

ROME—A jarring report outlining decades of rampant child sex abuse at the hands of greedy nuns and perverted priests in the Archdiocese of Cologne, Germany, paints a troubling picture of systematic abuse in the German church.

The report is the byproduct of a lawsuit alleging that orphaned boys living in the boarding houses of the Order of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer were sold or loaned for weeks at a time to predatory priests and businessmen in a sick rape trade. The men involved in the lawsuit say as boys they were denied being adopted out or sent to foster families because selling them for rape lined the sisters’ coffers for their “convent of horrors.” Some of the boys were then groomed to be sex slaves to perverts, the report claims.

The alleged abuse went on for years, with one of the males claiming the nuns even frequently visited their college dorms after they had left the convent. He said the nuns often drugged him and delivered him to predators’ apartments. The Order of Sisters of the Divine Redeemer did not answer multiple requests for comment about the allegations.

The lawsuit, first reported by Deutsche Welle last year, is being led by 63-year-old victim Karl Haucke who, along with 15 other former orphans, demanded the Archdiocese of Cologne carry out a full investigation, which it concluded in January 2021. But the details of that investigative report were so horrific that Archbishop Reiner Maria Woelki refused to make it public, demanding that any journalists who see it sign confidentiality agreements. Eight German journalists walked out of a press conference in January after being denied access to the church’s investigation unless they agreed not to publish its contents.

Haucke says he was abused at least once a week between the ages of 11 and 14, often by more than one priest. “We had no words to describe what was being done to us. Nor did we know what it meant. And it did not stop at physical pain. We had a clear sense of humiliation and being used,” he told Deutsche Welle when the report was due to be released. He called the stifling of the report's release in January “scandalous” and said that denying the journalists the right to publish the report was “like being abused all over again.”

Now, several lawyers with access to the 560-page report have shared segments with news outlets, including The Daily Beast. The report names various German businessmen and complicit clergy who “rented” the young boys from the nuns who ran a convent in Speyer, Germany between the 1960s and 1970s. Among the worst instances of abuse were gang bangs and orgies the young boys were forced to participate in before being returned to the convent where the nuns would then punish them for wrinkling their clothing or being covered in semen.

“Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesmann, who now leads the archdiocese, said that the abuse report was ‘so gory’ it would be too shocking to make public.”

The report finds that 175 people, mostly boys between the ages of 8 and 14, were abused over two decades. But it failed to blame the nuns directly, instead saying “systematic” management errors and “leniency” for those who were accused by the children enabled the abuse to continue.

Catholic Church paedophile networks to be mapped 'like organised crime' by academics

A "mafia-like" code of silence among "dark networks" within the Catholic Church has begun to emerge from a world-first project mapping clerical paedophile networks, says an academic behind the project.

The project is led by Newcastle sociologist Kathleen McPhillips and criminologistJodi Death(pronounced Deeth) from Queensland University of Technology's (QUT) law faculty.

The research builds on work done by Sally Muytjens, one ofDr Death'sdoctoral students, who mapped Catholic paedophile networks in Victoria.

The mapping will now include other hotspots such as Newcastle and the role of women in the church, nuns and seminaries.

The Victorian project identified 99 clergy members as abusers linked to 16 paedophile networks in the Melbourne and Ballarat dioceses.

It found there was a "mafia-like" code of silence among clergy perpetrators who formed dark networks (DNs) within the Victorian Catholic Church.

"Examples of DNs include terrorist organisations, youth gangs, drug-trafficking rings, price-fixing cartels, and other criminal enterprises."
