Welsh Assembly leader Mark Drakeford has targetted children’s Christmas presents by banning supermarkets from selling toys in his latest extreme lockdown.

The Labour politician announced on December 19th, days before Christmas, that the Celtic country would enter a Level 4 lockdown from Sunday. So-called non-essential businesses were forced to close, with the left-wing government imposing stay-at-home orders for the following two weeks. The Welsh government had initially granted citizens five days of lockdown freedom over the festive period, reducing that to only Christmas Day.

With small and most non-essential retailers closed, many parents receiving their early Christmas pay would have found themselves unable to buy their children’s presents in supermarkets in recent days, under the edict of Drakeford, with WalesOnline reporting on Sunday of large retailers across the country blocking off toy aisles to shoppers.

The Welsh government decreed: “In large supermarkets, in most cases it will be clear that certain sections of the store must be cordoned off or emptied, and closed to the public.

“Where there are distinct parts of a store selling (for example) electrical goods, clothes, toys, games, or products for the garden, these should be closed to the public – and these products should not be sold.”

Prime Minister Johnson’s last-minute announcement gave rise to London’s train stations being overwhelmed with travellers. Health Secretary Matt Hancock had scolded Britons trying to leave the capital that evening, many desperately trying to reach family before mixing households became illegal, calling it “totally irresponsible”.

The city of Detroit is suing BLM demonstrators for engaging in a ‘civil conspiracy’

The countersuit was launched in response to activists filing suit against the city's police department following summer protests.

Late last summer, Black Lives Matter activists in Detroit sued the city government in federal court, alleging that Detroit police "repeatedly responded with violence" to anti-police demonstrations and riots in the city between June and August. The plaintiffs supported their claim with photos of some of the resulting injuries.

U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan Laurie J. Michelson responded by issuing a temporary order to limit the use of force by the police department. Less than one month later, the city of Detroit filed a countersuit denying in detail each accusation made by the protesters.

The city's suit alleges that the demonstrators in Detroit are part of a "civil conspiracy" in place to "disturb the peace, engage in disorderly conduct, incite riots, destroy public property" and resist the actions of city police.

The city is asking the court to issue judgements against protestors who are a part of this "conspiracy" and who worked to defame the mayor and police department. The suit also requests that damages be awarded to the city.

The city's countersuit — the first of its kind to be filed following last summer's George Floyd protests — is being attacked on the activist left as an effort to suppress protest movements. Progressive Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, whose district includes much of Detroit, called the move "an unthinkable assault on constitutional rights."

"These attacks against us are a way of attempting to minimize our ability to go on the offensive and call for transparency and accountability," said Tristan Taylor, a protest leader and plaintiff in the initial lawsuit against the city. "This is just a way of saying to people, 'This is not a place where you can raise your voice.'"

The countersuit accuses Detroit protesters — specifically the umbrella group "Detroit Will Breathe" — of disseminating a "false narrative to rile the public" about the deadly July shooting of Hakim Littleton, a 20-year-old black man. Video footage released by the police department the day of the shooting shows "the man fire a gun at an officer before police shot him."

The suit additionally contests a number of characterizations of alleged police brutality, including the use of the term "chokehold" to describe the actions of a female officer while arresting Nakia Wallace, a leader of the Detroit Will Breathe group.

The demonstrators, meanwhile, are exploring both a legal response, in which they will be represented by allied national legal support groups, and a political response lobbying the Detroit City Council to use its power to cut off funding for the city's litigation efforts when the issue comes before the body in early 2021.

It not only restricts the Federal Reserve’s ability to extend some of its current emergency lending programs that help small and medium size businesses and state and local governments beyond December 31 of this year (while leaving Wall Street bailout programs alive for at least another 90 days) but it also enshrines the autonomy of the U.S. Treasury Secretary to operate a massive slush fund – the Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF). Most Americans have never heard of the Treasury’s Exchange Stabilization Fund. It was created in 1934 to provide support to the U.S. dollar during the Great Depression. The ESF has grown from $94.3 billion in assets prior to Trump taking office to a balance of $681 billion as of October 31, 2020. *As recently as March 31, 2007, the ESF had assets of just $45.9 billion.

While there has been widespread media attention to Toomey’s effort to kneecap the Fed’s emergency lending programs by inserting language into the stimulus bill, there has been no mainstream media attention to Toomey’s effort to memorialize both Mnuchin’s and (potentially) future Treasury Secretaries’ ability to have a slush fund to intervene in markets. The Treasury Secretary has, effectively, become a Plunge Protection Team of one.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. When Pearl Harbor was hit in a surprise attack at dawn, in 1941, the scattered American forces were pinned down by the charging Japanese Zero planes. The legend says that during the attack one army chaplain was among the defenders who were returning small-arms and machine gun fire on the oncoming fighters.

In the heat of the battle, he was asked by the men to say a prayer for them, as they were afraid that those were the last moments of their lives. It is said that the chaplain lay down his Bible, manned one of the machine guns and shouted: “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”. This gesture boosted the morale of the soldiers and they continued the defense of the harbor.

A song was written dedicated to the fighting chaplain, by Frank Loesser in 1942, where the priest was credited as “The Sky Pilot”. The song was originally published as a sheet music piece by Famous Music Corp. Sheet music meant that it wasn’t recorded but written with notes and lyrics, so it can be reproduced by anyone in large numbers.

The true story is a bit different from the legend. According to author Jack S. Mcdowell, the Sky Pilot was indeed a chaplain – Lieutenant Howell Forgy, but he wasn’t manning the machine gun.

The story was exaggerated as a patriotic inspirational song for American soldiers on the battlefields, but also for the people on the home front. The stories made their way to the press which falsely attributed the phrase to other chaplains and Forgy was left out of the event.

Howell Forgy was aboard the USS New Orleans at the time of the attack. The story was reconstructed from several sources, one of them being Forgy himself. The officer in charge of the ammunition line on the USS New Orleans reported that he originally heard the phrase during the attack.

When he heard it, he turned around and saw Chaplain Forgy walking towards him through the line of scared man, patting them on the back and saying the famous sentence: “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”. The officer reported that it had an effect on the man and on him also, for he felt comforted and prepared.

BlackRock has named a number of new leaders in its Financial Markets Advisory enterprise, a small but elite group inside the firm that provides an array of advisory and consultative providers to powerful establishments just like the Federal Reserve, Business Insider has discovered. The enterprise has named Brandon Hall and Ben Leax, two veteran BlackRock leaders, to the newly created roles of co-heads. Leax was formerly FMA’s international head of capital markets and insurance solutions, and his previous obligations can be folded into his new position. Julien Wallen, one other longtime BlackRock chief, has changed Roberto Speranza as head of FMA’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) operations. Speranza is shifting into a unique client-facing, enterprise development-focused position inside the firm, a spokesperson stated. Kunal Khara, who ran FMA’s Americas business, has gone to BlackRock’s Aladdin business after the “success of his work” in his earlier position, a spokesperson stated, and Khara’s position might be folded into Hall and Leax’s remits.

These modifications have been effective in October, a spokesperson stated. Charles Hatami, international head of FMA and the monetary establishments group, will remain in his submit. We are the leaders that people are looking for. Start small and see what happens.

An idea came to me while having breakfast inside a restaurant in a closed lockdown state. The restaurateurs decided to violate the tyrannical orders of the commies and open their restaurant.

We need to form groups of Minutemen/Minutewomen who can come at a moments notice to protect our friends, neighbors and businesses in our area from the tyrannical authorities when they come to shut them down. We will be connected through social media, cell phones etc. Peaceful flash mobs to stop tyranny.

If two show up to shut down our neighbors, 20 show up to stop them. If the tyrants bring LEO's than we show up with 100 or more. This HAS to be peaceful, we have to make the LEO's choose sides. The tyrants have to know that 'We' the governed are removing our consent to their tyranny and the LEO's are free to choose sides, either Liberty or Tyranny.

There will be consequences no matter what choice all parties make, but the tyranny must end.
